Obey Me! Brothers handling a child!MC with self-aggression issues!

note: this is self-indulgent, i was a child with self-aggression issues, and still suffer with them to this day. what normally triggered my issues, or "outbursts" was being stressed or overwhelmed along with loud noises, like yelling. so this child!mc is based off of me as a kid, and i normally just clawed myself to hell and back or pulled my hair out.

warnings: mentions of self-harm, self-mutilation, mental issues (anger issues & self-aggression)

note: belphie was locked in the attic, but we don't mention lesson 16.

Lucifer

Honestly, knew nothing about self-aggression issues. He had dealt with Satan’s anger issues, but didn’t know if this was the same thing or not.

Found out it was the exact opposite of each other. That Satan’s anger issues led to loud and destructive outbursts. And that the human’s self-aggression issues lead to quiet outbursts of silent crying and mutilation of the body.

Lucifer was quite confused on how to approach this, he saw small scars of the former incidents, wondering why this child’s parents never cared enough to help them.

Turns out the child’s parents just didn’t care, and never really noticed and made this poor child feel like it was normal.

Lucifer would keep an eye on child!MC especially when it came to his brother’s yelling too loudly, and he would try to be a tad bit more gentle when it came to lecturing and scolding them to not ensue their self-aggression.

Whenever he would find it, he would grab their hands as gently as possible to get them out of their episode, gently comforting them and then informing them that it wasn’t normal to hurt oneself.

Tries to help them out of the habit, which helps for the most part, but the scars and trauma are still there.

Mammon

This man knew the problems of self-aggression, he even had problems with it himself, normally after a bout of bullying from his brothers, he hid himself in his room to privacy with his issues.

Knew exactly how to help this kid go through their issues with self-aggression. Not scolding or lecturing about the issue, but working with them. Finding out what’s wrong, and how to prevent it from happening again.

Main brother to help this kid out with their problems, doesn’t panic or freak out about it either just deals with it and work them through it.

Makes sure the kid is out of earshot and even bought the kid noise canceling headphones to block out the chaos of him and his brothers.

Always made sure to check on the kid as often as possible, making sure they weren’t stressed or overwhelmed.

Never left the child!MC alone unless they were with one of his brothers.

Leviathan

Freaked out when he found child!MC on the floor of their room clawing themselves.

Did not know what to do himself, so went to Satan or Lucifer. Neither knew what to do so just went to Mammon.

Watched as Mammon calmed the child.

Levi tried to keep calm around the child, he had self-worth problems, but knew they didn’t match up with this kids issues.

What was this kid? 7-8 years old?

How much stuff had this child gone through to cause this much damage?

Found out that child!MC liked to hide in Levi’s room when things were getting loud downstairs, he was normally quiet while playing games despite the occasional groan from losing.

Apparently the kid found it comforting to just watch him play and listening to the clicks on his controller or keyboard.

Would sometimes play with him to keep calm and ignore the chaos since his room was mainly soundproof because Asmodeus couldn’t take hearing him at night anymore.

Satan

Almost thought he was looking at a younger version of himself, just opposite outbursts.

Levi brought the child to his attention. He didn’t know what to do, so he ended up going to Mammon (secretly knowing about the second-eldest’s habit).

After that, he tried to read up on the problems the child was having, and found barely anything about it at all.

Like it was barely even noticeable besides being called a form of self-harm.

Satan almost got angry he couldn’t find anything about the issue in his books.

Satan noticed his outbursts caused this child to have their own outbursts.

Didn’t stay around the child often, in worry he’ll set off their problems.

One time when he was left alone with child!MC, he was reading in the library while they were sitting in the chair in the library reading something as well.

He noticed the kid seemed tense and kept scratching at an old wound, almost opening it back up before he grabbed their hand.

Satan sternly told them not to do that. He thought he had almost stressed the kid out and almost caused them to have an outburst.

