It isn't just about the ship; it's also very much about the homophobia (whether the creators know it or not) that is preventing the ship from being canon when they otherwise would be.

Why is Harry x Eggsy such a popular ship in the Kingsman fandom? I just watched the movie yesterday and on two (2) completely unrelated things, I’ve seen two different people shipping them. W... why? Their dynamic reminds me of Tony Stark and Peter Parker or Remus Lupin and Harry Potter, neither of which I ship AT ALL, besides platonically as a father-son dynamic.

ALSO, Harry knew Eggsy when he was a CHILD. Harry knew Eggsy’s FATHER. There’s like 30 years between them. YIKES.

okay unpopular opinion time... i watched kingsman: the secret service and everyone ships hartwin, which is the main character and the man who recruited him to try for a position at kingsman. not only is that kinda :/ because harry is a father figure to eggsy, but in the beginning of the movie, eggsy is very clearly a young child when harry gives him the medallion. with that much of an age gap, there's no way that ship isn't unhealthy. i support the idea of harry being a father figure to eggsy, but the two in a romantic relationship? no

What we see of Eggsy/Tilde

- they fuck after he saves the world. - a couple (?) of years later they’re living together and in love. - she’s likes his friends - he tricks her (admittedly arsehole) father into liking him ( i like to think he calls Roxy AFTER the king asks an awkward question) - when he calls to tell her that he has to sleep with a mark she holds out on saying it’s ok - fair enough - but as soon as he says he wants to be with her forever she jumps on it and immediately tries to guilt him into marrying her. I don’t know about you but if I was someone’s SO concerned about them sleeping with someone else I wouldn’t immediately feel better if they proposed. She was basically holding out to see what he was going to offer her in his guilt. - when he suggests that they postpone a serious conversation for later because he’s honestly on a schedule and is WORKING she basically breaks up with him. Not by telling him but by cutting off all contact with him. - he has a legitimate reason for not wanting to marry her as it would make him a public figure and mess with his career - she only calls him back when she’s ill. Now I know it can be interpreted as her calling him while delusional, but I kind of interpreted it by her smile when she first calls as her calling her spy ex to see if he could help her. - she comes back to him when he saves her life. It’s adorable. It might have happened anyway. - They get married in a wedding scene where he has more of a significant moment with his best man than he does with her

Now I’m not saying that its a badly written, boring, no homo-esque romance that has no build up and little to do with the plot but that’s exactly what I’m saying.

I just want to stop thinking:

about my precious baby Eggsy being in toxic relationship with a woman who uses his guilt issues to manipulate him and doesn’t give a shit about - I don’t even know - him becoming a really good target right after their marriage and unimportant stuff like that

about brave and absolutely gorgeous man, who literally returned from dead, being so confused by a temporary memory loss, ashamed of his own feelings and frightened to be rejected (like he even could be) that he tries so hard to convince everybody and especially himself that he is a machine with absolutely no feelings, never loved, never was loved

about all these good people (not only people) who deserve much better but die for nothing (just for the sake of tragedy, in my opinion)

Kingsman, with 5/6 palette meme

Drew 4.5 of these in May 2016 but managed to remember them as garbage, unearthed them today, had a Moment in which these looked way better than in memory, finished No. 3, and posting before I change my opinion.

I am not in anime or cartoon fandoms, but one of my favourite OTPs is Hartwin from Kingsman movies, and there is quite a sizable age gap in that ship, and it is kind of amazing to me that so very few fandom antis are aware of that ship, because it would definitely make their heads explode. May be we are just lucky that the movies are rated MA15 +, lol. But it is a really great ship, with an amazingly creative and a very friendly fandom.

Yay I’m glad antis aren’t bothering y’all over in that fandom. Antis tend to go for ships in more mainstream stuff
