(also, Ingo wasn't sent in time in this au. Nobori, their ancestor, is seperate from ingo but they do share some sort of bizarre reincarnation/genetic memory type bs in there.)

basically ingo headed to another part of the station to do smth and got eeby deebied

one week later he stumbles out from the same place he went, now in his hisui outfit (time dilation or smth idc i am the one in control not you)

and the first thing he does is loudly announce to the staff break room "new rule: no breaking the time-space continuum in the subway" and promptly passes out

it's dead silent for about three seconds and then emmet yells "WHAT"

that is all have a nice day/night/etc

Oh i just had an Idea

What if Emmet hard about the paldea hole making Pokémon out of imagination real and snuck in there and imagined and made a concept of a Pokémon that helps fallers? Like he knows Ingo fell back in time and he hears about paradox pokemon and he just Goes. He is attached to the Pokémon from the beginning btw none of that seeing it as a tool cliché Emmet is not that kind of person, even in grief imo. Maybe he'd feel guilty about it but he makes up for that by treating it the best he can. He does tell Elesa and the rest of his family that hell be going off the grid for a bit and makes arrangements for a temporary subway boss for the subway so no one thinks he died or whatever. And then he makes use of his months of backed up vacation time. Idk what is up with the machine but if it's off he'll turn it back on. Hell maybe he gets the government to back him up here, nobody wants the whole fallers thing to happen after all.

The Pokémon is successfull! They bring Ingo back and he is happy to be there :) he's moved that his brother made such an effort to bring him back. And they have a new family member now! The Pokémon goes and comes bc obviously it has a job now but it stops to stay with them often. Ingo and Emmet get to go back to the subway and be happy. The end

Although maybe... They could also work out a way to go back and forth between dimensions and times maybe? So Ingo doesn't have to say forever goodbye to his friends in Hisui. Obviously this would have rules so they don't fuck up the time stream. Oh wait hold on how ironic they would have achieved the paldea professors' dream that way lmfao

Idk how long this whole process would tale by the way. At least a few months at most a few years. Less than four. And Ingo and Emmet will stay in hisui together for some time before leaving. They communicate with the present through letters brought to them and delivered via the Pokémon.

So yeah that's it ig. Feel free to tell me about any ideas you have unless they're too angsty or make ur own story out of this (do tag me tho. Again tho if it's too angsty tell me or just avoid tagging me altogether. This was made with the intention of no angst happening that's too heavy.) And tell the world. Or neither of those do what u want lol

Some context for the image under the cut:

It was common for Pokemon and items to slip through the space-time distortions. What made this occasion memorable was that an entire train station platform slipped through during the night.

Akari went to investigate when she heard the report. Despite it being early in the morning, she wasn't the first one to arrive. Ingo was there, sitting on a bench, deep in thought.

"Hey, Ingo," Akari greeted as she sat down beside him, cradling her sleeping Rowlet, "Are you waiting on a train?"

"Good morning, Miss Akari," Ingo said, blinking as if waking from a dream. "I'm afraid no trains will be coming into the station today. The tracks stop after a point, uncoupling this station from its sister stop."

"Maybe they'll be reconnected one day? After we sort out this whole space-time distortion stuff."

"That would be the most favorable outcome, yes."

Ingo relapsed into his thoughts, a shadow cast over him. A hush fell over the trio.

When the sun rose far enough into the sky to burn away some of the fog hanging around the station, Ingo finally stood up and readjusted his worn out hat.

"Let's prepare for departure, Miss Akari! It's an excellent day to make tracks in your journey."

"Yes, let's!" Akari sprang up, eager to start the day.
