Summery: when you start to fall asleep on the triplet couch and Matt takes notice
THIS IS MY WORK AND MY IDEA! PLEASE DONT USE THIS AS “INSPIRATION” OR TAKE IT WITHOUT GETTING MY PERMISSION FIRST! thank you :)
MATTS POV
As me and Y/N walk down the stairs to the main floor of the hotel I can't help but feel small butterflies in my stomach. The way she looked around the hotel room that I paid for, made my heart swell as I realized that she truly was just as great of a person in real life as she was online.
“Should’ve just made you take the stairs,” I can hear Y/N huff from beside me. “My legs hurt already,” She says with a small pout as we reach the last flight of stairs.
“We’re almost there,” A small chuckle escapes with my words as we round the last corner in the stairwell.
Once we are on the road and back to my house I feel Y/N taking small glances in my direction, making me flush a little as we turn off of the main road. The drive from the hotel back to our house was short and didn’t take more than fifteen minutes to get from one place to another.
As I pulled into the garage I noticed how tired Y/N looked and the small yawn that escaped her lips as she unbuckled the seatbelt from her body.
Y/N POV
Once we are all in the triplets house we are talking, a soda in Chris’s hands, getting to know each other better. On a more personal level one would say. Matt sat next to you on the couch, while Nick and Chris sat down at the other end.
As the conversation flows through the group, small yawns fall from your lips, the travel getting to you. You can feel your eyes growing heavy, your body feeling like it can’t move. You slowly stop talking, yawn after yawn leaving your lips as your eyes start to shut.
“Y/N, wanna go lay down in my room?” You hear Matt’s voice, it’s soft and warm. “My beds’ more comfortable than the couch.”
You can practically feel your eyes light up at his suggestion, a warm comfy bed after a long day of travel, sign me up. You nod your head tiredly, scooting to the end of the couch. Matt stands from the couch, holding his hand out for you. You take his hand with a small smile and follow him down the hallway and into the first door on the left.
You look around his room finding small items that match his personality. Some stuffed animals, a gravity falls poster hanging on the wall, and the famous Mr.wrinleton sitting perfectly in the middle of his bed. You let out a soft hum before taking a few more steps in behind him.
“Just make yourself at home, I just washed the sheets a few days ago..” Matt speaks softly. Watching as you kick your shoes off and climb into his bed, his side of the bed. A small smile forms on his lips as you sleepily grab a hold of Mr.wrinleton and mumble out a quiet ‘thank you’ before nodding back off to sleep.
MATTS POV
I shut the door quietly after I watch y/n drift to sleep, making my way down the hallway and back into the living room.
When I enter the living room I'm met with a grinning Nick and a giggling Chris. “What?” I ask.
“My beds’ more comfortable…” Nick repeats what I said about five minutes ago. “What, is that your way of flirting with her or something?”
“Yeah, I mean dude you’ve been making ‘fuck me eyes’ at her the whole time she’s been here… I'm surprised you even came back out of your room.” Chris adds on to Nick's question.
I scoff lightly at their interrogations, even though they are completely right. I did just want you to be comfortable, but I wanted you to be sleeping in my bed just a little more.
“How is that flirting? I was just being nice to our guest.” My voice squeaks as I try to lie to my brothers. I let out a sigh, knowing my voice cracking gave me away.
“You are trying to flirt!” Chris says rather loudly. I start to shush him, not only to not give me away, but to not wake you up. Chris lets out a few quiet giggles as he sits back on the couch, leaving me standing in front of him and nick.
“Listen, I don’t wanna make her uncomfortable if she doesn’t like me back.. so please don’t say anything and let me handle it.” I tell them, not wanting them to tell you before I can even get a chance to see if you could potentially feel the same way.
An: so sorry I’ve been MIA recently😬 hopefully getting back into it very soon, im finally in a good place in life and have been working on finding a good schedule and all that good stuff… anyways i hope you enjoyed this short but sweet chapter!!

MASTERLIST - F1
As you settled into the car, Lando glanced over at you, a hint of concern in his eyes. "Are you really sure you want to join me today?" he asked, his fingers gently intertwining with yours.
He pressed a soft kiss to your knuckles, a gesture that both comforted and excited you.
The thought of watching him interact with the animals at Battersea was thrilling, yet the idea of being around dogs made your heart race with anxiety.
You had promised him you would be there, and despite your fears, you were determined to support him.
"I know I said I would come, but you have to understand, Lando," you replied, your voice tinged with uncertainty. "Dogs make me really nervous. What if one jumps on me or barks? I just don’t know how I’ll handle it."
You could see the warmth in his eyes as he listened, his expression a mix of understanding and encouragement. "I’ll be right by your side the whole time," he reassured you, his smile infectious.
"And I promise, I’ll make sure you’re comfortable. Just think of all the cute puppies we might see!"
With a deep breath, you nodded, trying to quell the flutter of anxiety in your stomach. "Okay, I’ll give it a shot," you said, determination creeping into your voice.
"That’s a good girl," Lando murmured softly, his breath brushing against your knuckles as he kept his eyes fixed on the road ahead.
The warmth of his words wrapped around you like a comforting blanket, easing some of the tension that had built up inside. As the car sped along the winding road, you could feel the adrenaline coursing through your veins.
"You really think I can do this?" you asked, glancing at him with a mix of hope and uncertainty.
Lando shot you a reassuring smile, his confidence in you shining through. "Absolutely. Just remember, it’s all about believing in yourself. I’ll be right here with you every step of the way."
As you pulled into Battersea, the sight of a bustling crowd of staff waiting eagerly for Lando caught your attention.
The moment he parked the car, he hopped out with a bright smile, rushing around to open the door for you.
"After you," he said, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. You stepped out, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves as the staff greeted you both warmly.
"Welcome! We're so glad you're here!" one of them exclaimed, leading the way inside.
Once inside, a friendly veterinarian approached you, clipboard in hand. "Thank you both for coming today. We’re thrilled to have you support our charity," she said, her voice filled with warmth. "The video will feature Lando holding some of our adorable animals to help raise awareness."
Lando's face lit up at the mention of the animals. "I can’t wait to meet them! They’re going to steal the show!" he replied, his enthusiasm infectious.
You, however, felt a flutter of anxiety in your stomach. "What if I mess up and scare them?" you whispered to Lando, glancing around at the bustling staff.
Sensing your unease, Lando gently squeezed your hand, offering reassurance. "You’ll be amazing, trust me. Just think of all the good we’re doing here," he said, his voice steady and calming.
"And besides, it’s just us and some cute animals. What could go wrong?" You took a deep breath, trying to absorb his confidence.
"Okay, you’re right. Let’s do this," you replied, feeling a little more at ease.
Lando settled onto a stool, his excitement palpable as he prepared for the video shoot.
Behind the cameraman, you offered him a reassuring thumbs up, a gesture that made him beam with enthusiasm. "Thanks for the support!" he called out, his voice filled with warmth.
The anticipation in the room was electric, and Lando couldn't wait to share his passion for Battersea, where he would soon meet some adorable furry companions.
As the camera began rolling, Lando's face lit up with a genuine smile. "Hey everyone! I'm thrilled to be here today to talk about Battersea," he began, his tone inviting and friendly.
"This amazing charity does incredible work for animals in need, and I can't wait to meet some of the little ones looking for a forever home."
Just then, a staff member entered the frame, cradling a fluffy cat in their arms.
With a gentle motion, they placed the feline on Lando's lap, and he instantly wrapped his arms around it, his heart melting at the sight.
"Look at this little guy!" Lando exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with joy. The cat purred contentedly, and Lando leaned in closer, speaking softly to it.
"Aren't you just the cutest? I bet you have a lot of love to give." He turned back to the camera, still cradling the cat.
"If you're thinking about adopting, I encourage you to visit Battersea. There are so many wonderful animals just waiting for someone to take them home."
His passion was infectious, and it was clear that this moment was just the beginning of a beautiful connection between Lando, the cat, and the cause he so deeply cared about.
Lando was having the time of his life at the animal sanctuary, surrounded by a delightful mix of creatures both big and small.
"Look at all these animals!" he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement as he spotted a fluffy dog wagging its tail and a curious cat peeking from behind a door.
However, not everyone was as enthusiastic. You were sitting on the ground, feeling a bit overwhelmed as some of the animals approached you.
"Oh no, please don’t come too close!" you squeaked, making a noise that startled them away.
Watching them retreat made you feel a little sad, as you wished you could enjoy their company without the fear.
As Lando continued to explore, he stumbled upon a trio of playful puppies who were clearly the best of friends. "Hey, look at these little guys!" he called out, plopping down on the floor to get a better view.
The three puppies bounded over, their tiny paws pattering against the ground as they curiously sniffed at Lando's watch and playfully tugged at his necklace.
"Aren't they just the cutest?" Lando laughed, his heart melting at their antics.
You couldn’t help but smile at the sight, feeling a warmth spread through you as you watched the joyful scene unfold.
Suddenly, one of the puppies broke away from the group and trotted over to you, its little tail wagging furiously. "What are you doing down there?" it seemed to ask with its big, innocent eyes.
Despite your noise of fright, the puppy was undeterred and continued to inch closer until it finally climbed into your lap.
"Oh, hey there, little one!" you said softly, your heart racing with a mix of fear and delight.
You gently scooped the puppy into your arms, feeling its soft fur against your skin.
"You’re not scary at all," you whispered, beginning to pet it slowly.
The puppy leaned into your touch, and in that moment, all your worries melted away, replaced by the pure joy of connection.
"Aren't you a brave little one?" you said, your voice softening as you reached out to stroke its head.
Lando watched the scene unfold with a teasing grin. "See? I told you they weren't all bad," he remarked, his tone light and playful.
You glanced up at him, a smile spreading across your face as you continued to pet the puppy, feeling its warmth and energy.
"I guess you were right," you replied, your heart melting at the sight of the puppy snuggling into you.
The room filled with laughter and joy as the other two puppies joined in, creating a delightful whirlwind of fur and fun around you both.
As the video played on, the two other puppies scampered off, leaving the first one nestled comfortably on your lap, its tiny body warm and still.
You found yourself mesmerised by the scene unfolding on the screen, your fingers gently stroking the soft fur of the puppy.
Lando was busy at work, his focus unwavering as he played with more furry friends but your attention was split between the adorable creature in your lap and the captivating content of the video.
When the video finally came to an end, Lando stood up and made his way over to you, a playful grin lighting up his face. He knelt down beside you, reaching out to give the puppy some affection as well.
"We should definitely take this little guy home," he said, his voice filled with excitement as the puppy eagerly licked his fingers, its tail wagging furiously.
You couldn’t help but smile at the sight, but a sense of reality quickly washed over you.
"Lando, we can't do that," you replied softly, trying to avoid the puppy's pleading gaze. "You know we have enough on our plate already, with your job and my work."
You felt a pang of guilt as the puppy looked up at you with those big, innocent eyes, but you knew that bringing a new pet into your lives would only complicate things further.
Lando sighed, his enthusiasm dimming slightly, but he wasn’t ready to give up just yet. "Come on, just think about it! This little one needs a home, and we could give it a great life," he countered, his eyes sparkling with hope.
You could see the determination in his expression, and for a moment, you found yourself wavering.
It turned out that the puppy you had fallen in love with was not meant to be yours.
As you showered the little furball with affection, the staff gently pried it away from your arms, the puppy's mournful howls echoing in the air as it was taken back.
"I’m really going to miss you, little one," you whispered, your heart aching as you watched the staff carry the puppy away.
The warmth of its tiny body lingered on your skin, and you couldn’t shake the feeling of loss as you left the shelter.
On the drive home, Lando glanced over at you, noticing the distant look in your eyes. "You okay? You seem a bit out of it," he asked, concern etched on his face.
"I just can’t stop thinking about that puppy," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "It was so sweet, and I felt such a connection. I wish I could have taken it home."
Lando nodded, understanding your sentiment.
"I get it. That place is full of amazing dogs. But hey, we can always go back and visit," he suggested, trying to lift your spirits.
Dinner was a quiet affair, with Lando chatting about the other dogs he had seen at Battersea. You nodded along, but your mind was elsewhere, drifting back to the puppy's big, soulful eyes.
"You know, I can’t help but imagine what it would be like to have that little guy running around the house," you mused, a smile creeping onto your face despite the sadness.
Lando chuckled, "Well, if you keep daydreaming about it, we might just have to make a trip back to the shelter. Who knows, maybe it’s meant to be!"
His playful tone brought a glimmer of hope, and for a moment, you allowed yourself to dream again.
It was the day of the British Grand Prix, and Lando was buzzing with excitement to race on home soil. He was deep in conversation with his team, going over the strategies that could make or break his performance on the track.
Meanwhile, you found yourself in the Ferrari garage, catching up with Alex, Charles' girlfriend.
The atmosphere was electric, filled with the sounds of engines revving and the chatter of team members preparing for the race.
"Hey Y/N! It's so good to see you!" Alexandra exclaimed, her face lighting up as she rushed over to give you a warm hug.
You smiled, feeling the warmth of her enthusiasm. "I'm great, thanks! And you look absolutely stunning today," you complimented, taking a moment to admire her vibrant outfit that perfectly matched the Ferrari colors.
"Thank you! I wanted to wear something special for the race," she said, twirling playfully. "Are you excited to see Lando in action? I know you can’t wait to cheer him on!"
"Absolutely! He’s been working so hard, and I know he’s going to give it his all out there," you replied, glancing towards the pit lane where Lando was deep in discussion with his engineers.
Alexandra nodded, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "I just hope Charles can keep up with him! It’s going to be a fierce competition today."
You both shared a laugh, knowing how competitive the atmosphere could get. "I think it’s going to be a thrilling race. The energy here is incredible!" you said, gesturing to the bustling garage filled with mechanics and team members.
As the minutes ticked down to the start of the race, you and Alexandra decided to grab a quick snack from the hospitality area. "Let’s go grab some food before it gets too hectic," she suggested, leading the way.
While walking, you chatted about everything from the latest team updates to your favorite moments from previous races. "Remember that time Lando almost won in Silverstone last year? The crowd went wild!" you reminisced, laughing at the memory.
"Yes! I was on the edge of my seat! I can only imagine how he feels racing here today," Alexandra replied, her excitement palpable.
Once you reached the hospitality area, you both grabbed some sandwiches and drinks, trying to soak in the atmosphere.
Alex took a sip of her drink, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Is there something on your mind that you wanted to discuss?"
You feigned surprise, raising an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"Come on," Alexandra replied, leaning in closer. "You always have these little heart-to-hearts before a race if something's bothering you. Is it about Lando?"
"Absolutely not!" you exclaimed, a bit too quickly.
With a resigned sigh, you shifted the conversation. "Okay, let me ask you this: when did you realize that Leo was the perfect dog for you?"
Alex's expression softened, and she set her drink down, clearly intrigued. "Oh, that’s a story! It was a chilly afternoon at the shelter. I was just browsing, not really planning to adopt anyone. But then I saw him—this scruffy little mutt with big, soulful eyes. He was just sitting there, looking up at me like he knew I needed him."
You leaned in, captivated. "What happened next?"
"Well, I walked over, and he wagged his tail like crazy. I knelt down, and he licked my face as if to say, 'Pick me!' I was smitten right then and there. But I hesitated. I thought about my busy schedule, the races, the travel. Could I really take care of a dog?"
"That’s a tough decision," you said, nodding. "What made you go for it?"
Alex chuckled, her eyes lighting up with the memory. "I took him for a quick walk around the block. He was so full of energy, darting around and sniffing everything. I felt this connection, like he was meant to be part of my life. By the time we got back, I knew I couldn’t leave without him."
"That’s amazing! So, you just went for it?" you asked, genuinely impressed.
"Pretty much! I filled out the paperwork, and before I knew it, I was walking out of there with Leo by my side. It felt right. He’s been my little sidekick ever since, always there to cheer me up after a tough or long day."
"Why did you ask though, last time I checked you were scared of animals," Alex asked curiously.
"Me and Lando went to Battersea yesterday and there was this dog who really bonded with me, he was literally begging me not to leave him," you explained.
"Aww Y/N, you already had all the signs you needed but are you sure you're ready for a dog, it can be hard work,"
You gave a small smile, "I'm sure, I'm already missing him,"
As you stepped into Battersea, a wave of excitement washed over you. The atmosphere buzzed with the sounds of barking and playful yips.
You approached the receptionist, your heart racing with anticipation.
"Excuse me, could you please direct me to the three dogs?" you inquired, your voice filled with eagerness. The staff member smiled warmly and gestured for you to follow.
Soon, you found yourself in a cozy room where three adorable puppies were tumbling over each other, their tails wagging furiously.
The sight brought an instant smile to your face, a moment of pure joy.
Just then, one of the puppies, a half-brown bundle of energy, caught sight of you.
Without a moment's hesitation, he broke away from his siblings and dashed toward you, his little legs moving so fast that he nearly stumbled.
You couldn't help but laugh at his clumsy enthusiasm.
As he reached you, you bent down and scooped him up into your arms, feeling the warmth of his tiny body against you.
"Hey there, little guy! Remember me?" you cooed, your heart swelling with affection.
The puppy looked up at you with big, hopeful eyes, and in that instant, you knew there was a connection.
"Can I adopt him?" you blurted out, your voice filled with urgency and hope.
The staff member, who had been observing the interaction, nodded with a knowing smile. "Absolutely! He’s a real sweetheart. We call him Chase," she replied, her eyes twinkling with delight.
You could hardly contain your excitement as you cradled Max in your arms, envisioning all the adventures you would share together.
"I can’t wait to take you home, buddy," you whispered, feeling as if you had just found a missing piece of your heart. . . .
He had just achieved a remarkable milestone by winning a home race for the very first time! As soon as he parked his car, an overwhelming rush of excitement surged through him.
He leaped out and was immediately enveloped by his team members, who caught him in a jubilant embrace, their faces beaming with pride and happiness for his victory.
The atmosphere was electric, filled with cheers and laughter as they celebrated this significant moment together.
After a few moments of revelry, Lando removed his helmet, taking a deep breath as he scanned the crowd for a familiar face.
"Where is Y/N?" he inquired, his voice laced with curiosity as he approached one of the staff members.
The staff member looked around, momentarily puzzled, before exclaiming, "I haven't seen heroh, there she is!" They pointed excitedly behind him.
When he pivoted on his heels, he was completely unprepared for the sight that greeted him.
There you stood, radiating beauty in a vibrant papaya-colored dress that hugged your figure perfectly, the fabric shimmering in the sunlight.
The dress, adorned with delicate floral patterns, swayed gently with the breeze, accentuating your every movement.
In your arms, you cradled a half-brown dog, its fur a delightful mix of rich chocolate and warm caramel, with big, expressive eyes that seemed to sparkle with mischief.
Without a moment's hesitation, Lando dashed over to you, a wide grin spreading across his face.
"I'm sorry I was late," you said, a hint of guilt in your voice as you looked up at him.
He shook his head, dismissing your concern with a soft smile. "You're just in time, baby," he murmured, leaning in to plant a gentle kiss on your lips.
The world around them faded away as they shared that intimate moment, the joy of his victory mingling with the warmth of your presence, making it a day he would never forget.
You were the first to pull away, your heart racing as you playfully slapped his chest. "You can't just kiss me like that in front of everyone!" you exclaimed, half-laughing, half-serious.
He shrugged, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I don’t care," he replied with a smirk, clearly enjoying the moment.
"This dress looks amazing on you. And who’s this little guy?" He leaned closer, his curiosity piqued by the playful pup that wagged its tail enthusiastically, as if it could sense the warmth of the moment.
You felt a rush of warmth flood your cheeks as you smiled back at him. "This is Chase, our new dog," you replied, your heart swelling with pride.
Lando's expression shifted to one of surprise, his eyes widening in disbelief. "Our dog?" he echoed, clearly taken aback by the sudden addition to your little family.
You nodded enthusiastically, eager to share the news. "Yeah, I filled out the paperwork yesterday and even picked up some toys for him before I came over."
Before you could finish your thought, Lando leaned in and kissed you softly, leaving you momentarily speechless.
"Oh hi buddy! I'm your dada now! Come here!" he exclaimed, his voice rising in pitch as he scooped Chase into his arms.
The puppy squirmed happily, licking Lando's face as if to welcome him into the family.
You watched the scene unfold, your heart brimming with happiness, knowing that this was just the beginning of many joyful moments together. . . .
The presenter beamed at Lando Norris, excitement radiating from his voice. "Lando Norris! You've finally clinched victory at your home race. What’s going through your mind right now?"
Lando, balancing the microphone in one hand while cradling his dog, Chase, in the other, took a moment to gather his thoughts.
He gently shushed Chase, who was squirming with enthusiasm, and the dog settled down, resting comfortably in his arm.
With a broad smile, Lando replied, "Honestly, it feels incredible to win here! There have been so many unexpected twists and turns throughout the race, much like my little buddy here."
He gestured toward Chase, who seemed to understand the moment and wagged his tail in agreement.
The crowd erupted in cheers, their energy palpable as they celebrated the local hero's triumph.
"Ladies and gentlemen, let’s give a warm welcome to Chase Norris!" Lando announced, holding the microphone closer to the dog.
Chase responded with an enthusiastic bark, which only fueled the crowd's excitement further.
Lando laughed, feeling the joy of the moment wash over him.
"This victory is for all of you, and for my family—both human and furry!"
The audience roared with approval, happy to see another furry friend on the paddock.
Lando chuckled, leaning closer to the mic again. "You know, this little guy was a gift from Mrs. Norris," he quipped, casting a sidelong glance at you.
The moment he said it, he could see your eyes widen in disbelief, your expression a mix of shock and amusement.
It was a classic Lando move, and he reveled in the reaction he had sparked.
"Mrs. Norris?" The presenter repeated, their eyebrow raised as they also looked at you.
"Well it will happened soon so might as well get used to the name now," Lando said, grinning. "And guess who's going to be the ring bearer in my wedding, yeah you Chase! You're the ring bearer!"
You had to forcefully take Chase away for Lando to finally concentrate in his interview.
As you looked at Chase, you know this little doggie was going to be the mini version of his dad but you weren't complaining.
Our little Chase Norris. . . .

