Since the show had a medieval themed subscribes (Rescue Knights) do you think they'll make a subseries based on Dungeons and Dragons?

I guess if they'd want to do something based on DnD, they'd have used the Rescue Knights cue, but then again they had Sea Patrol and still came up with Aqua Pups, which I still didn't get there yet but I feel it's the same thing technically...

But I'd be down to watch the pups PLAYING a RPG. Every series should have a RPG episode, I remember the ones from Ninja Turtles 2012 and Voltron Legendary Defender were very funny. Bless Shiro and his insistence on playing as a Paladin for every new character sheet he made while also already being a Paladin irl just because he didn't want to be anything else.

Gemini  

There are certain table-top games that literally do not need to exist. The fact that they do and have been sold for decades says something about us collectively! Try to imagine someone in the 1970’s pitching the idea to Milton Bradley for a 2-person game requiring spelling proficiency and dozens of play pieces? If you were thinking “Scrabble”, you’re wrong. HANGMAN! This week… make something useless.  

Cancer Moon-Child 

I’ve got Good News and Bad News for you. The GOOD NEWS is - there is an alternative to the Dungeons and Dragons Brand adventuring game system; it’s called “Pathfinder”! The BAD NEWS is… there is an offshoot version called “Ponyfinder” that re-skins all the characters and creatures in a thinly-veiled My Little Pony theme. You thought Game Nights were bad BEFORE?  

Leo 

You’re going to start a new campaign with an experienced DM. Get together with your player group and agree on a specific class: Centaur Warlocks! The DM might not like it, but hey! You’re all from the same town, so it works, right? And you all have your Pact Marks on your flanks. As soon as the DM’s eyes widen, you all sing out, “My Little Centaur! My Little Centaur!” This week, keep psychiatric services on emergency speed dial.

Virgo 

You can get in on this one too! According to the rules Centaurs can mount other centaurs. MEANING… your five-centaur magic party can mount up and form Medieval Voltron! This week, keep these plans to yourself!

Libra 

Hey, Scorpio? Heads up! We got a request to, quote, “Tear Into Libra And Scorpio” this week. So here we go. May all your saving throws be Natural-Ones, and all attack rolls on you Natural-20’s.

Scorpio 

Just so we don’t leave you with nothing… May all of your familiars be baby mind flayers. –who get taken away from you by Infant Protection because you can’t feed it.   

Sagittarius 

Ok, One More Centaur item because you actually fit the bill. Centaurs average about six-feet, so little short of 2 metres tall. Humans average about the same, maybe a little shorter. So-o-o-o… either the horse-bodies are like tiny ponies, or the human torso is freakishly short. Either way, have fun getting that image out of your head this week. 

Capricorn 

Playing adventuring games can be a philosophical tour-de-force for people. For instance, you might get answers to questions you’d never considered before. For instance, if you tell the DM you want to search the chest for contents and they say, “Ok… Roll D-20 for me. And since this is a surprise condition you get no modifiers on initiative.” –you never thought to ask how to identify Mimics, did you? If you survive this, plan on asking. 

Aquarius 

Be glad the Magic Missile spell doesn’t require any material components to cast. A little waggle of the fingers and a spoken word and THOOM! Bunch of little darts fly into enemies. But imagine a house rule that says you still have to roll d20 attack… and on a Natural-One the material component is your own fingernails forming the missile. This week get your nails done professionally. 

Pisces  

Magic users get picked on a lot. Here’s how you can even the playing field. Stop referring to it as your wand or a staff. Call it a Tree Bone! Not only are you suddenly bad-ass, but even the low-intelligence barbarian will respect you. This week, play up your achievements. They need them.

QUESTION what are some things you’d recommend about isat? I’ve been thinking about maybe getting it but I don’t know much about the gameplay and I’ve gotten spoilers for it just from seeing posts on here but it seems interesting!

do you like amazing quality of life measures that make playing games fun instead of a grinding slog? ISAT does this and more. Because its a time loop rpg, its easy to think that gameplay will become repetitive and annoying, but there are in game mechanics that prevent this

are you tired of token gays being shoved in your face while at the same time being barely present at all, like Disney's FIRST GAY [insert extra here] and Voltron making Shiro gay at the last second, for kudo points? ISAT's got your back by NOT doing that. It focuses on the story first but makes time for the characters to have their moments.

speaking of character moments, this game has FANTASTIC chemistry between all of the characters. It's refreshing to follow the story of a friend group and actually be able to believe they're friends by how they talk and act with eachother.

