I'm on a roll thinking about this show. So let's give credit where credit is due: (Apology Tour spoilers ahead.)
Blitzø had HUGE character growth in Apology Tour.
We see in the beginning of the episode, Blitzø is behaving pretty much how Blitzø behaves normally: sexually inappropriate. It's what he's kinda been known for since the start.
We know that, prior to Full Moon, these advances were welcomed by Stolas.
However, this isn't the case now. Stolas makes it very clear that he doesn't want their relationship to be about sex. He goes on to say he doesn't believe Blitzø owes him feelings in return, but that Stolas' own confession shouldn't be ignored.
A LOT is being discussed in this scene; some things are being alluded to/danced around, while other things are directly spoken about.
But one thing is clear: things cannot go back to how they were before.
Blitzø reacts with anger, the emotion to which he is very accustomed, before running off on his Apology Tour.
To cut this post much shorter than my last analysis, we'll skip to the end party!
Blitzø finds Stolas after his (absolute banger) song. Their entire conversation scene is filled with touching, and none of it is sexual. There's no grabbing, just holding.
Blitzø's actual apology to Stolas gets interrupted by Better Than Blitzø guy. While Blitzø is clearly annoyed by this, he sees Stolas wanting to dance with this guy, and waves him off to do so. While Stolas didn't need this permission, it was polite of him to request it.
And it's the first of three major moments that Blitzø shows inner maturity.
The Blitzø from earlier that day would have shoved Better Than guy, or grabbed Stolas and carried him off elsewhere. He would have at least screamed at this guy.
While Stolas and Better Than are off dancing, Blitzø finds Verosika and gets the much needed truth: that his actions hurt people.
Which prompts the response from deep within Blitzø: "I don't wanna be this way. Not forever."
Being able to admit he wanted to change was a massive step for Blitzø.
After one more moment of anger at Better Than guy making out with Stolas, Blitzø follows Verosika's advice. He lets go.
Blitzø leaves the party without another word.
He lets Stolas have his space. He doesn't try to interfere anymore. He's said his part, albeit to a drunk Stolas, and he realizes that he can do no further good by being there.
As much as he's hurting here, Blitzø is growing.

Girl in a Box
Epilogue for Sweet Treats AU: by character | chronological | epilogues
Warnings: these drabbles will include dark elements such as noncon, control, intimidation, and other stuff that may not be specified. Take this as you chance to scroll by.
Please let me know what you think <3
🍒🍒🍒
At first, you assume the tapping is a tree branch or some critter searching for a hole in the foundation. It’s too persistent, too repetitive. It scratches at the back of your head as you try to unpack. You don’t know why you bother. It’s just a weekend away. It’s good to keep busy. That way you don’t have to think about Bucky’s sour mood.
You knew it wouldn’t be like your dreams. Relationships are different. They take work. They’re imperfect but it all feels like it’s going sideways.
For a little while longer, you can excuse his moods as symptoms of his grief, of his uncertainty. Worse than losing someone is not knowing their fate. You can’t begin to imagine the toll of that. You can be patient but only so far.
Still, you don’t know if you really have the strength to cut the rope. It’s early. This is your first trip. Let it be the litmus test. Take it one day at a time and let things unfold before you jump into doom.
Taptaptap, tap-tap-tap, taptaptap.
God, that’s so annoying. You turn to stare at the wall. You round the bed and near the incessant noise. It sounds like it’s coming from inside. No, the other side.
You listen again. There’s a pattern; three fast taps, three slow, three fast, then a pause. Then it starts over.
You put your hand against the wood as the cycle repeats. You curl your fingers and press your knuckles to the wall. You knock, in that little rhythm you do at your parents place; taptap tap-tap-tap tap tap. You wait and the tap responds in kind..
You pull back and think. The next room. Steve stopped there and asked if someone was okay. It must be the girlfriend he alluded to.
Should you go check on her? Is that too much? You hate to overstep. She’s obviously trying to get your attention. Maybe you could just go get Steve.
You sway in limbo and make yourself move. You pull open the door and step into the hall. You listen to the house. You don’t hear much, a low drone but so distant it could be the wind. You think you heard the guys go outside earlier but you can’t be sure. There was just the decisive open and close of the front door.
You tiptoe down to the next door. You stop and stare at it, hesitant to knock. What if she’s sleeping and you wake her? What if it’s some trick of your mind? You linger, chewing your knuckle as you try to decide.
“Hey,” a voice wafts under the door and you look down as fingers poke through the space beneath, “hey, can you unlock the door?”
You stare down at the wiggling digits as they reach through. What the hell? You grasp the knob and jiggle it. It is locked. Why?
“What...” you pause and get down on your knees, “what’s going on? Are you with Steve?”
“Does it matter? Please, can you let me out?” She hisses.
You blink and sit back on your heels, “why is it locked?”
She sighs and retracts her fingers, “are you going to help me or are you going to keep asking questions?”
Her sharpness is jarring but you figure if you were locked in, you’d be a bit claustrophobic too. You get up and feel around the door handle. You find the mechanism on the side and flick it. The handle is backward, that should be on the inside.
The knob twists and a woman pulls it open from the other side. Before you can react, she yanks you in by your arm. She covers your mouth before you can yelp.
“Alright, we gotta play this smart,” she says, “how many cars are here?”
You grumble into her palm as your brows draw together. She squints at you and shifts her hand to press her index to your lips. She hushes you before she draws away.
“We have to get out of here,” she keeps her voice low.
“What? Why?” You sputter.
“These men are psycho.”
“N-no, Bucky’s my boyfriend?” You begin
“If he’s hanging out with Steve, he’s a piece of shit,” she hisses.
“Oh? Are you... fighting?”
“Fighting?!” She scoffs, “I’m not with him. I don’t even know where I am.”
“Huh?” You blink dumbly.
“Right, so you got the good guy. Lucky you. Well, good ole Cap has been keeping me in a cage. Dried me out good. If you wanna stay, go for it. After all, why would trust the crazy lady? I’m going--”
“But... you can’t. How--”
“I have to get out of here and if you have any sense in your head, you will too.”
“I... maybe I should get Steve...”
“Shut up,” she snarls, “don’t fucking do that. Are you kidding me?”
“Sorry, I don’t... I don’t understand.”
She frowns and crosses her arms. She goes to the window and pulls the curtain back. She clucks as she turns inward again and huffs.
“Right, I’m not gonna get that far, even if I can finagle some keys off one of those fuckers. You got a phone?”
“Uh, sure, but there’s no reception.”
“Doesn’t matter, I just need the phone,” she insists. “You’ll get it back, alright?”
“Sure, guess I’m not using it,” you shrug and back up.
“Hey, hey,” she catches up to you, “please don’t blow this. I’m begging you. Just trust me, please.”
You look her in the face. She’s desperate. The more you look at her, the more concerning her appearance is. She wears only a tee shirt and there’s a dark stain on the collar. You think she might even have a few bruises. Her lips are chapped to her eyes slightly foggy.
“I won’t say anything,” you promise.
You don’t know if you should trust her but something about her plea strikes a chord. You leave her to get your phone and come back. You tell her the code to unlock it as you hand it over. She swiftly does so and starts to flick her thumb over the screen.
“Okay, right,” she nods and looks at you, “lock me in.”
“Huh?”
“He can’t know you were in here. Plan B,” she wiggles the phone at you. “I can’t run. I’m still withdrawing. I’ll pass out in some ditch. So I’ll play by the Cap’s rules. As far as you’re concerned, I’ve never seen your face in my life. So get out and lock the door.”
“But-- wait--”
She nudges you into the hall and she shuts the door, keeping the knob twisted so it doesn’t click. Slowly she turns it into place and stare at the wood. It makes no sense but you don’t need a lecture from Bucky about respect. You flip the lock back into place.
As you walk back to your room, the desolation sets in, underlining your confusion. Something isn’t right about this place. Yet, what could be wrong? Steve and Bucky are heroes. They’re the good guys, aren’t they?