Drown in You (Sanji x Reader)
Art by tsuyomaru
Prologue: It is no secret to the crew that you know soul magic. Robin was the first to understand what you were talking about - it is, after all, a practice from a far off island whose resident have all but vanished. While she would ask you actually engaging questions, almost all the others are just begging you to use it, but you refuse to budge and show them. You tell them about it though, wistfully and reverently. At first, Sanji would beg and wax poetic about it the most of all, but as you grow closer he learns to just listen. With your deepening trust and his lack of pushing, you decide it’s time to give him a taste of the heady bliss of brushing souls.
A/N: Getting this up quick before getting back to asks 👏🏻 This was written for me to practice using my magic stuff instead of just thinking about it lol I use it constantly in daydreams so why not try to actually get it down and see if others like it too 🤷🏼♀️ as far as this fic goes, visualization is used to control the energy of the soul then have it flow over Sanji then all his happy chemicals go ~W O W~
Word Count: ~3.8 k
Warnings: gn reader, just so much non-sexual intimacy, ✨magic✨, flirting, pet names (all gn), Sanji being down bad, reader finding it cute, it’s more opla down bad not anime down bad in this one, besides that I think he could be read as either
Hope you enjoy guiding Sanji through feeling a soul the first time 🤍🤍🤍
Suggested Music:

“If you relax it will help,” you instructed.
Sanji was trying his best to relax but how could he? He had seen how dreamily you talked of your experiences with this, of how comforting and relaxing and intimate it felt. After somehow convincing his way into receiving the touch from you, he was ecstatic. Then the reality of it - of how vulnerable it would leave him - started to sink in and anxiety began to taint his excitement.
You laid a hand on top of his, stopping his fingers from tapping at his thigh. You didn’t have to reach far to touch him; both of you were sitting cross-legged on the floor, so close that your knees touched.
“Really, don’t worry,” you soothed. “We’re only brushing so you can get used to the feeling, yeah? It’ll be a lot at first, but nothing entangling or invasive. And we stop if anything’s too much.”
Sanji’s shining blue eyes took their time examining your own before turning to the floor. He hoped that looking at anything else would help him think; whenever your eyes met, his mind went blank. The patterns in the blanket separating you both from the sleeping mat didn’t help him find his words. Neither did the pillows and extra blankets encircling your seats. As you started to pull away, he felt your soft skin trail against the back of his hand and suddenly the words came.
“It’s okay, I’m fine,” Sanji rushed out. It took only a second for him to adjust back to flirtation. “Just got tongue-tied looking at you.”
You giggled at the cheesy line and how flustered he was. His practiced silver tongue didn’t seem to be helping him at the moment, which was probably making him even more nervous. You took mercy on him by not pointing it out.
Instead, you offered him your other hand and he quickly slid his into your upturned palm. He settled it so that your palms nestled into each other, giving you perfect access to run your thumb back and forth over the inside of his wrist. Sanji responds with a gentle squeeze. You pull your other hand away to resituate your hand-holding on that side to mirror the other. Sanji looked between both embraces with a soft affection that had your heart skittering. A deep breath helped steer you back on task.
“Okay. If we sync our breathing it will help the whole process and keep everything moving nice and slow,” you explained. Sanji gave you a short nod and a shaky smile. “Watch me and follow.”
You started by breathing through your nose until you felt the air refresh every corner of your lungs. Sanji held your gaze and followed the action a split second after he heard the soft sound of your inhale start. You held that air for just a moment before gently pursing your lips and slowly blowing the air through them. His eyes shot down to watch your lips and his breath left him in a short quiet sigh. The gentle breeze you blew out brushed the back of his hands. You started your next inhale fast to exaggerate the sound and it snapped him out of his trance. He smiled in apology, squinting those shiny baby blues of his, and got right back to following you.
The feeling of your lungs stretching out your ribs, and the pressure of the exiting air tingling your lips, was soothing your mind and body. The effect grew with the sounds of your own controlled breathing and amplified with Sanji’s mimicry until there was a pleasant murkiness to the edges of your thought. Judging by how hooded Sanji’s eyes had become, he was feeling it too. Time to start.
“Now keep your hands in mine, it may feel destabilizing if you pull away suddenly,” you gently warned, voice quiet in your unwillingness to disrupt the tranquil air.
“Comforting,” Sanji responded, scrunching his nose. He resettled his expression to the flirtatious one you were much more familiar with. “Promise to nurse me back to health if anything goes wrong?”
“How else am I supposed to get my favorite treats if you’re out of commission?” you teased.
“Say that you’re mine and I’ll give you all the treats the world has to offer,” he promised, earning an enabling chuckle out of you.
“Well, we’ll see if you can handle that,” you said, voice affectionate instead of condescending. “Now less talking, more breathing. I’m going to start and I want you to save your words for anything feeling uncomfortable.”
At his nod, you began.
Sanji watched with curiosity as you closed your eyes and stopped all motion except for your breathing. He thought you looked absolutely radiant sitting in the warm afternoon light cast through the porthole, drenched in bottomless peace. Matching your breath became second nature surprisingly quick, making his mind free to absorb every beloved detail of you sharing this with him and to charge with anticipation for your next move.
He felt but he did not see - no matter how hard he stared at the feeling manifesting on his skin, whatever was moving there stayed invisible to him. It started with your hands radiating warmth out, growing so gradually that he didn’t notice until it felt like his hands were shoved in laundry fresh from the dryer. The heat held steady for a moment, turning his grip lax as it melted any tension, before he felt the sensation change and grow up his arms. It felt both liquid and air against his skin; a summer breeze that swirled and toiled like an ocean current. A shiver crept up his spine, making the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Each place the sensation curled and puffed across was stuck between enlivening with an electric flush and sinking into the heaviness of a body deep in sleep. By the time it was encroaching on his shoulder, bleeding straight through his clothes as if they didn’t exist, his breathing stuttered to something of a gasp.
Your concentration faltered at the sound, offering Sanji a light reprieve as the energy lost its ability to ignore his clothing. You opened your eyes to check in on your companion and gasp too. His eyes were hazy and staring at you like you had given him his first sip of water in days. His blue irises stood out even more above the light blush on his face, even with his love-blown pupils. You flushed at the look, but brushed it off; the first feeling is usually overwhelming and confusing and sets off many happy chemicals to douse the whole brain and body. You thought you hadn’t pushed out too much of your energy on him and it was all soothing and content, but his eyes told you that you had bombarded him with permeating affection. Too bad you couldn’t connect your energy to his to figure out precisely what he was feeling.
“Sanji, honey, talk to me,” you asked quietly, encouragingly. “What are you feeling?”
“I feel…” he started, but he trailed off and simply kept taking you in with his soft eyes. You squeezed his hands and bumped his knee with yours to jostle him a little closer to coherence.
“Sanji, is it bad?” He certainly didn’t look like it felt bad, but too much good can quickly lead that way.
“It’s… strange?” he offered. His brows scrunched from the difficulty he was having conjuring the right words. “Good strange. Breezy. Warm. It’s a lot though.”
“Too much?” you probed, already starting to lighten up the energy.
“No,” Sanji insisted, leaning towards you in his urgency. He caught the surprise in your eyes and forced himself back again. He cleared his throat. “Please.” He exhaled heavily. “Keep going, love.”
“As long as you're sure.” You took a deep breath yourself, needing to settle your own worry back into calm concentration. You gifted yourself a moment to caress his wrist with your thumb again, enjoying how soft the skin felt in comparison to his calloused fingertips. You gave one more warning: “It will peak before you adjust and it settles out.”
You did not wait for a response to continue. Shutting your eyes so sight wouldn’t battle you on your way back to your visualizations, you were back to your task. The way you’ve gotten success in controlling your own soul’s energy was with water imagery. In your mind’s eye, a lake behind your head leaked to the space between your eyes, where it poured down in a roaring waterfall. The majority of the torrent flooded down through your neck, into your ribcage, and along to the cradle of your pelvis. On the way, it bounced and flung off a boulder built of your heart and splashed to make trickles on your ribs, spine, and hips. There was, however, some water that took a different path. The highest rocks it crashed upon rested in your shoulders, making the water spray and rush its way down your arms. Its journey from rapids to stream took place along your forearms to control the flow by the time it reached your hands. There, the water became a gently swirling pool in each palm. By the time this vision had become immaculately clear to you again, Sanji’s grip had firmed back up on you.
Sanji’s nerves had worsened instead of smoothed out, but he'd be damned if he was going to back down from this. He needed to know that feeling you had tried to describe to him and the rest of the crew. And like he had said - it wasn’t bad, but it was.. startling? Unnerving? He knew the feeling was coming from his skin but it almost didn’t feel like it was his own skin; it felt like it was coming from a whole new body. It felt at once thrumming and alive as well as heavy and enveloping. He shut his eyes against the overwhelm.
With your own eyes closed, you had to use the strength and tremble of Sanji’s grip to guide you on when to pause and when to push forward. As you anticipated, the greatest reactions came when the mental water flowing from the pools in your palms up his arms snaked to wrap around his chest and then it inched further down still to dance around his waist and stomach. Through the process, he had shifted himself ever so slightly closer to you, seeking grounding and comfort in the flourish of feeling that threatened to puff his mind into smoke. Noticing his cute nudging closer, your heart burned with fierce affection for him. You had to hold yourself from releasing his hands to pull him into and embrace. That would be too much; he’s too unused to the process and you’re too unpracticed to keep the flow stable through that action.
Finally, you imagine the long journey of the water making its way over his hips and down his thighs to cover the remaining pieces of his body. All except the head. Saving it for last was generally the best idea for someone’s first time feeling the presence of a soul; the heart is where many emotions are held but the brain has the most ties to the soul. It was much better to prep it before the plunge.
“Sanji, are you doing okay? Ready for the last bit?” you checked.
“Anything you’re willing to give, love, I’ll take,” Sanji mumbled. He sounded pleasantly dazed like a drunk existing half in the waking world and half in dreams. You wished you could open your eyes to see him.
“It’s going to rise up over your head and then it should smooth out,” you explained. A lethargic hum resonating from the depths of his chest was his only response.
The conflicting reactions his body was giving to the river of air around him had begun to center slightly by the time you had spoken. All that progress went out the window when he felt little licks of wind flicking at his neck. He trembled under the electricity they buzzed along his spine, but found himself happy to be at their mercy. He felt so very alive and that in itself was stumping him. Had he been alive? Can you live before knowing a touch that feels so implicit after only a small taste? One of the few pieces of his mind that remembered the Before and that there’s an After to this experience was repeating the daunting fact that this is only the beginning of connecting to a soul. How beautifully terrifying.
More brushes of liquid air played off the skin of his neck and he found himself tilting his head back for more of it. The rise was steady, moving past the stubble of his chin, the ears peeking out from his hair, the ends of his bangs, his curled brows, and he was submerged.
For a split second, the impulse to jump to his feet and run until he was unable to move almost overtook him. He was a lit fuze and needed to burst or surely there would be agony. But agony never came. What came was the comfort of a morning bed on a taskless day. He was surrounded by perfectly radiating body heat in a dark cocoon. The unfamiliar aspect was how he felt like he was sitting underwater, weightless and gently rocking at the whims of a constantly swaying current. He distantly thought that if he’d open his eyes he’d find the dark pits of the ocean yawning around him and all he could find in himself to think of such a haunting notion was ‘how nice’.
Meanwhile, you were much more sure of agreeing to go through this whole thing because of how languid Sanji had become. His hands lay mostly limp in yours, except for the occasional movement of a finger to enjoy the feel of your skin. The little affections burst joy in your heart and made that path of water that your mind held flow richer and with more ease. Knowing he’d need at least several long minutes in this stage, you let yourself relax fully into your own meditation built on your rushing blue visions and his delicately moving fingertips. Just as he had learned to mirror your breaths earlier, your hands took to mimicking his own.
Time was a muddy thing from the moment he fell fully under until the moment his body was coming back to the world. It trickled in gradually, starting with the feeling of the blanket and mattress pad he sat on and ending with the brush of his clothes on his skin when he finally shifted. The great abyss around him shrunk back to the initial feeling of twirling winds over his skin. Unlike the initial feeling, this didn’t send his body and mind reeling; it left him warm and relaxed like a decadent hot oil massage. There was still a sense of being enveloped, though. It had him thinking back to the last time he had fallen asleep wrapped in the arms of another. Despite the easy comparison, there was no unsatiated hunger plaguing him from the closeness. He was at ease.
Sanji’s eyes began to blink open once they were ready, and he was glad they did. In front of him you sat as peaceful as he had ever seen you. Once he was able to move his gaze away from the little shadows your lashes cast onto your cheeks or the enchanting curves of your resting lips, he began fully taking you in. Slowly trailing his eyes over every detail, his heart swelled with love until it pressed a placid smile on his lips. The pieces he most wanted to store away in his mind forever were the content look making your face even more beautiful to him and the sight of his hands held so caringly in your own. He let out a happy sigh as he watched your thumbs trace him once more.
“Sanji?” you called softly.
“Yes, dear?”
“How are you feeling?” He almost laughed at your question.
“I feel wonderful,” he breathed out. You could hear the smile shaping his words and were struck with the bare emotion in his statement. He sounded just like he said.
“Perfect. You’ve done beautifully, sweetheart,” you spoke through your own smile. Even with your eyes closed, you could tell he was preening at your praise.
You lightened up your conscious control of your energy flowing around Sanji. It continued on its path with ease, enough that you were able to let the feeling of its circulation sustain itself instead of needing your imagery. The repetition of it over the long time spent meditating helped you to focus in on what your energy feels like. Usually, that was something too abstract for you to be able to call on straight away. It would take hours and hours more in that sensation before your brain could own and control it with ease. For now, you were good enough to latch onto it once it was there long enough so you fully release the envisioned control by blinking your eyes open.
Sanji was already looking at you. He was no longer flushed and fidgety; every roused edge of him had polished out to a serene shine. The smile stuck on his face was delicate, only pulling his lips to curl enough to press into his cheeks and threaten to crinkle his eyes. Those eyes were half-lidded but still glimmering as they looked back at you. You darted your eyes back to his smile, which now exposed a hint of his teeth between his gently parted lips.
“What now, love?” Sanji asked. He was loath to interrupt the moment, but truly needed to know what he was supposed to do now that he had reached the goal of this whole endeavor. Would you just suck the feeling out right away? Would you pull your hands from his? Would you leave him to process this whole thing alone? Leave him to starve for a taste he’d never get again?
You took one last moment to check him over before deciding to be a little self indulgent. Sure, this would help him ease back out to no soul contact more than just sitting there, but it also wasn’t absolutely necessary. You didn’t think he would mind though.
“I think we could both use a lay down and maybe a nap,” you offered, nodding your head to the side to gesture to the head of the sleeping mat. Now his smile split wide enough to scrunch his eyes.
“You’re going to spoil me rotten, love,” he jokingly admonished, already leaning himself in the direction you’d motioned towards. He wasn’t going anywhere fast though; his body felt as heavy and slow and syrupy as his mind did.
Deciding to expose more of your soft spot for him than usual, you respond, “Good. You do enough spoiling to deserve some in return.”
The fondness in your voice let him know that it was true care offered instead of easy flirting. Hearing you send that tone his way had his supporting arm collapse under him, sending him down to his elbow. Were it any other time, he would’ve tried to hide the slip or recover quickly, but it wasn’t any other time and he simply went with it to finish crawling the short distance to the head of the mat. The movement to get to his side was more flopping than laying, but the shift to his back was at least smoother. Those lovely blue eyes fluttered closed and refused to open.
You kept close to him the whole way, smiling and snorting at his lack of grace under the influence of the new and potent headspace brought on by your own energy. Yes, you wanted to be close anyway, but it was functionally to make it easy to keep him within the swirl of your soul. Once he had surrendered to the position his body ended up in, you began adjusting him to make sure he was as comfortable as possible. An arm was saved from its strange angle, his head was raised and placed on a plush pillow, the most luxurious of your blankets was grabbed to place on him. The whole time Sanji was mumbling sweet pet names along with his thanks.
Ever since you had mentioned sleep, Sanji felt it pulling at him. It only got worse when he moved and laid down. He was existing so sweetly in a waking dream, stuck half-lucid in a body that was being tended by your very soul. He thanked whatever lucky stars were up there and shot a “thank you” to whatever past life had earned him this; he didn’t think it could get any better than the bone deep contentment that saturated him.
That was until you laid down next to him and started snuggling into his right side.
The feeling of your warm and soft body shifting into him until you molded perfectly against each other had one more flurry of tingles and skipping heartbeats work through him. Your cheek was nestled against the top of his pec and you were happy to find that the fabric of his dress shirt felt soft against your skin. The arm that laid over him was reached out so that your hand could rest on the shoulder opposite your head. The whispering sound of your skin brushing over the fabric of his pants filled the air as you bent your right leg just enough to nestle in between his. You couldn’t help the deep, contented sigh that left you at the pleasant feeling of his thick thighs cradling one of yours. You had nearly forgotten to pull the blanket up over the two of you with how harshly the drain from concentrating and moving your energy had started to hit you. It didn’t help that Sanji was just as enviously comfortable as he looked.
Sanji drank in every touch you offered with satisfaction and serenity. Every single one seemed to solidify the heaven that wrapped his every sense in comfort and peace. His left hand managed to make its way up and hold the hand you had rested on his shoulder. His right was placed down lovingly on your waist. You mumbled something that could’ve been “sweet dreams” and he mumbled back with just as much clarity.
With your last waking action, you gave him a gentle squeeze then fully relaxed your body into his. Sanji stayed conscious for as long as he could, basking in the feeling of being truly held.

