i think it’d be fun if wammy’s house had like abunch of watari’s inventions in it. or like some totally not ego-petting mini-mueseum of the inventions with a focus on the prototypes-to-final-product-pipeline and how greatness can be achieved with hardwork ( back-breaking labor ).
less kind of bitter idea, it’d be even more fun if wammy’s house had some like communal pets or something. like a dog that just lounges around or a cat. maybe multiple since the place is so huge

i sobbed seeing this art wtf this is so cute i miss them
Your Tetro pieces are some of my favorite fanworks ever created by the fandom. I don't know what it is really, but how you draw the students really hammers the nail that these guys are, at the end of the day, just teenagers who should be doing Teenager Things instead of watching all of their friends die, and I really love that.
Tumblr media
thank you :)

Dinnertime
Light makes pasta. L eats it.
gen / lawlight / 1k words
notes : not betaed so gomen for any mistakes .. inspired by one of those memes where its a tweet w a char img over it . the tweet said "in my dreams im making you pasta and nothing bad has happened to us" and its lawlight over it . do you know what im talking about .
ao3 or below the cut !!
When L looks up from his computer for the first time in what he assumes is multiple hours, he realizes Light is no longer sitting in the chair to his right. This should be expected, the two of them are not chained together any longer, but he can’t mask the mild disappointment that etches itself onto his features; without his permission, mind you.
The greatest detective in the world decides that taking a little walk to find his favorite suspect wouldn’t be detrimental to his work and productivity, so he turns his chair and steps out of it, ignoring how his joints crackle audibly.
L wanders through the too-large building, looking around corners and down hallways in search of the head of brown hair and the slim build he’s extremely familiar with. After perhaps ten minutes of mindless roaming, if his internal clock isn’t failing him, he finds his beloved suspect.
Light is standing in the kitchen, of all of the hundreds of rooms in this building, his sleeves rolled up as he stirs a pot of what smells distinctly like pasta. L steps closer, standing a few feet away from Light, and the brunette jumps ever so slightly when he notices L.
“Christ, Ryu–”
“What are you doing?”
L cuts him off, not caring to hear Light’s beratement for sneaking up on him. It wasn’t intentionally startling, after all. He watches as Light’s gaze turns from annoyed to a slightly softer version of the same annoyance.
“Making myself dinner,” Light begins, his voice carrying a cadence that is near identical to when one explains something so obvious the person they’re explaining it to must be stupid. L is not stupid. Light ignores L’s unwavering expression, the one that doesn’t flinch despite his constant jabs, as he continues. “It’s pasta. Do you want some? You didn’t eat lunch.”
L, instead of responding, peeks into the pot, seeing the boiling water and the blurry yellow hidden beneath the bubbles and the starch. He watches as Light stirs the water with a wooden spoon, and attempts to pull out a single strand as he turns the heat to its lowest setting without turning it off. He enjoys how the flames fold in on themselves, reminding him of a chrysanthemum. Light has managed to get three noodles onto the spoon, and when he tries to dump the two extra back into the pot, he drops them all. Light’s eye twitches, he inhales through his nose sharply, and he tries again.
L watches him fail this seemingly simple task two more times, and on the fourth, Light just grabs one of the noodles with his fingers and shoves it into his mouth. L observes him chewing, and when he deems the pasta's softness adequate, Light turns off the stove. Light seems to have taken to his usual tactic of ignoring Ryuzaki’s owlish eyes when he’s grown tired of being annoyed, pouring the contents of the pot into a strainer that’s sitting in the sink.
Light goes through the motions of making two neat little bowls of pasta, and L briefly wonders if the food is going to be cold by the time he gets to sample it, with how Light is maneuvering the spaghetti noodles into a swirl in the bowl. Like a yellow cinnamon bun, his brain helpfully supplies.
Light carries the two bowls over to a small table that's been set up in the kitchen at the request of one Touta Matsuda, the man having complained enough about having to eat at their desks that L had Watari ordering a table. L resumes his preferred posture on the further of the two chairs, looking down at the bowl presented before him and picking up his fork with his index and thumb. It’s the one he favors above all the others. Light sits across from him after placing a pepper shaker, and a bag of shredded parmesan cheese on the table. Light uses both of the add-ons he’s supplied on his bowl of sauceless pasta. L uses neither.
“People tend to put more on their pasta. There is a jar of marinara in the pantry, Light-kun. Why didn’t you use it?”
Light finally meets his gaze after pointedly ignoring the detective for the past multiple minutes, and sighs softly.
“I don’t like tomatoes. They give me heartburn.”
Light informs him, and L seems to accept this, judging by how doesn’t keep interrogating the brunette. Instead, he continues his favorite hobby: observing Light Yagami. Light spreads out his napkin over his thighs, before he even picks up his utensil, and he swirls his fork in the pasta to collect enough for a bite. After watching Light’s first bites, perhaps just to check if the meal were poisoned, L follows his lead. He doesn’t take as prissy of an approach as his suspect, stabbing the fork into the center of the swirl of pasta and scooping some out, bringing the plain pasta to his mouth. He chews, swallows, and frowns as he pokes at the remainder of his dinner. After another sigh slices through the silent air, and Light speaks.
“What’s wrong, now?”
L’s eyes stay on the pasta as he pouts over it. Like some lame puppy dog, Light thinks.
“I expected it to be.. sweeter.”
L mumbles out, picking up a single strand of the pasta between his fork’s prongs, bringing it to his mouth. Light knows that if Ryuzaki actually truly disliked the food, he wouldn’t be eating more of it.
“Pasta isn’t supposed to be sweet, Ryuzaki,” Light informs, his irritation seeming to be at a plateau for the evening. “Just eat your dinner. You’ll starve to death if you keep up this habit of only snacks throughout the day.”
