a sight to behold

warnings: just a lot of teasing & dirty thoughts
notes: i was practically rubbing my hands together with evil intentions when i saw this request but i’ll spare the graphic details for another time, otherwise this will be extremely long!! also i wrote them separately here BUT i wouldn’t be opposed if someone requested them to be grouped together instead... anyway, i hope you enjoy this!! >:)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE WIDELY FEARED PRIMO GEOVISHAP was certainly a sight to behold from above. You quickly understood why so many people often avoided interacting with this beast – it was intimidating even while it slept soundly, its loud snores echoing throughout the cavern despite being so far down. As you stood on the platform above its sleeping form, you studied its details, noticing the element it possessed and strategizing your combat plan quickly, thankful that you could manipulate an element that targetted its weakness. Once you made up your mind, you let out a huff as you took a leap of faith down, letting your glider save you at the last second before you could actually make contact with the ground.
Your companion followed behind swiftly, the two of you moving gently around the walls of the cavern, careful not to wake the beast from its slumber. In a low whisper, you began to describe your strategy to your partner, but alas, the beast suddenly awoke and interrupted your planning with a ear splitting roar.
Without a second thought, the two of you dashed to the creature, loosely following the details of the plan you had based on what you were able to say before you got interrupted. The battle was fine at first, but you soon realized how out of sync the two of you became as the fight progressed. Your elemental reactions were getting poorly timed, and it was difficult to keep an eye on each other’s movements with the beast constantly thrashing about and blocking communication.
In normal circumstances, the two of you excelled in combat together without needing any other support. Maybe it was bad luck, or maybe you bit off more than you could chew this time, but you noticed you were getting knocked around easier than usual. Things were obviously not going your way and you had to think of a solution fast.
But before you knew it, your distraction with your own thoughts got the best of you. One single swipe of the geovishap’s tail sent you flying across the cavern towards the opposite wall then tumbling on the ragged, rocky edges of floor, certainly leaving cuts and bruises for later. To make matters worse, one more aggressive roar from the beast shook the walls of cavern enough to send chunks of rock tumbling down towards your injured body. Unable to form coherent thoughts, you knew you didn’t have the strength to escape the avalanche. Instead, all you could do was lay there, helpless and bracing for impact, praying to the Archons that you can be saved.
Tumblr media
zhongli
Zhongli made quick work of the beast, using his shield to deliver an extremely effective counter attack and finishing it once and for all. The creature wailed in pain in its dying moments before disintegrating into dust. He expected to see your face on the other side but alas, you were nowhere to be seen.
“[Y/N]?” his face tensed as he tried to think of where you could have disappeared to. As his eyes darted around the cavern, he immediately noticed a tiny speck of color amongst the rocks on the wall that resembled your clothing. He quickly sprinted towards you, lifting some of the boulders off of you effortlessly using his geo manipulation.
He began to subconsciously slow down once he saw the way you were displayed in front of him. Your legs were propped up slightly from the rocks underneath you that caved in from the impact. The way your hips curved up caused your skirt to fold back onto you, leaving you completely exposed under his gaze.
Ungodly thoughts began to race across Zhongli’s mind. He couldn’t help but slowly undress you in his mind, thinking about all the things he could do to you in this moment of vulnerability.
You poor thing... If only we were not in such a potential dire circumstance of life or death, what would stop me from keeping these rocks on top of you, grabbing those hips, and pressing myself against you? It would be the perfect opportunity to keep you still while I have my way with you... Perhaps I should check to see if you’re okay first, and maybe I can trap you with these rocks myself instead. Certainly I could even lift you in a better position for a better fit...
“Stay with me, [Y/N],” Zhongli snapped out of his fantasy and continued to lift the boulders off of you, wondering if he should really go through with his urges. “You will be okay...”
Tumblr media
childe
Childe had noticed you fly across the cavern in the corner of his eye, and watching you land on the floor at such a fierce impact only fueled him to keep fighting. In a fit of a rage and frustration, he summoned his dual blades and quickly turned the tides of the battle towards his favor. He didn’t even need to watch the beast die to know it was dead within seconds, and after his final blow he quickly dashed towards where you landed only to find out you had been crushed by more rocks.
He let out another yell of frustration, grabbing the boulders one by one and pushing them off of you. “[Y/N]? Can you hear me?”
“I’m fine, just get these off of me!” you managed to call out from underneath the pile. Relieved that you were alive and well, he managed to push most of the boulders off but hesitated once he got a good look at the way you were laid out in front of him.
With your legs dangling off the edge of the pile, your ass was comedically exposed towards him, the rest of your upper half still trapped within the remains of the avalanche. Funnily enough, the hem of your skirt had even got trapped above your hips that you were completely exposed, causing Childe to grin evilly.
“Well, well, well,” he slowly walked over to you and placed a gloved hand on your bare cheek, still slightly out of breath from the heavy lifting. He gave a gentle squeeze, eliciting a gasp from you. “Is this my reward for helping you? If so, I’ll gladly take it now...”
“Did you forget that I’m stuck? What if I’m badly injured?!”
“In that case, I’m sure I can make all the pain go away and replace it with pleasure instead,” he gave one final squeeze and chuckled before walking away to grab another boulder. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding... But once you’re out, don’t expect all this help to come for free, you know.”
Tumblr media
diluc
Diluc watched you tumble across the floor with panicked eyes, immediately worrying about your safety but not letting that distract him from the task at hand. In the heat of the moment under the influence of rage and anxiety, he summoned his pyro manipulation to set his claymore ablaze and deliver multiple final blows to the creature, smashing its figure into bits. The beast cried in its final moments and when he was sure it was dead, he dropped his sword as he sprinted towards you.
Pure panic settled in once he saw you had been crushed underneath the pile of rocks. He pushed himself to run faster, feeling tears form in the corners of his eyes but ignoring it. He didn’t want to lose you – not this easily.
“[Y/N]!” he called out once he reached the site, “Can you hear me?”
“I’m here, Diluc. I’m fine,” you reassured him. He deeply sighed in relief as he began to push the boulders off of you. Thank Barbatos you were alive and well! He shook the thought of you being fatally injured away from the forefront of his mind to focus on getting you out of this mess, using his strength to his advantage. But after a few rocks were pushed off of you, his eyes widened at the sight of you, a sight he will never forget.
While your legs and upper body were still trapped underneath the pile, the first thing Diluc revealed was your ass, exposed by your skirt that was coincidentally trapped above your hips. Your thighs were pinned together, rubbing gently as you squirmed in the rubbish, trying to wiggle your way out. Or at least, he wanted to believe you were wiggling for the sole purpose of getting out, and not to tease him.
With a nervous gulp, he averted his eyes away from you and resumed his work on the boulders. His mind couldn’t help but drift away into sinful corners, though. He envisioned the way he could firmly grab your thighs, pull down your underwear and...
“Don’t scare me like that again,” he took a more lighthearted tone to cover up his urges, “I thought you were surely dead.”
Tumblr media
kaeya
After briefly witnessing you get thrown across the cavern, Kaeya managed to finally stab the beast in such a precise weakness point, making it wail in pain until it slowly withered away in its dying moments. He took no time at all to rush over to you, sprinting faster once he saw that you had been crushed by an avalanche.
“[Y/N], talk to me,” he subtly asked for reassurance that you were still alive as he began to analyze the situation and pinpoint exactly where you were in all this rubbish.
“I’m okay,” you weakly muttered with a grin, glad that he had come to your rescue, “Just a little bruised, that’s all.”
Following the trail of your voice, he put his mind to work. He started to strategically push certain rocks so that others would naturally fall off of you without him needing to lift too much. After awhile, he began to spot one of your arms, then your other arm, and with each rock tumbling down he soon revealed the full picture.
Or at least, a fraction of the full picture.
He was relieved to see that you had wrapped your arms around your head for protection before the crash, avoiding what would have been an extremely dangerous injury. With your entire body from the chest down still trapped, you felt the need to stretch out your arms in the newly freed space and take a deep breath, glad to finally have some fresh air. “Good morning,” you joked on your bed of rocks.
Even though he certainly felt some relief, he couldn’t fight the urge to tease you as he cooed over the sight of you so helpless underneath him. With an evil smirk, he pulled out one of the rocks that was supporting your neck, leaving your head hanging off the edge and eliciting a gasp from you. Before you could protest, he propped himself up against the wall with one arm, his body hovering over you and his crotch just inches away from your face.
“Look at that pretty mouth of yours... You tempt me even in the most dire situations, sweetheart,” he let his free hand run slender fingers across your scalp, slowly massaging you. “Now that I think about it, I do deserve a prize for saving you, don’t I?”
“Quit running your mouth and just help me get out of here,” you scolded him jokingly. He laughed and shook his head dismissively as he walked away to get back to work, fighting that strong urge to use your throat in such a vulnerable state.
“If you say so, sweetheart. Maybe some other time.”

Taking Chances Chapter Seven: Trying for Normal (Gifts)

AO3
“You can not honestly tell me you are thinking of announcing that girl as your daughter.” Damian says, his scowl deeper than Dick had seen it in a while.
“‘That girl’ has a name, Little D. Plus she’s your sister.” Dick says, resisting the urge to nudge him. They had gotten to the point where a small nudge wasn’t a death sentence, but Damian was on edge. And a small nudge would probably not be appreciated.
“I do not care what her name is, Grayson. Since coming to Gotham she has been involved in two separate Rogue attacks. She is suspicious at best, and a nuisance at worst.” He replies, crossing his arms.
“Enough, Damian. Marinette is not a nuisance. She simply has bad luck.” Bruce says, obviously trying to defend his daughter.
“And poor self-preservation skills. Talking back to the Joker? Snarking the Riddler? For an individual with no combat training, she gets much too involved in attacks. It is idiotic.” Damian argues, shaking his head.
“It might have something to do with the Paris situation. She said she’s been at attacks before, so she must have some experience with villains. And from what I read on the Ladyblog, none of the damage in Paris lasts. She just may not realize how dangerous it is for her to do here what she would do in Paris. We just need to warn her, or, at least remind her, that Gotham is a dangerous place.” Dick says, thinking back to her reaction to the Riddler and the Joker. She was definitely more tense with the Joker, despite the fact that both villains had arrived with armed goons. Maybe she thought the Riddler was less likely to kill someone, not true. Or maybe she- Dick frowns as he remembers a key difference between the attacks.
“I just realized something.” He says with a frown.
“Care to share with the rest of the room, Dickiebird?” Jason asks, strolling in and flopping onto a chair.
“She was more tense at the attack with the Joker, she seemed to understand that it was a dangerous situation. Sure, she talked back to him, but she didn’t try to fight back or anything. But at the attack with the Riddler, he wasn’t even targeting her at first. He was targeting the boy she’d been talking to. And she was more reckless, and then she fought back. She fought well, but it was still super dangerous.” Dick rambles, pacing as he explains the predicament.
“Is there a point to this? I feel like I walked in at the wrong time.” Jason calls out from his chair, feet propped up on the table in front of him.
“My point, Jay, is that Marinette has a crush.” Dick says, shuddering at the word like it’s something disgusting. (It is, his sister is too young for crushes and boyfriends).
“Is that why she ran off with him right after the attack?” Jason asks with a smirk. Dick feels his eyes practically shoot out of his head.
“She what!?” He yells, running over to the Batcomputer to look at the security footage from the wax museum. Spots that were targeted frequently, like the wax museum, had their security footage directly linked to the Batcave. Just in case of an emergency or in case an attack happened and they needed an extra set of eyes.
“I’m sure she didn’t do anything that you wouldn’t do.” Jason teases, and Dick pales.
“Shut up, Jason!” He moans, his typing turning frantic as he scrolls through the day’s footage. He stops when he gets to the moments after the battle. When the phones of the French students had all gone off. Frowning, he watches as his sister runs up to the boy and grabs his hand, leaning in and whispering to each other before the two run out of the room. Towards the bathrooms. Oh hell no. Dick scrolls forwards, frowning when they don’t come out in five minutes. Or ten minutes. Huffing, he switches to the cameras aimed at the exits. Surely one of the cameras had to catch the pair leaving the museum. He rewinds it and watches, but...there’s nothing. They don’t leave the bathrooms and they don’t leave the museum. For the rest of the day.
“Has anyone been in contact with her since the attack?” Bruce asks from right beside him, making him jump out of his seat with a yelp.
“I don’t even have her number.” Dick says, resisting the urge to glare at his adoptive father. He might’ve had Marinette’s number had Bruce actually acted like he wanted her to be there for dinner the other day. Instead, he practically ignored her and she left. And now she was missing. Definitely missing, because she never came out of the bathroom at the museum.
“Hello, Marinette? Yes, I apologize for calling so suddenly. I was- yes. Yes, I did hear about the attack….yes, that was part of the reason I was calling. I was wondering if you would like to come to dinner at the manor. You could bring your friend, Adrien Agreste, I believe was his name. Of course. Yes. Oh no, I’ll send a car. No, no I assure you it- Marinette please. Taxis aren’t always safe after dark. Thank you. Yes, I- we’ll see you then. Goodbye.” Bruce hangs up, and Dick looks at him, raising an eyebrow.
“Just gonna suddenly invite her and her boy toy to dinner, B? What’re you gonna do, interrogate them?” He asks frowning.
“That’s the second time that Marinette has ran off after that alarm. I’ve seen videos of the situation in Paris and I’m concerned. Now go upstairs and act normal. I want all of you on your best behaviors at dinner. Damian, better than best please. No weapons.” Bruce directs before leaving the room, presumably to ask Alfred to pick up Marinette. Dick sighs and looks at his brothers.
“Well this isn’t going to be a disaster or anything.” He says. --- “Tikki this is going to be a disaster!” Marinette whines, throwing herself face first onto the bed. She tries to ignore Tikki’s amused giggle. This was not funny. This was dinner with her family that she hadn’t made a great impression on the first time. And Adrien was invited, and she wasn’t sure where the two stood but she was sure that if Dick was at dinner, he would just push Adrien farther away from her.
“I could practically hear your suffering from Adrien’s room, pigtails.” Plagg says, making Marinette sit up and glare at the Kwami.
“Are you just here to mock me?” She asks, pouting. He snorts.
“No, I’m here to tell you the kid’s on his way over here. I told him you were panicking and he practically ran out his door.” Plagg says with a chuckle. Rapid knocking on the door makes him laugh more before dropping onto the bed next to Tikki. Marinette sighs, rolling off the bed and pulling the door open, jumping forward in time to catch Adrien before he completely falls to the ground.
“Are you okay? Plagg said you were panicking, did something happen?” He asks quickly, looking her up and down. Marinette blinks, slightly taken aback by his sudden concern. It was nice, but still a lot all at once. Shaking her head, she gestures for him to come in and shuts the door behind him. Walking back over to the bed, she once again face plants and groans.
“She’s nervous because Mr. Wayne invited the two of you to dinner.” Tikki chirps, giggling when Marinette lifts her head up enough to glare at her.
“Traitor.” She says, dropping her head back down.
“If you don’t want me to go with Marinette, I won’t.” Adrien says. Marinette immediately jumps up, shaking her head rapidly.
“No, no that’s not what I meant. I just- I’m nervous about actually sitting through a dinner with them. And I’m pretty sure Dick will try and sit between us and glare at you like he did at the museum.” She admits, cursing the way her cheeks heat up. Adrien raises an eyebrow.
“He was glaring at me?” He asks, utter confusion on his face. Marinette groans, dropping her head into her hands.
“Sometimes your obliviousness is cute-”
“You think I’m cute!”
“But right now, it’s kinda making me want to scream into my pillow.” Marinette admits, giving him her signature “not amused” look. A look she usually saves for when Chat Noir is making a pun.
“Wait, why wouldn’t Dick like me?” Adrien asks, thankfully stuck on that now instead of the fact that she thinks he’s cute.
“Um, maybe because we were holding hands? Did you really not notice how he kept standing in between us the entire time we were at the museum?” Marinette asks, suddenly unsure if she’d imagined the whole thing.
“Oh no, I did. I just didn’t think it meant he didn’t like me. I’ve never really dealt with siblings before. I mean, I’ve met Nino’s little brother but...that’s about it.” Adrien says, nervously rubbing the back of his neck. Marinette sighs, grinning softly.
“I don’t really have a lot of experience either, so maybe I was just imagining things.” She admits. Adrien’s shoulders instantly relax and she smiles. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad.
“So, did you want me to come with?” He asks after a moment of silence. Marinette nods, agreeing immediately.
“Please. I don’t think I can go back there alone, not yet anyway.”
“Of course, Mari. Now, what’re you wearing?” --- The ride to Wayne Manor wasn’t as quiet as her first, with Adrien making quiet jokes and saying things to try and help keep Marinette out of her head. She was thankful that he had come with, because she was definitely going to need the emotional support to get through dinner. The car stops and Marinette sucks in a deep breath. Smoothing out her skirt nervously, Marinette glances at the small, neatly wrapped package sitting between her and Adrien. It was something she had started back when she first found out she was adopted. And that her parents didn’t know her bio dad. A scrapbook with copies of everything important from her life: baby pictures, school pictures, birth announcement, report cards, clippings from newspapers where she had won or placed in contests, pictures of her early designs and recent designs, pictures of certificates and trophies from various competitions and activities. Basically a road map of her life to be given to her bio dad so that he could get to know her. She’d written her name on the front page, with the words “daughter of Bruce Wayne and Bridgette Le” underneath. A sort of amendment to her birth announcement which listed her as the daughter of Tom and Sabine Dupain Cheng. And while she definitely was their daughter, she also wanted Mr. Wayne to know that she wanted to be his daughter too. Not just by blood, which isn’t the important part. No, she wanted to get to know him and for him to get to know her. Pushing down the intruding thoughts insisting that it was too soon and that he didn’t want her in the first place, she opens the car door and steps out, clutching the package to her chest like a safety blanket.
“Would you like me to take that for you, Miss Marinette?” Alfred asks, glancing at the package.
“Oh, no thank you Alfred. It’s for my da- er, um, Mr. Wayne. I can hang onto it.” She says with a bright smile. She could do this. Sure, it didn’t go great the last time she was here. And she was pretty sure Mr. Wayne’s youngest son could kill her and wanted to kill her. But it was fine. Everything is fine. Walking through the front door, her shoulders relax slightly when she sees Dick is the only one standing there waiting for them.
“Marinette! He cheers, rushing forward and picking her up in a hug. As in, legitimately picking her up. Okay then.
“Good to see you too.” She says, trying not to show that he’s literally suffocating her with the hug.
“Good to see you again, Dick!” Adrien says cheerfully. Marinette feels Dick tense before setting her down, his smile less bright as he looks at Adrien.
“And you. Adrien, right?” He asks, sticking his hand out for a handshake.
“Yup!” Adrien says cheerfully. Marinette watches cautiously, noticing that Dick seems to be squeezing a little too hard….and then Adrien appears to match his strength, if the look on Dick’s face is anything to go by. Marinette coughs to hide a snort, her face heating up as both boys turn to look at her.
“Uh, is it just you and Mr. Wayne tonight?” Marinette asks, choosing to ignore their awkward handshake.
“Nope! It’s me and Bruce and Alfred, of course, and Jay and Tim and Damian and Cass. Steph’s not in town and Babs is having dinner with her dad.” Dick says, and Marinette’s eyes widen. There were a lot more people in her bio dad’s family than she thought. She knew about the boys, but she hadn’t seen anything about Cass, Steph or ‘Babs’.
“I didn’t realize I had sisters too.” She says instead of voicing her insecurities. Before she only had the boys to measure up against, now she had three girls too?
“Well, the only official sister is Cass. Steph used to date Tim and she just kinda stuck around. She’s practically family at this point. And Babs and I used to date, but again, she stuck around after and now she’s practically family.” Dick explains with a grin and a shrug. Cause having your exes around isn’t awkward. Or, maybe it isn’t. She doesn’t have any exes to compare it to. Just as she starts to get lost in her thoughts, she feels Adrien brush against her gently. Reminding her that he’s there, for her, giving her the strength she needs to follow Dick into the living room. Where everyone else was sitting. Oh boy.
“Marinette, so glad you could join us. And Mr. Agreste, nice to see you again.” Bruce says, standing from his spot and moving to shake Adrien’s hand.
“You as well, M. Wayne. And please, call me Adrien. Mr. Agreste is my father.” He says, and Marinette can just barely see his wince. His father always had been his least favorite subject, no matter how much or how little they spoke of him.
“Thanks for inviting us.” Marinette says, moving the package so that she’s no longer clutching it like a lifeline. Holding it out to Mr. Wayne, she laughs at his confused face. “It’s a present.” She adds.
“Oh, well, thank you.” He says, his face unreadable. Marinette shifts her weight, glancing between him and the package, waiting for him to open it. Or properly introduce her to the rest of the family. Either option would work at this point. Glancing at Dick, she sighs in relief when he claps. At least someone was going to make the first move.
“Right, so I don’t think you got the chance to meet Jason and Damian properly when you were here the other day.” Dick says, tugging her around a still frozen Bruce in front of the two boys from the other day.
“No, I didn’t. Hi, I’m Marinette.” She says, smiling and holding out a hand to Damian first. He tuts and turns away, making Marinette’s smile fall slightly before she turns to Jason. Jason grins and shakes her hand.
“Welcome to the family, kid.” He says, before whistling. “You didn’t get B’s height, that’s for sure.” He teases, Marinette snorts, her smile turning into a teasing smirk.
“Hey, don’t count me out for my height. Ever heard the phrase, small but mighty?” She asks, crossing her arms. Jason snorts, reaching out and messing up her hair.
“Whatever you say, Pixie Pop.” He replies. She rolls her eyes and turns to the other two siblings she hadn’t met.
“Hi, you must be Tim and Cass.” She says, smiling at both of them. Tim nods, his hand twitching towards his pocket. Marinette tries not to laugh, having seen Max do the same thing when he had to socialize for any amount of time. The boy was always far more comfortable with his phone in his hand, even if he wasn’t actually looking at it. Cass smiles, and Marinette notices her hands moving. “Sorry, could you repeat that, I wasn’t watching closely.” She says. Cass’ smile widens and she nods before starting over.
“Welcome to family. Nice to meet you.” Cass signs, making Marinette beam.
“It’s nice to meet you too.” She says, eyes widening when she realizes she left Adrien alone with a frozen Mr. Wayne. Whirling around, she moved back to Adrien and tugged him forward, rolling her eyes at his surprised yelp. Honestly, he should expect this by now.
“Geeze, Princess. Give a man a warning.” He says, adjusting his shirt that she’d accidentally messed up.
“Sorry k- Adrien. Sorry. Anyway, uh, everyone this is my friend Adrien Agreste. Adrien this is Jason, Damian, Tim, Cass and you already know Dick.” Marinette introduces, gesturing to each of her new siblings. Adrien shoots a wide smile, not quite his model smile but also not quite a real one.
“Nice to meet you all.” He says.
“Marinette, I apologize. Did you want me to open this now?” Mr. Wayne asks suddenly. She turns and raises an eyebrow at his unreadable expression and the way he holds onto the present like he doesn’t know what to expect. Which is fair, considering they’d only met in person the day before.
“Oh, um, if you want to. It’s nothing big.” She says, watching nervously as he nods and unwraps it. His eyebrows twitch together as he looks at the book, obviously not yet understanding.
“Open it, B.” Dick whispers, clearly understanding the gift more than their father. Mr. Wayne nods and opens it, his unreadable expression falling into one that she...still can’t read. But it’s not emotionless anymore. As he flips through the book, a small smile creeps its way onto his face and Marinette almost cheers. That’s the most sincere look she’d ever seen on the man.
“Did you put all this together?” He asks, glancing up from the book to look at her. Marinette nods.
“When I found out I was adopted, I wanted to have something to give my bio dad. So that even if he didn’t want to see me in person, he could get to know me. When I found out you’re my, um, dad, I added some personal touches.” She says.
“And I can keep this?” He asks, and Marinette’s shocked that he sounds almost scared. As if he thinks she’ll say no and take everything back. She smiles.
“Of course. My Maman and Papa already have those pictures. These are all yours.” She says.
“Thank you, Marinette. I- This is an amazing gift.” He says. Marinette’s smile widens and her shoulders sag in relief. Maybe tonight wouldn’t be a disaster after all.

