How have they been adjusting to the new shape? Do they miss having their cat tail?

it could definitely be going a lot worse!

they're definitely more clumsy, now - being that much taller, and also no longer having the tail for balance threw them off significantly at first, but they've more or less adjusted at this point.

(i think the partial amnesia at the beginning of Endwalker helped them adjust a LOT. they didn't remember the miqo'te-ness, leaving a blank slate for re-learning!)

there are a few things that carried over, though.

they're excessively expressive, for a viera, for one thing. those ears are moving constantly and they can hide nothing. and their teeny little bunnytail is no exception. that thing absolutely wags when they're happy/excited. (is wag the right word? who knows.)

Lethe's sundered form is actually Viera. A ward raised by an Elezen father and Midlander mother. These adoptive parents are the shards of her Ancient/Amaurotine parents and it was Hydaelyn who ensured fate placed her with them as a gesture. Lethe has no knowledge of this connection.

She channelled the Azem Crystal's power augmented by Hydaelyn and was able to reclaim her Ancient / Amaurotine form. However the scrap of creation magic was not perfect and still muddled with her sundered self and memories which affected the visage created. Giving her half-Elezen ears and fangs of her father whilst her Midlander traits come from her mother.

Her Viera form still exists beneath her creation magic. This body carries the weight of her journey as the reluctant WOL. Her skin is scarred and damaged, her fingers blackened from attempting to grab Hades as he entered Amaurot (dungeon), her eyes are grey with brown central heterochromia (same as mun), she is overall more tired than her visage. Some other notes from my earlier post here.

Wishmaster's Concert - Event

Grab your battle jackets, your ear protection, and your tickets! It's time to ROCK!

Event details below the cut.

Welcome to Bald Mountain Arena, the largest performance arena in all of Twisted Wonderland! Located in the tallest mountain along the range of the Shaftlands rests this monumental landmark. Rumored to be the host of spectacular all-night events, Bald Mountain Arena is said to put on some of the most notable alternative rock and metal festivals in history! But they only do so every once in a blue moon.

Tonight, Bald Mountain Arena's Metal Festival is set to occur, hosting some of the most famous metal bands in all of Twisted Wonderland! Once the sun sets, the first band will take the stage. And with enough sets to last until dawn, the highlighted band, Wishmaster, along side UnderDark, Pixie Metal, Fighting Dragons, and Her Draconic Majesty, will make even the bones of the undead rise and shake!

Where do Yuu (you) fit in?

Thanks to Cater's eye on social media, Yuu and the crew managed to snag some tickets just in time! Everyone is planning to meet up at the Dark Mirror with plenty of time to find good spots in the crowd. They might even get a chance to grab a bite to eat - much to Grim's delight - should everyone arrive on time!

Additional Event Background

This event was heavily inspired by a combination of Chernabog's segment in Fantasia (1940), as well as the song "FantasMic" by Nightwish. The song, if you are unfamiliar, is a metal homage to Disney and many of it's iconic works. Referencing of course Fantasia, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, the Black Cauldron, Pinocchio, and many others. (I highly recommend reading the lyrics, y'all. They are beautifully written.) If you need inspiration for this event, I definitely recommend taking a gander at those two inspirations.

The event consists of a lineup of various Disney inspired fake metal bands. The arena is a huge concert arena, with increased security, food trucks, and hydration stations. The crowd will absolutely form rowing lines, conga lines, and a fully realized mosh pit formed in the center below the stage. Glow sticks are permitted!

Cyril Zeman (created by @ramshacklerumble ) is the guest character for the event, and a Chernabog expy. He ia the face of the band Wishmaster, providing the masculine lead voice and lead guitar.

The Pop Music Club absolutely bought tickets for the concert. Even if this isn't Cater's vibe, he can't deny the virality that would come at taking photos for MagiCam. Lilia, of course, not only is eager to go, but he knows Cyril as an acquaintance. (It would be a crime for him NOT to show his support.) But more eager than any of the three to snag this once-in-a-life-time opportunity is Sebek. As described in his 100th Anniversary vignette, Sebek thrives in the concert scene, and will jump at any opportunity for a chance at "training". He knows that the audience here will bring their A game- so of course he has to rock even harder than the rest!