Also the things i've reblogged are unfortunately from a small portion of the game. theres SO MUCH

my first ever oc!! She's born in 1100 and has travelled with her mother for as long as she can remember, constantly on the run from something she's never gotten explained to her. Until, one day, her mother gets caught D: Liwh sees her hang from the gallows already the next day (and other things bc uhhh 13yr me making this character really went bonkers with the tragedy)

these two are actually my irl Museum job characters!! Twins, born in the 1760s, they get job at the local sheriff's (länsman) farm, but somehow keep missing each other and leaves in search for their sibling! But now, a few years later, they're back working at their parents farm. They're both half-finnish too bc Torkel is actually a Finnish name, but idk how much they'd know about that side of the family

Elyha Ivy Moon

my WoBA (world of the bending arts) RPG atla oc, an airbender born in around 500AG, 17 yrs old and lives in the Republic City with her mums Mary and Rose, and their older sibling Reese. Elyha and Reese are both adopted by Mary and Rose and they often joke the family is the avatar but split up (Elyha air, Reese earth, Mary water and Rose fire). Elyha's bio parents was a moonblessed waterbender (like Yue) and an airbender, which is how she got her white hair.

Rira 'El Fuego'

another atla oc!! She got kidnapped as a very young child by Ozai and Azulon for her purple fire. She's around the same age as Lu Ten and is a very skilled firebender (Ozai and Azulon won't accept anything less, even from the child they kidnapped) and she, after realising the children were no danger, could be seen with Zuko, Azula and Lu Ten. She actually goes with Iroh to the siege of ba sing se! and after that, the sun warriors!

Sara 'Saga Berry' Gustafson

born in the early 1960s, she's one of my youngest OCs on 11 years! She's specifically from a Gravity Falls dream I once had, which then turned into an au. Orphaned and homeless after her mother got evicted, she spends years on the streets before finally being found by Stan Pines during his homeless days. When Stan leaves the country, she goes with him as his adopted daughter and actually spends the rest of her childhood living on the streets and travelling the world with Stan! She's in her twenties when she starts even thinking about settling down somewhere

Excluding the CDI and Japan exclusive stuff, I've played every Zelda game except for Triforce Heroes and the Warriors titles.

Four Swords Adventures was my first Zelda game <3 I was like 9 or 10 the first time I played it and I've beat it more times than I can count. I used to play it on sick and snow days.

Twilight Princess is my favorite Zelda game. It has my favorite art direction, my favorite dungeons, and my favorite bosses. Plus I love its dark tone and the way it demonstrates good and evil being a willful choice.

Currently working through TotK but I have an arm injury thats caused me nerve and tendon damage so holding a controller is hard after 20-30 min :( I like TotK more than BotW for gameplay.

Also on my "currently playing" list is FE Three Houses which is incredible btw (dmitri my beloved) and Baldur's Gate 3 (astarion my beloved).

I play a lot of sims. Like multiple thousands of hours of sims. I've been playing since sims 2. Sims 3 is my favorite for gameplay but Sims 4 has an amazing build mode (except i miss auto roofing). im jellypop on the gallery if anyone wants to check out my builds!

and bc its a snow day and im feeling Nostalgic and Wistful, as a kid my older sister and I used to play games together. We've beat Battle for Volcano Island (i want a switch rerelease) so many times. She always played as Sam once we got her and I always played as Danny. we used to watch each other play games by one of us having a walkthrough pulled up in case the other needed it. I watched her play Epic Mickey multiple times this way XD

regarding R6 i actually dont like shooters save Crysis, Deus Ex, and Half-life. I like dungeon crawlers and single player rpgs. i also enjoy point and clicks, match 3, and puzzlers. I hate online games although Guild Wars 2 is pretty dope.

I really enjoy stardew valley and skyrim/oblivion. Also Firewatch and What Remains of Edith Finch are both incredible games

non video game wise i play a lot of Magic the Gathering. Primarily commander but sometimes pioneer. I dont play arena and i'm not into the lore XD my most serious edh deck is a rat colony deck and my least serious deck is an esior/falthis voltron build. my first build was kalamax <3

I also really enjoy board and card games! Azul, pitch, canasta, hanafuda.

i play killteam sometimes too but im more into the hobby side of warhammer than the actual game

i’ve started my annual relisten of interstitial season one and i feel like i have been neglecting my duties as your dashboard’s resident actual play podcast liker so here. have a recommendation post.