The rest of the evening is mostly wordless, the two of them eating their own meals, washing their own dishes, before heading back to their own desks. Light finds that he still trails about a meter and a half behind L, as if there was still metal connecting them. Old habits die hard, he reminds himself. It’s not his fault if he’s a little disappointed when he turns to his left and L isn’t there. He adjusts his pace. Two and a half meters.
The next time they speak is when Light stands up from his desk, stretching his arms over his head. “Goodnight, Light-kun,” Light hears Ryuzaki say, which is quickly followed by “Thank you for dinner.”
“Good night, Ryuzaki.” Light manages to respond, keeping his gaze ahead of him, before walking towards the elevator. When he gets to his room, he ignores Misa’s touches and jabbering and opens his laptop, typing “pasta sauce recipes no tomato” into the search bar.

Hi and Welcome to: My poorly formatted argument for L being an INTJ.
(No spoilers, also posted on Personality Database.)
Ni- While L may entertain multiple possibilities, his rational analysis usually leads him to a singular conclusion. Once he reaches a decision, he sinks his teeth in and never lets go. He concluded who Kira was from the beginning, and no amount of emotional arguing ever changes his mind. In fact, when it seemed like there was even a possibility of him being wrong, he claimed to be depressed and unmotivated. Even when it seems as though surface level-evidence proves one thing, he follows his intuition when the "proof" fails to convince him of anything else.
Te- L is blunt and borderline tactless. He states facts and rational with little to no regard for how he comes across to other people. He is also not above using emotional manipulation if it means reaching his goal. In fact, as stated, L is not one to be persuaded in his logic in the slightest until empirical evidence presented to him convinces him to do so. He tends to like people who are useful and not "irrational," AKA not Matsuda.
Fi- Despite all of this, L does follow an internal moral code. It is shown to be internal because he shows little regard for outside established morals and the law itself; he wasn't above using torture, which is frowned upon in most cases. L tends to also push boundaries quite a bit, making those around him uncomfortable to the point where they refuse to continue working with him. It is heavily implied that L has his own internal definition of justice and kindness (examples could be found in the novels.) He has very few people in his inner circle, such as Watari; he never truly lets anyone else in, if we're only talking about the anime. He's also not very expressive; L hardly ever talks about how he's feeling, and in general seems to be very stoic until he's caught off-guard. He also profiled Kira by comparing his own personality to that of Kira himself; very Fi.
Se- Despite how he appears, L is quite strong and athletic. He was once the British Junior Tennis Champion, a feat obviously requiring an above average athletic skill. He's also adept at martial arts, able to introduce his foot into someone's face while still being handcuffed to them. His diet consists of almost entirely sweet foods, and he indulges with little regard to decorum. He also cares little for his outer appearance; he wears worn clothes, sits in an odd position, has his hair uncut (or maybe he likes it like that idk), and for some reason doesn't wear shoes instead of just getting fucking sandals.
There are also a few incidental reasons such as:
1) His and Light's personalities are often compared to eachother, I find it hard to think of anything other than the similarities between ENTJ/INTJ.
2) Alessandro Juliani's (dub) performance has this cadence and smoothness I often see in fictional characters who could be categorized as INTJ (trait of Se...?)
3) INTP's are often seen as charming to those around them. While L is beloved by the audience, he is instead seen as off-putting by other characters around him. Those people are wrong; L is the most adorable thing to ever grace this planet with his presence and they should be THANKFUL—wait where was I going?
I'd like to thank @pennyblossom-meta for giving me the inspiration to write this post, her L analysis is to die for. I also credit @funkymbtifiction for basically being my source for personality analysis growing up.
Anyway thanks for coming to my Tedtalk BYYYE✨✨✨

Hey hope you're having a great week! n.n. What's been your favorite thing about Tetro Chapter 4 so far?
Thank you! My week been a bit stressful, but otherwise alright for the most part.
Sooooo with how far ch.4 going, I feel like I have multiple favorite things with it. Like to list them out
More Hama and Wada book club content
Wada gets a banger new redesign from the beloved problematic king himself Hiroaki
We get to see the aftermath effects ch.3 had on Ken, Wada, and Watari. Ken feeling like everything is grey now that Kazutoshi is gone, Wada feeling like he can’t take care of anything(including himself) and that he should’ve died instead of Isono, or Watari feeling guilty over Okazaki’s actions which eventually lead to her killing 2 people.
As much I hate it because I want them to be happy, I do love seeing how much affect the killing game has on everyone as they’re either breaking down, questioning their faith in their religion, thinking they’ll die young, or survivor guilt of wondering why they made it this long.
Momomoko character development
Nishino becoming more flesh out(she became a top fav of mine after her student spotlight interview) and being able to look back on her actions with better context on why she acted that way.
Oh! While it's not a lot, its enough to have Tamba lore to know exactly her background with her talent and folks….she deserves to go with Hama and Watari to Hama’s house after listening what her parents did to her. Glad to finally have some info on her to flesh her out. I hope we get more before the next BDA or in a potential student spotlight if she lives long enough to get one.
HASASHIGEKI CONTENT WOO HOOOO❤️💙 I love it! They are so doomed tho
The entire episode of Bruises had me in shambles. I wish I could undoom Mai and Ojima from the narrative so they can live happy with their families and Ojima to get therapy.
Honestly a lot of this chapter is great so far and I just know its going to tear us into big emotional pieces before the big finale of ch.5

Ranking and reviewing the musicals I saw in 2024!
Starting this in April so I don't have the freshest memory for the first two but the rest will all be done as soon as possible after I see them!