Apparently it was something from earlier in the day at RAD, Mammon asked Beel to keep an eye on them because Lucifer called him for something and Beel left them alone in an empty classroom by accident.

They seemed to be trying to read as a distraction to only cause more them to be more stressed because they couldn’t focus.

Satan ended up taking the book and setting the kid next to him, reading to them where they left off.

Found out Satan’s reading voice was soothing, especially when they were stressed, didn’t help much with being overwhelmed, but that was Mammon’s territory.

Asmodeus

Asmodeus loved kids for the most part, just not kid’s like Satan.

Found out quickly that he could overwhelm the kid just by talking too much to them by accident.

Didn’t even notice until he found the kid digging their tiny nails into their scalp while covering their ears.

Was not allowed alone with them for a while because Asmodeus panicked and didn’t know what to do and ended up stressing the kid out.

Had to be talked to, scolded, by Lucifer about coming to get someone immediately if he didn’t know how to deal with it, not panic and leave it to get worse.

Always was tasked with doing their nails to make them less dangerous, by rounding them off or shortening them, or fixing them when the kid bites them so hard to cause them to crack.

Always got someone else when an outburst came on, never learned from the others how to deal with it.

Beelzebub

First time it happened, Beel just picked the kid up from the underarms and kept the kid's hands and arms in front of them to stop them from harming themselves.

Kept them like that until they wore themselves out and ended up giving up from trying to escape from his large arms.

Everytime he found child!MC doing it, he’d just pick them and hold them or hug them to stop them from trying.

Found out they will cling to him after a while, or stay near him since he’s the most silent of the brothers.

Normally grabs child!MC, when he thinks they are going to get too stressed or overwhelmed, normally takes them to their room, or to his and Belphie’s room.

Belphegor

child!MC was a bit comfortable around Belphie. He normally just slept most of the time, and he was mainly quiet when he was awake.

Belphie was old around the kid often when Beel brought them into their room to escape the other’s chaos.

When he can’t talk to child!MC to calm them down in an outburst, he uses his ability to put them to sleep to calm them down.

Ends up using it often as an excuse to cuddle with the child and keep them away from his brothers. 

Belphie found out that child!MC liked his presence, the kid was always wandering near him if they weren’t with Mammon, Beel, or Lucifer.

Originally thought their problems were similar to anger issues, like Satan.

Only helped calm the kid down, never tried to help fix the problem like his other brothers.

I can still remember when, many years ago, this poem turned up in 4th Form English Literature and completely mystified a class of 15-year-old boys because:

Almost none of us had ever seen a military rifle, never mind taken one apart, and the notion that doing so could be even slightly poetic had never crossed our 15-year-old male minds.

Gardens, flowers, bees, poetry and military rifles don't usually turn up this close together in the average 15-year-old male mind.

There's deliberate juxtaposition of contradictory imagery, the contrast of mind-numbing boredom with unfettered imagination, being stuck in a classroom when you want to be somewhere else, and all the other things you're supposed to consider when analysing a poem that may - or may not, you won't know until it's too late - play a role in end-of-term exams.

However hearing it aloud was rather different.

School had a pretty good tape library (radio programmes of plays, speeches etc.) and by an extraordinary fluke this, read in part by poet Henry Reed himself, is the actual recording played to my class.

That was when we realised there are hints and implications in this poem which may indeed turn up in quite a few 15-year-old male minds. They're just not usually discussed in 4th Form English Class.

At least they weren't discussed in mine... :-D

Crasher and Vixy! How stressful was it for you two when you saw the propaganda that the Diamond Cutters had fallen? Did you believe it right away or did you hold out hope? I imagine that your re-union with Whisper was very heartfelt. On that note, why did you decide to name her Whisper? Was she awfully quiet even as a baby?

"We...the propaganda was not how we found out about their deaths..." Vixy frowned, "Whisper called us a little while after it happened...she told us everything through her tears...Gaia, I wanted nothing more than to find her and held her in my arms then and there, but I was halfway across the glove with my own anti-Eggman work."

