I have absolutely no idea what that Scottish idiot said but if 53 year old David Tennant can climb a tree, snap a branch and then keep climbing, only to jump back down when it was time and compare himself to a mountain goat, I feel like I can do anything.

have you seen the super blurry video of the 4 of them at the Oliver awards?? I what really gets me is Michael stepping into the person behind him.
https://www.instagram.com/stories/davidtennant_daily/3347586970874865569?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igsh=MWhjbHM4azBiMmt0Zg==
Yes, I have indeed seen the blurry video that's been going around this afternoon. I know some folks were having difficulty seeing it, so I will post it here:
I think probably the first thing I thought was that this video is too short to really draw any full-on conclusions (to quote Buffalo Springfield, "There's something happening here. What it is ain't exactly clear..."), and to wonder where the heck it came from. (It was posted as a story on a fan page on Instagram, but there's no indication of who recorded it or why it was publicized to begin with.)
Beyond that, though, and because we do not have a context for what is happening (although given the folder David is holding, it looks like it was filmed around when the group photo was taken), I am just looking at the things that are most plainly visible. One of which is what you mentioned, with Michael jerking back suddenly into the woman behind him. It's been suggested that Anna touched Michael's arm to guide him to move because the other woman was trying to pass through. When I watched it again, though, it looked more like the order of events was Anna reached for Michael's arm, he visibly pulled back right when she made contact, and then the other woman moved to keep from colliding with him. That is my interpretation, at any rate.
It also looks like a conversation is happening (possibly between Michael and Georgia, with David in the middle), and Michael seems to look somewhat agitated. Georgia, who is on the right of the frame, appears to then slap her hand to get their attention. This very well could be because it was loud, there were a lot of people talking, and it was difficult to hear. Given how close she is standing to David, though, Georgia could have also just put a hand on his arm the way Anna did with Michael, but she didn't, and I'm a bit perplexed as to why. The hand slap actually reminded me of a school headmistress, or something Judge Judy would do, because those are the only two people I think I've ever seen do a gesture like that.
Whatever her reasons, it seemed to work, as David's head snapped up right away. I did notice though that Michael continued talking (perhaps possibly determined to get whatever point he was making across), and it gave me the feeling that he and Georgia were having a bit of a back-and-forth/fighting for David's attention. (I guess that means the answer to the question of, "Can Michael fight?" is "Yes, if David Tennant is involved".) It could also be that AL was trying to sooth him/get him to be more agreeable to whatever Georgia was saying, but it doesn't seem like that really worked.
Again, it's a very short video and without context it's hard to say anything definitive, but that is my interpretation. I'd still like to know where in the world this video even came from, especially because it seems to cut off so suddenly, giving the impression that there was more. Strange days indeed...

Kamala Harris shines in Oprah interview . . . while Trump preemptively blames Jewish voters if he loses
September 20, 2024
Robert B. Hubbell
Kamala Harris appeared on a live event on Thursday hosted by Oprah Winfrey. The interview took place in a friendly setting but was remarkable, nonetheless. Harris is an empathetic, emotionally intelligent, skilled communicator who excels in one-on-one conversations that provide room for her humanity to shine through. As I write, the event is ongoing, but it has already addressed difficult and important issues. But no issue (so far) has been more powerful than the discussion of Trump's abortion bans.
The entire event is here, and I urge you watch it: Harris speaks at campaign event with Oprah in Michigan.
Oprah Winfrey’s producers included a short video on the life and preventable death of Amber Thurman, whose tragic story was revealed by Pro Publica on Wednesday. Amber experienced complications from mifepristone, sought medical care, and was turned away by physicians because she “wasn’t near enough to death” to qualify for a “life of the mother” exception under North Carolina’s abortion ban. By the time doctors were ready to treat Amber, it was too late. She died from complications that could have easily been prevented by earlier intervention. See NBC, How Georgia's LIFE Act killed Amber Thurman.
After the video played, Oprah turned to Amber’s mother and sisters, who spoke eloquently about Amber’s death. Many in the audience were moved to tears. Kamala Harris was visibly anguished by the testimonial of grief by Amber’s mother and sisters.
Oprah then turned to Kamala Harris and said, “What do you want to say, Madame Vice President?” Harris turned to Amber’s mother and sisters and said,
I am just so sorry.
Kamala let her statement hang in the air for a moment of stillness and silence—so that its impact could be absorbed by Amber’s mother and sisters and the audience. The seven-minute video clip of the segment is here: "I am just so sorry." | Kamala Harris on Amber Thurman.
Kamala Harris’s statement was remarkable because it was entirely selfless and completely focused on comforting Amber’s mother and sisters. Few politicians can summon the ability to be genuine and empathetic especially while at a campaign event. Donald Trump has never uttered similar words to anyone in any context.
If Americans are waiting to “get to know” Kamala Harris, the Oprah interview is essential viewing. Share the links included in this newsletter with someone who would benefit from seeing Kamala Harris in an informal setting talking about important issues.
There were many powerful and important moment in the interview. If you can, watch it all. But if you can’t, here are two segments that you should consider sharing.
Oprah asked Harris, “What is in your heart to say to the American people as we head into November 5, especially people who are undecided?” Harris gave a positive, affirming view of America’s future, framing her answer in terms of what we are fighting for, not what we are fighting against. If you only watch one clip, this should be the one: "Freedom worth fighting for." | Kamala Harris.
At the end of the interview, Oprah made a strong pitch for viewers to vote for Kamala Harris. The clip is here: "This is the moment." | Oprah Winfrey. Share it widely!
Oprah said,
For all of you watching who are still on the fence, in the middle, independent as I am, or whether you just still don't know what you're gonna do. This is the moment for all decent and caring people who want the best for yourself and other people. This is the moment for people who are tired of all of the bickering and all of the name-calling, people who are exhausted by the craziness and the made up stories and the conspiracies. This is the moment you wanna get on with your life because you know that we can do better and that we deserve better. You know this, I know you know this, I know you feel this. I know this is what you're saying amongst yourselves. We're better than this. And as my friend and mentor Maya Angelou always said, ‘When you know better, you got to do better.’ So, let's do better and vote for Kamala Harris
It is worth the effort to amplify Oprah’s endorsement. She is one of the most influential Americans of our generation. Let me share with you how I came to realize that fact.
I was preparing for a high-stakes trial about fifteen years ago. As usual, my client wanted to run a mock jury simulation with test jurors selected from the same zip code as the real jurors.
Each mock juror filled out a 200-item questionnaire. The first question was, “Who is your hero?” I thought that was an interesting question, so I said to the jury consultant, “That’s interesting. What types of answers do you get to that question?”
The jury consultant replied, “Oh, we disregard that question.” I asked, “Why?” He replied, “Because the answer is overwhelmingly the same person across all jury pools, so it doesn’t really tell us anything.”
So, I had to ask, “Who is it?” The jury consultant replied, “Oprah Winfrey.”
I then went home and started telling my wife the story. As soon as I described the first item on the jury questionnaire (“Who is your hero?”), my wife said, “Oprah Winfrey.” It was at that moment that I became a believer in Oprah Winfrey's power and influence.
