Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊  To 1 Of Britain's Most Distinguished & Dedicated Actors Of The Golden Age Of Acting Of Our Times.
He is an English actor. Known for his distinctive Cockney accent, he has appeared in more than 160 films in a career spanning seven decades and is considered a British film icon. He has received various awards including two Academy Awards, a BAFTA, three Golden Globe Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. As of 2017, the films in which He has appeared have grossed over $7.8 billion worldwide. He is one of only five male actors to be nominated for an Academy Award for acting in five different decades. In 2000, he received a BAFTA Fellowship and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his contribution to cinema.
Born On March 14th, 1933 Maurice Joseph Micklewhite on 14 March 1933 at St Olave's Hospital in Rotherhithe, London, England. His English mother, Ellen Frances Marie (née Burchell; 1900–1989), was a cook and charwoman, while his father, also named Maurice Joseph Micklewhite (1899–1956), was a fish market porter of Romani, English and Irish heritage. He was brought up in his mother's Protestant faith.
He had an elder maternal half-brother named David William Burchell, and a younger full brother, Stanley Micklewhite. He grew up in Southwark, London, and during the Second World War was evacuated 100 miles (160 km) north to North Runcton near King's Lynn in Norfolk, where he made his acting debut at the village school and had a pet carthorse called Lottie. After the war, his father was demobilised, and the family were rehoused by the council in Marshall Gardens at the Elephant and Castle in a prefabricated house made in Canada, for much of London's housing stock had been destroyed during the Blitz in 1940–1941:
At the age of 10, He acted in a school play as the father of the ugly sisters in Cinderella. His fly was undone and he got a laugh, and he took on acting based on the laugh. In 1944, He passed his eleven-plus examination, winning a scholarship to Hackney Downs School (formerly The Grocers' Company's School). After a year there he moved to Wilson's Grammar School in Camberwell (now Wilson's School in Wallington, London), which he left at 16 after gaining a School Certificate in six subjects. He then worked briefly as a filing clerk and messenger for a film company in Victoria Street and film producer Jay Lewis in Wardour Street.
Often playing a Cockney, He made his breakthrough in the 1960s with starring roles in British films such as Zulu (1964), The Ipcress File (1965), The Italian Job, and Battle of Britain (both 1969).
During this time he established a distinctive visual style wearing thick horn-rimmed glasses combined with sharp suits and a laconic vocal delivery; he was recognized as a style icon of the 1960s. He solidified his stardom with roles in Get Carter (1971), The Last Valley (1971), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), The Eagle Has Landed (1976), and A Bridge Too Far (1977).
He received two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor for his roles as Elliot in Woody Allen's comedy Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), and as Dr. Wilbur Larch in Lasse Hallström's drama The Cider House Rules (1999). His other Oscar-nominated films include Alfie (1966), Sleuth (1972), Educating Rita (1983), and The Quiet American (2002). Other notable performances include in the films California Suite (1978), Dressed to Kill (1980), Mona Lisa (1986), Little Voice (1998), Quills (2000), Children of Men (2006), and Youth (2015).
He is also known for his performance as Ebenezer Scrooge in The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992), and for his comedic roles in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988), Miss Congeniality (2000), Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002), and Secondhand Lions (2003).
He portrayed Alfred Pennyworth in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005–2012). He appeared in Nolan's films The Prestige (2006), Inception (2010), Interstellar (2014) and Tenet (2020). He also appeared in the actions films Now You See Me (2013), and Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014).

Rothley Castle, Rothley, Northumberland
In the middle of the 18th century Wallington Hall, west of Morpeth in Northumberland, was the seat of Sir Walter Calverley Blackett. Like many men of his time, he remodelled his park and introduced fashionable landscape features. On Rothley Crags, a windswept outcrop of rock north of Wallington Hall, he erected a sham castle which served as a distant eye-catcher from the house. Continue reading…

‘’Duke was never there for us. I was legally married, but he was a junkie, and he needed to be anywhere he could get his fix. I kept thinking he was going to get better, but he didn’t. He would babysit for me, and one day I came back and Tracey was alone. He’d gone out to get his fix. I realized this guy had been going out all the time and leaving this baby alone! Finally, he just disappeared, and that was it. {...} It’s too bad, because Tracey called him and she finally got in touch with him just before he died, and they sort of had like a little relationship going. But yeah, it was sad that he didn’t get to know Tracey, because I think he would have been very proud of her.’’

Wandering the Wandle - Part 1
I was chatting with friends in May and mentioned that I was planning on walking the Wandle trail after seeing this article on MyLondon (I think Google pushed the article to me via their news service) - https://www.mylondon.news/lifestyle/beautiful-walk-named-one-londons-26781996 - I was surprised to find that other people wanted to walk it too! Before I knew it four of us were planning the expedition - although due to scheduling issues it turned out that on the day - it was just me and my good friend and fearsome Croydonite Andy that did the trail.
I made my way from my home to East Croydon station and stopped for a cheeky breakfast muffin and cup of coffee at the rather busy for 10:30am Wetherspoons pub on Croydon High Street.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Suitably fortified we made our way along the High Street - past the remnants of busy commerce now left with shuttered up shops and occasional bright spots of casinos, betting shops and newsagents - like a parade of gappy teeth of habitual drunkard. Andy regaled me we talk of his past when as a teenager he would visit the small outpost of the Forbidden planet (miraculously still there) or the roleplaying game shop to spend his pocket money. We continued further down the High Street and past the sight of the burning of the House of Reeves shop in the 2011 London Riots.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We walked along the tram line and observed that Croydon was forged by it's transport links - the brutal dual carriageway and tramlinks cutting through it. Andy told me that Judge Dredd co-creator Carlos Ezquerra spent some time in Croydon during the 1970 and that it is thought that this inspired Mega-City One. We past some grafitti and felt like we were going in the right direction.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here it was the start of the Wandle in Croydon's Wandle Park - this was culverted in Andy's youth only to be opened up and the once dull park transformed into a haven for wildlife.
Tumblr media
From here we crossed the Purley Way and found Waddon Ponds (https://goo.gl/maps/LqDa1mds5GKCmH989) - these are delightful although the map makes them look slightly phallic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We found some juvenile moor hens hanging out and we discussed the state of politics. The evidence of mills were present.
The route took us along the Wandle - which was quite shallow and stream like - but looked clean and healthly - suburban houses backing on to it. Meadows filled with wildflowers suggested that we might not be in London anymore and in fact be in some bucolic paradise.
We carried on towards the lovely Beddington Park (https://goo.gl/maps/VfWuSASS7vgu757X9) - which was next to the Andy's school - WallingTon County Grammar School - I was particularly taken with the alley known as Bunker's alley for obvious reasons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rather pretty - a old stone bridge that Andy would run over as part of his cross-country runs and there was talk of some kind of imitation rite - an assault course type run that involved fording the river. We had to wait for the volunteer army with their wheelbarrows on a narrow bridge. There were geese and a fun island that Andy informed me the big kids would throw smaller kid's rucksacks on to to torment them.

