Venomous teachings au question:What will Wu do when it will be revealed that Lloyd is the green ninja(if he is.It would be funny and ironic if it was Nya for example)? You mentioned attempted kidnapping in one of the earlier posts. Also, when will it happen?
I haven't hammered out exactly when Lloyd is revealed as the true Green Ninja, other than it being after the Great Devourer is released and defeated (and event that starts Wu on a bit of a downward spiral), so what Wu does, and when he himself finds out aren't fully set in stone, but I have a few ideas I'm thinking of.
In VT, Garm still defeats the GD, but it's by finding his True Potential. He spent pretty much his whole life blaming himself for Wu getting bit, and everything that Wu's done bc of the Venom, and he's able to let go of his guilt and kill the Devourer.
And just like in cannon, it's known that Garmadon is the one who killed the Great Devourer. Which throws a massive wrench in Wu's plan; he had a hand in the GD getting released, and he had planned to use that to get Garm and Nya to give up the Sword of Flame. He wanted to use the chaos to draw them out and then play the whole 'the power of all four Golden Weapons is the only thing that will stop the Devourer, and I'm the only one who can use all four Weapons at once' card that cannon!Garm used. He also wanted to use that as a bit of an ego boost.
Nya and Garm both get captured after the Devourer is dead, and Wu is able to get the Sword of Flames by using Nya's life as leverage. Misako and Mystake are able to bust the two out during a very public kangaroo court """trial""".
And this is where things get messy. The ideas I'm working with are:
1) Lloyd is revealed as the GN via an accidental run-in with the Ninja. Mb they've tracked Garm, Nya, Misako, Mystake, and Lloyd to wherever they're hiding and Lloyd gets close enough to the Weapons to set them off? Something like that.
2) Lloyd is revealed as the GN in a run-in with Wu after he has the Mega Weapon, which reacts to Lloyd the same way the GW's would.
3) Lloyd is revealed as the GN minuets after Wu is defeated. Garm nearly kills himself using the Mega Weapon to defeat Wu, and Lloyd runs over to him, getting close enough to the Mega Weapon to set it off.
If I go with 1, then Wu doubles his efforts to capture Lloyd. The Ninja would be put under his spell by this point, so they wouldn't question what the whole light show was about. His main goal would be to turn Lloyd to his side through manipulation or magic, whichever works. Lloyd, as both Garmadons child and the actual GN would make a powerful asset. And if he couldn't be turned, well, he's still a very valuable hostage.
2 would be pretty similar to 1, but Wu would have gotten a bit more unhinged at that point. Like, he's gone a bit mad with power and stolen the throne and pretty much everyone has figured out 'this guy isn't actually the good guy'. In this scenario Wu would still be trying to capture Lloyd, but his goal would be to use the Mega Weapon to transfer his power into Kai, and then keep him alive just long enough to kill him in front of at least one of his parents.
And in 3, the only person who would actually notice the Mega Weapon glowing green at Lloyd would be Misako. Garm and Wu are both unconscious, Lloyd and Nya are freaking out bc Garm gets kinda messed up from using the Mega Weapon, Pixal is focused on making sure Nya isn't killed by a nasty injury of her own, and the Ninja all just got freed from Wu's spell and are dealing with the emotional and physical fallout from that. Misako is the only one holding it together enough to see the light show. Her response is to get to Lloyd and Garm, kick the MW away from both of them, and then take charge of the situation. I have no idea when (or if) she tells anyone the truth. (Also Kai might also notice. Haven't fully decided on that one yet.)

Trump’s impeachment trial hinges on McConnell and Schumer
New Post has been published on https://thebiafrastar.com/trumps-impeachment-trial-hinges-on-mcconnell-and-schumer/
Trump’s impeachment trial hinges on McConnell and Schumer
Before the Senate can deliver a verdict on whether to oust Trump from office, the “world’s greatest deliberative body” must first set ground rules on the president’s impeachment trial. At issue is what kind of amendments or witnesses to consider, as well as how long the proceedings will go on and what kind of evidence can be introduced, all of which will shape the trial and its fallout.
It’s a process fraught with uncertainty and political peril, particularly with an impeachment trial to come right in the heat of a Democratic presidential primary in which six senators are running to defeat Trump.
Whether the Senate can show some semblance of unity before plunging into what’s sure to be a deeply acrimonious trial will depend on McConnell and Schumer and their ability to keep their caucuses in line.
“There’s no reason we can’t come up with an agreement. .… I’m open to trying to be fair and down the middle and letting the facts come out and be nonpartisan,” Schumer said in an interview on Wednesday. “There’s no reason we can’t come up with good, fair and honest rules.”
“I would think there would be collective interest in trying to get this done in a reasonable time,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), a close adviser to McConnell. “I don’t think Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren will object to trying to have a limited time frame to hear the case and to make a decision.”
Some senators are hoping the body can replay the comity it displayed during the opening phases of then-President Bill Clinton’s 1999 impeachment trial.
Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) has quietly met with McConnell and Schumer to ask for a senators-only meeting — similar to the famous session that occurred in the Old Senate Chamber on Jan. 8, 1999 — to hash out a deal on how to proceed with a Trump trial, if it comes to that. The 1999 impeachment rules package, crafted by then-Sens. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Phil Gramm (R-Texas), passed on a 100-0 vote, which was hailed by senators as a momentous achievement, yet seems nearly impossible to imagine occurring in today’s Senate.
“I talked to the appropriate people,” Leahy said, reprising the role he played more than 20 years ago in trying to bring his colleagues together. “The worst thing that could happen to this body — which is important to this country — is we engage in political gamesmanship.”
McConnell (R-Ky.) declined to comment for this story but said this week that he and Schumer (D-N.Y.) have not discussed the matter.
Yet McConnell added that — given the evidence today — he doesn’t “think there’s any question” the Senate will acquit Trump, a powerful message to the Republican rank-and-file senators he’s led for the past 12 years.
Senators and aides in both parties said the lack of interaction between McConnell and Schumer on this topic is no reason for alarm given that the House has not yet compiled its articles of impeachment. Yet the sense of urgency could be growing, with the House inquiry moving to public hearings next week.
The White House, for its part, has already started quietly plotting out its strategy for a Senate impeachment trial. White House counsel Pat Cipollone has begun reaching out to Senate Republicans to discuss the rules and procedures for the proceedings, according to GOP senators and aides, a sign of how seriously Trump’s legal team views what’s unfolding on Capitol Hill.
Trump reaching out to Senate Republicans as well. The president has been calling more senators directly, in addition to hosting more lunches and dinners at the White House.
But can the Senate match the bipartisanship that then-Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.) and Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) demonstrated as the Clinton trial got underway — the famous 100-0 vote?
“Do I think that will happen this time? I hope so, but I doubt it,” Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) said. “You’re going to see Republicans line up on one side and Democrats on the other. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think we’ll even be able to get agreement on the rules.”
“You’d like to think it could [be unanimous]. And it definitely should. But we’ve never been in times like this,” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said.
Despite the glossy sheen now applied to the unanimous 1999 vote, the debate over how to conduct the trial was bitter. Senators passed the motion to subpoena witnesses on a nearly party-line vote, for example, and Democrats tried to amend a resolution to subpoena key witnesses, including Monica Lewinsky. And this all took place in a Senate that still operated with a modicum of regular order. The Senate today doesn’t even compare to that era in terms of being able to get things done.
“People have a rosy view of what happened in the past. It’s never quite as good as what you think,” Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) said. “I think it would be harder today, but if McConnell and Schumer sat down and agreed on something, I think most senators would agree with that.”
Though Senate leaders have not yet settled on how to craft the rules package governing the trial, under a majority vote threshold the rules proposal can be subject to amendments on the Senate floor. So a senator like Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who has been calling for Hunter Biden to appear in the Senate, could conceivably offer amendments subpoenaing witnesses. The House impeachment inquiry centers on Trump pressuring Ukraine’s president to investigate political rival Joe Biden and his son Hunter in exchange for foreign aid.
And in theory, the 53-member Republican majority could steamroll Democrats in a party-line vote, though senators said that would be a worst-case scenario.
“It doesn’t do much good to have a process, even if it’s fair, that doesn’t look fair. So I’d be careful to impose rules heavy-handedly on the minority,” said Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), a Trump ally.
Among the issues that will have to be hashed out: How many questions a senator can submit and the option to dismiss the trial. Aides familiar with internal discussions said the mechanism to dismiss the trial will be a key point of debate, particularly because Republicans could have enough votes to dismiss the trial fairly early in the process.
For now, much of the activity on the trial has been siloed between the two caucuses.
McConnell and his leadership team have given presentations on impeachment procedure, and Republicans have been informed that Chief Justice John Roberts will assume a role similar to a trial judge, ruling on motions or referring them for votes at a simple majority.
Schumer has spoken with all of his senators running for president about the looming trial as well as Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), according to an aide. He’s also created a document hub of information for Senate Democrats to access and has urged Democrats to talk about pursuing legislation on ending gun violence, health care and election security while urging a thorough House investigation.
But after they navigate the coming government funding deadline on Nov. 21, Schumer, McConnell and their respective caucuses will have to come together. Despite all the barbs from Schumer that McConnell runs a “legislative graveyard” and anger from McConnell over Schumer’s filibuster of defense funding in October, there’s some hope the two leaders can avoid damaging the chamber’s reputation yet again.
“Twenty years ago, there was a feeling of historic gravity here and we needed to rise to the occasion,” Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said. “I’m hopeful if the House presents us with impeachment that we see a different environment in the Senate than we’ve seen for the past year.”

“Dope A-F”-1/14 + 1/15- “Three Sets and A Late Night Heckler Strikes”
Got a couple days of shows to catch up on so let’s just jump right into it cutie peas!!!
1/14
Monday was The Southern. I got there a little early and met up with Paige to get everything set up. Usually Chris can’t get to shows early so I just go ahead and set up the PA most Mondays so we can streamline the process of getting the mic started.
We actually get a pretty solid turnout for the open mic all things considered. It snowed and that usually keeps people away, but we had a solid crowd of about 10  audience members and then about 12 comics.