"When we did reunite with her, we never wanted to let her go," Crasher sighed, "But she was determined to continue her friends work and took inspiration from her mother by fighting alone, even after the war was over."

"Hm...you can never keep this wolf pack down," Vixy chuckled.

"That you can't!"

"And, yes, we named her Whisper because of how quiet she was as a baby. She never cried and hardly made any noise beyond that. She sounded like a little angel. So we named her as such."

Propaganda for the lovely lady Tannufia!

Tannufia tis Candin is a woman of Silen Fah - the other world that our heroes get "Narnia-ed" into. Her race, the Jelturen, are known for having any color imaginable on their heads, but she has been blessed with the unique trait of having all the colors at once, naturally. (And her name literally translates to "rainbow" because of this.) She is the younger daughter of a couple of unicorn hunters (not nearly as violent as it sounds), and so spent her childhood for the most part in the deep forest, living in a tent with her parents and her older sister, Vixie. She consequently has a lot of survival skills, and knowledge about the flora and fauna of her land - and, on more than one occasion, has even had the rare opportunity to see a cloud of fairies. (Or "ien" as they are called here.)

When Tannufia was a young woman, the first known case of a human arrival occurred, and she met her future husband, Ryan. Ryan was a cowboy from the 1800s (time travel yayyy), rough around the edges, but very gentlemanly, and in spite of a language barrier, it didn't take much time for her to fall head over heels. She now lives as a happily married stay-at-home-wife... and mother, to their little daughter Trajeda (and Madeline, another human whom Ryan adopted). She spends most of her time tending to the girls, weeding the garden, looking for eggs, and cooking up wonderful meals for her family. Well, them, and the frequent and numerous guests that come to their home. When a new crew of humans show up at the beginning of Book One, she and Ryan take them in while they're getting their bearings in this new world. Ryan learned to speak her language, Flunibu, but he's also taught her a bit of English and she puts this to good use then! It's a little broken and she has a very thick southern accent (like Ryan), making her way of speaking the most unique out of the whole cast, probably - at least when she's using English. She may not be the main character, but she is a vital part of their team and gives them a peaceful place to regroup after their adventures.

Having listened to the Graphic Audio full-cast audobook for All Systems Red, it was fun but I have some thoughts about the voice acting and direction. So now I’m just daydreaming about “if I had Billionaire Money I would buy the audio rights to TMBD and direct and produce another full cast audio version with voice actors handpicked and paid lavishly by Me.”

Murderbot: Kevin R. Free is the voice of Murderbot to a lot of people. I would think very hard about this but it would be a foundational return to form. However I feel like I want to reach out and find a non-binary VA because it's a niche that's been tragically underrepresented in Murderbot VAs. I joked before about Vico Ortiz playing live-action Murderbot but do they want to try their hand at voice acting?

Mensah: Cecilia Lynn-Jacobs. Voices Captain Lovelace on Wolf 359. Has incredible talent and range and does the Intrepid Galactic Explorer so well.

Pin-Lee: Emily Woo Zeller. An audiobook narrator I've consistently liked.

Ratthi: Stephen Dookie. He plays the part of Polites in Epic: The Musical and he's excellent in a very sweet, upbeat, friendly way.

Gurathin: Sungwon "ProZD" Cho. I'm picturing somewhere in the range of his Miles Edgeworth voice for this.

Arada: Michelle "Vixy" Dockrey. She's a singer not a VA but her voice sounds so nice.

Overse: Tanja Milojevic. Her range is incredible.

Bharadwaj: Rukhmani Desai (Captain Tripathi, The Strange Case of Starship Iris. She has that calm, reasonable, rational, desperately kind character voice she plays well in Starship Iris that I think would go well for Bharadwaj)

Vixie vanshier (van-shy-er) was born in September 22 1900 <little fact I give all my ocs the same birthday as me so I can remeber> her family owned a plot of land in Oregon containing forms of animals. Her father James vanshier, was the owner of this land. One day mountain lions killed off a huge majority of there livestock, so since his wife marry vanshire was bed ridden with illness he taught vix how to shoot. She was well with a shot gun being a small female and only 9 but they could not keep up with the mountain lions so her father’s last resort was to move to Louisiana and become a railroader.