Six - Already seen this show twice but its still such a cool experience! Last time I went to see it was pretty close together so it was the same cast for both but this time it was obviously a different one gchkfkjgv- I think I preferred the cast I saw before though, this one wasn't bad at all they just had better chemistry. Also this time I genuinely didn't care for Heart Of Stone. I hate it on the soundtrack so I was expecting to hate it on stage but when I went to see it the first two times I ADORED it. I thought it just couldn't be done justice by the soundtrack but now I think its just one that is either incredible or boring, no in-between. Her little speech before the song almost made me cry though so it's not that she was a bad actor, I just think she's better at acting than acting through song. ANYWAY ENOUGH ABOUT HEART OF STONE a really interesting thing about going to see a show again a few years later is that you see what lines they've changed and added (and also what lines were complete lies like no I don't remember you from my GCSEs yall have not been mentioned once fthdrhutfxhtc/silly). Idk its just cool to me seeing how shows change over time. Also the actors weren't all negative compared to the ones I've seen before! This Katherine Howard was INCREDIBLE. I fucking ADORED All You Wanna Do, it's not my favourite song but it's DEFINETLY my favourite one on stage GOSH she smashed it out of the park. Absolutely loved every second.
Rating 7/10, would be higher but seeing a better version of this show put this version down for me. Still really fun though!!!!
Your Lie In April - I've spoken about this one before so I'll keep it brief, really good show, was very cool to see the first English performance of it and I geeked out hardddd during it. Was incredibly funny which was surprising given how sad of a manga YLIA is but it was very pleasant still. Watari was the best character they gave him all the best jokes and you could just tell his actor was having an absolute blast playing him he was LOVING it. But on the negative side, there was a lot of pacing issues in the second act and some lines were really awkward to the point people were laughing at lines that were meant to be sad. I don't think it's the actors fault, I think the book just could've had more work done on it, it mightve been TOO directly translated. Also the pacing issues could've been at least a little helped by getting rid of the 8 minute scene were Kousei practices playing his song like it was cool but did we really need that when you CUT THE FINAL DUET??? LIKE YOU COULDVE KEPT THAT AND JUST INCLUDED KAORI I COULDVE FORGIVEN THE PACING ISSUES IF YOU DIDNT CUT ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT SCENES IN THE STORY- oh and there were a few too many songs like I love myself shows with 50 songs on the soundtrack (Hamilton and Next To Normal my beloveds) but the pacing issues could've been really helped by cutting one or two of them, as good as they were. The show could've really been helped by being just a little bit longer.
Rating 7.5/10 Still really enjoyable show and I really hope to see it again because I'm sure the quality will improve!! But as it is its not the greatest it can be even though the potential is there. The only reasons it's higher than six is because Watari was fucking hilarious, the scene where Emi and Takashi show up on bikes for NO fucking reason, the songs being bangers that I really want to listen to again cast recording when, and Young Kousei started break-dancing during the bows it was incredible.
Waitress - I wasn't going to include this one since it's not a physical performance but like. I'm gonna do it anyway bc there was only one showing of it at the cinema so like its basically just as cool right?/silly And anyway proshots are the only way I can see Broadway shows so this was only my second exposure to one and DAMN AM I JEALOUS OF U AMERICANS (my first was Hamilton's proshot btw which doesn't really show the full extent of Broadway since its one set throughout the whole show but that one is still amazing ofc)
The set design? Fucking IMMACULATE it was incredible GOD. Literally some of the coolest sets I've ever seen in my entire life (ngl probably THE coolest) and the fucking PIE FRIDGES ON EITHER SIDE OF THE STAGE??? LIKE????? HELLO????????? Making that many props must've taken forever what the fuck. Just the props and sets in general astounded me. I've done shows with props and sets before and I've seen them with props and sets before but never have I seen so many, not to mention how gorgeous they all looked. Genuinely wondering if some of the pies were real or if they were all props bc they were legit eating them like god those must be a pain to make for 8 shows a week-
I adore the characters and plot. I'd already seen the movie (which isn't a musical, was very disappointed when i discovered that lmao) so I had a vague knowledge of what I was going into but it still blew me away. I was genuinely sobbing throughout the entire show I'm not even joking 😭 I'd only heard a few of the songs since I had to sing them for my Musical Theatre grades but hearing them sung on stage gave me fucking goosebumps still, ESPECIALLY Sara Bareilles' songs. She's always been my favourite Jenna so it was amazing seeing her perform it. There's just something about seeing someone perform songs they wrote that destroys you so much more. However, some of the songs I wasn't really as invested in, the lyrics weren't sung very clearly and it made it difficult to follow along. I'm going to listen to them on the soundtrack at some point but I decided not to do so until I wrote this review as it's for this specific production and not the musical as a whole.
Without spoiling it, a part of the ending was the only thing I personally had an issue with, outside of the song issues I mentioned. I understand why it had to happen for the story and characters and I think it's cute but PLEASE. I WAS SO INVESTED IN THAT PART OF THE PLOT PLEASEEEEEE. It partially makes me question why that part of the plot really happened??? I don't know I guess it could just be me not being knowledgeable on that sort of thing and I can think of a few reasons why they went that route but its still weird to me, especially after this one scene that made me so certain it was going to go in this one direction.
9/10, incredible musical, definitely in my top 5 (for now), but some story and song issues made me push it down a bit.
Hamilton - ALEXANDER HAMILTON!!! I've been waiting to see this show for so long yall don't even KNOW. I've obviously seen the proshot like a shit ton but as yall know that isn't comparable to seeing it on stage. Ofc having already seen it so many times, the impact was lessened but I'm not gonna hold it against this show. When it came to Six the versions I'd seen were on very even playing fields but you can't compare a Broadway pro-shot with the original cast and the writer of the show himself to a UK tour that has only just switched to a new theatre (not that the UK tour was bad in any way shape or form, it was just obviously smaller scale which is completely fair).
First off, let me say, Peggy/Maria was INCREDIBLE. God her voice was fucking gorgeous, the fact that she's only in about 3 songs is criminal and her acting was so amazing. I would love to see her in a show again because I need to see more of her. Layfette/Jefferson was another highlight, god I adored him, he was incredible as Layfette but he turned it up to ELEVEN as Jefferson and I was immediatly hooked whenever he came back on stage, his movements and his acting and vocals were all so animated and it was so goddamn cool to see. The way he says "I tried :(" in *last song* will be stuck in my brain foreverrr.
