There was no way anyone should have survived the rain. And even if they did survive the initial downpour, the air or exposure to it should have killed them all off.

Curious, he followed the sound. There, by the fence seperating the houses from the bay, was a horse. Magestic and proud with a gleaming chesnut coat and black mane.

He carefully approached the horse, who allowed him to stroke its snout. He remembered what the horse merchant in Sai had said once. ‘Horses don’t take too kindly to bad folk.’

Smiling sadly, he continued to pet the horse. Tears welled up in his eyes. “Elma would have loved you...” He murmured, hugging the horse’s neck, suppressing a sob. “I’m so sorry... I don’t know what I did... But I’m so sorry...” He repented, sobbed ugly tears for those who would never again wipe them away, begged for forgiveness from each of his friends- his family, they’d become. He wished they could hear him and see him, hoped that they could. Maybe then they’d understand how truly sorry he was.