So, share Oprah’s endorsement far and wide! She is held in high esteem by most Americans! And share the clips of Kamala Harris’s shining performance! (To do so, right-click on the blue hyperlink, select “Hyperlink,” then select “Copy Hyperlink.” Go to a new document or social media post, right click where you want to insert the clip, and select “Paste.”)
Meanwhile, Trump preemptively blames Jewish voters if he loses the election
Speaking at an event billed as a summit on antisemitism in America, Trump seemed to preemptively blame Jewish voters if he loses. He said,
The Jewish people would have a lot to do with a loss. It’s only because of the Democrat hold, or curse, on you.
See WaPo, Trump says if he loses election, Jewish voters would have ‘a lot’ to do with it. (This article is accessible to all.)
Blaming Jewish people for political setbacks has a long and ugly history. It is time for the media to condemn Trump's antisemitism, not merely report on it.

so i'm watching "rivals", only because georgia tennant was promoting it heavily on her instagram and her husband looked really really hot in the promo material (like, hotter than i've seen him in years. i mean wtf).
btw, funny story, georgia was also promoting - even more heavily and for an even longer time - an audiobook that she recorded. called "rivals". it took me an embarrassingly long time to clock that it was literally the same story, one being the template of the other. sometimes i'm very slow okay, don't look at me.
anyway, i can't say i'm enjoying it much? it's an okay story, but i feel like i'm missing a shit ton of cultural context (not being british, and maybe a teeny bit too young as well). i also really should have turned on the subtitles. there's SO MUCH posh mumbling! especially from mr. tennant himself, who, ironically, is much more intelligible to me when he turns his scottish up to 11 than when he does this. so there's a lot of dialogue that i just didn't catch and frankly didn't care enough about to try harder.
but i will turn on the subtitles going forward. because yes, i'm gonna continue watching. it might grip me yet.

Okay here’s my Prom Dates (Hulu) thoughts:
I’ll try not to include spoilers
Nine out of ten, again mostly cause of the vomit and the more not my thing moments (there were only two so not terrible but I’m asexual and they’re not for me) and also that b!ood scene which was actually fantastic (as a whole) I just, that specific moment if you know you know.
I liked the ending because it really felt genuine (well, as genuine as that whole thing could be but I really think it was) it wasn’t pushing for one specific type of happy ending that you assume they’re gonna do or everyone should have, but you also feel a sense of completeness.
Like, the story rounded itself out okay I think. I kind of had an idea of specific key things cause of the trailer but it was still a sort of nice surprise.
(It did kind of stop to load at one specific point and every time I rewound it did it right there so, I don’t think I missed anything but there could be a ten second section I missed which is fine cause the moment was a transition anyway)
Second Cousin. Just- second cousin.
One of my favorite lines -out of context for spoilers sake- was “here’s the hundred dollar bill my Bubbie gave me for my graduation”
(I just watched it and I can’t even remember if that’s the line but it’s was basically that)
It obviously had a Julia Lester so that’s a win on its own, there’s not much out there to watch of her except binging HSMTMTS for the seventh time (which is lovely but I have adhd and that’s not always a practical choice), and even the random guest appearances of Nick shows and the one Netflix show (I get bored and look through IMDB of random actors sometimes to find jems, and my sisters two credit page cause it still boggles my mind that they named a goat after her)
are fifty/fifty on finding if you’re specifically looking for her (and unrelated to this movie but saylor too whats up with Netflix only having two random seasons for each Nick show on there? I do have paramount but my nostalgia trip childhood tv show rabbit hole is not for the shared family account)
Honestly I need her to be in more things because this was great. Unfortunately it’ll probably take a while considering things are just getting up and running again after the strike, but I’ll gladly wait for more of her.
Also the Ginny and Georgia girl was in it?? I only watched a bit of that show cause my sister said to so I only know that Sav from Degrassi is in it but I’ve heard things about Ginny from tik tok doom scrolls and it’s kind of crazy to see her here.
It’s like “Rihanna, what are you doing here?”
I liked the dog? She looked fluffy like my bunny Rocky.
I especially liked that one scene (again the one with the kind of horrendous b!ood moment) just, -sort of spoiler- all those frat guys and she just happens to be there.
I particularly liked the song. It was a ten out of ten fake medium okay performance from an actual broadway musical tony nominee actress and I loved every second of it.
All in all, I loved it. Even the Italian guy.

Brief considerations on finishing The Great:
The conspiracy theory hill I'm dying on that it was cancelled because execs mistakenly believed Nicholas Hoult was the star, when really he was just as excellent at scene-stealing as his character needed him to be.
I'll not forgive them for Orlo's arc. How did our ace king get sidelined into a relationship and then killed off without any attempt to give him the growth given to all the others? (I say growth, though really it's just as often regression that I mean. Anyway Archie, Grigor, Marial, even George to a degree! etc etc all change while still being themselves and still finding a place in the story. I don't know why that couldn't be done for Orlo). I'm not doing a headcount, but it does feel like the main cast and surrounding recurring characters were notably less diverse by the end of S3 - and now we don't even get to see whether Arkady gets a chance to grow from his brief flirtation with power.
NEVERTHELESS though that primed me to hate season 3 it was amazing. Holy SHIT the script on this baby. Utterly florid and absurd and vulgar and punching you in the solar plexus repeatedly about grief and love and loyalty and being human!!! Every time Elizabeth in particular opens her mouth I'm like 'this is bonkers but it's beautiful and it works so well!' Jenny-Slate-screaming-meme.png
Marial never did anything wrong ever. No this has nothing to do with Phoebe Fox's big brown eyes and sarcastic little smirk and stonking cleavage. (I am In Love).
ACTING. The whole cast is incredible, but Elle Fanning, babe, take it away! The range, darling! The emotion in an eye twitch, the scale of grief and depression measured in the angle of her pout, the mix of love and frustration that you wholly believe in, and her stompy, resolutely unladylike walk. And that dance to AC/DC right at the end. ;_;
Not to Marial stan on main again, but she was RIGHT, finally we were going to see an independent Catherine and those fuckers cancelled it!!
Everyone. I love everyone in this bar. They're all awful scheming fuckheads and I love them all.
Every time Grigor has an emotional breakdown it gives me life.
So many different women with sometimes complex, sometimes excruciatingly simple and/or dumb reasons for doing what they do, even the ones that hate each other find connection in surprising moments and then go back to hating each other, finding so many ways to be political and sexual and clever and so fucking stupid. Did I mention that I love them all especially Marial?
I still think it would be funny if I became a Bond villain billionaire and bought the rights to all of Georgia's TV channels and just constantly broadcast Archie's scenes without context. Hypocritical fucked up horny patriarch is here to help you re-evaluate your morals!
Small things like how Catherine doesn't really care about Paul <333 like yes ok she's wracked by grief for a bunch of the season, but even before, it's not like she's going round having a crisis about how to spend time with her child while ruling the country. The country is her priority.
I for one am glad Velementov isn't dying, and it's tragic that we won't get to see the arc where he sobers up and gives Agnes the ride of her life.
Watching this show is actually hugely frustrating a lot of the time and you might find yourself getting impatient with some of the characters when they're dithering about what to do. This is Good, Actually, because it gives room for that incredible script to breathe, and it reinforces the frustration and slow progress inherent to what the character of Catherine is trying to achieve.