I actually got a picture of the set before the show and just LOOK at how gorgeous this is
Tumblr media
Like HELLO??? U cannot look at that set and tell me it isn't the coolest shit you've seen in your entire life. This is a good time to mention that I had STALL TICKETS TO THIS. I didn't know until we sat down bc going to this was my 16th birthday present from my Grandma (I love her so so much) and all she told me was that we were going to Hamilton nothing else WACHJXFHG- so yeah that was absolutely insane. I got a great view as well so YIPPEE!!! Definetly elevated my experience as I was far enough from the stage where I could see at least a good deal of it and close enough where I could see the expressions and it was SO COOL.
Also before I get onto problems I have to say that this show had possibly the FUNNIEST 9 year old Phillip performance I've seen it was fucking incredible, he like jumped up and WRAPPED HIS ENTIRE BODY AROUND HAMILTON AND I WAS JUST DYING WAVVGHJFGH- I thought the thing of a grown ass man playing a 9 year old was funny before but this production took it to a whole other level literally had my head in my hands laughing so goddamn hard it was amazing.
I think my biggest problem with the show was honestly Burr. Like I wasn't the biggest fan of Hamilton himself but he absolutely had his moments, especially when he was singing (and in Farmer's Refute he was so fucking funny in that song). And The World Was Wide Enough was incredible, honestly I think he really shined in Act 2, he was amazing in that, Act 1 was more of the issue. But Burr I didn't really like for most of the show. Not as a character because Burr is absolutely one of my favourites, most of my top 5 songs from this show either feature him or are only him (the only outlier being Say No To This) so it was relatively disappointing that his performance didn't click with me, especially since Burr is such an important character. I will say that The Room Where It Happened was SPECTACULAR but otherwise yeah I wasn't a fan. My favourite song in the show is Dear Theodosia and the fact that that was probably one of my least favourite moments in this specific production says a lot. He did have his moments like Hamilton's Act 1 performance did, but otherwise I was not a fan. Also I saw more of Burr in Laurens' actor than I did Burr's so like. Yeah. He's not a bad actor or singer I just don't think he's that great of a Burr.
Eliza is kind of a middle ground for me, because she had moments where she was absolutely incredible and then moments where I was just like hhhhhhh. Her actress had a gorgeous voice and it was very distinct, like whenever the ensemble sang you could pick her out easily, I love her voice so much. But early on in songs like Helpless her voice had a tendency to sound very nasally and pick me-ish (idk how else to describe it), especially on the "I Do's", like Helpless had me WORRIED. But she really does improve as the show goes on and she grew on me a ton. It's just early on where I wasn't that keen on her. Songs like Burn and *last song* are where her voice really shined, god those were absolutely incredible. Also I will say, she is a *very* new Eliza, the old Eliza's run ended just before I saw it (which I was pretty sad about ngl because I was so looking forward to seeing her) so I will give her the benefit of the doubt because for one of her first shows as Eliza she did a fucking amazing job despite certain bits at the start being not the best.
To end on a more positive note, I'm not much of a dancer (leg problems ayyyyyy) so I can't speak too much on the choreography but it was absolutely breath-taking, anyone who's seen Hamilton knows how incredible the choreography is no matter who's directed it but god I adored it. The movement really does make this show I swear. I wish I could've watched all of the ensemble do their thing the whole way through because the Hamilton ensemble is always an absolute highlight of the show and they all did an incredible job god I wish I could watch just that choreography again I'm in LOVE with it all.
Another 9/10, Burr's performance would've tanked it a bit more but everything else was so incredible that I really can't score it too low, if it weren't for Burr I probably would've liked it more than the proshot and for people who've seen the proshot you know that's a LOT to say. Brilliant show, would love to see it again. If the Burr changes I will be FIGHTING for a ticket because that's bound to be a life changing experience.
Bonnie And Clyde - Is a show I was going to see but the UK tour got cancelled due to poor ticket sales :( I'm really bummed about it bc I legit had front row seats to it. But we used the refund to get tickets to Chicago next April so yippee!!! Sad I can't yap about seeing it in person but I hope to watch the proshot at some point!!! I sadly haven't gotten around to it at the time of finishing this post but Jeremy Jordan is in it so I'll get around to it eventually.
Dear Evan Hansen - Okay writing this over a month late bc I wrote the Hamilton one in fucking June and I went to go see this in October so I straight up forgot I was doing this 😭😭 but yeah it's November now. The day of me seeing Book Of Mormon is closer than the day I went to go see DEH. Wild. So yeah bc of this, this section may not be as in depth as the rest due to it having been so long BUT!!! I will try my best!!!
First things first, I was SCARED for this show. Hamilton showed me what having an actor who didn't work for the role in one of the most important roles of the show could do, and given Evan is around ALL the time I was begging he would be good. And guess what? He was... AMAZING‼️‼️ Absolutely loved him, genuinely I would kill to see him in more performances because he was incredible. I doubt that would happen bc he's from a different part of the country from me but honestly he deserves to go on as many tours as he damn pleases. Honestly the entire cast was solid, there wasn't a single actor I didn't think fit their character, they were all really well cast. Zoe had a few weird moments here and there but it was literally opening night in a completely different venue, I cannot give two shits, go girl go u slayed.
Connor was definetly my favorite character, I was most excited about this because of him as the soundtrack doesn't really give you much Connor Content™️. As someone who's read the book though I genuinely wish there was more of him (I know the book is based off the musical but it's way better fight me). Connor is just as much of the main character as Evan is, and whilst I know that trying to squeeze in more character stuff with him would've been generally very difficult I kinda just wish he was lurking on stage at times, would've been a good metaphor for Connor's looming prescence over Evan that he self-imposed and now he's having to deal with the constant consequences of. We do get a few moments of Evan's version of Connor talking to him (or singing with him in the case of Sincerely Me, my second favorite song here as Connor's actor was brilliant, it was staged amazingly, and ofc its the only comedic song in the show so you're bound to get a lot of enjoyment out of it), but I wish his presence were more frequent, its a musical man get creative!!!!
