Let's keep the CinPhen train going! I'll only answer for Fritz, Anon, since I do have a few other questions in my inbox that I want to get to and answering for four characters at once might take too long.

Favorite thing about them: Sword sexy... Sorry. I'm weak for a man who can and will fight and get bloody. It's a shallow reason but kdhausrht!

Least favorite thing about them: What happened to him in Klaude's route. If you know, you know...

Favorite line: This line comes from Fritz's Evermore route

What do you say to just one dance, princess? Come on, I don't bite.

OOOOHHH! The whole scene that this line is a part of is good but just this line on it's own is plenty of fun. The flirty use of "princess"! The graceful teasing! The little allusion to Fritz's dog/wolf theming with the mention of biting! KJDHIUEAHT! So short but so delicious~!

brOTP: Spoilers for those who haven't played the game and want to...

Fritz & Varg. I know they're the same person but they're also not? I'm not deep in this fandom but I know it's a talking point so for now they're being treated as separate entities. They even talk about each other as separate people at times so it works. Anyways, they're mostly antagonistic towards each other but it kinda settles down. Varg gives up control so Fritz can live, and Fritz eventually comes to terms with the part of himself that Varg is so be a more balanced (and more fun) man.

OTP: Fritz x Lucette. Yeah I'm so down for the game's heroine to get with Fritz. He and Waltz are the top choices for her. But I like Fritz in particular because he and Lucette get to see each other a their worst/weakest which I don't really get with Lucette x Waltz. The mutual acknowledgement of weakness/fault is something I kinda need to see in a ship and I feel that so strongly with Fritz x Lucette as Fritz is powerless to his curse and Lucette is under the stress of seeing her whole world essentially fall apart.

nOTP: None that I can think of honestly.

Random headcanon: He's got a big appetite. A combination of a high metabolism and an active lifestyle as a knight means he needs to eat a lot. And people don't really notice it until they spend more time with him and find "wait, he's going back for a fourth plate?"

Unpopular opinion: He should be allowed to kill his dad as a treat. I actually don't know or care if it's an unpopular opinion in the fandom, I wanted to say it. He really should get to.

Song I associate with them: Hozier's Like Real People Do. A love song about troubled individuals finding love? It's all too perfect for Fritz, whose romance route is heavy and he's left with a lot of complex feelings coming out of it.

Favorite picture of them: Dicesuki cooked with this cg from Fritz's Evermore route! The lighting! The besotted expressions! The flower petals in the wind! Serving absolute romance!

Be me playing Cinderella phenomenon/Evermore: I really like this Waltz guy. He's a total cinnamon roll. I usually ship enemies to lovers but I really like his interactions with my protagonist. This will be a total change from what I usually ship. Cinderella Phenomenon: He's a witch Me: That's cool Cinderella Phenomenon: A child prodigy even who was targeted for his powers by the Big Bad. Me: Wait, what? Cinderella Phenomenon: The Big Bad took him in as an apprentice and acted as a surrogate parental figure in place of his parents in order to groom him into becoming the ultimate weapon to sick on her enemies Me: Seriously? Cinderella Phenomenon: He has killed a lot of people and was lost in the darkness until he met the offspring of the Big Bad, who is part witch too by the way. He totally teaches her the ways of the Force her powers later. Anyway, she becomes a beacon of light to him. When the Big Bad threatens to break her spirit, he turns away from evil and betrays his master. Me:

Opinion: This right here is my favorite fanfiction in this fandom. A sixty-eight chapter well-written character-driven world-building masterpiece of a fanfiction. My go-to recommendation for anyone who’s in the Cinderella Phenomenon fandom. It also has well-included side character’s stories built into the fabric of the story allowing the world to feel even more developed. It is a must read for anyone into Cinderella Phenomenon.

“I want you to teach me some songs.”

Lucette didn’t think it was a strange request. Ever since she’d become the Tenebrarum bearer, Waltz had taken it upon himself to introduce her to the world, to show her all the things she’d missed in her first eighteen years of life. Music was one of the things her mother had denied her. Singing was unnecessary, she’d said. Music was a frivolous distraction. Dancing might be an important skill for a princess, but anything beyond that was a waste of time, and her mother would not have it.

But now — well, now Lucette wanted to experience everything she’d missed. When Waltz took her on their walks through town, they’d often stopped to listen to the street performers playing instruments and singing for coins. Waltz was a performer himself, with his magic tricks and puppet shows, so who better to teach her about this?