Vixie soon attended school and was a smart kid, her acidemic score impressed a lot of people, but there is one thing she could not get right… sewing class. One day she sat on the playground trying to mend a pice of fabric together. Even though she was a good shot she could not for the life of her get her hands to straighten out. She looked up to see a boy snickering at her and this boy was Alastor, his mom taught him a trick for mending things. (I imagine he had too a lot because he seems like the kid to go outside and climb trees and shit.) they’ve been friends ever since!

In her early 20s she became a singer/songwriter for a pub, tips sucked and her boss payed her Jack shit so she quit. She worked hard, she wrote sonnets, poets, and even her own songs. That’s when she met mimzy. Mimzy offers her a deal of a lifetime to sing her songs and be on stage. Vixie said yes exited for her new life. Alastor and her are still together and when she tells him this he just rolls his eyes. Anyways after a couple more months together they got straight into marriage no dateing none of that… CRAZY RIGHT!

Nie time for the Angsty bit.

One day she came home to find Alastor coverd in blood knife in hand, she loved too much for her soul, she loved Alastor. So she kissed him on the cheek saying “all will be ok” and went to bed with her husband. Now you might be wondering “how and why is she in hell.” Well you see mimzy would not let her quit, 1 aka him was banned so any forms of good tips where gone and 2 mimzy essentially gone bankrupt so paying her was out of the question. Vixie did want to quit but mimzy manipulated her saying “I got you up on your feet.” Or “your the reason why we gone bad!” But ofc vixie loves to deep and stayed. Until she came home crying and exhausted. Alastor was furious so he said “we will take care of this.” The we is what freaked her. Anyways mimzy died to her hands and not his.

When Alastor died that’s when all hell broke lose, she did not want her husband, her poet, her LIFE be viewed as bad. So she continued to kill in her husbands name. She killed the wrong person. She killed a cult member who hunted and killed widowed woman. Naturally she was kidnapped and dragged out of her home only to be caged and smelt by hounds. She once thought they spared her until a horn blew. Dogs smelled her scent as men on horses and shot gun fallowed and chased her. She got caught in a snare and could not get out for her adrenaline was rushing, so she could not think. That’s when she met the eyes of a man, that man was the son of whom she killed. She looked at the sky to only be then shot in the throat.

Ending up in hell she instantly gained popularity with her music. Essentially became a music overloard. She had more influence than Alastor and vox just due to how diverse music was. Oh and don’t use anything of her without her permission or consequences. anyways it took over half a decade to realize the radio demon is her Alastor. And when the Vs came along that’s when her power/infuence really grew. She kept up with modern times so she could keep being this overloard and respected her husbands wishes at the same time.

Anyways that all I got atm hun, I changed her a lot since the pilot and still need to write her story.

2. Anything you'd like to write but feel you're unable to?

I have original offline pieces of writing that I know I'm going to write, but I'm not ready yet--I don't have the skills to convey the story I want to express and I have not lived enough life to do so yet. With fanfic, no, lol, fanfic allows me a freedom of true whateverIfeellikeatanygivenmoment.

4. Do you have any OC'S? Do you have a story for them?

I usually do have OC's, like Eddie's cousin Lindsay from KSPAO. Most everyone has cousins, but I think cousinhood is a stronger bond if you grew up poor and I wanted to convey that kind of friendship.

