Scrolling through OC ask memes is very funny sometimes because a good handful of them have questions that... we don't think apply terribly well.

Yeah, they're a bug, tattoos are a bit complicated. They can't swim because they're an insect. Their ancestry is Cricket and their blood type is green. They don't know what a car is.

Work is really quiet today, and when it's quiet I kind of get to do whatever I want as long as I don't leave my classroom.

I also recently got a new job elsewhere on campus, so I'm on "two weeks' notice" behavior right now as it's my last three days. I decided to bring some things to photograph for eBay as I continue to de-hoard.

So my boss comes in and I'm standing there with a fully assembled dollhouse furniture display and a bunch of dolls on one of the tables. And doll clothes are everywhere. And tiny little plates, and cups, and a little hotdog.

And my boss (who wasn't supposed to be here for another two hours) just materializes in the doorway, and she stands there, open-mouthed, staring at me and this ostentatious spread of Dawn dolls.

I'm like, "I can explain-"

But she instead did the most unexpected thing and just burst into tears and was like "I'm going to miss you and your strangeness so much. What will this place be without you to make it all fun?"

I think it's great that in the ten years I've been here, I've not only been perceived as strange, but people have thought I "make it all fun," given the fact they have no idea I'm NostalgicFun :)

Can I just say, if you read or hear some wild version of a greek myth that you're already familiar with, there's no reason to come on here and make a post like "was no one going to tell me ___?! This changes EVERYTHING!" Chances are what you heard is simply some obscure version of the myth or a crazy tidbit about a well-known character that's only found in some forgotten scholiast's note on Pseudo-Apollodorus or some shit, a thousand years after the Iliad was written and any of that stuff was even relevant.

No need to get all up in arms about it. No reason to make that specific version your entire personality. Very, very few things in greek mythology are set in stone, there's always someone making stuff up, and especially when it comes to extremely popular characters like Achilles, every area in Greece likely had their own version of their myth. So take everything you hear with a grain of salt! Have fun, make stuff up yourself! That's literally the whole point

And look, I know I'm focusing on fun fun fun fun fun, but it helped because uh, the things that have come out about Yoon Suk-yeol's coup attempt are frightening and frankly more insane than you can even imagine.

(Just to keep the record straight, the bit about the DPRK uniforms is complicated because it hasn't been confirmed but hasn't been debunked yet either: x. We'll know for sure once the investigation starts.)

I have finally FINALLY got up to the dream scene at the start of the last mabelcorn in kmky and everything is flowing nicely finally, and the scenes and characterisation all are smooth and make sense and I am no longer going over the same establishing scenes like a pedant trying to make them perfect. SUCCESS!

Just have to knock out these next few bits then it's onto unicorn beatdowns, funny hats, pizza parties and loophole heists!

thinking about all the forms of magic MC has used, just suddenly as if they are fully trained. also the lack of magical tools used feels weird? Like we got a rune ward for rune carving, and a shadow seeker vacuum, a fragment of aideens light and a bottle of aideens tears but these all do... nothing? We dont use the rune wand to help channel energy, or rune-work outside of that one questline.

idk if it's just me but with some of the more recent late-game quests it feels as though MC has suddenly become adept in magic after training in the Sun circle (& doing minor work in the lightning and moon circle). It feels quite... offputting but that could just be me being weird

I've had anxiety pretty much all my life and having my fears/concerns brushed off is not a new thing for me and sometimes it's justified, but it is uniquely annoying in this case because I keep being right, repeatedly, throughout the pandemic, and people are still acting like I'm just being my panicky self and it's not as big a deal as I'm making it.

I usually answer questions for Elliott because they're my current protagonist, but Adrian actually occupies the most space in my brain (shhh don't tell anyone) so...

Adrian would initially pretend he was just taking in the cat because he felt bad - he likes animals, but he doesn't want a pet. He'll foster this cat until he can find it a forever home...which is his home, by the way. He's never, ever giving this cat up. It's a little white cat with two black spots, one on its head and one on its tail. He names it Coda. And he talks to it like a human, sarcasm on full blast -

"No, it's fine. Sit in my lap while I'm trying to work. Totally not distracting."

"Oh, thanks. I needed a fuckton of hair on my clean laundry."

jokes aside it's sad that 5 years later 8tracks failed to do what it promised to do and even struggle to capture a decent audience after their initial shutdown announcement. they could've kept that legacy but instead the people who bought the site only alienated their audience and let the platform die with no reprise or community to mourn for it's death the second time.