It shouldn’t be a strange request, but the way he blanched at her words took her by surprise. “Songs, Lucette?”

“Yes. I want to learn to sing. To enjoy music. You will teach me, right?”

He shifted his weight. “You should ask Rod, don’t you think? Emelaigne says he’s a very gifted singer.”

Lucette didn’t understand. Did Waltz not want to spend time with her? He was always so eager to share everything with her, creating new experiences and watching with unreserved joy at her reactions. Why would he pawn her off on her stepbrother now?

“I am asking you,” she said simply.

He furrowed his brow. “It would be good for you to connect with other people. You spend so much time with me. I don’t want you to miss out on building other relationships.”

“My relationship with Rod is fine.”

“But this would be the perfect opportunity to make it even better. Don’t you agree?”

She didn’t. It was unnecessary. “What has Rod got to do with this? I want you to teach me.”

Waltz ran a hand through his hair. “I just remembered. I have some puppets I need to repair before the show tomorrow. I had better go do that now.”

What?

“I will see you at dinner, little star!”

And before she could blink, he was out the door.

Over the next few weeks, she tried asking again. And again, and again. Every time, he dodged the question. Every time, he made an excuse.

Was there some reason she should not learn to enjoy music? He had never avoided the street musicians, or the performers than sometimes came to the palace. And he did not seem to be shirking her company.

So then… why?

Lucette sighed as she left the throne room after yet another meeting about the kingdom’s work program for the poor. She was proud to say the system had improved since she’d started implementing changes, but after hours of discussion, she was completely exhausted. Now, at long last, she had the rest of the day free from appointments, and she intended to make the most of it.

The garden. That was where she would go. The sun was shining, the sky was clear, and the flowers were blooming. There was a little bench tucked away in one corner where no one ever thought to look for her. It was the perfect place to hide away from the world and rest her tired mind.

Thankfully, no one accosted her as she made her way through the palace, and soon she was standing beneath that blue sky, surrounded by bright blossoms and green leaves. She strolled leisurely along the stone path, enjoying the gentle breeze, when a sound stopped her in her tracks.

“Star light, star bright…”

Was that… singing?

“The first star I see tonight…”

Could that noise reasonably be called singing?

“I wish I may, I wish I might…”

Lucette turned the corner to find Waltz plucking a flower from its branch, his back to her.

“Have the wish I wish tonight.”

That noise was coming from him.

She stood there, frozen, as he began the song again. “Star light, star bright, the first star I see tonight…”

All of a sudden, the ridiculousness of it hit her. So that was why he refused to sing with her. He was as tone-deaf as a rock.

She started to laugh.

Waltz spun around so fast she thought he’d have whiplash. “What—? Lucette?”

The horror on his face only made her laugh louder. “Oh, Waltz. Were you ever going to tell me?”

His cheeks turned bright red. “So you heard all that.”

“I did.”

“… Can you pretend it never happened?”

“Absolutely not.”

He let out a sigh, his mortified expression fading to something like resignation.

“Waltz, why did you not say something?”

His eyes darted around, looking at everything but her. “Well… you know…”

At the embarrassment on his face, another giggle bubbled over.

“That.” He pursed his lips. “That’s why.”

Did he mean… “You did not want me to laugh?”

“Of course I didn’t. Lucette.” He sighed again, finally looking at her, and took her hands in his. “Every man wants to impress the woman he loves.”

It was no fair, bringing up the word “love” when she wasn’t expecting it. “I did not think you worried about things like that.”

His eyes softened. “Little star. I don’t think you realize how very precious you are to me.”

She was not prepared for that declaration. Her breath caught in her throat.

“I know it’s silly. I shouldn’t worry about such a thing. But your opinion of me matters more than anything else. I can’t help wanting to appear favorable to you.”

Now she could feel her own cheeks growing warm.

He lowered his head so he could look her in the eyes. “Do you think less of me?”

“What a ridiculous notion. Of course I do not.”

A smile of relief flitted across his face.

“What does musical talent matter? I have never learned to sing, and I barely know any music. Do you think less of me?”

“You know I don’t.”

“Then you should know, too.”

He laughed at that and swept her into his arms. “You’re right. It was silly of me.”

Lucette let herself relax into his embrace, resting her head against his chest to listen to the beating of his heart.

“Perhaps I should ask Rod for his assistance after all,” she mused.

“That… is probably wise.”