Five Lies
Day 6, Story #2 is by @be11atrixthestrange
Author/Artist: be11atrixthestrange Pairing: Ron/Hermione Prompt: 5+1 Rating: M Trigger Warning(s) (if any): mentions of character death
---------------
Five Lies Five times Ron lied to Hermione, and one time he told the truth
---------------
-Year Four - The Common Room
Ron was thankful the common room was empty, because he needed a moment alone. He plopped down into an armchair by the fire, and breathed a heavy sigh. His throat felt tight, and his eyes stung with unshed tears. He didn't need a mirror to tell him that his face was as red as a beet; he could feel it.
Earlier in the Great Hall, Fleur had asked him to pass the bread, and he just stared at her. Like an idiot.
George's voice still echoed in his ear. "Ronniekins, aren't you going to say something?"
And then Fred had to make it worse. "He can't! He's too busy drooling."
It seemed that everyone followed suit and laughed at him, even Fleur, whose cheeks glowed pink, her expression full of amusement and pity.
Why did Fred and George always embarrass him? They also lost their cool around Fleur — it wasn't just Ron. None of the Weasley boys knew how to act around a Veela. Ron just wished he could control it better.
"Ron? Are you okay?"
Ron froze at the sound of Hermione's voice. He hadn't heard her come in. She took a seat in the armchair across from him, but he avoided her gaze, choosing to shake his head instead.
"They were just joking around, you know," she said. Her tone was sympathetic, and he realized that he didn't care that she almost caught him crying. She would never tell anyone.
"I wish they wouldn't," he said, the words escaping through gritted teeth.
"I know. It's not fair."
Ron could feel her intent gaze, and looked up to meet her eyes. He always liked her eyes. They were big and brown, but the specific shade changed all the time. In the firelight, they almost looked hazel. "Why do they always make fun of me?
Hermione shrugged. "They probably just think you fancy her."
Ron raised his eyebrows at her. "Who, Fleur?"
"Yes, Fleur. Who else?"
He did not fancy Fleur. He didn't even know her.
It was just her stupid Veela power that made him act like an idiot.
"Well, I don't fancy her. I don't fancy anyone." The phrase took a defensive tone, slipping from his lips without a second thought. As soon as he said it, he realized that it didn't even sound true.
"You really don't fancy anyone?" Something unrecognizable crossed her face. Surprise, maybe. Maybe Hermione really did think he fancied Fleur.
He looked her in the eye and wanted more than anything to tell her the truth, but it didn't feel like an option. The thought of telling Hermione that he did, in fact, fancy someone made him a thousand times more nervous than Fleur asking him to pass the bread.
"Really. I don't fancy anyone."
Hermione's eyes narrowed, almost as if she didn't believe him. "I'm going to go to bed," she said, before turning away and shuffling off toward the girls' dormitory.
Ron watched her walk away, confusion etched across his face. It felt like a premature end to their conversation. Maybe she knew he was lying?
He shook his head. It probably wasn't about him. It was possible she wasn't feeling well — she had been looking a little pale, anyway. With a shrug, Ron rose to his feet and started toward his own dormitory, hoping Hermione would feel better in the morning.
-Year Five- The Corridor
Ron never thought he'd look forward to Prefect rounds. He had assumed they'd be nothing but a chore, cutting into his valued free time, preventing him from getting down to the Quidditch pitch to practice. He thought he'd fall behind on homework by dedicating a certain number of hours each week to his duties, but it wasn't an issue at all.
As it turned out, he didn't mind the extra work. Patrolling the corridors at night was a nice reprieve from the stress of schoolwork, and it gave him a much-needed break from dealing with Harry's constant brooding.
It didn't hurt that he got to do it with Hermione. In fact, that's probably what made it most enjoyable. They hadn't spent much time together, just the two of them, in a long while. Not since Hogsmeade visits during their third year, and it was nice.
Ron noticed things about Hermione when they were alone, things he'd never have paid attention to otherwise. Like the way she ran her fingers along the wall when they turned a corner, like she was drawing a line in sand, or how she constantly tucked her hair behind her ears only for it to pop back out again.
He learned that she licked her lips right before she spoke, and that's how Ron knew she was about to interrupt him mid-conversation. It was infuriating when she did that, but he never wanted it to stop.
"What's left to check?" she asked, startling him.
"Oh, erm, just the seventh floor, I think," he said.
"Okay, let's go. Maybe we can finish rounds early."
She turned the corner, and Ron followed behind, watching her skip down the hall. Hermione seemed to like Prefect rounds too; he could tell by the bounce in her step. Everything about her seemed to be relaxed; her stride, her smile, and her overall demeanor. Her shirt hung loosely on her frame, as she'd released its top button, and her socks were pushed down to her ankles, as if even her clothes knew it was the end of the day.
He shouldn't be thinking about her clothes. That was dangerous territory.
Ron cleared his throat. "Yeah, that would be fun. Could always use more free time."
"Or, you could use the extra time to get ahead on McGonagall's essay," she teased, smiling back at him. His neck felt hot.
"Only if you help me."
"Of course," she said. "Homework is more fun when we do it together."
"I agree."
Ron was beside her now, and he stole another glance in her direction. Her face was flushed; it was warm on the higher floors, and her skin glowed from a light sheen of sweat. How had he never noticed that she had a few scattered freckles on her nose?
"Why do you keep doing that?" she asked. Her eyes were on him now, and he felt the warmth in his neck spreading.
"Doing what?" he asked, his tone defensive.
"You're staring at me!"
"I"m no—"
"Yes, you keep doing it," she argued. Although her cheeks were rosy and her eyes narrowed, she wore a faint smirk and didn't seem to be angry. She was just teasing him.
He kind of liked it.
"Well, if you must know, you have something on your cheek," he lied.
"I do?" asked Hermione as she wiped her face with her sleeve. "Did I get it?"
"No, let me try."
Hermione paused and took a step closer to him. He reached a hand up to her face to cup it and brushed a thumb across her cheek, trying to ignore the tidal wave that crashed in his stomach at the contact. Her skin was so soft.
He couldn't let his hand linger on her face without attracting suspicion, so with great effort, he let it drop to his side.
"Is it gone?"
"Um. Yeah."
She pressed a hand to her cheek. "What was it?"
Nothing. "Not sure," he said.
"Hmm," shrugged Hermione. "Well, thank you!" She turned to skip back down the hallway, a few strides in front of Ron.
"No problem," muttered Ron.
He could still feel a tingle on his thumb, the memory of her soft skin still fresh on his mind. He watched her run ahead of him, trying not to think too hard about the way her hair bounced or her skirt fluttered with each stride, because it was maddening.
He groaned. As maddening as it was, he hoped that would never stop. That way, he could keep it on the list of reasons to look forward to Prefect rounds.
-Year Six- The Courtyard
Finally, Ron was alone on a bench in the courtyard, having just convinced Lavender to let him be so he could "study". In reality, he just needed some space.
He liked her enough, but being with Lavender wasn't what he had imagined having a girlfriend to be like. It was nothing like being friends with a girl, at least from his limited experience. All Lavender wanted to do was snog, and Ron missed having someone to talk to, tease, and argue with.
Truth was, he missed Hermione. But unfortunately, she wanted nothing to do with him. She made that perfectly clear in the form of a flock of canaries, and he still had the scabs to remind him.
Ron closed his eyes and was enjoying the silence when the most unexpected voice pulled him back to the present.
"Hey."
His eyes snapped open to see Hermione standing there, right in front of him. Think of the devil.
"Hey." His response just spilled out of his mouth, and it didn't take on the angry tone he had intended. He sounded almost excited to see her.
Thankfully, she didn't seem to notice, shifting nervously from one foot to the other. "Ron, can I talk to you?"
Ron cleared his throat and asked in his most stoic tone, "Promise not to attack me again?"
"I promise."
"Then go on," he said, crossing his arms across his chest so Hermione could get a full view of his scars.
"I'm— I'm sorry about that." She motioned to his arms, and her eyes watered with tears.
"I know you are."
She averted her eyes and licked her lips before continuing. "I was jealous, and it wasn't fair. I hope you can forgive me someday."
She continued to stare intently toward the ground as her cheeks brightened, and Ron resisted a smile.
"You were jealous?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at her. He kept his face neutral, but he couldn't lie — it was a nice thing to hear. He just wished he heard it sooner.
Hermione nodded and finally met his gaze. "I was."
Her eyes were strikingly dark and deep, a fact he'd always appreciated, but had forgotten over the last few weeks. He could stare at them for hours, but he willed himself not to fall under their spell. "Why didn't you talk to me instead of turning birds on me?"
Everything would have been so much easier.
"That's why I'm talking to you now."
"Well, it's too bloody late. I'm with Lavender," he said, unsure who he was trying to convince.
"I know it's too late. I just wanted you to know."
It seemed like an eternity that they stood there in silence, neither wanting to continue the conversation nor feeling like it was over.
Hermione was the first to break the silence. "Are you happy with her?"
And how the hell was he supposed to answer that?
Ron was thrilled Lavender wanted to be with him. She wanted to kiss him, hold his hand in public, and call him her boyfriend. What wasn't to love? He should be happy with her, she was almost everything he had ever wanted.
That, and he'd be an ungrateful arse if he said no. "Yeah. I am."
She nodded solemnly, and Ron swore he could see her eyes glisten with tears. "Then I'll try to be happy for you too," she said, her voice cracking.
He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. It wouldn't have mattered anyway because Hermione had already turned her back to him and was walking away. He watched until she turned the corner, trying to convince himself that he had told her the truth.
-Year Seven- The Tent
Rain pounded against the canvas tent, and the way the sound echoed through the air made the space feel hollow and empty. Ron could feel the weight of the locket around his neck, its chain digging into his skin. It felt almost like icy fingers clutching his throat, threatening to squeeze should he try to ignore it. He didn't think he could ignore it, even if he tried. The cold metal against his skin paired with its threatening voice inside his head almost commanded more attention than the slowly healing wound on his shoulder.
Ron was lying on his cot, covered in blankets that seemed to do nothing to keep him warm. He could hear Hermione flipping through a book across the room in her own bed, probably just as cold as he was.
"How's your shoulder?" she asked. To Ron, her voice sounded full of both pity and impatience, as if her real question was why he hadn't healed yet. What was taking him so long?
She doesn't actually care about your shoulder.
"It's fine," he snapped back.
He could feel the tension in the pause that followed, and even though he wasn't looking at her, he could imagine her jaw clenching, her cheeks reddening, and her eyes rolling.
"You don't need anything?" she eventually asked, her tone stiff and controlled.
Listen to her. She thinks you're pathetic. Needy. It disgusts her.
Instead of answering, Ron just shook his head. He knew she was watching him because he could feel her big brown eyes boring into him.
"Okay then."
He heard her book close, then the sound of her sliding out of bed. Ron turned to look just as she bent down to rummage through her bag. She faced her back to him, and Ron could make out the shape of her bum through her sweatpants. It sent a pang of longing through his entire body, and the locket wasted no time latching on to the opportunity to harass him further.
Go ahead and look, but don't kid yourself; you'll never touch.
He averted his eyes when she stood up.
"What are you doing, then?" she asked, now clutching a different stack of books under her arm.
"Nothing."
"Nothing?" she chirped. Her voice wavered as she lost control of keeping it neutral. "You know we have horcruxes to find."
She narrowed her eyes, and her cheeks ignited with red. Her hair seemed to expand and swarm her head. It wasn't just anger that did that to her. She looked electric whenever her passion was kindled, whether due to anger, schoolwork, elf-rights, or him.
He could rile her up, and Merlin, did he enjoy doing it. He was always up for helping her unleash that stored up tension through an argument. Often he wondered how else he could help her find that release. A few ideas came to mind.
Never going to happen.
"Are you seriously angry at me?" he asked, his tone sharp and scathing.
"You know what? Yeah, I am," she launched back.
"Well, sorry I'm injured, Hermione," he laughed, now sitting up in bed. "Let's not forget that you're the one who got me splinched."
"And let's not forget that I'm doing everything I can to help you heal."
She thinks you're a burden. A waste of her time.
"Okay, then stop complaining about me not doing anything when you know I can't."
Hermione crossed her arms and took a step closer. Ron willed himself to keep his eyes on her face, even though her shirt was too big, so the sleeves fell off her shoulder, and there was a patch of exposed skin above her waistband, reminding Ron of how soft her skin was. It had been so long since he touched her.
"Then stop staring at me like that," she said. "I can't tell if you're mad at me or if you want me to do something for you, and honestly, I'm kind of sick of cooking you dinner and not even hearing a thank you."
Don't you dare give her the satisfaction of apologizing.
"Seriously, what do you want from me?" she continued.
What a loaded question. Ron wanted everything from her — her time, her attention, and her body. When she removed his shirt to check his wound, he wanted her to remove his trousers too. He wanted her to crawl in bed with him and let him take her clothes off, piece by piece. He wanted to be strong enough to hold himself up so she could slide underneath him and wrap her legs around his hips. He wanted to touch her, kiss her, shag her, and then hold her afterward, fall asleep together, and wake up entangled with her.
Too bad she doesn't want you back.
"I don't want anything from you."
She softened her stare and took a step back. Maybe he was reading too much into her expression, but Ron could have sworn he saw a flash of disappointment on her face, as if she hoped there would be something he wanted from her.
You're imagining that.
"Good," she said, unknowingly confirming the locket's taunt, before turning away and leaving him there, in his bed, cold and alone.
-Year Seven- Shell Cottage
Although Ron might have looked peaceful and serene sitting so still, his mind was anything but calm. He closed his eyes and leaned against the back of the armchair, trying his best to fall asleep, but he was far from tired. His back ached, and he longed to get up and move, but it wasn't worth leaving Hermione's side.
It felt like he had been waiting days for her to wake up, and in that time, he had imagined the worst.
For one, he feared that she might not wake up at all, ever, and the empty hole that her screams had carved within him would be there for the rest of his life, like a scar across his heart.
Two, that she might wake up but never be the same, just like Neville's parents. Maybe she wouldn't remember him. Maybe she would, but she wouldn't understand when he told her he loved her.
And three, that she'd awake with clarity, forever haunted by the memory of what happened to her. Maybe she'd associate her trauma with the magical world, or with Ron himself, and she'd leave it all behind. He'd support her, of course, and he'd be thrilled she was okay, but he wouldn't be okay. He wasn't okay.
So he sat there, looking peaceful but panicking internally. He had no idea what to expect when and if Hermione woke up.
He was utterly shocked when she spoke to him.
"Hi, Ron," her voice snapped his eyes open. She was watching him, even smiling at him. For a moment, he thought he was dreaming.
She chuckled when he pinched himself.
"Oh, thank Merlin you're awake," he said when his pinch did nothing.
"Did you sleep here?"
"Yeah. I hope that's okay," he said, shifting uncomfortably in his chair.
"Have you left my side?" she asked, her eyes wide, questioning yet knowing.
He shook his head no, and his cheeks grew hot.
"Thank you," she whispered.
He smiled at her, and she smiled back. There was something so innocent about the interaction; it felt like they were just kids nervously admitting a crush. Her hand was lying on the edge of the bed, inches from his, and he didn't hesitate to reach for it and intertwine their fingers. She squeezed his hand back, although weakly, and he ran his thumb across her skin. Even bloodied and scarred, her skin was as soft as he remembered.
"I'm so glad you're okay," he said.
"Me too."
"Are you in pain?"
She nodded. "A little."
"I can have Fleur bring up some pain potion."
"Yeah, but not yet."
"In a bit, then."
They shared a look, an acknowledgement that they were alone, and pain potion could wait. Neither felt the need to give it words, they were awful with words, the king and queen of miscommunication, but there was nothing to misinterpret in a simple look.
"Can I hug you? Gently, of course."
Hermione nodded, and Ron inched forward on his chair to wrap his arms around her. Her head nestled into his shoulder, and he buried his face in her hair.
"How's Harry?" she asked, her voice muffled by his shoulder.
"He's fine," Ron answered. "Worried about you, of course."
She nodded. "And you?"
"What about me?"
"Are you okay?"
Ron sighed and pulled her closer. Was he okay? He had a few cuts and bruises, but that was nothing compared to his emotional toll. He helplessly listened to Bellatrix torture the woman he loved, hadn't slept since they arrived at Shell Cottage, and had spent days fearing she'd be gone. In those days, he learned exactly how much was at stake. He could still lose her.
He wasn't okay.
"Yes, I'm okay," he muttered, hoping that it would be true soon enough.
-After The Battle-
The Treehouse
Ron didn't mind the quiet of the treehouse; it was much better than the silence of the Burrow. At least the treehouse was supposed to be that way. He was leaning over the edge, forearms on a wooden beam, and through the leaves, he could make out the tall, lopsided house he called home. Before now, the Burrow always looked like it was bursting at the seams, about to collapse from the energy inside. His mum would say it was magic that held it together, not carpentry, but now it didn't matter. It seemed empty, and the magic was gone.
The treehouse was where Ron would always come when he needed to be alone. With six siblings, there was always someone yelling, laughing or crying. But not with five. Even though there were so many people back in the house, it was still too quiet. No one knew what to say, so they said nothing. Fred wouldn't have wanted that.
"Hi."
Ron startled at the voice. He had been too lost in his thoughts to hear anyone approaching but instantly relaxed when Hermione stepped up beside him, shoulder to shoulder. He smiled; in the days following Fred's death, Hermione was the only one who could elicit that reaction from him.
"I brought you something," she said.
He looked down at her hand to see that she was holding a plate of food — Mum's shepherd's pie, treacle tart, and pumpkin juice.
"Thank you, Hermione," he said as she handed him the plate. "I didn't want to go inside and talk to people."
"I know."
Ron turned away from the edge and slid to a seat, resting the plate on his lap. Hermione settled in beside him. "How'd you know where I was?"
She leaned her head against his shoulder. "I had a hunch."
Ron thought back to the last time they had been in the treehouse together — the previous summer before Harry arrived. He didn't even remember the first time he brought her here, but through all those summers, the treehouse became a place where they could just be. They could do whatever they wanted here, yet not once had she rested her head on his shoulder.
He looped his free arm around her, encouraging her to lean in, and pressed a kiss to her hair. He had always wanted to do that, and it was so strange to be able to now. If the circumstances were better, he'd like to do so much more.
"Will you stay?" he asked.
"As long as you need me to."
The longer they sat there in comfortable silence, leaning against one another and eating from the same plate, the more he wished they could just stay there forever. It was the perfect place to hide from his grief.
Maybe he shouldn't be hiding from grief, but the pain of Fred's loss only accentuated what he felt for Hermione. It was about time he had something to be happy about, even if that happiness was confined within the walls of the treehouse. After all, he had a feeling that the reality of Fred's death would hit him like a ton of bricks as soon as he left.
So maybe he'd just stay.
"What's on your mind?" asked Hermione.
She was on his mind but based on her smirk, she knew that. He must have been staring at her. That had been happening a lot lately.
"Do you really want to know?"
"Of course."
He'd never told her how he felt, but he was in the treehouse, where everything was perfect, and nothing could go wrong. Now was as good a time as any.
"I'm thinking about how much I love you."
She met his gaze and he watched those warm brown eyes grow wide. "Really?"
"Yes," he said, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "You don't have to say it back, I know it's soon—"
"I love you too," she interrupted, leaning her head against his hand. "Always have."
Even though a world of mourning awaited Ron outside of the treehouse, he couldn't help but smile. Hermione could do that for him; she was just like the magic that once held his house together.
"Brilliant," he said as he leaned in for a kiss, one that she happily returned.
He loved that they could do this now.
It was an odd feeling, being so genuinely elated and grief-stricken at the same time, but he simply couldn't feel any other way; it was the truth. And at this point, if anyone deserved the truth, it was Hermione.