I don't care about the 'occasionally true' bits of the story, as a vehicle for exploring what it's like to be a woman in power, as a way of looking at contemporary issues through a sumptuous, over-the-top pseudo-historical setting, it's an absolute banger.
---
ETA: I was right to post this before tag-diving!! Absolutely screaming at the hate for my bb girl who did nothing wrong ever. Honestly so glad I have no desire to get into fandom for this show at all.

Ten Random Lines
Thanks @goodiecornbread and @demora00 for the tag.
Rules: pick any 10 of your fics, scroll somewhere to the midpoint, pick a line (or three), and share it! Then tag 10 people.
It's Supposed to be Better Than Fine
“Is that what you wanted Patrick?” David took another step towards him, not losing eye contact, Patrick swallowed and felt his entire body start to heat up.
“I hadn’t really thought about it…. In detail…. I was just… I wanted to make sure……. I was just making sure you were okay.”
“You wanted to make sure I was okay?” David said softly, another step towards him.
Engagement Wine
Patrick rarely asked about the details of David’s past, so when he did David felt like he deserved to hear the longer versions of stories. He felt safe telling him knowing Patrick loved him and didn’t judge him; the proof was glittering on the fingers of his left hand.
Patrick Brewer's Day Off
David’s eyes flicked back to the rear-mirror where he gave Stevie his best look of derision, while she smiled sweetly at him in return. If anyone could convey ‘suck it’ through a smile, it was Stevie.
So Frenchy, So Adorable
David smiles and raises an eyebrow. “Et pourquoi?” (And why?)
“Je veux. C’est tu.” (What he wants to say is ‘I just wanted to. That’s all’, but what he has said is ‘I want. It’s you.’)
Paint on the Colours
Patrick watched David slink into the water. Faarrrk, he thought as he rubbed his face. If he wasn’t careful, he was going to get an erection standing poolside, and that was definitely not a good look for him.
The Way to go Home
He watched David while he chewed, contemplating how little he knew about him. Just his name, that he took sugar in his coffee and what he sounded like when he came. He wanted to know so much more. “So, David. Tell me one thing about yourself? Like… I don’t know… How did you end up in a hostel in Paris?”
Death of a Socialite
“Who are you sleeping with?”
“No one! What?”
“Your face. You were like, all soft dopey smiley,” Alexis screwed up her face with a look of distaste. And then she pouted and put her hand up to her chin, her eyes fluttering in what David knew was her approximation of a wink. “Somebody is literally trying to kill you and you are still smiling, David. Must have been pretty good, is all I’m saying.”
Reservations
“No! Nothing like that,” Patrick flushed at the thought. “I’m renting the spare room. Well, it’s not spare anymore, but yes, I live here. With David. As roommates.”
Three Dates
But as Patrick put the car in reverse, David heard the dance beat of the theme tune to Alexis’ show come over the speakers.
“No!” David warned.
Patrick burst out laughing, rolling his eyes before saying, “But it’s such a banger, David!”
Getting what you Want
So that’s how he now found himself with a spreader bar between his legs, and Georgia’s softest leather wrist restraints (one of their truly backroom items) holding him to his headboard, with Jake, Marc, Tao and Will looking on from the couch. As Patrick glanced over to take them all in, he noticed Jake was sucking on Will’s cock. And that was… he breathed out. That was fucking hot.
Tagging @alysiswriting @statueinthestone @mostlyinthemorning @mallpretzles @legalgal421 @wordthieve @lizzie-bennetdarcy @rosedavid @rmd-writes @treluna4
I don't know ho's been tagged, but ten is a lot of people to be tagged so if you have I'm sorry- but enjoy reading ten lines out of context.

omg I have to write to you about girls against god because holy shit you DID that!!!! I adore a western au but I love it even more when both r and ellie are allowed to be angry and violent. idk if you've played/watched red dead redemption 2 before (it feels like you have) but r and ellie are giving big Arthur and Mary vibes but sapphic and like a thousand times better. the use of David was perfect and I especially love the line "You see Father John in the men who viewed their anger as some sort of birthright, that because they were men they were justified in their anger." tbh it's something that i've been thinking about a lot lately (one of the dozens of reasons i can't date men anymore) and seeing it here was so refreshing especially in context of an amazing story.
I just have a lot of love for what you wrote!!! you made the reader of a reader insert have a lot of depth and character in 4k words which is so impressive first of all. secondly, it's always really nice to read a reader insert that gives the reader character without including preferences or appearances if that makes sense? like making her rough n tumble without saying anything about her hair, body, likes/dislikes and it feeling not weird is amazing, so proud.
tldr: i could write a goddamn dissertation on this story thank you for your service
thank you so much for reading and for sending me this message!
I have to admit that this has taken me an embarrassingly long time to write up a response because I genuinely didn't even know what to say!
I'm so glad you enjoyed 'girls against god', I didn't know how it would be received or if it seemed a bit too preach-y, so I really needed to hear this. and whether or not this was a western!au, I knew I wanted to write a reader that was unapologetic about their violence and their anger, so again thank you for loving that aspect of the reader.
I'm overjoyed that you like that particular line about Father John, I personally think it's one of my favourite things that I've written - I think we all have encountered a Father John at one point in our lives.
and I haven't actually played/watched red dead redemption 2, I have only vaguely heard about it - but it seems as though I must get on to that real quick!
finally, creating a reader insert that is inclusive as possible has always been my goal and will always be my goal. I understand the frustration someone gets when there are certain characteristics that you can't personally relate to and they end up taking you out of the story and I never want to make someone feel excluded in my writing.
thank you so much again!

Rules: 🎶 when you get this, list 5 songs you've been listening to & tag 5-10 people.
Tagged by @amarocit 💖
Stay Soft- Mitski. Mitski slaps! The music video for this song is very evocative, but even without that context to the song (which, in my interpretation, is very clearly about sexualization/consumption by a white voyeurism) the lyrics go crazy. "Open up your heart/like the gates of hell" is the centerpiece to the whole thing
You Don't Know Me- Ray Charles. Charles has a nostalgic quality for me since, like a non zero amount of Georgians, "Georgia on my mind" came on the radio at random with a fair frequency back when I listened to the radio. I think someone probably posted about this song and I ended up listening to it- it has a very compelling story.
Bury a Friend
and Bad Guy- Billie Eilish. They're both catchy and given that in high-school i came up with the idea for a concept album of narrative songs from the perspective of villainous homos addressing various tropes and stories I'd read (which i do still wanna finish some day), is it any wonder I like a good song from the bad guys perspective? Also I'll be honest I've been watching Word of Honor FMVs and these were the tracks for two of them.
Closer by Nine Inch Nails but it's funky town- I am known to listen to just NIN sometimes, and particularly to loop closer. Something about the brassy disco interjections here compells me even though, of the mash ups I've listened to, I don't think this is an especially good song on its own.
I'll tag @subatoism @lorenzobane @wanderingwriter87 @ofhouseadama @2percentsugar and anyone else who wants in!

Yes!
To me, the peak was the VCR/Tivo era, when each episode told a self-contained, problem-of-the-week type story, but there was some continuity in B-plots, and sometimes callbacks between main stories.
