Picture dump time! These are fan-sketches I made of Dystopian Wars, my latest miniatures wargaming obsession. Turns out, I like boats and I cannot lie. Dystopian Wars (DW) is a steampunk/dieselpunk/atompunk alternate history wargame taking place in the year 187X, where great powers have great technology and lack great responsibility. The pictures are not in chronological order; I started with the Korean crafts, did the Polynesian ships and then the Union Atomic ship, then the Greek page, then the Persian Airships. Koreans and Greeks are going to be in the game, so they're baseless speculation on my part. Polynesians were a fan-thing for the Enlightened faction, and I wanted to include a bit of Solarpunk in the designs. Verdict is still out on that. Persian Airships are ludicrous fantasy on my part, based out of the idea of using an archetypical oil lamp as the hull for an airship. In addition, DW has a strong modularity component to it. Each plastic kit can build one thing out of several options, leading to great flexibility in the kits. The Prussians are the best example; if you don't glue down the bridge and primary weapons, you can just have any ship you could build with that kit. I tried duplicating that effect in sketch form, but with the Persians I got fed up and assembled full images of each variation.

Warcradle's November releases include Couronne and Falkenstein Battlefleets and Egyptian Frontline Squadrons #dystopianwars #miniaturegames #warcradle
Three new releases are coming in November for Warcradle‘s Dystopian Wars. Pick from three new sets to start or expand your fleets! Couronne Battlefleet Set The Couronne Grand Carrier is a masterpiece of form entwined with function. Girders and domes more at home in Parisian architecture than on machines of war are accentuated by extravagant filigree to the fore.” Chief Logistical Officer…

So damn self satisfied today!
I made myself some loot tokens for the "Treasure Hunt" scenario of Warcradle Studio's Wild West Exodus. Inspired by the “Firefly” feel of my Wayward Eight Posse, I took some fake Chinese coins I had, painted them antique-ie, and glued them to some small bases!

In the last 48 hours, I have built everything in the stack on my sofa. They're by Battle Systems Tabletop Games & Terrain, and require no glue, though I do advise it for some parts. All their instructions are by video, which is wildly irritating. Please email them about it if you purchase any of their stuff.
Anyway...
Here are the results
The wizard tower took 2.5 hours. Bubby was damn near tears with joy and delight when he saw it. From base to top of roof, I think it's around 20 inches. The roof comes off and the tower splits the talk way so the back comes off. I glued most of the props, like books, in place.
I also made the monastery ruins, which reminded me of Lego because there's no set way to make them. He loves what I did and has no intention of making adjustments.
A little village with four townhouses, a mead haul, and the citadel tower.
For the record, I have built every structure Bubby uses in his D&D campaigns. A good chunk took damage when we made repairs to the garage-turned-game room after the ice storm. Some glue is about all that's needed.
We've come to the conclusion that building things is a special interest of mine. Macrame jewelry involved a lot construction. Quilt making certainly does. Give me a Lego kit (not a random batch of bricks) and I'll be a happy girl.
Bubby has a few dozen more structures for me to build, and many of these things have been in his possession for more than a decade. Right now, I'm putting the low-glue models together because superglue has fumes. I wear a mask when using large amounts of glue, but my eyes water and the living room still has fumes. Doing the building in a different room isn't an option because Reasons.
If you find kits or sets you think I would like to build, hmu. This is loads of fun for me. In hs I was the student set manager/director. More than 20 years after graduation, my hs still uses my backdrops, props, and sets for plays and musicals. A former classmate found me online when I still had a Twatter account and informed me. Keep in mind I was a shy little thing with extreme stage fright, and the only reason I didn't take shop class was due to my seizures. If I could go to trade school, I absolutely would.
Tomorrow, I'm building a Warcradle Studios set called Super City Downtown Set. This will involve glue, but hopefully not too much. I have an air purifier in the bedroom, ready to go.
Taking the week off so my hands cab recover. A week of no cutting, sewing, quilting, or gaming. I'm a builder and need my hands occupied lest I become as a bored cat and irritate people for amusement.
That means I'm building terrainand structures for my husband's D&D stuff. The stuff I'm working on is low impact on my hands, and very engaging. Plus, this stuff doesn't require the use of much glue either, so no fumes.
I would loooooove to go for a walk right now. Making quilts is more physically engaging, especially with how often I go from sitting to standing and vice versa. Not so much with this. It's too hot for a walk though. Too hot for me to be outside, and way too sunny. I'm nearly glow-in-the-dark white and a redhead; summer is not a Good Time for me.
But, hey, at least I'm not bored. Cacoa loves me on the sofa though, and that's what really matters, right?
I hope y'all have an easy week and have time for a hobby!

Awesome detailed 35mm muniatures from @wildwestexodus universe by Warcradle studios. 😻 I love the casts, so far no bubbling or bad casts such as those I've had experience with, assembling Citadel finecast kits. 😑 . . I bought these miniatures mainly to represent the male/female versions of #shadowsofbrimstone #boardgame heroes, but I'm also interested in playing their system. Can't wait to paint them! 😍😍😍🎨 . . . #wwx #waylandgames #warcradlestudios #wildwestexodus #western #steampunk #anachrony #wildwest #miniatures #wargame #skirmish #analoghobbies #analoggames
