Hello all! Since there was some interest - I am going to try and put together a little World of Darkness Secret Santa for November - December! I think I will create a place to submit applications, keep it open a week, and then close it to prevent confusion and keep things orderly. The work allotted time would be for a few weeks/month after!

I will happily make a legitimate post closer to the date I'm thinking of, but I think rules are - you provide your World of Darkness OC you'd like artwork done for, and submit the appropriate reference materials for them with your application. I think submitting multiple OCs in one application would probably be fine for the receiver to have multiple ideas to pick from - but I wouldn't pressure anybody to draw group portraits unless they so chose to. You would be getting someone else's OC to draw! I think write ups would be amazing but I do know that writing would probably take a lot more planning work - so if you feel like writing that's awesome but I understand that's a little tougher to manage for Secret Santas! You'd probably really have to know the other person's OC.

If anyone wants to help out with some collecting and application management that would be really cool, feel free to message me! I'm afraid I'm not well-versed in collecting multiple applications so if anyone knows of an efficient way to keep track of doing that, I'm all ears!

No rush for anyone to get to work or to apply or anything! It's over a month away for my application date so please continue enjoying your Octobers! I just wanted to give a heads up!

Anselm and Danya started as lovers first, before his madness drove them apart. She and her coterie had to kill him for the horrible things he had done... until he came back as a wraith to haunt Danya, revealing that Anselm was framed, and he was never the mastermind behind all that she had to endure, like the death of her sire and the circus burning down. She had killed an innocent man, and now he is back to torture Danya for her mistake... or maybe their love can even bend time and right the wrongs?

World of Darkness (more specifically Wraith) people of Tumblr dot com, I come seeking your wisdom to a question most specific.

Say we have a Judy. Judy is a perfectly normal person, living her perfectly normal life.

Now say we have a Jane. For one reason or another, Judy was a very important person in her life. Jane dies tragically, but because of strong lingering attachment, she becomes a Wraith, and Judy is one of her Fetters. All normal Wraith stuff so far.

Here's the curevball - for some reason, Judy attracts the attention of a Vampire and is Embraced. So... how does that impact Jane the Wraith? Does it send her straight into a Harrowing, since one of her Fetters died, or is she okay, because Jane is technically still around and kicking?

Please share your wisdom.

One of my greatest quests as a storyteller is to better represent other mithologys in wod without going too far from the original concepts. And I always strugle on two points

1) How and What can be used as inspiration in respectful way

2) what I wanna represent or include, I strugle a lot on choosing one concept to represent multiple cultures because if you are not carefull it can be a poor choice or offensive, but hell you can't fit all in to one setting.

My take today to take multiple inspirations from cultures that have crossovers and try to with a original concept that evokes all this diversity. I avoid taking to much from one source because I wanna make clear this is monster fiction and not a representation of reality in anyway.

WoD Hallozine - a mini-Zine!

Introducing WoD HalloZine, a mini-Zine project for the Month of October!

WoD HalloZine is a short, one month project celebrating community and fanworks based on the World of Darkness. This zine will be free and distributed digital-only on socials. The theme of the zine is Haunting. Whether it be wraiths roaming the halls of an abandoned mansion, demons bound to their hosts, vampires lamenting on the nature of their immortal existence, or Garou communing with spirits in the Umbra, tell us your tales of dread, longing, and sorrow featuring your original characters. What sordid secrets are hiding in the dark? What Haunts You? How to Participate This is a time-sensitive event that's accepting submissions from September 24 - October 31, 2024. You can submit any art or written work based on original characters in any of the World of Darkness properties. You are welcome to submit existing work that hasn't been featured in a zine or create a new piece based on the theme. To sign up and be eligible to participate, please submit a form here: https://forms.gle/nnrShH3LDhbBtvip9 You will be contacted at least two times during the event: first to confirm your participation, second to check in and collect your final submission. You can always message more for questions and inquiries. Submit your piece through email or via DM on Discord. Fangfest 2024 - Day Seventeen - The Tower

Raymond Mulder, former detective turned hunter after more than enough rough run-ins with the Supernatural. Got a Kinfolk girlfriend and soon her abusive Garou ex attacked and permanently scarred him, his former boss forced to commit suicide in front of him after it was revealed that the vampire shadow government was running the Chicago PD. Formally the most normal normie you could meet, he tried to at least face the dark as nobly and as rationally as he could. Monsters were monsters - hell, a lot of "regular" humans fit this category too - but not every single one needed to be met with a violent hand.

The Tower is a card that represents an almost violent upheaval, a change in situation, destruction, catastrophe. Raymond's existence was forever changed the second he had made the decision to rid the world of just two more Kindred...

Camila: Lasombra antitribu from atlanta. Left the sabbat after literally so much shit happened and she got offered a place with the camarilla in london. Master of insane dice rolls and a broken character sheet.

Frankie: Kiasyd, technically independant, from deen haag. Currently on the run from their sire and hiding away with their corterie. Used to be a journalist and a changeling. Has like 1 strenght dice, once tortured a man.

Charlie: Toreador anarch (and also my first character) american who lived in glasgow for a while. Decided to become an anarch after being menaced by a cammy brujah elder long enough to flee the country and switch sects. Wants to be a magician so fucking bad.

Ethan: Wraith who got is face crushed by a collapsed shelf in a warehouse. No alignment yet. Has a sock puppet called doctor Richard and first character to get laid.

Salomina: Sabbat Nossie from atlanta, pyromaniac and pyrophiliac. Helped Camilas old pack get out of atlanta. Has a malkavian gf and befriended a rat. Clan over sect (has a cammy sire and ‘sibling’)

Mara: Cammy dominate malk. Is a nurse in a kindred psychiatric hospital and looks a bit like a manequin. Fought a werewolf with the girlies once and really wants her own domain.

Henry: Imbued Martyr from Mariposa. Died after falling into a cave full of nosferatu because i thought it was funny. Was just a little guy

Miranda: Imbued Avenger from Mariposa. Henrys ex wife. Decapitated a vampire once and causes her team mates horrible heart ache and personal traumas. Still tries her best.

Erik: He/Him lesbian who is wanted by the goverment for treason because he tried to expose illegal weapon trades. It didn’t work out. Thinks the solution to meeting the paranormal is to simply say No. Met a demon once and didn’t like it.