Those technologies allowed for a reasonable expectation that a core audience would see most-if-not-all episodes, while the weekly broadcast format allowed for new or casual viewers to dip in and out at any time. With these constraints, it made sense for series to reward dedicated viewing (with context/nuances that you would only get if you'd seen a particular previous episode), but the basic requirement was still that each episode stand alone.
In the broadcast-only era, when if you missed an episode you missed it (at least until the next summer, when it might be rerun), there was little-to-no emphasis on between-episode continuity. That's why, in classic series with large continuing fandoms, there are elaborate fan-theories to paper over what--at the fannish level of analysis--seem like huge continuity gaps. How on Earth, for instance, did Illya Kuryakin have time to serve in the Russian Navy and attend the University of Georgia*, the Sorbonne, and Cambridge, and still end up at UNCLE's New York office, as number 2 of section 2, looking no more than 30 years of age? For that matter, is he from Russia, Ukraine, or Georgia? Each of these things was a one-off mention that served the needs of a particular episode.
(*the Soviet Socialist Republic, not the US state)
On a more significant level, characterization and situation had to be pretty static. Even if a character went through something that would, realistically, have a significant impact on their attitudes and behavior, that character had to still make sense to viewers who had missed that episode. The case-of-the-week format was (and is) a way to give the story meaningful stakes, without setting any traps for the person writing the next episode.
With streaming, though, we get the opposite of that. The assumption is that the viewer will start at the beginning and watch every episode--often in a very short amount of time. This gives creators an opportunity to tell bigger stories, with multi-episode arcs and real character stakes, but you can also end up with what feels like a bloated movie. Streaming technology also lends itself to the engagement-driving "every episode a cliffhanger" pattern, and the compulsive piling-up of mysteries and riddles, which keeps the audience locked in for longer and longer periods without ever experiencing the satisfaction of resolution.
It ends up feeling like an unreasonable level of increasing demand for the viewer's attention--if I want to watch the show with the cute baby Yoda puppet, for instance, and I would prefer to have some idea what's going on in the plot, I have to watch these two or three other shows, too. (At minimum, that is. Ideally, I'd brush up on almost 60 years worth of lore, if I really want to get it.)
i really could write an essay on how shit is that we’ve completely abandoned the monster-of-the-week episode format even when rebooting shows that relied on it to replace them with grimdark edgy plotlines where nothing feels good or accomplished at the end of the day

Was a watching Georgia’s stories answering questions and there was one about lights on or off. I don’t really know what that means. Can anyone explain please?
Hi, Anon! So, for those who didn't see Georgia's Insta stories yesterday, here is a screenshot of the story in question:
Tumblr media
As to what this means, I can offer my interpretation, but with one caveat, which is that I'm not entirely sure how the question-asker meant it, or how Georgia interpreted it. But from my experience, "lights on or off?" typically refers to sexual preferences. (In other words, do you prefer to have sex with the lights on or the lights off.) One example that comes to mind is the character Faith in a season 3 episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer:
Tumblr media
From this context, we can see that the question is referring to something sexual (along with "kinks or vanilla?" which refers to whether one enjoys rougher/kinkier sex or more traditional "vanilla" sex).
Now, again...whether this was actually what Georgia meant, I mean...who knows. Could she have meant that she just likes to sit in a room with the lights off instead of on? Sure, why not. But going by the popular vernacular (and where my mind went), this would be what most people would think of when they see that phrase. So, the conclusion we could arrive at would be that Georgia prefers to have sex with David with the lights off. Interpret that however you will...
(Also, it bears mentioning that this doesn't say anything about whether David likes to have sex with the lights on or off, but that's a whole other discussion for another day...)
I hope this helps you out, Anon. Thanks for writing in! x

Anatomy of a Scene
Tumblr media
The two movies I chose to watch were Lost in Translation and Moonlight.  Two vastly contrasting films.  Lost in Translation is a romantic comedy-drama released in 2003 starring Bob Harris and Scarlett Johanson playing the two main characters, Bill Murray and Charlotte. The two characters meet while visiting Tokyo, Bill Murray there to film a whiskey commercial, and Charlotte to accompany her husband, who works as a photographer, both struggling with their marriages for different reasons. Both of them, on their own and unfamiliar with Tokyo, find an understanding between each other, knowing they can relate to the other's situation, forming an unlikely bond.  Lost in Translation explores themes of loneliness, connection, disconnection, and isolation. Many of the shots reflect this, as, while watching, you can observe multiple scenes where a wide shot is used despite capturing the character existing in only a small area. You can also see wide shots where the camera captures the characters in the city and the massive crowd around them, making them feel lost in their environment.
Tumblr media
The second movie I watched was Moonlight, and it was by far my favorite between these two. Moonlight is a coming-of-age drama film focusing on the life of a boy named Chiron. This film is separated into three acts, splitting up three separate periods in his life. Act One, titled Little, shows the boy in his childhood and sets up the rest of the story. Even as a child, Chiron dealt with a lot of bullying from his peers. In this act, he also meets Juan and his girlfriend Teresa, who quickly become father and mother figures in his life. In Act Two, titled Chiron, we see Chiron in his teenage years. He still deals with a lot of bullying and harassment that, at the end of this scene, leads to Chiron getting into a fight. He doesn't throw any punches himself, but the next day, he retaliates by attacking one of the people who'd hurt him the day before and for years before that as well, leading to Chiron getting sent to juvie. In Act Three: Black, Chiron lives in Georgia. He is shown to be quite different from the person he was before. He claimed at one point that, after the incident in Act Two and after getting sent to juvie, he had to "build himself from the ground up." He didn't change entirely, though, and this is noticed especially when he visits Kevin, his childhood friend, after nearly ten years. Previously, in this act, Chiron was not shown smiling often or shown happy, not around or for anyone else aside from when he traveled to visit Kevin, clearly showing the strength of their bond.
Tumblr media
The scene that I found most impactful was the scene between Chiron and his mother in Act Two after he returns from the beach with Kevin. He finds his mother asleep on the couch and places a blanket over her. To this, she wakes up and holds his face, saying, "You don't love me no more…" and then, "You're my only. I'm your only." This scene switches from the wider shots used on Chiron's way back home to close-ups, emphasizing the expressions of himself and his mother.
Visually, there's nothing extreme, nothing making it incredibly unique. However, this conversation and his mother's words give so much context to their relationship. In this scene, we see a medium close-up shot of Chiron when his mom reaches out to cup his face. He tries to lean away, but she insists he comes closer. In act three, she's shown calling him multiple times, begging him to visit. Throughout the movie, she repeatedly says how much she loves Chiron despite her never showing it or stepping up to be a better mother figure in his life. I think she believes that she loves him, but after I watched that scene, I knew that her love for Chiron did not come from genuinely loving the person he was but because he was the only person who remained in her life. He was the only person she could hold on to and the only person she could force to stay in her life. By saying to Chiron, "I'm your only," (a statement not strictly true as he had found and been taken in by Teresa, who acted as a genuine and caring mother figure for him, though not related by blood) this revealed his mother's desperation for someone in her life. This was a very isolating phrase to say and showed her need to convince herself and her son that he only had his mother to support him in life as she truly only had him.