Total $hit$how: Thorns Around His Throat
in which Hunter makes a choice

“Where was he taken?”
“I don't know, I—I saw a van, I remember part of the plate.”
“They can't be too far. We need to find him.”
Jericho and makeup guy were spouting back and forth, nervous colors buzzing around their heads like tv static. Hunter probably should've left as soon as makeup guy (Benny or whatever) came in. Gone back to his room, gone back to Vic, something. Should've left before Jericho could start digging into him, looking for answers he didn't really want.
What was he gonna do about it? Hunter hurt Sahota and Vic told him to, so the fuck what? They were all stuck here until the mission was done, whether they liked Vic’s methods or not. Hunter would find a way to stay, earn it however he had to, whether Jericho approved of it or not.
He didn't need his approval. He didn't need to listen to him. Jericho had a family. Kids or something. Parents who still wanted to know where he was even as a grown ass adult. He didn't get it, couldn't get it.
And anyway, Vic hadn't meant it. He was just testing Hunter, just making sure he really wanted it, making sure he could listen. And even if he did mean it, who cared? Hunter had done worse things for worse people, taken beatings for bosses who didn't give a shit about him. At least Vic cared. At least Vic would tell him he did good when it was all over.
He wondered if Sahota was in the same boat. What had got him to stay? It wasn't something Hunter'd thought about before now, even though it had always been obvious that this was more than just a job to Sahota. Did Vic bandage his cuts after the interrogation? Tell him good job while he bled? The mental image made him want to cringe away. Wounds he'd caused, twinging jealousy in his stomach.
Sahota was scared of Vic, but Hunter was a little bit scared of him too. He had no doubt Vic could break him apart if he wanted. Put him in his place just like he had with Sahota.
“Is Joy back?”
“She should be by now.”
“We'll need her help. I don't think—” Benny glanced at Hunter, the yellow haze around him darkening a shade. He lowered his voice, but Hunter still heard him.
“Do we tell Vic?”
“Yeah,” Hunter said. Because he looked away. Because he was trying to keep it from him. “I'll get him.”
“I'll get him,” Jericho said, and the purple in his core swirled with a darker shade. Because of Vic? Because of Hunter? Or was he just afraid for Manak, who was stupid enough to get nabbed?
Vic wouldn't be happy. Maybe he'd order them to leave it, let Manak stay kidnapped, wipe the arrogant look off his face. The thought was supposed to be vindicating, but then he pictured Manak, tied up, bleeding like Sahota—
Fuck. Fuck this.
Jericho left him alone with makeup guy, who stayed standing, arms twisted around himself, silent. Hunter looked away from his nervous, shifting yellow, looking for something else, anything else, even as his head pounded along with his heart.
The headaches were basically background noise now, a constant dull pain that could be ignored. At least for a little while, at least when he wasn't trying to find something specific. His eyesockets still throbbed from trying to find a path through the computer earlier, but it was fine. It was fine.
Jericho came back before long, the dark spot in his chest bigger than it was before. Vic was a few steps behind him, followed by muscle girl, and… Sahota. His face was swollen, mottled with purple and red. Same cold eyes, not even looking Hunter's way. Same slate gray.
Hunter turned his attention to his hands, nails digging at the scabbed-over part of his knuckles, focusing on the blooming rosepetals there as his stomach tried to twist itself loose.
“Tell me what happened,” Vic said above him, and Hunter glanced up in time to see Benny tear his eyes off Sahota's busted face, a dark ribbon coiling around his throat.
“Shit,” he whispered, his voice shaking, and Hunter dropped his head, pinching the inside of his wrist until daisies began to bloom there.
“Mr. Ruebin.”
“Fuck. Yeah. We, we found the drop site, but it was rigged with some kind of alarm. Some guys showed up in a van, and just… grabbed Kaius. Drove away. I— I don't even know what direction, I just ran.”
“Was it Finley?” Muscle girl spoke up.
“I don't know who else it would be.”
“Did you find anything at the site?” Vic said.
“Wh— no. Kaius is gone, isn't that more important?”
“The mission is more important.”
He could hear Jericho exhale. “Can't we do both? If we find Kaius, we'll find Finley. Won't that help?”
“We don't have the time.”
“Don't we need him for the mission?”
Even though what he was saying made sense, every word of pushback wound Hunter tighter. If Vic said no, it was for a reason, right? Vic knew better, right?
“We can accomplish what we need to with only four of you.”
“But—”
“Or maybe three.”
Hunter could read the threat there without even looking up, and Jericho didn't say anything else.
“What happens to him then?” Muscle girl cut in, and Hunter's nails dug in deeper at her words.
“He's smart, isn't he? I'm sure he'll find a way out.”
“Just let two of us go after him. It doesn't need to be the whole team.”
“We have other things to get done. Can't spare anyone.”
“Not even for a night? I won't sleep. Sahota…”
Hunter looked up again when she said his name, but the handler's gray was as cold as ever. His brows tipped down as she looked up at him, something darkening in his chest.
Was it fear again? He knew what Hunter knew, what everyone else refused to accept; Vic was in charge here. You couldn't push against him. This had only happened because of their defiance in the first place. If they'd just listened, they could've picked a different target.
“Even if we let you go, the chance of you finding him is slim at best," Sahota said in an empty voice. "Better to not waste any more time.”
Muscle girl's color deflated like an old balloon, dimming as it crumpled in on itself.
“Glad we're all on the same page,” Vic said. “It's unfortunate the drop site yielded so little, but we're capable of moving forward. Mr. Davis, we'll check your traps first thing in the morning and you can work on gathering data from there. Everyone else, start working on an entry plan. Mission's set for the end of the week. Are we clear?”
Hunter nodded, keeping his eyes on the ground. It didn't matter if Benny and the others knew he'd hurt Sahota. It didn't matter if Jericho was mad at him, or thought he was an idiot. All he had to do was make it to the end of the week without fucking up, and then everything would be okay. He glanced up in time to see Vic leave, Sahota tailing behind him. The other three stayed in place, settled in a stubborn kind of quiet.
He could tell they wanted to talk to each other, held back by his presence. Even Jericho knew he'd side with Vic now, just as much as he knew they wanted to oppose him. Would they be dumb enough to actually act on it though? An uneven trail of stars was swirling around muscle girl, a few of them breaking loose to pass Jericho. When she left the room in silence, he followed a few steps behind. Benny gave it a few minutes, arms still wrapped around himself, and then left the library after them.
They had to be going to the same place. To talk where Hunter wouldn't hear, to cook up another plot against Vic, as if that wouldn't get them in even more trouble. He knew they wanted to go after Manak, that Jericho’s "we're a team" extended more to him than it ever would to Hunter. Could he stop them? He knew they wouldn't listen---why the fuck would they?---but he could threaten to tell Vic.
He could tell Vic. Show the others once and for all that he cared more about his place here than any of them, that he'd rather chase Vic's approval than Manak’s life, and that was the truth, wasn't it? It was Manak's own fault that this happened, not Hunter's, so why should he have to suffer for it? Why should Manak get to drag everyone else down with him?
With gritted teeth, Hunter left the library, trying to ignore the throbbing in his eye sockets as he looked for the stars muscle girl was dropping. They went back to Jericho's room, it looked like. Door closed, voices muffled inside.
Should he just knock? Make the threat and hope it was enough to scare them into reason? His fist clenched, but his arm wouldn't budge. Instead he held his breath, trying to listen.
“...after dark is our best chance, right? Vic's gotta sleep at some point.”
“There's a truck up top. I can drive us.”
"How far was it?"
"About an hour."
"I can cut that down."
That was enough to confirm what Hunter already knew. He wasn't surprised, but maybe… a little bothered that they wouldn't listen. A little bothered that they were so sure he'd snitch that they didn't even consider inviting him in.
Well. He would. So they were fucking right about that, he guessed.
But... what if he didn't?
Hunter considered the option for a moment. The idea of walking away, going to bed, trying to sleep off this damn headache, getting up the next day like nothing was off. What would happen if he let them go, but then told them he'd known all along? Would that open up a way for them to trust him? To not hate his fucking guts?
And what happens then?
So maybe they could work together better. Maybe they could be a team, like Jericho said. Maybe even friends, even if it was stupid to expect that much. But then they'd run the mission and it would all be over. Everyone else would go home, and he'd…
Alone again. Jelly and the rest didn't wait for you, you knew they wouldn't.
Would Vic still want him to stay if he knew Hunter'd kept something like this from him?
Probably not, not if he knew he couldn't trust him. Lies never worked for long. Hidden things were always found.
Vic had already promised him a chance at being part of something, something he'd never get from the rest of the team. And maybe Sahota hated him, but let him. Hunter'd lived with plenty of people who'd hated him and survived it, but if Vic kicked him out, he didn't know where he'd go next. Back to Chicago to try and get back into dealing? Back to Rex? He shuddered.
No. Not an option. Fuck the team. They'd already sided against him, why should he try now? It wasn't like he was really screwing them over anyway. They'd done it to themselves when they decided to defy Vic.
Hunter stumbled backwards, trying not to make a sound as he crossed the hall, making a beeline for Vic’s office. When he pushed the door open, his trainer was standing at the head of his desk, flipping through sheets of paper. The green drifting around Vic’s form sharpened with his gaze, a darker shade that might've been annoyance softening when he realized who it was.
At least someone wasn't pissed off at the sight of him.
“Hunter.”
He swallowed. “V--Sir.” Shit, where did he start? He felt like a snitch, but shouldn't he? No. Fuck. Whatever. Vic was looking at him with his eyebrows raised now, new color tainting his green. Fuck.
“Sorry. It's important,” he said. “They're… the other three are gonna go after Manak. I overheard them.” He swallowed again, eyes darting away from Vic's desk, hands twisting around themselves. Vic's color hardly shifted. It got… darker, maybe. Sharper somehow, but there was no flash of surprise or anger.
“I thought it might happen eventually. They're an emotional lot. Unfortunately, that's what you get pulling from the general public.” He set down the stack of papers, falling silent.
“Y-yeah,” Hunter agreed, pinching the skin on the inside of his wrist as hard as he could, eyes dropping to watch daisies sprout from the reddening skin. “Are you gonna stop them?” It felt wrong to ask.
Vic hummed. “No,” he said after a moment. “They can have their crusade. I'll deal with it in the morning.”
Hunter glanced up, but Vic's color was static. He was just gonna let them go? Why?
“What if they don't come back?”
Vic let out a flat chuckle. “They'll come back.”
How did he know? Maybe he didn't. Maybe he just didn't care. Maybe if everyone else ditched it'd just be Hunter, Vic, and Sahota on the mission. Like how it would be in the future, if he managed to not fuck it up.
“Come here.”
Hunter glanced up again, saw Vic pointing at the desk chair. Vic's chair. His tone wasn't trouble, or a warning like it had been for Sahota a few days ago. It was almost something welcoming, almost something soft.
Hunter took the seat, trying not to fidget, trying to keep his attention on Vic. The smell of chlorine stung his nose.
“You have your priorities straight, Hunter,” Vic said, moving beside him to tuck the papers into a folder. “You know what's important, even if the rest of them cave to their feelings.”
“Manak… Manak would be fine on his own,” Hunter said. He didn't know why. Manak didn't matter, he didn't care about Manak.
“True,” Vic said. “But more than logic, I appreciate your loyalty. The importance of obedience is lost on the rest of them. Something that should be corrected before we get into the thick of things.”
“Yeah.” Hunter’s spine seemed to go even straighter when his trainer moved to stand behind him, laying both hands on his shoulders, the chlorine smell clinging to him, smothering.
“I’m proud of the choice you made tonight. You'll be a wonderful addition to my team.”
Light seemed to burst through the tangle of vines in his chest. This was what he wanted, what he needed. He could be whatever Vic asked him to, he could stay.
He could stay, he could stay, he could stay.
It rang through his head, seeming to rise with his heartbeat as a calloused hand gripped his jaw and lifted his head, fingers digging into his cheek, holding him still as Vic’s lips pressed into his.
I can stay, I can be—
The chlorine smell was choking him now, burning his throat, and all he could do was sit there, any thoughts or words or movements split like broken wire.
Vic pulled back, just inches, but Hunter still couldn't move.
“Vic—”
“Shh.” The hand left his chin, moving up to his hair, turning from a stroke to a jerk that pulled a startled yelp from Hunter.
Somehow, the chlorine smell got stronger at the sound, Vic's mouth covering his again.
He felt like he couldn't breathe. “I don't—”
“You want to be a part of my team, hm?” Vic murmured, breath hot and chemical on Hunter's face. “Don't you?”
Yes. But not… he hadn't pictured this.
“I…”
Vic straightened, his hands leaving Hunter, color darkening. “Or maybe not,” he said, his voice immediately cool. “Maybe I misjudged you.”
“No, that's not—”
“Don't lie to me.” The words weren't screamed, or the danger-quiet of a threat, but they were still sharp, twisting in his gut like a knife.
“Vic, I'm— no, I didn't mean that.”
“Then what did you mean? I've poured a lot of time into you. Gave your training a level of attention the others could never hope to earn.”
Is this what he earned?
“I'm sorry,” Hunter mumbled, digging his nails into his palms. “I just— You surprised me.”
“I'm not sure I believe you.” The way Vic’s green was growing darker made him want to throw up. Had he already lost his chance?
“I'll prove it. I won't— I was just caught off guard, please.”
Vic seemed to consider his words, the murkiness in his green dissolving as he stepped closer, seized Hunter's chin, and pulled him into another kiss. This time, Hunter kissed him back, trying, trying to show that he meant it, that he could do this, that this was okay.
“There we go,” Vic murmured against his ear. “Good boy.”
He wanted this, he wanted this. He just wanted to be wanted, he was wanted, it didn't matter how.
Hunter leaned into his trainer, trying to lock onto his body heat and not the heavy smell, but Vic stepped away, a fist bunching into the collar of his t-shirt, tight enough to almost choke him.
“I knew I made the right choice, taking a chance on you.”
Hunter tried to shift his weight, to let up some of the pressure from his throat.
“You know how to follow orders, don't you, Hunter?”
“Yeah.” He could, he'd be perfect, and fuck, Vic was looking at him in a way that could've been loving but it made his skin crawl, and his head hurt so bad. Vic gave the fabric of his collar a sharper twist, and Hunter moved with his fist, knees nearly caving in. He could feel the blood building up in his throat, but Vic's gaze was soft on him, his green brightening with something pleasant; he liked this.
Was it so bad if he did? Hunter could take it. He'd had partners with a thing for pain before and it wasn't that bad. Sometimes it was even fun, just handing over control, letting someone do whatever they fucking wanted to him, anything to get them to stay, anything to get them to want to be there.
“Look at you,” Vic murmured in a voice that felt silken and heavy. “There's something you're suited for.”
His grip loosened abruptly, letting Hunter hit the ground, the brightness never leaving his silhouette.
“I'm finished here for the night,” his trainer said, turning his back as Hunter stood, weight heavy on the office chair. “Why don't you come with me?”
Where? To his room? To bed? Hunter's stomach churned, but he nodded all the same. He wanted this. He liked Vic, he liked Vic liking him, he was just caught off-guard. He wasn't supposed to be caught off-guard. He was adaptable, he could roll with anything, withstand anything, do anything Vic wanted.
Is this what it's like to be loved?
Maybe, fucking maybe.
Vic's eyes were still on him. “What’s your implant showing you right now?”
Petals and vines, coiling inside and around him like anxious snakes. Murky carwash-soap rainbow in his head, filling up his skull with a building pressure, oozing out his eye sockets. Thorns around his throat.
“Dead silver,” he lied. It was what he saw back in the room, with Sahota. The warning before, spinning around them both. The shapes dropping like zapped bugs and melting on the ground. Where were they now? When he looked for shapes, all he could find were Cavan’s stupid stars, fading slowly.
“Where does it lead? To me?”
I want this, I want this, I'll stay, I'll learn.
Hunter rubbed his throat unconsciously, forcing his arm to drop when he realized what he was doing. The pain there was hardly an ache. If that was what Vic wanted, that's what Vic would get.
“Mhm.”

