I made the getaway plush into a yokai!

This Lil tricky bugger is Voo-doom! As their name implies, their a voodoo doll, but there a bit more than that.

Just like a normal getaway plush, They're primarily based on the practice of "Wara Ningyo." That's right! This is a classic yokai!

Wara Ningyo was the practice of nailing a doll and talisman in the hopes of confusing malicious spirits and energies, the idea being they'd mistake the doll for a person and attack it instead.

Unfortunately, the practice had a fatal flaw in that if the doll had any part of a person, such as a piece of hair, is would cause those same malicious spirits to target that person specifically. Basically, it curses them.

It's this that makes a wara ningyobso similar to a voodoo doll, and even a pentagram. If used for good intentions, all three are powerful protective charms. But in the hands of someone malicious, they're basically like ordering a demonic hit out on someone.

As for Voo-doom themself, they are a Wara ninygo who has absorbed so much energy from malicious yokai that they came to life! The good nature of their creation is often in conflict with this energy, so Voo-doom is a bit of a trickster.

Being inspirited by Voo-doom is basically like being under a voodoo doll, anything that happens to them, happens to you.

Voo-doom is a D rank, classic yokai of the Eerie tribe. They are a drain attribute with the soultimate "bad mojo" which inspirits all opponents.

But they also have the skill "Cursed." Any inspirited by Voo-doom will take damage, every time Voo-doom does.

Look at that! I managed to make a classic yokai that wasn't a water attribute! I hope you enjoy!

Apocalypse AU Alastor

This is the second addition to the collab I have going with @mystoriesmylives for the Hazbin Hotel Apocalypse AU we are building together This is the first of many evocative pieces inspired by the colorful cast of Helluva Boss.

ID: This is a grayscale lightly shaded sketch of Alastor dressed better prepared for endurance and combat as he would experience more instances of violence in this post-apocalyptic setting. Without his coat, he opts for a more casual look with rolled up sleeves and garters, protective leather gloves over his hands and strikingly vibrant holsters for his blades that accent his eye-catching color scheme. Of course, with the presence of a more continuous flow of his voodoo inspired magic, his form is decorated with phantom stitches keeping his corpse-like stature intact and upright. I know Jax has had a chunk of the fandom turn on him since He acted like a big jerk in episode 2 which is kinda what people loved about him in episode 1. I've seen people say the fandom headcannoned what they thought on Jax too hard and got moody when it didn't add up with their specific theories. I think what it was really was that he basically dictated what the rest of the cast did on the adventure and he didn't get any real punishment for being a meanie. As much as we need the scene where Gangle finally stands up for herself (Which will be glorious) I think the fandom just needs to wait it out till there comes an episode to be written where he does get karma for his actions or show his "tender side"

Reading today's Dracula Daily entry reminded me of a question I had a while back: What makes holy/sacred relics/totems effective wards against vampires?

I see four possible options:

1. The belief in the individual wielding it gives it power.

2. The belief in the individual giving it gives it power.

3. The belief in the monster encountering it gives it power.

4. The thing itself has inherent power.

When the lady in the inn gives Jonathan a crucifix necklace (maybe a rosary?), he clearly states that he views it as idolatrous rather than holy. I'm not convinced that option 4 is valid, as we have the many stories of vampires sleeping in crypts in cemeteries and I wouldn't think they'd be able to enter or exit with the number of religious symbols all about.

So that leaves us with option 2 or 3. I'm inclined to think that it is most likely option 2. But that makes me wonder: could an announced effigy of a vampire be used to destroy the monster remotely?