Chris went up first and did a couple new, but he mostly stuck with doing crowd work to try to warm the crowd up. He got some good laughs and then started the show. No one could really seem to crack the crowd. There were some pretty bad bombs on this bad boy. Like some nuclear explosions kind of sets.
We had a couple newer comics try it out which was pretty cool to see. We’ve been having more and more new comics lately. The only problem is I haven’t really seen them continue to come out, and keep working at it. It is tough to keep comics interested in a scene when there isn’t a ton of stage time/they aren’t willing to drive to get the stage time. We’ve got a nice scene, but I’m always for more new comics.
JR talked about his trip to Vegas, Keaton was working on trying to get a five minute set together, Sam Padgett tried out some new one liners, McCallie tried to get his  and a bunch of my other friends were there (Alex Castagne, Colby Knight, Jake Snyder, Anne Meng, John Marg, and a couple others)
I go up and actually have an ok set. I feel good about it. The audience hadn’t been vibing all night, but they were attentive and responsive. I did ten minutes that was a mixture of brand new/reworked material. I felt really good doing it. I got laughs on almost all of it, and even got a couple big pops. The best part is I was able to find a way to put together a group of teaching material that I hadn’t gotten to work out yet. I’d give this set a C. But it was a solid and fun C.
Paige had a pretty good set, but he got into a discussion with an audience member about his material about Paige’s trans sister. He got some good pops shitting on the dude who didn’t laugh at the material, and the dude’s logic didn’t make much sense. All in all a super interesting and hopefully productive set for Paige. Alex went last and did pretty well too. Not a bad way to end the night.
After the show a group of us headed to Applebees to shoot the shit, and talk comedy. Alex, Paige, Chris, JR, Jake, and I. It was a super fun hang. Nothing like all you can eat riblets and shrimp to really top off an already dope night.
1/15
On Tuesday I had made plans to meet up with my parents and watch the VT vs UVA basketball game at a sports bar. My dad and I both went to VT and this was supposed to be a crazy exciting game. It’s the first time both teams have played each other and been top 10 in the AP poll. I had no idea if I was going to be able to do both shows (Mojos, Fallout)
I messaged both hosts (Patrick Buhse, Jesse Jarvis) and asked to be put on late before I headed to dinner. I get there and have super dope dinner with my parents even though VT got absolutely destroyed by UVA.
I dipped out from dinner and headed downtown to Fallout first. I got there right when the show was starting and Jarvis was going up. There was some people left over from the bimonthly polyamory meeting they were having at the bar, and a group that were there to support a first time comedian.. So there was a small crowd, but they were into the show.
Mu Cuzzo went first and had a super hot set. People were into it, and all of his stuff was hitting. This was definitely going to be a fun mic. Next was Benjamin Oliver and he was working out some material, and then the new comic went up. His friends were supportive, but it was obvious it was his first time. It was cool to see, and he definitely had a couple good ideas, but was super rough around the edges.
I went up next. I started weird which was dumb and on me. I was being super stupid, and regret it. Dug myself a nice little hole to try to dig myself out of. I went on to work out a similar set to the one I did at the Southern. I got some ok laughs, and got to fine-tune some of it which was nice. I’d give this set a C as well. Another successful and productive set.
After my set I headed out and headed to Mojos. My buddy Alex had told me that the crowd was super hot there. I knew I was going to be going last so the crowd would be different, but I wanted to see if I could catch some of the hotter sets of the night and headed over there.
I got there and walked in on Kim Nario’s set. I hadn’t seen her at a mic in forever so it was cool to see her do a sweatiest. I got to watch Mu do another solid set. He has really been putting work in and it shows. Always cool to see the growth of another local comic.
After a little while we started to get into the rough part of the show. A lot of newer comics trying out newer stuff. There was a pretty rough patch of about 6 or 7 comics where they were bombing, but also the crowd was getting tired/starting to leave. So I was fully anticipating this being a real tough mic. Which is fine because I have started trying to just treat these shows like the gym anyway.
I go up and start going into my new material. It is working pretty well. I am starting to win the crowd back and then I get heckled. Which is fine. I just conintue to do the material over top of him and it is still working. Then it gets a little out of control so I handled him. I can handle hecklers pretty well. I addressed him, made fun of him a little bit, and also made fun of the last time when I lost it on a heckler because I was going through some stuff. It got some huge laughs, and really won the audience over.
My last joke did super well and I even got the heckler to leave. I’d give this set a B. It felt so good, and really helped me to reestablish myself as someone who can handle a heckler (I have worried since the one incident that people forget that I can handle stuff like that.) Buhse gave me a big hug, and we had a laugh about my previous meltdown. Mojos is a great workout room. It is a challenge and definitely helps you grow as a comic.
I got to chat and hang with some dope people after the show for a bit, and then headed home and immediately passed out. Great night all around. Awesome start to what is hopefully a really fun week.
XOXOXO Love you baybeedolls so much. You’re my favorite laydees on earth and I just want to hug you all. Follow me on IG @winstonhcomedy and on my website winstonhodges.com See you soon sweeties!!!
