Interesting that there's tension between Obama and Biden since leaving office. Did any other recent presidents have issues with their vice president?
Ummm....Trump legitimately almost got his Vice President killed on January 6th, so let's not forget that. Especially since Mike Pence was one of the most subservient, ass-kissingest (I made that word up, it's okay) Vice Presidents in American history up until the last two weeks of their Administration.
Pretty much all of the POTUS/VP partnerships this century ended kinda badly. Bill Clinton and Al Gore were barely on speaking terms for a few years. Gore felt that Clinton cost him dearly with the whole Lewinsky scandal right before Gore made his own bid for the Presidency in 2000. Clinton felt that Gore should have sucked it up and used him more as a surrogate on the campaign trail because even with the scandals, Clinton was still a wildly popular President in his last few years in office, and a top-notch campaigner. Gore tried to put as much distance as possible between him an Clinton during the 2000 campaign and considering how razor-thin the margin was in 2000, Clinton's presence on the campaign trail probably would have sealed the deal and made Gore the President.
George W. Bush and Dick Cheney were growing apart in Bush's second term. Bush started to bristle at all the talk that he was an empty suit and that Cheney was the power behind the throne, and he sidelined Cheney in the second term compared to Cheney's aggressive role in the first term, particularly during the run-up to the Iraq War. The breaking point was when Bush refused to pardon Scooter Libby, Cheney's chief of staff, who was indicted and ultimately convicted for leaking information about Valerie Plame's role as a CIA agent. Cheney thought President Bush should give Libby a full and clear pardon, but although Bush commuted Libby's prison sentence, he refused to give him a full pardon and it infuriated Cheney. They've reconciled over the years, but it's still a sore spot whenever Cheney talks about it. Of course, Donald Trump eventually pardoned Libby.
I think we'll learn more about the relationship between President Biden and Vice President Harris after the election, but it doesn't seem like they were particularly close, although there wasn't the outright tension as in the other partnerships I've mentioned. Biden has always had an extremely tight circle of close advisers, and I don't think Kamala ever was a part of that insular world around Biden. It seems that, instead of tension between the principals, there were issues from the beginning between the two staffs. I'm not sure they were ever completely on the same page, but those stories won't fully come to light until after November.

The lines at the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse.
The Trump hush money trial has become a public grovelling pit for Republicans wishing to be Trump's running mate. These people have lost any remaining dignity they might have still had.
VP wannabees: Be careful what you ask for.

The missing man.

May 16, 2024
At the Republican National Committee's spring donor retreat held at his Florida golf resort last week, Donald Trump mingled with a long list of potential running mates. Included were such reliable Trump toadies as senators Marco Rubio of Florida, J.D. Vance of Ohio and Tim Scott of South Carolina. Also in attendance were North Dakota governor Doug Burgum, South Dakota governor and puppy killer Kristi Noem, as well as New York congresswoman Elise Stefanik.
But little notice has been given to the fact that absent from this parade of flatterers and flunkies was Trump's former vice president, Mike Pence (pictured above leaving the MAGA formation). It's standard practice, of course, for presidents who are running for reelection to keep their vice presidents on the ticket. So why isn't Trump?
The answer to that is fairly straightforward: Pence refused to join in Trump's illegal fake electors plot to overturn the 2020 election and return him to office. It seems that when Trump incited thousands of armed rioters — some chanting "Hang Mike Pence!" — to attack the US Capitol in January 2021, that was the last straw. From then on, the once faithful veep was a committed never-Trumper. Said Pence later, "President Trump asked me to put him over the Constitution. But I chose the Constitution, and I always will."
Naturally, Trump never called Pence on or after January 6 to see if he was all right. And never apologized for putting his dependably loyal #2 in danger. Instead, Trump's response was about what you'd expect from a weak, petty individual who never forgets or forgives a slight. Last August, he wrote on his failing social media site:
WOW, it’s finally happened! Liddle’ Mike Pence, a man who was about to be ousted as Governor Indiana until I came along and made him V.P., has gone to the Dark Side. I never told a newly embolded…Pence to put me above the Constitution…He’s delusional, and now he wants to show he’s a tough guy.
Last year, Pence entered the presidential race himself, calling for a rejection of Trump's "siren song of populism" and for a return to the solid conservative policies of "limited government, free enterprise, fiscal responsibility and traditional moral values." But his words fell on deaf ears with a party mired in MAGA madness. He dropped out in October 2023.
And so it is that, with former VP Pence omitted from the Mar-a-Lago auditions, Trump's squadron of those who could serve as his campaign wingman has a noticeable vacancy.