FINALLY I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO DRAW!! This is the design I mentioned on my last post I think, and is greatly inspired in egg-on-a-legg ‘s AM design for the hate speech animatic on youtube, + the Firebird from Disney’s film Fantasia 2000. Erm the phrase has to do with my AU’s lore, and I’m kinda wanting to make something about it, maybe a short comic or something? I’m not entirely sure :p

So I FINALLY got the art of wish book which is so so good and? I’m honestly a little surprised that the only things that got leaked online were the starboy and evil amaya concepts when it’s literally filled with gems? Here’s a few but first let me tell you, the art alone makes it worth it. It’s amazing

THE HAMLET! LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE HAMLET!! Apparently in an early draft Asha and her community had left Rosas and started living hidden in the forest so their wishes could be safe from Magnifico. This hidden place was called “The Hamlet” and it still exists in the final movie, though it’s just a part of Rosas and doesn’t have the original lore. I really hope this trope gets reused for a future Disney movie because it’s a really cool concept!

Oh and you know the wishing tree in the movie? It’s based on Walt Disney’s own actual wishing tree?? Wtf???

Also there’s a whole 2 pages about Dahlia explaining how much effort and care were put into her creation as a character with a disability. They actually had consultants making sure that ANY form of representation felt authentic and positive. They did not just made the cast multi-ethnic, they actually did their research so that any culture was well portrayed, all the way to the littlest details like textures on their clothing or even each character’s way of greeting.

And about the animation not being fully 2D… Haters conveniently forget mentioning that the movie is expressly made to celebrate both the past AND future of WDAS. Then like it or not, but you can’t possibly celebrate all of Disney without CGI animation. CGI is also Disney. Tangled and Frozen and Moana became instant Disney classics. I would die for a traditional animated movie, but when you put it this way, it makes perfect sense to me that they went with hybrid style for this movie specifically. It just feels right.

Also going through these pages… you just feel the love the producers and animators put in every single reference to older classics. Animation techniques were literally inspired by actual frames from Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Peter Pan. So were coloring techniques, lighting, cinematography… There was a breathing effort of paying homages to these movies with tremendous talent in them, while also creating something new. So hate on this movie as much as you want, but mind you calling it “AI-made”. It’s not. It’s made by humans.

Oh, and finally, Starboy. Well, yeah, I fell for it. People literally made it all up. There’s zero indication that he was gonna be Asha’s love interest, let alone be the one singing At All Costs instead of Magnifico. From what the book says (there’s literally two short paragraphs about him, before Star comes in) I think they didn’t even have a plot then, they were just exploring ideas and made some brainstorming sketches deciding how Star could have been. Same with evil Amaya! That one pic that leaked of her with Magnifico is all we got. There’s no indication that it was gonna be “a better movie” because there is no plot for that lol

Then and now: Ieeha

I don't know how this meme is supposed to go but I was tagged by @lynxden so I'll just briefly go through Ieeha from start to finish <3

Starting with 2014:

I bought this game as a birthday present for myself, I had NO idea what it was about and had never played any MMO before, but I was well into FF as a franchise and my friend who was too told me "Imagine FF... but with your own character...", and that was all I needed to jump in LOL.

It's funny looking back because the character I originally made had a different name, and I made him because I wanted a basic and bland, short gridanian lancer. The most unremarkable dude you could possibly imagine...

And then I unlocked dragoon. Which is decidedly NOT unremarkable and bland. Which led me to explore other jobs in just a few months, leading me to leveling White Mage and then Scholar, which remain my go-to, most played jobs to this very day.

"But how did that become Ieeha later" you may ask... well, it was a gradual process of going from his original character aesthetic to one that begins to resemble the Ieeha I know now.

Frankly what held me back a lot in the design department was the gender lock on gear, which lead me to frequently fantasia him to various female race variants of himself´:

(I'm also including these because there was no Gpose. The sheer effort I put in constantly to time weather, time of day for lighting, cooldown for skills etc....... lets get you to bed grandpa etc)

2024:

I revamped him (lore, name, background etc) in 2021, and then with Dawntrail his old face didn't resemble him anymore and I had to change it. Some tweaking was done but I can confidently say that I'm happier with him than ever and I'm sorry but I'm going to keep gushing about it <333

I never really had OCs before him, so in a sense he's my ever first one, which gives him a special place in my heart. It's taken so long to get here in terms of allowing myself to love him as much as I truly do and not feel weighed down by other people's opinions, and it's really improved my relationship to my creative ideas as well.