Mamihlapinatapai - (noun, Yagán origin) a silent acknowledgement and understanding between two people, who are both wishing or thinking the same thing (and are both unwilling to initiate)
A Summer’s Ball  |  Kingdom of Gu, present day
The next few days were just as tumultuous as the first, Chan and Korenna slowly progressing from treating each other with complete silence, to short-lived bickering, to finally being able to hold a civil conversation for at least a few minutes.  You escorted them to more ceremony preparation meetings, then to councils with the foreign affairs ministers, the historians, the priests, each one stressing how this union would be a stepping stone in your two kingdoms’ relations and they should think of it as a huge honor.  You couldn’t help but feel sorry for the both of them, being reminded over and over how their lives were simply a means to an end, to be controlled at the whim of their fathers’ aspirations.
A turning point finally came when the three of you visited the city surrounding the palace grounds, the prince refusing to miss his weekly visit to the village market.  Chan loved to interact with his people, to support their businesses, to hear their grievances, to show he cared.  You followed behind the two of them as you walked through the plaza lined with stalls, Chan waving to each of the merchants, Korenna watching him with a mix of reservation and admiration.
“Your people seem to be thriving.  I wish I could say the same about our villages.”
You eyed Chan, knew he was forcing himself to hold back a biting remark, likely about how if Lajor’s people were currently suffering, it was the monarchy’s fault.  He finally came up with a question, trying his best to keep the conversation going.
“Have you brought up your concerns to your father?”
“I’ve tried, but he doesn’t want to listen to anything I have to say.  All he cares about is what he thinks is right, no matter who suffers for it.”
Chan nodded solemnly, “I can understand that.”
Korenna gave him a somber look and appeared to have something more she wanted to say, but was promptly dragged off by a small child wanting to show her his father’s bakery stall.
You nudged Chan’s arm.  “See, she’s not so bad, Your Highness.  If you give her a chance.”
He started in the direction of the princess, turning to walk backwards and smile at you with his arms out in a lighthearted shrug, “If you say so.”
***
That evening the king was hosting a ball, to celebrate the engagement of the prince.  You’d helped Chan dress, his midnight blue velvet ensemble and dark hair set off against the silver crown he wore making him look more like a deity of the moon than an earthly prince.  Then you had gone to assist Korenna.  You couldn’t deny how beautiful she looked as you watched her from across the room, her champagne colored gown and perfectly curled blonde hair standing out against the relatively muted colors worn by the other attendees.  She was standing away from Chan, talking amongst a group of noblemen’s wives and other high powered ladies, but her eyes never strayed far from his back as he talked with Minho and some other knights around a wooden table in the corner.
“You look quite stunning tonight, Y/n.  Purple is definitely your color,” came a deep voice on your left, and you turned to see Prince Felix approaching you, his small frame clothed in a breathtaking deep red suit.  The younger brother of Prince Minho, Felix had the sunniest personality of anyone you’d ever met, quite contrasting to his voice but in perfect harmony with the bright smile he flashed as he reached your side.  It had been several months since you’d last seen him, his studies as apprentice to your kingdom’s Chief Healer taking him to the academy in the highlands far away from the city.
“Prince Felix!” you exclaimed, arms reaching to pull him into a quick hug.  “I could say the same for you; that red suits you perfectly, Your Grace.”
Felix laughed, releasing you from his hold.  You and he had been close friends since childhood, ever since, at the age of 5, he’d stepped on the hem of your skirt and you’d pushed him into a mud puddle, causing guards to rush over and attempt to have you arrested.  His mother and the queen had stepped in, calming the guards as you remorsefully reached out your hand to help him up only to be pulled down into the mud next to him, the both of you dissolving into fits of laughter.
“I’ve missed the city.  And it seems the city has missed me for all the excitement it’s spun up in my absence.”  His eyes followed your gaze to where Korenna had made her way over to Chan, and watched as she led him out to the quiet balcony overlooking the gardens.  “How are you taking all of this?”
“I’m fine, Your Grace.  What reason would I have not to celebrate such a momentous occasion?”
Felix fixed you with a knowing look, but dropped the subject, content to stand with you at the edge of the dance floor.
“Y/n, I thought I told you not to let Christopher and the princess out of your sight,” came King Bang’s voice from behind you.  “The last thing we need is for them to get into one of their verbal sparring matches with the whole court present.”
You turned, lowering your head to the king.  “Of course, Your Majesty.”
You left Felix next to the king, his expression turned to one of distaste at his new company, and walked quietly out onto the balcony where the couple was talking.
They were standing closer together than you had ever seen them, leaning forward against the railing’s edge.  They seemed to be deep in conversation, Korenna actually reaching her hand up to place it on Chan’s back.  It didn’t feel right watching them without their knowledge, so you cleared your throat loudly, causing both their heads to snap up.  Chan looked slightly embarrassed, his head tilting forward, but Korenna’s expression was almost unreadable.  She stood staring at you for a few  seconds, then pursed her lips, nodded her head to Chan, and walked back into the main ballroom as you approached him.
“I apologize, Your Highness, I didn’t mean to interrupt.”
“Trust me, Y/n, you didn’t,” came Chan’s tired reply.  You wanted to know if she had upset him, to know how you could comfort him.
“What were you discussing?”
A soft song started to make its way out from the half-open door.  Chan looked up at you, completely ignoring your question.
“Dance with me?”
Several seconds went by in silence.  He reached out his hand, eyes imploring you to say something, to say yes.
This was dangerous.  You couldn’t think of a worse position to be caught in, dancing with a betrothed man far above your stature.  But you also couldn’t think of a way to say no to him.
You took his hand and he pulled you flush against him immediately.  You tried to resist the urge to place your head on his chest, but the feeling of being in his arms was too much, made you feel so safe.  So you laid your cheek there and felt a low hum come up through his chest.  It was quiet for a while, the two of you simply swaying back and forth, not doing any particular dance.  You felt his head rise from where it had been resting on top of your head.
“I’ve always thought you were beautiful, but you look gorgeous tonight Y/n.”
“You told me that earlier, Your Highness.”
“I know.  I wanted to tell you again.”
Then he placed his head back down and you continued to spin in slow circles until the song ended.  He brought your movements to a stop, taking your hand and kissing the top of it as he leaned forward in an exaggerated bow, “Thank you for the dance, my lady.”
You looked at him with a small smile.  “You’re welcome, Your Highness.”
He returned your smile, turned, and walked back towards the party.  You felt your chest tighten, feeling a little too much like your dance had been his way of saying goodbye.
Thinly Veiled Threats  |  Kingdom of Gu, 6 years ago
“Watch out!”
You turned towards the direction of the voice just in time to see Chan break through the wooden fence in front of you, thrown off his horse by the force of the lance he just took to the chest.
The prince had just turned seventeen, which made him eligible to compete in the annual Four Kingdom Competition, where knights, lords, and even royalty from the continent’s four greatest kingdoms met to determine who among them would be crowned victor in a series of strength tests.  His father had of course insisted he enter on his first eligible year, which had led to the activity you were currently engaged in, training a boy who was used to classrooms, libraries, and diplomacy lessons the intricacies of hand to hand combat.  The tasks ranged from archery to sword fighting, wrestling to jousting, and while Chan knew his way around a broadsword and shield, it was clear that the latter of those was not going to be Chan’s strong suit.
You walked calmly towards where he sat on the ground, knowing he would only be more embarrassed by any attempts to rush to his aide.  He was sitting up, so you could tell he wasn’t badly injured, but his right hand still stretched across his abdomen to clutch at his left side.  He’d been hit there at least three times now, and if you had to guess, what was once a bad bruise was more likely a patch of broken skin at this point.
Voices floated around you as you pushed your way through the small crowd that had gathered around him, many asking the prince if he was alright or giving unsolicited advice on how to avoid the outcome he seemed to be cursed with.  You picked up on the voice of a squire, one who served the boy who had knocked Chan down most recently, as he nudged the side of the older boy’s arm.
“You could have gone a little easier on him, you know.  His mother just died.”
Great.  Just what you needed; a physically and emotionally wounded Chan.
“Alright, give him some room everyone.  His Highness is fine; go back to your own practicing.”  You shooed away the stragglers and knelt so Chan could wrap his free arm around your neck, hoisting him up and slowly making your way to the infirmary tent.  Leaning him against the side of a cot, you reached for the clean cloth and distilled vodka; this was going to hurt like a bitch, but Chan could take it.
“You’re pulling back too much and too early, it leaves your side vulnerable,” you said, carefully easing off his ripped tunic so you could tend to his wound.
He stayed silent for a few moments, fingers gripping harshly against your shoulder as you cleaned the cut and wrapped a bandage around his midsection.
“I…,” he trailed off, seeming to struggle to find the words he was looking for.  “I’m a coward.  I’m a failure and a coward and everyone knew it except me, until just now.”
His words knocked the wind out of you.  You knew he was ashamed (entirely unnecessarily) when he couldn’t hold back the tears at his mother’s funeral while his father maintained his perfectly stoic expression (that heartless bastard), knew he was self-conscious about his fighting abilities, but you’d never heard him express that insecurity so directly before.
“Your Highness,” you spoke softly but forcefully, hands cupping his face to make him look you in the eye, “you are one of the bravest men I know.  You have one of the hardest burdens a person can bear on your shoulders, have had it since you were born, and you carry it with grace and dignity and compassion.  You inspire me and countless others every day with your strength and generosity.  You are not a coward.”
He looked back at you, and suddenly you felt yourself being engulfed in his embrace, his legs parting to pull you close to him.  He wrapped his arms tightly around your chest, his head pressing into the crook of your neck.  Slowly you brought your hands up and began to rub small circles on his bare back.  This was the most emotion he’d shown since that night you stood beside his mother’s bed, watching as he held her hand and whispered all the things he wanted to tell her one last time.  You were a little overwhelmed, but mostly happy, happy that maybe he was feeling again.  Eventually you heard his quiet voice next to your ear, “Thank you, Y/n.”
Then he released you from his hold, donned his shirt, and walked back to the jousting pitch.  You watched him go, until a deliberate cough came from behind you, shattering your reverie.
“I suppose he’s lucky to have you.”  The words spilled from the king’s mouth, his signature gravelly voice seeming to chase all other sound from the tent.
“My apologies, Your Majesty, I hadn’t noticed you were here,” you spoke, bending into a curtsey.
“It seems it is quite easy for the two of you not to notice others when you think you are alone.”
You blinked, unsure of where the king was going with his remarks.  He sidled up to you, close enough you could hear him at a whisper.
“I may have owed your family a debt, but that has been repaid ten-fold.  I know my son, know he would never be led astray of his responsibilities unless you gave credence to those thoughts in his head, fed his intimate physical desires.  So do not delude yourself into thinking you can take him from me, little servant girl.  And if he ever does come to me, asking me to set aside our laws, our traditions, so he can marry you, I’ll know what you have done, and you will never see the light of day again.  Do I make myself clear?”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
Satisfied with your response, he left you there, his words staining your mind like the bloody cloth you clutched in your hands.
The Hunt  |  Kingdom of Gu, present day
How he managed to get his father to agree to this you had no idea.  But Chan always was very convincing when he needed to be.
You were preparing for a day’s long hunt.  In all honesty it was an excellent idea; it would give Chan space to be himself after having been shut inside the palace for two weeks, preparing for his impending nuptials.  Normally this was one of your favorite activities to do with Chan and the knights; getting to ride, to spend time in the woods, maybe use your bow.  But the one condition of the king’s agreement had been that Korenna was going too.
She’d been different with you, with everyone really, since that night on the balcony, avoiding attempts to make small talk and speaking harshly when she made requests.  You didn’t want your relationship with her to turn sour, seeing as you’d soon be serving her for the rest of her life (and yours), so you held your tongue and pressed on with your duties.
Chan’s black courser and your chestnut palfrey were saddled, and you were in the midst of preparing a well-tempered white mare for the princess.
“Good morning, Y/n.”
You looked up, seeing the dark head of hair and upside down smirk belonging to Prince Minho smiling down at you as he leaned over your kneeling frame.  “Good morning, Your Grace.”
You were not as close to Minho as you were to Felix, but you had always gotten along well, your similar sense of humor and affinity for archery solidifying your friendship.
He offered his hand to pull you up, which you accepted.  “I’m glad you will be joining us on this outing, Y/n.  I’m not sure I could handle Chan and Korenna on my own, even with 5 other knights to accompany me.”
You hummed in agreement, finishing attaching the bridle around the mare’s head.  “I’m not sure you could either, Your Grace.”
Minho let out his signature high pitched laugh as the rest of your party approached, and the two of you maneuvered to the front of the pack as you set off towards the nearby woods.  You all rode in silence for a while, riding not typically being an activity that required much talking, until you heard Korenna speak from her position next to Chan in the middle of your group.
“So, who is the best at the strength tasks of the Four Kingdom Competition?”
A strange question to ask so out of the blue, but you supposed it was somewhat relevant to the situation at hand.
“His Highness is an excellent swordsman,” you replied, looking back slightly in their direction.
“Sir Jeongin has given us all a run for our money in the wrestling ring,” you heard a voice from the back say.  He must be one of the other knights in your party.
Chan replied next, “Minho is a skilled horseman, beats me in the joust nearly every time.”
Minho’s eyebrows rose up at that, smirking as he rounded out the answers, “And Y/n here is an expert marksman.  She’s the best I’ve ever seen with a bow.”
You thanked him mentally, hoping he could read it in the look on your face.  You weren’t about to boast about your own talents to the princess, but it was nice to know that she was now aware you weren’t just some lovesick girl who followed the prince around, that you actually took your responsibilities seriously.
“Really?  And who taught you about archery, Y/n?”  You thought you heard a touch of menace in her normally high pitched voice, but brushed it off.
“I’ve had many teachers, Your Grace, but the first was my father.”
“How very… non-traditional.  Where is your father now?  I’d love to meet him.”
You saw Chan and Minho tense in their saddles, well aware of what your answer would be.
“He died, Your Grace.”
“Oh,” said Korenna, her voice noticeably softer now, “I apologize for bringing up a sore subject.”
“It’s alright, Your Grace,” you replied.  “It was a long time ago.  You couldn’t have known.”
An uncomfortable silence fell on the group then, but luckily your first planned stop was not far ahead.  A small grove of trees surrounding a clearing was where you usually began the hunt, splitting off in different directions and meeting back there before sundown.  But because you had the princess with you today, it was a more laid back affair, and you’d planned to have a picnic of sorts before you continued in earnest.
Everyone set about unpacking the sacks that carried your meal for the day.  You uncorked your canteen, taking a sip before heaving an exasperated sigh.
You’d forgotten to bring extra water for the horses.
You called over to Chan, where he stood spreading out a blanket for Korenna to sit on.
“Your Highness, I’m going to the creek to get water for the horses.”
Chan looked up and you could see the smile on his face from where you stood across the grove.  “I’ll go with you!” he said happily, only to have his arm tugged back by the princess next to him.
“You are not a servant, Chan.  I’m sure Y/n can go by herself.”
Your loud conversation had caught the attention of the rest of the group, who were all looking over at you in interest.  You were surprised by her bluntness, but she did have a point.  “Her Grace is right, I don’t need you to accompany me, Your Highness.  I simply wanted to tell you where I was going.”
Chan gave a side glare at Korenna, but agreed.  “Fine, but you shouldn’t go alone.  Sir Jeongin - “
A tall boy, clad in the red, black, and gold uniform of your knights, walked over to the prince.   He was no more than eighteen, must have only just taken his oath.  You remembered his name from the earlier conversation about the strength tests, impressed he was making a name for himself so early.
“ - please accompany Y/n to the stream to fetch water for the horses.”
“Of course, Your Highness.”
So the two of you set off, leaving the rest to their meals.  You didn’t really need a knight for protection, but your heart warmed at the gesture of Chan not wanting you to go alone.  You arrived at the bank of the creek and began filling some extra pouches you had brought with water.
“It’s so much quieter here,” Jeongin commented absentmindedly.
Despite the sound of the water running, you agreed it did seem calmer here than in the grove you came from.  As you knelt by the edge of the stream, you noticed large patches of grass surrounding some nearby trees had been pressed down.  Curious, you walked over to the area, observing the singed ground and muddy boot prints on the rocks, telltale signs of human presence.  You hadn’t run into anyone else on your walk over, but maybe there were some others out riding today.  Raising your head, you called to your companion, “Sir Jeongin!  Were there any other hunting parties out today?”
“Not that I know of, Miss,” Jeongin replied, his expression revealing he was rather confused by your question.
You looked around again, and that was when you noticed the torn piece of blue fabric latched to a jagged branch on a nearby tree.  Your blood ran cold and you grabbed Jeongin’s arm, breaking into a run.
“We need to get back to them.  Now.”
You’d made it about half way back to the grove when you heard a scream, you and Jeongin sprinting to reach the clearing.  But when you arrived, the scene was entirely not what you expected.
Your mind had immediately gone to the Lajorans when you spotted that piece of cloth on the tree.  But here you stood, watching men clad in your own colors raise their swords to clash with the group of knights who’d accompanied you and the royals.  Your eyes frantically searched among the chaos, looking for Chan, but before you could spot him you noticed Korenna, hiding alone behind a large rock at the edge of the treeline.  You pulled Jeongin back behind a tree, gesturing in her direction.
“Do you see the princess over there?  You’re going to grab her, get on a horse, and ride back to the palace now.”
Jeongin was looking at you with wide, scared eyes; his mouth was open, not making a sound.
You shook his shoulder.  “Sir Jeongin, do you understand me?  Do not look back at us, just take the princess and get her to safety.  I need you to do this.”
Your words seemed to finally reach him, and he set his mouth in a straight line.  “Yes, I can do that.”
“Good.  Go.  And don’t look back.”
He left your spot behind the tree and you turned back to the action in the grove, still trying to find the prince.  Finally your eyes landed on two men standing back to back, swords flying as they blocked the attack of about 6 different men.
Chan and Minho.
You started towards them, reaching for your own sword, when you spotted someone perched in a tree right outside the circle of men.  The attackers started to pull back from around the two princes, and you could see exactly who the archer had in his line of sight.
You screamed his name, sprinting to cross the clearing and threw your body in front of him, arms outstretched.
You felt a sharp pain in your left shoulder as you fell against Chan’s chest, his arms coming up to catch you.
“Y/n!  Y/n!”
Trumpets were blaring from the direction of the castle as Minho dragged Chan back, still desperately clutching you in his arms.  The attackers were dispersing and you heard the sound of a voice saying “Chris”; it took a moment for you to realize it was your own.
“I’m here, Y/n, I’m here.  Just hold on please.  You’re going to be okay, just please hold on.”
The last thing you saw were his eyes as your vision went black.
Of Flower Buds and Roots  |  Kingdom of Gu, 16 years ago
“Mother, when will they be here?”
You were standing in the open-air courtyard at the front of the palace, your mother’s hands on your shoulders.  The two of you had moved to the palace a few years ago, when your mother had gotten a job as a servant there after the war ended.  Today, you were told, would be the day you were to start your position there, as personal attendant to the young crown prince.
“I’m sure soon darling.  Remember we never rush royalty.”
As you waited, your eye was caught by a small boy standing with a large scary looking man.  He looked to be about your age and was holding a tiny bouquet of wildflowers in his hand.  The man seemed to be trying to take them away, but the boy clutched them to his chest.  A woman who you thought you’d seen before approached them, glaring at the man, who backed away from the boy as she took his hand.  Then, they started walking towards you.
Your mother tightened her grip on your shoulders, bending into a curtsey and pushing you down with her.  “It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty.”
“The pleasure is ours,” came the queen’s pleasant voice.  She knelt down between you and the boy.
“You must be Y/n.  This is my son Christopher, the prince.  You will serve as his attendant.”
You stared at the boy, his eyes even with yours, hair mussed and shirt covered in dirt.
“He doesn’t look like a prince.  He looks like me”
“Y/n!” your mother gasped, the queen chuckling slightly and calming your mother with a hand on her arm.
“You’re right, he might not look like one yet.  But it’s going to be your job to help him become one.  Do you think you can do that?”
You pondered her question and finally said, “Yes, Your Majesty.”
She smiled and stepped aside, placing her hands on Chan’s back and pushing him forward.
“Hi Y/n!” the boy said excitedly.  “My name’s Chris.  Or Chan.  Either’s fine!  I brought you these flowers!  I thought they might look pretty in your hair.”
He extended his tiny fist holding the flowers and you took one from the bunch, pulling back your hair and putting the flower behind your ear.
Chan’s face immediately lit up in the brightest smile you’d ever seen, his eyes crinkling cutely.  “I was right!”
From that moment on, you decided there was nothing you wouldn’t do to see that smile on his face.

So in honour of the upcoming milestone of 300 (still shocked tbh) I am posting this completely self-indulgent Dio (the one and only goth king) fic. It's short and I always keep these things open-ended because you never know. I'm dedicating this to my fellow -former-goth/emo teen @mouthymandalorian
Literally talked about how both of us would have been ALL OVER Dio as teens and because of this we are fucking kindred lol.
Dio x F!Reader
Pairing: Dio x F!Reader
Word Count: 1.8K
Warnings: Language, Smut 18+ dirty talk, Oral-female receiving (dio begging you)
-------------------------------
It wasn't the classiest of establishments, but the music was loud, and the drinks were cheap.
It was a busy night and you kept to yourself - it wasn’t hard having perfected the death glare in case anyone got too close.
You noticed a small group of girls crowding a tall lean guy across the bar. Even though the music drowned out everything around you, you could almost hear the pretentious tone he was speaking with.
Dio.
You knew him, everyone knew him. The only person living life at the ‘next level’, in his opinion of course. It’s almost annoying how attracted you are to him, tall and lean - that neck. Rings and earrings adorning his golden skin, reflecting brightly when hit with a light. Annoyingly drawing your eye to him each time.
Even with all of the black clothing, all of the accessories, the long black jacket, the circles under his eyes - you wanted him. You saw him talking to a group of eager women, looking almost bored. You could see him - taking note of each of them, deciding which one was worth his time, none of them ever were.
His dark eyes flash up to you then and he smirks, expecting you to turn away shyly like all the other girls do. His gaze was intense and it shamed you slightly to admit that it sent a bolt of arousal straight through you but you didn’t show it. You held his gaze, your face the very picture of boredom. You raise an eyebrow at him in challenge when he didn’t look away and you knew then you had him. He smiled slyly, looking back to the girls vying for his attention. You turned, giving him your back, smiling at the face he'd surely make to realize your disinterest in him.
Girls were a game to him, a hunt - he was the same to you. It all comes back around.
You felt him slide in next to you as you watched the crowd- could feel his eyes burning into you from your periphery. With you sitting on the stool - he towered over you, taking up so much space.
You ignored him - keeping your eyes focused on the crowd and your drink.
“What’s your name?” He said it directly into your ear, much closer than necessary. You told him - without turning to face him. You could feel the electricity coming off him in waves, trying to get you to look at him. You resisted - you wanted to see if he would get tired of it and leave. He didn’t.
“I’m Dio, what are you drinking? Let me get you another.” You felt him turn to get the bartender's attention.
You finally turned to him, he was swimming in his jacket and you wanted to crawl into it with him. He smelled like cigarettes and a spicy cologne, hairspray and liquor, not too strong but strangely appealing. You finished the rest of your drink in a large swallow and put your empty glass on the counter.
You could see him looking down at your cleavage, licking his lips at the gap between the dress and the lacy bra you wore. He saw you looking and it didn’t deter him. He drank what you thought was absinthe as he continued to look you up and down - you had to fight the urge to roll your eyes. Of course he’d be drinking absinthe.
You kept your face neutral and let him drink his fill, not failing to notice the girls at the other end of the bar staring daggers at you.
“I don’t think your friends like me.” You looked up at him, subtly gesturing to the girls watching your conversation with an acute intensity.
“Oh they’re not my friends, they just want my attention.” His smugness would normally have turned you off, but you couldn’t help but be attracted.
“And what do you want?” You swirled your drink as you licked your lip, mirroring his earlier gesture back at him.
“I want your attention.” He leaned in and you pulled back smiling.
“Did you think I would just give it to you?” You laughed as you drank your drink in a couple of gulps, the burning in your throat grounding you. You walked away - knowing in your heart he’d follow you. He did not disappoint.
You felt him grab your hand as he caught up to you and pull you towards him, crowding you, curling his body to surround you as he spoke into your ear.
“I like the chase, and I can make it worth your while. Let me taste you.” he placed an open-mouthed kiss at your pulse point. You let him work himself up against your skin before pushing him away with a laugh.
“I’m not convinced - you gotta make me believe you really want it.” you pulled back enough to see his expression, his eyes were dark. He was enjoying this.
“Believe me, I want it - I want to make you cum on my tongue.” He made to kiss you again and you once again pulled away. You briefly looked to the girls at the bar and if looks could kill, you’d be a bloody heap on the floor.
“Why don’t you go ask one of them - I’m sure any one of them would let you do whatever you want.” you kept your hand on his chest - keeping him at bay. He looked back briefly, before turning his attention back to you.
“I’m not interested in them, I want you.” His hands were at your waist - pulling you close to him, it was so tempting to let him kiss you but you were enjoying his desperation.
“Who says I want you?” you laughed in his ear - biting it to get him really riled up. He groaned and lowered his hands to roughly grab your ass through your skirt.
“I think you do - I think you’re intrigued and curious, and I think you’re going to let me lick - what I have no doubt - is a very pretty pussy.” You let him get close but quickly grabbed his jaw - holding him a hair's breadth away from your mouth.
“It is very pretty - but it’s not for you.” You licked his lip before shoving him firmly away from you. You had a bold idea - quickly making sure no one was really paying attention you swiftly reached under your dress to pull your panties off. His eyes widened as he watched you quickly shimmy out of them. You threw them into his face and you saw him shudder.
“That’s as close as you’re going to get.” you walked away from him to head up to the mezzanine of the club you were in. He didn’t follow you right away - standing there clutching your - very noticeably wet - panties to his face. He was rapturous and it took him a couple of minutes to reign in his excitement.
You kept an eye on him as you made your way up, after a few minutes he stalked his way up the stairs two at a time to reach you. The look on his face was dangerous in its intensity. When his eyes locked on you, it was like butterflies burst in your stomach. How far were you going to push him?
As far as you could.
You looked over the balcony at the crowd dancing below. The second bar up there was closed off, leaving it empty.
He pressed himself against your back, the proof of his excitement straining against his dark jeans and the curve of your ass. His arms resting on either side of you - blocking you in.
“You can’t tell me you’re not excited- your panties are soaked, let me lick it.” He bit at your neck as you surveyed the crowd.
“Beg. Beg to lick my pussy.” You turned to look up at him, head tilted playfully although your tone was anything but. His pupils were blown wide, enjoying this way more than he’d care to admit.
“Please baby, please - let me lick it. Let me kiss your cunt. I want it so badly - look how bad I want it…” he guided your hand to press it against his cock. It took everything in you not to gasp.
“Fine, kneel.” His eyes widened and you swore you felt his cock twitch under your palm. He quickly got down onto his knees and kissed your belly through the dress.
“You want me to do it right here?” He was smiling up at you, asking the question even as he lifted your dress and brought your leg up to rest on his shoulder. You nodded, smiling.
“You said you wanted it, you even begged like a good boy. Let’s see how fast you can make me cum.” You grabbed his hair and pushed it towards your aching cunt, spreading your lips open for him with the other hand. He moaned at the sight.
His tongue was heaven.
His hands grabbed at your ass to get closer to you, sucking your clit into his mouth. You moaned at his enthusiasm, you almost hoped he wouldn’t be good at it but he was. You ran your fingers through his hair, holding him in place as you ground yourself onto his tongue.
“Oh god right there-“ you moaned, you were close already. The fact that anyone could come up was exciting you even more. You felt filthy and powerful as you looked down at him, his dark eyes locked on you.
You felt him slide a finger into you and you threw your head back with a whimper. The wet glide of his tongue, steadily sliding over- again and again. The rhythm of it driving you into a frenzy.
Your grip on his hair tightened and he moaned onto your skin, the vibration throwing you over the edge. You came with a moan, clenching around his finger. Drenching him in your arousal.
He licked you until you pulled him away from over-stimulation. His face was that of the cat who ate the canary. All smiles and bravado as you pulled your dress down.
“Was it everything you wanted?” You let out a sigh as he got back on his feet, adjusting himself in his pants.
“Best thing I’ve ever tasted.” You let him kiss you then, tasting yourself on his tongue. His hands grabbing at your ass again. You pushed him away and his eyes were unfocused, he was ravenous.
You said nothing as you dragged him out of the bar by the collar, his shirt bunched in your hand.
He followed you like a puppy and you smiled the whole time.