Thoughts on the live action one piece
Spoilers 😉
Yes, I binged all 8 episodes, and have work today and can’t see out my eyes but worth it.
I’ll try to keep it short.
Luffys character was immaculate. The way Inaki portrayed him and brought this man to life was so amazing to see. Oda really saw Luffy in him and he did not disappoint. The moves looked great, CGI was on point for a live action, and they really did break the curse.
Zoro’s character was beautiful. I love that he was more serious, and him throwing up the finger in his first scene?! I’m star struck. You can say what you want about the live action, but theres no denying this cast was perfect for these characters and the fight scenes were choreographed to the point where it looked so clean.
Nami 🥳 The emotion! The conflict! I absolutely love the way she had more action scenes and was more open with her care for the crew early on. Nami has always been my favourite character, and Emily did her justice.
I will be listening to her song on repeat.
Ussop! Ussop! Are you serious! Why do I love you in every reality! And Ussop and Kaya! The kiss! The scream I let out! I died😵💫 I wish he had more shooting scenes, but his true potential wasn’t seen until later in the anime so I can’t complain, cause season two Ussop is gonna pop off.
Sanji😳 First off, live action Sanji has a hold on me😮💨 Like what happened to the guy who couldn’t get any girls. Ngl, was keeping an eye out for the blonde at table 8, looking out for my competition👀 His kicks were so smooth and all, and I mean ALL, his fight scenes were perfect. Like how did they do this. You can see the care and effort he put into his character.
Buggy? I love our unhinged clown. His making a circus with trapped towns people. His CGI? Amazing. The little goof we were left with when they trapped his parts in the chest made me cackle!
The pacing of the show was done so well. I was worried that 8 episodes wouldn’t be enough (and I was right where’s season two I want Vivi), but the retelling was more then I hoped for. I will always love the anime more, as most of us know there’s not enough episodes in the series, but the live action did great in that respect. I did miss some of the characters they had to cut to make it flow better though. The ussop pirates live on in our hearts
Don’t get me wrong, there was some scenes I missed from the original show, like Zoro lifting Luffy’s cage, Nami burning her hands on Buggys cannon fuse, Nami stabbing Ussop. BUT, they wouldn’t have fit in this version of the show.
They did give us Zoro lifting the safe like he did Luffys cage which was cool. And Nami holding Ussops hand when Zoro was fighting, Nami showing up for the fight rather then leaving. I love her. Even though Nami didn’t get to show her care through the actions of saving Zoro or stabbing her own hand, she was still able to show those emtions through different actions. The hand holding with Ussop rather then the stabbing of her hand was so good to see. This version of Nami seemed more fragile in a way, so this suited her version well.
It was like watching One Piece for the first time all over again. I didn’t know what would happen. Getting more marines, and Garps relationship to Luffy being revealed so early in the series to cause tension within the crew *chef’s kiss* And Koby? ‘Be a good pirate.’? Like I love you? Not doing what Garp asked? Standing up for his beliefs? You are going to be a good Marine. You’ll be the greatest 💕
The relationships they explored?
First off Ussop and Kaya 😵 I love them so much. Them talking to the straw hats about their relationship was so cute, and Zoro saying it wasn’t his area of expertise 💅🏻✨ Jokes 👀
Nami being besties with Kaya😍 Her telling Kaya not to let someone tell her how to run her life, drawing connections to her own situation, telling Kaya not to be trapped. Her returning the treasure! I loved it so much. Ussop’s and Nami’s friendship has always been the one I cherished in the crew, and for Nami to support Kaya, and Ussop to see how Nami was good to his girl I feel will only strengthen their relationship.
Nami and Zoro besties? Didn’t know I could love them more.
Nami caring so much for Zoro after his fight with Mihawk showed her love for her new friends, and mirrored her care she had in the original series where she saved him from drowning at Arlong park. Even though we didn’t get the original scenes, they were supplemented with new scenes that held the same feelings.
Zosan- I mean Zoro and Sanji. The wings of the pirate king? I love their bickering in any universe it seems. The fish men fight was so good, them being unbothered with the guys trying to kill them as they fought with each other was so them. And Zoro licking his plate clean and saying Sanji’s food was okay? Not bad for a waiter huh?
And the most important pair. Captain and his first mate. I just loved how many times they reiterated that Zoro is Luffys right hand man 🥰 Luffy not stepping in the way of Zoros dream was beautiful, and his care afterwards reminded me of how he cared for Nami when she got sick in the original series. Asking Sanji to cook his favourite? So cute. He couldn’t decide if it was best for Zoro to eat or sleep or drink and him stressing for Zoro. All amazing. I’ve used amazing so many times but its just the word I need to explain it. Zoro waking up, Luffy engulfing him. I could go on and on.
Nami and Luffy? The amount of love I have for them. They were everything I wanted from them. The scene. THE scene. Beautiful.
I could go on and on about this show, but sadly I have work. Please show this version love, and don’t go into expecting the same series. It is different. It’s its own version and deserves its own category.
I love the cast! Thank you for making history with this adaptation! Xx

For Danny Ric! I'm so exited! Fluff 1, Promt 8. I think a debate over the music playing on the car radio would be great. I love Danny's roadtrip vibes.

You're on a road trip with Daniel, cruising down a scenic highway with the windows rolled down, the wind tousling your hair. Daniel's driving, one hand on the wheel and the other resting on your thigh. The sky is a perfect blue, dotted with fluffy white clouds, and the road ahead is open and inviting. The landscape rushes by in a blur of greens and browns as he drives a little over the speed limit, the hum of the wind providing a soothing background noise.
"Okay, music," you declare, reaching for your phone.
Daniel raises an eyebrow, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. "Wait a second, I'm the one driving. Driver gets to choose music right?"
You chuckle, shaking your head. "I know you're used to driving alone, but the unwritten rule of road trips is passenger has the aux control."
"Oh really?" he challenges, glancing at you with mock seriousness. "I think the driver needs the tunes to stay focused."
"Yeah, well, the passenger needs to keep the driver entertained," you retort, connecting your phone to the aux.
Daniel lets out a dramatic sigh, rolling his eyes in exaggerated exasperation. "I'm the one doing all the work here, steering us safely to our destination. That means I should choose the songs too."
You cross your arms, feigning stubbornness. "That makes no sense, Danny. I'm the one keeping you company, making sure you don't fall asleep at the wheel."
He scoffs, "with your choice of songs, I will definitely fall asleep at the wheel."
You gasp, holding your phone close to your chest. "I could say the same about your taste. You listen to country music."
"Don't disrespect good ol' tunes, darling. You just want to play that one song on repeat," he stated, glancing at you and flashing a grin.
"It's a great song!" you insist, mirroring his grin.
"Great for making me doze off," he teases, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Come on, you know my playlist is solid. It's got everything we need for a perfect road trip," he adds, slightly squeezing your thigh.
You become too aware of his hand resting on your thigh, and in the heat of your debate, you move it away, earning a frown from him.
"Sure, if we want to turn this into a country-western saga," you retorted, unable to suppress a smile. "Besides, variety is necessary. We can't be stuck listening to the same kind of songs for hours."
Daniel laughs, his hand finding his way back on your thigh as he gives in. "Fine, fine, let's settle this. Name a song that's a must for any road trip."
You both throw out suggestions, each defending your choices with increasing passion. The debate grows more animated as you argue over the best songs to keep you both entertained and awake. Daniel insists on the classics he loves, especially since it's a countryside road trip, while you disagreed, encouraging other artists. Back and forth you banter, poking fun at the other's taste in music, even though it wasn't a serious issue.
Finally, you realize how absurd the argument is and burst out laughing simultaneously.
"This is ridiculous," you manage to say between giggles. "We're debating over who plays the songs."
"Exactly," Daniel agrees, wiping a tear from the corner of his eye that slipped out while laughing. "We're wasting time when we could've been enjoying some good music."
"Alright, how about we compromise?" you suggest, still chuckling. "We alternate between our songs."
"Deal," he agrees, extending a hand for a shake while steering with the other.
You clasp his hand, nodding formally as you seal the agreement. Daniel takes the first pick, choosing a song he enjoys. As the familiar beats fill the car, you cover your ears playfully, but the smile on your face tells him it's all in jest. You both sing along, creating your own little concert on wheels.
When the song ends, you take your turn, choosing a track that's currently your favourite. Daniel groans, having heard the song too many times to count, but he can't resist singing along with you. The rest of the drive is filled with a perfect mix of your favorite songs. Even though you both complain every time the other picks a song, you still sing along to each one, enjoying every moment.