Overall, Moonlight was such a good movie that I am so glad to have watched. I liked the visuals and the use of blues and cool tones that seemed to tie back to the story Juan told Chiron in Act One about the old woman who called Juan "Blue" when he was a kid, running under the moonlight. Blue is also a color that can be associated with vulnerability and even represent identity and introspective journeys, which work very well with the topics the film addresses as Chiron ages. That was something about this film I really liked. How it followed Chiron throughout the different parts of his life, bringing the viewers closer to his character. This movie was so well done and truly unforgettable.

WIP 1
Besides the team that were boots on the ground that day, only three people know about the events in Georgia.
One of them is Amelia Mason, the other - Zachary Gilbert.
The third is Jamie Fell.
Amelia knew because it was part of the job (not to mention the relationship between her and the participants of the tragedy), Zach knew because he had the right to know as Lauren's brother and current teammate.
Jamie? Jamie found out because he wanted to. Because he's the best friend.
The Captain gave him one week to gather his stuff, sort everything out with the Rangers and Sgt. Griggs, sign off on all of the paperwork and get the transfer underway.
After Amelia's short call, he got everything sorted out in one day.
Talking to Jamie never felt like a burden for the Sergeant. They always find new ways to initiate a conversation on any topic, no matter how insignificant. Despite the age gap between them, it felt easy to make conversation because they shared the same sense of humor, the same understanding of things, if from differing perspectives.
It was easy for Lauren to talk about the adventures she went through with the Captain and her partner in crime, Kyle. They even managed to laugh about the smallest of things, which almost seemed inappropriate, given the context.
However, trauma has a way of destroying even the strongest of soldiers.
Jamie did it with one single question.
"Did the gamble pay off?"
He could feel his heart physically break in his chest as he heard her utter a single, tearful, "no."
Jamie always knew what Alex had meant to her, as the man in question had been longer in Lauren's life than he had. Both her and Amelia kept sharing stories of the pair, especially how they met, and it would always light the room up with laughs and friendly jabs. He was grateful to hear that Alex was the one person who helped Lauren build herself back up when Wyatt died, even though he mattered to him as much as he did to her. It was obvious how much love she had for her friend, going as far as risking her life to save him.
And now she sits here, with her head in her hands, crying over the losses that keep trailing her like a cloak and stabbing her in the heart again and again.
As he wraps his arms around her, trying to provide some sort of shelter from the world, Jamie realizes that he's now the one person that has to help her find herself again, just like Alex did.
He didn't have any second thoughts.
"I know you're hurting, sweetheart, I know. But you don't have to be alone with your pain. You have Mia by your side, you have your brother nearby, not to mention the team that would go to hell and back for you. And you have me."
Lauren feels something touch the crown of her head. She doesn't register it was a kiss.
"Let me help you grieve."
WIP 2
"You watched my own emotions eating me alive FOR MONTHS! You watched me trying to piece myself again for months and now you destroy all of that with the truth?!"
Agent Laswell was the one who dared to interrupt her.
"We know it was a risk--"
Lauren wasted no time slamming her palms to the table that was separating her and the potential murder case in front of her.
"I'M NOT DONE YET!"
At least this silenced the room.
"Do you have any idea what I had to go through?! Do you have any idea how I had to feel?!" The Sergeant leaned back, trying to contain the rage that had almost consumed her. "When my partner died, I was not even allowed to see his body, I had to watch a closed casket and make my own conclusions on how he died. Gunshot? To the head? Torso? Or maybe he died from his wounds? Perhaps a slit throat? I don't know! I couldn't even hold his hand or kiss his forehead for the last time!"
Agent Mason, who was standing behind her, remembered Wyatt's funeral very well. She had known Lauren to never show her emotions in front of strangers. This was the only occasion where people not only saw her tears, but heard her screams.
"Not even two years pass, and now I had to live with the fact that my best friend died in my arms. That my efforts to save him were for nothing. YOU HAD ME BELIEVE THAT I DIED WITH HIS BLOOD ON MY HANDS! AND NOW I FIND OUT THAT MY GRIEF WAS FOR NOTHING?! THAT IT WAS HOLLOW?!"
It hurt Zach to see how Lauren's voice remained strong, yet she was already trembling from the anger and the sobs that were trying to break out.
She was about to continue her tirade, but Price beat her to the punch.
"We did it to keep him safe. Because your relationship with him... It posed a risk to his identity, especially after him deserting his post."
She hated the fact that he was right. And yet.
"No, no no no no. Tell me you did not think I was that predictable and uncontrollable. Tell me you did not think I would risk compromising my friend. Captain, tell me you did not think I was untrustworthy."
He really did not think that. To him, she was probably one of the closest friends he'll ever have, a friend who is not afraid to face death with him. Hell, she already did that.
"Never."

Mud On The Tires
Summary: Mick and his girlfriend get into a bit of trouble during a day of out door adventure.
Word Count: 2.2k
Context Clues: Georgia is the daughter of Mick’s engineer and is from the American south.
Authors Notes: This is part of a mini series, written for an oc and Mick Schumacher. Each installment can be read as a standalone, they will be posted in chronological order. The last installment can be found here.
Tumblr media
The room was still dark when Georgia woke to the sound of her boyfriend’s voice, the soft glow of the morning barely cutting through the curtains. “Georgie.” Mick was crouched down on her side of the bed, holding two mugs.
“What time is it?”
“It’s early.” Mick set down one of the mugs on the bedside table and leaned in to give her a kiss, brushing the hair away from her eyes.
“Jus’ a little longer?” Georgia shut her eyes and turned away slightly, pulling the comforter up to her chin.
“We’ve got to get going, everyone’s on their way now.” He sat next to her, tugging the blankets back down. Mick offered her the mug, taking her hand as she sat up slowly. It was early, and longer in bed would have been nice, but he was right. Her brothers had likely left Dallas hours ago, they’d be mad if they had to wait on her.
“Are–” Mick raised a hand and nodded, as if he could read her mind.
“Sawyer texted me, they're an hour out.”
“Guess I oughta get dressed then, huh?” Georgia slipped out from the covers, stepping onto the soft carpet slowly.
“If you want.” Mick gave her a smirk, pointing his eyes to the pair of boxers she was wearing, stolen from his drawer the night before.
“Nice try but you don’t get any if you wake me up ‘fore dawn.” She sauntered away, swaying her hips just a little extra as she disappeared into his closet. “Where’d you put my bags…Nevermind!”
A short while later she came out, sporting camo from head to toe, with the exception of the worn out canvas jacket she was wearing. She did a twirl, momentarily self conscious about how old her outfit was. In true southern fashion, most of it had belonged to someone else first. Good gear was even better if it had a history. The only thing she was certain belonged to her, were the boots. Maybe the jacket too, she couldn’t remember.
In stark contrast, Mick sat on the bed in a brand new pair of jeans and a crisp new shirt, an even newer looking Carhartt on top of it all. Sensing something, he gave a small smile and looked down at his sleeves. “Still haven’t got any camo.”
“I’ve got enough for the two of us.” Georgia grinned, heading for the door. “Breakfast, cowboy?”
