Mary Howard-Elley is the 10th U.S. citizen identified by ProPublica, The Texas Tribune and Votebeat whose registration was canceled after her citizenship was questioned. Her saga shows how tough it can be for eligible voters to get reinstated.
maybe rethink your support?

If you are a voter in Georgia, please check your registration consistently as the election approaches.
The Secretary of State has launched a program that allows people to cancel registrations. Including other people's registrations. They can do so with only your name, date of birth, and county.
In Georgia, you have until 29 days before the election to register or re-register if you were purged.

To cancel the registration of any Georgia voter, you just need their first initial, last name, County, and date of birth. All of this information is basically public for everyone.

BREAKING: The 9th Circuit Court just ruled against Democrats by overruling the lower court judge who blocked an Arizona election integrity law that made it a felony to forward mail-in ballots to people who live elsewhere. It's now REINSTATED!
"In sum, the district court ABUSED its discretion in concluding that the plaintiffs would likely prevail in their challenge of the Felony Provision and granting their motion for preliminary injunction. Because we hold that the Felony Provision is not unconstitutionally vague, the plaintiffs have not met their burden of showing a likelihood of success on the merits."
- Judge Kenneth Lee, writing for the majority The law also includes a provision requiring local election officials to cancel a voter's registration if they find out the voter is registered to vote in another county and has a provision to remove them from the permanent vote-by-mail list.
It's very telling that Democrats argued that the law explicitly harms them. Are they trying to tell us that if we make it harder to cheat, they'll never win?

Hey all if you're like me and can't be bothered with Jury Summons or simply want less spam mail here's a useful portal to withdraw from the voter registry!
Each state has its own forms and rules but luckily most of them are listed here, and the process is SIMPLE and FREE!
Remember, it's never too late and there's no drawbacks or penalties for removing yourself from the voter registry!

Wow just when you think Couch Boy can’t sink any lower:
So he’s not only applauding a woman for being trashy and crass but he’s also saying women voting for Harris are doing so on “Menstrual Madness”:
And DON'T forget, he admitted to LYING about Haitians eating dogs and cats just for clicks:
This guy is a disgusting piece of shit and with nine days until the election, I’d just like to say this serves as a reminder to NOT get complacent just because things are going great for us! If we take our feet off the brakes and stop now, not ONLY does that mean Trump wins but given his poor condition (the mother fucker has been canceling events and sways like a lost puppy), I have no doubt we’ll end up with PRESIDENT VANCE after a year or two. 🤢
And given his comments; DEFINITELY expect for the 19th Amendment to be repealed. If not outright repealed, I have no doubt it’ll be sent back to the states” 🙄 And sadly that's best case scenario.....
BUT to AVOID that hell; Here is the link to register to vote along with the deadlines varying by state! Also, your own vote isn’t enough! Get as many people as you can to vote for Kamala be it your friends, cousins, parents, grandparents, old friends from high school and college, coworkers, boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, wives, stepchildren (if they’re 18 and over) and the list goes on and on but every vote counts! ALSO PLEASE check your registration DAILY because MAGA WILL purge your voter registration!!
And early voting has started! And if you don’t wanna vote on November 5th, Early Voting is another option! Like I said get as many people as you know and try early voting that way you can avoid MAGA fuckery on November 5th! Here’s the link down below listing the dates by state:
Mail in Ballots are ANOTHER option I highly recommend!! And like I said get as many people as you can to take advantage of this option! BUT if you decide to go with Mail In/Absentee Ballots; PLEASE mail your ballots at the ACTUAL USPS office!! That way MAGAts won't fuck with it.
And lastly voting abroad is something I’ve seen people take advantage of and i HIGHLY recommend it!! Here’s the link!!
I'll end this post with this:
If you get complacent AGAIN like in 2016, you WILL end up with PRESIDENT JD VANCE.
Choose Wisely.

Jon IV Update
Prose: 486
Outline: 3,222
AN: 41
Well... at least I've gotten started? Really annoyed that I'm so far behind where I wanted to be, but I've been busy with all sorts of IRL stuff. Darn. But hey, maybe I'll get some more writing done over the weekend :)
Part of what has been keeping me busy is organizing to help Kamala Harris defeat Donald Trump this November. If you're interested in joining me, you can get involved here. And everyone should check their voter registration ASAP! A lot of swing states have been seeing GOP officials cancel voter registrations to try and reduce turnout, but we're not gonna let 'em 😉😤