I have major Rui brainrot. But anyways-
A couple of things I caught onto.
At the beginning of the game, they list off all the houses in Darkwick except for Obscuary before finally mentioning there’s a new house being added. That it doesn’t have any general entries (this is after speaking about Jabberwok btw) and that it’s also pretty exclusive to even ghouls. They’re heavily alluding to Obscuary, here. Kaito also starts to say something about their captain before being cut off (this is in one of the entrance ceremony chapters in the prologue).
But heres a couple of brain rot things I have.
If Obscuary is a newer house- what house was Ed and Rui in prior?
I’m sure they were moved to Obscuary because they’re considered high risk to the general populace (and also why there are no general admissions as well).
Ones a vampire. One is a reaper cursed guy who’s touch can kill you. And then they’re moving Lyca there- who is also considered pretty high risk (at least, Darkwick seems to think so).
Additionally, Haku goes out of his way in the beginning to warn Rui about Article 77 & 78. Well- now we know what those Articles entail per the new chapter. Rui seems pretty high risk for getting slapped with that considering his curse makes him a danger to be around. I’m assuming the same for Ed since he’s a vampire but also he did something that I’m sure we’ll find more information out on the next chapter. I hope. I cope.
I’m curious if Lyca being placed in Obscuary is also meant to be taken as a message (he’s definitely going to blab about being held in PRISON since he seems to say whatever is on his mind- according to Rui affinity lines). The message being “If you fuck up, you’re next”.
Anyways- I could blab more but I have just been turning this over in my mind and I saw you mention somewhere in one of your blogs about Obscuary possibly having general students. But early in the game, they say that the new house (alluding to Obscuary) has no general populace and isn’t even an option for the ceremony and that they’re specially selected to be put there. (If I’m recalling correctly).
Brainrot is always welcome here anon -u- i may just be slow at responding to it sometimes lol.
But yeah I did forget that Obscuary was stated to not have general students--I tend to forget things that're earlier in the game because the hyperfocus wasn't as strong when the game first launched hhhaaaa but thank you for the correction!!! 💞
To clarify Obscuary wasn't newly being added but rather it's the newest house of all of the current ones(implying Dionysia, Ultio, or Clamentia may have been newer.)
We don't know how long it's existed so it could be brand new, but we only know that it's existed the least amount of time of the currently active ones. That doesn't necessarily mean that they had to be in another house before this. Some of Darkwick's rules have existed for like 100 years apparently, according to one of Ritsu's lines, so for all we know the house is 10 years old and they just haven't added more that are currently active since Obscuary. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
However we do know Rui was likely in another house(or school?) before this because he got his reaper curse on a mission.
I assume he was in one of the defunct houses before this, personally--maybe Dionysia since he's a bartender? Or Clementia since he's a pretty peaceful and kind person? Clementia would also make sense since they did exorcisms and presumably worked with spirits. . .so if he was on a mission that ended up involving a spirit and a reaper didn't take kindly to his involvement. . .curse? We don't know exactly how one gets a reaper curse--it could not involve a reaper at all.
As for Ed. . . . . .well all of this hinges on the simple question of how long has Ed been a vampire. Because Haku mentions in one of his chats that he's not trying to end up a super senior(i.e. he wants to graduate and be a 4th year) so he goes on missions instead of going to classes instead of being held back. And we know Ed is a lazy fuck lol so it's entirely possible that Ed's been here for ages and just never went on enough missions or to class enough to graduate!
Of course if he's been a vampire less years than he's been in Darkwick then he likely was in another house. . .we know he likes his tablet and he's lazy and irresponsible, so he's likely captain out of seniority rather than skillset, but we don't really have any clues as to what house he would have been in beforehand. . .which house would be most likely to encounter a vampire? Frostheim? Mortkranken?
It's also possible that he was a vampire when he got here and was placed in Obscuary immediately after being brought in, no weighing of souls or anything.
BUT AAA I HOPE YOU'RE RIGHT ANON I HOPE THEY TOUCH ON THESE IN THE OBSCUARY CHAPTER i mean they have to right???? Or maybe it'll be in their character stories(so after the Obscuary chapter lol)--either way I hope it's addressed a little bit. . .even just a quick "this is how i ended up this way" thing--maybe the mission reminds Rui of the one he got cursed on and he doesn't want you to go. We know Lyca was born part werewolf, so I'd absolutely believe Ed was a vampire all along and just rolled up that way.
I figure they're gonna place Lyca in Obscuary both as a message(assuming he isn't somehow prevented from talking about being imprisoned, or maybe once he's out he just doesn't care much about that he was locked up a moment ago because he's more concerned about exploring his new surroundings) and because they just Do Not Trust Him even though he's clearly just a large dog at worst.
(thank you for sharing your brainrot with me! There's so much to think about haha)
#rui mizuki#edward hart#lyca colt#obscuary#tokyo debunker#danie yells at tokyo debunker#danie yells answers#danie yells with anons#now i have another thought that i started on this post but i'm gonna make anofher to avoid it being too long lol

