Very randomly I found a short story about Vulkan, talking about the time Curze destroyed Nostramo and how he and Horus wanted to deal with Curze after that.

I can post some excerpts if you are curious but let me tell ya, Vulkan is such a precious Boi <3

Hunter the Parenting Headcannon

I'm sure i'm wrong, but until the show says otherwise, i choose to believe Vulkan and Corax are on a roadtrip across the UK trying to hunt down and kill Konrad, who's been a pretty damn powerful vampire for a while now. reasons -those two being on a road trip makes me happy -there's no way you can put Curze in world of Darkness and he's NOT a vampire. -if two of their siblings that are good folk and fellow hunters do exist, it'd have to be something big or emotionally difficult to talk about that they haven't been mentioned until now. the fact no one wants to talk about their brother being a Blank and just quietly hoping Corax and Vulkan get him makes sense to me. -corax and Vulkan would absolutely be two of the most fitting brothers to want to hunt Curze (though i admit Lion and the Angel would have every right as well. but we already had the bro-trip duo esablished in the old TTS setting)

Went to my LGS to see if there were any folks playing to give me some tips on how to play. It gave me an excuse to take a pic of my army at the moment. I saw some minis I need to do some maintenance to so there is that. I’m working my way up to 2000 points. With Christmas around the corner I’m hoping for some more miniatures. I wouldn’t mind adding more eradicatiors, intercessors, and infiltrators. As far as new guys I figured I could do with some assault centurions and terminators and the means to transport them like a rhino or a gladiator. And since I’m adding more vehicles maybe a techmarine.

I wish GW will either release Captain Vulkan Hes’tan in plastic or eventually reveal the fate of the Primarch Vulkan and add him back to the chapter since they killed off several of the firstborn and replaced them with nothing. Since Roboute Guilliman and the Lion are returning I can only assume a series of books are coming where they team up and go on a mission from the God-Emperor and get the band back together. Khan, Corax and I think Russ are in the Warp as far as I know. As far as I want him alive due to his appearance in TTS, Rogal Dorn’s probably dead. I think the Iron Hands primarch was killed and the Adeptus Mechanis are doing something with his skull? Clonegrim is an exhibit in Trayzn’s collection (And I’m hoping the Emperor’s Children teaser may have something to do with but I’m not holding my breath). And Vulkan is either dead, lost, or not coming back until the Salamanders find all the relics he left behind or solve a book of riddles I think?

My grip on 40K lore is tedious so I might be wrong.

Vulkan He'stan

Two versions of him - or rather his ritual branding scars - for Marine Meat Monday.

The Forgefather leads a lonely life that constantly takes him far away from Nocturne into the depths of the galaxy, where he searches alone on his own for the artefacts that the Salamanders believe hold a key to discovering what happened to their missing Primarch.

Contrary to what was said in TTS, it is not the case that Vulkan will simply appear like Father Christmas once the artefacts are collected. The Salamanders are an incredibly independent, stubborn chapter and firmly believe that nothing is given for free. Especially not their beloved Gene-Sire. Instead, the Tome of Fire and the artefacts offer the opportunity to get clues as to what happened to Vulkan.

And unlike their predecessors during the Horus Heresy, the 40k Salamanders are not at all convinced that he is still alive! The famous war cry "Vulkan Lives!" was definitely a 30k thing. More specifically, coined by Pyre Guard Captain Artellus Numeon, a Terran Salamander who, after Isstvan V, didn't believe Vulkan had been killed and who, after the events surrounding Curze's brief reign of terror in Magna Macragge City, dragged Vulkan's "dead" body across the galaxy. And managed the seemingly impossible.

In 40k, "Vulkan Lives" is no longer the flaming sign of unshakable faith. This is no longer the time of the miracles of the Grand Crusade, after all!

Do they hope he's still alive? Sure! But they are also realists. And that's why they do what's possible with what they have.

And when inexplicable things happen now and then, like a Chaplain's destroyed Crozius still working, or a dead Psyker suddenly becoming a Living Flame and simply disintegrating a Chaos Fleet … well, obviously there is still a lot to find out then!

And Vulkan He'stan is just the man to find out!

When he then emerges from the most inhospitable corners of the galaxy every now and then, he is on the one hand very happy to see Prometheus and Nocturne again, but is constantly only too aware of how far away his task removes him from his brothers. Then he allows himself a little melancholy. Shares with the Chapter Master a little loneliness that they both feel. And then he sets off again to fulfil his task.

Because that's what Salamanders do!

It was at He’stan’s request that they’d come to one of the viewing galleries in Prometheus space port. The long chamber was dark, illuminated by brazier coals. The flickering light revealed the icon of the Firedrakes as they pulled the shadows away, only for it to be swallowed as the darkness reasserted itself again a few moments later. ‘Aye, we are humbled by her savage beauty, Lord He’stan.’ Tu’Shan clapped a firm hand upon the Forgefather’s shoulder.

For He’stan it was an odd sensation. He had been apart from his brothers for a long time. His quest for the lost artefacts of Vulkan had taken him to the edges of known space, to sights he would not describe and deeds he would never speak of. To them, his Fire-born kin, he was an enigma, a distant figure whose ways were inscrutable. It was no small thing to return.

Oh man, the original version of this post was going to be a play-by-play of everything that happens xDDDD But, uh, basically, it started back when TTS wasn't going to be cancelled, and it started with the question, "well, if one of the Custodes owns Magnus's soul and they're a couple now, and there are three [at the time] more Custodes characters and three more daemon primarchs who belong to one specific god...what if all three of them ended up with a Custodes who had won his soul—and his hearts?"

The premise has changed a little now, now only Mortarion is one in a game, but the premise is still basically "everyone gets a boyfriend (except for a few people who get girlfriends), everyone starts to heal from their traumas and get along, and eventually their family is reunited and the Emperor is able to safely get off the throne.

Mortarion ends up with Wamuudes, Fulgrim with Karstodes, Angron with Custodisi, Ferrus with Hammurabi, I think Roboute ends up with Yvraine, Jaghatai has an OC Eldar boyfriend, Corvus ends up with the two soldiers he met on that one planet I'm too lazy to look up the name of, and I think that's it??? Sanguinius was accidentslly brought back to life a long time ago, Horus gets pulled out of the Unmaterium, Konrad turns out to have been a Perpetual all along...

There are feasts, baths, calling each other out, gardens, arguments about etymology, a pun I still maintain is an absolute banger, and Vulkan hugs everyone at some point. There's also sex scenes and a seduction I need to slightly rewrite to conform to a new headcanon I picked up.

So yeah! I haven't written very much of it, because damn, it's a lot, but it was where I started writing fanfiction instead of daydreaming it.

Basically the story behind the engine is that when Vulkan forged it, he put all his negative emotions, as well as his angst into it. And tts had it be a small green car. I think a beetle or punch buggy. Not sure.

@robot-roadtrip-rants fair enough! Just a slight nitpick TTS became a little more than just a comedy series before James Worshop killed it (did you watch Hunter the Parenting? If not please do you WILL NOT dissappoint!) But I am going to be honest I'll take TTS Emps , Magnus , Cato Scarius and Calgar anyday 🤣🤣 ...Vulkan too. That Jameican accent just...fits you know

Have you watched Behemoth? If not again highly recommend it. Inquisitor cryptman and his band of SM misfits are HILARIOUS

They're both rlly cool games but I desperately need to catch up on the honkai impact lore (I downloaded the game on my pc in like 2019 or maybe 2018 and then stopped playing after a year)