Brandi Buchman at HuffPost:
Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R) attempt to appeal a federal judge’s ruling that he was out of line when he purged 1,600 people from voter rolls — which he said was an attempt to keep suspected noncitizens from voting — failed at the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals over the weekend. The appellate court’s order was unanimous. Youngkin plans to appeal the decision “immediately,” a spokesperson for Virginia Attorney General Jason Mirayes said Sunday. The next step will be the U.S. Supreme Court. U.S. District Judge Patricia Giles decided last week to reinstate 1,600 voters to the rolls in Virginia. In August, just 90 days before Election Day, Youngkin issued an executive order that instructed the Department of Motor Vehicles to remove noncitizens automatically from voter rolls.
Giles found that this likely violated the National Voter Registration Act’s 90-day “quiet period,” which prohibits sweeping, systematic changes or modifications to voter rolls before Election Day. The Justice Department sued Youngkin to stop the purge after plaintiffs including the Virginia Coalition for Immigrant Rights, the League of Women Voters of Virginia, the League of Women Voters of Virginia Education Fund, and African Communities Together had already launched their own lawsuit. The cases were consolidated. Ultimately, both parties argued that the automated purge unfairly swept up eligible citizen voters thanks to errors on DMV forms that incorrectly labeled them as noncitizens. The voter advocacy groups also argued that the purge was discriminatory, but Giles has not reached a decision on that specific claim. Giles’ ruling last week in no way ordered noncitizens to be put onto voter rolls. Instead, it found that Virginia had simply failed to present any evidence backing its decision to cancel registrations for the 1,600 voters. Attorneys for the commonwealth only provided the names and addresses of people impacted by the purge to the court, but whether they were actually noncitizens was unproven.
The 4th Circuit Court ruled against Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) in Virginia Coalition For Immigrant Rights v. Beals that his voter purge of 1,600 people from the Commonwealth’s voter rolls is unlawful.
Expect this case to go to SCOTUS.

If you’re able to vote in the US but you well and truly cannot bring yourself to vote in November, I implore you, consider donating your vote to an incarcerated person, unhoused person, someone whose registration was unjustly cancelled, or anyone who for whatever reason can’t vote and vote on their behalf.
Reach out to a local shelter. Find the nearest corrections facility. Look up voter registration groups in your area. Talk to your neighbors, your elders, the disabled person in your apartment building who’s at too high a risk to go outside, the single parent with three kids down the block. And if you still don’t want to vote, ask what you can do to make it possible for them to vote. Whatever you do, do not sit idly by. There is too much at stake this election. Or, even better yet, go out and vote.

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose.
In the latest example of Ohio Republicans showing they’ll do anything to thwart an abortion ballot measure, state officials canceled the registrations of nearly 27,000 inactive voters. On November 7, voting ends for Issue 1, which would amend the state constitution to enshrine the right to abortion. (The pro-choice position is to vote “yes.”)
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose (R) ordered the purge of 26,666 voters in late September but didn’t announce the move. About 4,700 purged voters are from Franklin County, which includes the Democratic stronghold of Columbus. People who were purged can re-register to vote—but, importantly, not in time to vote on the ballot measure. The deadline for this election was October 10.

Some insights I've gained working as a poll worker for early voting
I strongly wonder how much "voter suppression" is actually just sheer incompetence on the part of various systems/organizations. Because as a poll worker, I now want to fight both the BMV (my state's version of the DMV) and the postal service. And to a lesser extent the local election office.
Common issues we deal with that are not the result of malice, but of incompetence:
Person is still registered at an address they haven't lived at in years, despite being told when they update their license that it will also update their registration (can still vote)
Staff struggles to find person's registration in the system, find out it's because whoever entered them into the system in the first place put them in wrong (incorrect birthday, misspelled name, etc.). (can still vote)
Person was told they could register when they got their license at the BMV. The BMV evidently did not follow through (cannot vote, this one has caused us some drama)
Moved here from elsewhere, was told when they updated their license their registration would also be updated. See above. (can vote, but only if they can get back to the place they're registered in, which has varying degrees of difficulty)
Person requested an absentee ballot, did not receive it before the date they would need to be leaving the city by, so they came to vote in person instead. (can vote, we just gotta call the election office to have them cancel the absentee ballot). We had an especially odd case of a couple filling out their request forms and mailing them together. Wife received her ballot, husband doesn't even show up as having requested one.
Person received absentee ballot, filled it out, mailed it back with plenty of time... and for some reason it doesn't make it to the election office until months later. I personally have not experienced this as I'm only a volunteer poll worker, but my mom who worked more in the system saw it a few times.
None of these are malicious acts intended to rig the election one way or another, I've seen them happen to people of all different genders, races, backgrounds, ages, and political leanings. It's just sheer incompetence by certain groups. And I don't really know, from an outside position anyway, how to fix it. Mom says there's been talk for a while of wanting to remove registering at the BMV just cause they fuck it up so often, but there's push back against that. No idea what to do about the mail, there's already several things in place meant to make it organized and efficient and they still manage to fuck it up bad.
The best advice I can give to the common voter is: Register well ahead of time, do not leave it to the last minute. Even if you think you're good, check in when it gets closer to the election to be sure your shit went through as it should have. Look into early voting in your area (mine has it basically a full month leading up to election day). Make sure ahead of time that you have whatever you need to vote, my state requires ID. Double check you know what's required (sorry lady, your son's high school ID card is not a valid form of voter ID).
I can only speak for my own location, but we really do try our hardest to make sure everyone who is eligible to vote gets to. And it's really hard that people don't trust us and don't want to listen to us when we're trying to help them because they think we're The Enemy.