i lied, i can’t wait until the official release, so have an absolutely massive text dump about what i think about chapter 267 and what i think could happen from here considering the newest developments:
okay i’ve decided… i like the fact that nobara is back, and i do think that it doesn’t contradict anything that has been previously established (her survival was very deliberately left as a possibility in a decently believable way)
the way she went down (and what Nitta said about her status) was open ended enough, no complaints there (especially comparing her “departure” (to quote gege) to Nanami’s and Mahito’s line wondering if he could drop her with one hit since he couldn’t do that with Nanami if he wasn’t already on the verge of death, it’s more than a bit of a Checkov’s gun, which is why so many people were already theorizing that she would return the way she did)
i also think that Megumi and Yuji’s conversation about her being as ambiguous as it was is not outside of the realm of realism, since it was only a couple days after she went down (so around 2 months earlier than the point when she woke up) so if her status at that moment was “comatose on life support and very unlikely to wake up”, so almost the same status Yuji last saw her in (plus considering the time Tsumiki spent in a coma makes it more likely for Megumi to sort of struggle to state the fact out loud)
however…
while I understand that gege might have deliberately avoided mentioning her status so that she would surprise us the way she did Sukuna, i think that it would feel less like a deus ex machina if they had mentioned her at least one more time, either by having Yuji (or anyone) visit her sickbed during the month’s preparation for the showdown, or by having Gojo allude to SOMETHING at any point where Yuji wasn’t present (be it at the airport, while talking to Ijichi before the fight, the same way that Yuta said that he would put Inumaki to work set up the recorder scene)
it didn’t have to be anything that would necessarily confirm her status or a direct mention of her, it could have been an unlabeled hospital bed at some point or something equally vague
i just personally would have liked having another connecting dot for her return around the time when seeds for similar surprising events were planted to make it fit a tad better
anyway, all that said and done, now to the return itself: Loved it, the whole chapter was very well executed and the build up in the chapter itself was very good
it does feel a little out of character for the tone of the series itself (gege has a habit of not letting the good guys win anything without it feeling bittersweet or pulling the rug right from under them (and us) at the last second (the fight against the death paintings with Yuji’s grief after, Mahito being absorbed, Kenjaku starting the culling games just as Yuki’s appearance gave people hope, the whole Tsumiki twist just when we thought they were getting out, the way Gojo died just when they thought he won etc)
because of that i am SO SCARED RIGHT NOW (which i’m sure he did on purpose)… everything looks like we are lined up for 3 to live (if gojo stays dead, which i hope he does, as much as i love him, the guy’s last words are that he is happy he went out the way he did and that he hopes his afterlife vision is real, LET HIM REST, he wouldn’t want to survive in exchange for Yuji or Megumi’s death (also having another character come back from the “dead”, especially one that is properly established to be dead, at this point feels like it would cheapen the concept of death in the series))
now, if this is how it ends, and this chapter was officially announced as the climax of the battle in advance so that’s likely, especially with the condition sukuna was in at the end, you won’t catch me complaining (i’m not THAT kind of shonen fan, griping over on twt about how it’s bad writing if we get a happy ending, these kids have been through ENOUGH, let them have time to grow older together, they never even managed to get to first name basis)
however: we do have another 4 chapters left…
and that leaves us with the option that if gege decides to be evil (like he often is) we could dramatically go from having unexpectedly reached the final “3 live 1 dies “ configuration, giving us a sense of security, to a fear of reaching the dreaded “only one survivor” option
Now, I previously made a different too long post about why either of the boys being the lone survivor would both be equally good story telling for a bittersweet ending to this story (see here)
now, i’m going to exclude the option of Nobara dying because her coming back just to be killed a chapter or two later would be stupid (plus the only way i can see that happening is if Uraume suddenly shows up at the dam after having killed Hakari and taken a train which… yeah… ), so that would automatically make her the lone survivor (again, already talked about the reasons why either of they boys dying works, though i will say that her return would strengthen Megumi’s will to live)
Nobara is more independent as a character than either of the boys, as far as her motivations go. She is the one character (out of the three of them) who viewed being a sorcerer as a job (think about her asking Momo is her life is just a job during their fight), more than having it directly tied into her purpose in life, which is something a lot of the adult survivors have in common. She has people outside of jujutsu society that she would like to see again (to be blunt, she has other friends and family, unlike the other two, plus she didn’t go through the additional trauma that made the other two cling to each other even more)
while she would definitely grieve them immensely, she has the resilience to grow around that grief, if both Megumi and Yuji should somehow die with Sukuna.
Again, i don’t think this is the most likely outcome, especially considering that gege said that he hopes the ending will make people happy which dead main characters don’t tend to do, but i do think that this is definitely an option i can’t dismiss out of hand until Sukuna is officially dead
edit: another point in favour of the happy ending is of course, the whole "jjk is about breaking the cycle" theory, which is reinforced by the "cycling curse" line on the second to last page of this chapter