Why You Should Listen To Interstitial: A Crossover Driven Actual Play Podcast

first of all: what am i talking about? well, interstitial is a tabletop game written by riley hopkins inspired by kingdom hearts. in riley’s own words, it is “a tabletop RPG about our connections with other people, the power we draw from those connections, and traveling to different worlds.” it’s a powered by the apocalypse game so if you’re familiar with dungeon world, monster of the week, or masks, you’ll pick it up pretty quickly. (you can get it on riley’s website or on itch.io!)

but this post is not about the game. this is about interstitial the crossover driven actual play podcast, which began as a patreon reward for the got it memorized? kingdom hearts recap podcast.

interstitial has three seasons and several bonus arcs to its name. you don’t need to listen to all the seasons in order for the others to make sense, but i still recommend you do. here is what the seasons are like:

season one, the original patreon reward season, is directly inspired by and linked to kingdom hearts, featuring keyblades, nobodies, and the funniest version of organization xiii you’ve ever heard. i will not spoil you for the characters or worlds visited in this season; i will simply tell you to listen to the first ten minutes of character creation and say that that just about sets the standard for the rest of the show. (all properties contained in this season are specifically disney owned which, as we know, is a very VERY wide umbrella.) by the way i listened to season one the first time while knowing nothing about kingdom hearts and i still understood most of it so don’t worry about that.

the door to darkness specials are one-shot specials released between seasons one and two. here are some things that happen in them: shego from kim possible norts archie andrews (touch of evil), riley fails so many rolls that tony hawk fades from existence completely (reality and other falsehoods), wheels plays bright eyes from the total eclipse of the heart music video (lonely souls), and in the 2 fast 2 furious special the party has to prevent matt hardy and problem sleuth from being norted.

season two, subtitled authority, breaks away from the disney property mantle. the protagonists are rescued fragments of destroyed worlds who are being shuffled from world to world while their worlds are being rebuilt. well, that’s the original conceit, anyway. i want you to also listen to this season’s character creation episode, if nothing else, because it is the PERFECT example of how to do character introductions through a framing device. also, there is a cyborg version of john cena being chased down by his version of vince mcmahon who has transcended this mortal coil and is now a gas cloud.

season three, subtitled proximity, was a surprise release at the beginning of 2022. it’s the heist season; the characters are part of a crew set up to just rob some motherfuckers blind. that’s an oversimplification. i cannot stress enough that season three is perfect in every fucking way. if you thought pidge voltron should have been canonically nonbinary, if you like john wick, if you like having two characters both named miles in the same room, if you like the abba song “the winner takes it all” you will love this season. it is only BARELY edged out by season one in my personal rankings because season one is my comfort show but who knows. i might revisit my rankings on my next relisten.

if you think the things i vaguely alluded to were buckwild, all i can say is, you’ve got a big storm coming.

each season is about sixteen episodes a piece, and each episode is about an hour long, so it’s very easily digestible. the episodes are absolutely hilarious and poignant in turn, everyone is a joy to listen to both in and out of character, and you can tell they’re all just having an absolute blast.

I just wanna gush about this character I made

My friends and I recently decided to give D&D a break and try out a new TTRPG system called Index Card RPG which comes with a sci-fi setting called WARP SHELL and it's super fun. One of the races you can choose (called a bioform) is a mecha, and one of my friends and I wanted to be one. We decided that another friend's mechanic character made us in a series. His character is named Null, the other mecha is named 01, my character is named 03, and there's a third lost mecha named 02. Both 01 and 03's memory of 02 have been wiped, and I have yet to learn anything about her

01 is a large tank-like robot with treads and a ripsaw and a taser. He's a scientist who specializes in xenobiology. (Unfortunately no picture available, but imagine something similar to Bastion from Overwatch with a big "01" painted on the side in block letters)

03 is a much thinner build with agile helicopter blade legs. He's designed for protection and specializes in machine guns. He has a massive particle cannon that unfolds from his torso and telescopes outward, resting over his shoulder in the form of a gatling gun. (Reference below for the type of robot he's shaped like, imagine something like that with a big "03" painted on the chest in block letters)

So there's this sort of subversion of expectations for 01 and 03's designs, with the big one being the brains and the littler one being the firepower. Null is a bit of an outcast, but always wanted friends so he created 01, 02, and 03 as a series of mecha to keep him company. And better yet, Null has a class ability called "jerry rigger" that allows him to combine any two machines to perform a hybrid function, so we decided we could use that to voltron 01 and 03 together.

I've written 03's personality to speak kind of pedantically and have very dry humor, inspired somewhat by Omega from Sonic. It's been very fun to roleplay and the deadpan deliveries and brotherly banter between 03 and 01 is fantastic.

It all just feels so epic, and I'm loving the freedom and simplicity of ICRPG. Plus a sci-fi setting after so much standard fantasy is pretty refreshing. I'm having lots of fun with it.