CHAPTER 1
summary: In which a spilt drink leads to a very awkward reunion and a drunken piece of pizza. WC: 6.3k ゚ ⋆ ゚ ☂︎ ⋆ ゚
The surface of the bar is tacky under your forearms from spilled beer and mixed drinks. You lean up against the surface as others bump into your back, half listening to Aaron's non-stop rambling about the job his uncle set him up at. His company was fine- one of Flash's basketball buddies from high school remembered for being obnoxious in your junior english class. You're barely paying attention and more preoccupied with trying to get the bartender's attention. At least then you would be able to escape the sweaty bodies pressed against your back.
Lazy Dog Saloon, a divey place nestled in Hell's Kitchen, had become Midtown high. Most of the class of 2014 had graduated from their prospective 4 year undergrad programs last week. Some returned to New York for a mini vacation before they began the next chapter in their lives while some had never left at all.
You were part of the second group.
NYU seemed like a safe choice at the time your college applications were due. The program you wanted was there and you knew that it was close enough to Queens that you felt like you'd gotten away, but not far enough that you felt like you were on the other side of the country.
Aaron continues to drone on, the sound of his voice fading with the sound of the eighties song playing over the speakers. Your shoulders sag in relief when the bartender sits down your vodka soda in front of you, sticking a dried out lime on the rim. He takes the $8 in cash you hold out to him and mumble out a thanks but he is already moving to the next person. Not that you care. You had your prize in hand and could finally return to your friends drunkenly lounging in their booth.
That was until Aarons animated hand gestures sent your drink out of your hand down the front of the shirt of the guy beside you.
"Fuck! I am so sorry," you rush out, half turning to reach over Aaron and grab a few flimsy paper napkins. You also shoot Aaron the dirtiest look you can muster at which he grimaces. "I feel horrible- god. I am so-"
Had there not been a steady stream of booze fluttering through your veins, you could play it a lot cooler than you do. Thankfully, Peter Parker isn’t able to play it much cooler either. The second your eyes met his big brown ones, they manage to somehow get bigger, his eyebrows rising towards his hairline before his lips thinned in distaste.
“... sorry…” The word comes out as a breath while his presence seems to be the only thing that you can be aware of. It’s like the sight of him is screaming inside your head.
Peter’s heart throws itself for a loop before dropping down into his stomach. He knows that voice all too well and he hates how much he still yearns to hear it again.
We both seemed to collect ourselves at the same time; he clears his throat while you look down at the spot on his shirt where the gray fabric is dark. With a shake of his head, he waives away your apology with his hand. “Don't- it’s fine, it’s fine.” He tries to mutter the words with a smile that barely classifies as anything more than a wince. “I don’t even like this shirt anyway.”
You can’t seem to get yourself to move. Not even when he gently slips the napkins out of your clenched fists so he can try and clean himself up. That, in turn, just makes you feel worse, but then again, maybe he just doesn’t want you to touch him.
Not after our six years of friendship fizzled out like a burning candle that finally reached the end of its wick.
“Nice one,” Aaron chuckles near your ear, his elbow nudging your arm teasingly. This was not the time for jokes. Not when it felt like I was staring at a ghost. The ghost of someone very much alive. Giving the red head a shove and a scowl, you hiss at him under your breath to shut up before turning back to Peter.
“I am so sorry. Seriously. This was all my fault. I… can I help?” You're clearly apologetic. It’s clear from the concern in your voice and the embarrassed look on your face.
Peter’s eyes find the ceiling so quickly that you can’t tell if the pink on his face is real or just a hallucination from the tequila shot Flash had forced on you earlier. You could’ve sworn you’d forgotten what he sounded like over the past four years. After hearing it again, your memories come flooding back all at once. Except this isn’t a memory. This is real. Peter Parker is standing right there as he wipes at his shirt. Gone is the gangly kid with perpetual untamable hair and skinned elbows from nose diving off his skateboard and in his place is someone he gracefully grew into.
“Seriously. It’s fine. It was an accident.” His hand waves awkwardly again as he drops the napkins into the trash. The smile he gives you is strained and brief but he tries anyway so he can drop the conversation. “No, it’s really alright. I think those did the trick. This shirt has gone through worse.”
You are sure you look as pathetic as you feel. Eyes wide and brow furrowed enough that the crease between them could’ve been a damn canyon. Once upon a time, you knew him better than you knew yourself. Once upon a time, the two of you could have stayed quiet for hours and still known exactly what the other was thinking.
Now? At least you knew that him saying it was fine was a load of garbage.
“Are you sure? I can ask the bartender for a towel? Or-”
He knows that look. It was the same damn look you always used to give him when you felt really bad about something. It would settle on your face when you were going to do any stupid thing you could to try and fix it.
“I’m sure,” he interjects in the hopes that you believe him- or at least pretend to. That you will just let it go, return back to Katie and Flash so you can tell them you dumped your drink on him. The three of you could laugh it up like you did in high school.
“It’s fine. I promise. Just…” he takes a deep breath and glances down at his wet shirt before finally glancing up at your face. He tries to think of something to say. At that moment, the bartender decides to drop the beer he had ordered earlier onto the counter. Peter mutters a thanks, grabbing it in one hand while digging for cash that's shoved in his front pocket to exchange it.
Before you can get another word out, he sighs, “Really. It’s fine. I can deal with it.” Peter's words are short and almost sharp. It was nothing different than how things had been between the two of you for the past eight years.
You open your mouth to protest but he is already slipping through the crowd. Drunk patrons fill the empty space within seconds so they can raise their blood alcohol content. Aaron tries to laugh it off, clapping you on the shoulder while you’re too busy staring at the back of Peter’s head disappearing around the corner.
There are two roads or whatever bullshit.
You blame it on the booze. The white claw you had sipped when you and Katie had gotten ready was the reason that you’d shrugged off Aarons hand. The extremely potent and barely drinkable margarita Flash made you at the pregame was the reason you started to slip through the crowd after him. The reason you burst through the doors of the boys bathroom without a second thought was- okay, so maybe it was also just who you were.
“Please. Let me do something to fix this,” you urge, ignoring the strange look from the man slipping around you to exit the bathroom. You also ignore the shocked look Peter gives your reflection of the dirty mirror in front of him.
“Nuh uh. No.” He practically gasps, spinning around and yanking out paper towels to hurriedly dry his hands. He has to get you out of here before you get yourself thrown out of the freaking bar.
You shoot him a look. You will stay in this bathroom all night if that was what it took… to fix… his shirt.
“Grow up Parker, it’s a boy’s bathroom. There are stalls. I’m not even crawling under one!” Your hands move as you speak while his hands find your shoulders. His touch is gentle but his face is panicked. You don’t stop him from spinning you around, guiding you out the door even when you turn your head back so you can face him.
“Look. I just want to make sure I didn’t ruin your night because I feel like a total asshole. It was an accident and now I feel your night is ruined because you're all damp and smelling like vodka.” Peter focuses on maneuvering you through the crowd. He doesn’t have the heart (or the guts) to admit that his shirt being soaked with vodka is the least of his concerns. It is *how* it got soaked in the first place. That was the real issue.
No. The real issue was you. Your presence. The fact he had to touch you right now as he manages to avoid letting anyone collide with you since you are too focused on rambling.
“Okay, you didn’t ruin my night.” The words are practically a groan of exasperation in the hopes you will just drop this. That you will just return to your cool friends and you could all go and laugh at how uncool he is.
“No?” You ask flatly, your eyebrow rising in skepticism as you try to twist around to look at him better over your shoulder. He is more concerned with keeping any drunk people from slamming into me or vice versa. “Because I feel like I did. I feel like I definitely ruined your night and you’re just telling me that I didn’t, just so I drop it and I don't let it eat away at my brain for the rest of my life.”
Because it will. I will certainly lose sleep over it.
Peter can feel his heart race as he listens to you. He has to bite his tongue to keep himself from screaming that you’d ruined his life, not his night.
”Just-“ he grumbles, rolling his eyes as he guides you around another group of drunks dancing against the wall. Never has he been more thankful for the fabric of your dress to keep his skin from yours. Even with the buffer, he feels like he is burning alive. He wishes he didn’t care that you were upset at the prospect of him being upset.
Afterall, you probably haven’t spared him a second though since high school graduation.
Not in the way he has thought about you.
Even though it’s mid-May, the nights lack the warmth that the days hold. The cool air feels good on your flushed cheeks. The alley is quiet, tucked between the bar and a closed up nail salon seated next door and the space is filled with the muffled hum of liquor filled banter.
You manage to twist around and plant yourself in front of him. He drops his hold on you but meets your wide and earnest eyes.
“Peter, all I’m saying is that I want to make it better. Yeah, I know,” you throw up your hands, letting their movements animate your words. “Yes, I’m aware that vodka sodas are only moderately pungent. And -yes. It wasn’t even that much- but still! I feel bad. Really bad. There has to be something I can do to make it right.”
Peter can feel his heart picking up again, his brain desperately trying to comprehend that after all these years - after *six years*, you were in front of him, telling him that you feel bad?
He can’t help but shake his head before quickly interjecting. “You don’t-” with a huff, he presses his palms against his face, like it will give him a moment to try and think clearly. They move up to his hair, shoving it off his forehead as he finally forces himself to actually look down at you. His voice is low and tired. “You don’t have to do anything about it. I promise. It was an accident, alright? Besides, I don’t even like that shirt that much.”
That’s a lie. It is his favorite shirt.
No one says anything for a long moment. You’re too busy studying his face for what is actually going on inside his head. He is too busy trying to force himself not to look away. Too many things hang in the foot of space between your bodies. You either can’t find, or can’t find the courage to pluck something out of the air and say something of substance.
Something that matters.
So your face softens and you opt for the cowards approach.
“You okay?”
A muscle in his jaw tenses which makes his expression look more grim. “I’m fine,” he grumbles, looking away to stare at a broken bottle, not wanting to hold your gaze anymore. He’d spent the past eight years pretending that the you-sized hole in his life had been filled with things like Spider-Man, The Bugle and his Bio-Physics degree he’d obtained last week. But now that you’re standing right here, it felt like it was somehow bigger.
Just like that, you realize that, even if he had been the one to guide the two of you out here, away from prying eyes and drunk chatter, it was your doing. You might well have been the one to drag him out the door by his hair. Your face falls when you realize he likely did it because he doesn’t think you’d want to be seen talking to him in public.
You frown at the floor and wrap your arms around yourself like you’re just trying to keep out the cool air.
“Sorry,” you murmur. It’s the best thing you can think to say. Peter looks at you, peeking up and taking notice of the little movements and gestures you make to try and smooth over the awkwardness. It reminds him of high school. Back in the middle of freshman year when you started on the edge of the circle of cheerleaders, working up the courage to belong before you eventually found yourself in the center senior year.
“It’s fine,” he says halfheartedly. In reality, it’s not fine, far from it, but… His hands curl and uncurl into fists at his side, trying to suppress the urge to reach for you.
“No, it's not.”
You’re not talking about the spilled drink anymore. You’re not even talking about the dissipation of your friendship at the start of high school. In some way, it all comes down to high school graduation four years ago.
There's a clarity to the loud sounds inside the bar as someone slips out the back door, too preoccupied with trying to light a cigarette as they head towards the street. When the door shuts again, it feels even quieter out here. Peter and you don’t say anything as they pass by and out of sight.
But neither of you return inside either.
“I shouldn’t have done that. That was…” you trail off, eyes finding the sky under pinched brows as you think. “Invasive? Presumptuous? Meddlesome?” A strained laugh falls from your mouth and cuts through the quiet. “Sorry. Vodka seriously inhibits my memory of vocabulary words.”
You don’t expect him to laugh. So when he lets out a snort and shakes his head, you find the courage to actually look at him from the corner of your eye. He’s not smiling but the little quirk of his lip might as well be a shit eating grin with how relieved it makes you feel.
“You’re drunk.” It is neither a question or statement, or both. You can't really tell.
Your nose scrunches up in thought before you settle on, “I would go with tipsy.” The toe of your shoe scuffs against the pavement and he shoves his hands in his front pockets. “I’m not sure how that’s legally determined or if there even is a way to legally determine that but…yeah. Sure. Let's go with tipsy.”
“You’re wasted,” he snorts again, only this time it sounds even more like a laugh than before.
Your mouth drops in mock offense, eyes pulling back towards his own. Something on his face catches in the light and he looks like he could almost glow in the dark but he’s forcing it down.
“Drunk is a strong word. More like… very tipsy.”
“I think we can go with sloshed instead.” Peter raises an eyebrow, his mouth curling upwards with amusement.
The roll of your eyes is dramatic and playful. Before you get the chance to shoot back, a vibrating and painful sound of an alarm from your purse interrupts you. He almost wonders if it’s a phone call, but when you retrieve it, press the screen and check the time, it’s almost relieving. Not that it didn’t interrupt the moment anyway.
“Shit,” you frown before sticking your phone back. “I really gotta get out of here. I told myself I’d be home by 1:30 since I’m meeting my parent’s for brunch.”
You’re leaving? It’s the first thought that crosses his mind and it has him on edge. For the first time in years, the two of you are alone together. Just the two of you, hidden away in an alley and having an actual conversation.
And it’s already over.
“You’re taking the train back now,” he asks with slight concern. His fingers fall from his hair so he can rub at his forehead. You were a New Yorker. Everyone took the subway. You were just a New Yorker that was determined to take the subway alone at 1 am on a Saturday while drunk in a short dress.
A skeptical smile tugs at your mouth. His concern isn’t shocking. He’d always been like that. Cautious and worried about the safety of others. It was why he always got his ass kicked in high school.
It just wasn’t something you experienced in a long time.
“Umm… Yeah?” Shrugging, you retrieve your phone from your purse to shoot off a text to Katie and Flash that you’re heading home. Peter opens his mouth to say something before thinking better of it. It wasn’t that he didn’t think you could handle yourself. The last thing he needed was to piss you off in this one moment of a truce.
“My apartment’s not that far anyway,” you continue as a little thumbs up appears by your text in the group chat. The phone returns to your bag amongst your wallet and lip gloss. He is already looking at you when you lift your head up to look at him.
For a moment, he kind of looks like he is 11 years old again. Like you half expect him to smile and reveal his canine tooth is still growing in. That he’ll give you the same grin through the glass of your bedroom window when the two of you were long supposed to be asleep. How he would invite you to crawl out and to accompany him to the subway because he liked it when you watched him try and skateboard in an empty train. At first, you would always hiss out ‘no’s’ which would only make him whine your name from his spot on the windowsill. Eventually, you’d relent because you always did. Then you would spend breakfast with your parents exhausted and biting down on a smile from sitting on the secret events from the night before.
“Wait, you’re taking the subway alone?” he asks, his eyebrows furrowing even more than they already were before shooting upwards. He steps closer but doesn’t actually invade your space.
Alone, intoxicated, and all the way home… in a short dress…
Your own eyebrows raise in challenge. Even if you try not to look defensive, you can't help the way your arms fold over your chest and you settle back on your hip. You’ve lived in New York as long as he has, which is your entire life.
You could easily take the subway alone. It was something you’d done a million times and you were sure he had done it as much too.
A little bit of alcohol wasn’t enough to stop you and force you to waste money on a cab.
“Yeah…”
“Okay,” he sighs and you relax, both of your shoulders sagging in relief for different reasons. “I’m making sure you get home.” The words slip out and he doesn’t even think to hold them back.
You open your mouth to argue, but he continues speaking, his hands raising in surrender. “I’m sure you do it all the time but, I mean… I just…you’re drunk.”
“Not drunk. Very tipsy,” you mutter under your breath but there's no hint of actually putting up a fight. Considering your options, you look up towards the night sky like you’ll find some sort of argument hidden up amongst the stars. There are no stars. Just heavy looking clouds that hang above Manhattan with the umpteenth threat of rain this week. You don’t find one. Making a face, you know he has a point.
Odds were, you would probably be fine walking the few blocks to the subway and taking it a couple of stops towards your apartment. There was always that chance that you wouldn’t be.
The problem was that your apartment was out of the way. How did you know that? Peter lived with Ned. Ned Leeds, the same Ned Leeds that had been following Katie around from the age of five until now like a love sick puppy that rambled horribly in her presence about every detail of his life. So yes, the fact he and Peter were roommates had come up plenty of times when you and your current roommate bumped into Ned. Just like he had, in excruciating detail, explained exactly where he lived in case Katie ever happened to be in the area.
“You’re just going to tag along all the way to East village… at one in the morning… and then… trek all the way back to your place?” You shake your head. “I can’t ask you to do that.”
“You aren’t asking. I’m offering.”
The prospect of your safety overrides any arguments he could possibly make.
If he stays here and something happens to you, he wouldn’t be able to live with himself.
A guilty expression flashes in his eyes at the thought, that little *what if.* It had been replaying in his head since he got bit by that spider when he was sixteen. How the thought of where you were and what you were doing flashed through his mind anytime there was a large-scale disaster threatening New York. There were a few times it got so bad, he’d had to swing by your apartment- not in a stalker way! Just so he could know you were fine.
Besides, he only knew because your mom told Aunt May, who then mentioned it to him.
When you don’t say anything, he nods towards the mouth of the alley. “Come on.” He’s already walking towards the street, spinning on his heels and walking backwards. “It’s fine. I’ll take a cab home or something quicker than the subway.”
Something quicker than the subway and isn’t a cab? All you can do is snort as you scramble to catch up beside him. Now you just feel worse as you step onto the sidewalk. Not only does he probably resent you for the end of our friendship eight years ago and the… incident four years ago on the night of graduation, now he has to go out of his way so I don’t get murdered walking home.
“Really Pete,” you urge. The nickname falls from your lips like second nature. “It’s okay. I’m good.”
He shakes his head and turns to raise an eyebrow at your statement. You’re not good. Even if you're not stumbling black out drunk, the pink flush on your cheeks and the wide eyes are dead giveaways of your impairment. As much as he wants to hold your hand, to throw an arm over your shoulders like when the both of you were kids, he doesn’t. But he does let his hand hover behind the small of your back as you manage to find the same pace.
“I’d rather not be worried the rest of the weekend. Think of it as satiating my restless mind,” he jokes, giving you a playful look.
It’s much quieter out here and there is space to take a breath. There’s still people mulling around as they make their way home or to the next stop of their Saturday night. No one pays the two of you much attention as your pace slows to a more leisurely one.
“First of all, not drunk. Very tipsy,” you huff. “And second of all…” Peter stretches his arms behind his head while you try to think of a good point aside from the fact that you feel bad.
For a lot of things.
“You’ll be walking alone too at three in the morning!”
“And I can handle that. I’m a big boy, remember?”
There it is. That stupid lopsided grin he’d always shoot you anytime he knew he was wearing you down. When he knew you had already given in but were hoping he would drop it before you caved. You make a face that screams ‘spare me’ and scoff. The dirty look quickly threatens to be a smile and he knows you’re all in now.
“We’ll take the train, I’ll walk you home. We can even grab a slice of pizza. My treat. For old times sake?” With a shake of your head, the sigh you make is answer enough. Your answer is a yes. Just like it always was.
Okay, and maybe it's more than fine and doesn’t feel like that much of a chore.
He takes the opportunity to grab your hand so he can drag you along. The action is like muscle memory and he doesn’t realize he is doing it until you falter. You note that his hands are rougher but that makes sense considering he’s 23 years old and no longer a 14 year old kid. It’s not like you have to admit out loud that you like it. That you’d missed it. So before he can really realize what he’s doing, you commit to it.
“Only if we can take it on the road,” you say pointedly with a look to match. “I meant what I said earlier. I really need to get home so I don’t oversleep and miss brunch. My parent’s will kill me.”
Giving you a tug forward, he snorts, “Then by all means. Let's go.”
The foot traffic around is nothing like a work week morning. No hustling of business men in suits or bustling women in sharp blazers clicking down the sidewalk. The night holds its own excitement now that the weather is survivable without an actual coat and gloves. Summer is approaching and it seems to stir people out of their homes and out later than usual.
Aside from the copious amounts of rain plaguing the past week.
It was nice. Your hands are clasped together so you can keep up and he can make sure he doesn't lose you. At least that’s what the both of you tell yourselves as you settle into the familiar warmth of each other's palms and the sense of comfort they still bring after eight years.
The last time you two had touched was four years ago.
Back when his hands had found themselves tangled in your hair so he could tilt your head back further and-
“How about my treat,” you offer, leaning your head forward to look at the side of his face since he’s a step ahead of you. “Because I’m the one ruining your night.”
Peter just shakes his head and shrugs in hopes to dissolve some of your concern. “Don’t worry about it. My night isn’t ruined. You’re worth it.”
Those words make you stumble, tripping over your own feet like the world was just thrown out of orbit and he doesn’t seem to notice. It’s the last thing you expect him to say. For a moment, you wonder if maybe you were so drunk that you were hallucinating.
But no. He said it.
Your silence makes him squeeze his eyes shut and hold in a curse. It was a stupid thing to say after eight years of distance. Right after grabbing your freaking hand like things were all fine and dandy between you. If he could take it back, he would. Instead, he manages to remain looking unbothered so you wont realize that even just your silence was enough to feel like a punch to the gut.
“As long as you’re sure,” you chuckle lamely, looking down to smooth your dress as you reel in your emotions and stand a little straighter; make your movements as sure as yourself as you can pretend to be. Because the truth is, walking with him, having him tug you along and being in his presence is enough to make you sure of absolutely nothing.
Not when you thought he would still hate you for making more friends at the start of high school. Back when you joined cheerleading on a whim and your classmates started to actually see you. Your classmates actually waved at you when you walked through the halls. They would sit by you in class and turn in their seats so you were included in the conversation. Friday nights were spent at football games before the whispers of an after party in the quarterbacks basement were no longer whispers and became actual invitations.
When you didn’t eat, sleep, and breathe Peter Parker like you had as a child. It wasn’t like you had woken up one day and gotten sick of him. You just slowly realized that maybe you could have more than just one person at your side.
“I am so sure,” he reassures, dropping your hold and slowing to a stop in front of a late night pizza shop. “I’m pretty sure I owe you money for something I broke when we were in elementary school. So yeah, I’m sure.” This time when he smiles bashfully back at you, you mirror him. Somehow that makes some of the tenseness traveling between your connected arms start to resolve.
Peter has spent the last eight years wondering what he did wrong.
Did you just get bored? Were the stories he was telling you just not enough? Did you grow tired of him dragging you into trouble? Was the feel of being seen by the rest of the world more gratifying than his eyes alone?
So many questions without answers.
For eight years they had plagued his mind, kept him up at night and eating at the back of his brain during the day.
The two of you chat in line which is a solid eight drunk people deep. Drunk conversation and the sound of the workers drowns out how easy it is to fall back into joking around. There are stalls in the conversation where neither of you have an immediate response but the recovery is quick enough that there's no suffocating awkward silence.
And it is then that you realize that being in his presence makes you miss him more than you had during the eight years of radio silence. From the way he rocks back and forth on his feet while making sure you order your slice first, you miss him. When you try to pay, he smoothly snatches your wallet out of your hands, not even missing a beat in his conversation with the teenager at the register as he hands him cash.
Once you both receive pizza slices bigger than your heads, grease seeping through the paper plates as you take the long way to the subway entrance.
You happily take a big bite, speaking around a mouthful of dough, cheese, and tomato. “I mean it. You were always horrible at saving money when we were kids.”
He scoffs and rolls his eyes which just makes it harder to chew around the smile straining your lips. There’s really no rush as you walk side by side without paying attention to where you're going. Eventually an entrance to the subway will appear.
“Oh, I’m sorry, what was that? I couldn’t hear you over the sound of you being so, very wrong.” Once he makes sure that there is not a drop of grease on his free hand, he playfully gives your head a shove. You make a sound of protest that quickly turns to one of amusement while trying to smooth your hair.
“I am not and you know it,” you shoot back and he responds with a dramatic waive of his hand. “You would always want ice cream or a comic book. Then you’d try and give me puppy dog eyes and promise you’d pay me back. I always gave in”
And he always paid you back. Eventually. Sometimes all at once or by leaving a crumpled up five in your backpack or taping a ten dollar bill to your window.
“I did not try puppy dog eyes,” he protests with his mouth full, chewing in a hurry so he can swallow. “Plus, I was the one funding all of the trouble we got into. And I was cute. Cut me some slack.”
Never had he been so glad to bail on a night of patrol so Ned could drag him to some dinghy bar just to watch Ned botch attempt number five million and six to woo Katie into falling in love with him.
Once we are finished, you dust the crumbs and grease from your fingertips and toss the plate into the trash. He’s been done for a while and you don't hesitate to grab his own plate and send it following mine into the dumpster.
“That’s because I was always better at saving money. If I hadn’t been, how was I supposed to treat you to snacks?”
Peter snickers, “You were definitely not better at saving your money than me.”
“Was too-”
“Nuh uh,” he cuts you off with a sarcastically smug expression. “Remember when you blew all your lunch money on those gum ball machines. The ones with the little rubber pencil toppers inside? You skipped lunch for over a week in hopes of getting that crab one.”
When he looks over at you and sees how your lips curl in an amused smile as you stare ahead, he bites down on his grin but it still feels white hot on his face.
Wherever you two have meandered to is much quieter. Cars are not passing down the road and most people still out at this hour are sticking to the well lit streets with more foot traffic.
“Oh my god. My mom was so mad at me when she found out.” You throw your head back to laugh at the memory. It feels good. It feels right to be here right now. “She found out because you told May that my mom was too busy that week to make me lunch so she’d put an extra sandwich in your lunch box for you to give me.”
Peter opens his mouth to speak but cuts himself off with a look of concentration.
Something is off.
His footsteps slow, yours following when a big burly man in a black fitted shirt steps into your path from the entrance of a long closed restaurant. It wasn’t just a passerby. You can tell from the way his attention is fixated on Peter. The guy's narrowed eyes move to size you up.
Not that you were a threat.
Another man steps out behind you, a third crossing the street and approaching. Muggers. That’s your first thought. It wasn’t terribly uncommon in a city like this, especially given the time and day. You quickly figure out this isn’t a chance of opportunity when the man standing a few feet in front of you speaks.
“Peter Parker?” He tilts his head, features dark from the lack of street lamps but there was no mistaking the glint in his eye. That was enough for Peter to step closer to you. He keeps you half behind him, an arm going out to keep his body between yours and theirs. There was more than one threat to worry about. The other two approach and settle in their own spots so they can circle you against the wall. Peter tries to have his head turned enough to keep the other two men in his peripheral vision.
You tell yourself to stay calm, that everything is going to be fine.
That voice in your head has to scream that at you when you see the flash of the gun dangling in the guy's hand.

so today I had the wonderful opportunity of info dumping the entirety of the undertale multiverse to my friends with no knowledge of the base game (and they actually listening and were interested???!!) ...and this made me realize how truly insane of a fandom UTMV has.
Like... everything we base our discussions on...all the work we pour our hearts into...is fanfiction. Fanfiction (bad sanses and star sanses, the whole X-event) based off of fanfiction (AUs) based off of a random indie game made by Toby Fox and Temmie Chang (Undertale).
Nothing is canon, which makes everything canon...and all work of these characters interacting are purely speculation. There are hundreds, if not thousands of random people online contributing to this massive collection of media, building on existing concepts and branching off each other like a huge mutated tree.
It's almost like tiers to an iceberg in the Undertale fandom. On the surface there is Undertale, the base game made by Toby Fox and Temmie Chang, with some type of normalcy where there is a strict (albeit debated) canon. Go deeper, and there are AUs, fanworks making parallel universes. They hold their own 'canons' and are usually created by 1 or more people. Then you go off the deep end and fall into the Undertale Multiverse (UTMV), where the characters (usually Sanses) break out of there AUs and interact with each other, even breaking away from the base game entirely to fit around the concept of a 'multiverse' where there are creations and we are creators. Canonicity is completely abandoned, everything is in the hands of anyone willing to make art through song, animation, writing, etc. And it runs DEEP.
wtf