Coming of Age Storytelling in TXT's Quarter Life (aka let's talk about korean grammar!!)
Quarter Life is one of my favorite tracks off minisode 3, not just for its coming of age theme but also the raw, unfiltered way their voices carry the message.
A closer look at the Korean lyrics led me to understanding the song anew so I wanted to share that with you guys.
What struck me most was the narrative shift in the song. Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Kai all transition from a contemplative, somewhat hopeless state of mind at the beginning of the song to an empowered and motivated mentality during the second half.
Admittedly, you don't need to pick apart the nuance of the conjugation patterns they're using to grasp this - listening to the song alone will give you a sense of it. But I think knowing the grammar a bit more just makes you feel it more deeply and helps the song feel that much more alive and inspiring. At the same time, I'll weave together my observations on the (wonderful!) storytelling/narrative flow. Let's go!
Beomgyu starts the song with:
A quarter life / 누군가가 나의 나이를 부르는 말
A quarter life / This is how someone calls my age
Note how this opening line establishes a distance from the protagonist: we're not centering on what he thinks at first, but rather how other people perceive him. Perception vs sense of self is a big coming of age theme. In the following lines, he alludes to having walked through a long long (긴긴) tunnel, and in explaining it to us, we get a sense for how the world has shaped him (or more specifically, worn him down). He may be young, but he is so so tired.
Kai reiterates this sentiment by saying:
좋을 때래 아름다운 청춘은 지금뿐이래
(People say) these are the good times, that the beauty of youth is only now
followed by him adding: I ain't happy at all
Once again, the focus is on perception. Their disconnect between how other people think they should feel versus how they actually feel builds a sense of lack and sadness.
The first narrative shift happens right after this, when Taehyun poses a pondering question:
혹시 어두운 이 턴널에도 끝은 있을까
(I wonder if) this dark tunnel even has en end?
-을까 verb endings paired with 혹시 (perhaps/maybe) add a contemplative tone to the question, thus indicating our first transition from Beomgyu and Kai's solemn defeat about youth being exhausting to wondering, maybe there's a way out of this?
Then we dive into the pre-chorus, which gets even more reflective:
어디로 가야 하는 건데
Where do I have to go/should I go?
-ㄴ데 endings are frequent in both spoken and written Korean and depending on context have several meanings. Here it leaves the listener with the knowledge that something has been left unsaid. I often think of it as ellipses that have a slow fade effect. In terms of the song, this line here emphasizes the pondering moment of taehyun earlier, kind of like "where do I have to go....?"
Kai mentions he's lonely, just walking in circles, it's a full quarter life crisis
The chorus hits with its instrumental - a release of all their frustrations and confusion for the tumultuous feelings.
The second half of the song gets interesting. It's here that each line slowly gets more optimistic and empowered. Taehyun says he refuses to say that he fucked up his life. This one thought keeps him grounded and makes him want to keep trying.
Kai's lead into the second pre-chorus is almost exactly the same as the first (on first listen I didn't hear a difference) but he actually changed one of the verb endings: instead of saying 건데 again (that ...? feeling grammar point) he uses an -는 지 ending:
어디로 가야 하는 건지
Where do I have to go/should I go?
Note that the translation is exactly the same as the pre-chorus earlier, but there's a slightly different feeling attached. The -는 지 conjugation poses a "whether this or that" setup, once again showcasing uncertainty, but this time instead of pondering and ruminating, it's acknowledging the presence of options. He's getting closer to stepping into a decision - a decision he gets to make now, not something dictated by the perception of others.
Taehyun adds:
Don't look back / 돌아갈 순 없지
Don't look back / You can't go back
Many of you may already know -ㄹ 수 없다 conjugation as "cannot do something". Notice how the center is 순 instead of 수. 순 is used as an emphasizing marker, and the conjugation of -지 adds a feeling of someone going "right?" or "of course." There's a slight sense of urgency to it all. Knowing this, I hope you can feel the weight of Taehyun's lines here: he's urging himself to embrace what he has in the moment because he can't go back and he knows it and doesn't want this moment to escape him.
Also noteworthy is the lack of 요 endings to indicate higher formality. All of the song is in banmal, which suggests they're actually talking to themselves/in their own head. Very touching :')
The song ends on a determined high: Beomgyu and Kai affirm they are going to keep wandering through this quarter life crisis. I love the choice to finish the song with their raw vocals and the high of the instruments long gone. It centers us so much on their determination. Absolutely beautiful song and I hope I could give you some insight into the grammar and the feelings it captured.
#idk if i managed to capture this as well as my other posts but i hope this could let you feel the song more fully#txt analysis#media analysis#tomorrow x together#language study#korean#txt minisode 3

⊹ ꙳ ✦ ⁺ ‧ ⨯. ⁺ ✦ ⊹
Bella is eager to share the most recent development in her life with her life long friend, Riley. They arrived to school earlier than normal, sat at their regular hangout spot. Riley is no where to be seen, Bella nervously taps her leg. Pulling out their phone to shoot their friend a text.
Bella: where are you
“I’m right here.” Riley laughs, startling Bella in the process.
“What’s so important?” Riley asks sitting down next you Bella.
“Alright uh, let me tell you the story.” Bella begins.
“You know the party I went to last night?”
“The one you swore you wouldn’t be caught dead at, that one?” Riley ask, with a roll of her eyes.
“Yeah that one.” Bella smiles a cheesy grin.
“I may have had a moment with a girl, a really cute girl.”
—
The Party
“Live a little, drink! Let loose!” Bella’s closest male friend Justin demands, already a little tipsy. Passing a drink to Bella, she takes it and pretends to take a sip.
“Finally!” He belches before leaving Bella alone is the sea of people. She lets out an annoyed sigh before taking a seat at an empty couch. Pulling out their phone, full of regret for even agreeing to show up. It never failed when she tagged along on one of Justin’s many escapades, they always got left alone as Justin went off to socialize. Bella continued to show up for Justin in the hopes to get a glimpse of you.
The loud sound of laughter causes Bella to look up from their phone. There you are, throwing Justin into a hug. While still in Justin’s embrace, you look over to Bella’s way. Smiling and sending a small wave their way, Bella smiles before going back to their phone. Too afraid to continue the eye contact.
Bella cursed them self for being so damn shy. She admired you because you were a daredevil. They admired you for a whole list of reasons. In Bella’s eyes your were gorgeous. Always dressed so well and makeup so extra, she loved everything about you.
Tonight no different, you were wearing a pink dress that hugged your curves perfectly. The dress has a cut out right under your breast, perfectly exposing the skin there. Pink colorful eyeshadow on you eyelids, your makeup always matched your fit. Tonight little sparkly butterfly clips placed strategically in your hair. Bella loved seeing what you came up with every day. Too frightened by the tiny crush that had been inside them for so long, to compliment you.
To Bella’s surprise, you walked over to where they sat. Plopping down right next to them. Resting your tired head on their shoulder. You weren’t that tired until you smoked, the green nearly knocking you out.
“Surprised to see you here.” You say, looking up at Bella who’s trying their best to act natural.
“Uh… yeah Justin basically begged me.” They say, attention on their phone. Internally they’re freaking the fuck out.
“Why aren’t we closer?” You ask, Bella looks down at you taken a back by your question.
“I mean like I’m friends with Justin. Your Justin’s friend. That basically makes us friends, right?” Your high ass ask.
“I guess so.” Bella responds, timidly.
“Bella. Ya know, I really like hanging out with you.” You speak just loud enough for Bella to hear. Saying everything but what you actually want to say.
“Aww I like hanging out with you too.” Bella says, partially confused. You guys never really hung out before. Yeah you were always around when Justin was around but that was about the extent of your relationship. Your high ass laughs out loud, falling into Bella again.
“I think I really wanna kiss ya,” you say even quieter than before. Finally mustering up the courage to say what’s been heavy on your mind. Biting your lip in anticipation for their response.
“Wait, really?” Bella asks, eyes wide with excitement.
“Yeah, but I don’t want to scare you.” You sigh, getting ready to leave Bella sat alone one the couch.
“Na, it’s cool.” She responds bringing a smile to your face. You stand up, intertwining your fingers with there fingers. You motion for them to stand up, Bella does just that. She’d do anything you’d ask of her. You lead Bella to the nearest bathroom, thankfully it’s empty. You guide Bella in, locking the door behind yourself. No one daring enough to turn the lights on. The only light is coming in through the small window. The moonlight illuminates Bella’s features beautifully.
“Can I?” You ask, Bella nods to afraid to speak and possibly ruin the moment. You move closer, pushing Bella into the wall. You kiss Bella affectionately which quickly turns more frantic when they begin kissing you back. Your hands find their way to Bella’s who doesn’t know what to do with their own. Leading their hands to your chest, letting them explore your body.
“Are you sure?” Bella asks, looking up at you. You were a few inches taller then Bella. The sight of them looking up at you like that, driving you absolutely insane.
“This is kinda crazy.” They say, actively trying to catch their breath. Hands still fumbling with your dress, finding their way to skin exposed by the cutout on your dress.
“I just really wanna… I don’t want to take it slow.” You respond, staring straight into Bella’s dark orbs. Attempting to read their face to find a reaction.
“If you want to stop I’ll stop. I don’t want to stop.” Bella smiles knowing with a face like yours so close to theirs, they can’t say no. They don’t want to say no.
“I want to.” Bella says, before smashing her lips into yours. Kissing you more deep this time, hands finally reaching under the thin fabric of your dress to caress your sensitive peaks.
—
“There’s so way you hooked up with her.” Riley laughs, not believing Bella in the slightest.
“She’s not even gay.”
“Explain this then.” Bella lowers the collar of their shirt exposing the hickey you left on their skin.
“That could be anything.” Riley half laughs still not believing.
“Where did you go last night? I tried calling you snd texting you like a million times.” Justin asks, sitting next to Bella. Bella shoots a look at Riley that says don’t say anything. But Riley says everything, all the time. Bella shouldn’t expect any less at this point.
“Apparently she was too busy hooking up with Y/N. Even got a love bite to prove it.” She teases.
“Makes sense.” Justin says, confusing them.
“You believe them, really?”
“Yeah. I may have told Y/N some things a while back.” Justin explains.
“Things?” Bella asks concerned.
“Yeah she told me she thought she was a lesbian. So I was like omg I know a lesbian and maybe have unintentionally outed you to her.” He further explains.
“Since then she’s always asking about you. Begging me to bring you everywhere with me. I thought maybe she liked you, I was right!” Justin says proud of himself.
“You’re welcome.” He says before leaving Riley and Bella alone. Bella trying desperately to understand all the information thrown at them. Today was fucked, there was no way Bella was gonna be a functioning student today. You had stolen Bella’s phone last night and texted you self so you could have their number. Your phone number was burning a hole in their pocket, desperately wanting to message you. Deciding in the end, it’s too risky.
At lunch they sat alone, waiting for Riley to arrive any second. Only for you to be the one to occupy the space next to them.
“Hi,” you smile.
“Hi,” Bella speaks softly.
“About last night…” Bella feels like she knows exactly where this going, she’s not ready for the heartbreak.
“If you regret-“
“I don’t regret what happened. Can I finish?” You ask to which Bella nods yes.
“I like you like a lot a lot and I don’t really know what to do with that information. So I was thinking maybe we could be more than friends?” You further explain, talking to Bella but not daring to look at their face. You watch Bella’s hands instead, as they fidget with the rings on their fingers. Trying your best not think about where those hands were last night, getting flustered at the memory.
“Are you asking-“
“Yes I am, okay?” You interrupt.
“Yeah I think I can make that work.” They tease causing you to roll your eyes. You playfully shove Bella before placing a sweet kiss on their lips.
“So she wasn’t lying, wow.” Riley speaks interrupting your moment with Bella. Bella only flips Riley off before falling into your embrace, kissing you again.