“everything alright in there, l/n?”
that was mina, stood outside the stall. her feet shuffling along as she hummed a faintly recognizable radio song.
you croaked out a small ‘yes’ before explaining that it’d be better if they went on ahead without you.
momo’s worried voice suddenly interrupted. “you don’t need a pad, do you? i could make one for you right away, just a m—“
“no it’s alright! i have one, thank you though!” you quickly stated.
after reassuring them, the girls slowly shuffled out. soon, you were left in pure silence and quickly, a choked gulp left your lips.
as you lifted your skirt, the tears began to build at the rim of your lashes, finding the freshly parted skin on the sides of your thighs disgusting. each burned with irritation and droplets of blood dotted the area.
how many times were you going to do this to yourself? the hives were already building like what you’d of a mosquito attack.
this was you; stuck in a stall, completely immobilized by their own body.
a ding cut through your thoughts.
new message from shouto!! <3: hey, i’m outside the school. just tell me when you’re here
you later found him; hair taken by the breeze, allowing for strands to brush up against his delicate eyes. he shifted in his place, one foot shifting back. shouto squinted slightly against the dawning sky, turning his torso and glancing up to see his girlfriend at the top of the UA steps.
in juxtaposition of his beauty, you took your bag and placed it in front of you in attempt to hide yourself.
once you met half way down the steps, he gave you one of his award winning smiles. “hi lovely.” his large hands were immediately placed over yours. “ready?”
“mhm.” you hummed, taking your hand out of his for a moment before pushing your sweater up to your palms.
you took his hands again, like nothing had happened.
the boy looked at you for a moment, and you hoped he hadn't felt how dry your hands truly were.
"are you cold?" he asked and you shook your head in protest to his offering of his jacket.
"oh no, i just like my sleeves like this."
as the both of you walked along, shouto had understood your lack of conversation for being less social today (which he understood, you were a pair of introverts, after all). he naturally began to take lead in conversation, landing on the topic of developing his right side in training more.
and as much as you’d like to pay him mind, you were too self aware of your surroundings at the moment. shouto had discovered a small field behind the dorms a week back and had suggested a study picnic for your next test. the idea was great, and you didn't hesitate in agreeing. until now.
your thighs brushed against the tall grass. the stimulation hurt, sending a shiver up your spine, along with the urge to itch. it was a taunting, only further causing greater inflammation. you accidentally squeezed shouto's hand and a faint moan left your lips as you tried to suppress it.
“y/n?”
"i'm sorry—"
"don't apologize. are you ok?" he looked back at you, worry etching his usually graceful face ever so slightly. he observed you from head to toe.
in actuality, the eczema was only one of the things you've found yourself to be insecure of. shouto and you have never been so intimate as for him to have seen you completely bare. it terrified you to disappoint the one person you've wanted to please so badly.
what if i'm not what you're looking for?
shouto's face contorted into a look of fear and in the moment he took your cheeks, you realized he'd wiped away the tears that'd fallen from your eyes.
"what's wrong, love?"
a forced sigh escaped your lips, with it, all your exertion. "i don't know. i-i don't want to.. i don't want to disappoint you."
"how could you do that?" he chuckled a bit, "where's this coming from?"
"shouto can we please go to the blanket? please?" you were already rushing to get past him when he tightened his grip on your hand, scooping you up in one swift motion.
in a moment, he was setting you down on the blanket with the delicacy of a flower. he was as silent as a ghost as he moved himself in front of you. you peered at him, mouth agape as he dusted grass off your skirt.
"i noticed just a moment ago. are you allergic to grass?" the boy was visibly trying to hide his growing concern, the thought of him putting his significant other in danger creeping into his thoughts.
"n-no. i just... i have eczema." your statement was but a whisper as you nervously inched your skirt over your thighs, "i forgot lotion at home and... i know it looks bad." the fabric did nothing to hide the hives. your skin was ultra sensitive, and red by the rasp it'd taken just a few seconds ago.
there was silence for what seemed an eternity. he's too grossed out to reply.
a big, chortled laugh escaped your boyfriend's lips and he fell back a bit, quickly stabilizing himself. a small 'oh my god' was breathed out into the air.
"what's so funny?"
"no it's just, y-you're talking to a guy with a scar on his eye."
you blinked once. then twice.
shouto tried to hide his big smile, shrugging as he reached for his backpack. you watched him quizzically, ransacking your brain for an answer. he doesn't care? at all?
"you don't.. care?"
"i care about as much as i care about bakugou's routine, empty death threats." he deadpanned, bringing out an item. "may i?"
in his hands, a travel-sized bottle of lotion. "mhm."
he gently took your left ankle in his hands, lathering the cool lotion into the skin, making sure not to over massage the red areas. his fingers gently caressed the sides of your thighs, completely concentrated on his work.
"i used to get scared meeting new people," he whispered, still, immersed on your skin. "i knew they'd never ask, but it was always in the back of their minds... the question, 'what happened to you?' on their faces."
his head of hair faced you, and you couldn't help but place a gentle kiss in his locks, leaning down to his pillowy, soft head and staying there.
shouto stopped for a second, a small blush on his face. "... you're the first to... accept me without questions. thank you."
if shouto had looked up in that moment he’d see his own work; a flustered you with tears of joy coating their cheeks. “no, shouto. thank you.”

when ethan nestor had invited you to a frat party, you’d laughed in his face. you knew that he was a member of data data data, but he wasn’t the type that made it his whole personality. as far as you’d observed, he wasn’t the partying type, either, but there he was, texting you the house address.
“so you’ll come tonight? it’s going to be a pretty big thing- a lot of people coming. you should be able to walk right in, but if anyone gives you shit just tell them you’re with me,” he said, a slight smirk playing on his lips. you and ethan hadn’t been talking for long; technically, you hadn’t even known that he’d existed two weeks ago.
when ethan had first sauntered up to you in physical sciences, that same smirk painting his face, you’d picked up on the underlying chemistry right away. he was a flirt by nature, but he seemed to play it up even more around you- the brunette boy had asked for your number the first day you met, and you’d been talking almost constantly since. he was funny and sweet and extremely charismatic, and he made your heart flip in your chest with the smallest glance. the two of you hadn’t hung out alone yet, so this party felt like a big deal.
or, at least, that's what you’d thought.
when you showed up at the front door of the frat house loud, bass-filled music was already shaking the window panes in their frames, and you could hear what sounded like a hundred different voices all talking over each other. ethan hadn’t been kidding when he said that it was a big party; at least half of your year was here, plus the older and younger students interspersed throughout the throngs of people as well. as you made your way to the kitchen, ethan was nowhere to be found. you felt as if all eyes were on you as you started to pour a drink, and dimly, you wondered if people could tell that you didn’t belong.
however, most of your anxious thoughts had been subdued after the first solo cup of vodka lemonade, and you were now well through your second. the music pounding throughout the house felt as if it had infiltrated your veins, filling them with a warm, buzzing sensation that loosened your limbs. at some point, a guy had come up to chat with you. then another. you weren't sure how many times you’d given out your snapchat tonight, but it had been a lot, and you were about to do it again.
the guy you were currently talking to introduced himself as danny. he was some sort of business major, much like every other guy that you’d spoken with tonight, and was very clearly trying to hit on you. even through the alcohol-induced haze, you remembered who you came here for and you weren't leaving without him. you put a hand on danny’s shoulder, effectively cutting him off in the middle of his sentence.
“hey, do you know where ethan is? ethan nestor, i mean? he’s the one who invited me here.”
danny looked disappointed, but seemed to shift and slot puzzle pieces together in his head, snapping his fingers. “you're the girl he invited? that makes so much sense, actually. yeah, he’s out back- toking up, probably,” he explained, gesturing towards a door you would’ve never noticed. “out there and down the stairs. need an escort?”
you almost denied his advances but spotted an old fling loitering by the hidden door. giving danny a tight smile, you drained the rest of your drink and held up a finger. “one sec! stay here.”
butterflies flooded every inch of your being as you stumbled over to the makeshift bar, pouting a variety of liquors into your cup. you were going to see ethan outside of class. on his turf. something about it shook you to your core, but you couldn’t quite figure out why.
sure, ethan was hot- that was obvious. but he’d been flirty, too. were the two of you a thing? if you weren’t, why had he been talking to danny about 'the girl he was inviting’? clearly, ethan had been talking about you, you just weren't sure of the context. you tried to swallow all these fears as you topped off your cup with lemonade, taking a small sip. trying not to spit it out, you added more juice; you’d made the strongest mixture you could think of, and it tasted like some sort of poison. that didn’t stop you from taking another small sip, then a bigger one. you needed the buzz.
“okay! let's go.”
danny led you out the door and down the stairs with no issue, and you quickly realized how tipsy you were - the stairs seemed to bob and warp under your feet, and you grabbed onto the handrail with a death grip. he noticed this easily, laughing a bit. “are you good?”
“great. it's the heels and alcohol- they don't mix well.” you laughed at yourself, regretting the chunky, heeled boots you’d thrown on.
“you can ditch them, if you want. we’re going out onto a deck, so you won't be in grass or anything,” danny explained, pointing to a pile of shoes by the door you were about to exit. you weren't going to argue with that, thankful that you’d chosen cute socks as you wrestled the footwear off and tossed it onto the pile. your stomach flipped as danny opened the door, cool night air biting into your warm skin, waking you up a bit. the sourish-sweet scent of marijuana flooded the small stairwell, and danny chuckled. “told you he was smoking.”
nothing could’ve prepared you for the way you felt watching ethan take a long drag off of some sort of pen, letting the vapor pour from his lips in pale blue plumes. something about the easy way the smoke seemed to float from his mouth went straight to your center, and you dug your nails into your palms, trying to get yourself under control. ethan finally realized that more people had joined the small crowd on the bench, and his heavy-lidded eyes seemed to light up as they roamed all over you lazily. this only furthered the sensation between your legs, the coils starting to tighten in your lower stomach.
what the hell?
“y/n, you made it,” ethan said, a smile taking over his face. he quickly hopped down from where he’d been sitting on the guardrail and made his way over, wrapping an arm dangerously low around your waist. he hugged you tightly, making your heartbeat stutter as you squeezed him back.
you mumbled a ‘hello’ into his neck as ethan let his touch linger, your body held tightly to his. someone cleared their throat, conversation starting back up, and ethan reluctantly pulled away, dropping his eyes to yours. he kept a hand on the small of your back, sending electricity running up and down your spine. “having fun?”
you could barely talk as you forced yourself to respond. “yeah, lots. you’re a hard person to find.”
ethan grinned again, letting his head fall back as he laughed. “my bad. i thought you would text me when you got here. found someone to take care of you , though?” he asked, cocking an eyebrow. the facial expression did absolutely nothing for the situation building up under your skirt- only worsening your want for the tall boy in front of you.
“who?”
ethan smirked, dropping his lips to your ear. “that's what i like to hear. you look pretty, y/n.”
the way he said your name practically undid you, ripping your self-control apart at the already weakened seams. you let a hand wander up and down one of ethan’s sculpted arms, outlining the planes of muscle through his hoodie as you crossed your legs; sure, it was the ladylike thing to do, but you were desperately looking for some sort of friction, anything to lessen the need for him.
“thank you.”
ethan nodded, the hand that had been perched on your back sliding over your hip before finding your hand. he laced his fingers into yours, and you were shocked at how forward he was being. the two of you had flirted heavily- and okay, maybe you’d sent some suggestive pictures back and forth- but ethan seemed to be claiming you as he led you over to the round table where all his friends were sat. again, you carved half-moons into your palms with your nails as you added up all the chairs- there wasn’t enough. you began to let go of ethan’s hand, ready to boost yourself onto the railing, but he gave your fingers a gentle squeeze. you watched as ethan settled into the overstuffed outdoor chair, gesturing at his lap.
fuck.
you took a brief moment to admire the mess you’d gotten yourself into before you gingerly sat on ethan’s lap, trying to make yourself as small and weightless as humanly possible. that didn’t last long, though. ethan circled an arm over your hips, pulling you onto his lap firmly. you couldn’t breathe as you settled into him, crossing your legs tightly. your lower body was tucked away, hidden under the table, but still. you tucked a small portion of fabric between your thighs, ensuring nothing would slip.
you didn’t say much as ethan continued to conversate with his friends, passing the silvery, skinny device around the table.
soon, the talk turned from school and classes to typical, stuttering stoner laughing; everyone besides ethan and danny seemed to be a complete lightweight, gone after one hit of the cartridge. however, both the boys were on at least their fourth hit and still seemed relatively composed. they’d started to talk about some sort of economic study, and you’d quickly grown bored and confused. after sitting through 10 more minutes of the terminology you didn't understand, you began to wiggle around on ethan’s lap, loosening his grip on you.
at the same moment, you and ethan both shifted in just the right way, causing one of his legs to end up between both of yours just as your hips rolled forward. delicious friction flooded your system, and you bit down hard on your lower lip, trying to stifle a moan. you fought with everything in you not to rock your body again, sensation overwhelming your impulse control. before you could do anything, one of ethan’s large hands found your hips, squeezing just enough to leave fingerprint-shaped marks on your skin. ethan knew what he’d done- you could hear the satisfaction threaded through his voice.
“you okay? what d’you need?”
you tried to steady your voice, painfully conscious of the people around you. while most of ethan’s friends were high enough that they wouldn’t notice, you knew that danny would pick up on any changes in your demeanor. you swallowed hard before answering him.
“i'm gonna go get another drink.” another gentle squeeze practically lit your skin on fire, and ethan held the pen up to you.
“wanna try this instead?”
you weren’t going to lie- you’d been a bit jealous of the boys, not even thinking of passing the device to you. with shaky hands, you reached to accept the cartridge, but ethan had different plans. a sinful look found its way into his slitted eyes as ethan held the pen up to your lips. “go ahead.”
you could’ve passed out from the command, the look, the way that he’d started to bounce his leg. it was as if he was trying to break you- like he wanted you to give him some sort of sign that you wanted him. you did, more than anything. desire seemed to curl its way into every inch, every cell of your body, its spurs digging into your skin.
you met ethan’s eyes deliberately as you accepted the cold metal into your mouth, inhaling deeply. you took immense pleasure in the look that crossed ethans face as you pulled away with lungs full of the hazy drug. you held your breath for as long as possible before letting the vapor drift from your lips, just as ethan and done earlier. you watched his adam's apple bob as he swallowed hard, his eyes snapping off of yours and over to danny.
“i’m gonna take y/n to get a drink. watch them, will you?” he asked, gesturing to the rest of his friends. danny just nodded, mumbling a low ‘have fun’ as ethan practically lifted you off of his lap. adrenaline coursed through each and every one of your veins and ethan laced his fingers through yours, leading you inside.
ethan barely let the door shut before his hands were on your hips, pinning you to the wall of the small stairwell. his lips met yours roughly, and you couldn’t hold back the whimper that had been building in your throat for the past hour. you felt ethan smirk at the soft noise before he bit at your lower lip, dragging the soft flesh between his teeth. again, you let out a whine full of pleasure- he just felt so good. you let your arms circle ethans neck, one of your hands knotting in his dark hair. you pulled at the roots gently as ethan’s tongue rolled against yours, your body entirely succumbing to him.
he forced himself to pull off of your body, and you let out a small whine; you’d been waiting on this. ethan smirked, his laugh coming out dark and much raspier than usual. “don’t worry doll, i'm not done with you yet. just can't have you here.”
the words went right through you, only adding to the ache between your thighs. ethan took your hand with a profound gentleness, and dropped a soft kiss on your forehead. “before this even starts, are you sure?”
you nodded eagerly, getting up on your tiptoes to recapture his lips, but ethan pulled back. you furrowed your eyebrows at the tall boy, confused- until he brought a hand up to your face, holding your jaw. ethan tilted your head up, forcing you to meet his eyes. “i need words, baby. are you positive? i can-”
“so sure. i promise.” you nodded at him, your eyes never leaving his. “i want you.”
ethan swore under his breath and kissed you hard before leading you up the stairs. you started to feel the effects of the drug as ethan took you from kitchen to living room, up some stairs… you lost track of all the places you’d been, allowing the weed to cloud everything in a gauzy veil. you felt good; light and somehow heavy at the same time, and you enjoyed the way that everything seemed to slow down. finally, ethan opened a door and pulled you in behind him. you realised where you were- his room. it smelled like ethan, like citrus and musk and something you could only describe as boy.
you let out a small giggle as ethan reached for a remote, colored lights dousing the room in a sultry red glow. “setting the mood?”
quickly, you were shut up in the best possible way. ethan kissed your roughly, all teeth and tongue and hands everywhere as he backed you against one of his walls. you let yourself get lost in him, basking in the warmth of your hunger for him. one of ethan’s cold hands made its way under your shirt, the other holding your jaw in place as he bit into your bottom lip once again, making you whine.
“feel good?” ethan asked, breathlessly. you could hear the smirk in his voice, but you couldn’t help the way your back arched at the simple question. your nails dug into his shoulder as ethan slid his thumb under the band of your bra, and he let out a rough moan, managing to undo the clasp with one hand. ethan pulled away from you long enough to rid you of your shirt, discarding your bra on the floor as well while you practically ripped his hoodie off, desperate to feel his skin against your own. he clearly wanted the same, judging by the way he wrapped an arm around your back, pulling you flesh against his chest.
ethan managed to capture both of your wrists in one of his hands, pinning them above your head. you were unfamiliar with the feeling of being restrained, but the sensation seemed to send your heart thrumming even faster. he kissed you until your lips were sore and your knees were weak before finally dropping his forehead to yours. ethan took his chance, letting his eyes roam all over you and you watched his pupils grow larger until his eyes were practically black. “jesus fuck, y/n. you’re beautiful.”
your voice came out high and breathy as you responded. “ ‘could say the same about you.” you were practically panting, your body no longer responding to your mind as your back arched. ethan let out a hard breath.
“do you know what you do to me?”
your eyes fluttered shut as ethan’s lips met the sensitive skin of your neck, his tongue exploring the delicate flesh. he quickly found your weak spot and focused his attention there; he let his teeth gently sink into your skin, making you gasp before using his soft tongue to soothe the spot. he repeated this process all over your neck, sucking on your flesh when he found a sweet spot. you knew that you’d be covered in purple-blue bruises, but you’d wear them proudly- that was ethan’s motivation for marking you up.
ethan trailed soft, wet kisses all the way down your neck to your collarbones, groaning at the way you pushed your chest toward him. he hesitated, but started kissing back up your neck, your jaw, back up to your lips. he released his grip on your wrist and you quickly cupped his face in your hands, kissing him with everything in you. you wanted the boy to feel the way you wanted him, and you knew he could as his lips seemed to slow, the kisses getting deeper and deeper. you lost yourself completely in ethan, unsure of where he started and you ended. you could feel his heartbeat against your own, the two thumping rapidly, almost erratic.
the two of you stayed pressed up against each other, your back firmly against the wall for a while, until ethan finally pressed a soft kiss to your cheek. “bed?”
you nodded eagerly, wanting the boy all over you. the two of you stumbled, half kissing over to the mattress, falling together. ethan quickly situated himself on top of your body, caging you in between his arms. he began kissing down your body at a torturously slow pace, tracing the dark marks he’d already left with his soft tongue, driving you insane. ethan took his time working down to your breasts, finally taking one of your sensitive nubs into his mouth. you let out an almost guttural moan at the sensation, pleasure overwhelming your senses. ethan hummed at your reaction, only intensifying the feeling. you tangled a hand in his hair, the other digging into his back, leaving long, red scratches on his pale skin.
ethan swirled his tongue around your bud, taking extreme pride in the way you let your head fall back against the mattress, moans of his name spilling from your lips. he tucked an arm under the arch of your back, pulling your body even closer to him- he didn’t want any space dividing the two of you. ethan pulled off of your puffy nipple with a soft moan, wasting no time in kissing over your chest, pulling the other into his mouth. he covered your chest in dark, deep bruises, admiring his work under the sensual glow of the red lights. “so pretty..”
you couldn’t form full sentences to respond with, just broken moans and pleads and tugs on his hair. ethan found it endearing, the way you wanted him so badly. he couldn’t help but give you what you needed.
he kisses hastily down your body leaving small lovebites here and there on your ribs, your stomach. ethan hooked his thumbs in the waistband of your skirt and pressed a kiss to the exposed skin right above the fabric. “this okay?”
“yes, i- please,” you pleaded, lifting your hips to make it easier. ethan got rid of the piece of clothing, discarding it on his bedroom floor, quickly followed by your panties. he let out a throaty moan, his eyes working over you lazily, like he had all the time in the world. he admired your body until you wriggled underneath him, needing some sort of stimulation.
“what do you want, baby?”
“you,” you whined, desperation weaving through your voice. ethan pressed gentle, warm kisses on your hip bones, fighting a laugh.
“i know that. what specifically?”
“fuck, ethan. anything, just touch me. please.”
“okay, okay. and you're positive this is alright?”
“yes. i’m so sure. i swe-” your words died in the back of your throat as ethan pressed his thumb to your clit, rubbing small, soft circles. “holy fuck.”
“already so worked up,” ethan mumbled, pressing kisses to your inner thighs. “this because of me?”
you were taken aback by the way your high seemed to multiply the pleasure by tens of thousands- ethan was barely touching you and you could feel your high approaching quickly. you couldn’t find the words to answer him as ethan shifted between your legs, giving himself a better view of your sex. “does that feel okay?”
a stream of swears left your lips as ethan quickened his pace, hooking one of your legs over his shoulder. “so fucking good, just like that.” the knots in your stomach continued to tighten as you balled the sheets in your fist, tugging at his hair with the other hand.
ethan pressed a kiss dangerously low on your hip, looking up at you. “can i?”
your hips bucked at the tone of his voice, and you nodded vigorously. ethan kept his eyes on yours as he ran his tongue through your folds, lapping your arousal up. he couldn’t help but groan at the taste of you, the way you pulled at his hair, putting his mouth where you wanted it before letting your head fall back onto his bed. ethan started to suck at your sensitive bud, rolling his tongue over the bundle of nerves and you knew you wouldn’t last much longer.
“i- fuck- i’m close.”
he hummed, the vibrations sending you over the edge. your eyes rolled back into your head while you tugged at his hair, your orgasm completely undoing you- the high only added to the sensation, making it that much better. your hips bucked under the skillful work of his soft tongue as ethan let you ride out your high on his face.
ethan dropped a gentle kiss on your clit before peppering your entire body with them, giggling at the way you squealed. he finally attached his lips to your neck, your jaw, back to your lips. you kissed him hard, tasting yourself off of him. finally, when your exhaustion won out you pulled away, running your hands through ethan’s fluffy hair.
“how was that?”
you propped yourself up on your elbows, pecking ethan’s lips. “so, so good,” you mewled between heavy breaths. ethan bit down on his lower lip and smiled, pride filling his system.
“god, you look good moaning my name. you're beautiful, you know,” he said, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. ethan looked at you with a tenderness in his eyes, placing another kiss on your lips. “think you can go again?”
ethan started trailing down your body again, not waiting for an answer. he was laser focused on pleasuring you, making you whine and whimper for him- only for him. before he could get far, though, you were grabbing at his arm and shaking your head. he flushed, peeling away from you while starting to profusely apologize, but you pressed a finger to his lips.
“want you. inside of me,” you explained between pants, still exhausted from the first round of stimulation. ethan threw his head back, swearing.
“jesus christ, y/n. need me that bad, baby?”
his choice of words drowned you in desire, and you were all his. “yes. please, ethan?”
he wanted to fuck you until all you could do was moan his name just like that, over and over again. before you could process what was happening ethan had his hands all over you, roaming your body as he practically drooled at the sight before him: your already fucked out body, the sweet look painting your face, begging for him. ethan could barely control himself, his words coming out as rough murmurs.
“protection? i mean, i have it.”
you bit at your lip, hard. you were on birth control, and you wanted him- all of him.
shaking your head, you explained. “birth control. we’ll be fine, if you’re comfortable.”
you jumped as ethan moved a finger to your entrance, dipping into your sex. he groaned at the way you clenched around the appendage, his cock jumping in his boxers. “want my cum inside you?”
“yes- fuck, ethan, please,” you begged, reduced to nothing. all you wanted; all you needed was him inside you, ruining your body until you couldn’t take anymore pleasure.
“so tight,” he mumbled, lining another finger up. you bucked your hips, the sensitivity almost too much as he stretched you out, watching the way your face contorted under his influence. ethan placed a large hand low on your abdomen, applying light pressure. “if you can’t take this, you won’t be able to take me.”
you nodded, pace almost desperate for him to continue. “feels good baby. so good.”
you took note of the pleased expression that stretched over ethan’s face as you praised the boy- you were just telling the truth, but clearly he liked to hear what a good job he was doing. ethan brought his thumb up to your clit, rubbing tight circles on the bundle of nerves and you grabbed at his wrist, nails digging into skin.
“gonna make me cum again,” you warned, but ethan only smiled at you, nodding almost condescendingly.
“wanna finish on my fingers, pretty girl?”
you wanted to say no, wait to come undone around him, but his movements felt too good. you dug your nails into his arm even harder, your other hand clawing into ethan’s soft sheets as the knots in your stomach came undone, your walls contracting around his fingers tight enough to make him moan.
ethan let his pace slow, extending your orgasm as you practically rode his hand, crying out in absolute euphoria as he increased pressure on your clit.  unable to form words, you released your grasp on the boy’s arm, bringing your hand up to his face instead. you pulled ethan’s lips down to meet yours, whining at the feeling of his clothed cock grinding against your center.
ethan couldn’t take it anymore, quickly ridding himself of the soft sweatpants. you watched as his manhood sprung up, hitting his abdomen; the sight in and of itself enough to make you let out another bliss-filled noise. ethan let his eyes fall to yours as he stroked himself, shuddering at the heavenly friction. again, his voice came out low as he lined himself up with you.
“sure?”
far beyond words, you nodded and laced your fingers through his.
ethan returned your grasp with a sweet squeeze, gliding the tip of his cock through your folds- coating himself in your arousal. the two of you moaned in sync; a sweet, satisfied sort of harmony. finally, ethan pushed into you slowly, gasping at the feeling. you couldn’t help the way your eyes rolled back into your head, the feeling of him inside you almost too much.
“you okay?”
“so good,” you breathed, trying not to yelp at the feeling spreading through your lower body. ethan was well endowed- the biggest you’d ever taken- and it was an addictive sort of pain. he moved slowly, stopping a few times; allowing you to adjust around his length. when he’d bottomed out, ethan let his head fall back, groans escaping his throat.
“so fucking tiny,” he gasped, a groan cutting his statement off. “feel so good around me, gorgeous.”
you nodded at him, trying your best to meet ethan’s eyes as you praised the boy. “so fucking big- you feel so good,” you whined, your hips bucking. “want you so bad.”
a breathless laugh escaped ethan’s lungs as he maneuvered a hand behind one of your thighs, lifting your leg to hook over his shoulder. he pushed even deeper into you and black spots began to crowd the sides of your vision, the pleasure overwhelming. slowly, ethan started to pull out of you, eliciting filthy words and moans from you before he slid his length back in.
“fucking hell, y/n. so tight,” he said, voice tipping up into a whimper at the end. he quickened his pace, the noise of sleeping skin filling the room. you could barely contain yourself, no longer fighting the stream of murmurs and swears leaving your lips as ethan continued to pump in and out of you. your next orgasm was already building, the coils tightening rapidly in your lower belly.
ethan let his hand wander down to your sensitive bud, almost coming undone at the sight of your eyes fluttering shut. you traced up his forearm, scraping at his sweet skin before knotting your fingers in his hair, tugging at the roots.
“eyes open, baby. look at me.”
you could’ve cum then and there, the instructions only turning you on further. you forced your eyes open, meeting his as ethan sped up again. an almost animalistic noise left your throat as ethan thrusted into you roughly- you weren’t going to be able to hang on much longer. ethan felt the way your walls were clenching around him, fluttering and tightening as he increased his speed on your clit.
“close?” he asked, unable to say much more than that. your grip around him was euphoric- he was closer than he’d like to be. it hadn’t been more than 20 minutes, but with the way you were pulling at his head, almost crying in completely bliss, ethan wanted to fill you to the brim with his cum then fuck it into your sensitive pussy, overstimulating the sweet flesh.
you nodded, humming a small “mhm,” as you looked at him with wide eyes. ethan paused for a moment, shifting your leg up even higher onto his shoulder before plunging back into you. you felt the head of his cock hit a new, even more delicious spot and you became almost delirious. looking at him with furrowed eyebrows, you felt a tear crawl down your cheek.
“gonna cum, ethan-”
“fuck- me too. let go, baby.”
your entire body seemed to shake and shudder under the force of your orgasm- it hit you like a fucking train. you felt ethan’s thrusts get sloppier as he buried himself inside you, his head dropping to the crook of your neck. he whimpered as he shot his cum deep into your pussy, the sensation all consuming. the two of you stayed like that for a while- riding out your highs with each other, rough moans turned to honey-sweet mewls.
as your heart rate started to come down, you peppered the boy's face with soft, careless kisses: ones that he gladly returned. ethan finally found your lips, pressing tender, long kisses to the swollen skin.
“you’re a fucking god,” you murmured, stressing the word as ethan’s face flushed even hotter than it already had been.
“that,” he huffed, breathing still hard and uneven, “would be you.”
you giggled at the statement, your voice hitching as ethan slowly pulled out of you. you could feel a mixture of him and you spill out, the substance flowing over your things as ethan kissed down your body, taking in the sight between your legs.
“so pretty, baby,” he whispered, sinking a long finger into your pussy. your whole body spasmed at the feeling, completely overstimulated. ethan pulled out of you softly, watching the way his cum seemed to spill out of you endlessly. he placed small, delicate kisses to the marks he’d left covering your thighs, admiring his work. “can i keep you here for the night?” he asked, eyes turning affectionate.
you nodded at the boy as he came back up to meet your lips, then your forehead. as you settled onto his chest, drawing lazy patterns on his skin, ethan's voice seemed to return to normal.
“such a good girl.”