The set was incredible, genuinely they knocked it out of the park, especially given it was a relatively small venue, at least compared to some of the ones I know it was performed at previously. They had moving kitchens and different bedroom sets and it was sickkkk!!!!!! Straight up loved the set design. And the songs were gorgeous, everyone had a beautiful voice which honestly should be expected given it was a tour but I already told yall about Hamilton, and tbf I have seen a few shows where the actors take an entire act to start sounding good 😭😭 (Veronica in the performance of Heathers I saw at this same theatre I am talking to you I hated her in the first act and then suddenly in act 2 she blew me away like GIRL WHERE WERE U HIDING THAT VOICE HUH????) So this was just genuinely a really cool thing to me, idk how they can sing so incredibly for 2 hours straight its mesmerising.
The best part about this show was being able to see my favourite song performed though because it was CUT OUT OF THE MOVIE. THE MOST IMPORTANT SONG IN THE SHOW (IN MY OPINION) WAS CUT FROM THE MOVIE. Good For You fucking SLAPS and I was estatic to be able to see it in its full context and glory. Evan is a sympathetic character but he's also a character that NEEDS to be held accountable for his horrible actions and the fact that the movie barely did that has always pissed me off so thank you performance of DEH in its best form you have avenged me.
8/10, I generally still had some issues with it, I dont think this show is the best it can be (I still kind of hate the ending) and I probably would've had more negative things to talk about if I wrote this review earlier, but still a great show! Evan's actor should be given as much work as humanly possible I will FIGHT FOR HIM.
Book Of Mormon- OKAY SO UM. ITS BEEN A MONTH AGAIN. ITS LITERALLY 2025 NOW. I was finally gonna write this review after my birthday bc I was hella busy before and then I got really sick. Oops! BUT!!! I CAN YAP NOW!!!
This is one of my favorite musicals, straight up no lie. I was listening to the HELL outta it after I went to go see it, I listened to Spooky Mormon Hell Dream like 67 times one day 😭 the soundtrack is just. Incredible. SMHD is definetly my favourite song, it's so cool on stage and literally everything about it makes me go crazy but some other highlights were Hello!, Turn It Off, and I Believe. I've had them all stuck in my head since I saw it.
I didn't have a single issue with any of the actors or honestly just anything about this show, which is shocking because I thought like there has to be at least one person who I won't be fond of because that's been the case all year, but genuinely they all did an absolutely amazing job and I adored every actor, I couldn't get enough. Obviously this show is a bit crude and there were moments when I was like oh. Oh no. But I can't blame that on the show, its by the South Park creators what can you expect? I still loved those parts, the best thing about going mostly solo (my mom decided she wanted to go last second but obviously couldn't sit with me) was that I didn't have to worry about how the people with me would react to it, I just got to have fun!
The sets were absolutely gorgeous in this show, I obviously couldn't get a pic of any of them because unlike Hamilton it's not just one but here's the boarder around the stage! It was so pretty!
Tumblr media
Also yes I had an insanely good seat, row B baby! I have never been this close to the stage ever and i was so giddy. It's genuinely so cool being able to see all the little details on the props up close!
The costume design was also incredible, I've found out it's standardised across all the performances so it's not exactly a perk of this specific performance but I still want to yap about it! The demon costume for the General was so freaking awesome, honestly all the costumes for SMHD were cool as hell. Genuinely I encourage you to look up a video of this song being performed because whilst it won't be as cool as seeing it live (and from what I've seen the sets aren't as cool as the one I saw), the costumes are awesome and the song is just genuinely fun to see performed!
The two main characters were obviously the highlight of the show, their chemistry was crazy and every single moment they had together just had me smiling so wide, they're absolutely perfect. Kevin my beloved I could never hate him 🙏🙏🙏‼️‼️ Even if the rest of the show wasn't as good as it is, I'd still love it purely because of these two. They're so silly 😭😭💖💖🌸🌸🌸
Also I just want to mention that during Turn It Off, Kevin has a vest like all the rest of the elders and he looks so fucking confused it was amazing, as soon as the dance bit is over bro just rips it off and goes to sit with an equally confused Arnold who comforts him it's so funny 😭😭😭 literally acted perfectly I adored it
10/10. The plot of this show isn't much to ride home about, it's not like a life changing experience or anything, but it doesn't have to be! Its a musical! The Book of Mormon is just a genuinely fun, creative, hilarious show and I enjoyed every minute of it! I was genuinely desperate to see it again and I have never felt that way about a show before now. It completely smashes what it sets out to accommplish and I wouldn't change a thing about it. Not my favourite musical ever but honestly I think it knocked Waitress out of my top 5 lmao, sorry Waitress- I would put it at Number 3 or 4 probably!
And now!!! Ranking time!!!
6. Six
5. Your Lie In April
4. Dear Evan Hansen
3. Waitress
2. Hamilton
1. Book Of Mormon
This was genuinely really fun to do and I love going to see musicals so this genuinely might become a yearly thing! I'm seeing a decent number this year despite thinking I wasn't going to as shows keep popping up so ill probably have enough for another list like this! (spoiler alert I'm almost 100% convinced that Hadestown will be my number 1 but we'll see!!! Literally my only exposure to that show has been ads as I want to go in as blind as possible past what I already know Greek myth wise but I know it'll be spectacular)
If you've gotten to the end thank you for reading, I really appreciate it‼️‼️‼️💖💖💖🌸🌸🌸 I know it's a long ass post

Kaiju Week in Review (February 11-17, 2024)
vimeo
Warner Bros. unfurled the second trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which seems to be going over much better than the first. There are multiple glimpses of the ice Titan Shimo throughout, and an even briefer look at Mothra reflected in Jia's eye. (My favorite shot, of course, is Kong decking Skar King as he's holding out Suko like a wriggling shield.) The rough shots from trailer #1 still look rough, but at least the new footage is more impressive.
