Goodal vita c toner (started using it this year and honestly i really really like it)

torriden dive in serum or mamonde red energy (i think i like mamonde more but i temporarily switched to torriden) 

and then cosrx nourshing rice overnight spa mask!

recently helen gave me this cream skin mist from la neige and i’ve been using that to refresh my skin before bed since i usually do my night routine like a good 4 hours before though, and i really like it so far!

Il profumo per me…Mi piacciono molti profumi diversi, spesso dipende dal mio umore; per il giorno adoro i profumi con un sottotono legnoso e terroso, spesso mi ritrovo attratto da profumi unisex o mascolino, perché amo la giustapposizione di profumi maschili e stile femminile. Tuttavia, adoro anche i profumi di frutta e floreali. Per la notte, amo qualcosa di più intenso con una nota ricca e opulenta.

Profumo preferito. Recentemente ho scoperto Le Labo e ho acquistato il loro discovery set. Mi sono innamorata di Neroli 36; un caldo profumo floreale perfetto per le giornate di sole. La combinazione di muschio, mandarino, gelsomino e vaniglia lascia un velo perfettamente equilibrato di note terrene e dolci. Amo anche Le Labo Santal 33; la fragranza femminile maschile perfetta. La base in legno di sandalo muschiato mi ricorda i caminetti aperti e la pelle vintage, ma le delicate note dolci di viola e cardamomo gli impediscono di essere troppo virile. Adoro Jo Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin super agrumato senza essere troppo dolce, amo anche English Pear and Fresia (ho la crema per il corpo). Il mio profumo serale preferito è YSL Black opium: è intenso e lussuoso con un sottotono dolce alla vaniglia..

La mia casa profuma di…Adoro le candele e i diffusori. Diptyque offre una vasta gamma di profumi, ma il prezzo elevato spesso mi porta a cercare alternative più economiche. Al momento sto provando alcuni diffusori e candele del supermercato inglese Aldi che hanno un odore molto simile e sono anche abbordabili.

Rossetto preferito. Non amo i rossetti, li indosso solo nelle occasioni speciali. In questo caso uso una matita per le labbra e il rossetto di Charlotte Tilbury. Uso ogni giorno invece Dior Lip Sugar Scrub perché adoro avere le labbra morbide e idratate.

I miei prodotti di makeup preferiti. Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue ha una copertura leggera, lo uso perché non nasconde le mie lentiggini, che amo, in più ha l’SPF. Di solito lo applico con una spugnetta umida in quanto dà un finale più impeccabile ma rugiadoso. Applico spesso un correttore sotto gli occhi (YSL Touche Éclait concealer) che copre e ha un effetto schiarente. Per le ciglia scelgo mascara di brand commerciali perché sono efficaci ma anche convenienti; Maybelline Great Lash o più recentemente L’Oreal Paradise Extatic. Uso anche il Siero CC Brightening Cellular By Bright di By Terry quando voglio una finitura super glowy.

Non potrei mai vivere senza…The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid Emulsion 2% ha cambiato la mia pelle, perché aiuta a tenere a bada l’acne dopo anni di lotta. Ora sono sulla trentina e sento di aver finalmente trovato una routine che funziona per me. Ho provato ad usare altri prodotti retinolo ma non hanno funzionato. Questa formula è abbastanza idratante ma anche molto efficace. L’ho riacquistato più volte e ho sempre un ricambio nel mio cassetto per ogni evenienza!

Un disastro beauty. Strapparmi le sopracciglia negli anni ’90! Ora uso il siero Rapidbrow per farle crescere e poi le coloro con il kit Eyelure Dye in marrone. È il mio più grande rimpianto beauty … Per le sopracciglia uso anche Glossier’s BoyBrow in Brown per una definizione in più.

I prodotti per la cura della pelle che sto usando. Comincio pulendo la pelle con un’acqua micellare – ho provato la doppia pulizia in passato con un detergente wash off, ma sembrava asciugare i miei oli naturali e causare brekouts. Uso l’acqua micellare di Garnier che rimuove il trucco e lo sporco ma è abbastanza delicata sulla mia pelle. Uso poi un toner antiage di Skinceuticals che agisce sui pori dilatati riduce i breakouts. Ogni notte utilizzo l’acido glicolico Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme, sono piccoli pad brillanti e super efficaci. Mi sveglio con un viso super luminoso. Poi uso il Dermarol (7 giorni su 7 giorni con rullo Swiss Clinic 0.5mm, seguito dal loro siero contenente peptidi e acidi). E’ stato un punto di svolta per me e fa miracoli sulla mie cicatrici da acne e tono della pelle irregolare. Il mio ultimo passaggio è Granactive Retinol 2% di The Ordinary (come ho detto prima) e infine un idratante e antiage di Algenist per il contorno occhi, perché ho letto spesso che le creme specifiche per il contorno occhi non sono più efficaci di un anti-age per il viso. Nelle settimane in cui non uso il dermarolling uso un il rullo facciale di Nurse Jamie. Durante il giorno la mia unico altro prodotto è di Omorovicza. Il loro siero di perfezionamento istantaneo rende la mia pelle più liscia e appare impeccabile. Una volta a settimana applico una maschera, ho scoperto di recente The Ordinary AHA BHA Peeling Solution. Nonostante ciò che suggerisce il nome, non è coinvolto alcun peeling, ma lascia la mia pelle molto fresca e rimpolpata.

La mia pelle è…. grassa e incline all’acne. Ho un tono della pelle non uniforme e recentemente la mia pelle ha perso elasticità a causa dell’età e della perdita di peso.

Per i miei capelli amo. Tendo talvolta a trascurare i miei capelli. Uso shampoo, balsamo e un protettore di calore. Dopo anni di bayalage cerco di evitare di usare troppi prodotti e di mantenerli il più naturali possibile.

