i know part of why people don’t take adhd seriously is because of the stigma around it about us being all jokey jokey all the time & the infantilization that comes with that but. can i be real for a moment.

it is TRULY mind boggling to me that the worst most life-upending symptoms i experience only manifest themselves in a way that makes me feel like i’m living in an episode of seinfeld. that i’m playing sims on hard mode. that i’m that little character in deltarune being piloted around by a truly incomprehensible outside force of will i have no ability to reckon with.

like, ok. sure. my brain is only motivated to do things by power of “is it entertaining enough”.

it’s ridiculous. it does not matter how it is entertaining. as long as it’s interesting. so you cannot do ANYTHING that is boring. or you will simply die. (and often times that's not even enough either)

Actually, I was thinking about both Jonathan seeming to feel the Count's presence almost in the air itself today, and the lack of other footprints in the dust, and his feeling so unsafe in his rooms the other day... and it all combined into imagining something quite clever but also very sad.

What if Jonathan was having bad dreams and feeling like something was with him in his room while he slept at times? And so to test this theory he placed a little bit of string on top of the door handle or something, so that if it was on the floor in the morning it meant someone had opened the door. And every time he awoke, the string was undisturbed, so he assumed it must have just been terrible dreams.

But he still felt unsafe especially in his sleep. Still felt the need to hang the crucifix over his head, and to snatch at the chance to sleep somewhere the Count wouldn't know to look for him. And then this encounter happens, where he sees the vampire ladies seem to almost drift out the window/vanish into the air and leave the room without using a door at all.

He wakes in his own bed, and determines to look for proof. But a part of him wonders, if it really happened... if they really vanished like that... can the Count do so too? His bed is far safer than anywhere those ladies might be, but - he knows it isn't safe from Dracula in the first place, but now he's not so sure that those dreams weren't real to some extent as well. If the Count can get in without using the door, how would Jonathan ever know? How could he ever be sure?