The new issue of Empire (how fitting) has a short article on GxK—the big revelation there is that Godzilla Evolved is pink simply because that's director Adam Wingard's favorite color. Collaborations are also popping up. Circle K is offering a movie-branded sandwich, chocolate bar, and Froster drinks/cups. Godzilla and a seriously wizened Kong are also entering the mobile game Lords Mobile.

I don't know much about Oscar politicking, but Takashi Yamazaki's strategy of bringing a model Godzilla with him everywhere he goes seems like a winner. Both appear in the "class photo" taken of all the nominees at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon. At the same event, Yamazaki and Godzilla met with Steven Spielberg, who told Yamazaki he had seen Godzilla Minus One three times. Posting their photo together on Twitter, Yamazaki said he had "met God."
Toho's English Godzilla YouTube channel also uploaded a six-minute video on Minus One's VFX, with a focus on the various ways the production was able to shave off costs. Officially translated behind-the-scenes featurettes for Toho Godzilla films are a rarity, a sign of how badly they want that little gold statue. It's worth watching just for Yamazaki scooting his chair around the office.

Shout! Factory's onslaught of old Toei tokusatsu films on its streaming service turned out to be a prelude to offering them all on disc. The Classic Tokusatsu Collection Blu-ray set includes Planet Prince (1959; called Prince of Space), Invasion of the Neptune Men (1961), Watari the Ninja Boy (1966), The Golden Bat (1966; called Golden Ninja), Magic Serpent (1966; called Dragon Showdown) , Ninja Scope (1969), and Terror Beneath the Sea (1966). None have ever been released on English-friendly Blu-ray before; some haven't even made it to DVD. The set is $70 and limited to 2,500 copies.
Major caveats seem to accompany every English-language release of vintage tokusatsu these days, and unfortunately this set's no exception. Despite the existence of English dubs for at least some of these films (two of them riffed on Mystery Science Theater 3000), only Terror Beneath the Sea is dubbed; the rest are Japanese-only. And the dubbed Prince of Space well-known to MiSTies was actually an amalgamation of Toei's two Planet Prince films, only the first of which is present here. (Even the first film seems like it's going to be in upscaled standard-def, going off the streaming version.) No special features in the production description either, although one person who got the set early reports that at least one trailer is included (for Invasion of the Neptune Men).

IDW has announced still another Godzilla miniseries, Godzilla: Skate or Die. First-issue description:
It's Australian skater punks versus Varan and the King of the Monsters in this thrilling debut issue by writer/artist Louie Joyce (A Fistful of Pain)! Four years ago, four best friends and die-hard skaters found the perfect location for a DIY skatepark. After months of hard work, they created the world’s sickest spot that they could enjoy for the rest of their lives… That is, until the ferocious Varan appeared in the middle of central Australia and started making a beeline for their beloved park. Why is Varan on a rampage? Why did Godzilla just appear off the coast? What does their beloved skate spot have to do with this? And most importantly…what are these punks willing to do to save it?
Sounds like there's a lot of author appeal here, as Joyce is Australian and calls the tale "inspired by all the amazing DIY spots I've had the privilege of skating[.]" And a meaty role for Varan is a pleasant surprise.

Perhaps inspired by the success of Troll on Netflix, we've got another Scandinavia giant monster movie on the way. Kraken will be directed by Pal Oie (Dark Woods) from a script by Vilde Eide. No cast yet, but here are the plot details divulged by The Hollywood Reporter:
[T]he thriller will follow Johanne, a marine biologist who encounters several strange occurrences while researching a fjord, including the brutal deaths of two local teenagers. “At the bottom of Norway’s deepest fjord rests a mythical monster as large as a mountain, with a myriad of arms ready to crush and devour anything they can grab,” the film’s synopsis reads.
Krakens are certainly having a moment in giant monster stories right now, between Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken and the three that somehow wound up connected to the Monsterverse. (To wit: Na Kika was originally called Kraken, the unnamed antagonist of Skull Island bore the same name internally, and the guardian of Atlantis in the Justice League crossover comic is a Kraken as well.) This seems like a more back-to-basics approach.

oh please talk about kawanishi taichi i love that silly guy
OF COURSE ANON I TOO LOVE THAT SILLY GUY LET'S GET IT!!
(also i am SO sorry for taking so long oh my god i am back in action and catching up i promise!!)
