hey so do you think the reason why lucifer couldn't come to heaven with charlie is because he knows lilith is there?

lilith being in heaven was foreshadowed from here. charlie mentions it and lucifer looks over to the portrait of lilith. he knows she's there- and looks so guilty in this shot because charlie isn't aware, and he won't tell her. lucifer knows where lilith has been for those seven years, knows that lilith (from what we can infer) left both him and charlie to ascend to it, knows that he can't face her again as he is. by gosh does this man have a lot going on

I really liked how Yumyan and Hugo’s deaths were made to be so significant and sad but didn’t completely break from the tone of the show. Both of their deaths were for a very specific purpose more than just to have someone die. Yumyan dying not only conveyed the stakes of the upcoming battle really well, but also gave Kipo and the others a real sense of urgency as well as a loss that they couldn’t come back from. It set the precedent of named characters dying for the battle so when they got killed, it really hurt the audience because we knew what could happen if Kipo’s optimistic plan failed so when it did, we were able to empathize with her rage. This was also helped along by the fact that Yumyans death didn’t get too much fanfare afterwards and the episode where the aftermath of his death was being felt was possibly the most bizarre episode in the series, showing that things will move forward and tragedies will come to pass.

Hugo’s death was important too, not just to make Kipo’s victory feel more earned, but because it was the summation of his character arc. Even though it wasn’t strictly necessary for anyone to die to take down Emilia, Hugo still chose to because he loved Kipo and wanted to do something good for his family. He didn’t want her, or anyone to get more hurt than they were, so he chose to sacrifice himself for everyone’s benefit. It also worked because when he charged Emilia, he was playing his piano in his flamingo car and laughing like he did when he was a Scarlemange, so then when he went out in a fiery explosion, it burned away the last of Scarlemange, and left him to live on as Hugo Oak and Hugo Oak only since that would be seared into everyones memory as the most significant thing he did in his life.

Okay but I love how they didn’t make his previous love interest a bitch. They could have easily created some cheap love-triangle drama with this, but chose to make her an actually nice and genuine person.

This is what dramas should do!

I can’t believe Varric is dead. I knew that knife went too deep. I am so angry. I love Solas and I will forgive him for anything, but it’s still a massive punch in the gut.

I never played anything prior to Inquisition but even just from knowing Varric through that, it’s still a really big shock to me