the librarians "and the christmas thief" (s4e3) watch through:
patron saint of thieves (ie st nick... ie santa), leverage deja vu!
this has some kath & kim vibes - not sure if that’s intentional from the US writers but i hope it is. you might know kath & kim from this meme:
"did you just say - mum?" maybe they’re already working out what he means, but surely for like one second cassandra was thinking "what did you just call me?!?"
okay woah too many hilarious things just happened at once -
this exchange (plus them all running around the table lmaooo):
ezekiel: "they're my family, i'll sort it out, please!" cassandra: "i thought WE were your family!" ezekiel: "you’re a different sort of family. i like you guys!"
^ but re: the above, i love the fact cassandra's offended that he has another family... you know, the family he grew up with. which does make sense from her pov because both cassie & jacob very much have difficult relationships with their own relatives & the library is like their "main" family. she seems to have assumed it was the same way for ezekiel (after all, he's clearly not talked much about his mum & sisters). so she feels confused & a little betrayed even though all he's done is like. have a mother. lol. very much not his fault but i get why she's a bit upset
also love cassandra's incredibly convincing lie to eve, "i found it. the bottle opener. was in the bottle opener drawer. with the other bottle openers".
baird saying "bye, kids" LMAOOO.
ezekiel kissing cassandra on the lips (to which she looks grossed out lol) & about to do the same to jacob before getting pushed away
-AND lastly, ezekiel saying his mum lives just outside sydney & cassandra goes "that explains the accent". did you think he was just talking like that for fun
CASSIES HAIR
jacob knowing about thankstaking day for some reason??
cassandra giving ezekiel's mum a disturbed stare while she discusses stealing christmas presents, but also introducing herself politely & hugging her lol.
plot of the grinch
thank god for cassie. the one who noticed the globe was missing, now the one noticing the globe is on fire
thief worldbuilding. i feel like a lot of this is like the stuff they would've joked about behind the scenes in leverage ("crime world") but couldn't really add to a show that is mostly grounded in real life stuff. also i remember a society of thieves or something being mentioned much earlier on in this show, when representatives from the library and dragons and the fae etc all met up that one time. for some reason thieves are included in magical society lol.
wait if they frame that guy for stealing here, won't he get liquidated?? hope that blew over
its cool that we've seen the same show runners pick two very different sets of laser-avoidance styles for their thief characters lol. parker (leverage) doing the gymnastics type vs ezekiel basically dancing. both chosen to fit the characters im assuming (or in parkers case, to fit what she would have been trained by archie to do - a very classic thief style, according to tv at least lol).
LOL "ezekiel jones? THE ezekiel jones?" exactly like "parker? THE parker?"
well thats why thieves are in magical society ig! santas brother is canonically running the bank of thieves. okay
ezekiel was literally robin hood. and i like that he knows he's lucky and supports people who just didn't have that luck. also him talking about stealing as an art (which he's alluded to before), he really does simply have a passion.
"it has been my experience that behind every egotistical blowhard, there is a petulant, scared little boy"
ezekiel ultimately saying that his mum didnt just teach him greed but also very much generosity & kindness <3 idk family is complicated, people are complicated.
LMAO my very first thought was "wasn't it facing the other way?"

I’m sick and tired of hearing “buddie is never going to happen” because buck is with tmmy. Like I’m sorry. It pisses me off so much because for those who have watch since s1, we have wanted queer buck for SO LONG and we always were told “you guys are delusional” or “it’s never gonna happen” by the GP AND the SR”. IN IN INTERVIEWS canonically, at the time, THEY ALL talked about buck as STRAIGHT. 9-1-1 s1 came out in 2018 and here we are in 2024. It took them 6 years to make bi buck. As a buddie and someone who viewed these characters as queer coded, i always knew on FOX, it wasn’t going to happen. But now on ABC they made bi buck in ONE EPISODE. ONE!! Of course you are going to see posts about BuckTommy because people they are a couple who touch and kiss. We are to believe in a heteronormative society, that’s what shows you aS bi/queer/gay/etc. what we do know, in the show, the buck and Eddie/Christopher dynamic is the most different from everyone else in the show. Buck and Eddie both have been queer coded from the beginning of the show and NOW we are being policed as to what we are allowed to think? If anything, those same individuals who are policing your thoughts about gay/queer Eddie, they better have been shocked/angry/confused about bi buck if they “NEVER” viewed buck as a queer coded character. They scream “endgame” but yet has less screen time than Natalia. Ali had less but even her character we knew them AS A COUPLE. how are you screaming “endgame” but never did with Ali, Taylor, or Natalia or when buck said “i think she sees me”. Did they forget the way Oliver spoke about Natalia and bucks relationship after the finale? That’s what gets me??? While everyone (myself included) was happy we got bi buck and (yes even Tommy), but that was BEFORE i remembered who he was as a character. You need to ask, Are people excited because Buck is bi and dating/kissing tommy or simply because he’s a bisexual character who happens to be DATING A MAN. I’ve seen more of those people who ship BuckTommy, defend Tommy previous actions but then blame buck for his and don’t LOOK INTO the relationship for what it is. Becuase if they did, if Tommy was a FEMALE LI, her character would be getting ripped to shreds. Not dressing up. The disgusting comments. Not caring for buck. I can go on lol.
but if he was simply the “fun uncle” why did they make buck be the one to tell Christopher what happened to his dad? Why make Chris call buck when his dad was breaking down. Why did Chris leave to buck on the chances of his dad dating again. Why does the show continue to have buck be involved in HUGE moments in Chris’s life. Why involve buck in 7x10. Why CONTINUE to have him be there with the Diaz family? When Christopher left. Why? Why? Why? Why have the show allude to “good cop bad cop” and BOTH answering no. Why, “he takes Christopher there all the time” (the zoo). Why does buck essentially have be there, for Chris, after his dad is in the hospital ? Carla was already there and yet he’s there? Eddie has the breakdown? Buck takes him to school. Buck helping Chris with his school projects/homework? Buck Diaz having multiple dinners together? That’s the fun uncle? Where is all this with bucks own niece? Last but not least, they LOVE to use “Buck is a scapegoat” in 7x10 but Eddie himself says to Buck “I-I don't need you to explain it to him, I just...I need you to check in on him. I'm worried. He won't come out”. There he is never one asking anything of buck but to simply see how Chris is doing after everything. NEVER does he try to sway Chris’s opinions or trick him or anything of the sort. It reminds me of the talk Chris and buck had in earlier seasons of where Chris ran to buck. And buck and Chris simply had a heartfelt talk. Where is dynamic between chimney and Denny? They had 1 SCENE throughout the whole 7 seasons. Chim and hen have been friends LONGER. Where there the dinners scenes. Where are the school projects?
This season unfournately had 10 episodes. They did bi buck in 1 episode. BuckTommy had 3 dates (failed pizza date), second coffee date (where Buck gets Tommy order wrong and invites him to the wedding literally days after coming out?(SPEEDING RUNNING THE RELATIONSHIP) and then the dinner scene. 2 kisses. That’s it. Nothing special in comparison to his previous relationships. I’m sorry. This season in terms of Eddie, he also SPED RUN (or attempted) to with M. He moved her in quicker than when he was dating Ana. And yet, when he saw all her boxes, when does he do? Asks her to move out”. But why? It shows he’s more interested in her than Ana right? What gets me, is, in both relationship, specially Ana, they were lovely. I liked them together. What stopped them from being married. If Eddie ONLY wants a mother role for Christopher, there was his oppporotuinity. But just like Shannon told Eddie “i don’t need a provider, i need a husband”. If Eddie and Ana, were to get married, he would need to be IN LOVE WITH HER. Not only become a “step mom” to Chris. Eddie admitting he has catholic guilt. This season, AGAIN, was a continuation of Eddie doing for Christopher. He wants Christopher to have a “mother role”. Going into s8, this will be the first time, he has no girlfriend and NO CHRISTOPER. When was the last time this? Oh i didn’t know? Maybe before HE MET SHANNON!! Eddie had to grow up at the age of 10. He had to be “the man of the house”. He wasn’t allowed to be like his friends. Why he allowed to cry, was he allowed to express any emotions? This was at the age of 10. I can see this season Eddie going back to his childhood and having the opportunity to understand who is he WITHOUT his son and a partner.
I desperately hope we get an Eddie Begins Again episode this season… like you said. It would do him a lot of good to see what went wrong before he knew Shannon and had Chris. It would also make for some amazing Buddie moments interspersed with young Eddie moments.