i think he likes beanies in his casual wear
idk kawanishi feels like such a beanie person but not the douchebag slouchy ones he's got one that's a little snug and has something embroidered on it like a bird or something
okay that's a lie. he has ONE douchebag slouchy beanie that makes him look like how a high school romance shoujo mangaka of the mid-2000s would dress a flashy somewhat-delinquent teenage boy (honey lemon soda my beloved)
this, of course, could not be farther from the truth
the entire second year is scared of him bc they never somehow realize he's there until he says something and they're like "holy SHIT". this also means he knows a bunch of hot gossip
(the hot gossip miyagi group chat: kawanishi, watari, onagawa, and narita)
on the other hand. that means the students of 2-5 win the contest for "best cultural festival attraction" between classes bc they had the best haunted house the miyagi prefecture had ever seen
he's on really good terms with the school nurse because sometimes he sneaks into the infirmary to take naps during lunch or gym periods
knows how to lockpick BECAUSE he keeps trying to sneak into the infirmary. and occasionally the school roof for their "team bonding picnics" so that tendou doesn't have to keep swiping the key from the student council
i'm not just saying this bc i like enamel pins but i think kawanishi DOES like enamel pins. he's got a collection of these edgy sarcastic ones that he thinks are hilarious in a "started-ironically-and-now-i-can't-stop-pipeline" kind of way
he's got this whole tumblr-grunge-indie-hipster thing going on with his douchebag slouchy beanie and denim jacket with pins all over the collar and ripped jeans and converse sneakers and shirabu thinks he pulls it off unfairly well
i feel like kawanishi also really likes fantasy/sci-fi and is actually SUCH a huge secret nerd about it. and really likes cyberpunk and fantasyland settings you'd get from like idk snow white with the red hair or nivalis (i KNOW it's an indie game that's not even out yet but sue me i don't know cyberpunk all that well)
he and tsukki actually become friends while arguing about how much of akira is deep meaning and how much of it is actually just straight up bullshit because WHAT the fuck was that
also he's subscribed to a bunch of these small artists on youtube who make background music and fun art to go with them bc he can put together a great soundtrack for getting hw and studying done
likes getting lil gifts for shirabu, especially to add to his stationary collection. shirabu has sticky notes in the shape of whales and ice cream and paper lanterns and washi tape with fireworks and beach motifs and bakery stuff and it's all because of kawanishi
kawanishi just sticks to the plain solid-color square sticky notes that he uses to leave shirabu notes around his dorm. just small things, really, a reminder that this is a place shirabu belongs and it is a place he is loved. you're doing great. get some water soon. i'll bring you dinner, just text me. don't forget to sleep.
and shirabu will be hard pressed to admit it, but those might be his favorite sticky notes of all

what are your opinions now on the dn jdrama? :D
I really liked it!! I definitely had fun watching it, in fact, here's a list of assorted things I enjoyed about it (spoilers for like. the whole show under the cut)
How it used your knowledge of the source material against you:
The first example of this I think happens with Raye's involvement, up until then things remained largely the same except for the changes made to Light's character and him having personal connections to the first two murders, and so when the busjacking comes along you assume Light's gonna get the name easily and things will keep playing out in a similar fashion. But then Raye's revealed to still be in the game. Then once it gets to Light's next plan to get the FBI out of the way, you think that Raye's a goner due to how it played out in canon, but he's NOT and Misa has to come save Light's ass!
Past that we kinda get settled back into the main plot beats we're used to seeing, L showing up at Light's university, the confinement, yotsuba arc, but then once we're expecting for things to continue this way the rug gets pulled from underneath your feet with Mikami stealing Misa's death note and getting involved much earlier! Then things keep happening in a similar fashion to this, stuff like L's death, Soichiro realizing that Light is Kira, the Task Force being onto Light afterwards due to what Soichiro told them, the whole warehouse showdown being a trap for Light that everybody else is in on. And even if you know the whole source material front to back, the last few episodes still feel like an absolute rollercoaster due to how your own expectations are used against you, and it makes for an INCREDIBLY fun watch :)
Mikami being allowed to interact with other characters more:
In the original story's plot he feels largely isolated from the main cast, which makes sense since Light's having him act for him so he doesn't get caught at that point, but nevertheless seeing Mikami getting more of a chance to be involved was awesome. Ryuk remaining tethered to him for quite a while and Mikami telling him his backstory, him Misa and Light meeting up on their little rooftop (and later a maid cafe lol), and him getting the honor of killing L???? GOOD STUFF
Raye:
Manga/anime Raye could NEVER be as badass as jdrama Raye (or Mark ig), he was so so good and I loved how he felt like an actual threat this time around
Peak pathetic Light and L content:
I'm always wishing to see them doubled over and gasping in pain more, and the jdrama DELIVERED. Loved that shit
Himura:
She was so cool, and I was NOT expecting for her to kinda be like this universe's Lidner and Naomi mixed together. That got a gasp out of me
The Task Force:
I'M SO HAPPY THEY'RE GENUINE FRIENDS IN HERE, EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT WAS AMAZING. Task Force my beloveds <3333333
Watari, L, and Near being a little family:
They got me misty eyed a couple times ngl, and I was thriving the whole entire time. Also, just everything about this Watari was amazing. Jdrama butler dad owns my heart <3

L (No, I'm not Kira, why do you ask?), what is your real name? 🤗
oouh. i've been waiting for this question. thank you for the ask, "stranger."
anyhow. there's a long explanation to it, and since this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, i think i'd like to take the long route to truly illustrate the importance of my name, for it is very special to me.
you might be surprised to know that my name has been passed down through centuries and centuries of generations. watari had informed me of it's high significance when i was a child. many people in my family line were gifted it as a sign of power, dominance, and overall strength. that might seem ironic considering the first letter is an L, but i assure you there is much more meaning as you begin to learn the context of its origins.
if i recall correctly, the first individual to have my name was a respected warrior. a warrior who grew sick and tired of the crime-ridden world he was forced to live in. it was tragic for him, seeing the community which he loved so dearly fall down a path of chaos and disorder. he was determined to bring righteousness back to his village, so he began searching.
as he searched, he came across and old legend of two orbs. these orbs were prophesied to grant balance and order to the user's life. all the user had to do was simply bring the orbs back to the place they wished to restore this lost order and cut them both into halves. this way, the orbs could plant their seeds of light into the area and keep justice firm in its environment.
when the warrior received this knowledge, he knew it was fate. it was his destiny to find these orbs, to bring his village back to the beloved nature that it had lost. and so he searched. he began a long vigorous journey, climbing mountains and fighting monsters of the night. it was treacherous, exhausting, and it had brought him to dark unknowns that he would never be able to forget; however, his journey was worth it. for inside the highest mountaintop of the land laid the golden orbs he was looking for.
he immediately took them and ran back to his village. he ran all the way to the center of the area, carefully laying the orbs down as he took cut his sword through the middle of each.
the orbs cracked apart, their seeds conjoining into a singular magnificent ball of light.
the warrior watched as it sank into the ground, illuminating his dark city into a land of hope. the frowns of his befallen friends had begun to turn into smiles. finally, his land had returned to its beautiful origins. the warrior was overjoyed. so overjoyed that he even began to kiss the cracked halves of these spherical wonders.
now, what was this warrior's name you ask? the name that's been passed throughout centuries? the one i carry onto this day?