She smiled, knowing he couldn’t see it, but too happy to hold it back. Here in his warm arms, she felt safe. Content. Protected.

“Little star?”

“… Hmm?”

“When you learn to sing…”

His voice trailed off, and she lifted her head to look at him, frowning in confusion.

“When I learn to sing…?”

He gave a lopsided smile. “Will you sing for me?”

Was that all? Happiness flooded her heart to think he’d want such a thing from her. “As often as you like.”

He closed his eyes and kissed the top of her head. “I can’t wait.”

Contented, she nuzzled into his shoulder. “…Waltz?”

“Yes?”

“Will you sing for me again as well?”

“No. Absolutely not.”

“Waltz, we promised Delora we would be back by dusk, did we not?”

Lucette’s heart sank as she saw the copper sunset rays shine onto the town, the sun itself lingering just above the horizon. She unconsciously let out a sigh, realizing Mr. Broom awaited her arrival home. Shifting the bags she was carrying from one hand to the other, she felt their combined mass slowly take their toll on her. Waltz, of course, had insisted on carrying the bulk of their groceries for the Marchen. Despite this, she was very much looking forward to just heading back and relieving herself of the weight.

The dark haired boy spun around to face her, the items inside his bags clanging audibly against each other. His crimson eyes glittered with excitement. “It won’t take long, little star. We’ll be back in no time.”

Gazing at him, Lucette couldn’t help but nod and concealed a small smile. Ever since he had introduced her to candied apples, Waltz had stopped at nothing to fulfill his promise of assisting Lucette in reliving the childhood her mother had denied her many years ago.

She continued to follow him through the alleyways and streets, breathing in the smell of fresh produce and cooked food alike as families readied their homes for supper.

Waltz skidded to a stop at an impasse. “Right here.”

Lucette turned to look at the rustic building they were standing outside of. She peered into the shop through the misted display windows. “You wish to visit this dessert shop, Waltz?”

“Yes.”

Noticing her struggle with the bags, Waltz walked up to her, carefully relieving Lucette of all of her bags. He beamed at her. “I promise to get you something too.”

Oh well. Delora can wait.

The miniature bells dangling from the top of the door jingled lightly as the pair walked into the shop. Lucette instinctively took a deeper breath to inhale the scent of freshly baked goods, the welcoming scent luring her further into the store.

The croissants, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes…

She scanned the confectioneries, each pastry bringing back vivid memories of trying them for the first time – with Waltz, of course. He was on a mission to introduce her to the finest desserts in Angielle.

Sweet, Lucette reminisced.

The desserts? Or the memories?

“Do you mind carrying this for me, princess?” She was roused from her reverie by the rustling of paper bags and by the voice of the person whose company she has grown to enjoy.

Waltz was standing in front of her, delicately juggling the bags in one hand and an éclair, clamped delicately in a pair of bakery tongs, in the other. He jabbed at a brown paper bag with his elbow. Instinctively, Lucette picked one up as he dropped the éclair, perfectly glazed and shiny, into the bag.

“Hold onto this for me, please. I’m going to buy it later.” 

“Is this pastry for you or for me?” Lucette wondered aloud.

Her partner let out a soft chuckle, tilting his head and messing up strands of his long, ebony hair. “This is for me. I have something else for you.”

“Are you going to tell me what you are getting me, Waltz?” She questioned him curiously, following Waltz as he stalked off to find his next target.

Waltz paused at a display cabinet filled with crispy looking pastries and slid open the transparent door. Still holding the tongs, he brushed a few lone strands of hair from falling into his eyes. “You can guess,” he finally managed, almost teasingly, while he picked up a mille-feuille.

Was that his way of issuing a challenge?

It couldn’t be that hard.

She nodded at the mille-feuille, currently being clutched tightly by Waltz. “Is it that?”

“Guess again, little star.”

He released the pastry into the paper bag; it fell on top of the éclair with a gentle thud. He glided towards a cabinet brimming with an assortment of cakes, another small smile gracing his lips.

Lucette’s eyebrows knitted. “So it’s a cake, are you getting me one of those?”

“That’s not it either!” Waltz reached into the cabinet and retrieved what appeared to be a black forest cake, dotted carefully with cherries, dollops of whipped cream, and chocolate shavings.

This was frustrating. “Oh, Waltz, just tell me, please?”

He looked unimpressed.

“At least give me a hint,” she said firmly.