[ chapter 3 ||| chapter 5]
The big, black collar was strapped way too tight around the boy’s neck, as he was pulled through the huge crowd of people. He didn’t know where he was going, he was just stumbling behind his owner, who was forcefully and careless pulling him by the leash, not caring if he was chocking or running out of air.
Sometimes, when the crowd was especially tight squeezed, he felt a hand or two on his body. They were either petting his bum, or pulling his fluffy tail or squeezing his sensitive ears.
“Come on, my bunny. We don’t wanna miss the fight.” The man was tugging the leash hard, gesturing for Jungkook to go faster.
His heart was beating in his chest, though it was not the first time his owners had taken him with them to one of the ‘Zoo Meetings’ how they called it. He was not there to fight, but he was there to be shown off in front of his owner friends, while they sat right in the front row and watched the fights.
A shiver ran down his spine when he thought about the last time. The woman who had sat next to had an awful laugh, and every time she had opened her mouth, showing her way too white teeth, it would made the poor Hybrid’s ears hurt.
She had been scratching her long fake nails over his thighs all evening, pinching and squeezing it from time to time, or going way too hight with her bony hands.
“Ladies and Gentleman…” A loud voice rang through the big boxes, and Jungkook knew what was coming next: They were announcing the next fight. “Please take a seat and make yourself as comfortable as possible, for the very last fight of the eeevvveeennniinngf!”
Jungkook pressed his ears flatter onto his head, hoping to block out the loud voice that made his ears hurt, but the volume and the cheering crowd were too loud.
“In the right corner, we have a very special fight. Please cheer and clap for our black Panther!” Though the crowd cheered, Jungkook knew that their intention was not to motivate the poor Panther, it was meant to scare him even more, so he would fight with all his animal instincts. “And in the left corner we have our well known champion, the one with the lovely owners Mr. and Mrs. Chefferson…” Mrs. Chefferson, his female owner, shot up from her seat and waved wildly in all directions, enjoying all the cheer for her like she was a celebrity. Her way too short skirt and cleavage were making a terrible job to hide something. “Please cheer for our Leopard!”
The woman next to Jungkook was screaming so loud with her shrill voice, while lifting her campaigner glass in the air.
“Jin.” The bunny whispered, as he watched his older brother being shoved into the fighting ring.
The ring was a big square, maybe about 5x5 meters each side. The floor was made out of hard stone, that would make the fighting Hybrids feet sore when they would push themselves over it. It was also the reason most Hybrids die while fighting, because they fell into the hard floor and hitting her heads open. Around the floor was a big metal grid, that would protect the visitor from the Hybrids if they wanted to break free.
Jin was never the type to fight. He was an Amur Leopard Hybrid, one of the peaceful breeds. The only reason he had won so many matches was because he was pumped full of doping liquids, that would make him stronger and faster. At the Zoo Meetings, no one cared about doping or other illegal medicaments that would push a Hybrids, the visitors were here for fun and entertainment.
While the crowd was still cheering and screaming, Jin turned his head wildly into all directions, as if he was looking for something. When he looked over his shoulder, he suddenly made eye contact with the thin bunny Hybrid.
They were staring at each other eyes, before the older one nodded his head, almost unnoticed.
Jungkook knew what he was saying in his head. He had told him about his plan the previous evening, when the younger one had brought him food to his cage. Yes, Jin was caught up in a cage in the basement, and beside the fights, he was never allowed to leave it.
Jungkook gulped but nodded, too. Even though every part of his body told him to not do it. The plan wasn’t bulletproof at all, and even if he would make it out alive, they would probably catch him out in the streets.
The loud ringing of a clock ripped him out of his thoughts. The game master had declared the fight to begun, and now there was now way back, for Jungkook and for Jin.
Once a fight has started, the two Hybrids had to fight until the very end…and with very end he meant that one of them had to die. If both of them refused to fight each other, they would both be killed. There was no way out for them.
The room had fallen silence after the clock had rang, watching expectantly at the two Hybrid who were standing opposite of each other. Both were waiting for the other one to make the first move.
“Come on, you stupid tiger.” The man next to Jungkook whispered angrily. “I bet a lot of money on you.”
After another few seconds of silence passed, when with a sudden movement the Leopard shot forward, but not because he wanted to attack his opponent. Instead, he had turned around with an enormous speed and with a clinging sound he threw himself against the heavy metal grid, right were Jungkook and his owners sat.
Scream broke out among the people sitting in the front row. Woman were jumping up from their seats, throwing away their glasses, men were cursing and standing up, calling to get the security guards. In all the mess going on, Jin’s plan went exactly like he want it to go.
Mr. Chefferson, as well as the others, got scared so much that he let go of the leash which was connected with Jungkook’s neck. When Jungkook noticed the piece of leather hanging loosely by his feet, he lifted his head, looking one last time at his older brother. When their gazes met, he mouth ‘Run Jungkook’ towards the younger one, before he was sent to the ground by an electro shocking stick.
The bunny felt paralyzed. He wanted to help his brother. He wanted to rip all those people away from him, but he knew he couldn’t.
Jin risked his own life to save him. He wanted nothing more for the young boy to be free. Jungkook knew that it was selfish, but he needed to move now, or else someone would notice him being unleashed.
With tears streaming down his cheeks, he pushed himself through the crowd of people that were in great turmoil because of what was going on in the fighting ring.
Finally out of the building, he kept running and running, pushing his feet stronger into the ground. He don’t know how long or where he had been running, but he didn’t look back once.
The night air was cold against his naked upper body and face, and the hard floor was scratching up his bare feet. He passed buildings and woods, houses and fields until his lungs were burning and screaming for him to stop running.
When he looked around, he saw that he stood in the middle of a street, surrounded by many big houses and shops. He panicked. Many houses meant that there were many people that would call the police when they saw a strolling Hybrid on the street.
He needed to hide somewhere.
He pushed his feet in the ground once again, running over to a small dark passage. No one would willingly go in there, meaning that he would at least be safe for a few days. He walked further down the allay until he reached a dead end.
With his sensitive eyes, he spotted a small gap to the left side. He bent down and crawled between the dumpster and the wall, curling himself against the wall. When he realized that he was completely on his own now, with his brother probably dead by now, he began to cry.
Small cries and whimpered left his mouth for several hours, until a soft voice filled his ears.
“H – Hello? Who are you?”
Tumblr media
With heavily shaking legs the girl made her way up the well maintained driveway. She stumbled a few times because of those damn high heels, and the short skirt was sliding dangerous high up her thighs, sometimes.
It had been two day since Jungkook broke down in front of the TV in the living room. He cried and whimpered, crawling away from the girl as she tried to help him. He had sat there in the corner of the living room, shaking and mumbling this name for several minutes.
Hope had been crying as well. She didn’t know what was going on with him, and why he suddenly was scared of her again.
Eventually, they both had managed to calm down after 30 minutes. Though Jungkook had still be shaking, he had allowed her to come near. She carefully had wrapped her arms around the boy’s trembling body.
It had been the very first time that they had such an intensive physical affection, but they both needed that.
Jungkook had told her about his older brother Jin. Jin actually wasn’t related to the bunny, but living together for several years he saw him as his brother. He had told her about the illegal fights that his owner had forced the Leopard to go, and about the night, when Jin had told Jungkook his plan.
She was shocked when he told her how good he was threatened in comparison to the Leopard Hybrid. She didn’t want to imagine what the poor cat must had gone through and what his current state of health was.
Jungkook had told her, how he had watched the people shocking his older brother down to the ground without hesitation, and how he had found his way into the allay that night she had found him.
They both had cried that night, hugging and holding each other.
When the next morning had arrived, Hope had decided to save Jungkook’s bother, at any cost.
She didn’t know how she had come up with that plan, but it was the only idea that could save Jin without anyone getting hurt. She didn’t want to risk the Hybrids safety by a stupid idea…if he even was still alive.
She gulped. What if Jin wasn’t alive anymore? What would she tell Jungkook? He would be heartbroken forever if his older brother would be dead. She quickly shook her head and tried to not think about it.
If she left again, then with another Hybrid. An that’s it.
Jungkook could weakly remember where the Cheffersons had their residence, so he could guide her the way.
So right now, she was dressed in her most expensive clothes. Why? Well, Alice and Bill Chefferson were one of the richest families in the whole New York. They have so much money, that probably the doorknob by itself was worth more than her entire apartment. If Hope wanted to let an impression, she needed to pretend to be someone.
She tugged the hem of her black dress down one last time, before she put the black sunglasses over her eyes and lifted the purse on her arm higher. The she rang the doorbell.
A few seconds passed and she thought that her heart would jump out of her ribcage, when suddenly, the door was pulled open.
In front of the small girl stood a tall woman, maybe in her 50’s. She wore a tight red skirt that almost reached her knees, along with some expensive looking heels. She was thin. Under the white and really revealing blouse, her collarbones stood out sharply.
When Hope looked up into the woman’s face, she wanted to take her heels and run far away. With her lips pressed straight onto each other, the extremely straight nose with the sharp top, the strict tied braid and eyes looking arrogant and disgusted, she looked like she could destroyed the girl with one word.
“Yes, please?” She asked with a bored and cold voice.
“I – ehm…” Hope coughed. If she wanted to sound authentic, she needed to pull her act together. At least this one time. She coughed again and began to talk again, this time with a higher and shriller voice.
“Good morning, Mrs. Chefferson.” She smiled with her lipstick covered lips, holding out her hand.
The woman didn’t even move an inch. She stood in the half opened door and watched the girl up and down.
“What do you want? If you are some of those company chicks that want our money, go away!” She didn’t even waited for an answer, before she turned around and kicked the door shut. Hope reacted quickly, she took a step forward and stopped the heavy door with her feet.
“Oh, no. How could I?” She fake laughed. “Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Hope Carson. My father owns one of the biggest Hybrid breeding stations of the New York. I heard that you own that – ah, what breed was he? Oh, yes. You owned that cat that won the last Zoo Meeting in downtown, right?”
“He is an Amur Leopard and yes, my husband is his owner.” Mrs. Chefferson had pushed the door open again. “But he is a good-for-nothing. Believe me, it is a waste of time to try to train him. Good day.”
She was about to shut the door close again, and once again, Hope blocked it with her foot.
“Oh believe me, I know he is good for nothing. I saw him fighting at the last Zoo Meeting. A pathetic little creature.” Lie. She had never been a visitor of an illegal fight club, nor did she really think what she was saying right now. Though, she put as much disregard as possible in the tone of her voice. “The only thing he could be useful for is to do some researches on him. That’s why my father sent me. I wanna take him with me.”
For a few seconds, the woman looked like she didin’t believe the girl’s act. Once again, she eyed her up and down, before she fully pushed the door open.
“What can you offer for him?” An evil smirk formed on the woman’s lips.
Hybrids did absolutely not worth anything to human. Though there is a law that made it illegal to deal with Hybrids, they were sold for so little money that it didn’t worth to most courts to initiate a proceeding. Especially not, if buyer and seller are clever, and exchange the Hybrid’s deed of ownership, because with official documents, it was no dealing. At least that’s what most of the judges justify their verdict.
A deep of ownership is an official paper, which every Hybrid got from the moment he was bred, and what every owner got once he adopted his Hybrid. It was mostly used for owners to prove that they are in charge of the Hybrid, or to assign a free strolling Hybrid. It is comparable to a human’s birth certification.
“I can offer you a lot of money for this worthless animal.” Hope forced an evil smile back, even though she wanted to throw up.
She followed Mrs. Chefferson into the living room, where also her husband was sitting. In his one hand he hold a glass of what looked like Scotch, and in the other hand he was reading a newspaper, not even bothering to look up.
The living room was huge and cold. Though the wall were white, there was not the tiniest piece of…love and effort that would make this house a home. Instead, they had placed a huge, hard looking sofa in the middle of the room, along with a giant chandelier hanging directly above it.
“Honey, who was at the door?” He mumbled while flicking the page, still not looking up. His voice was deep and careless, like his wife’s voice, bouncing around the naked walls.
“Darling!” Mrs. Chefferson squeaked with a shrilling voice, as she sat down next to the man, placing her bony fingers onto his chest. “This woman offers us a lot of money for that cat in our basement. She said that she would pay 1500 $ for him. She says that the only thing left to do with him is to do some researches on him.”
Finally, the man looked up. His gaze was piercing sharp when he met Hope’s. The girl wanted nothing more than to turn around and run as fast as her feet could carry her, but she stayed still with her lips presses hard against each other. She needed to stay strong. For Jungkook and Jin.
When Ms. Chefferson had eyes the girl for a few seconds, he sighed and turned his attention back to his newspaper.
“Save your money, Miss.” He said bored, not even looking up. “We still earn much money with him at the Meetings. Why would we sell him?”
Miss Chefferson, who somehow seemed to have a strong urge to sell the Hybrid, was about to say something towards her husband, but Hope was faster.
“Mr. Chefferson.” She said loudly, making him look up from the piece of paper. “I offer this one time chance to sell me that Hybrid. I saw him fighting. He won’t do it much longer, believe me. Soon, you will loose a lot of money because of him, and no one will be there to buy him from you, because he will has no worth at all. So why not taking all you still can get for him?”
“She is right, darling. Think about it. Who will buy such a weak Hybrid?” She leaned further into his, before whispering something into his ear.
Hope’s heart felt like it would be exploding any moment. She had prepared for any scenario that could have possible take place, but what would she do if he would say no? What –
“Alright, Honey.” He signed again, before closing the newspaper. He stood up from the sofa and smoothed his beige trousers. “You can have him. But you won’t see him just yet. Either you sign his papers and pay for him just now, or never.”
The girl didn’t have to think about this condition long. The sooner she would sign the papers, the less high is the chance that he would change his mind before she can leave with Jin.
“That is fine by me.” Hope said, as she pushed her glasses higher onto her nose. "The sooner I am done here, the sooner I can spend my energy in much more important things. After all, I am a busy woman.”
Together, the trio made their way into another room. On the way, Ms. Chefferson had asked on of his housekeepers to get the papers from his office. She arrived a few minutes later with some sheets of paper in her hand, lying it on the big desk in the middle of the room.
Ms. Chefferson pushed the deed of ownership over the table, gesturing for the girl to read it.
Name: Kim Seokjin
Gender: male
Breed: Amur Leopard
Generation: 04.12.2024
Laboratory: Seoul, South Korea
“Where can I sign?” Hope asked, as she laid the paper down on the desk.
Ms. Chefferson gave a few papers with conditions and legal protections to read and sign. To her luck, she had been studying law for about 3 year, she knew how to read a contract and what dangers it could bring, but the Chefferons really seemed get rid of the Hybrid. She signed everything and put the deed of ownership into her purse.
Her heart stopped for a moment when she realized what she just had done. She had practically adopted a Hybrid, a living being that needed to be provide and cared for. She didn’t even had a steady job, nor did she had a college degree.
Her mother, who had died a few years ago, inherit her a lot of money she had saved over the year, and in addition to that, Hope worked parttime in the college’s library, but with three people that needed to be provide, they would need to be really economical.
But it had been the only way to save Jin, and that was the only thing that mattered.
“Well, then congratulation miss Carson, for adopting such a lovely Hybrid. I think you will have plenty of fun with him.” He waited a second, before breaking out into a loud laughing. “Follow me and you can finally take that worthless animal out of my house.”
Once again, the trio waled through the endless hallways of the mansion. They passed several doors that lead to several rooms, but as they crossed the front door, something caught Hope’s attention. Next to the black door, on a small hook, hung a long, pink leash. The leash was connected with a big collar at the end, on which two capital letters were printed with big gemstones:
JK
“Jungkook.” The girl whispered under her breath, unnoticed by the couple.
“That leash belonged to our bunny Hybrid.” Ms. Chefferson has caught her looking at the leash for too long. He walked past the girl with shaking head. “Annoying little rodents. Always made a mess and never listened to what he was told. I am kind of glad he ran away. He probably died the first two hours being out there alone. We gave him up for adoption though, should he be someone else’s problem.”
Hope balled her hands into fists, wanting nothing more than to punch this man. But she needed to focus on Jin now.
They walked down a long staircase, downwards towards the basement. A shiver ran down the girl’s spine. Down there, it was dark and cold. The sound of their feet hitting the cold, marbled floor bounced around the wall, and for a moment Hope thought that she would never leave this house again. This was the start of a horror movie.
Ms. Chefferson stopped in front of a big, metallic door. He pulled out a key and unlocked the door, before pulling it open.
“Don’t worry.” He said as he took a step inside. “He is cuffed up.”
Hope’s legs started shaking again. She didn’t know what scenario would be waiting for her just around the corner. She made a few careful steps forward and walked into the small cell, immediately, she wanted to cry out.
The room was small, maybe 3x3 meters each side. There was no window, or bed, or table, or anything. Just walls and a hard stone floor. The only source of light was the beam of light from the open door.
In the corner of the room, on the cold floor, sat Jin. His thin body was only covered by a pair of dirty pants and a ripped and blood stained shirt. His head was leaned against the gold wall and his eyes were closed, while his angles and wrists were cuffed with a heavy metallic chain, like he was a wild animal.
“Stand up!” Ms. Chefferson screamed at the poor boy, while walked over with a black leash in his hands. “I said: Stand. Up!”
He had reached the helpless boy and bent down, before hegrabbed his right ear forcefully, pulling him up. Jin cried out in pain, but with is hands bound together there was nothing he could do to defend himself.
“I dare you to touch my Hybrid!” Hope lost her temper at this point. “This is my Hybrid, and I don’t want you to touch him. Now, get out! I want to inspect him properly.”
The older man let go of the Hybrid’s ear abruptly, making him fall to the ground again. A small whimper left the Hybrids when his bum hit the hard floor. He tried to push himself as far away as he came with his angles cuffed.
Ms. Chefferson looked confused in the first moment. He struggled to say something, but eventually, he gave her the keys for Jin’s cuffs, before he left the room, leaving the two young adult alone.
Immediately, Hope let her purse fall to the ground. She let out a small cry, before she covered her mouth with her hands to not cry out louder. She took some deep breaths and tried to calm herself down a little bit. When she opened her eyes again, the Hybrid was staring directly into her eyes.
“H – Hey, Jin.” She whispered with her normal, soft voice, as she kneeled down on to floor. Her voice cracked a few times from the shock that was still running through her veins.
She crawled closer towards the boy. When she was just a few inches away from him, she lifted her hands to unlock the cuffs around his neck. Jin, on the other hand, misunderstood this gesture. He closed his eyes and turned his head away from the girl, as whimpers left his mouth.
“No – No don’t be afraid, please.” She fiddled with the key around his neck. The collar snapped open and the metal chain fell to the ground with a loud clinging sound. She then uncuffed his wrists and angles. “I am here to help you. But we have to hurry, Jungkook is waiting for us.”
As she mentioned the younger boy’s name, Jin’s head shot around.
“Jungkook.” He whispered with his raspy voice.
“Yes, Jungkook is with me. He is all safe and sound.” Hope threw the key away. “Listen Jin, you need to play along with me. I need to strap this leash around your neck, but only for a short moment. Please, don’t be afraid of me. Okay?”
Jin didn’t put up a fight as she strapped the collar loosely around his neck. She helped him to stand up on his feet, and he wobbly followed her out of the cell. Hope changed some more words with the couple, before she and Jin left the house.
The girl just wanted to leave as quick as possible, but was always careful to not tug on the leash too hard. When she turned around, she gasped.
In the light of the sun, Jin looked much worse than in the dark cell. His face way thin and bony. The dark circles stood out of his pale skin, and his full lips were bruised and crusty from all the dust and dirt. His deep brown hair, as well as the fur on his ears, was greasy and falling over his forehead.
As he walked behind her, he had his head sunk down, not looking up at anything.
It took Hope anything to not turn back and punch those two disgusting creatures that called themselves human. How can they be even sleep at night, knowing that in their basement a living being was starving and bleeding to death. How could they watch themselves in the mirror every day, knowing that they live in luxury while Jin laid between dirt and dust.
“Almost there, Jin. Just keep going a few more meters.” She took his bloody and icy hand carefully, leading him the way to the car, where also Jungkook was waiting for the both of them.
“Jin!” He yelp, as the girl opened the car door and carefully pushed Jin onto the back seat. “Jin Hyung! Oh no, Jin! Are you okay Hyung! You are safe now, don’t worry Jin.”
The bunny was calling Jin’s name all over again, as the older one just had his eyes closed and his body lying weakly on the backseat.
“Don’t worry, Jungkook.” Hope had walked around the car and was already staring it.
“He will be okay now.“

__
The late afternoon sun peaked out from behind the clouds and you basked in the light, tilting your face up to catch its rays. This was the reason you’d agreed to promenade all the way to town when you could have taken a carriage. The warmth, the light, the time outside, it was one thing who’s description in books just never measured up, no matter how talented the author.
Ana and Finn strolled ahead of you, close enough that your mother would have scolded them. Her elbow brushed his and their eyes met and you grinned like a fool, almost skipping beside the General. Your hand rested on his (very firm) bicep, which you used to keep a respectable amount of distance between the two of you.
Your dreams hadn’t fooled you. He did run warm. As warm as the sun that beat down on you both. You kept a light grip on him, scared he may be able to feel the way your heart raced through your palm if you held on any tighter.
The General leaned close enough to murmur, “It seems our plan is working well, Miss Dean.”
He was right, though you hated it. In the few days since he’d proposed his scheme, Ana and Finn had seemed to grow closer still. This whole excursion was Finn’s idea, to head into town. It worked out well that your mother had requested an order of fabric and that you could take over this task for your servants, who had been swamped preparing for the season ahead.
It would be Siena’s debut. She was still young, but your mother wanted to give her a chance to enjoy herself without the pressure of marriage on her first season.
You would be attending the parties too, as a chaperone. It would be easier to turn down suitors now that you and Poe had been seen in public together. Though when he began courting others, it might pose a problem.
He was well within his right to do so. It wasn’t as if the two of you were genuinely courting. Even if he was sweet. And had had flowers delivered to your bedroom two mornings this week.
You had tossed them out the window.
As you reached the edge of town, you stepped away from him, pretending that you needed both hands to lift your skirts. Luckily, the shop you had to pick up the delivery from was right along the road.
Finn bowed slightly to Ana before turning back to you. “We will collect your mother’s order.”
“We’ll be here.” Ana batted her eyelashes at him and you resisted the urge to groan.
This would make her happy. This was the entire point of putting up with the General at your side and his very warm, very large hands.
He stepped away from you, following Finn into the shop without so much as a backwards glance.
“So things with the General seem to be going well.” Ana’s elbow found a soft spot in your side and you coughed, which saved you from responding. “I never thought I’d see the day you let a man truly pursue you, sister.”
“This hardly counts as pursuit. And once the parties start, I’m certain he will get swept up with all the beautiful debutants.” One of those girls would do much better for a General, someone that had been instructed since birth on how to take care of a man and a household, rather than in matters of trade and employment and the upkeep of your property as you had.
Her voice dropped to a harsh whisper. “Have you seen the way he looks at you? I cannot imagine anyone else catching his eye the way you have.”
“A temporary interest, perhaps. But it is temporary.” And fake, though you couldn’t tell her that. She would most certainly object to any kind of meddling on your part, despite the fact that you had meddled and organized and made-happen most of her life.
The boys were quick. The General and Finn were at your sides moments later, the roll of fabric balanced over Finn’s shoulders. He looked like you imagined a sailor from one of your novels might, swaggering and sweet and able to carry double his weight if he chose to do so.
Those shoulders would be good for lifting children. And for taking care of your sister.
The General did not leave the shop empty-handed either. A small bag poked out of the pocket of his trousers, and he was clutching something tight in his hand.
“Miss Dean,” the General ducked his head, though his eyes didn’t leave yours. He held his hand up between you, opening it to reveal a pale golden ribbon. He smiled, small and almost timid, and something inside you melted. “May I?”
You nodded, though you weren’t sure as to what he was asking. He stepped forward and looped the ribbon around your head like a circlet. His fingers brushed your soft skin as he secured it with a knot at the base of your neck. You shivered despite the heat, goosebumps running up your arms as you gazed into his eyes.
“Cold, Miss Dean?” He asked. Though his words were innocent, they were tinged with something darker. Something knowing, as if he could read your thoughts in your eyes.
“Just caught a chill.” You forced a smile, turning to your sister. “Shall we head home?” The stain in your voice was evident, and she hid her grin behind a gloved hand as you turned back for the road home.
As Finn found his place at Ana’s side and the General found his place at yours, you began to seriously regret not taking a carriage. The walk home seemed so much longer, each step like running through molasses.
“Miss Dean, you’re shaking. Once we are out of sight of the town, if it would make you more comfortable, you may wear my coat. I can imagine your mama would not take kindly to you taking ill from a stroll.”
“I am fine,” you hissed, stepping even further away from him.
A carriage barrelled down the road towards town. And towards you.
You were nearly fully in the road, and the General reached for your elbow to guide you back out of the way. “Miss Dean, I must insist—“
“You will insist nothing.” You wrenched your arm out of his grasp, but moved off the road just as a carriage careened past.
The General skirted behind you, putting himself between you and the road and forcing you to walk further away from danger in order to keep your distance from him. “I will insist that you don’t end your own life, Miss Dean. I am courting you. Your death on my watch would tarnish my reputation.”
You would have slapped him if not for the warmth in his voice. He was… joking? Had you reached the point in your strange companionship that you could tease?
When you looked up at him, your elbow bumping into his side, his eyes were soft. There was a vulnerability to him, an openness that stole your breath.
You stuttered to a stop. He continued on, ending up in front of you and completely turned around to face you. “Are you feeling well, Miss Dean?”
“I am,” you breathed, unable to pull your gaze from his face.
“Shall we continue?”
You suddenly shouted, the words ripped from your throat. “A stone!”
Ana and Finn stopped and turned, looking at you curiously.
“A stone in my shoe. There is a stone. In my shoe. On my foot.” You rambled, your face burning.
Poe ducked his head to hide his smile. Only loud enough for you to hear, he said, “But of course. I would not expect an intelligent woman such as yourself to wear shoes on your shoulders.”
Poe knelt before you. He held his hands out and you let your foot peak out from under your skirts. Carefully, without touching your skin, he undid the buckle and eased the shoe of your foot, shaking it out before holding it before you once again. He did not comment that there was no stone, simply smiled up at you. Kneeling before you. A surge of power flowed through you at his physical submission.
You snatched the shoe out of his grasp, shoving your foot back in it and setting off without waiting for him to rise. He scoffed behind you, but you paid him no mind. You stomped past Finn and Ana, the buckle on your shoe clacking with each step.
You could feel Ana’s glare scorching across the backs of your shoulders, but you couldn’t bring yourself to stop. Not now. He laid you bare before him with a simple smile, and then returned your power to you, over and over again.
It was beginning to make your head spin.
The General returned to your side in silence, though you could still feel the burning of his smile. You did not exchange another word until the four of you had passed into the house.
The sound of the buckle on your shoe snapping against itself echoed in the large foyer as you stopped, turning to Ana and Finn. Mister Kirk took the fabric from Finn and disappeared, presumably to deliver it to your mama.
After glaring at you, Ana guided Finn into the drawing room with a promise of a game. The doors were left open, as was proper, and her ladies maid stood watch over them.
You did not realize how close the General was standing to you until his whisper tickled your ear. “Would you like to stop this charade? Your sister and Finn seemed to be progressing just fine without us.”
You startled back and shook your head, aggressively enough that the ribbon the General had tied for you fell from your hair and onto the floor. You weren’t sure what had come over you, but you were more than certain that your sister and Finn would need your help. You had to see this through.
“Then we shall continue.” He said simply. “You do keep things interesting, Miss Dean.” The General picked the ribbon up from where it had dropped and handed it back to you. “I cannot say that I regret accompanying my companion this summer.”
“I have a feeling, General Dameron, that Finn is the type to not take no for an answer. I am not certain you could have avoided following him in his pursuit of my sister.”
He chuckled again. “Perhaps we will end the summer with each a sister for ourselves.” The darkness in his eyes had returned. His tongue wet his bottom lip and you gasped involuntarily.
“Goodnight, Miss Dean.”
The General was the first to walk away, the edge of the brown bag just peaking out of his pocket.
You clutched the ribbon tight in your hand. You considered throwing it to the ground, or running outside and abandoning it to the creatures of the night, but you couldn’t let it go. Instead, you clutched it to your chest, the fabric soft against your palm, and you watched the doorway he’d disappeared through, waiting for him to return.