...

hello!! this is my selfship introductory post!!!
(i’m posting two versions of this post— one with all these lovely little gifs, and one without, as i know some people can be sensitive to them <33)
my dearly beloved selfship is lawliz 🥰 (or lawlizzie if i want it to sound even cuter lol).
it’s of. uhhhhhh. me and the sweets loving detective from death note/// 👉👈
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(no this isn’t suggestive, it’s just y2k in-universe and i LOVE y2k clothing lol)
Tumblr media
some basics on the selfship!!!
Tumblr media
we appear to be solar opposites in a bunch of different ways!
he’s calm and collected, always keeping things to himself unless he wants to ruin someone’s entire life and be painfully blunt about something HAKDJAHDSJS. whereas i seemingly am open, emotional, and spirited!!
my alias is “juliette rae ambers” (YES i created a full ass pseudo name dhsjdkajdjajajs). but to distinguish me irl and in-selfship-universe me, i’ll refer to my self insert as “juliette” whenever i talk about them.
L first met juliette through a past case, as they did some SHADY looking shit lmao. she’s just that eccentric and erratic <333
SO after spending some time with her, he eventually realizes they’re not apart of the case. like at ALL. but L basically goes “okay. wait, what the fuck’s wrong with her actually?” and continues to spend time with them because of that HAHAJDJSJSKSJS (again— juliette is eccentric and unpredictable.)
watari brings up how excited and affectionate juliette gets whenever he catches a glimpse of them together. L doesn’t get why watari is bringing this up. watari suggests that perhaps, juliette has a crush on L.
yeah, so L’s brain crashes DHSKDJSKDJAJHSAKS
he didn’t even think of that as a POSSIBILITY because he views himself as undesirable, ugly, creepy, etc (🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺)
so L brings this up with juliette. she denies it terribly (because they’re such a mess when they’re flustered), but after relenting, L reveals that he brought it up because he’s interesting in learning more about it. he has trouble identifying his own emotions and hasn’t been in love before, so he asks me to be apart of a study. it’s just information, essentially, letters detailing specific sensations and lovey dovey thoughts i get of him.
i agree to it because i LOVE psychology and have always wanted to be apart of a psychological study!
but at this point, L isn’t in love with me. he slowly falls over time, much to his mental debates on if it’s “ethical” or not. (he’s overthinking it!!! ALSO, WOW, L thinking about morals when it comes to someone?? they must be a ~special someone~ to him 🤭)
the stoic character who keeps to himself is (mutually) in love with the visually expressive, musically inclined jester!!! (does this make sense 😭)
juliette is with L throughout the entire kira case. the first time the taskforce meets L, she’s just standing to his right side (it’s a whole thing) in a lolita getup, so they assume, like watari, that juliette is a maid to L of sorts. but NO, juliette just fucking LOVES fashion lmaooooooo
ANYWAYS, what i’m trying to get to is that juliette loves music. it connects to them on such a deep level, and they love to sing and entertain. so sometimes, as a break/interlude in the kira case, she sings and plays songs. (they’re oddly captivating… just like a performer at an event.)
L can’t have the taskforce knowing him and juliette’s interpersonal relationship, so he and juliette have silently agreed to refer to each other as “associates” whenever the question comes up.
juliette talks out loud a lot as a habit. but, again, she likes to be entertaining first and foremost, so she only says things she thinks will be the most intriguing. she can keep to herself just fine. but L knows. he knows how intentional everything they do is. he can relate, and is intrigued about this part of them. and without fail, he listens, catalogues, and responds to everything she says U///U because he caaaaares 🥹🥹🥹 (much to light’s annoyance during the case lol)
once misa starts to reside in the taskforce headquarters, you fucking KNOW she and juliette would become ✨fashion besties✨ヽ(>∀<☆)ノ 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
juliette is very silly, laidback, loose, witty, thoughtful, and compassionate. will and has been promptly serious when the time calls for it.
juliette has forced L to watch rocky horror with them so. many. times. it’s now their couple movie of sorts aha <3
juliette cannot STAND light. he’s such an arrogant bitch baby, so she insults and burns him constantly (which L… enjoys 👀 JFKSJFKSJDKSJS, HE LOVES THE FACT THAT I CAN DEFEND MYSELF AND THAT I’M NOT A DOORMAT)
it’s so interesting to listen to these two talk. cause like, L is formal, a bit oddly polite in his wording, and naturally uses long words here and there. juliette, on the other hand, is very casual in speech. she casually swears, she refers to others with “dude,” “bro,” and “man,” and uses some slang words here and there. the taskforce members gawk at the sheer contrast sometimes.
so juliette’s mainly goth, right?? misa introduces her to the fashion, and she fucking loves it. her usual goth color combo is hot pink and black!!
…buuuuuut, juliette likes fashion in general, so sometimes she wear “pretty in pink” ass y2k outfits, then at other times glam rock-y, then gritty type of clothing, then elegant, they girly, then—
L loves to see whatever outfit they come up with (he for sure spoils the FUCK out of her hahajdjsjsja awwwwwwwww 😊 <333)
THEY’RE LITERALLY THE “plain boyfriend + alt girlfriend” COUPLE DHSKDHKADJKASJKASJAJA
i could go on and on, but this is an INTRODUCTORY post, soo……….. these are the basics of their dynamic!! i will post art, fics, and just ramble posts in general talking about it!!! :]
you can find more content in my “accidental emo boy meets intentional goth girl(gender neutral)” tag on here, OR on my new, selfship only account @lawliz-indulgence !
i love this little selfshipping community, xxx (✿ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)