We met and friendly dog:

Okay - that's it for Part 1 - tune in later for Part 2...

Which are the 5 most common heating and plumbing supplies?
Let us check out the five common heating and plumbing supplies we use in our day-to-day lives. These are faucets, HVAC plumbing supplies, water heaters, boilers, and hydronic heating products.
Faucets are used to control the flow of water from a tap or other source. There are two main types of faucets: compression and ceramic disc. Compression faucets use a rubber washer to control the flow of water, while ceramic disc faucets use a ceramic disc that is moved by a lever.
Pumps are mechanical devices that use pressure to move fluids or gases from one location to another. The pump's function relies on two things: compressional action and displacement. The compressional action is what pushes the fluid from one point to another, while the displacement action allows the fluid to move along the length of the pump. Pumps are used for water supply, sewage/slurry disposal, and food and beverage manufacturing.
A water heater is a crucial appliance in every home. It provides a continuous supply of hot water to the household. The temperature of the hot water depends on the type of heating element used and the amount of electricity supplied to it. This heating supply can be used to provide hot water for bathing, dishwashing, clothes washing, and other uses.
A boiler is a closed vessel in which fluid is heated at high pressure. Boilers can be classified into three types: fire-tube boilers, water-tube boilers, and oil-fired boilers. The heated or vaporized fluid exits in the boiler for use in various processes or heating applications.
A hydronic heating system relies on water or other liquids to heat your home. It is also known as radiant heating and is made of either pipes or cables that are filled with fluid that transfers heat directly into the room. This type of heating system can be used in any room of the house and is an excellent choice for those who want a clean, green, efficient way to heat their home.

Tales From the Budget Pack: The Vampires Night Orgy Aye, fuck the wheel. Of all the undiscovered gems just sitting there... uh... undiscovered, waiting for me to... uhm... discover them, the wheel gives me the fucking shitty public domain box set.  If this was 1 year ago and pre-medicated me then I would assume this was God personally challenging me because the Old Testament God was a real fucking dickhead. But I'm a lot smarter now... OK just a lot more selective of which drugs I take and I now know there is no God. There also is no orgy. Wtf. It's bad enough that this shitty transfer was both letterboxed AND pillarboxed so I was essentially watching this in a tiny little window amongst the backdrop of a large black screen but at the very least I wouldn't have minded if they delivered on the promise of said orgy. Also is the adjective "night" really necessary? I feel like the time of day is already implied by them being vampires. They literally can't survive during the day, no one wants an orgy in a hostile environment. Another false promise. Like affordable housing, health care, or a living wage. Oh I'm sorry you want me to review The Vampires Night Orgy? Well I just remembered qualified immunity exists so too bad. Now I'm thinking about the time that Wallington cop made me take off my shirt when I was a kid to make sure I didn't have any weapons and I still think that's fucking weird.  This is what bad movies do. Just fucks your whole day up. Worse than having your bus break down near a village full of vampires who pick you off one by one, which is what happens in this movie. The only redeeming quality is that there's a big dude with an axe who chops off people's limbs, cooks 'em, and serves it to the guests. Other than that I guess the sub-90 min runtime. No one is looking out for you. There isn't some cosmic force gently guiding us through a life absent of hardships. Babies get cancer. I have to watch The Vampires Night Orgy. Being alive is nothing but chaos ping-ponging between tragedy and ice cream. Nothing makes sense but I just found an ASMR video that features Phoebe Bridgers so at least I got the next 40 minutes of my life figured out. https://www.instagram.com/p/CpdiQFIPq4v/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Piers Court - The Cotswolds - Gloucestershire - England
The present house was built by John Wallington at the very end of the 18th century. It incorporates elements of an older building.
Evelyn Waugh lived at Piers Court from 1937 to 1956, and wrote many of his best known works there, including Scoop, Brideshead Revisited, Men at Arms and Officers and Gentlemen. In 1955 Waugh was enraged when two journalists from the Daily Express, Nancy Spain and Noel Buxton arrived at Piers Court, having previously been declined an interview. An acrimonious and public correspondence saw Waugh successfully sue Spain for libel. But his enjoyment of the house was marred and he sold it the following year.
Waugh’s library at Piers Court was sold by a subsequent owner and the fixtures and fittings, including the prominent bookcases, were sent to the US with the intention of reconstructing the library in a museum.
In December 2022, the court was sold by auction, for £3.16m. The sales arrangements were unusual, as the presence of sitting tenants precluded potential purchasers from viewing the property.