Longing for you
Fandom: Death note
Paring: L Lawliet X Reader
Words: Around 2.4k (a bit long)
Warnings: Nothing really other than kissing? (Is that a warning?)
Tumblr media
It all started that one fateful day, the day of the opening ceremony.
Light and Hideki, well L, had finished their speeches and went to take their seat at the front.
“Good job, Light!” A girl’s voice spoke brightly. L could almost hear the smile and pride in her voice as she gave him a quiet series of claps.
That’s Y/N, Light Yagami’s best friend since childhood. The two had grown up together after meeting in nursery, becoming fast friends. She was smart, nearly as smart as the taller brunette; she was only one mark from 100%. They were close and Light trusted her, but he didn’t want to drag her into his plan; the plan to create a new world. He knew if he did that, he would be putting her in immense danger. She had her suspicions though. She had caught him talking to someone not there on multiple occasions and had witnessed him hiding something from her each time she entered his room without him knowing she was there. She knew. Deep inside she knew, but she didn’t want to believe Light, her best friend since she could remember, could do something like this.
Light chuckled slightly.
“Thank you, Y/N/N.” He smiled, taking his seat beside her before patting her thigh in appreciation.
L had been watching this interaction, noting the way the girl’s Y/H/C hair fell down her shoulders, looking extremely silky and soft. Her lips were painted pink and glossy, sparkling as she smiled. He was captivated by her beauty, something L wasn’t used to; especially considering he doesn’t even know her name, assuming that what Light called her was a nickname.
He watched the two interact for the rest of the ceremony, only stopping to speak to Light once, revealing his identity. Y/N heard this, but chose not to say anything, allowing Light to respond. It wasn’t her business after all, he was talking to Light, not her.
The ceremony ended and Y/N, Light and L walked out together, engaging in light, semi-awkward, chatter. L watched the two friends as they shared a hug before parting ways to head home.
“Would you,” L began which captured Y/N’s attention, turning to face him to give him a questioning look, “like to drive home with me?” He asked, stepping towards the smaller girl.
Usually, Y/N wouldn’t trust just anyone, but she knew she could trust him. He was strange, yes, but she trusted him.
“Sure,” she smiled brightly, following L towards the limo that pulled up, the two ignoring the others surrounding them giving them surprised looks.
“So, L.” Y/N’s soft voice broke the silence between them, “What do I call you? I’m sure Hideki is not your real name.”
“You’re smart.” L noted, bringing him thumb to his lips in a thinking manner as he noted some of the things he could.
She was short, shorter than him at least. Her black skirt framed her perfectly, matched with a white shirt with a pink collar. She also wore a white choker around her neck along with some black tights. Her nails were painted pink to match her collar, her makeup making her skin look flawless. The way her hair fell down her front made him want to play with it, the locks gliding through his pale and slender fingers. Her Y/E/C sparkled, even in the dark insides of the limousine.
“I’ve been told that many times.” She joked, a grin playing on her lips that L returned.
“Ryuzaki,” He informed her.
“Y/N.” She introduced herself, bowing slightly in a joking manner that made Ryuzaki almost want to chuckle.
She was a joker and he liked it. It wasn’t often someone would joke around with him, or even manage to get him to smile. He knew, from the second they began to interact, that he would end up taking a liking to her.
And he did.
Each day at the university was spent with her and Light. He was slightly envious of the friendship between the two, wanting to get closer to Y/N, becoming better friends and maybe, just maybe, something more.
L knew that these feelings were only natural but that didn’t mean he didn’t dislike them. She was close friends with his main suspect, raising the probability that she could be the second Kira.
“Ryu?” Y/N’s voice broke him from his thoughts, “You there?” She giggled, ruffling his hair causing a light pink blush to dance across his, usually pale, cheeks.
“Yeah.” He said, his voice as monotone as usual. “Where’s Light?” He asked, noticing the boy’s absence.
“He left with Misa.” L’s crush smiled, “You want to grab a drink?”
L nodded in agreement and the two left, heading to a nearby coffee shop.
~
“How do you have that much sugar?” She giggled, watching as Ryuzaki added yet another sugar cube to his tea.
He simply shrugged, inspecting the girl opposite him as she sipped her own drink.
She was wearing a pair of black jeans along with a grey sweater today. It was nearing fall meaning that it was gradually getting colder as the days progressed. L was wearing his typical clothing only he was wearing a pair of shoes today. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail, high on her head with a few loose strands framing her face. Her bag was beside her, the long strap covering the booth beside her.
The two continued to sip their drinks, talking about anything and everything. With each word she spoke, L could feel herself becoming more and more attracted to her. She was exceptionally clever, noticing even the smallest things about him like the way his face relaxed with each sip of his, extremely sugary, tea.
“Would you like me to walk you home?” The raven-haired detective asked, blushing slightly.
“Sure,” Y/N grinned widely as the two headed out into the night.
~
“Well, this is me.” Y/N said as the two reached her home. It wasn’t far from the shop but with the slow walk they took, it took around twenty minutes. “Thanks for walking me home.” She smiled shyly, looking as though she was debating something.
L realised what she had been debating when she reached up to place a kiss on his cheek as a thanks.
“Goodnight, Ryu.” She smiled, turning to walk into her house, giving him one final wave before she closed the door.
“I could actually fall in love with you.” He whispered; his hand now placed over where she had kissed him.
He knew he would, no matter how hard he tried not to, he would.
~
As days turned into months, the two grew closer and closer, closer than Light and L. Light and L rarely spoke now, all L’s attention being on the girl he admired. As the months progressed, he became more and more attached, more and more attracted to her and he couldn’t deny it, even Light could see it. He would often tease Y/N about it too, noticing the way her mood lit up when Ryuzaki entered the room along with her cheeks lighting a light pink at the smallest interaction. He would also do the same to L on the rare occasion that they spoke. However, neither of them would ever think of confessing, too shy and unaware of the others feelings to do so. Light was trying his hardest to keep the two away from each other, not wanting to hurt his best and closest friend when it inevitably came to him having to kill his friends crush. But his attempts failed; the two crushers just spent even more time together.
It was another day; Light was away with Misa talking about something nobody knew and Y/N and Ryuzaki were sitting beneath a tree. Y/N’s head was resting in Ryu’s lap, him playing with her hair. They were extremely close by now, anyone would mistake them for lovers; in fact, many did.
“Y/N,” Ryuzaki’s deep voice sounded.
His voice was less monotone around her after having opened up. He trusted her with his life, and she felt the same. They’d do anything for each other, even die. Despite this, they’d never admit it.
“What’s up, Ryu?” Y/N asked, reaching up with her fingers to run them through his raven locks, causing him to let out a pleased hum.
Ryuzaki hesitated for a moment, realising what he was about to say.
“Do you want to join the investigation?”
He couldn’t believe that he was about to tell her that he loves her. And that was when he realised, he’s completely and utterly in love with her. His eyes widened for a millisecond before returning back to normal quickly but not quick enough for Y/N to miss. She knew by this that that wasn’t what he was going to say.
“Of course, Ryu. But are you okay?” She was sat up now, her hand now pressed against his cheek, observing the pink that danced across his cheeks.
“I’m fine, Y/N/N.” He smiled, a genuine smile that he would only share with her.
She patted the top of his head, thumb stroking his bottom lip. His gaze fell to her lips, watching the way they parted as she licked them.
He wanted to kiss her.
They both knew this.
His eyes lifted back to hers to see her looking at him longingly as the two began to lean in, eyes closed.
“Hey, guys!” Lights voice yelled, causing them to jump away from each other, cheeks bright red.
“H-hey, Light.” Y/N smiled nervously, worried he had seen what had just happened.
“How are you?” He asked, taking a seat beside them and she was sure that he hadn’t noticed which she was grateful for.
And that was the beginning of the many failed attempts.
~
The second time was when they were sat in a comfortable silence watching over surveillance footage in the headquarters. She was sat beside him, their chairs almost touching. L was sat in his typical position where as Y/N favoured having her legs crossed, leaning forward to inspect the footage closer. The two of them noticed something at the exact same time, both curiously reaching for the mouse only for their hands to touch, both feeling sparks run through their body.
“Uhm,” Y/N’s voice whispered, withdrawing her hand now avoiding Ryuzaki’s gaze.
His hand reached out the gently grab her cheek with care she had never felt ever, not even with Light.  He moved her to look him in the eyes, her pupils dilating. This was when he fully realised that she returned his feelings, that they weren’t unrequited. She noticed this too: it wasn’t only her pupils that dilated.
“Y/N…” He muttered, thumb running across her bottom lip just as she had done the first time they had attempted to kiss.
Just as they were about to lean in to connect their lips, Matsuda burst through the door holding a tray of tea for the rest of the taskforce who were on a break. The two, once again, darted away from each other; Y/N’s chair sliding away from him in the process.
L missed her warmth.
~
Each time was a failure, and they were getting sick of it. Both of them craved the other, wanting nothing more to kiss the person they had wanted for so long. To feel their lips on their own.
Light, Ryuzaki and Y/N were sat in Y/N’s bedroom. Her parents were away on work business meaning that they could do what they wanted without being disturbed. Most people her age would throw a party with this opportunity. But Y/N? She favoured staying home watching a movie with her two best friends.
The three of them were sat on her bed, tucked beneath the duvet wearing some comfortable clothes ready for their sleepover as they watched a movie: some cheesy film that they had found in a local store that they wanted to make fun of.
It was a particularly cheesy scene when Y/N felt a sudden warmth in her hand, almost startling her until she realised that it was Ryuzaki’s hand enveloped in her own. She felt the blush dart up her cheeks at the contact, watching Ryu smirk out of the corner of her eye only making her blush harder. She also noticed the blush on his cheeks too; it was her turn to smirk.
~
It was when they were alone that they finally broke. After all their failed attempts, they were finally alone.
It was around two in the morning and he watched a sleepy Y/N falling asleep beside him. He smiled slightly, finding her extremely adorable bundled up in her oversized jacket with her droopy eyes.
“Don’t you think you should go home, Y/N?” He asked kindly at which she shook her head.
She didn’t want to leave him alone.
L reached out to hold her cheek, his thumb running across the bags under her eyes.
“You’re extremely tired. Have you even eaten today?” He asked, realising how she had been here all day and hadn’t had a single thing to eat.
He sighed as she shook her head, confirming his suspicions.
“We should get you someth-” L began, only to be cut off by a kiss from Y/N who had completely lost focus, only watching his lips move.
He let out a surprised noise, kissing her back the second he registered what was happening. They were finally kissing, after multiple failed attempts they were finally intertwined; their lips moulding together, moving in perfect sync. Y/N’s hand reached the back of Ryuzaki’s neck, pulling him closer to deepen the kiss.
“Lawliet.” Ryuzaki mumbled as they parted, both panting.
“What?” Y/N asked, a confused looking adorning her features.
“That’s my real name.”
She simply kissed him again.

Witch Bitch
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bucky x Witch!Reader
Word Count: 3,943
Warnings: witch stuff, burning at the stake 😳
A/N: this is heavily inspired by american horror story: coven bc i recently watched and ive been binging all of it lately but its not necessary to know anything about ahs lol i kinda just used their fancy magical terminology and concepts bc they were cool🤪
MAIN MASTERLIST
The best time of the day was breakfast. It was the time when Bucky, Sam, and Sharon were most often together. Sometimes training overlapped and they missed lunch. Sometimes missions ran long or friends were in town and they missed dinner. But the morning? They were all early birds, all awake by seven. They took that shared characteristic and shared breakfast together whenever they could. Bucky usually took care of the coffee, Sam usually took care of the eggs and bacon, and Sharon usually took care of the bagels, toasting them to perfection before slathering on a layer of cream cheese.
It was a moment of peace in their day. Quiet before the noise of the gym or the conference room or the jets or the private trainings or the interviews with prospective agents or anything else they do on a daily basis. It was a time for three friends to just sit and eat and enjoy each other's company as though they are just that: three friends. Not super soldiers or captains or special agents. Just people being normal. Normal doesn’t last long, though. It never does for them.
Bucky’s on dish washing duty this morning while Sam and Sharon chat idly behind him, waiting for him to finish so they can all leave together. A soft voice interrupts them, though, making the three of them stop what they’re doing because no one has access to this floor except for the people that live here - meaning them three.
“Who’s in charge here?” You ask.
“Who the hell are you?! How did you get up here?!” Sharon asks, ignoring your question.
You were in a long, flowy black skirt, slit cut in the left side exposing your leg, and a long-sleeve black shirt, tucked beneath the waistband. Think black boots cover your feet and a black hat sits on your head to complete your look. Bucky almost doesn’t notice the folded black umbrella underneath your arm as his eyes trail down the multiple chains and necklaces around your neck, falling between your breasts.
“I’ve been trying to find someone to help me but the people in this building are not very helpful. I figured I’d find who’s in charge myself, something that you all don’t seem to want to help me with, either.” You explain.
“The only way to even enter this building is through strict appointment and background checks, and no one’s even allowed past the nineteenth floor.” Sam explains.
“Why are you entertaining this? I’m getting her out of here.” Sharon says, moving to walk towards you to take you out of the building herself.
As she nears closer and closer, you wave your hand lazily, without taking your eyes off Bucky, the only one who hasn’t said anything this whole time, and Sharon collapses on the floor soundlessly.
“Jesus!”
“What did you do!”
Both Bucky and Sam panic as they rush to Sharon’s body on the floor. They frantically run their hands over her body, looking for the point of injury that made her collapse the way she did, but they find nothing. No holes, no blood; she didn’t even make a sound.
“She’s not breathing and she doesn’t have a pulse, what the fuck did you do to her?!” Sam yells at you.
You roll your eyes, “Okay, you got me. I don’t need help finding who’s in charge, I already know it’s you. I still do need your help, though.”
You’re ignored as the two men hover over their friend, unsure of what to do or what even happened to her.
“Oh, alright, move.” You order them, stepping over Sharon’s body.
You stand before her, lifting your hands to hover over her body before closing your eyes and letting out a deep and long exhale. Bucky and Sam watch as it takes only about seven seconds for their friend to suddenly gasp for air, jumping back to life. The boys crowd her once more, checking her eyes, her pulse, everything to convince themselves that she’s actually alive like that, and if she was even dead in the first place.
Sam finally looks back up at you from the ground, as though he just remembered that you’re there, “What are you?”
You smirk in response, ready to finally get what you came here for.
“So, you’re a witch?” Sam asks, the four of them now occupying a private conference room for some privacy.
“A witch who killed me.” Sharon adds.
“And a witch that brought you right back.” You reply, leaning back on your chair, leg crossed over your knee, slit exposing your thigh. Bucky’s eye twitch to look at your bare skin for a second before returning to meet your eyes.
“So… what do you do?” Bucky asks.
You smile at his innocent curiosity, “All witches don’t have one universal power. Some are clairvoyant, some do voodoo, some dabble in pyrokinesis, divination, transmutation, descendum,” You glance over to Sharon, who’s still pouting at you, “Resurrection.”
“And can you do all of those?” Bucky asks.
“Almost all of them, but I’m not here to talk about me.”
“Why are you here?” Sharon asks.
“You guys hunt the Nazi’s, right?” You ask, aiming your question towards Sam, knowing he’s the Captain in charge.
“Hydra, yes.” He confirms.
“Well, your Nazi’s somehow got a hold of my magic. And they are playing with very dangerous fire,” You begin.
Bucky interrupts, “We’re all for taking down Hydra, but, don’t you think you’re a little more… powerful than us?” He asks.
“Bucky!” Sharon slaps his arm, as though she’s shocked that he would ever admit such a thing.
“I am. But I’m not that powerful, either. Not anymore, at least. A group of those Hydra invaded the coven my sisters and I were at. I was the only one that escaped.” You tell them.
“Did Hydra take them?” Sam asks.
“No, they killed them.” You respond, growing irritated as the subject grows touchier and touchier.
“Can’t you just bring them back like you did me?” Sharon inquires.
“No! I can’t. Like I said, I’m not that powerful anymore. Maybe I’d be able to bring back a house full of dead girls when it was me and twelve others but it’s just me now. I wouldn’t come all the way over here if I had other options.”
Silence grows over the group as they process what you’ve gone through. Surviving through the massacre of your fellow witches and not being powerful enough to find the people that did it on your own. You’re vulnerable.
“So what can we do?” Sam asks, ready to join forces with you.
“Help me locate the men who did this so I can handle the magic part.” You tell him.
“What magic do they have?”
“Although witches control most of the magic, sometimes it can be taken on in… physical forms. Specifically blood. The blood they retrieved was from a witch that was skilled in Vitali Vitalis.”
“The alive within the living.” Bucky translates.
“There are two worlds: the living and the dead,” You begin to explain, “Vitali Vitalis keeps the balance between these two things and it’s one of the most difficult powers for a witch to master. Oftentimes it’s used to give parts of your own life, health, and energy to someone who needs it. But it can also allow you to take life from someone and give it to yourself.”
“Like immortality?” Sam questions.
“Not quite. Any witch can be killed with a knife or bullet. This kind of magic keeps you from dying of age. I’ve only ever known one witch who mastered it.”
“What happened to her?”
“She used it for evil, like this. Took the souls of hundreds in order to allow herself to live for almost three centuries. Until she was killed, of course.” You finish, a small smile on your lips knowing that she got what she deserved.
“What, you burn her at the stake?” Sharon jokes.
“Yes, actually. We did.” You tell her matter-of-factly, becoming more and more irritated at the fact that she doesn’t seem to take this is as seriously as you are.
Bucky interrupts, sensing the rising tension between the two girls, “So when we find these guys, you’re going to burn them at the stake, too?” He asks.
“Yes,” You say, as though it’s the most obvious thing in the world, “The consequence of using magic like this for evil is death by fire. I hope you all don’t think the rules will change on account of these men being Nazi’s?”
“Well, we just have a different way of doing things -” Sam begin to defend
“Yes, I’m aware. The countless destruction caused by you and other militaries, the millions of innocent lives lost yearly, not only in the constant war and irresponsible handling of your nuclear and alien weaponry, but by incorrect prosecution. Not to mention the billions of dollars spent on your ridiculous prison systems that don’t work when actual bad people escape and the death penalty practices in certain states. I just figured my way was easier. And cheaper.” You reply.
Silence crowds over the four of them once more as they think over all their options.
“I’m in.” Bucky speaks first.
“Me, too. Even if I don’t like you.” Sharon follows.
“Feeling’s mutual, dear.” You smile at her.
The three of them look to Sam, waiting for his commitment as well.
“Alright. Let’s get to work.”
Plans were made, theories of location were thought of, and plans to execute the mission were put into place, all of which included you. A temporary room was given to you when the information of your lack of a place to stay was brought to light. Only for the duration of this mission, is what Sam told you, but you can spot the amount of love and light in his heart from miles away.
It was later that night, and you’ve since cleansed the room, going as far as to place a protective spell on the entire floor. You’ve lost too much already, and you’re not about to risk anything.
A knock at the door sounds and the visitor you’d been expecting has finally arrived. You walk towards the door, still in your clothes from earlier but now you’ve removed your shoes, and open the door to reveal Bucky.
“I was waiting for you.” You tell him.
“How’d you know I’d come?” He asks, stepping through the door when you step aside, silently gesturing to him to enter.
“I can hear your thoughts. You've been debating whether or not to come see me for the past thirty minutes. Your mind is very loud.”
“Tell me about it.” He mumbles to himself, thinking about the countless nightmares, voices, and all the other reminders of just how loud his mind was.
“You can ask all your questions, you know. I won’t take any offence. You’re just curious.” You tell him, settling on your bed, hoping he’ll join you and stop hovering near the door.
Luckily he takes the hint and takes a seat across from you.
“I’ve never met a witch before. A real one, I mean. Like, someone born a witch. Like Salem witches -”
“I understand.” You chuckle lightly.
“You don’t seem… afraid of me. Or, hesitant, rather.” You tell him, thinking about how he’s received your presence here compared to his colleagues.
“I was wary when you killed my friend, but… you just need some help, is all. I’m sorry, by the way, I’m not sure if I said it before, but, I’m sorry for what happened to your friends.” He tells you.
He’s very polite. But you supposed that’s not abnormal considering he got his manners from the 1920’s. You like it, though. You give him an appreciative smile before giving him the okay to ask you whatever he wanted.
“So you said that witches can master multiple powers but have one specialty; is yours resurrection?”
“Yes; it was the first power I ever exhibited when I was a teenager. I was about fourteen or fifteen. My next mastered skill is descendum and then clairvoyance, where I was in my twenties, or so.” You tell him as he looks at you with pure fascination in his eyes.
“What is - what is descendum?”
You pause, “The power to descend your soul down into the afterlife - to hell. And return alive.”
His eyes widened, not even knowing that was something someone can do; not even knowing that hell existed in the first place, “So, you’ve been to hell?”
“Yes. I’ve also been able to retrieve people from hell, their soul. A variation of my power of resurrection, I suppose.” You explain, not being too fond of that power; descending to hell.
Bucky sits in silence for a few minutes, and you let him. You can hear the question lingering around in his head; what he’s thinking. But you let him build up his own courage to ask it. You know he’s only scared of the answer; the answer you know he’s not going to like.
“What is hell like?” He whispers.
“It doesn’t matter what my hell is like. Everyone has their own personal hell they experience when they die.” You tell him.
Confusion clouds his features as he registers your answer.
“Is there… Is there no heaven?”
You smirk, “It’s nice that you’ve remained religious after all this time.”
“Yes, there's heaven. But only for the purest and most innocent of souls. And rarely do people escape life without sin. Everyone has evil in them.” You tell him, knowing it’s a harsh truth that no one wants to hear.
The people Bucky’s killed, the crime he’s committed, the families he’s hurt; it all passes through his mind. Everyone has evil in them.
“What was your hell like?”
“I’m not telling you that.” You tell him quickly.
Bucky ponders what his own hell will be like, after seeing the way you’re clearly shaken up about your own. The fall from the train. The man in a lab coat sawing off the rest of his arm. The needles poking through his skin in the middle of some facility. The chair.
He doesn’t realize that he’s looked away from you until he snaps his thoughts back to the present and sees he’s looking down into his lap. He glances up to see your face, your soft features and kind eyes staring at him. He glances from your eyes to your lips and back up again before clearing his throat, not realizing how close he got to you during his time here sitting on your bed.
“You know, I, uh, I should go. Thank you for, uh, answering my questions, but we head out pretty - pretty early tomorrow, so,” He trails off, standing and patting down his shirt to smooth out the nonexistent wrinkles in a nervous habit.
He makes his way towards the door and his hand touches the knob when he hears your voice, “Hey, Bucky?” He turns slightly to face you again, a hum to indicate for you to continue.
“Thank you for coming to see me. And thank you for all the kindness you’ve shown me. You’re a very good person.” You tell him sincerely.
He gives you a nod of you’re welcome before exiting.
He’s not sure if you told him that because you truly mean it, or if it’s because of the state of anxiety and existential crises you’ve put him in now that he’s going to be thinking about his personal hell, but he appreciates it, nonetheless.
He thinks you’re a pretty good person, yourself.
The mission goes off without a hitch. The combined skill of the Avengers’ stealth, spyware, and experience along with your magic and witchery makes for an easy capture of the men who killed your witch sisters and stole your magic.
It’s not long before the facility they were at was shut down and cleared out, arresting any officers and rescuing any prisoners or hostages, and the five men specifically responsible for the destruction of your coven are in separate custody. What’s left of the blood is returned to you, as well.
That’s where the group of you stand now, a decision to be made about the criminals you’ve captured. To be put in the maximum security prison floating in the ocean, or to be put to death by fire.
“I don’t believe in being the executioner of people.” Sam tries to convince.
You can’t help but let a laugh escape you, “Do you know who you work for?! Do you know who you are?!” You remind him.
“Those guys can’t escape the Raft.” He tries, referring to prison in the middle of the ocean you’ve heard about.
“You did.” You respond, knowing about when Steve Rogers took him out of that prison, along with other superheros.
You see Bucky and Sharon look between the two of you, torn between how these Hydra criminals should receive their fate. Staring into the hot depths of flames or rotting alone in a cell? Both seem to be too merciful, in Bucky’s opinion.
“This isn’t just running the facility or experiments, Sam. This is different. They were using dark magic to commit crimes. Maybe they should face the consequences of a dark-magic-punishment.” Sharon offers.
You don’t have time to be shocked at Sharon agreeing with you and picking your side before Bucky agrees and Sam is outnumbered. He stares at you and gives a single nod, allowing you to do this your way.
You smile, a silent thank you for giving you the closure and opportunity to serve justice to those who did you harm. “Off to Massachusetts, then.” You tell them, and Sam takes his seat in the pilot's chair, Bucky accompanying him in the front of the jet.
You take a seat, making yourself comfortable for the flight to Salem and you feel a body take the seat next to you. You glance up to see Sharon looking at you, but you notice she has something in her hand, offering it to you.
You look down to see a small plastic bag of fruit gummies. But not just any fruit gummies, you realize. Halloween themed fruit gummies. The pictures on the outside show the various options inside: witch’s hat, a broom stick, a melting pot, a vial, and a magic wand. Hilarious.
You take the gummies, though, accepting her attempt at a truce.
It’s not long before you and your temporary teammates find themselves standing before a large, empty field, multiple wooden stakes standing about fifteen feet tall scattered about with plenty of space in between.
You lead the walk to a group of them standing tall in line, so the men can be burned at the same time, as opposed to one by one. A group of large, burly agents lug the Hydra operatives along, behind you and the rest of the team.
Bucky hangs around your left, as to not be in the way of the black umbrella held in your right hand, and Sam and Sharon trail behind you. You can sense their uneasiness and tune out their worried thoughts. Everyone’s first burning is always an experience; they’ll get over it.
Bucky doesn’t seem worried, though. In fact, you can’t hear his thoughts this time around. But he still stands tall and straight, walking with confidence, so you make a safe assumption that he’s okay.
None of the men’s cuffs or shackles are removed, but thick rope is tied on top of it, around the wrist and looped around the waist, tying them to the stake. The cuffs are special grade - high tech Avengers vibranium - and they can be retrieved later once the fire burns out.
“Any last words?” You ask, more for tradition than whether or not you actually care.
They look scared, obviously not expecting their fate to look anything like this. You remember seeing Bucky tackle one of them in the facility, prying his mouth open to rip out a tooth, or what looked like a tooth, like a dog caught eating something it wasn’t supposed to. A cyanide pill.
Silence comes from them, except for one of them, “Hail Hydra!” He yells, as if that cowardly and pathetic phrase would change anything.
With a raise of your hand, seemingly with no effort, you wave it and the stakes all begin to rise up in flames. There’s nothing to spark, no twigs, no gasoline, nothing, and Bucky watches as the flames rise, growing stronger as they engulf the five men. They begin to scream, and Bucky looks over at you, as if to confirm you didn’t bring gasoline or something with you, and he sees a smile slowly grow on your lips.
They haven’t stopped screaming; they’re still alive when you turn and begin to walk back the way everyone came. Bucky follows, and eventually Sam and Sharon do, too, the other agents staying behind until the end to retrieve the cuffs and shackles that will survive the fire.
“So, now what?” Sharon asks, the air quieter as the screams have slowly stopped in the distance.
I can’t imagine what kind of paperwork follows this, “Back to the tower.” Sam responds.
“The coven’s only a short walk from here.” You say, not needing to elaborate much more. The men have been caught and brought to justice, but you still have a broken, battered, and beaten down coven to fix.
A friend of yours was meant to go by and retrieve the… bodies. Which you’re grateful for. But magic won’t help you fix the walls, the floors, mop the blood, or find other witches in need of an escape and a place to improve and master their powers. You have a lot of work to do.
As the view of the jet gets closer, you prepare to bid your goodbyes to the Avengers, your thank you’s as well. Regardless of your attitude towards them before, you couldn’t have done this without them.
A metal hand engulfs yours, pulling you back a bit as Sam and Sharon continue on.
“Do you need any help?” Bucky’s warm and gentle voice floods your ears, hand still in yours.
“You guys have been more than enough help, now, really.” You try to tell him, but he has none of it.
“You may be tough, but you can’t fix up that house by yourself,” He tells you, “I can be pretty handy, fixed up a few things back in my day.” A soft smile grows on his face.
You glance over his shoulder as Sam and Sharon wait by the entrance of the jet, “Don’t you have to go back?”
“They won’t miss me.” He tells you, not even looking back to confirm with his teammates, hand dropping to run it through his hair.
You giggle at him, before giving him a shy nod in answer to his offer to help you fix up your big house.
“I’m going to hang out here for a few days.” He yells over his shoulder.
“We figured.” Sam calls out, and Sharon throws you a wave as they board the jet, the opening close after them.
“Lead the way?” Bucky offers you, taking your hand once more, interlocking the fingers this time.
And so the two of you are off, one of your hands still clutching the umbrella, holding it above your head, and the other hand interlaced with the one of a handsome and kind super soldier. This wasn’t the way Bucky expected the last two days to transpire, but he’s glad they led to holding the hand of a very pretty witch.