And feel free to tag me for any more little challenges or prompts you had because I absolutely loved this one. <3
(Psst..... The song of this imagine is - Carried Me With You)
Enjoy! (pssst, song choice is -Carried Me With You- Listen and read for a top tier experience lovies.)
The Build A Bear employee looks extremely suspicious when Jake brings the empty coat of a bear up to her, a fake smile plastered from ear to ear as he holds it out as if he just ran into the woods to hunt it himself.
Honestly he was sure he looked like a massive freak, from the 20 minutes he spent looking at all the display bears to choose and up to now where he probably looked like he had been one of Jokers goons in Batman. But he couldn’t help it, he was doing his very best not to breakdown and cry in front of this poor teen.
She blinks up at him, back to the bear, and then back to him.
“This is the bear you’ve chosen?” That one question has him debating everything, eyes widening as he pulls it back to himself quickly.
“No. Yes. I have no clue.”
“Okay, cool.” The worker, a young girl decked out in the most goth punk outfit he had ever seen, smiles and moves to grab it from him. Her long black acrylic nails snag the poor pelt from his hands and she pulls it to the stuffing machine. “We have multiple hearts that you can choose from for your little buddy here. We have classic, plaid and then a beating heart. Go ahead and take a look.”
Jake nods, moving to grab one slowly before turning back to her. “You guys have sounds, right?”
“We do indeed.” She smiles, nodding her head to show him the sound station. “Go ahead and pick or make a sound.”
She turns back to fix one of the spikes on her boots as he does so, rushing over to start recording the sound. The little script he wrote that morning on a sticky note was hard to read but he managed it, making sure to use that southern drawl he knew his baby girl loved before coming back to the stuffing station and handing it to her.
“Alright, do we want our little buddy to be firm or plush?”
“I think…. How about firm?”
“Sounds great, and let’s go ahead and bless the heart while I’m doing this. First I’m going to have you rub your head so our buddy is smart. Perfect, now lets rub our belly so our buddy always has a good appetite. Awesome. Don’t forget to rub your knees so your furry friend always kneeds you. Jump up and down to get the heart beating and rub it against your heart so they always know how much you love them. And lastly close your eyes, make a wish and give it a kiss.”
Jake follows her word for word, going with the ceremony even though he knows it’s for kids. And when he closes his eyes he wishes ‘Keep my babies safe and happy’ before kissing the heart and handing it to her. She ties the bear up and hands him off, the teddy looking straight into Jake’s eyes as he walks off to find it a cute little outfit.
By the time he makes it to the register Jake has the bear in a little naval outfit, hat and all, and the worker is grabbing the birth certificate from the printer with narrowed eyes.
As she rings out the clothes he watches her closely, heart beating against his rib cage each step of the way. She was very goth, from the badass makeup to the spiky hair and spiky collar, not to mention the huge boots. It was like wednesday adams went punk and then got a job as Build A Bear as a joke.
Then she turned to expose the backpack holding the pink stuffed animal decked out in rainbow and he couldn’t help but laugh. “What’s her name?”
“Cannibal, but when the kids ask Cami.”
“Cami the Cannibal, I love it.”
She finishes ringing everything up, raising an eyebrow. “Bugs?”
“Oh, yeah. It’s for my darlin’. You see I call her mom ‘Bubs’ and I call her ‘Bugs’.” Jake explains, whipping out his card as she begins dressing the bear.
“This is for your daughter? How old is she turning?”
“Oh, it’s not for her birthday. I’m being deployed so this is my….. Something she has of me while I am gone.”
Her face goes slack and she blinks at him before shaking her head. “How old is your daughter?”
“Four.”
“Then I’m saying this is a birthday bear. You only have to pay how old you’re turning for the bear.”
He thanks her, and before he knows it he is buckling Bugs into the backseat and driving home to see his two girls.
-
Bugs sits at the top of your closet for the next 5 weeks, you both break the news to your daughter four weeks out. She begs him not to leave and you let her sleep in your bed to try and soothe her tears.
She sleeps in your bed every night after that.
2 weeks out Jake’s mother throws a going away party for him, your daughter cries the entire time.
Then the time came.
Jake woke earlier than you, desperate to let you both get a little more sleep as he shuffled into the shared closet and reached up to find the box that held bugs. Dusting the bear off and making sure he looked good before moving to set it in the living room by his deployment bags.
He kisses both your foreheads before jumping in the shower and getting dressed into his uniform. His throat is tight and his eyes burn but he does his best to keep it together, by the time he is dressed and ready to go he finds both of you sitting in the living room crying softly.
You are doing your best to stop the tears, and Jake feels something shatter in his chest at the sight before the blur of the four year old is dashing to him.
“Please don’t go.” She sobs, hands gathering the fabric of his uniform as he swipes the tears from her cheeks.
“Easy now, Bugs. I’ll be back. It’ll be okay.”
“Please don’t go daddy! Tell them you can’t go!” From the corner of his eyes he sees you shuffling closer with the box, and he nods, reaching a hand out for the bear.
“Daddy needs you to do something for me, okay bugs?” The tears are falling freely now as she shoves her forehead into his chest. He has to pull her back a bit so she sees the bear. “This? This is my friend Bugs, and Bugs is very very important to me. You wanna know why?”
“Why?”
“Because Bugs promised to take care of you for me. And he is gonna do a great job of it. But I need you to keep Bugs with you so he can do that. Yeah?”
She shakes her head at first, sobbing loudly as he kisses at her forehead, before her hands reach out to pull the bear to her.
12 minutes later you are holding her in your arms, crying as Jake gives you both one more kiss and heads out to the truck, waving as he pulls the car out even if he feels his heart shattering in his own chest.
-
You keep y/d home for the day, making her mac and cheese for lunch ans trying to play all her favorite movies in an attempt to cheer her up a bit. Nothing seems to work and she sobs all day, not that you were much better.
By the time you are ready to tuck her in your eyes hurt from the amount of crying you had done and you felt drained and dehydrated. But nonetheless you hold your daughters hand as she shuffles into her room where Bugs now sat on the bed.
You dress her in one of Jakes soft shirts for pajamas, tucking her into the blanket softly and rubbing her cheek.
“Daddy always is here to say goodnight too.” She cries and you nod slowly, reaching for the bear.
“You really think he would forget?” You smile softly, pinching the bear's paw.
Jake’s southern voice rings out, a little frazzled out but there nonetheless.
“The sun is setting in the sky.
Let's light the moon and bring it high.
The shimmering stars sparkle and twinkle.
I work out my wiggles as stardust I sprinkle.
The tree stands tall as the owl hoots.
I send all my worries right down through my roots.
A moonlit lake, as I sit on the shore.
Reflects three things that I am grateful for.
With my hands on my heart, love is swirling around me.
So I send it out to my friends and family.
As I lie down I breathe one, two, three.
And feel the love come back to me.
Goodnight Bugs.”
She curls around the bear, sobbing loudly as you kiss her head. Truly not knowing how to fix this.
-
Three months later, you are holding her hand as she leads you through the mall, Bugs wrapped tightly in her other arm.
She had played the sound so much that it sort of stopped working and instead of the entire poem all the bear truly said now was ‘Goodnight Bugs’. But that would have to do for now.
You had done so many emergency surgeries on the bear since she refused to leave him behind. The poor thing had barely survived the kindergarten recess debacle before her teacher had to cut in and take the bear from her and the kid who had been wrestling to steal it.
She had come home that day a blubbering mess until you sewed the arm back on and she kissed it better.
She had taken Bugs to the daddy donut day her school ran, and though she still her her grandpa there that day you were eternally grateful she had that bear.
But Jake’s birthday was coming up, and you knew it would be rough on her no matter how many facetime calls he managed to sneak in. So you had asked what she wanted to do for his birthday.
Which leads you here, staring at all the bear options in front of you as she tries to figure out which one she wants..
There was a goth girl waiting at the stuffing station, and you couldn’t figure out if she was glaring or trying to recognize you.
“How about this one, bugs?” You ask, showing her the stitch before she shakes her head and snatches a brown bear.
“It’s got to look cool mom.” Another milestone that you were positive Jake was devastated about. While he was away it had gone from daddy and mommy to dad and mom. It wasn’t much of a difference but it still made your chest ache every time she called you it.
Before you know it she has snatched a bear and dashed to the sound station, not bothering to see if you would follow.
By the time you make it to the stuffing station you are doing your best not to cry, handing the girl the sound and the bear as she smiles.
“I see we have a bear, is this going to be his buddy?”
“YES!” Your daughter smiles, bouncing on her feet as you move to grab Bugs.
“How about I hold this so you can create him. Yeah?”
She reluctantly lets go, moving to pick a heart as the girl asks about the pressure.
“I want him so soft that you can squeeze all the love!” Y/d giggles and you can’t help but smile at that. The worker smiles to, her black lipstick making it all more of a victory. “I like your bear, what’s her name?”
“Cami.” The worker smiles and y/d shakes her head. “No?”
“No, how about….destroyer?”
“Oh, I like the way you think. Okay now touch the heart to your toes so your furry friend is ‘toe’tally awesome. Great job. Touch the heart to your knees so he always ‘knee’ds you. Good good. Now rub the heart between your hands so he always stays warm, don’t forget to rub your ears so he always hears you. And Now your eyes so he always sees you. Now rub your heart so he always has love and jump up and down three times to get that heart beating.”
Y/d does everything with a huge smile lathered on her face, and the worker has the same excited smile on her own.
“Now I need you to close you eyes and make a wish before you kiss the heart.”
She does as told, squeezing her eyes shut before saying ‘Make sure my dad is happy.”
And then the workers face falls into one of recognition, her eyes casting to the bear now held in your hand and back to the one she had been stuffing.
By the time you have an outfit picked out she already has the certificate in her hands, nodding.
“Bubs. I like it.”
“Thank you. It’s what my dad and mom call each other.” Your daughter smiles, standing on her tiptoes to look up to the worker.
“Let me guess, your bugs.”
“I AM!” And just like that a wide smile is splitting across her cheeks as she slides the bear across the counter to your side.
“It’s your lucky day. This bear is a part of the lonely hearts foundation. Which means so long as he is adopted into a happy and loving home he comes with no charge. Are you happy, bugs?”
“Yes.”
“Are you healthy, bugs?”
“I eat my broccoli, yeah.” You try not to snort, remembering that you had to bribe her with 6 oreos after a 2 hour dinner table stand off.
“Then Bubs has found the perfect home.” You mouth a thank you to the girl as you leave, giving your daughter bugs back so you can carry the box.
-
Jake Seresin was absolutely miserable the day he got his birthday package.
He was sweaty from the jets, irritated by his team. But most importantly he was completely lost without his girls.
It had been four months since he last got to hold them and he was beginning to lose it. Sure, he got to facetime them which was a lot more then some of the other guys but he missed them terribly and he wanted nothing more than to be with them.
He had gotten an extra thirty minutes of call time on his birthday a week ago, to which you had promised him you sent something out before y/d interrupted with a sassy tone don’t ruin the surprise for dad, mom.”
He tried not to get upset at the dad part, but he couldn’t help it. He left while his bug called him daddy and stil had the chubbiest baby cheeks in town and now his little darlin’ was growing up and he couldn’t actually see it.
But you had told him to expect the package and he did, finally a week later it was mail day and he sat on his bunk surrounded by his squad as they tore through letters. He sliced the tape of the box open, lifting the lid to reveal the cutest bear dressed in a texan jersey with glasses that reminded him of BOB.
A laugh slips from his lips as he reaches to pull the bear to his chest, noting the cotton candy scent before his eyes snag on the letter.
“Dear Bubs,
This bear was sent out with a promise to keep. He promised both me and your daughter that he would keep you happy and healthy and bring you home to us. We made him knowing that only the bravest of bears could do this task and we made sure he was stocked up for the flight over. In the box he took your favorite candies. A stack of photos and a really cool beaded bracelet your daughter made at school. He was given a cotton candy scent to help block off the stuffy scent from the box but most importantly, he carries a top secret message that not even I was allowed to listen to.
We hope Bubs takes care of you until you are allowed back into our arms, until then stay safe and don’t forget we love you.
Love, Your bubs.”:
There is a little monster drawn on the paper in crayon that makes his heart swell as he traces his fingers over the words and drawing before reaching to the bear.
He lays with it as a pillow, pressing his cheek to the chest as he presses the hand to reveal the sound.
His daughter's voice fills his ears, in the cheesiest southern accent he had ever heard. “I breathe one two three and feel the love come back to me. Good night daddy.”
-
The next set of photos you receive in the mail are all photos of Jake and Bubs on journeys, and Y/D’s favorite was the one of the entire squad posing with bubs. Bob and the bear having switched glasses.
You, of course, begin sending adventures back. One of Bugs and your daughter baking, another of the two on a swing set.
Jake sends back a photo of Bubs ‘flying’ a plane.
Over and over you both send the photos back and forth, everything is a little bit better when you carry a piece of each other with them.
Your daughter asks you at dinner one night, between shoving her chicken in her face and avoiding the broccoli, if you had wanted a bug and bubs bear.
All you can do is smile, booping her nose as you mumble. “You were my bear last time he was deployed.”
“What did you send him?”
“A pee stick.” She doesn’t find it as funny as you did, but she makes sure to have bugs kiss your cheek goodnight before dashing to bed.

2024 Fic Round Up
tagged by .... many people. Thank you!
73K of Lonestar 197K of 911 with @cecilyv
Prolific year.
January
To be at home in fragments (911: Lonestar, TK/Carlos) tumblr ficlets
April
The Knave of Clubs .... swears he'll take her part (911: Lonestar, TK, Carlos, Art Thief!AU, aka Knave IV)
There’s a way that panic can make you feel nauseous, and he has to swallow hard before he can get the words out. “Tell me what you need me to do.”
Trudie gives him an approving smile, like a teacher with a student who’s given the right answer. “You’re going to help me steal a statue.”
(I'm in love) but i do not speak the language (911, Buck/Tommy, aka @cecilyv and I start down a rabbit hole from which we have not yet emerged)
What he does tell Maddie (and Chim) is that he’s never going to push Evan; that whatever this turns out to be, it’s between the two of them.
She laughs in his face and Chim chuckles, and Tommy wonders what he really got himself into.
May
Awful quiet here since love fell asleep (911, Buck/Tommy)
A Buck/Tommy break up/make up fic that back in May @cecilyv thought no one was asking for. And then the show said, hold my beer. Our take was better.
Things don’t always work out, the first time around.
Baggage that goes with mine (911, Buck/Tommy, What Binds the Fabric Together I)
Our take on a Tommy Begins episode.
June
I'll cover you (911, Buck/Tommy, What Binds the Fabric Together II)
Gerrard comes back. The 118 tries to adjust and Buck and Tommy accidently acquire a dog.
Leave the past behind (911, Buck/Tommy, What Binds the Fabric Together III)
A funeral and too many text messages. Tommy’s dad dies and everyone...adjusts.
July
Your love is better than ice cream (911, Buck/Tommy)
An alternative meet-cute, where-in Tommy doesn’t know the 118 and decides Buck is worth it anyway. Buck is confused but figures some things out.
I hear there are great restaurants out west (911, Buck/Tommy, What Binds the Fabric Together IV)
Tommy and Buck and an open road. AKA Roadtrip fic.
August
Atlas (bound) (911, Buck/Tommy)
A behind the scenes look at how you speedrun a relationship, and what happens when the pieces of yourself that you try to hide, embarrassed and afraid, come to the surface.
Tags: The Buckley siblings have bad parents
What's with today, today? (911, Buck/Tommy)
The 118 is a library and Buck is the children’s librarian; Tommy’s the man behind on Stuffie Day at the local fire station. No stuffed animals were harmed in the writing of this fic.
September
Inside, You've Got Heaven and Earth (911, Buck/Tommy)
Tommy and Buck’s world changes in an instant. How do they recover and find their way back home?
We all want to break Tommy (at least a little), right? There is a car accident discussed herein. We’d started this months ago, but came back to it after @alchemistc asked, “What kind of patient is Tommy Kinard?” and we realized we still had a lot to say. Recovery is a personal experience and this is not intended to be medically accurate by any stretch of the imagination. So much hand-waving.
Tumblr mini-fics (911, Buck/Tommy)
what it says on the package
October
Star Baker (911, Buck/Tommy)
Tommy’s down bad for every version of Buck.
Absolutely no baked goods are made in the course of this fic.
Just a bit outside (911, Buck/Tommy)
Who wants to see Tommy in baseball pants?
@cecilyv wrote anything about actual baseball, I contributed bad baseball sex puns. This is the usual division of labor.
Napoleon's Battle Plan (911, Buck/Tommy)
First you show up, then you see what happens. Tommy reevaluates his priorities, one interaction at a time. AKA 5+1 Tommy and the 118 kids(fic).
November
In a Yellow Wood (911, Buck/Tommy)
It’s been three years since the break-up when Tommy saves a family and it upends his life. AKA actual kid!fic
Every song has a you (911, Buck/Tommy)
Buck and Tommy talk but do they listen? A fix-it fic that goes AU after 8.06.
Everyone gets to be angry for a while, and then talk it out.
December
A comet's misfortune (911, Buck/Tommy)
One day, Buck and Maddie’s past shows up at her door. Buck should have realized that if they’d been able to hide a kid, they could jettison an entire family, too.
Note: This took us so long to write, and had about three different versions that existed before we got to this one.
The chain I forged (911, Buck/Tommy)
Tommy gets visited by the Ghost of Christmas (or possibly hallucinates as a result of whatever was in those shots Lucy handed him last night). Either way, he’s too old for this shit.
tagging anyone who wants to play.

"Loser Baby" frame analysis (3/3)
(With lyrics)
Red = Husk Pink = Angel Dust Purple = Both Normal = My commentary
[ANGEL DUST] You're a loser, baby
Angel is deflecting a bit here, testing the waters. He's oddly shy, maybe exposed. Husk's wing is somewhat extended behind him, the umbrella over Angel. Almost as if shielding Angel from more than the fictional rain. I know damn well we all know what sharing an umbrella means in most anime! And Angel's hand behind his head and lowered brows shows a bit of vulnerability with Husk. A shyness to show himself to the other.
[HUSK] A loser, but just maybe if we
(Scene is a little later than the line) Husk answers with no malice or offence. In fact, his voice is much softer here, comforting Angel.
[ANGEL DUST & HUSK] Eat shit together, things will end up differently
Now Angel holds out a hand to Husk like he did at the beginning of the song when they first sat side by side. And Husk Happily takes it.
[HUSK] It's time to lose your self-loathin'
Angel joins in vocals, happily embracing being a loser and dancing with no cares in the world. He's shed all his sadness and shame from before. And all the while, Husk sings to Angel, taking more pleasure in Angel being at ease. Enjoying that Angel is shedding all the negativity he had when he first fled the hotel. Angel isn't just the subject, but the star of the song.
Excuse yourself, let hope in, baby
He gives Angel all the room to bask in this revelation, and "let hope in". This could very well mean Husk off all people believes Angel will either improve, or Lucifer willing, make it out of Hell. He holds his hand out to Angel, and Angel takes it. As if making a deal to have a better mindset and accept the reality: 'The situation sucks, but now that we've addressed it, we can find a way for us (Angel) to find a way out.'
Play your card, be who you are
Another little moment, when Husk says "Baby", he pulls Angel close for a moment before continuing the dance. Angel seems to notice this. His face is very relaxed and he continues vocalizing. He doesn't want to leave this moment. He wants to keep it going.
Husk is encouraging Angel to embrace all of himself, while also pulling him closer to Husk, but only after he takes his hand again. Husk needs Angel to make the decision to take his hand. He wont force him. Be it friendship or a budding romance, Husk is there for Angel and all his quirks and kinks.
[ANGEL DUST & HUSK] A loser,
Angel is now fully supported by Husk, but our bartender doesn't mind a bit, a wing folded under Angel, a show of Husk willing to support him (bird wings be fragile, I'd imagine Husk could have discomfort with weight on them.) And Angel sees Husk. Husk is relaxed, eyes closed, supporting Angel's weight and Angel is relaxed and at ease, seeing Husk as a new friend.
just like--
Angel allows his eyes to shut, brows lowered, no wrinkles under his eyes or brow, voice soft in harmony with Husk. Both are relaxed, smiling. They are not alone.
And they open thier eyes. Voices soft and almost as if sharing a secret. Thier smiles are still in place, both at ease.
No masks.
*
Welp! I am going to be listening to this song on loop. 10 fucking years since the comic snippets came out, holy shit!
I'm so happy for Viv and the team and the fandom!
Thanks y'all!