I probably won't post again, but I'm really proud bcs it was just a sketch for fun at first I wanted to do Kiana's hairstyle from GGZ uses on my MC when she was still on her homeland, using the design Fantasia made for their MC(I LOVED SM), and ended looking identical to Kiana- I look forward to more lore and ways to connect and follow like Fantasia does bcs that's the way I like to involve my MC👺

Then vs Now

I got tagged by @robynostornwyn! Though honestly I've been seeing this trend across my dash for days and it's been a delight to see the journeys of all these characters.

October 2023:

Well, she got new hair and a swag coat.

I wish I could say that I've had Eidin since the start of my XIV journey, but what actually happened is that the casual alt I'd made to play on the server where my friends were more active gradually evolved into my main -- but I was playing a character who I didn't feel represented me, and whose lore got completely busted by MSQ (if you roll up a sunseeker miqo, there should be a big flashing warning that says "don't use a name that starts with M if you don't want to accidentally lock that character into being from one specific tribe in Ala Mhigo"). Still, it was hard to let go of my little guy and I didn't feel good wrapping up his journey until Endwalker gave me the kind of closure I needed for him.

Since I never got to experience the game with a character who felt firmly embedded in the setting, my promise to myself was that I would not hit that fantasia until I had a character concept that fit the game lore AND felt good to play. It still took me weeks, from initial concept through hours in the character creator, to finally make her real, so it's not surprising that I haven't felt the need to make too many changes since then.

The biggest change to her physically is, well, the great Dawntrail upgrade. It's amazing how the graphics update actually makes her feel more complete now. And after landing on That One Femroe Hairstyle I never thought I'd switch to anything else, but Meteor's hair elevated her dashing rogue vibe to a whole new level.

TBH though, finding the tumblr OC community and having a place to share her lore amidst so much support and feedback has taken her lore from character concept to an actual story. I am so grateful that my brainworms about this character have somewhere to go. I can't wait to see where her story develops next.

For any curious on my aus, here's some basic lore.

Between the Screen Au

Basic info: Rewrite of the Epic Mickey games with darker themes and slight cast changes. I.e. Fanny is temporary leader while Oz guards Mickey Junk Mt, loads of really old designs for most of the toons, etc.

Summary: Mickey sneaks into a closed off studio room within Yen Sid's lair. Intrigued by the mystical looking paint brush, he begins to paint himself only for it to distort and attack him. With a sponge and thinner, he tries to wipe away his creation. He leaves the room believing he erased the creature. He was wrong as little did he know that his action lead to the downfall of an entire world. Years past and Mickey raises to fame. One night he is swept away into a place toons of ages past dwell. Can he fix his mistakes and mend a relationship that could have been? Who knows.

Epic Mickey : Tale of 2 Brothers

Basic Info: Another au that rewrites Epic Mickey, but brings back the old concepts and story where Ozzy is an anti-hero and Mickey can go feral.

Summary: Oswald is the humble king of Wasteland that works hard to give everything he's got to forgotten toons. However, his obsession for admiration and justice lead him to take drastic measures. An alliance between the Mad Doctor and an inky beast called the Blot leads them to seek revenge on the toon responsible for their circumstances. Mickey is dragged into Wasteland and adventures the land in hopes of returning back home. Both brothers will have to make the right decisions for this story to end well.

Rising Star

Basic Info: Somewhat parody of Walt's rise to fame. Toons and humans co-exist. Various old toons appear like Felix, Gerdy, Flip, etc. Look is like Roger rabbit. Follows from like the 1920s to modern day.

Summary: Michael and Oswald love their little rural life, but yearned for bigger dreams. Oswald eventually builds enough income to head out to California to make it big. He gets noticed for his talent and charm by a director and becomes a star. A year passes and Michael later joins in his brother's footstep to be a star. Both learn that making it big isn't all glitz and glam.

Toons & Dungeons

Basic Info: D&D inspired universe. Mainly focuses on the Disney Brothers, but other toons will appear. Story is very rough as this is an old au that changed from an RPG based idea to D&D, which I have little knowledge off.