“We have to be quiet though, I think Gina’s still asleep.” He followed her out into the hall, pulling the door softly shut behind himself.
“Your mama?”
“Gone. Early flight. She’s going to see Dad.” She nodded, taking his hand in hers as they made for the stairs, light feet treading softly across the wood floors. They didn’t speak of his father often, at least not in a serious matter. When he was in a good mood he would tell her stories from when he was little. Once, after an interview had gone too deep on the paddock he had held her close in silence, but they hadn’t talked about it after. Michael was Micks, and he kept him close.
Georgia stayed silent in the kitchen, sitting on a stool as Mick wandered around, gasping every time a dish made a loud noise or a drawer closed too abruptly. Dropping a knife onto the counter without thinking, he caught her eye, his mouth in a perfect ‘o’ shape. He worked quickly after that, buzzing through the kitchen like a man on a mission.
“For you, my lady.” Mick slid a plate across the counter to her, the porcelain piled high with fresh fruit and scrambled eggs. He watched closely from his place opposite her as she took a bite, his brows raised in question.
“Very good.” He nodded at her, digging into his own plate immediately after. Mick watched her closely, gesturing at the food still on her plate each time she set down her fork. Begrudgingly, she finished the fruit, each bite earning him a hard stare. “You know I don’t eat much this early.”
“You need it for later.” He waved her off, taking a swig from his coffee mug as she opened her mouth to argue.
“Not if I’m not driving.” She grinned up at him, reminding him of the night before.
“Georgie, baby, you’re a very smart woman. And a brilliant mechanic. But you absolutely cannot drive.”
“Touché.” Mick took the plate from its place in front of her and piled it into the sink on top of the other dishes he’d made dirty. Before he could check his watch or his phone and urge the show along, Georgia was already making her way down the hall in what she believed was the direction of the garage.
With his hands on her shoulders Mick spun her around and pointed them both down a different hall. With his hands on her hips they swayed step by step together until they stumbled down the steps into the cold concrete room.
“We’re all packed, I took care of everything before I woke you up.” Mick skipped across the room on light feet, slapping his hand on the hood of the ATV. “I’ve got our spare gear in the truck”
“Mama is sending lunch with the boys,” Georgia ducked around to root through the bed of the truck, rifling through the tool box to check the assortment. “You got zipties in here?” Lifting the lid to another gearbox, she flipped through the pile of stuff inside. Not a zip tie in sight.
“That box there,” Mick pointed, “No the one on your right, tape too.”
“You pack any work gloves for me?” Mick nodded, flicking the switch to the garage door.
“We’re meeting them at the gas station outside the trail.”
“Let’s get to it, mister!” He gave her a grin and tossed her the keys to the truck, motioning for her to pull it out so he could move the ATV behind it for the hook up.
Less than ten minutes later they were off, tearing down the driveway, dust kicking up behind them as they broke into the day. Mick held her hand tightly in his own, kissing at her fingertips, a smile glued to his face. With the low sound of Brad Paisley’s Mud On The Tires emanating from the radio, they took off for the other side of town.
*
“Mick!” Georgia’s brother, Sawyer leapt down from his truck bed and came across the parking lot, sweeping Mick off his feet and into a bear hug. “Good ta’ see ya kid, she ain’t been botherin’ you has she?”
“Course she has!” Her oldest brother looked up from where he stood by the gas pump and gave a wild grin. “That’s all my sister’s good for, ain’t it kiddo?” Georgia elbowed him in the side, taking him into a hug just after.
“Watch it or I’ll forget I missed you.” Walker jabbed her in the stomach, a sharp reply to her snarky comment.
“Are y’all ready? Trail’s gonna be hot soon.” Sawyer let go of Mick and looked down at his watch, fidgeting with the band on his wrist.
“It’s the middle of the week, ain’t no way it’s hot.”
“You ain’t drivin’ so you wouldn’t care neither way.” Walker gave his sister a grin before turning his back to sort out the gas pump.
“We’ll lead, yeah?” Asked Sawyer, raising his brows for Micks approval. He shrugged, indifferent to the question. “Alright. Mama said hey, Daddy too but you hear from him enough I reckon.” He laughed, giving a wave as he walked around to get into the truck, chuckling like he’d told an inside joke.
Georgia and Mick made their way back to their own vehicle, swinging their hands as they held one another tightly. “It’s funny, Gary hasn’t said anything to me all week, I’m on vacation.” Mick grinned, his teeth showing as he opened Georgia’s door, ushering her into the cab of the truck.
“Careful now, or we’ll be getting calls the rest of the week.” Mick chuckled at her, shutting the door gently before jogging around to get into the driver’s seat. Georgia smiled quietly to herself, wondering how she’d gotten to this place in Austin anyways. Four months in with a boy her brothers liked and her Daddy loved like his own. Life must be lucky sometimes she reckoned, sneaking a look at the happy blonde next to her.
*
“Comfortable? The belts are not too tight are they?” Mick fiddled with the buckle of the belt strap, wiggling it in its place on her chest.
“All good, baby. Jus’ let me try it.” Georgia shimmied in her seat before pressing her foot to the accelerator, gritting her teeth as the vehicle jolted underneath her. Just like driving a car. They rolled over a bit of rocky terrain, hitting gravel on firm tires. Georgia grinned, giving her boyfriend a nervous look as she pushed them further up the trail, successful still.
“Good, Georgie, a little faster through here.” Mick pointed to the hill crest in front of them, a bare patch of even terrain laying in front of them. She pressed her boot further to the floor, plowing forward, control of the wheel slipping just slightly from her grasp. The ATV cleared the hill without a struggle, rolling down the other side with ease, until suddenly a sharp lock up in the rear of the truck sent them sailing into the bank of the trail. Without thinking Mick swung his arm out, holding Georgia against her seat as the jolt rocked them both forward.
“Fuck.” Georgia let her head fall forward, the helmet hitting the buckle on her chest. In the distance she could hear Walker and Sawyer coming up behind them, both boys hollering and screaming to see if they were okay.
“We’re alright!” Mick called out, sliding out from his seatbelt to get a better look at Georgia, whose side of the cab had taken the brunt of the impact. They were upright still, which was good, but the ATV was wedged down in the bank, stuck into a corner between two trees.
“Georgie!” Sawyers face appeared moments later, his eyes peeking out from the visor of his helmet.
“I’m okay. Rear diff locked up, couldn’t get it back in time.”
“Could be a fluid issue?” Walker snuck up behind his brother, peering into the dust covered cab.
“Not enough miles for it to be the pinion nut, at least I think.” Mick looked at both men, before turning to his girlfriend to check for her opinion.
“Fluid probably. We can definitely get it out of here and home in one piece.”
“Oughta check the side gears back at the garage though, jus’ in case.” Walker ducked out of sight, leaning down to inspect the back end of the vehicle.
“We could tow it home and fix it at the shop, in Dallas, if you wanted.” Sawyer crossed his arms, cocking his hip to the side as he offered a cheap solution to the numerous potential problems.
“I’ll have Georgie check it at the house, I don’t want you guys to worry about it.” Sawyer stuck his hands out and nodded, backing off from the concern.
“Either way I’m telling Daddy you crashed into a tree.” Her brother laughed, his cheeks flushing underneath the pads of the helmet. “Don’t worry Mick, I’ll make sure he knows she did it all on her own.”