O9. his way of thanks [fanboy!scaramouche x drummer!reader] ⎯⎯ heartbeat rhythm series
the president of the decorating committee, keqing, makes her way to the front of the classroom. "okay, everyone. let's start planning on what we're going to do for this year's school festival. by the end of today's class, we should have our application submitted to the student council. any ideas?"
yoimiya excitedly proposes, "what about a maid café?" keqing smiles, "i don't know if the guys would be up to wearing those outfits." yoimiya pouts in response, "they could be butlers!" hu tao sputters, "that's boring. you know what we should do? a haunted house."
xingqiu glances at the brunette, "that does seem like your forte, hu tao." ayaka coyly suggests with a tilt of her head, "maybe a drama performance?" keqing uses a piece of chalk to list down the possible options on the board. yoimiya yelps, "why didn't you add the maid café idea!?"
scaramouche is sitting a seat away from you, watching you scribble little drawings on the corner of your desk. his pretty blue eyes deeply analyze your actions. everything you do is just so fascinating to him. "president, could you help us out?" keqing queries.
heizou nudges scaramouche, although it isn't enough to snap the male out of his trance. he hisses, "hey, scaramouche!" scaramouche mumbles, "drawing..."
keqing repeats in a confused state, "drawing?" heizou nervously laughs, "ha-ha, i think what he's trying to say is... ah, maybe we should do an art exhibition!" keqing hums, "interesting intake. any opposing of that idea?"
scaramouche finally gets back to the present and looks at heizou, who gives him a deadpan expression. "i just saved your ass! what caught your attention?" heizou whisper-shouts, scolding his friend. scaramouche glances back at you, where you still seem to be occupied with drawing little animals.
heizou teases him in a lilting tone, "of course."
after heizou leans towards his left side to tell xiao about it, the bell signals the end of class. scaramouche immediately stands up from his desk and goes to where venti's sitting. "hey, give me my headphones. you borrowed them long enough," scaramouche seethes. venti exclaims in return, "no way, the sound quality is so nice!"
the shorter male snatches the headset from him and venti frowns. "fine, i already know it's because you can't last a single day without listening to their drum solos." venti's playful whisper throws scaramouche off.
his complexion goes beet red as he places the headphones around his neck. kazuha lightly laughs, "your face says it all, scaramouche." scaramouche is bound to throw another snarky insult while leaving for the next class, however a tug at his sleeve stops him short.
he turns his head and raises his brow in confusion. "oh, (name). do you need anything?" scaramouche queries, trying to avoid your gaze as discreetly as possible. in the background, venti mocks him, "do you need anything?" scaramouche could clearly hear xiao, heizou and aether quietly chuckling.
"well, no, but yun jin told me to give this to you since she wants you to hear how much potential our band has." you hold out a cd in its case, covered in mostly black but with the unmistakenable, classic and iconic dark blue 5O5 graphics.
"she figured that if you did research on some of our past releases, you wouldn't have found our unreleased songs unless you went to our live performance. these are our most recents and we hope that it meets your standards," you politely say, arm sore from sticking out with the cd in your hand.
you didn't percieve the way he clenched his jaw in excitement, the way sparkles appeared in his eyes and the way he pursed his lips to restrain himself from smiling. Lost and Found: A Pirates Promise
Chapter 45: The Last Stand
This gif because Ichiji finally arrives to whole cake island
And this gif because Sanji in the next chapter is going to fight with luffy.
And this song because when we get to that final POV, which is Sanji's yall will feel it, when Y/N says it. Also this song is way to good LMFAO
A/N: and we are back at it again with another chapter! Yall, I have been going back and forth with some of the writing that I now have original drafts of some of the chapters. I felt inspired by some and others. I was like maybe this would work, to which I enjoyed so much that it has now been added. When I tell you, the changes, the angst, the betrayal, and everything is going to be wild! We got some Ichiji POV, Sanji POV, and Y/N POV. The ending tho.. so much hurt. Thank you guys so much for following, liking, reblogging, just following along with the fan fiction. I believe it's this chapter or the next one that has a few song lyrics that are spanish, but I translated it to english, I will add the song onto here so that way once you read it you’ll understand it. The song is called La Media Vuelta by Luis Miguel… and dont worry… there'll be more songs coming as well. We added that flair and AU to these bad boys, while also sticking to the anime pacing. And without further ado. Let the adventure begin!