Summary: Orphans Mick and Ozzy were inseparable as they roamed the streets of Fantasia. A run in with the Blox lead the two to be separated. Oswald was cursed to never be remembered by his loved ones after escaping from the Blox. He takes refuge with people called Gremlins who raise him as one of their own. The only thing he wants is to lift this curse and re-unite with his brother. Mickey is a traveling bard on a quest to find something he's lost. The only clue he's got is someone important to him, a brother? A friend? If only he could remember what his name was or what he looked like.

Ink & Mirrors

Basic Info: An old Bendy and the Ink machine au that's been slightly revamped. Main cast is Epic Mickey, Bendy cast, Cuphead cast, and Felix cast alongside cameos of other toons or ocs. Most lore is based on the first game with little humans in it, basically really early days of Bendy theories. It has a parallel story, but it is mostly the same in how it would go.

Summary: Bendy has been trapped in this crummy studio for years and envies the toons that are more beloved them him. He already dealt with his damn creator, so why not have some good cartoon fun? Toons have been going missing and mysterious letters appear to some that ask them to visit an old studio. Some visit or stumble into it after encounter strange black ink. Little do these toons know that this place was never suppose to be found.

Toon High

Basic Info: An old High school au. Walt High, Universal High, and Warner High. Not much else to go on, it's just school. Various toons can appear, but again this focuses on Disney mainly. Story is never gonna be concrete and barely used. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Summary: Mickey and Oswald have had a rocky relationship ever Mickey came into the family. One was joyous to have an older brother while the other was indifferent. Oswald is transferred to Walt High after Universal High doesn't work out. Mickey is happy be going to high school with his big brother, but his brother would rather be anywhere else. Maybe the two can finally work out their differences.

Magic Island

Basic Info: Animal crossing

Summary: Elias finds out that a new island get-away is being opened by Tom Nook. Him and his brother Clover travel to the island for a change of view and potential new home. New friends and a hard-working leader are what welcomes the brothers to their new home.

Local Toons

Basic Info: Everyone's a kid. Minor angst as this is more like slice of life. Style is black and white.

Summary: The Disney brothers love their rural life and love to help around the town. Various shenanigans ensue and new friends come and go.

P.D. Toons (Public Domain Toons)

Basic Info: Public domain toons that I made my own. Their origins are still there but nothing like the originals. Every toon has a new name. I.e. Willy = Mickey, Oliver = Oswald, etc. These are just for fun so not much lore.

Summary: Slice of life like stories or illustrations. Nothing big.

"that doesn't exist" first of all, who fucking cares if a piece of media has never depicted a lesbian or a nonbinary person or a black person in xyz region/world? just because the creators didn't do it doesn't make it Canonical Law. also, regardless of how fantastical and fictional a setting is, its audience will ALWAYS be from planet earth where lesbians and nonbinary people and black people exist, and those people's feelings and their deservingness to see and put themselves in their favorite stories IS, in fact, more important than some white-ass cishet make believe world.

"it wouldn't be allowed" subtler issue, but an issue nonetheless. just because the setting is hostile TO certain groups of people does not mean those people do not exist there. ask yourself, what is so important to you about certain kinds of people either not existing period, or having to be miserable (closet themselves, conceal certain features, etc), in a given setting. why is that so important to you. why do you think these people can only exist if they hate themselves and/or live their lives suffocated by the world around them. why is it so "lore incompliant" or "immersion breaking" to you. why are you so concerned with upholding real or perceived prejudices in a fictional society if you claim to care about the real people who these prejudices affect. "realism"? see point one.

NONE of the reasons you make up to justify your reinforcement of real world bigotry in a pretend world are even reasons that would ACTUALLY bar xyz group of people from existing in said world. ishgard only shut its gates to the rest of the world for 15 years before ARR. old sharlayan accepted people from tural into its closed society. the ancients could literally conjure up whatever the fuck they wanted inside and outside their bodies. fantasias are a canonical item in the game, as per the quest that literally talks about them and then gives you one. there are HUNDREDS of perfectly lore compliant ways any given type of person could be in any given setting. but more importantly, people shouldn't need to justify why things like sexuality or skin color CAN exist in a given setting, because if you're not harboring some very bigoted ideas about how minorities are allowed to or "supposed" to exist, you don't fucking care about shit like this. it's stupid, inaccurate, and most of all, just plain cruel to the very real people behind these characters.