AITA for not telling my cousin i know he’s gay?
at the beginning of summer, my parents and i (20NB) visited my dad’s side of the family in the south. we stayed with an aunt and uncle, but the only person who really matters here is their son/my cousin (17M). i’d say he and i aren’t necessarily close. we get along just fine when we visit, but never really talk outside of that. i still care a lot for him, but we just don’t communicate much.
earlier this year, i heard from my dad that he got a boyfriend. i thought to send him my congrats, being the only other openly queer member of the family, but then i questioned why my dad even knew that. his side of the family is deeply conservative, and i knew for a fact that this kid’s dad had genuinely cried when trump lost the elections. it didn’t feel right for that knowledge to be so public, especially considering he and my dad aren’t that close, either. i asked him if my cousin had told him himself, and he said no. i asked him if my cousin had given permission to disclose that. he didn’t know how to respond to that. i’d previously been outed against my will to this side of the family, and it became obvious that that’s what happened to him, as well. i asked if his parents knew, and my dad said no. despite telling everyone and their dog about it, everyone was keeping it from them, likely out of fear for his safety. i was glad for that, at the least.
anyways. our visit went fine, in the grand scheme of things. what’s hanging on my mind is when i pulled my cousin aside one day to ask the family’s opinion on me, and if they ever talked about me behind my back. they all act cordially enough around me, using my proper name, pronouns, etc, but that’s to be expected. not only do they all care a lot for appearances, but when i first visited after coming out at 14, i had a horrible panic attack due to some of them constantly misgendering me. my dad gave them a stern talking to, and he’s the type of guy you don’t want to make angry, so thankfully it never happened again. i couldn’t ask this to my parents, because they tend to dance around the subject to protect me, or outright lie to me (i don’t hold it against them, as i said, they think it’s to protect me), but i knew he would tell the truth. i should mention that he hadn’t disclosed to me anything about his boyfriend or sexuality at this point, and i obviously wasn’t going to push.
he told me that yes, they did. i won’t go into the details, but it’s what i largely expected. after he finished explaining, he added “they talk a lot about me, too” or something along those lines. it was obvious what he was alluding to, but only because i already knew. had my dad not told me, i know that comment would’ve gone right over my head. so i played dumb. i laughed and asked what they could possibly say about him, and he was quick to stutter out something about how they gossip about everyone. the conversation stopped shortly after, but i can’t stop thinking about it.
the reason i lied and played dumb is that i wanted to give him some autonomy over his coming out. it was obviously ripped away from him by everyone else, and i know how shitty that feels. i wanted him to have a choice, for once. the thing is, i know i’m hypocritical for doing so. were i in his shoes, i’d want to know if i was forcibly outed, and by who. the reason that conversation even started was because i wanted someone to tell me the truth, and i ended up lying myself in the end. i don’t know. should i have told him? i wanted to give him the choice i never had, but i don’t know if that was selfish of me or not to project my feelings onto him like that. AITA for not telling him i knew?
What are these acronyms?

for someone wanting to get into Natsumes book of friends, would you recommend the show or the manga/ what are the pros or cons of each?
(I'm gonna tag this for my own archival but please don't argue with me about this it's just my opinion and I don't feel like it)
I haven't really read the full manga so I might not be the exact best person to ask on that! However, my introduction was the anime and I think it's a great intro.
For the manga...I don't want to anger anyone but I gotta be honest here...the art doesn't really do it for me a lot of the time especially compared to the anime. It's a very loose, sketchy style, and sometimes it an be a little hard to tell characters apart or they look just a little less cohesive in the anime (Hinoe is an example, she's got such a flashy vibe in the anime but looks a little weird in the manga imo, at least in the early chapters).
There's not a lot of backgrounds, which is a kind of common shoujo style and works for a lot of shoujo, but a big charm point in the anime is the pastoral vibes, the feeling of this vast wilderness Natsume is exploring and the sleepy small town vibes, you really feel whatever season it is...the anime's art is just generally more detailed and expansive.
The anime also has the luxury of arranging things to have more narrative cohesion. The story is fairly episodic, so though it does have character development and ongoing plotlines, the chapters can be moved around easily.
It's pretty clear in the manga Midorikawa is making it up as she goes along (she directly says this) so chapters that involving a character or theme can be father apart in the manga, while the anime generally tries to arrange things so it fits a certain theme or arc, so we get a little focus on each reoccurring character at least once per season, the first season especially. I think a big example of this was I was really surprised it took so long to introduce Natsume's foster dad in the manga (he shows up in ep 6 of the anime and chapter 19 in the manga) and in the mangaka's notes she says she was just maybe going to allude to him like Columbo's wife (lol) at first and didn't have a place to fit him in until this chapter. He's a pretty important presence in Natsume's life, so it made sense the anime introduces him a bit earlier.
The anime also adds a lot of original content, and integrates it so well I can't really tell it apart most of the time! I was surprised most of seaon 2 episode 5 was anime original because it lines up so well with the rest and is an episode I really love.
And there were some mild characterization changes I like, such as with Hinoe. I like that the anime also apparently integrates Natsume's gal pals into the friend group much more. According to a post I saw trawling through Taki's tag, she doesn't actually hang out with the broader friend group in the manga? Like we don't really see her with Nishimura and Kitamoto (natsume's "average guy" friends), just as part of a trio, whereas in the anime there's lots of time she's just included in the full group. And there was an entire backstory focus episode on a (older and morally ambigious!!!) female character that was anime original too, so that's nice.
There's also the soundtrack which is SUCH an all time great, it's so soothing and chill.
ON THE OTHER HAND, the manga is still great, and there are a lot of little moments I'm noticing that the anime misses that are pretty cool. Bits of backstory, extra characterization flourishes, sad and sweet moments, sometimes a plot point makes a lot more sense, and so on.
There's also the occasional "something I didn't quite like in the anime isn't in the manga" moment, but nothing major.
So I think reading the manga is a great experience, but you should probably check out the anime first, I think it's a better entry point, and after that you can read the manga.
#ask nev#I'm also noticing some inconsistencies I don't know whether the manga keeps or drops#like there's a couple chapters in the manga early on where flashbacks say that he straight up got in fights with other kids#who were mocking him? Like imply he might have thrown the first punch (he's seven granted) which doesn't seem to match up with his#people pleasing and desire not to make trouble for whoever's watching him. i dunno if the manga drops it or it's just an element that's#part of the character in the manga. it was just surprising#natsume's book of friends

This is by no means hate to this individual, but I’m sick and tired of hearing “buddie is never going to happen” because buck is with tmmy.
For example, ppl view buck as the “fun uncle” to Chris BUT
but if he was simply the “fun uncle” why did they make buck be the one to tell Christopher what happened to his dad? For reference i added the interviews Oliver talked about buck and Natalia after s6 finale. One would say, screams endgame right? “Things are aligning for them”

Your blorbos, tell me about them
Ok so here's something that's been eating at my brain that maybe you guys can actually help me out with. It's been causing me to rethink some things about my Stanley Parable AU.
So, I've been questioning whether or not the Narrator is aware of 432's existence. To be more specific, I have been debating whether or not he knows the specifics of 432's story in the office and their experimentation.
TSPUD spoilers below!!
-
It's obvious that he doesn't know about the Timekeeper/432 becoming the fabric of the universe.
After the epilogue, when you visit the broken achievement that's been fixed by 432/the Timekeeper, Narrator freaks out, possibly bc he doesn't like the idea of being watched by some other force that he doesn't know about and is potentially stronger than he is.
And there's the theory about TK being the one who makes the door disappear during the Skip Button ending to be able to talk to Stanley alone. During the ending, Narrator has no idea what happened to the door nor how to create one. Which is pretty odd considering that we see him change the scenery before our very eyes. So maybe, something is keeping both Stanley and him inside.
Interestingly enough, another instance of Narrator being trapped in a room and separated from Stanley or the Player are the Real Person/Not Stanley ending and the Escape Pod ending. During both endings, there are some easter eggs alluding to 432 (You can also see 432's desk repeatedly while climbing the stairs to the escape pod. And the boxes of pencil sharpeners mailed to 432 in the docking bay disappear after you watch the instructional video in the Real Person ending.)
However, here's the thing.
Employee 432 is listed in the instruction manual for the IndieBox version of the Stanley Parable as a character but has no information. The Instruction Manual is written by the Narrator, right? So, he might not know that 432 became the Timekeeper but does he know about 432 as a character within The Story? Did he omit their information on purpose? Or did they insert themselves in the manual?
(Part of me doesn't think the latter is true bc according to Davey Wreden in a livestream, the team didn't intend for 432 and the Settings Person to be the same until way later into development. And the IndieBox version of TSP came out years before TSPUD was in development. And by that logic, maybe the idea that 432 is behind some of the original endings might not be onto anything either. Not sure.)
Idk. After doing some character writing for 432 myself, it definitely seems like they're a prime candidate to go through the story that Stanley is going through. Being experimented on, finding out that they're part of a sinister plot and maybe fighting to take it down.
I already planned to explore this in my AU but like what if, legit, 432 was Narrator's rough draft of Stanley? But he couldn't stand that they actually make meaningful choices for themselves? What if, unlike Stanley, they can speak? And the voice receiver in the Real Person ending is a remnant of that earlier draft of The Story?
This paper in particular says that 432 constantly questions authority or being told to do the most basic tasks. So maybe this caused them to have brushes against the Narrator?
Another recurring theme in this game that I've noticed is that the things that the Narrator creates often end up turning against him or just displease him. Specifically, the Adventure Line™ and the Skip Button come to mind. (It's also interesting to note how the Adventure Line™ leads the player/Stanley through the Employee 432 peer review hall sometimes during the Confusion ending, another ending where the Narrator loses control over the situation but not necessarily entirely bc of Stanley or the Player.) Maybe this is the case with 432 as well? Maybe, like with Stanley, the Narrator created 432 because he was lonely but they, with the will of their own, walked out on him? So he created a more obedient character that wouldn't leave him alone?
(However again, the reference to the original Half Life Mod in the Ultra Deluxe Games (Firewatch/Rocket League) Ending confuses me cuz the door is labeled 427 and everything GAHHH-)
Anyway, I just rambled for a long while but I sincerely want to hear what you guys think about this.
Maybe I'm just going in too deep with this and maybe the endings aren't connected at all and it's just a silly little game with different silly little endings. Maybe the angle I'm seeing everything at is skewed. I just wanna get some other perspectives on this.
In any case, it doesn't really change too much of my AU, maybe, but it does decide whether or not I want a scene in which 432 calls out the Narrator for writing them a tragic backstory for the sake of "character development".