Y/N POV…
I watched as Nami kissed the vivre card, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Ohh, I like where this is going," I said, seeing the panic ripple through the homies as they sensed what was coming. Their eyes widened, full of fear. The power of Lola's vivre card was undeniable, and I couldn't help but grin.
"Didn't you hear what the tree said before that? The whole plan spilled right out!" I added, laughing at how things were turning in our favor. Pound, still trying to wrap his head around it, asked how exactly having the vivre card was going to help.
Nami, in all her brilliance, decided to use King Baum's voice to explain, mimicking his deep, trembly accent. I couldn't hold it in—I burst out laughing, wiping a tear from my eye. "Nami, stop!" I gasped, clutching my stomach. It was too much.
But the moment didn’t last long. Nami’s senses were sharp, and she turned her attention to Randolph and the stork, who were trying to sneak away. "Not so fast, you two!" she called out.
Randolph, the rabbit, immediately pointed to the stork. "Apologies, it was his idea!" he said, quick to throw his partner under the bus.
"He's lying!" the stork squawked, flustered.
Nami didn't let them off the hook so easily. "Here’s the deal—you forest creatures are going to be my loyal subjects from now on. Any questions?" she declared with an air of confidence. King Baum and Randolph started to protest, their voices shaky and unsure.
"Ohh, you wanna do this the hard way? Go ahead and try me," Nami challenged, her eyes gleaming with power. The homies quivered in fear. It was clear who was in control now.
"Listen up—here’s your first order. You guys go help Luffy!" Nami commanded, her voice ringing with authority. The homies, reluctant at first, began to murmur their protests.
"Well, are you going to argue, or are you going to help Luffy?!" Nami snapped, the vivre card glowing faintly in her hand. Its power over them was absolute, and they had no choice but to follow her orders.
"This vivre card is coming in pretty handy, if I do say so myself," Nami added with a smirk.
I grinned, nodding in agreement. "No kidding, you’ve got them wrapped around your finger," I said, watching the homies scramble to obey. The tables had turned in our favor, and now it was time to make our move.
The homies began to murmur among themselves, confusion evident on their faces. "Has anybody seen where that red-haired girl went? And the one with the bandana on her head?" they asked, their voices tinged with concern.
"Ohh, we're right here!" Nami chirped, a mischievous grin spreading across her face as we revealed ourselves inside King Baum's mouth. The tension in the air shifted, and I couldn't help but laugh at their bewilderment.
Nami raised Lola’s vivre card triumphantly. "I thought I told you to help out Luffy fighting Cracker," she said, her tone dripping with authority.
Pound was now lounging comfortably in one of King Baum's trunks, looking a bit too relaxed for my liking. "Have you seen him? He's pretty strong," the flower homie said, glancing nervously around.
"Like I care," Nami replied, her voice sharp. She looked at me, and we both shared a knowing grin. "Listen here and listen good—no matter how many of you wither, it won't bother us one bit."
The homies all gasped in shock, their eyes wide as they processed our words. The sheer audacity of our claim seemed to unsettle them.
"So you guys are afraid of General Cracker? What about Big Mom?" I taunted, feeling a surge of confidence.
Nami continued to hold the vivre card high, her determination unwavering. "Which one is scarier?" she asked, her voice playful yet commanding.
"You are!" the homies squeaked in unison, their faces pale with fear.
I couldn’t help but chuckle at their reaction. "See? Even they know not to mess with us," I said, feeling the exhilaration of our newfound power.
Nami winked at me, and we shared a moment of camaraderie. "Now, let's get back out there and show them what we can do!" she declared, her spirit infectious.
Ichiji POV…
We finally arrived at the Germa Kingdom after two days of travel. The moment the castle came into view, a sense of anticipation washed over me, but my thoughts were preoccupied with a little someone who wore a white dress—my fiancée, Y/N. She should be arriving at Whole Cake soon, I thought, excitement bubbling in my chest as the plan fell into motion.
My gaze flicked to the engagement ring nestled securely in its box, the diamonds glinting in the light. I stared at it, imagining how it would look on Y/N’s finger. I could almost see her beaming smile as I slipped it onto her hand, her eyes sparkling with surprise and joy. From the moment I first saw her fight, her fierce spirit ignited something deep inside me—an insatiable hunger that only she could satisfy. Even though our marriage was arranged, I was determined to claim her entirely, to make her mine in every way.
“Hey, Ichiji, still daydreaming about your little princess?” Niji teased, stepping off the ship beside me.
“Just mind your own business,” I shot back, though a small smile tugged at my lips. The cheers of Germa soldiers welcomed us as we entered the kingdom, their voices echoing in the air.
“Welcome back, Master Ichiji!” one soldier called, his enthusiasm infectious.
“Congratulations on your engagement!” another soldier shouted, and a swell of pride washed over me. The admiration of my comrades filled me with a sense of purpose. "You two are made for each other!" yelled another soldier, and I felt my chest swell at the thought. Whether Y/N wanted this marriage or not was no longer my concern, especially since we had something of hers hostage.
“Master Ichiji, Master Niji, it’s been a while!” another soldier chimed in, his voice brimming with excitement.
“I can’t believe they ended that long battle at Broc coli Island!” yelled a third, causing a wave of chatter to ripple through the crowd.
“Why isn’t he coming out to greet us? Where is he?” Niji asked, scanning the area for the failure of a brother, Sanji.
“Knock it off, Niji,” I replied, irritation creeping into my voice. The last thing I needed was to hear about Sanji right now.
As we made our way to the castle, I could feel the energy shifting, anticipation hanging thick in the air. “Hey, Dad! We’re back!” I called out, stepping into the dining room.
“Great work, Ichiji and you too, Niji!” our father boomed, his authoritative voice resonating in the grand hall as he sat on his throne, radiating an air of power and dominance. “Have the arrangements been made like I asked?” I inquired, my gaze fixed on one of the handmaids, an edge of command in my tone.
“Yes, young master. Allow me to bring in the paperwork for you,” she purred, the flattery grating on my nerves.
“Where is he?” Niji interrupted, scanning the room for our brother Sanji.
“Right here,” Reiju said, stepping in with Sanji trailing behind her.
“Sanji! Wow, you really didn’t die! Check you out,” Niji mocked, his laughter echoing through the hall. I remained composed, my expression unwavering as I focused on Sanji.
His eyes met mine, a storm of rage and disbelief swirling within them. “Don’t you want to congratulate Ichiji on his marriage to Princess Y/N? I know she’s your crewmate and all, but…” I laughed, enjoying the discomfort that hung in the air like a thick fog.
“Ichiji, have you gotten the chance to see her yet?” our father asked, genuine curiosity lighting up his features.
“Yes, I did,” I replied, letting the words flow smoothly, enjoying the moment. “I actually spotted her back in Chocolat town, wearing a short white dress.” The vivid image of Y/N in that dress ignited a fire within me, and I savored Sanji’s reaction. His tension was palpable, his fists clenching at his sides.
“She looked exquisite, like an angel among mere mortals,” I added, a smug grin spreading across my face. The frustration etched on Sanji's face was more than satisfying; it was intoxicating. I could almost taste the victory on my tongue.
“Have you told her yet?” Reiju interjected, the playful tone in her voice adding to the amusement.
“Not yet, but soon,” I said, savoring the anticipation that bubbled beneath the surface. “I want it to be unforgettable, something that’ll make her realize how fortunate she is.”
Sanji’s gaze hardened, his frustration boiling over. “Why are you so obsessed with this? It’s not what she wants!”
“Obsession? No, Sanji. It’s about claiming what’s rightfully mine,” I replied, a carefree air masking the hunger brewing inside me. “This is an arrangement, and she’ll learn to embrace it. I’ll make sure of that.”
Niji couldn't resist the chance to poke fun at Sanji. “Hahaha, looks like you got yourself a fancy gift. Shackles always did suit you; takes you back, doesn’t it?” he taunted, his laughter echoing through the dining room.
Sanji slapped Niji’s hand away, rising to his feet, his head held high, eyes blazing with indignation.
“Ichiji and Niji, you both must be exhausted from the trip. Why not grab something to eat?” our father interjected, a tone of authority in his voice that quelled the brewing tension.
After changing out of our raid suits and into our usual attire, I opted for a black long-sleeve shirt and a red cravat paired with white dress pants, feeling the weight of my responsibilities settle onto my shoulders. The lavish spread before us looked tempting, and we dove into the meal, savoring each bite.
“I’m sorry, young master, but here are the papers for you to review,” the handmaid from before said, approaching with a stack of documents.
“Good, you’re dismissed,” I replied, waving her away without a second thought. The others continued their banter, but I could sense Sanji’s eyes boring into me, filled with suppressed fury.
“What’s that?” Yonji asked, leaning closer, curiosity etched on his face.
I smirked, keeping my focus on the papers. “These are the arrangements I have planned for when my fiancée arrives,” I replied confidently. “Clothing stocked, shoes stocked, wine stocked, flowers stocked… and her dresses for the events, one of which is the lunch with Big mom.” I paused for effect, allowing the anticipation to build in the room.
“The pale yellow halter dress, openback with a high slit for her left thigh,” I continued, relishing the moment. “Perfect for the lunch” My eyes flicked up to Sanji, who was gritting his teeth, his expression a mix of disbelief and frustration as he chewed through the meal.
“What do you think? Isn’t it exquisite?” I asked, the teasing lilt in my voice as I enjoyed his reaction.
“Exquisite? More like tasteless,” Sanji snapped, glaring at me.
“Jealousy doesn’t suit you, brother,” I shot back, leaning back in my chair, basking in the warmth of my triumph. “I’m just looking out for her. After all, it’s not every day you get to dress up a princess, right?”
“Maybe she’d prefer someone who actually cares about her feelings,” he muttered, trying to maintain his composure.
Reiju, who had been listening quietly, leaned forward, her interest piqued. “Ichiji, can I see the ring?”
Reiju leaned forward, her curiosity piqued as I pulled out the engagement ring from my pocket. The brilliance of the diamonds sparkled under the light, but it was the deep red ruby nestled in the center that truly caught her eye.
“Wow, it’s beautiful,” she remarked, inspecting the ring closely. The ruby glinted like a captured flame, drawing attention to its significance. “She’ll love it. But will she love you?”
I shrugged, confidence radiating from me. “She will come to love me. I’ll make sure of it. This is just the beginning.”
The glint in Sanji’s eyes darkened as he shot back, “You can’t force love, Ichiji. She deserves someone who truly cares for her.”
“Of course, and that someone is me,” I countered, relishing the challenge. “Soon, everyone will see how perfect we are together.”
My father straightened in his seat, the air thick with authority as he began to discuss the fall of the Bro Coli regime due to Doflamingo not supplying them weapons, since he was defeated, a significant victory for our family. “And as I last recall, Ichiji, didn’t your fiancée face Doflamingo, even defeating one of his top executives?” he said, pride glimmering in his eyes.
“Yes, she’s impressive,” I replied, a sense of satisfaction swelling within me. I couldn’t help but feel drawn to her fierce spirit even more with every mention of her strength.
Yonji took another bite of his bread, his smirk deepening as he continued, "If she's anything like she was when we first saw her during that broadcast, then I definitely should've called dibs first." His words carried an edge, but the real sting came next. "And if she's anything like what I just saw—wearing that short blue skirt and cropped tank back on that ship, showing off that body—man, I really should’ve made a move sooner."
I turned to Yonji, my patience running thin. "Watch your mouth," I said with a sharpness that wiped the smirk from his face. "She's still my fiancée, and I won’t tolerate any disrespect toward her."
He raised his hands in mock surrender, though his eyes still twinkled with amusement. "Alright, alright. Just saying—"
"You’ve said enough," I interrupted, my voice low and deadly.
Sanji, who had been quiet until now, shot up, his eyes widening. “Wait, what broadcast?” His voice was tight, filled with both confusion and anger.
Yonji laughed, clearly enjoying the tension in the air. "Oh, you didn’t know? Back at Punk Hazard, Ichiji here couldn’t keep his eyes off her when she fought that bird woman. It was a hell of a fight." He chuckled again. “He was practically drooling over the screen.”
Sanji’s face twisted in fury. “So you’ve been watching her this whole time?” he growled, stepping closer, fists clenched. "You bastards were the damn brokers keeping tabs on her!"
I didn’t flinch as Sanji’s anger erupted. Instead, I leaned back, my smirk widening. “Of course, Sanji. You didn’t think we’d ignore someone as... valuable as her, did you? After all, she’s soon to be part of the Vinsmoke family.”
Sanji’s face flushed with rage, his hands shaking as he fought to contain himself. “You don’t have the right to call her that,” he spat, barely keeping his voice steady, his fury palpable. "She’s not yours."
“Right or wrong, it doesn’t matter,” I shot back, enjoying the tension in the room. “She’s mine now. And once she’s here, you’ll have to get used to it.”
The anticipation of her arrival and the subsequent confrontation hung in the air like a storm cloud, and I couldn’t wait to see how she would handle it.
“Bear this in mind: the power we will be gaining is tremendous! The power of Germa will strengthen!” my father declared, his voice booming with authority and excitement. It was rare to see him this animated, and I could feel a swell of pride in my chest.
Niji leaned back in his chair, a smirk plastered on his face. “You should be honored, Sanji, since you’re marrying one of Big Mom’s daughters. Who would have predicted you’d come in handy?” The jab was sharp, intended to provoke, and I could see Sanji’s jaw clench, a mix of defiance and anger simmering just beneath the surface.
“There's still food on your plate, don’t waste it, Niji,” Sanji said, trying to keep his cool despite the tension.
“This? Yeah, I’m done—not hungry,” Niji retorted, pushing his plate away in mock disgust.
“Finish it! You don’t know the value of food, you stuck-up prince!” Sanji snapped back, his eyes blazing with indignation.
“Shut the hell up!” Niji fired back, clearly irritated. He waved his hand, calling over the head chef, Cossette. “This vile slop you served us caused my brother to upset me!” His voice dripped with disdain as he held up the dish, ready to hurl it.
Before Niji could throw it, Sanji sprang up, his anger reaching its peak. “You low-life bastard! Are you trying to leave a scar on a lady's face?” he yelled, stepping between Niji and Cossette.
Sanji POV..
I couldn’t stand these arrogant bastards. The way they carried themselves, like they owned the world, made my blood boil. But what stoked the flames of my fury even more was the fact that Ichiji was using Y/N, my darling princess, my fiancée (a lie, but it gave me a sense of grounding), as a pawn in his twisted game. And to make matters worse, Niji almost hit Cossette! A woman! Was he trying to scar her face?
“Huh, a lady?” Niji scoffed, his tone dripping with disdain. “How stupid are you defending a kitchen wench?” He grinned as if relishing the chaos.
I crouched down, looking at the food that was now strewn across the floor. “Now there’s food all over the floor,” I said, eyeing the mess.
“It’s called aligot,” I said, “and it’s made with cheese blended with mashed potatoes. Potatoes are very nutritious. I assume this fine concoction, due to your noble status, was chosen for you—a fine course for breakfast.” I shoved a spoonful into my mouth, relishing the rich flavors.
“Don’t, Master Sanji! Royal blood mustn’t eat off the floor!” Cossette chimed in beside me, her voice a mixture of concern and urgency.
“The flavor is impeccable,” I muttered, still chewing.
“Poverty has done a number on you, Sanji! Don’t taint our bloodline!” Niji spat, advancing toward me, fists clenched. Just as he was about to land a hit, I locked eyes with him.
“Think of the wedding! Stop!” Father’s voice cut through the tension, and Niji halted his strike, though his rage simmered beneath the surface.
“I’m embarrassed to even be related to you! Disrespecting food is one thing, but raising your hand to a woman is sick!” I said, my gaze now directed toward Ichiji. “And forcing a woman into a marriage she didn’t want is vile!”
“Just because you’re stuck-up princes doesn’t mean you can treat women like dirt!” I shouted, feeling the heat rising in my chest. “Everything you guys do goes against my principles.”
“Oh, Sanji, your head is tainted by the ideologies of the weak! Ever since we were children, your thinking has been incomprehensible! Royalty abides by its own set of rules; you’re out of touch,” Ichiji retorted, his voice dripping with condescension.
“The last thing I want to hear is something out of your mouth!” I yelled back, my anger boiling over.
“Could it be that your ideologies were tainted by this man?” Father interjected, holding up a picture of Zeff, his eyes glinting with malicious intent.
“Big Mom’s information network is impressive,” he continued. “I believe this is a recent photo. Is something wrong? You’re turning white as a ghost,” he taunted.
My eyes widened in horror as the realization sank in.
“In other words, this is just a precaution. I won’t hesitate to relieve this man of his head if you don’t abide by the terms,” he said, his voice low and threatening.
“I wouldn’t do anything drastic if I were you. Forget your friends, accept your marriage to Pudding quietly, and let the princess marry Ichiji. Do that, and everything will work out just fine.”
Panic surged through me as my mind flashed back to the moment Zeff saved me when I was only eight years old, pulling me from the depths of despair, the Baratie, my first real home. His life was on the line now, just like King’s and all of Y/N’s loved ones were at risk. And here I was, completely powerless.
We were both stuck, and there was nothing I could do to stop this.
“Let’s have a peaceful wedding ceremony,” Father said, his voice as cold and commanding as ever. “We will be having lunch with Big Mom and Pudding today, so go get ready shortly.” His eyes glinted with expectation as he leaned back, fully confident in his control over the situation. “Any objections, Sanji?” he added, a subtle smirk tugging at the corner of his lips, daring me to speak up.
I stood there, fists clenched at my sides, staring down at the floor as a storm of emotions churned inside me. Anger, frustration, helplessness—they all threatened to boil over, but what could I say? What could I do that wouldn’t put Zeff, Y/N, and everyone I cared about in danger?
My head bowed in defeat, the weight of everything crashing down on me. Zeff’s life hung in the balance, Y/N was being manipulated, and I was being pushed into a corner with no way out. All for the sake of some twisted family plan to strengthen Germa and align with Big Mom.
Now, I’m faced with another dilemma, and believe me when I say—I truly hate it here. This isn’t my family. These people, with their arrogance and cruelty, they’ve never been my family. I left them behind a long time ago. But here I am, shackled to them once again, powerless to protect the people I love.
All I want is to escape this nightmare. But for now, I have no choice but to play along. For Zeff. For Y/N. I grit my teeth and prepare for the charade to continue.
Y/N POV..
We finally made it to where Luffy was, just in time to see Kingbaum slam into General Cracker. "That went better than expected! Kingbaum, Luffy! Are you okay?" Nami asked with concern, glancing back at Luffy as we all tried to catch our breath.
"Luffy, you alright?" I echoed, worry filling my voice.
“Nami, Y/N… I need time to recover from Bounce Man,” Luffy replied, his voice weak and strained.
“What?” Nami asked, wide-eyed.
“Luffy needs at least ten minutes to regain his strength. Bounce Man always takes a lot out of him," I explained, remembering the toll it had taken on him during his battle against Doflamingo back in Dressrosa.
“Alright, I’ll look after you until you rest up,” Nami said as she turned to the homies. “You! Bring Luffy to us and protect him until ten minutes have passed.”
“You gotta do what she commands, homies!” Kingbaum ordered.
The homies quickly dragged Luffy up to us. “Thanks, guys,” Luffy muttered weakly.
“Don’t thank us yet; save your energy,” Nami urged, her voice tight as we heard General Cracker approaching once again.
“That’s our cue, let’s go!” Nami shouted as Kingbaum picked up the pace, trying to get away from Cracker.
“I feel so ashamed!” Kingbaum wept as he lumbered forward.
“Let’s try not to get caught! Pick up the pace!” Nami urged, her voice tense.
“Son of a birch!” Kingbaum cursed. "He's gonna catch up! Can’t you go any faster?” Nami yelled, panic rising in her voice.
“How many minutes have passed?” I asked, my eyes scanning the dense forest ahead.
“Not even the full ten!” Nami replied, clearly agitated.
“Let’s speed it up, you guys!” Nami commanded.
Suddenly, Kingbaum stopped dead in his tracks. “Why’d we stop?” I asked, immediately on alert.
“Who’s this guy?!” Nami cried out, her voice filled with fear as the homies trembled around us.
The homies murmured in terror, “That’s… General Cracker!”
“You mean to tell me General Cracker isn’t an actual biscuit cracker?” I said, half in disbelief.
“That’s not the point!” Nami snapped as we found ourselves surrounded by Cracker’s biscuit soldiers once more.
Cracker grinned menacingly. “Hmm, so humor me, Kingbaum. Want to explain why you’re helping the Straw Hats?” he asked, his voice dripping with mockery.
“Well… you see, I…,” Kingbaum stammered in fear before Cracker sliced off the top of his trunk in one swift motion.
“Ahhh!” Kingbaum howled in pain.
“I’ll just kill you all instead,” Cracker declared coldly as several homies fell, lifeless, around us.
“This guy is scary…” Nami muttered under her breath.
“You surprised? I’m one of the Sweet Three Generals,” Cracker said, pride in his voice.
“Nami, leave this one to me,” I said firmly, my resolve hardening. "I’ll buy us some time."
I reached up and tightened Zoro’s bandana around my head, feeling a sense of comfort in its presence, as if Zoro’s fighting spirit were with me. The fabric hugged my forehead like a protective charm, giving me the focus I needed for the battle ahead. I drew my sword, my fingers gripping the hilt as I pressed the blue gemstone embedded in its handle. A powerful surge of energy pulsed through my veins, different this time—cool and fierce. Ice began to spread over the blade, glistening with blue electricity crackling along its edges.
“Nami, make sure the homies protect Luffy, okay?” I said, my voice steady as I stepped forward to face Cracker.
Cracker grinned, clearly entertained. “And who might you be?” he sneered.
I clenched my left hand, feeling the power surging within me. Without hesitation, I leaped into the air, my blade radiating with frost and lightning.
“Ice Shards!” I cried out, channeling the ice energy in my blade, releasing a barrage of sharp, freezing projectiles that sliced through the air with deadly precision.
The shards spun through the air like frozen stars, aimed directly at Cracker, shattering his biscuit soldiers on contact.
I smirked, stepping forward with confidence. “I’m sure by now you know who I am,” I said, tilting my head, amusement in my tone.
Cracker smirked back, clearly unfazed. “You’re Princess Y/N from the Straw Hat Pirates,” he said coldly.
“In the flesh,” I responded with a mock bow, adding a bit of flair for good measure.
“You think you can humor me with your games?!” Cracker snarled, clearly annoyed.
“Humor? Maybe,” I teased, “but I’m also here to kick your ass.” I straightened up, my eyes narrowing as Cracker clapped his hands, summoning another pair of biscuit soldiers.
“Why not just face me yourself? Forget the biscuits,” I challenged as one of the soldiers lunged at me. I reacted quickly, doing a one-handed backflip, using the momentum to lift my right leg and crack the biscuit soldier's hardened exterior with a single blow.
“Now,” I said, smirking even wider, “are you ready to fight for real? Or are you compensating for something?”
“You’ve definitely been around Zoro way too long, Y/N!” Nami yelled from behind, exasperated.
I chuckled, glancing back at her briefly. “Maybe I have… or maybe it’s his lucky bandana I’m wearing.” I tugged at the bandana tied around my forehead with a wink before turning my full attention back to Cracker.
The electricity and ice continued to course through my blade, the tension rising as Cracker’s grin faded into a more serious expression. This fight was only just beginning.
Cracker’s smirk turned sinister as he eyed me. “Are you sure Straw Hat can’t back you up? Pretty foolish of you to attack me on your own,” he taunted.
I met his gaze without flinching. “I have a duty to protect my captain. If he’s down and I gotta step up, then so be it,” I said with determination. A smirk tugged at the corner of my lips. “Besides, it looks to me like you’re all talk and no action, biscuits.”
Cracker’s eyes darkened, his grin disappearing. “Kill her,” he commanded, his voice cold and deadly.
As the two biscuit soldiers lunged at me, their swords gleaming in the sunlight, I leaped into the air, dodging their attack with ease. While suspended mid-air, I tightened my grip on my sword and swung it with precision, summoning the power imbued within.
"King, I hope this is what you had in mind when teaching me this technique," I whispered to myself, my heart pounding with adrenaline.
"Ice Fang!" I shouted, feeling the blade's cold energy surge forward. A wave of sharp, icy spikes shot out from my sword, racing toward the biscuit soldiers. The ice spread across their bodies, freezing them solid in a matter of seconds.
Landing gracefully, I straightened up and smirked. The frozen soldiers stood motionless for a moment before they shattered into a thousand pieces with a loud crack, scattering across the battlefield.
My gaze shifted back to Cracker, who was now glaring at me with fury.
"You’re gonna have to do better than biscuits," I said, confident as ever, gripping my sword tighter. Suddenly, a biscuit soldier appeared behind me, catching me off guard. I faltered for a moment but quickly dodged as another one emerged from the ground. Cracker now stood tall, smirking.
"Not bad, you're rather quick on your feet," Cracker remarked. Before I could react, he appeared behind me. "But you left your back wide open!" He swung his sword, but I managed to block his attack, tumbling from the force. I scrambled to my feet, meeting his gaze.
"Is that son of Germa really that important to you?" he taunted.
"You don’t get it," I snapped, standing firm. "Sanji may be a lot of things, but he’s one of a kind. And if the roles were reversed, he would do everything in his power to protect us!"
"Touchy," Cracker sneered, laughing.
"Are we going to talk, or are you actually going to do something?" I shot back, smirking. "Again, not a good look for you, Mr. Overcompensating."
"I’m not too fond of pain," Cracker growled, lunging at me. "But I doubt you can stop me anyway!"
Switching my sword from my right to my left hand, I clenched my left fist and dashed past him, taunting, "Over here!" He spun around, but I dashed once more, using the momentum to strike. Clenching my right hand this time, I punched him in the abdomen, sending him flying a few feet away. I breathed heavily, trying to steady myself.
Cracker recovered quickly, lunging at me again. I raised my sword to block his attack, but his strikes were relentless, forcing me to fall back with each blow.
"You're quite a feisty one, aren’t you?" he said, amused.
"So I've been told," I muttered, struggling to catch my breath.
"Marriage or not," Cracker grinned, "I think I’m going to take my sweet time killing you." He raised his sword, preparing to strike.
Suddenly, a familiar voice rang out. "Don’t you touch her!" Cracker was sent flying, crashing into the ground. Luffy stood there, glaring at him.
"Y/N is part of my crew!" Luffy declared. I let out a sigh of relief, collapsing onto my back for a brief moment.
"Sorry I took so long," Luffy said, flashing me a smile.
I got up and smiled back at him. "It's fine, biscuits all yours."
With a graceful leap, I landed back inside King Baum’s mouth. Nami immediately hugged me tightly.
"You scared me back there!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling.
"Sorry about that, Nami," I said softly, placing my sword behind me and falling to my knees, feeling the weight of the battle finally catch up to me.
"Cocky punk, it does take a lot of nerve to pick a fight with Mama," Cracker sneered, glaring at Luffy.
"Hey Nami, Y/N, have the trees protect you," Luffy said, never taking his eyes off Cracker. Nami nodded confidently, pulling out Lola’s Vivre Card with a grin, knowing it would render the homies powerless.
Cracker’s expression darkened. "Those traitorous trees and your friends are next, of course."
But Luffy wasn’t paying attention to Cracker's threats. Instead, his focus was on the burnt biscuits littering the battlefield. "That smells good," he muttered, his stomach growling.
"They’re still food!" Luffy’s eyes lit up. "Then that makes it easy!"
Nami smirked and pulled out a Weather Egg. "Rain Spark!" she called, unleashing rain from the sky. The biscuit soldiers, hard and durable, quickly softened under the downpour.
"I get it—you soften the biscuits!" I exclaimed, realizing Nami’s plan.
With the biscuits softened, Luffy wasted no time. He began tearing into them, eating each one with fervor as Cracker summoned more.
Cracker clapped his hands, summoning a fresh wave of biscuit soldiers, but they were no match for the hungry pirate. "Yum, these are good," Luffy said, his mouth full, barely slowing down between bites.
"That son of a birch is eating the biscuits!" Kingbaum exclaimed in disbelief. Every time Cracker created new soldiers, Luffy devoured them just as quickly.
"What is with this guy?!" Cracker yelled, frustration evident as Luffy ate the biscuits faster than they could attack.
"Luffy, let's fall back for a sec," Nami suggested, trying to pull him away from the endless biscuits.
"No way, I’m eating them all," Luffy replied stubbornly, his face determined.
Nami smirked, knowing exactly how to get his attention. "What if I told you I can make them more delicious?"
Luffy's eyes widened with excitement. "More delicious?! Let’s go!" He immediately followed us, dragging the biscuit soldiers along with him.
Minutes passed, and Luffy had eaten every biscuit Cracker could produce, leaving the Sweet General visibly rattled.
"Luffy is really putting in the work," I said to Nami, watching in awe as Luffy continued to devour the endless biscuit army.
"When it comes to food, there’s no stopping him," Nami laughed.
"You little punk!" Cracker shouted, incredulous. "How are you still eating?!"
"How much more can his stomach take?" Kingbaum whispered in disbelief. "He’s going to explode!"
"Looks like Cracker is starting to wear out," I said to Nami, eyeing the Sweet Commander as his exhaustion began to show. His movements were sluggish, and the frustration on his face was undeniable.
"As for you, King Baum," Cracker growled, his tone dripping with malice, "Mama is going to be furious about your betrayal."
He turned his attention back to me, his expression twisted with irritation. "This would’ve been over long ago if you hadn’t saved that insufferable woman," he sneered, clearly referring to me.
"My biscuit warriors are supposed to be invincible!" he yelled in frustration, pacing angrily. "And now look! That orange-haired girl reduced them into—into yummy crunchy goodness!" His voice cracked as he tried to keep up his pride.
I couldn’t help but smirk, taking full advantage of his moment of weakness. "Again with the biscuits," I said, stepping forward confidently. "You’re really overcompensating for something, Cracker. It’s okay to admit you can’t perform... well," I added with a teasing smile, placing my hand on the bandana Zoro had given me, now tied around my head. "Maybe it’s just not your day."
Cracker’s face flushed with anger as he gritted his teeth. "You insolent—"
"Stop your whining! This is a pirate battle!" Nami interrupted with a fierce glare. "So what if I found out your weakness? It doesn't mean you can take it out on my underlings!"
I burst out laughing. "Ooooh, underlings! Y'all just got dropped a tier, homies!" I teased, wiping away fake tears of laughter.
"What?! Underlings! Is that what we’re reduced to now?!" one of the homies exclaimed in disbelief.
"Is that a problem?" Nami asked coolly, waving Lola's Vivre Card in her hand.
"No, ma’am!" the homies responded, shrinking back under the power of the card.
Meanwhile, Luffy continued to stuff his face with biscuits, much to Cracker’s horror. "So you’re finally full!" Cracker shouted, desperate to end the madness.
"He’s just getting started!" Nami retorted, though even she was starting to look concerned. Luffy's belly was swollen beyond comprehension.
"Nami, he looks like he’s going to pop," I said, half concerned, half in awe of Luffy’s appetite.
"There’s no way he can eat more!" the homies yelled, eyes wide with shock.
"I don’t need you to throw up to win this!" Cracker bellowed, rushing toward Luffy with his sword raised. "I’ll slice you up!"
"Careful, Luffy!" I yelled, gripping my sword.
But Luffy, grinning from ear to ear, was unfazed. "Joke's on you! I’m stuffed with power! Muscle Balloon!" Luffy shouted, inflating his body further by blowing into his arm, swelling to an enormous size.
"What the hell?" Cracker stammered, suddenly backing away, realizing too late what was about to happen.
"Fourth Gear, go!" Luffy declared, his body transforming into an even bigger, more intimidating form. "I call this Tank Man: Stuffed Version!"
Cracker attempted to slash at Luffy, but his attack did nothing to the hulking form. "You’ve pushed me over the edge! It’s over—time to die!" Cracker screamed in frustration, trying desperately to land a blow on Luffy.
Suddenly, there was a blinding flash of light. Nami and I shielded our eyes. "Luffy!" we shouted, worried.
When the light faded, Cracker was being sucked into Luffy’s massive form. "Gomu Gomu no Cannonball!" Luffy roared, launching Cracker far into the distance, his biscuit soldiers crumbling into pieces.
"He did it!" Nami and I screamed in unison, hugging each other in excitement.
"Luffy, you alright?" Nami asked as we rushed over to him.
"Uh-huh," he groaned, clearly exhausted but triumphant.
"It looks like you’re shrinking," Nami observed, noticing Luffy’s body deflating slowly.
"That’s because Fourth Gear uses a lot of energy," Luffy explained, his voice tired but still full of satisfaction. He lay back, too full to move.
Suddenly, from behind a tree, Pound stepped out. "So, there you are!" Nami exclaimed.
"Pound! You were hiding this whole time?!" I yelled, shaking my head in disbelief.
"Kind of... I ran away so Cracker wouldn't kill me. I for sure thought you were going to lose," said Pound, rubbing his neck nervously.
"Wow, such faith," I said, rolling my eyes at his bluntness.
"Kind of blunt, don’t you think?" Nami added with a sigh.
"That was scary... but we won!" Nami exclaimed, her face lighting up with a grin as we both laughed and cheered in victory.
We glanced over at King Baum, Pound, and the other homies, who weren't exactly celebrating. "Would it kill you to cheer? We beat one of Big Mom's top fighters, after all!" Nami shouted, hands on her hips.
Pound, still looking frantic, responded, "Listen, you're in much more trouble than before! Once Mama's rage is awakened, there's no stopping her! In other words, you need to get the heck out of here before she finds out what you did to her boys!"
"She can get as mad as she wants; I don’t care! I’m the one who should be mad here!" Luffy grumbled from the ground, still too full to move. "How could Sanji leave without telling us why? All we got is a dumb note!"
"You're right, Captain," I said, feeling the frustration boil up inside me. "I'mma knock some sense into him for writing me that note and saying we were engaged!" My voice was laced with annoyance, fists clenched as I thought about the situation.
Nami smirked at me, her frustration mirroring mine. "Honestly, what was he thinking?" she muttered under her breath.
"We only made it this far using Pudding’s map, and no one has seen Pekoms," said Luffy. "We should have gotten Sanji by now, but he didn’t show up at the coast. I don’t know if they got lost or if this is a trap. Once Sanji gets married, he'll be part of Big Mom's crew, and it'll be too late. We have to get moving!"
Luffy, still struggling to get up from the ground, groaned in determination. "Cracker did say there was a ceremony today." "It’s still morning; we might have enough time to stop them!" Nami said, a glimmer of hope in her voice.
"Hey, tree! You know where the castle is?" Luffy called out.
King Baum hesitated before replying, "Yes…"
"Good, you're carrying me there!" Luffy declared with renewed energy.
"I refus—" King Baum started, but quickly clammed up when Nami pulled out the vivre card with a threatening smile.
"We’re taking Sanji back and stopping your wedding, Y/N," Luffy said firmly, his voice full of resolve.
"Oh, Y/N, here’s your bag," Nami said, suddenly remembering. She handed me my satchel, and I grinned.
"Thanks, Nami," I said, relieved to have it back. I pressed all three gemstones on my sword, watching as it shrunk before placing one of the blades inside the bag, the other securely fastened to my thigh halter.
With a final glance at the others, I gave a confident nod. "Alright, I’m ready."
Sanji POV…
As I entered the chariot, my heart felt heavier with every passing second. My mind raced, torn between the decision I was being forced to make and the things I truly cherished. Everything I loved… it was slipping away. The thought of being married made me sick to my core, but what choice did I have? If I wanted to save my friends... if I wanted to keep Zeff safe… if I wanted to keep y/n safe… I had no other option. This wasn’t just about me anymore.
I clenched my fists, the cursed bracelets around my wrists reminding me that my hands—my livelihood—were at stake. No matter what I wanted, one wrong move, and they’d be gone forever. I couldn’t even protect Y/N. I couldn’t stop Ichiji from marrying her. The memories flooded in—the Baratie, Zeff’s tough love, the day I met Y/N, her smile, our adventures with the crew. Every moment felt so distant now, as if they were slipping from my grasp, just like her.
Stuck between Niji and Yonji, I couldn’t move. Their smug faces on either side of me made my blood boil. I knew if I tried to make a break for it, they'd be on me in seconds, and the bracelets would do the rest of the damage. They’d already proven that.
Y/N POV..
"Well, we’re finally out of that hell of a forest," I sighed, resting my back on King Baum’s head as we moved through the open area. Luffy was resting as well, while Nami sat beside him, trying to catch her breath.
Suddenly, a familiar voice called out, "Nami! You guys! Can you hear me?!"
"It’s Chopper!" Nami exclaimed, holding up a small glass shard, which Chopper's voice came through. Relief and tension both surged through me. At least Chopper was okay.
"We’ve got a big problem! It’s Sanji! He’s heading to Big Mom right now!" Chopper’s frantic words echoed.
“Crap!” I muttered under my breath, heart pounding.
"We’re heading to the castle too!" Nami responded quickly, trying to gather more information.
"What about Brook and Pedro?" I asked, the worry creeping in. We hadn’t heard from them at all, and I couldn’t help but feel a gnawing anxiety over their safety.
"We haven’t heard from them at all," Nami added, glancing at me with shared concern.
Suddenly, Chopper’s voice broke into panic, his screams growing louder before the shard shattered in Nami’s hand.
“Is everything alright, Chopper?!” I yelled, but it was no use. The shard was broken. I stared at the pieces on the ground, feeling helpless. "How are they going to communicate now?" I muttered.
Nami knelt down, picking up one of the broken shards. "I hope they’re okay," she whispered softly.
"Poor Sanji..." Nami added, her voice filled with sorrow.
“These bastards have got another thing coming, that’s for sure,” I said through gritted teeth, clenching my right hand as I felt the familiar red electricity surge through me, a fierce wave of anger rolling over me.
Luffy, now back to normal size after shrinking down, muttered in his sleep, "Give me meat."
Nami and I exchanged amused glances. "Meat?!" I chuckled, shaking my head. "He would have meat dreams after eating those biscuits."
"Hey there! You’ve got good luck!" King Baum’s voice broke through, as he picked up speed.
"Why is that?" Nami asked.
"There they are," King Baum replied, pointing ahead.
"What?!" I exclaimed, my heart racing as I leaned forward.
"That’s Germa 66," he said, his voice filled with urgency.
“Is Sanji with them?” Luffy asked as he suddenly woke up, leaping off King Baum’s head and running ahead.
“Luffy, wait!” Nami yelled, but it was too late. He was already off.
"Sanji!" Nami and I shouted, waving as we saw him up ahead.
But just as we got close, Sanji… he kicked Luffy.
"Sanji, what the heck’s gotten into you?!" Nami screamed, her voice filled with shock.
"Sanji..." I whispered, my heart dropping as I stared at him in disbelief. What had happened to him? Why was he acting this way?
"Leave my sight, you bunch of lowlife pirates," Sanji spat, his voice cold and unrecognizable. "Make no mistake, I’ve always been a Vinsmoke, which makes me a prince of the Germa Kingdom."
I tensed, my mind reeling. "What the hell is he saying?" I whispered, feeling both disbelief and frustration boiling inside me. Both Nami and I stood frozen, watching the scene unfold before us.
Sanji continued, "I kept all of this a secret because knowing this would’ve made things harder for you."
I couldn’t take it anymore. Standing up, I slowly took off Zoro’s bandana from my head, folding it carefully and placing it into my satchel, along with one of my blades and my sword. "Nami, I leave this with you," I said, my voice steady but filled with determination.
“What are you…?” Nami looked at me, confused and concerned.
"Just make sure no one takes it, please. And if they do… well, they’ll be in for a surprise," I added, smirking slightly despite the weight of the moment. "Can you do that for me, Nami?" I asked, looking at her intently, knowing this was something important for me to trust her with.
Nami nodded, still looking unsure of my next move. Before I could even say anything more, Sanji's voice cut through the air like a blade.
"It’s noble of you to come all the way over here and get me, but you’ve wasted your time. I’m not leaving. I’ve already forgotten your name," he said coldly, every word sharper than the last.
His words felt like a punch in the gut, fueling the anger already burning inside me. My heart pounded in my chest, disbelief turning to frustration and rage. This wasn’t the Sanji I knew, the Sanji who cared about his friends, about us.
“What a liar,” Luffy yelled, his frustration matching my own. “You think I’m gonna buy that?!”
The tension in the air was suffocating, and I could feel the red electricity sparking through my fingertips again. My patience was at its limit. Sanji's words cut deep, but I wasn’t about to let him walk away so easily, especially not with those lies.
Sanji POV… (Play La Media Vuelta By Luis Miguel here)
Stuck between Niji and Yonji, I felt like I was trapped in a cage. Their smug expressions were infuriating, and my blood boiled at the sight of them. I knew any attempt to escape would be met with swift punishment, and these cursed bracelets would make sure of that. Just the thought of them made my fists clench tighter.
Suddenly, a familiar voice broke through the chaos. "Hey! Sanji!" I turned my head, eyes widening in disbelief as I saw Luffy charging forward with with a giant tree.
“that idiot managed to make it to Whole Cake Island?! “What’s with that tree?!” yelled Yonji, incredulous.
"Sanji!" Nami called out, waving her arms with a look of determination. “We finally made it! I was afraid we’d be too late!”
Her voice sent a jolt of relief through me, but it quickly faded when I noticed the way Niji and Yonji's eyes lit up at the sight of y/n. Their smugness only grew, and the protective instinct within me flared.
“There’s my beloved,” Ichiji said, his eyes heart-shaped as he gazed at Y/N, which made my blood boil even more.
“Ichiji, your wife’s here,” Yonji added, still eyeing Y/N, and I wanted nothing more than to gauge their eyes out for the way they were looking at her.
The situation felt like a ticking time bomb. I had to keep them safe. “What are they doing here?” I muttered, panic rising in my throat.
“How amusing, that’s Straw Hat Luffy,” Judge remarked, his voice dripping with disdain.
“Hey! We came here to pick you up!” Luffy shouted, tipping over the calicoat as he stumbled. “You said you’d be back, but I didn’t want to wait. You know me. I was going to come with just Y/N, but it turned into a whole thing!”
My mind raced, battling between relief and fear. I couldn’t let them get caught up in this mess. I glanced at my cuffs, knowing that if I made a break for it, they would explode, and I couldn’t risk that.
“Zoro took a team and headed to the land of Wano,” Luffy continued, unaware of the suffocating tension surrounding us.
“And what’s this I hear? You’re engaged to Y/N! Why didn’t you tell us? We could have done something back at the Sunny!” His words hit me like a wave of ice-cold water.
Luffy, Y/N, Nami… please forgive me… I thought, the weight of my helplessness crushing down on me. In an instant, I made my decision. I couldn’t let them get any closer to this danger.
“Sanji, what the heck’s gotten into you?!” Nami shouted, disbelief etched across her face. I could see the hurt in her eyes, and it twisted my heart even more.
“Leave my sight, you bunch of low-class pirates!” I spat, my voice heavy with disdain. “Make no mistake, I’ve always been a Vinsmoke, which makes me a prince of the Germa Kingdom. I kept all this a secret from you because knowing this would have made things harder.”
Luffy’s stunned expression made me feel even worse, but I pushed on. “As you can see, there’s a clear difference in our standings now. If I stay here, I’ll have all the servants, soldiers, and riches I could ever dream of.” Each word felt like daggers in my chest, but I had to make them believe I meant it.
The way Nami flinched at my words was like a punch to the gut. I was losing them—losing everything I cared about. But I had to protect them. I had to protect Y/N, even if it meant sacrificing my own heart.
“Sanji…” I heard Y/N whisper, her voice cracking as she processed my betrayal. I couldn't look at her; I was afraid of what I might see. Would she understand? Would she forgive me for playing this role?
Inside, I was trembling. I was stuck between wanting to protect them and the cold, harsh reality of my situation. “If I stay here, I’ll have all the servants, soldiers, and riches I could ever dream of. What more could I want?” I sneered, my voice laced with disdain.
“So I could go to that crappy ship with you and your friends and go on a dumb adventure,” I sneered, forcing a smirk that felt more like a grimace. “Or I can stay right here and marry the beautiful daughter of a wealthy and powerful emperor. Now, which of those would make me happier?” I took a deep breath, preparing to drive the final nail in the coffin. “Here, I’ll spell it out: I just wrote that note to get you off my back.”
“Yeah? Well, what about my note, Sanji?” The voice was unmistakable, cutting through the tension like a knife. Y/N came down from the tree, her eyes ablaze with anger. If looks could kill, I’d be dead by now.
“You wrote some bold statements on my note. Here, I even have it.” She pulled it out from her chest, and my heart sank. I couldn’t bear to look at her, knowing I had shattered everything.
As she stood there, I took in her appearance for the first time. Behind the rage, I could see the signs of her struggle. Her white dress was covered in dirt, her sleeve torn off, and deep scratches marred her legs. But she still looked beautiful—my princess, my everything.
“Y/N, I’m sorry for what I’m about to say,” I thought, wishing I could take it all back. I wanted to hold her, to tell her it was all a lie, that I would never marry Pudding. I wanted to confess how I felt about her, to explain that her reckless plan—her being in Dressrosa and me sailing here—almost cost me my sanity.
I wanted to tell her she was the only one I wanted to be with, that I regretted every moment I didn’t fight for her. I wanted to prove I was the man she deserved, especially after that disaster back on Fishman Island.
But instead, I clenched my fists and said the words that would cut deeper than any blade: “You mean absolutely nothing to me.”
Every syllable felt like poison as it left my mouth, and I hated myself for it. I saw her expression shift, hurt washing over her features. It was a look I knew I’d never forget. But I had to keep my distance, keep her safe. And as much as it broke me, I had to see this through.
“You mean absolutely nothing to me,” I repeated, my voice cold, the words feeling like shards of glass in my throat.
Nami’s voice cut through the tension like a lightning bolt. “Say the truth, Sanji! That wasn’t what you said to Pudding!”
The air around us grew thick with tension, and I could see Y/N tense at Nami’s words, her eyes flashing with uncertainty and pain.
“I told her that I didn’t care about Y/N,” I said, each word a betrayal I loathed, “and that I didn’t love her.” I hated myself for saying it, each syllable a dagger to my own heart.
“Stop lying!” Nami shouted, her voice filled with desperation.
I glanced over at Y/N, and she raised her hand, turning toward Nami with a broken smile. “It’s okay, Nami,” she said softly, but I could see the pain etched in her features, the tears threatening to spill over. I wanted to wipe them away, to tell her that none of it was true, that I did love her, that she was my princess, and that we were engaged. I didn’t care if that part was a lie; the love I felt for Y/N was as real as the air I breathed.
“You know,” she began, her voice steady but strained, “you can insult me or try to convince me that what you’re saying is true, but I want you to look me in the eyes and tell me.” Her gaze locked onto mine, fierce and unwavering. “Tell me you want this… tell me you hate me! I want to hear it from your mouth! Tell me you hate me, obliterate me with your words; I don’t care! Tell me that I mean nothing to you once again, that you want to be with Pudding and live that fantasy of a life. Tell me that you found a love that understands you and loves you more than anyone! And if that is truly what you want, and you can look me in the eyes and say it, I will turn around, and I will be gone with the sun by dusk.”
Her words hit me like a tsunami, each one crashing into me, suffocating me. I opened my mouth to respond, but all I could manage was, “I…”
“Tell me now!” she yelled, the pain in her voice laced with desperation as her body was surrounded by an aura of red electricity, crackling in tune with her emotions.
What is this? I thought, my heart racing. I was caught in the whirlwind of my own lies and her heartache, a maelstrom that threatened to tear us both apart. Her gaze pierced through me, and I could see the flicker of hope in her eyes as she waited for my response, and it crushed me further.
I was losing her, losing everything, and yet, here I was, shackled by my own choices, unable to break free. I wanted to scream the truth, to confess everything—to tell her how much she meant to me. But the weight of my lies held me down, suffocating the words in my throat. I was drowning in the consequences of my actions.
The electricity around Y/N crackled even more fiercely, her hurt and fury tangible. Every second I remained silent was another moment she drifted further away from me. This was it. This was the moment she would leave if I didn’t speak the truth.
But I couldn’t. My lips trembled, but the words never came.

