Me, @ianlove_bk and @walterschreifels a while back. Had a lotta fun & made a lotta noise with these two over the decades (swipe for pics & album art). Been thinkin about em xtra since ppl are asking about I Is Another, which is a project I did with Ian a bit ago. It started with tunes he was working on for Rival Schools and them sent to me. I still have fun wonderin what Walter might’ve sung. I ended up doin some of my favorite singin & screamin on it, and Ian made it all sound so good like he does. The remix of Queen of Swords still blows my mind. It’s amazing, the place ideas go. If you wanna hear it, link’s in the ol’ bio. Got some beautiful gatefold double-7” + CD sets left, too. Watch out for some further surprises on the night! We only have two requests. Please buy a ticket sooner than later, if you are going to - that affords us the opportunity to throw extra unemployment tickets out into the ether. Unbelievably the stats show that 50% of tickets for these things are sold in the 24 hours leading up to a performance, which will be too late to put the optimal amount of free tickets up. Quicksand - Slip . I finally heard the new Quicksand single ("Illuminant") the other day and to my great relief and happiness, it doesn't suck. On the contrary, I really like it. I was worried they might churn out some passable, but ultimately forgettable songs on an album that will often avoid any mention in conversations about their music. The risk is still there I suppose, but for now, at least the new song doesn't suck! At all! Woohoo! . This brings me to Slip, their debut album, a collection of songs that don't suck at all either. In fact, these songs take the (gorilla) biscuit! Sorry for that awful pun, but check out "Lie and Wait" for a prime example of a non-sucky Quicksand song. . I listened to Slip a lot in high school, in the late 90s. I had it on CD then. Like 80% of all music I listened to back then, I discovered Quicksand through friends; the same friends introduced me to Fugazi, Handsome, Refused and At The Drive-In.