Waltz brought the cake to eye level as he scrutinized the surface thoughtfully, scarlet eyes darting from one cherry to the next. Lucette couldn’t help but notice that the fruit was the same color and texture as Waltz’s lips.

“Fine,” he said after a brief pause, lowering the cake into a basket, “it’s something sweet… and unexpected.”

Of course he would give her such a vague hint. He just wanted the satisfaction of winning, didn’t he? Was this his way of getting back at her for winning that one game of hide-and-seek with the children? Waltz was usually so enthusiastic when it came to sharing things with Lucette, whether it was a story about his puppet show, their childhood adventures, or simply whatever was on his mind.

This was rather peculiar.

“Your hints need work,” she said plainly.

He looked hurt. “Lucette, there’s no fun in me just giving you the answer.”

If this was the game he wanted to play, so be it. She pouted. “I will find out what it is either way, with or without your hint.”

The all-too-familiar smile had reappeared on Waltz’s face. Wordlessly, he hooked the basket into his arm, progressing to the next section of the shop.

The duo continued through the store in the same fashion, Lucette’s curiosity growing by the second. They reached the cashier. Waltz instructed Lucette to close her eyes while he paid for the desserts and “whatever he was buying her”.

“You wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise, little star.” With her eyes squeezed shut, Lucette flushed as she felt his whispers travel down her ear to her neck.

Lucette then heard Waltz and the shopkeeper mutter inaudibly to each other. It was then followed with the pressing of buttons, the whirring of the register, the clinking of copper coins.

“All right, you can open them now.”

She cracked one eye open, then the other. She saw the brunet smiling in front of her, clutching one large paper bag, his eyes sparkling brighter than the brilliant gold cross hanging from his left ear.

Waltz playfully tossed his coin pouch into the air like a small child. He caught it and pocketed it in one swift flourish. “Let’s head out, Lucette. I have your surprise.”

He gestured to the door, giving the shopkeeper a wave as he pushed it open. The bells attached to the dessert shop clinked faintly as they exited.

The pair stepped out onto the streets, the smell of newly made pastries fading, the evening wind blowing into their faces and sending a shiver down Lucette’s spine.

They stopped outside the closed door, Waltz turning once again to face her. “Okay, you have one more chance to guess what it is.” His face was tinted a rosy pink. Lucette wondered if it was from the cold gusts of wind.

Lucette furrowed her eyebrows and she racked her brain for potential answers, thinking of what it could possibly be.

And then, she thought of it. 

That must be it.

She scrunched up her nose, taking in the sight of Waltz’s beautiful red eyes, his appropriately matched earring, his perfectly tinted cheeks that matched the color of his soft lips.

Lucette grabbed Waltz’s hand, pulling him close to herself.

“Could it be,” she whispered quietly enough for only Waltz to hear, “this?”

She pressed her own lips on his.

Lucette felt her partner’s body freeze in shock and his face flame up hotly.

And, all too soon, Waltz pulled away from the kiss, a generous sprinkle of blush making its way on his cheeks.

“Did I guess it correctly?” Lucette asked cautiously.

The bags of groceries clutched in Waltz’s hand fell to the ground with a resounding thump. He shook his head no.

Lucette averted her gaze, her own face also dashed with pink. “What was it then?”

The boy reached into the paper bag and silently produced a box of rainbow macarons, white lilies made of icing on each of their surfaces.

The two looked at each other awkwardly. Lucette reached out to take the macarons as Waltz’s heated gaze pierced through her.

For a moment, the two friends were silent.

Taking a deep breath, she forced out the words. “Thank you, Waltz.”

“You’re welcome, Lucette.”

More silence.

“Hey, Waltz?”

“Yeah?”

“I am sorry.”

Waltz turned to Lucette, his velvety red eyes gleaming brighter than the lampposts that peppered the street ahead of them.

“Don’t be. I loved it.”

He leaned in again, bridging the gap between their lips.

Sweet.

I was also really inspired by BNHA and decided to create Lucette as Eri and Waltz as Deku in someway. Heavily inspired by that one scene in BNHA in season 4 episode 13.

I’ve been inspired to write for Cinderella Phenomenon lately. Anyone want to send me a prompt? *hopeful eyes*

I’ll give you a drabble, probably 800-1100 words or so. I prefer to write canon pairings (but I’ll consider others on a case by case basis), or platonic relationships are good too. 

I have to be upfront -- I might not be able to fill everything. Real life is a bitch, and sometimes I just can’t get the muse to work with me no matter how hard I try. But I promise I will do my best.