Never let anyone tell you men are not messy or don't gossip.
They do ! Case in point.
I'm here for that mess, and if it elevates the rhyme and art. I'm here for it. Coz the male rap game has been dry, don't even get me started with the bare minimum production value touring.

Here you go. Every known member of the DOGE Boys and Girls club.
Interestingly Katie Miller, former Pence VP aid and spouse of Nazi Stephen Miller, somehow found a job she is not qualified for with DOGE.
DOGE itself is corruption, waste, cronyism, and fraud. Save the government money by abolishing the DOGE Asshole Squad.

you don’t have to answer if this could cause some discourse, but what’s with all the republicans screaming about the documents biden had? that’s not the same situation, is it?
You tell me:
BIDEN
Is the sitting US President
Had one box of documents dating from his tenure as VP that, during a review by his own staff, were found to be classified
Immediately notified NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) that was the case, within one day
NARA came and retrieved them
The end
This "1,850 boxes!" thing Trump keeps screaming about refers to the UNCLASSIFIED documents that Biden put in his VP library
He does not own, physically possess, or use these documents; NARA does
TRUMP
Explicitly admitted (on tape) that as he was no longer president, it was illegal for him to possess these documents, much less encourage others to look at them, which he then did
Spent months refusing, ducking, ignoring, or obstructing requests by NARA to return the documents he took
Finally, when DOJ issued a subpoena, he also ignored/lied about it
This led to the raid on Mar-a-Lago and the retrieval of the documents, which had been carelessly stored in unsecured locations and shared with God knows who;
Some of these documents are still missing;
The indictment today explicitly spells out that these are extremely high level defense and national security documents, including nuclear, in regard to the US and foreign countries, and that there would be a substantial risk of harm to American interests or individuals if they were disclosed
Trump recruited staff and family in said months-long, ongoing attempted coverup, commiting more crimes (obstruction, etc) in the process
THIRTY ONE COUNTS UNDER THE ESPIONAGE ACT
That.... does not happen by accident. Or even because you took some papers and genuinely forgot to give them back.
Hey anyone remember Mike Pence?
I know, I try not to either
He was also found to have had a classified document at home recently
He returned it and therefore, was not charged
It's so easy to not get charged with 31 counts under the Espionage Act
I cannot emphasize enough how easy it is
Just give the documents back when they ask! Or better yet, don't take them at all! And definitely don't LITERALLY WAVE THEM UNDER PEOPLE'S NOSES AND BOAST ABOUT IT!
Republicans (at least the establishment ones; the crazies are in full-on alternate reality) know this very well
But don't expect to catch any of them saying so
Once again: 31 counts under the Espionage Act
At this rate we will be at 100 separate felonies by the time this summer is over
Or more
I'm not picky