“Sawyer don’t you dare!” Georgia unbuckled herself, leaning over to swat at her brother, missing him by a hair as he darted out of reach, laughing all the while.
“Maybe you shouldn’t,” Mick looked out at her brother, turning back to glance at her with worried eyes. “I don’t want Gary to worry. He’s been so busy at the factory.”
“Yeah, don’t upset him, Sawyer, COTA is in a week.” Georgia turned serious, taking hold of Mick’s arm as she caught on to what he was trying to imply. Better to let the engineer rest and collect himself instead of riling him up for the sake of something childish.
“I won’, I won’.” He turned on his heel, wandered back to the other vehicle, shaking his head fervently, as if to say I could.
“You’re lucky you got Gina, all I got ‘s two bastards for brothers.”
“They’re not so bad.” Mick gave her hand a squeeze before slipping out of his seat and on to the hard ground. “Now hop out and spot me while I back this thing out, please.”
“Aye Aye, Cap’n.” Georgia gave him a small salute and jumped out of her seat, nearly knocking into the tree that had caused it all in the first place. She stood a few paces behind the truck, watching carefully as he spun the wheels into the gravel. With dust flying, and the sun beating down, her boyfriend doing his very best, Georgia sent up a little prayer. Bless this dirt and Brad Paisley.

Rant, vent, w/e you want to call it, it’s gonna be long. But I hate doing this. I never intend to speak my opinion on my pages anymore but it's like dejavu rn. My blood is boiling for days. I made a post 8 years ago about this very conflict after I returned from Ukraine and the ordeal that was endured. (scroll down until you see the first image of a collapsed bridge.. unless you want to read TMI about my life) And...I see nothing changed. The propaganda and fear-porn remained.
But suddenly everyone is a fucking expert on the war that's going on right now. I know this might conflict with a lot of people’s programming, but I do not care because I need to speak the brutal truth. It’s time for a long, hard geopolitical reminder. 8 years ago, no one said fuck all about the outright genocide of Donbass. 10,000+ civilians are dead and my husband and his family were nearly part of that number. He, like everyone else in this region, were labelled as terrorists because they said NO to an illegal U.S/NATO backed takeover of Kiev(maidan colour revolution). Donbass said NO to ethnic cleansing and the removal of the Russian language. But no one said anything about the coup detat criminals that declared war on its own people. (If you don’t know/understand, read the last paragraph of this post for a catch-up summary of this conflict for context) It's actually the SAME story in every war-torn part of the world. And still; NO ONE seems to GET IT. Baaa. Does no one remember JUST LAST MONTH what was happening in Kazakhstan??? That globalists were trying to destabilize it??? They did the exact same thing to Georgia in 2009 and FAILED there too. (That puppet Sakashvili was exiled and is wanted by interpol ffs and this scumbag actually became governor of Odessa where the burning massacres occurred as if Coup Ukraine wasn’t corrupted enough.) People want to end aggression? Then stop supporting NGO funded uprisings or fascist government regimes and their lies. They have been happening for decades.  TOO MANY LIES. I get that during wartime, propaganda is RAMPANT and it’s very hard to tell what’s happening (which makes it a convenient tactic), but ffs... Ukr media used video game footage as ‘evidence’ they shot down Russian jets. Morale boosting bs like that is to get people to foolishly continue a losing battle. And the lies and hatred that comes from these lies outright insults the brutal reality that the Donbass suffered. By way of deception, thou shalt wage WAR.
And this^ is occurring without fail. There is only one thing I am frustrated at Russia for and it's that they took too long to respond to this cesspit Junta. Yes, Russia supported DPR/LPR and were the only ones keeping them afloat for all these years because the facist coup in Kiev never stopped the war, even when Zelenskiy was elected predominantly because he said he was going to end it and even promised to put Poroshithead and co in jail as war criminals... 3 years in; nothing. 0 jailed criminals, 0 intention to stop the war. And lo and behold, Zelenskiy showed his true colours and is indeed playing a role with the rest of these war criminals. In fact it looks like they all condone it; why else would you let your own people kill each other if you actually cared about your country? Look at this small example of the kind of evil things this nazi guard has been doing for 8 years in just *one* city. You think the coup didn’t know about it?? Watch the video describing the situation, it is english-subbed. Tell me; do the ‘anti-nazi’ westerners condone this behaviour?? Because this shit never ended to this day. Where was the outrage then when it was most needed??? As for Putin...Strategically, I can see what he was doing. He has been avoiding a bigger war for 8 years because the fascists *wanted* it, but his hesitation allowed the coup to continue the genocide. It would have made more sense for Putin to act when Poroshenko was ‘president’ because he wasn’t even legitimately elected! For that, I cannot see any good excuse for his inaction. People were dying this whole time because of it. Russia/Ukraine could have avoided this entire mess if Russia cleaned up as fast as they did in Georgia.(8 months is better than 8 years) So why not?? But because Zelenskiy said that he wanted to make Ukraine NUCLEAR again was the tipping point - This bastard must have KNOWN that this is Russia's number 1 trigger (and excuse) to react to, but Zelenskiy did it while relying on NATO/EU to "come to the rescue" and thus from there would justify instigating something far worse which was the goal. NATO (along with some certain family bloodlines) have been provoking Russia for decades...Oh, how they'd absolutely love to go in and cut and carve up Russia like they did to Yugoslavia.. Regardless; if no one is going to do ANYTHING about murderous illegitimate governments killing its own people that tirelessly defend their land and rights, then Russia's intervention is the result of everyone's neglect and carelessness. AFTER ALL. No one in the west cared! No one cared until the media TOLD you to care...! (and believe *their* narrative) The only ones that actually cared were the ones suffering at the hands of this fascist junta. Not only Donetsk and Lugansk states cried for (Russian) support; Mairupol, Odessa, Zaporozhiye, Kharkov etc needed it too, and it’s only now they are being liberated. This also now includes Kiev. This is how *hated* the Russians are: So hated in fact, that all of Kiev speaks Russian. There are videos of Ukrainian militants *willingly* surrendering and *dancing* alongside Russian forces (who most likely were forced conscripted) because finally something was being done about this shit in their country. Oh yes very hated. But no; the biased sell-outs in the West and their media calls this an ‘invasion’, because when the U.S and its allies meddle in foreign lands and their governments, plunder and steal resources, declare civilians and their children goat-herding ‘terrorists’ and destabilize their economies this is completely justified - even when and if their own citizens call them out for it. But as soon as a country far away has their own borders threatened, they’re expected to just sit there, watch and let people DIE.   Hypocrisy of the highest order. And speaking of hypocrisy.. I have seen posts asking for donations to Ukrainian military. Wtaf? How does that stop aggression? You're asking foreigners to fund your war...?? What happened to all the funds EU gave Ukraine(embezzled again?!)