Voltron Fandom: Get Yo Shit Together

Everyone has been talking about how horrible the Voltron fandom is. And I’ll tell you what the Voltron fandom did to be seen this way. They started calling people pedophiles because of shipping, which is totally not okay especially in today’s society where we run into a lot of problems with older people mostly males who prey on younger children which is not what these ships are at all. All shaladin shippers want is for Shiro to be happy. If you read most of the Shaladin fics, most of them are about whoever he is being shipped with helping him, caring for him and taking care of him. That is the point of Shaladin. To make a situation where Shiro is happy. The whole fandom situation has blown up. There are plenty of ships that you see on tumblr that you don’t ship and think it’s a little weird but there is NO reason to call someone a pedophile because of it.

The other reason Voltron is on the worst fandoms list is because of the recent events with the cast and with the leaks. Yes we know that the leaks were a big deal and it literally caused a huge lawsuit with both companies so it is important for the fandom to show the writers that there is enough of us to want to keep the show and by threatening the casts and writers over a ship is not going to help the situation.

It is absolutely horrible how some of the fandom treat the writers and the cast. How dare they talk to a human being like that. Many fans don’t remember that the writers are just as big of fans of the show as you are. Treat them like it. They are trying there hardest to make the show awesome but threatening them to put in your ship is not going to make the show awesome. It will make them force write it in and it will come out crappy and awkward. And to threaten the cast, what the hell honestly. They don’t help with the script. They don’t control what the characters do. They just love that the fandom loves their character so much. We see how much Josh Keaton talks to us on twitter. He is so nice and is just so happy the fans love the show as much as he does. Personally, I love how much he is involved with our fandom. I mean look at how he reacted to Swiss Roll Shiro. Yes he was confused but he didn’t make fun of it. He wasn’t mean about it at all. He just laughed it off. Other actors might have been repulsed or have nothing to do with it. But he took the goddamn time out of his day to look at it and respond to it. That’s a lot more than other actors. Seriously, why do you think we don’t see Steven Yeun a lot? It is not just be that he is so busy with the Walking Dead. He probably doesn’t want to get involved with the fandom politics especially having a character like Keith who is literally directly in the middle of most of the shipping wars. I literally just looked at his twitter and all of his tweets are deleted. Probably because of the horrible stuff comment on them. I see some of the comments on the actors twitter and some are just repulsing, saying suggestive comments like the tweet they are commenting on has nothing to with any of that or it’s for a serious event and people will still comment stuff like that.

It is absolutely disgusting what some of the fandom is doing. Absolutely 100% disgusting. How dare you treat someone like that. Just because you are behind a computer doesn’t mean that you can be horrible to another person. We need to stop these shipping wars and stop threatening the writers and the cast. WHO’S WITH ME?

I’m torn between wanting to ‘spoil’ myself by reading the tags after s7 drops before I watch it, so I know what i’m in for and I can prepare for whatever lays ahead or just saying ‘fuck it’ and watching it as it airs!!!!

my fight or flight responses has never been so high. I’m in a consent state of battle over being a chicken by reading what happens or being a hero and going in blind...it just really shows how much I value Voltron and Klance.