racism, transphobia, etc already exist in staggering abundance in the real world; you do not need to enforce that cruelty in a random fucking video game unless you have some very fucked up feelings about those groups of people festering in your brain. if you're not a member of those groups, shame on you, do better to support your fellow human beings. if you ARE a member of those groups, i am so fucking sorry the world has rotted your sense of self so deeply as to make you believe you can only exist in misery. i really, sincerely hope you're able to work through that and know that your existence is an inherently joyful, beautiful thing, and people like you deserve to get to exist peacefully, everywhere in the real world and in any and all fictional settings. i know finding worth in ourselves is too often an extremely difficult process, so i ask instead that you start with others like you. be kind to them, support them, find things about them that you admire, and try to see yourself in them. you deserve to get to heal from the insidious, evil things this world has poisoned your heart with.

✧˖°. THEN AND NOW EDITION FT. Sarrai, Azuma & Koret!

Sarrai is the only character I've done any edits with post DT update (don't look at me, I'm only just getting the bug back), but I wanted to show which OC's went through, in my opinion, the most dramatic changes!

The Sarrai on the right was a very early concept where I tried to mash her and Aryele together without much success (call it the WoW trauma, idk). She's had a lot of fantasias to get where she is and I'm ultimately happy with her look now.

Azuma was my first character to finish a MSQ! (The ARR MSQ, to be precise) I used to play her off and on when I was still mainlining WoW, but ultimately adopted her as my main her until halfway through Stormblood when I settled on Ashe and never looked back. I don't want to talk about how long it took me to settle on a name for 'lore compliance'.

Anyway, her look ended up changed because I had the idea to make a sunset themed au ra and I loved her so much I deleted that au ra and slapped a fantasia on her. I met @riftdancing not long after that, we became best friends, and I never looked back.

Kor... SDFKGJDFSHKJDGH. I can't look at her as a Midlander anymore; I'm literally like 'who tf are you girlie???' She looks WAY too dainty in comparison to her highlander self now, but I was still trying to work out the kinks of her story from where she was left in WoW, so it took me a bit to kind of settle on her having a highlander body in game but being multiracial (highlander/midlander) in lore.

Also a good reminder that gposing is a skill that gets honed with time because... look at 'em. SDFKJGHSDFJK

Qilla in...

Sol's route:

She's a total easy going foreign student and dont reall have feelings towards Crowe or anybody else in the friend group (yep, she friendzoned Crowe, dont hate me).

Infact, since Qilla is very easy going, i mean EASY GOING...she just love to be friends with everybody, and she dont really have any feeling or trying to find love in her relationship with other. She give up with romance relationship, because she grew with saying to herself that her family's love is enough. Maybe?

I've been thinking this scenario in my head every night as well haha, its about Qilla's bad habits which is playing with her phone in the dark. I've been thinking in this scenario, Sol was "visiting" her in the middle of the saturday night and wow, that is the nights Qilla never really sleep.

She was shock and scared at first before she turn on the lamp and almost fight him because she thought he was robbing her (how can she's not mad? She dont have anything and getting robbed in the middle of the night) . Sol will go all pathetic and apologizing to her and accidentally confess his feeling to her while trying to convince her that he's not a robber.

After he confessed what was he going to do, Qilla was dumbfounded and confuse while being flustrated and also angry .

"HOW CAN YOU BE OBSESSED TO ME!?!? DO YOU NEED A GLASSES AS WELL????"

(A little lore about her past, she never date anybody nor have a guy to ask her out, she's a total weirdo back then and also have a bit of trust issues since she never felt confident before highschool.)

Sol confessed, Qilla confused, and you know what happened?

Qilla ask him to date her without take any hints that He's a FREAKING PSYCHO!

Crowe's route:

Almost the same with Sol's route, but in Crowe's route, Qilla is very insecure to herself about relationship.

She have feeling towards him, but she felt both of them was not in the same level.

"he'a a good friend...charming, smart, kind, beautiful, and perfect. I dont think im he's type as well ahaha...im just a friend to him,thats all."

She never really realize that he also have Feelings towards her. She always thought that she's only his friend, thats all. She dont want to embaressed herself with being over confident that the campus prince charming have feeling to her as well. Thats probably just her daydream thoughts.