Mrs. Hartke from my play series was almost completely based off my high school lit and drama teacher, Mrs. Staude, to the point I sometimes wish I'd used her name so I could send her the fic. I hate reading slow burn, so all slow is TOO SLOW. I like a FAST BURN, especially when the physical stuff happens immediately and the emotional resolution is slow.

note: sorry for not posting this, i had forgotten about this little oneshot series while doing schoolwork and being engrossed in the 4.0 genshin impact update.

satan was furious even after the first day when you disappeared, it only grew worse as time passed. satan tried to contain his anger for the longest time, but he just pushed it down until it exploded causing massive damage and problems.

satan was then treated like he used to be treated when he was first born and was chained up and shoved into his room to calm down. that’s where satan spent most of his days, chained in his room rereading whatever books he had inside his room.

satan avoided romance novels and mystery novels, some of his favorite types of books because they reminded him so much of you. how you and him would sit cuddled close in the library reading together or him reading to you. those memories sent satan into a rage, but the rage was more fueled by his sadness than anything.

satan misses you, he felt like the moment you went missing, the moment your pact with him severed that he lost a part of himself, like another part of who he was, was just gone now. satan didn’t understand it at first, it was another unfamiliar and indescribable feeling to him, now he does understand it; you made satan more into who he was and now that you were gone from his life, that piece of him was gone.

satan wishes for you to come back to him, to release him from these chains that were put back on him because of his wrath. satan wants you to come back home to him, to hug him and tell him everything is going to be okay. satan wants to see your caring and loving gaze again.

satan wants the days of you resting your head against him in the library while he read softly to you. satan wants the days where you would join him with a prank against lucifer, or the days where you would scold him if the prank was a tad bit too harsh or got someone else hurt instead of lucifer.

satan misses you, and even the effects you had on him and his brothers that were slowly disappearing more and more the longer you’re gone from their lives. satan begs for you to come home, he feels lonely and broken without you, however at the same time he hopes you’re safe wherever you were taken too.

Anthony edits all of the PDP shows in conjuction with Vixie Belle, who does the final color, effects, and polish passes. Anthony is an integral part of the team, carefully selecting and cutting together the show in a way that tells the story the table is trying to tell in a way that makes sense for the audience.

Tavern Keeper: What has your experience been like working on an actual play ttrpg show?

Anthony: Working on an actual play TTRPG has been a lot of fun and an eye opening experience for sure, given that it's something I've always wanted to dip my toes into as a player but never found the chance to. To me, it's a whole like watching an improv show with a Television-quality story - and that's awesome.

TK: What would you say are some key differences between an actual play and tv shows or web series?

Anthony: For one, you've got to use your imagination, whether you are a player, audience member, or the guy behind the keyboard watching it all in post. On television, what you see is what you get, yet in a TTRPG, what you see can shift at any moment, as we're all playing a part in the story.

TK: Tell us about your experience before becoming an editor at the Pocket Dragon Pub.

Anthony: Before becoming an editor at the Pocket Dragon Pub, I spent my time bouncing between AD work on-set or freelance editing work, and another period on-stage in the music industry. Doing all that has given me a 360-degree view of creating content, media, and what makes for an entertaining show, which has proven to be an invaluable gift of experience.

TK: What would you say is your greatest challenge when editing?

Anthony: The greatest challenge when editing is not to figure out what to cut, but what NOT to cut. Interactions that go off the rails sometimes must be cut for time and brevity's sake, but on special occasions, the energy and laughter shared is so electric that it must be left in. It reminds me of the best times riffing with friends, which is why many come to see a live show in the first place.

TK: Do you have a favorite moment from any of the shows you've edited so far?

Anthony: Any moment that somebody decides to do a "voice" for their character and stick to it for the entirety of the run gets a vote of "love it" from me.

TK: What episode would you recommend to someone who wants to start watching episodes of the Pocket Dragon Pub?

Anthony: I feel like the Northern Lights One-Shot has the best balance of personal interplay, plot, and improvised fun that could give a new viewer the right impression for what TTRPGs at Pocket Dragon Pub is all about.

TK: Is there anything else that you'd like to add?

Anthony: Thank you for the great times!