Trinity - [Tommy Shelby x Alfie Solomons x Reader]
A/N- Yes, I confess. I wrote this after two bottles of beer (which is a lot for me) and I couldn't control my freaking hormones? I couldn't choose one out of the two so I just picked them both. For those who are not a fan of Polyamory or the concept of having two men in bed, please do not read this or else you will definitely feel scandalized. Please do NOT hate, even if you do not like the concept.
Warning(s): A Scandal? (I didn't know how to classify this, atleast for the 1920s), SMUT, Porn Without Plot, Polyamory, Casual Sex, Explicit language & Cursing

Tumblr media
Camden Town, London, 1921
Alfie Solomons' voice, clear as a crystal, thick as mist, rang through the bakery; his volatility reflecting in his words. Thomas Fucking Shelby stood in a corner, unbothered, yet fazed by this sudden outburst he saw in this man.
"Jewish Women— " Alfie spat, pushing his thickly bearded face into a man's face, who was minutes back laughing at his own joke, but now looked like he could shit his pants. "You do not go anywhere near them for Jewish women for you are off the fucking menu."
Thomas rolled his eyes, almost inwardly, his cold, outer expressions remaining stoic as he brought up the lit cigarette stick to his plump lips and inhaled the smoke from it, smoke coiling around him. Alfie's grip was hard against his cane, his knuckles almost white as a sheet of snow when a sudden ruckus pulled him out of his little display of anger, causing both Tommy and Alfie to snap their heads in the direction of the door.
"Ollie, what the fuck is going on out there eh?" Alfie called out, his voice loud enough to boom all through the bakery, causing a sudden shiver run down the men's spines. Ollie ran down, his face literally puffy, his cheeks blown out, his eyes red, "We've got a fuckin' problem, one of yer lads 'ave been causing troubles."
"Fuckin' problems, all I hear about these days is FUCKING PROBLEMS!" Alfie shouted at the top of his lungs; especially when he said the last two words, words rolling out of his tongue like wildfire, full of venom. He then turned towards Tommy, all the rage disappeared, as though he never was angry, "They're all yours, Tommy Shelby, forgive me for interrupting." He then turned to Ollie and using his cane, pointing it in the direction of the door, he mumbled, "Bring 'im in." Tommy stood there, calmly, his hands buried into his trouser pockets, his eyes on the men, "Pick him up," he said, pointing in the direction of the man that Alfie had knocked down using his cane, to instill fear into these men's minds.
A few seconds later, Ollie dragged one of Alfie's lads, holding him by his arms, pushing him to walk, his face a bloodied mess.
"What the fuck happened to your face, lad?"
"He fuckin' tried to touch me with his filthy little paws is what happened." Your words spat out of your mouth, like missiles shot through the air as you were dragged into the basement by one of the boys, your arms locked behind you, tied with a rope. Your face had scratches and the hem of your skirt was ripped off, your bare thigh exposed.
Your feminine voice surprised the men in front of you, spreading a sudden silence amongst them all. The first to glance at your form was Alfie, but you also noticed the blue eyed man behind him, his pocket watch dangling from his waistcoat, a lit cigarette in his fingers. You noticed how sharp his blue eyes were, how calculating.
"Right, well, he fuckin' touched you eh?"
You noticed how this man's predatory eyes raked over your body, sending a shiver down the back of your neck, down your spine, causing you to stiffen slightly, your eyes even more enraged than they were, minutes back.
"You keep your fuckin' lads in control, Alfie, or else I will—"
"I see you do know who I am. Now where are your manners eh, pet?" You saw his hand flew up momentarily, hovering in the air, until it finally rested on his chin, scratching it lightly. "People here in Camden Town call me Mr. Solomons."
You smiled, crossing your arms over your chest, a sudden knot forming in your throat.
"And the coppers here in Camden Town call you a fuckin' cunt," Your words rolled of your lips, your voice and accent imitating that of his.
You bit back on your tongue; your father's words coming back to haunt you in the back of your mind. Your fast mouth will be the death of you love, he used to say, and maybe it will; but you didn't care, not when rage took complete control over you and your mind.
A click of a smirk crossed the blue eyed stranger's lips, and your eyes flew to him for a split second, before rolling back and fixing it on the Jewish gangster. You could see that Alfie was surprised, shocked and a little angry, you could see it in the way his lips contorted, as though he wanted to say something but had no idea what. He wasn't used to having women speak up to him in this way, and maybe that had pinched his ego, bruising his manliness. From the corner of your eye, you saw Thomas stub his cigarette, stepping on the cigarette butt as he made his way closer, fixing himself next to Alfie, his eyes on you, addressing Alfie, but his words meant as a chide remark for you.
"Since when did London start hiring women as coppers, Mr. Solomons?"
"I'm a copper's daughter." You deadpanned. A sudden silence and tension suddenly filled the air, all the men giving each other loose eyed glances, wondering what this copper's daughter's fate will be now, that she had landed into the gangsters' den herself. It was only when Alfie spoke, did the tension in the air seem to cease.
"Lad, why don't you apologize to the lady for eh, touching her without her consent?"
"Is that it then eh?" You kicked the man backwards who was holding you, causing him to lose his grip on your shoulders, giving you a minute to get free. You didn't run away, instead you went straight for the lion's den or should you say, the lions den, glaring at the Jewish gangster in the eye. "Is that all a lad should do when he tries to touch a fuckin' woman without her consent eh? Just apologize? Is that what he should say to your bloody sister when a fuckin' lad gropes her in public —"
A low, dangerous growl erupted from the man's mouth, his hand suddenly reaching out and grabbing you by your throat, and spat, "Ye don't speak to me that way, pet."
You wouldn't deny; the look in his eyes, the fire, the way he spoke and that accent, adding to it, the way he held you in a choke hold, you should have been mad, but here you were, starting to get all hot and bothered suddenly, sudden thoughts starting to creep into your mind, dirty thoughts.
"Mr. Solomons—" Thomas interjected, putting a full stop to your thoughts, his voice icy, causing him to let go off your throat. Your hand flew to your neck, where Alfie had just held you, your tongue sliding out, licking over your lips, rather seductively. It was this blue eyed man that spoke next as he stepped closer towards you, a sudden smell of cigarettes, blood and a strong eu de cologne wafting through the air, hitting your nostrils.
"Tell us then love, what would you have us do?"
"I've already broken his bloody face, I think the next time, it will be his fuckin' balls."
Your gaze was directed at Alfie's henchman, who had by now, his hands clenched tightly into fists by his sides.
"Well, you've heard the lady haven't ya lad? Now fuck off."
The man scurried away the way he had been brought in and a slow, uneasy silence took over the bakery, coming to a halt when you spoke again. You turned your back towards Alfie and nudged your hands that were tied together in a rope.
"Do you mind, Mr. Solomons?"
"Ollie" The man's voice called.
You felt Ollie loosen the binds that held your wrists and once the knot was undone, you pulled your hands to your front, watching in disdain at the marks of the rope that had blued your wrists. You winced slightly as you tried moving your wrists and shook your head. You then slowly lowered yourself, into a slight curtsy, taking one step backwards at one time until you reached the door. Then you turned on your tail and walked off, leaving the men spell bound as to what they had just witnessed.
"Looks like she knew you, Mr. Solomons." Tommy pointed out to Alfie who just turned around and swiped his index finger in the air, and all the men that were standing there started dispersing.
"Let's take the discussion to my office then eh?"
Tommy nodded and then once Alfie had walked out, he quietly walked out too, following the man. As the both of them made their way towards Alfie's study, both of them had the same thoughts running in their minds. Strangely enough, this small encounter with a woman; who had wits matching their own, a sharp tongue that they wanted to silence and the body of a seductress; had left a lasting impression on their minds. Unknown the each other, the both of them were thinking of you, as they were quietly walking towards Alfie's study.
Alfie stopped walking abruptly when he saw that the door to his study was shut. This alerted him a little and he straightened up, his grip on his cane tightening. Slowly, he placed his hand on the doorknob and the door croak open, very slowly, the first thing their eyes falling on; the form of a woman who was sat in Alfie's desk, her head resting against the comfortable backrest, her hand moving mechanically up and down as she inhaled the smoke from her lit cigarette.
"Come in, gentlemen, I was hoping you'd come." You mumbled, your eyes still shut but yet you knew they were here; the air had suddenly changed.
Alfie drew in a long, sharp breath, his eyes falling over the way your chest was moving up and down, in a rhythm while Tommy just noticed the outline of a tattoo that had managed to show a sneak peak through the neckline of the blouse you were wearing.
You fluttered your eyes open, and there in front of you, stood two of the most handsome men you had met— each having a contrasting personality and appearance; and yet appeasing and satisfying in so many aspects. You found yourself wanting to be manhandled by Alfie Solomons' rough form while at the same time, you wanted to feel Tommy Shelby's plump lips kiss you all over your body.
You slowly stood up, making an eye contact with the two devilishly handsome men standing in front of you as you walked up to them but instead, squeezed yourself through the distance between the two men and reached the door. You kicked it shut.
"You both have had two women in the same bed, haven't you?" You whispered, your voice laced with a sudden heaviness, and a budding form of desire. You had no idea who you desired more— but you wanted them both.
Tommy didn't answer, his cold, calculating gaze moving from you as he pushed past you and made his way to Alfie's liquor cabinet and grabbed three glasses, busying himself with filling them up. You figured Tommy Fucking Shelby was having a hard time digesting the fact that women were finally coming out of their shells and the city was moving forward. Or maybe, he thought that you were a woman of the night.
Alfie, however, seemed unfazed. He was almost leaning against the hardwood wall, shamelessly throwing you lustful glances. You closed the distance between you and him, fixing yourself so close to him, you could feel his hot breath on you. You were tall, but Alfie was way taller, still towering over you, making you feel weak and giddy in the knees.
"Y'know, darlin'—" You leaned closer towards him, your lips inches apart from his, "No one touches me unless I want them to."
"I must be special then, pet, you 'ave been practically throwing yerself into my fuckin' face." He growled back, at the same time, his hand coming to land on your hip, and with one jerk of a movement, he had you pressed to him, his hard body pressing against yours. You could already feel him get hard, and this didn't do anything to lighten the dull ache radiating through your core.
Perhaps, Thomas Shelby felt left out. From the corner of your eye, he slowly walked up to the door, downing the contents of his drink and reached for the doorknob when you reached out and grabbed his wrist, "Don't leave. I can't choose between a fucking Jew and a fucking Gypsy."
You pulled Tommy towards you, and this gave Alfie a chance to slide out from his cornered position by the wall. You could see that he was enjoying this. He plomped down on the couch, falling back comfortably, his legs wide open, his hand resting under his head, eyeing you. "How about fucking them both eh ? A fucking Jew and a fucking Gypsy?"
You slowly balled the fabric of Thomas Shelby's shirt, leaving a crease on it, pulling it out and leaving it untucked. You could see that the man was obnoxiously quiet, but his chest and the way he took his breaths betrayed him. He was turned on, no matter how hard he pretended not to be.
"I hope you're not religious, Mr. Shelby." You slid your tongue out, running it seductively over his left cheekbone, feeling his breathing hitch, and his hand finally lock around you, pulling you to him.
"Never was." He whispered back.
• ───━━━━─ ● ─━━━━─── •
You felt hammered, but to say the least, it was the best kind of hammered. You could taste Alfie on your lips and the way his mouth had sucked on your sweet spot and of course, the stretch and the burn from Tommy's cock as he had slammed mercilessly into you, even more fuelled up by watching a combination of your ample arse in full view in front of him, and your mouth choking on Alfie's cock, until he had finally smacked your arse hard, a sudden burning pain shooting through your body.
He had pulled out abruptly, holding his twitching cock with his palm, only to grab you by your hair and pull you away from Alfie, shoving his pulsating cock into your mouth while Alfie had switched position, planting himself just where Tommy had been mere seconds back. Without a warning, he had slammed his thickness into you, like a horse on drugs, so powerful, you felt your insides throb. The bakery was filled with your lustful moans and you screaming at the top of your lungs.
With cum running down the corner of your lips and cum trailing down your thigh, you had watched the two men collapse on the couch, with only a silk duvet cover to cover their cocks as Alfie grumbled some barely incoherent words and Tommy went back to his cold, manipulating gaze and helped you light a cigarette.
You fell gracefully in the space in the middle of the two men, not caring to cover your modesty even if someone was to walk in. You hand flew up to your lips and you took a long, lingering drag of it before there was a knock on the door. Lucky, you had locked it.
"What the fuck Ollie? Get the fuck out of here."
"It's Sabini, there are two fuckin' men outside, claim they are Sabini's men." Ollie called out from the other side of the door.
You were the first to slide out from the comfortable position. Then it was Tommy. As you slid on your underwear, Tommy pulled up his pants ,grunting slightly as Ollie continued to speak.
"What do they fuckin' want eh?" Alfie stood up, reaching for his pants.
"They say his fuckin' sister was spotted around here, an hour back."
You bit your lip hard, not wanting to smile as you buttoned up your shirt.
Tommy was the first one to turn to you, having finally understood who you were.
"You're his fucking sister."
"Don't look at me like that. I'm nothing like my brother, to think I'm here to rat you all and your little secret out eh? What you two are fuckin' best friends now?"
Tommy grabbed you by your arm, his nails almost digging into you, unlike the way you felt his nails digging into your hips in need.
"I didn't know Darby Sabini's sister had a death wish."
"Oh love, I don't. I know you two won't touch a hair on my head, because if you wanted you would have done it by now." You pushed Tommy's hand away, straightening up your shirt and running a hand through your messy hair. When you looked up, you could see two sets of eyes glaring at you, their hands itching to be the first one to hold your throat and squeeze life out of you.
"You don't get it, do you? I don't work for my brother. You secret's fucking safe with me. All the more, I think you'll need someone on the inside to help you. Killing me will only silence me for now, but one day, my fuckin' brother's gonna come looking for you. And he's sure as hell not gonna like how you two 'ave been fucking putting your cocks into his fuckin' sister."
"Do you trust her?" Tommy turned towards Alfie, completely ignoring your presence, as though you weren't in the room.
Alfie's hand flew up to his moustache as he stroked over it, his eyes fixed on you.
"I think the woman's sayin' the truth."
"Well then fuck off before Sabini himself comes over to look for you." Tommy motioned to you, his index finger pointed towards the door.
You pouted dramatically.
"I think I'd love to keep having our little fucking unholy Trinity." You winked and placed your hand on the doorknob, slowly turning it around and letting the door open. You turned back, your expressions now serious.
"Don't worry, I was never here. And —" You walked back to where both the men were, heading first to Tommy. You grabbed him by his arm and pulled him slightly, making him look like you were kissing his neck but in reality, you were whispering into his ears, "If you wanna get Sabini, get Georgie Sewell first, he is my brother's most trusted right hand man."
You then walked up to Alfie, placing a hand on his chest, and leaned in to kiss his cheek, at the same time whispering, "It's a fucking lie, he would never let yer bookies into the Epsom races. If I were you, I'd be siding with the Gypsies."
You then hurried back towards the door, the slit on the hem of your skirt still there.
"Would you go out like that? Take my coat."
Your lips curled into a smile at Tommy's words and you gave him a side glance.
"I don't want Sabini to smell you on me, love, no matter how good the two of you smell today."