~🐶☀️💕🦋🦌~
It's that special time once again, to show your heart and spread the love to all you care for~💕💝💕🤗And this year, I would like to take opportunity to dedicate my annual Valentine to my newest OTP, Smiling Critter DogDay x my OC, DeerDelight~🐶☀️💘🦋🦌 I was thinking what songs would fit their ship, and one that stood out to me the most, was one I've listened to ever since I finished college, back in 2008 - 'Hikaru Michi' a.k.a 'The Shining Road', which is the second closing theme to the well-known anime, Sonic X~🎶I remember seeing a music video years ago with tender moments between Sonic and Amy Rose from the show, and that was when inspiration struck~💡💗✍️ I decided to draw DogDay and DeerDelight in the same emotional reunion with Sonic and Amy, where he promised he would never leave her ;w; But instead of a rose, I chose forget-me-nots for DogDay to give to DeerDelight. The reason, is the meaning behind them - a symbol of true love and devotion, declaring love to another and representing a promise that you will always remember them~💝 Forget-me-nots are also considered a symbol of fidelity (loyalty) and faithfulness~🫶🏻 And this is what is happening between the two adorable critters right now. With DogDay declaring his love to DeerDelight (something she had always secretly hoped and wished for~🌟🙏🏻) and vowing that he will never ever forget her, and will always be with her by her side, no matter what...~🥹To which DeerDelight emotionally yet happily accepts, as they seal their love with a tender kiss and embrace~🐶☀️💕🦋🦌
To give the wholesome moment between DogDay and DeerDelight more feeling, I decided to add the last three sentences of the last verse of the song, both in Japanese and English, along with adding details of the shadowing and falling tears, which I have to say I'm really proud of~👍🏻😊✨ ‘Sigh...~’💕😌I am ever so pleased of how this precious piece turned out, just the way I imagined it to be and I really enjoyed working on it too~💓🥰 And a very💗💘💝~Happy Valentine’s Day 2024~💝💘💗to you too, my lovelies~! =^o^=🫂Hope you all like as well, have a lovely day and spread the love~!💞🫶🏻💕😍💕🫶🏻💞xoxo.
*~Reblogs are also deeply appreciated as well, so please do reblog as well as like! Thank-you kindly!~*

Idk I'm basing off a tiktok animation trend I saw but gromsko or Krueger are invited by their Co worker or a fellow opt asking them to join dinner with their family, and their like sure. When the day comes they go "also meet my son" and comes in transfem reader, obviously a very pretty woman 😭 I'm sorry if this is weird, there's a lack of transfem reader so I'm desperate
OKAY LISTEN, I LOVE THIS IDEA-- And it's true, I feel; us transmasc folks do tend to get more of the spotlight when it comes to x reader fics. We need to give the queens their love too! Enjoy!~
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Krueger wasn't exactly certain how he found himself in this situation. It wasn't that he was unaccustomed per se, at fancy get togethers such as this. His time in the military as well as his status had lent him and invite to plenty of office parties. So when another Chimera operator had approached him, asking if he'd attend their family's party as a plus one, he wasn't inclined to say no. Being a plus one meant getting in free and not necessarily having to do much mingling with the strangers around him.
Unfortunately for the Austrian man, everyone and their mother seemed curious as to who he was there with. Surely it wasn't that uncommon for well-dressed men to end up alone at a fancy party, was it? He was beginning to question if he was out of his element, more suited for the field when another glamorous couple approached.
"Sebastian Krueger is it?" The man said, extending his hand to be shook. "My wife and I have heard so much about you."
Krueger takes the man's hand out of politeness. "You have, have you?" He asks, still completely oblivious as to who the two strangers were.
"Oh yes, our son tells us all about what a fantastic mentor you are," the wife goads, her haughty tone making the Austrian's eyebrow twitch. "He's the one who invited you did he not?"
"Mother, father, give him some breathing room please..." Comes a familiar voice. The couple part to make you known and Krueger can't help the way his eyebrows raise. The aforementioned "son" was none other than you, the new recruit, and the most gorgeous woman the soldier had laid eyes on.
"Absolut atemberaubend..." He mumbles under his breath before clearing his throat. "Y/N, your parents could use some manners in introductions, schatz." The man steps forward between your mother and father, the pair looking rather shocked whether by your appearance or his response, neither of you would know. He takes your hand softly in his bigger calloused one, pressing a kiss to the back of it.
"K-Krueger...!" Your face heats up at his actions, staring up at him as he comes to stand before you proper. The musicians your parents hired begin to play a slower song, leading your mentor to drag you away to the dance floor proper. He guides you in a slow back-and-forth, your dress flowing softly behind you. "You didn't have to do that."
"Nonsense," Kruger tells you, one hand on your waist while the other still holds your soft hand. "They can bear one night of addressing their daughter properly. You do look rather stunning."
You can't help but laugh and break eye contact from him. "Stop that!" You laugh, lightly batting his shoulder. "...I do pass though, right?"
"You, Y/N are the most stunning woman here...and don't let anyone, especially not your bigoted parents tell you otherwise."