5 Facts About Trump’s Indictments
Trump’s defenders are still lying about his indictments. Here are 5 crucial facts you can share with whoever in your life needs to hear them.
1. President Biden did not indict Trump.
Four different grand juries — made up of ordinary citizens — indicted Trump after being presented with evidence they found compelling enough to warrant criminal prosecution.
The reason we have grand juries is specifically to help make sure no one gets prosecuted out of a personal vendetta.
2. This isn’t about “free speech”
In all four cases, Trump has been indicted because of what he allegedly did, not what he said. Lots of crimes involve speech, but that doesn’t stop them from being crimes. Even Trump’s hand-picked attorney general, Bill Barr, recognizes this defense is nonsense.
3. It doesn’t matter whether Trump believed the election was stolen
There’s plenty of evidence that Trump knew he lost the election fair and square. His claims of massive fraud were rejected by his own campaign manager, White House lawyers, and his hand-picked Justice Department officials.
And privately, Trump seemed to admit that he either knew or didn’t care that his claims were false, allegedly criticizing VP Pence for being “too honest,” and allegedly admitting to his Chief of Staff Mark Meadows that he lost and wanted to cover it up.
But even if Trump really did believe the election was stolen, that doesn’t give him the right to allegedly commit a criminal conspiracy to try to steal it back.
4. Trump has received preferential treatment because of who he is.
Trump’s defenders complain about a two-tiered justice system.
They’re right about that, but not in the way they claim. Trump has been given special privileges most criminal defendants would never get.
In all four criminal cases, he has been released without bail. He has repeatedly been spared the indignity of a mugshot. He has not had his passport suspended or had limits placed on his ability to travel — even though two of his criminal cases involve direct threats to national security, and even though he has used social media to issue insults and threats against potential witnesses, behavior that would cause many criminal defendants to be held without bail pending trial.
5. Trump was in legal trouble long before entering politics
Some of Trump’s defenders claim the sheer number of criminal charges and civil suits he’s now facing is proof that he’s being targeted for political reasons. But you have to remember that Trump was the subject of about 4,000 legal actions before ever running for president. From his fraudulent Trump University scam to federal lawsuits over racist housing discrimination, Trump has spent his life in court because of his own shady behavior.
Trump is being prosecuted now because, as four grand juries have found, the strength of the evidence against him merits it. If we fail to hold him fully accountable under the law, the precedent will embolden future presidents to break the law, jeopardize national security, incite insurrections, and possibly even overturn an election.
The principle that no one is above the law is only true if we make it so.

KAMALA HARRIS WILL PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS!!!!!
fun fact: project 2025 is coming after EVERYBODY.
women: do you like bodily autonomy, the right to leave abusive relationships, the ability to work, and birth control? Trump is coming after it.
POC: We all already know how racist that fucker is. now he's trying to shut down the office that handles civil rights. think about that for a second
queer people: Trump and Vance? they're coming for your right to get married (pssst, that also means your right to see your partner in the hospital, and other serious issues). remember when Pence was the VP? remember how hard he supported conversion therapy? yeah.
trans people: Trump and Vance want to stop kids from transitioning, trans inclusion in schools, and other basic rights for trans people
hey, even you straight white men! listen: this might not affect YOU, but imagine this world for a second. you can never ever leave your wife because they want to eliminate divorce. all those "i hate my wife jokes"? get ready to be stuck with them! what about kids? are you prepared to have a ton of kids because your wife can't get birth control? do you really want to live in a world that's controlled by the catholic church, even if you aren't religious? are you prepared to live in a world where the people around you are dying? and Trump is power hungry af. guess what? if you're not rich, you might be next. are you ready?
if ANY of these issues matter to you, you HAVE to vote blue. even if you want to criminalize abortions, if you like your right to go to work? VOTE BLUE. because Trump might take away abortions, but he's coming for working women, too. even if you think trans people shouldn't be allowed to transition, but you like your kids properly educated, guess what? VOTE MOTHERFUCKING BLUE. because Trump might take away gender affirming care, but he'll also take YOUR rights.
Trumps America is good for NO ONE! not even rich straight white men! WE ALL will suffer if he is elected. i don't care if you agree with one or two things he is proposing, remember that a vote for Trump is a vote for EVERYTHING he stands for. a vote for Trump is a vote AGAINST LIBERTY and after he takes from the minorities, he's coming for you, too.
get out the damn vote. vote blue.