The Muses - The Best Day
Kaz Brekkker x Original Characters (Platonic characters) : The Muses - The Best Day
Summary : Kaz hears a song of his sadness and is reminded of his past by three sisters
Warnings : A fight scene, angst, mention of Jordie.
Hi everyone, this is inspired by Taylor Swift's 'The Best Day' (Taylor's Version). The lyrics are Taylor Swift's, I just made a few adjustments to suit the story. This fic idea was in my head for sometime and I wanted to write it so here we are! This is my first time writing a Kaz Brekker fic so I hope I did him justice and please be gentle with me. I hope you all like it.
Tumblr media
Ketterdam was gloomy as Kaz walked through its smoky and grimy atmosphere when he heard and saw a crowd that had not been there in that spot the day before clapping and applauding as they threw coins.
Generally, he would just ignore and move past the busy bustle. He didn't care unless it bought something of profit to him. He was just about to walk away when he heard an enthusiastic voice that the crowd had gathered around ask "Happy or sad?"
"What kind of stupid question is that?" thought Kaz curiously as he drew towards the crowd who chanted "HAPPY!"
Kaz raised his eyebrows slightly as he walked through the tide of people that were attracted to this spectacle and saw three girls smiling brightly at them. The first was about seven years old, too young and too naive to be roaming about the dangerous streets of Ketterdam as she clutched onto the skirts of her older sister who was about Kaz age, her dark chestnut brown hair falling down her shoulders as she smiled at her younger sister who seemed to be about fifteen years old as she smiled mischievously at the crowd. They were all dressed in colorful but worn out skirts and blouses as they sought out money for to make a living.
"Orphans." concluded Kaz as he eyed the three of them. It was unlikely for Kaz to be distracted but something about the question had drawn him to them as he waited expectantly for them to show what them so special that they attracted so many people, tourists and passerby that flocked around them in fascination.
The oldest began to play a guitar
"I'm five years old, it's getting cold, I've got my big coat on. I hear your laugh and look up smiling at you." began the little and youngest girl with a soft and sweet voice that immediately allured everyone as she smiled up at her big sister who was playing the guitar but grinned at her "I run and run past the pumpkin patch and the cart rides, look now the sky is gold."
She slung her arms around her oldest sister's waist as she sang sweetly "I hug your legs and fall asleep on the way home."
Suddenly Kaz felt his heart ache with unbearable loneliness and misery. He could feel the soot and smoke of Ketterdam change and suddenly there he was back in the long winding green pastures and tall trees as he hugged Jordie who would tell him the most silliest stories under the shade of trees as the sunlight filtered through.
"I don't know why all the trees change in the fall. But I know you're not scared of anything at all." sang the little girl with hope and optimism in her eyes as she looked with hero worship at her oldest sister making Kaz want to beat someone to death. He couldn't breathe as for a brief moment he saw Jordie grin but then he vanished as Kaz realized it was only the oldest sister smiling. Kaz wanted the youngest sister to understand that her oldest sister was scared and it was inevitable that she was going to let him down one day. He had trusted Jordie who promised that their luck was changing and then everything had changed for the worst.
"Don't know if Snow White's house is near or far away." sang the little girl hopefully as Kaz tore his eyes away from her because she reminded him of the little naive stupid boy he had been "But I know I had the best day with you today."
The fifteen year old picked up the song where it had been left as she started singing in her rich voice with a mischievous smile "I'm thirteen now and don't know how my friends could be so mean."
Kaz saw a vivid picture in his head of the story spun by the song as he eyed the second sister who looked fondly at her oldest sister "I come home crying and you hold me tight and take the cart."
"And we drive and drive until we found a town far enough away." sang the fifteen year old girl with a grin as she spun around dramatically making everyone laugh "And we talk and window shop, till I've forgotten all their names."
Kaz heart clenched as he remembered how Jordie and him had first arrived in Ketterdam, with a cheque sewn in the coat and ambitious to make it. He remembered how they were just two farm boys dazzled by the lights and vibrance of the Ketterdam as they would walk through all of the hustle and bustle, looking at the intriguing and pretty things in the shops and how Jordie would buy him omelette to eat from the omelette stands. Those days seemed to be a picture in his mind, frozen behind glass but to the little boy who believed in magic and held his brother's hand, it was the best days of his life.
"I don't know who I'm gonna talk to now at school. But I know I'm laughing on the cart ride home with you." sang the fifteen year old girl mischievously as she nudged her oldest sister and planted a sloppy kiss on her cheek making her sisters laugh while the crowd fawned over them.
Kaz heart clenched painfully as he looked at the three sisters grinning as he thought of Jordie "Don't know how long it's gonna take to feel okay but I know I had the best day with you today!"
Kaz eyes fell on the oldest sister who strummed the guitar contentedly as she began to sing alluringly and powerfully "I have an excellent father. His strength is making me stronger. The Saints smile on my little sisters. Inside and out, they are better than I am."
"We can agree on that." thought Kaz breathlessly, thankful for his cane for his knees had buckled when he had heard the oldest sister sing for the first time. Her voice was lovely and powerful yet made him feel at peace, something that he thought he would never encounter in this godforsaken town full of bloodshed and chaos. She was a siren in human form and he couldn't stop himself from being drawn to her as he listened to her alluring singing.
"I grew up in a pretty house and I had space to run and I had the best days with you." sang the oldest sister sweetly as she looked at her sisters with a lovely smile.
"There's a memory I remembered from back when I was three." sang the fifteen old girl theatrically pretending to think but it wasn't insincere. There was a true sincerity and warmth in this song that drew everyone who needed it the most. "You set up a paint set in the kitchen and you're talking to me."
It was painful for Kaz to listen as he felt himself drown in the ocean of memories full of Jordie. Jordie laughing. Jordie smiling. Jordie ruffling his hair. Jordie chasing him through the farm -
The little girl sang as she clutched onto her sister's waist as the crowd sank and settled into the warmth of the song "It's the age of princesses and pirate ships and seven dwarfs."
Jordie and Kaz Rietvald. Until he let Kaz down.
"And daddy's smart and mother's the prettiest lady in the whole wide world." sang the oldest sister with a reminiscent soft smile but Kaz felt the sadness in her voice.
"And now I know why the all the trees change in the fall." sang the three of them together warmly with soft and sweet smiles as they looked at each other "I know you were on my side, even when I was wrong."
"And I love you for giving me your eyes, staying back and watching me shine and I didn't know if you knew..." sang all three of them together as the song came to an end and Kaz looked at the sky with hidden tears as sudden sentiment and warmth engulfed him as he thought of Jordie who was watching over him "So I'm taking this chance to say that I had the best day with you today."
He always had control over his emotions but he swallowed his lump of emotions as he looked at the three girls who had no idea of the impact they had over the cold hearted Bastard of the Barrel.
Everyone was applauding and throwing kruge to their hats as they bowed and thanked them as the fifteen year old said "Oh thank you, thank you, you're generous! You've been marvelous!"
"I'm Isabelle" said the second oldest with a charming grin as she winked cheekily.
"I'm Dora." said the little young one
"And I'm Lily." said the oldest girl with a smile "We're the Muses!"
Kaz took a few kruge from his pocket and discreetly slipped it into Lily's hat.
This did not go unnoticed by her as her eyes widened slightly but she smiled warmly and gratefully at him. He didn't smile back, he didn't even know what possessed him to give his precious kruge to them. He had expected them to be mediocre just like the morons who tried to make it in the Barrel but failed. But there was something different about them, they exuded the warmth of home and understanding that the Barrel was deprived of.
As they collected their money stuffing them into their coats Kaz saw Councilman Romkan march through the crowds. Judging by his displeased facial expression, he was not here to pay the girls to perform at a concert.
"You! You are being a public disturbance and menace!"
"Ah Councilman Romkan, judging by your face that economy isn't in your favor eh?" asked the Isabelle cheekily with a salute as the Lily strummed a merry tune on her guitar "How can we help?"
Kaz noticed Dora sneaking away as she used the chaos to her advantage "Stop singing! You have no talent at all!"
"You should quit being a Councilman. You promise justice but you are cruel to those most in need!" stated Lily in a steely and cold voice with no warmth as everyone around her gasped. She didn't flinch but stood her ground and Kaz lips twitched slightly in admiration as she raised her eyebrows at the reddened Councilman "I thought we were being truthful."
"Arrest the little thieves for stealing the money!"
But Lily merely gasped as she looked at her sister pointing an accusing finger at her "You stole the money!? YOU STOLE THE MONEY? Guards, arrest her!
"You dare impugn my honor? She was the one who was stealing!" exclaimed Isabelle dramatically as she shoved her sister while Kaz rolled his eyes but watched this amusing scene unfold where the guards seemed to be clueless as to who to arrest "ARREST HER! SHE TRICKED THESE INNOCENT PEOPLE AND TOOK THEIR MONEY!"
Lily looked outraged "I'm the thief? Why don't you take a look at the mirror?"
"You better give them back the money you stole or -" began Isabelle theatrically as the whole crowd cheered when she seized a sword from a guard "En guard!"
Kaz knew he should be moving because time was money but he really wanted to see how this ended. He noticed that Councilman Romkan had lost control of the situation, the guards didn't know what to do and the two sisters were putting on a dramatic show for the purpose of enticing and entertaining the crowd who were now loving them as they cheered for the two sisters to cut each other to ribbons, the Councilman forgotten. He was curious to see how they would get out of this.
"Oh you are challenging me? I will give you the honor of a quick and painless death!" snapped Lily as she took a rapier from another guard who was startled but did nothing to stop it.
She waved the rapier at her sister with a challenging smirk as everyone gasped and cheered when the swords clashed as Lily said loudly "Any last words?"
"I will cut you into pieces and feed you to the dogs!" snarled Isabelle as she pushed away her sister who was suppressing a grin.
Meanwhile Kaz didn't know whether to be annoyed, exasperated or simply amused at the sensational shenanigans these two were pulling. It was obvious to him that they weren't really fighting each other, they are distracting the crowd so they could get out of trouble. They didn't fight like enemies, they just bickered as they acted theatrically and dramatically as if they now hated each others guts when they just wanted to escape the mess they were in.
"Oh all talk, no action. Let your sword prove your words!"
"I will! Take that" yelled Isabelle as she swung her sword which her sister ducked as they blocked their attacks impressing Kaz as they made their way through the square.
Isabelle jumped on the table of a coffee house as she swung her sword at her sister who blocked it as they both jumped from table to table making their way to a house "You little mincing barrel rat!"
They could act, Kaz would give them that. Their true calling was on stage, not groveling in a dirty streets of Ketterdam. He hadn't been to a theatre but this was the best show he had seen in a long time and it took only just two mad, funny and loyal sisters who had captured the attention of their audience who were now gasping and squealing and cheering, worried for the actors in the stage.
Kaz raised his eyebrows as his lips twitched when they fought each other as they climbed the crates leading to the roof of a house as both of them made it onto the roof and the crates fell down.
"Cheat!"
"Liar!"
"Thief!"
"That's a compliment in Ketterdam!"
Kaz was impressed at how they maintained balance while fighting each other and finally Isabelle acquired Lily's sword and the crowd who had been holding a breath let out thunderous cheers as Isabelle pointed the sword at Lily's throat. Kaz lips twitched as Lily rolled her eyes and he knew what was going to happen next.
Lily brushed the dirt off her clothes as she announced over the applause with a bright grin "Ladies and gentlemen, we've decided it's a draw!"
Isabelle handed over a sword to her sister as she twirled her own sword with a smile as she bowed "Thank you all for coming! You've been great!"
Lily grinned like an idiot as she blew kisses to their beloved audience "We couldn't have done it without you! See you soon!"
Kaz' eyes burned in hidden curiousity hoping the wouldn't do something so stupid... And in that moment, Lily's eyes met his as he raised his eyebrows at her.
Oh in the name of his precious kruge, they were going to do it.
The two sisters waved at the crowd as they laughed in amusement as they jumped from the roof to the other side ignoring the shouts of the guards as they grinned at their little sister Dora who was waiting for them. They hugged Dora glad they were all safe and decided to do what they always did.
Run without looking back and laugh without holding back.
Because everyday spent with each other was the best day ever.
Kaz stared at the rooftop where the two sisters had previously stood as he heard the echoes of their amused laughter at having fooled everyone and escaped with their lives. He briefly wondered whether they were alright but it was none of his business. It was not his business to care about every poor orphan that scuttled around in the Barrel unless they were valuable to him.
For a brief moment, he felt the joy and amusement, the warmth of home and understanding that he had felt back when Jordie was alive.
But then he shut it out.
Because he could not afford to be sentimental. He could not afford to be weak. Those three sisters could look after themselves.
"Can they, Kaz?" asked Jordie's laughing voice that rang in his head mocking him "Can they really look after themselves?"
Hi, so let me know what you think. I'm thinking of continuing this but I'm not sure.

Dating HC [Main four + Denki]
Tumblr media
Todoroki Shouto
Dates with this boy would include lots of PDA
he didn’t get enough as a kid so when you popped into his life, expect him to ask for cuddles.
Honestly, reading dates and coffee/tea dates.
Shoto would love a date where it’s just you and him without the whole whole world bothering the two of you.
Would take you to meet his mother as he get’s more comfortable with you.
Expect lots of back hug from this man.
He lives for being hugged out of nowhere
like come running at him for a hug
he will drop everything just to catch you.
Loves to nuzzle into your neck
like neck kisses anywhere
Play with his hair while he’s laying on your lap
Like this boy will fall asleep fast while you’re doing that.
Like just Imagine-
You and Shouto are laying in his backyard, just basking in each other’s presence, him laying on your lap, his brown and blue eyes watching your face as you toyed with his hair. The soft touches making his mind hazy with sleep. You smiled as his lips curved up into a soft smile, his eyes fluttering shut as his breathing slowed into a steady pace
Like, imagine the Todoroki Shoto sleeping on you,
Like-
Anyways, expect this male to be very blunt with his feelings towards you,
Like he will say ‘I love you’, once the two of you are both comfortable with it, out of no where and in front of everyone.
Anyway
You aren’t meeting his dad at all!!
Tumblr media
Bakugou Katsuki
First off,
Explosion boy get’s jelly easily
Like, hang out with the girls, he’s jealous.
Train with Kirishima instead of him, he’ll drag you away from ‘shitty hair’ as fast as you can say Plus Ultra-
This boy is possessive.
Will pull you into random kisses just to show the guys who you belong to
Is into holding your hand, because it’s so small compared to his.
It’s also way softer then his calloused ones
He will say you’re ‘too slow’ just to grab your hand and ‘drag’ you, cause he’s a tsuntsun
This boy will send you texts like “Go to sleep dumbass” and “If you’re tired during class it’s your fault”
when he just mean for you too sleep, because he cares about you.
Play with this boy’s hair!!!!
Like run your fingers through his hair, he will calm down like nothing happened.
“Bakugou, you cannot place your feet on the desk! It’s disrespectful!” Iida exclaimed, making his weird chopping motions with his hands again. “Like I could care less four eyes.” Katsuki sneered, rolling his eyes at his blue haired school mate.
“Katsuki, be nice!” You exclaimed, walking up to the to the two guys, moving your hand up to run it through Katsuki’s soft blond locks. The blond’s eyes narrowed as he moved his feet off of the desk, crossing his arms over his chest as he slumped down into his chair, with a pout on his face.
“That wasn’t so hard was it?” You beamed, turning around to apologize to Iida for your boyfriend’s behaviour.
“Y/N HOW?” your classmates exclaimed, making you smile at them, “Just be nice to Katsuki!” You explained, making the whole class sweat drop.
Okay okay, there’s your small scenario
But like dates with this boy-
Your first date would be at an amusement park, fight me
(I’ll make a different head canon for first dates if you guys want)
Tumblr media
Izuku Midoriya
Shy boy loves holding your hand
He will slip his hand into yours whenever you’re next to him
If you like All Might-
Expect him to geek out to you, (which is adorable not matter what, fight me)
Give this boy hugs
Like let this boy hide his face in your chest.
he will die-
like-
Izuku is the type of boyfriend who would send you “Good morning” and “good night” texts.
Also the type of bf who would tell you to sleep if you’re staying up too late, and who would act like an alarm clock, calling you when you need to get up for school.
Honestly Izuku makes my heart go uwu
OMG
This boy would take you to meet his mom
and be embarrassed the whole time.
“Oh, you must be Y/n! Izuku talks about you alot! You made my little boy so happy you know?” Inko said as she let the both of you in, ushering you to take a seat as Izuku goes to place his things in his room.
Izuku’s eyes widen as he exits his All Might themed room, watching in horror as his mom shows you baby pictures of him. “Mom!” Izuku exclaims as he sees a picture of him in an All Might onesie. “Awww, Izu you’re so cute!” You squeal at how cute your boyfriend was.
Izuku’s face turned a bright red as he heard you call him cute, making him slouch down on the couch next to you.
“Here’s a picture of Izuku acting like All Might-””MOM”
Anywho-
Having this boy and your bf is amazing
I headcannon that he can cook so-
He’ll make you bentos and like-

Tumblr media
Kirishima Eijirou
Okay, you can fight me but-
This boy just wants to show you off
“Oh, my Y/n is so strong!! Did you see them spar today with Todoroki?”
“Did you see Y/n take down that villain? They’re so strong!”
Like this boy just wants to show the world how amazing you are and how much he loves you.
This boy man will hold you like it’s the last time he’s ever going to.
He will come from behind just to grab you and lift you up
Will drop everything to catch you-
Wants to kiss you infront of everyone because he knows that some people cough cough Bakugou, Denki, Sero, Mina, and Jirou cough cough Might have a crush on you.
But he won’t force you if you’re uncomfortable because that breaks the ‘Manly code’
But if you kiss him first-
Okay okay, back on topic
Kiri is one of the best boyfriends ever
He will do anything for you, as long as it’s sane and not dangerous
Hug for days
This man gives the best hugs ever
You’d think hugs with him would be weird cause of all that bulk he’s built up, but no
they’re warm and cozy
Facetime calls everyday when you guys don’t see eachother.
“Hmmm, Eiji do you think I look weird today?” You asked, turning the camera around to show the mirror you were looking at, to show your red haired boyfriend what you were wearing, a simple black pleated tennis skirt and a red long sleeve. “babe if you look weird then I look even worse.” Eijirou stated through the phone, watching as you posed for him in the mirror.
“Am I over dressed?” You asked, pulling your skirt, making the top of your thigh highs show. “Aren’t you just going out with the girls?” Eijirou asked, watching as you fixed your sleeves. You hummed as a reply, placing your phone down to put on a necklace.
“I think you look perfect, so...” Your boyfriend trailed off, making you giggle. “You think I look good in everything.” you said playfully as you rolled your eyes, making the redhead chuckle, “Well, it’s cause you do silly.” he said honestly, making your face dust with pink.
“S-shut up”
“But i’m just being honest?”
Okay, I went a bit overboard on that scenario,
but I couldn’t leave it unfinished.
Kiri is the type of bf who sends you morning and night texts,
saying how much he misses you and everything.
basically 100/100 boyfriend material
Tumblr media
Kaminari Denki
Fight me but I love this bot
Honestly one of the best boyfriends-
Like-
Will play any video game with you
OMG
Dates while playing Animal Crossing like-
If you’re feeling sad, he will crack a joke to make you laugh
even if the joke makes Bakugou want to kill him-
Oooooooooo
he loves to brag to him friends about how he has an s/o to his friends
“Oh yeah, aren’t you guys still lonely?”
“yeah, my s./o is pretty hot”
“I confessed first, cause I am a man after all”
But you confessed first because Denki’s a wuss
He loves holding your hand
Like will simp just to hold your hand
This boy will kiss you everywhere
If you’re just trying to eat lunch, he will plant a soft kiss on your cheek just to see you blush
He loves to distract you by kissing your nose
“So you have to bring x over here-” You were trying to explain an equation to your blond boyfriend, only to lose track of what you were saying as he placed a small kiss on your nose, making your face blush a harsh red.
“Why are you like this Denki?” You whined, digging your face into your hands, making the blond laugh at your expression. “But you love me anyway so?” he teased, wrapping an arm around your shoulder, pulling you into his chest, making you even more red.
“Don’t hold me!” You said out loud embarrassingly, pushing his chest away with your palm. “Oh, baby but I know you want me to hold you.” Denki teased once more, making you give up and letting him hold you.
“See!” He exclaimed, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head making you hum.
“Now can you please explain this to me?”
 Honestly
I love this man child
So-
He will tease you till the death of you
Like, if you’re shorter then him,
“Is that too tall for you to reach?”
“Do you need my help?”
he’d ask as whatever you need is placed a few inches above of you.
Will grab what you need and hold it up just to see you jump and pout.
Now if you’re taller then him
“How’s the weather up there?”
“Is that too far down for you to reach?”
He will ask you even if you’re just like an inch taller then him.
Anywho-
100% good boyfriend
just a big tease

I’d love to see a giant!Shuichi with Kaito and Maki. Perhaps a modified training time?
Tumblr media
Absolutely! This is one of the top 3 asks that's been in the inbox and I'm a little sad it took so long to deliver, hope you all enjoy either way!
____
Word count: 1500
Summary: Kaito drags Maki far from school for training. She already isn't fond of training itself, but she likes it even less so when a dangerous individual joins them tonight.
____
It hadn't crossed Maki's thoughts that as a space enthusiast, Kaito would know the best spots for stargazing. But as he lead her through the dark depths of the woods, she thought it was the only reasonable explanation.
"We're almost there, just a little longer," the boy tugged her hand and walked ahead, leading the way as if she could somehow get lost on her own. She didn't retreat her hand, though.
Soon enough, they reached what Maki guessed was a clearing, exceptionally clear of trees too; a stark contrast to the thick woods they'd walked through with its closely-knit trees. Kaito cupped his hands and called out in the air, "Hey, Shuichi! Look who I brought."
She followed his eyes up towards the sky. Her mind blanked when she didn't see the starry sky but rather two moons- no; a pair of eyes peering down at her. The longer she stared, the clearer the shape of a head followed the eyes, likely taller than her whole, and the more she felt the nerves in her brain tangle up.
"Kaito!" She breathed out, in unison with whatever monstrosity hid in the shadows. The voice made her step back despite her best effort not to.
"Relax you t- Whoa whoa whoa whoa, hey! What's this?" Kaito pointed an accusatory finger at her. She followed his glare and found a knife in her fist she hadn't realized she'd grabbed. She wouldn't drop it, though.
"Kaito, you didn't tell me we would- you didn't tell me about this." She pointed with her knife at the giant- human- thing that stood a good thirty meters above her head. "Of course I'll bring something to defend myself if you bring me into your death traps all the times." She grabbed his arm and dragged him back on their track.
"Hold on, he's an okay guy, trust me! We train together every night and I thought you two could become good friends so that's why-" a sharp yank made him stumble forward and silenced him. She hurried on before she could feel any tremors following them.
"An okay guy? Do you hear yourself? That's what I mean by deathtraps, you can't make the entire world into your own big friend group." She replayed his words in her mind and sucked in a sharp breath. "How long have you been coming here? You're not meeting that- whatever again."
Maki felt a hand fall on her shoulder to make her halt, or at least attempt to. She only stopped to glance back at taller (but at least human) boy, still more focused on their surroundings.
"Why can't you trust me? Shuichi is a good guy and my friend. You could try to see for yourself, but if you won't then you can leave and I won't stop you." Before she could reply, he slipped from her grip and walked back.
The crazy moron. He surely didn't have anything to defend himself besides his fists and speeches. If anything happened to him she would be left alone to deal with the aftermath. Knowing him, no amount of force or reasoning would change his mind. Maki felt like tearing her hair off, but instead, she followed after him and made sure to smack the back of his head when she caught up.
"You'll regret this," she kept a firm grip on the knife under her skirt. Kaito only gave her a bright grin and didn't reply.
Once back to square one, it took a moment for the impossibly large face to appear above them again, half-hidden behind thick leaves.
"Kaito, this is a bad idea, you should let her leave." Maki watched the boy move and talk. Nothing looked odd about his face or behaviour, nor his speech. How strange it felt to look at someone so normal-looking, only scaled up to tower over her.
"How is this bad? He invited me to train, so I'll stay." Time crawled by before the being stepped out and sat across from her. Somehow assigning a body to the head made it less freakish, if only a bit.
He lifted his hand, and rather than grabbing her he only gave a feeble wave. "Besides Kaito I never got anyone to stay long enough to converse. Humans usually run away when they see me, so I don't know what to say... But hi, I don't bite." Kaito moved beside the giant... and gave him a pat on the knee.
"Well, this didn't go so bad, now did it?" Two glares settled heavy on the boy, and he audibly gulped. "R-Right. Anyway, it's fifty push-ups and sit-ups for today, and no slacking off." Kaito took his coat off and got to work right then. The girl looked up at the giant boy and he stared back; both looked at Kaito, blatantly ignorant or blissfully unaware of his absurdity. They followed his suit.
Maki finished the 'training' in a breeze. "I'm done," she didn't wait for a reply before stepping back to lean on a tree and watch over the duo. Kaito lay on his back without a care for push-ups, but Maki was more interested in the giant moving in what seemed like awkward warm-ups.
Even his smallest movement sent tremors under her threatened to make her lose balance. More than once did his feet get stuck between two trees, bending them and breaking twigs in dozens with only a twitch of his limb. Anytime he caught her peeking, his face would flush and he would look away, as would she. Kaito was as crazy as she'd judged seeing how close he stayed to 'Shuichi', who at least did try to keep his distance. What stupidy did he have stored in his brain, if he could stand to be so close to a guy so tall a flick of his fingers could snap his spine?
"I'm really glad you two met. Training with two people separately every night was starting to wear me out... Forget I said that." Kaito held his hand up to the sky and formed different angles with his fingers. Maki wondered which constellations he was looking at; she also wondered how training could tire him out when he always ended up stargazing halfway through.
The- Shuichi (the name left a strange aftertaste in her throat) abandoned training as well in favour of laying down on his stomach and laying his head down in crossed arms much too close to Kaito, who didn't acknowledge him. She had to wonder just how long the two had known each other; Kaito could make a week-long friendship feel like a lifelong one.
"Maki, right?" The voice startled her enough to flinch. She re-tightened her grip on her knife and looked at the giant boy, acknowledging him with a short nod. "Kaito's told me a bit about you.'
"He did? What did he say?" The idea of her conversations being laid bare to a stranger made her hair stand on its ends. She took a couple steps closer to the two boys.
"Nothing too interesting, the usual 'I'll befriend her whether she likes it or not' that he says about everyone. I only remember your name since he kept bringing it up." Large hazel eyes drifted to Kaito's resting form, pensive. "There was something you kept saying, too. What was it...?"
"Hey, not cool!" Kaito's eyes shot open, "You can't reveal the private stuff-" His face bumped into the giant's nose, silencing him.
"I remember now!" His hand came towards Kaito. Whatever he was about to say or do, Maki would never know, as she charged for his hand and ran her knife through its palm.
"Maki!" An arm reached around her waist and pulled her away. She turned around and found something almost hurt in the boy's expression that made her mind stop for a second, before looking him up and down and reminding herself she was responsible for his safety.
"No, it's fine. Being around me takes some getting used to." She glanced back at Shuichi, who kept his hand on the ground, as if hiding his scar in embarrassment. She would have liked to at least see her work. "Do me a favour, though, and don't ever aim for my eyes or something, 'cause that would end badly," He got up and stepped back away from them, but she swore there was a threatening hint in his tone.
Silence stretched on as the two underwent a stare-down, with Kaito stuck in-between and stuttering to sort the situation out. "Ah- look, it's getting late. We should get going. See ya, Shuichi."
"Right. Good night, Kaito," And when she turned around to leave, certain he would ignore her (and glad if he did), "I'll look forward to seeing you again, Maki."
She didn't reply and kept going forward. Kaito soon caught up to her. "I didn't know you were the scaredy type. Anyway, this didn't go as bad as I thought... if only you could put that knife away. Wh-Where'd you even get that? Anyway, you're coming tomorrow?"
A frown tugged at her lips, and she was quick to pull it back. She still had to come to make sure Shuichi wouldn't try anything. "We'll see."