???? after all, Ukraine was supposed to be their newest puppetaddition. But I guess war is where they draw the line huh. Well, here's a thought! Why not ask people to donate toward humanitarian aid???? Rn, it's NON EXISTENT because murderous puppet regimes dgaf about human rights, I thought that was pretty well established for the past 8 years!! And oh, my also un-elected fucktard of a PM thinks sending weapons to Zelenskiys fascist coup government somehow helps stop "Russian aggression" when it only adds more fuel to the fire. Zelenskiy is an absolute joke (he's actually a famous comedian believe it or not...insane). He thinks arming civilians with 0 military training and 0 background checks with AKs and teaching them how to make Molotovs is somehow keeping them or Ukraine safe. Yeah, no. It's turning innocent people into human shields, into TARGETS for BOTH sides to attack (military in civilian clothing is a real thing and taken seriously because nazi nationalists like Praviy Sektor pulled these stunts in Donbass, and therefore it’s extremely dirty to get innocents involved like this). And now Zelenskiy orders the army to trap the people in Kiev and threaten to shoot them if they try to escape is just another excuse to keep them as human shields, hostages, insurance to deter Russian forces from going all-out. (hence all the comments about ‘Russian army is weak’. The fact is; civilians are not the target. Nazis like zelenskiy however are) Because (as the video above also mentions) it’s safer for them to create their checkpoints around civilians.. They have been employing this same dirty tactic in Donbass since the very beginning. Blame the coup; they are more than happy to sacrifice these people for their own gain. It’s also a great way to frame your enemy. Also, photo ops make for great propaganda!   This is not so much an invasion as it is an intervention; a massive clean up of corrupt politicians with dual Isr**** citizenships. So I wonder; are they even Ukrainian? Probably. But I'm inclined to think they are descendants of actual Bandera nazis, like Praviy Sektor. Still, appealing to Ukrainian’s sense of patriotism by telling them to die as heroes of Ukraine and ending every goddamn speech with glory to Ukraine is extremely manipulative and dangerous.   "The forest was shrinking but the trees continued to vote for the Ax, for the Ax was clever and had convinced the trees that because his handle was made of wood, he was one of them." - Turkish proverb  ^^^ that. Instead of surrendering or taking the evacuation a lot more seriously, let’s just give guns to random people and tell them how to make molotovs. I have never heard of any government doing this in the history of ever. But guess what? Now there are reports of armed robberies by civilians taking place because people are desperate for food (100griv for fucking bread.).. How about that humanitarian aid then...?  So.. to summarise. Someone had to do something about the Illegitimate coup, humanitarian crisis and the genocide it was committing and since no one wanted to fucking do anything, Russia finally snapped after Zelenskiy intended to be nuclear and invite NATO on the border, which violates the Nato-Russia founding act. I’m sure there are other reasons...but regardless, It’s time to remove these lying, cheating murderers controlling Kiev and restore Ukraine’s dignity and bring peace - and the truth - to the people ASAP.  Full disclosure cannot happen any sooner. As long as people continue to believe in lies and anti-russia propaganda without question I will be filled with anger and indignancy for all the injustices that were allowed to occur without any condemnation. Like I said 8 years ago; The Fascist coup in Kiev are the real terrorists. And btw, the photo of the ‘falling white smoke’ in the top link is actually phosphorus bombs. It’s an international war crime to use it and yet the coup allowed their military to use it (unless it was the foreign agents doing it; same thing really). Honestly, I can go on and on about the crimes against humanity that have been committed for all these years, but people are too busy being distracted by anti-Russian sentiment to be paying attention to the truth, let alone the crimes committed in Canada. Better get your money out of the banks asap before they start funnelling it into Ukraine, eh..? “The way to make money is to buy when blood is running on the streets” - John D Rockefeller SO, If you came this far, this last part is for those who want to actually understand the situation rather than just having emotional biases and hysteria over something that was NEVER invested in in the first place. Here's a summary of what's happened in Ukraine/Russia over the years for context on what’s happening now:  2010 - Ukraine elected Viktor Yanukovich as president. The West (US & EU) were not happy with these events as they saw the new president as too aligned to Russia. Before Yanukovich's election, Ukraine had a free trade deal in the pipeline with the EU. But in 2013, Yanukovich did a 180° and refused to sign the deal, favouring closer ties with Russia. (Why buy expensive gas from EU that bought it off Russia anyway...? Inflation much? It’s lunacy) November 2013 - led by  Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Victoria Nuland (and her infamous cookies), the US fomented a Colour Revolution (called Euromaidan) which led to a coup in Ukraine. (Foreign snipers deliberately shot into both protesters and police and promptly blamed Yanukovich, ending in the coup detat we know today.) Yanukovich was overthrown and chased out of the country with threats to his life. Leaders in eastern Ukraine declared allegiance to Yanukovich. February 2014 - anti-government protests broke out and a referendum in Crimea where 97% of respondents voted to return Crimea to Russia. March 2014 - Crimea rejoined Russia. Meanwhile, the Coup Detat "government" proposed a Bill to remove Russian as an official language. Russian speakers in East Ukraine were angered about this saying ethnic Russians were in imminent danger.  Early 2014 - Russia started sending support to the eastern regions of Ukraine (Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia and Odessa) who now demanded independence from Ukraine. April 2014 - Russian-speaking regions of Donetsk and Lugansk broke away from Ukraine and proclaimed themselves as separate Republics (Donetsk People’s Republic and Lugansk People’s Republic = DPR/LPR). Russia started performing military exercises on the eastern Ukrainian border just as NATO was doing the same in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, who share borders with Russia. September 2014 - Ukraine and DPR/LPR signed ceasefire agreements in Minsk, Belarus, to end hostilities in east Ukraine. Despite the Minsk agreements, from 2014 to date, continuous battles have been waged between Ukrainian forces and DPR/LPR over territory in the Donbass region in violation of the agreements. Along with the armed conflict, the EU and US imposed International sanctions against Russia. The sanctions led to the collapse of the Russian currency and caused economic damage to EU countries. By 2016, Russia had lost an estimated $600 billion. 2017 - UN published a report stating that the EU countries were losing about "3.2 billion dollars a month" due to the Russian sanctions. March 2021 - President Putin ordered the Russian military to mobilise troops near its border with Ukraine and in Crimea. November 2021 - Russia deployed vessels to the Black Sea to "observe" US warships. Putin said the US ships were "a serious challenge". Russian Ministry of Defence said "The real goal behind the US activities in the Black Sea region is exploring the theatre of operations in case Kiev attempts to settle the conflict in the southeast by force". mid-January, 2022 - the US started announcing that Russia would invade Ukraine, stating that an attack could begin before the conclusion of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing in February. NATO began providing weapons including anti-armour missiles and other US-made weapons to Ukraine. 22 January - the US delivered 90 000 kg of lethal weapons to Ukraine. The Netherlands and Spain also deployed forces to the region in support of NATO. February - the US sent soldiers to Germany and Poland to boost NATO's presence in Europe, along with F-15 fighter jets to Romania. Britain also deployed soldiers, warships and jets to eastern Europe. 21 February - the leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, requested Putin to officially recognise the republics' independence. Putin agreed and signed Russia's recognition of the republics and ordered troops to be sent there. 22 February - Boris Johnson announced sanctions on Russian banks and individuals. Germany announced suspending the certification process of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. EU foreign ministers blacklisted all Russians who voted in favour of the recognition of the breakaway regions. 24 February 2022 - President Putin announced the beginning of a "special military operation" in the Donbass region.