there are a lot of things I really love about Blaine's return-scene from episode two but also. one thing that I feel goes under-appreciated (or almost lost) and I guess I need to explain a little what I mean: I saw a lot of articles about how this first scene is supposed to leave us wondering whether Blaine has really changed and might be a good guy now, but that's never really how it read to me. And maybe I'm biased bc I know how things went but really, what he does is just very obvious text-book manipulation tactics.
So at first, Blaine needs to explain away why Liv saw him try to crack open the skull of some random person:
then we get the obligatory Blaine pity party, please feel sorry for me, etc etc
Sure, he has a bit of a slip up when he got weird and asked Liv whether 'raging out is at all interesting' to her but he then does this whole relating over food thing.
Things go downhill once he realises that Liv remembers him from the boat party and how he treated her there. This is a big problem for him if he wants to worm his way into her trust and become best zombie buddies and get access to the free brains at the morgue - something he already alluded to be interesting in earlier:
before he told her his sad story about how he has to grave-rob
Once he realises that Liv remembers him, he makes am attempt to girlboss gaslight his way out:
AND THEN the very MOMENT he realises that manipulating Liv doesn't work, this happens:
he noticed that while Liv was suspicious of him, Ravi is a bit more feel sorry for him -
And just the entire point of this and making my entire point about this, is his SECOND visit (which, just because it is important here, is not the visit after the failed brain drop-off, it is the visit after he turned Jackie and now needs brains and it is the first time he directly asks for them. And now this is how this visit starts (he has a quick quippy thing about karaoke between those two stills but that's beside the point):
Just in case I'm insane and only I'm obsessed with this:
He came in because he needed brains - and it takes him no more than 15 seconds (technically just 14 seconds, actually) of real-time, no skip dialogue to ask for Ravi.
Ravi who he knows is human, who he knows knows about zombies, who he knows knows about Liv eating brains at his morgue and who he knows is fine with that - even excited about zombies. So yeah, maybe that's an underwhelming finding after all of this but I'm convinced that Blaine's game here was to drop in on Ravi alone there, after he clearly messed things up with Liv, so that he could deal up his sorry-factor and get free brains out of him

Diabolik Lovers LOST EDEN ー Carla Ecstasy [07]
ー The scene starts in the saloon at Banmaden
Yui: Well then, I’m entrusting you with this letter. Please deliver it to the Vibora troops.
Familiar: Yes, as you wish.
Shin: They’re planning an attack against us. Be careful that you don’t get taken out.
Familiar: I shall be plenty cautious.
Shin: ...Nii-san. Anything you want to say to our Familiar?
Carla: No. ...Get going already.
Familiar: Yes. I shall get going then.
*Woosh*
Yui: ( Now our proposal to form an alliance should reach the Vibora. )
Carla: ...
Shin: ...You can be such a child at times, Nii-san. Did you really have to take out your frustrations on the Familiar?
Carla: I did not do such a thing.
Shin: ...Seems like you no longer care about acting like a proper King when Yui is involved.
Carla: Of course. There is no other woman out there who could fulfill her duty of giving birth to a Founder child.
Therefore she shall receive a special treatment. It only makes sense.
Shin: I mean, you’re not wrong. ...But is that truly the only reason?
Carla: What are you alluding to, Shin?
Shin: Whoops. I better step back before I get snapped at even more...
*Knock knock*
Shin: Oh. Someone’s here.
ー Kino enters the room
Shin: ーー Kino.
Kino: I spotted one of your Familiars earlier. They’re on their way to ask the Vibora for an alliance, right?
Carla: ...Yes.
Kino: Okay! Then we won’t have to fight them, right? So, what will you do next?
I heard that the Vibora Clan had already made plans to attack the Vampire Clan after they were done with Banmaden, you see?
Yui: The Vampire Clan...
Kino: Hm? ーー Ah, right. You lived together with those guys before, didn’t you?
I guess you can’t help but get worried when finding out that they’re be targeted next?
Yui: ...
Kino: Aha! I get where you’re coming from, but you can’t pretend to be buddy-buddy with them forever.
Better make quick work of those Vampires, or they could cause a lot of trouble down the line. Right, Carla?
Carla: ...You do make a valid point.
Yui: ( ... )
Shin: Shuu is their current King, right?
Carla: Yes. Exactly.
Yui: ( Shuu-san is the King... )
Kino: He only just succeeded the house. However.
If he gets to the same level as Karlheinz, nobody will be able to stop him, you know?
In short, if you want to rewrite the Demon World’s hierarchy, now’s the only time. It’s a prime opportunity.
So, you know? Don’t you think you should make your next move soon?
Carla: I do not need you to tell me that. I have already decided what I should do.
Kino: Ah, is that so? So we can leave that up to you?
Carla: Of course.
Kino: Roger! I’m counting on you then.
ー Kino leaves
*Thud*
Yui: ...
ー The scene shifts to Yui’s room
Yui: ...Haah.
( I can’t get the thing Kino-kun said out of my head... )
( I should have known that if Carla-san wishes to reign over the Demon World, he would have to fight the Vampire Clan as well. )
( Apparently Shuu-san inherited the throne but...I wonder how the others are doing? )
( If possible, I don’t want them to fight butーー )
ー Somebody enters her room
*Creaaak*
Yui: ...!
*Thud*
Yui: Carla-san...Why the sudden visit?
Carla: What were you thinking about?
Yui: Eh...?
Carla: You’ve been lost in thought ever since Kino visited earlier, no?
Yui: ( ...Carla-san sees right through me. )
( But... )
Selection
→ Deny it
Yui: No, that’s not true.
Carla: ーー Is that the truth?
Yui: Ugh...
Carla: Can you say that one more time while looking me straight into the eyes?
Yui: ...
( There’s no way I could ever deceive him. I wonder why I said the opposite of what I actually think? )
→ Fail to answer (❦)
Yui: ...
Carla: You cannot answer my question?
Yui: ...I figured there is no reason to.
Carla: Excuse me...?
Yui: I realize that I simply cannot keep secrets from you.
Carla: ...
Carla: Those Vampires are on your mind, correct?
Yui: ...Yes.
Carla: You still cannot forget about them?
Yui: ...
( I doubt I could properly explain my relationship with them. )
...I’m sorry.
Carla: So you have chosen to apologize. Do you realize that apologies only prove that one is aware of their own crimes?
Yui: ...
( What I feel for those Vampires is completely different from my love for Carla-san, butーー )
Carla: Hmph. ...I can tell this weighs down heavy on you.
In that case, all I have to do is make you forget.
ー He steps closer and embraces her
*Rustle rustle*
Yui: Eh...?
( N-No...! )
Carla: Whether it is affection or pain, I shall grant your every wishーー
ー Carla shivers before stepping back
Carla: ...!!
ー He collapses
*Thud*
Yui: ...!! What’s wrong, Carla-san!? Carla-sanーー!!!!
Monologue
It seems that as the next step in their plan,
the Vibora are thinking of launching an attack on the Vampire Clan.
Then with our intentions of forming an alliance with them,
will we have to go down that same path as well...?
A war against the Vampires.
When I think of that,
I felt my heart sink.
Carla-san can urge me to forget about them all he wants,
it is not actually that easy.
However, I had other things to worry about right now.
Carla-san had suddenly lost conscious and collapsed (崩れ落ちた) on the floor.
Endzeit is a terminal illness.
Could it be,
has that time (その時) finally come...?
ーー TO BE CONTINUED ーー