Per il corpo uso… Questa è un’area in cui va finire parte del mio stipendio!! Quando sarò più grande, dovrò lavorare di più per mantenere la pelle e il corpo belli!! Il mio brand di body care preferito è Rodial. Ho usato i loro prodotti per il corpo per anni e sono incredibilmente potenti ed efficaci. Recentemente invece di acquistare la mia solita crema per il corpo SuperFit Size Zero ho scelto una versione più economica della loro consociata Nip & Fab (BodySlim Fix). Ha un ottimo prezzo, ma sono così entusiasta dei risultati che vedo con le creme di Rodial che la riacquisterò a breve. Uso anche la loro crema Boobjob per dare un pò di tono al seno e mantenere la pelle nelle migliori condizioni possibili. Contiene acido ialuronico e da un effetto rimpolpante perfetto per chi ha poco seno come me! Esfolio regolarmente la pelle del corpo e ho diversi scrub, esfoliare aiuta ad aumentare l’abbronzatura finta (uso regolarmente auto abbronzanti perché sono così pallida!) e ad uniformare il tono della pelle. Sono ossessionata dalla mousse d’acqua e face mist St Tropez Bronzing – la uso da tempo e amo il fatto che non lascia macchie sulle lenzuola e sui vestiti è un tale. Ha anche un odore così fruttato! Nonostante abbia sofferto di pelle grassa ho recentemente iniziato a usare The Revitalizing Oil di Darphin sul mio corpo: è un ottimo idratante non blocca i pori e lascia la mia pelle liscia come la seta. Se voglio un pò di colore, uso lo Shimmering Body Oil NARS sulle braccia, gambe e collo. Ho sempre la crema idratante alla mandorla L’Occitane nella mia borsa; è perfetto per le mani quando sono in giro e l’odore è delizioso.

Una mania beauty. Il dermarolling !! Molte persone sono piuttosto dubbiose su di esso. Il segreto é acquistarlo da un brand noto (non è consigliabile acquistarlo da Amazon o Ebay soprattutto se si è nuovi ad esso) che vi fornirà istruzioni, gli strumenti di pulizia appropriati e un buon siero appositamente progettato per essere utilizzato dopo averlo usato. È un po ‘doloroso sulle zone ossee o delicate del viso (fronte e intorno al naso per esempio), ma i risultati valgono il disagio. Ho appena scritto un post sul mio blog tutto sulla mia esperienza di dermarolling..

Un nuovo brand o prodotto, che ho scoperto negli ultimi mesi, che mi ha sorpreso positivamente, e che consiglio di provare. Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield (SPF 30). Non solo funziona immediatamente per ridurre la dimensione dei pori, ma ha anche benefici a lungo termine. È anche un ottimo primer e lascia la pelle liscia e vellutata. Murad Skincare sta diventando uno dei miei brand preferiti. Ho avuto un tester della loro gamma di vitamina C, l’ho trovato incredibile, è sulla mia lista di cose da comprare!

Online mi documento su…  Sono ossessionata da YouTube; Lo guardo più di ogni altra cosa! Caroline Hirons e Nadine Baggott sono le preferite – ho imparato tanto sull’anti-invecchiamento e sulla comprensione degli ingredienti che ora posso prendere decisioni più consapevoli sui miei acquisti, dopo tutto la cura della pelle è costosa e voglio spendere saggiamente. Gli account Instagram che seguo sono prevalentemente di moda o di fotografia; ce ne sono uno o due che hanno un elemento di bellezza come Lydia Elise Millen per esempio – ho provato così tanti prodotti fantastici basandomi sui suoi consigli tra cui il kit per la dermarolling Swiss Clinic e il siero CC ByTerry.

Tra comprare in profumeria oppure online preferisco…. Vivendo in Galles i department stores sono piuttosto limitati in termini di disponibilità di marchi di nicchia che preferisco, quindi spesso finisco per acquistare online. Quando sono a Londra vado sempre da Selfridges e Liberty per i profumi, perché hanno una vasta gamma di marchi di nicchia e eccentrici, così come i negozi Jo Malone sono semplicemente fantastici, e hanno un servizio meraviglioso, ma quando non trovo il profumo che cerco lo acquisto online.

I miei siti di shopping online preferiti sono…CultBeauty, Net-a-porter e Selfridges. Quando sono alla ricerca di più marchi più commerciali vado su Allbeauty.com, Feelunique.com e lookfantastic.com per controllare offerte speciali, sconti e offerte.

Un rituale prima di andare a letto. Cerco di visualizzare qualcosa di positivo prima di andare a letto per mantenere la mia felicità e il mio benessere. Se c’è qualcosa in particolare che mi rende ansioso trascorro 10 minuti a immaginare qualcosa di bello così riesco a sentirmi bene. È una tecnica potente ma richiede pratica. Spesso spruzzo il cuscino con olio di lavanda che aiuta a rilassarmi.

La mia bevanda detox preferita. Acqua! Sempre! Trovo spesso che le bevande detox hanno zucchero non necessario, e extra artificiali, quindi bevo acqua. Porto sempre con me una bottiglia da 1,5 litri in modo da avere i miei 3 litri al giorno in me!

L’argomento che mi attrae di più su bellezza e benessere. L’anti-age è una grande area di interesse per me, probabilmente perché è la mia più grande preoccupazione in questo momento. Sono affascinata da ingredienti e formule e mi piace capire come aiutare la mia pelle. Ma c’è un altro aspetto: nella mia esperienza, il modo in cui ci sentiamo e quello che pensiamo su noi stessi ha un enorme impatto sul nostro benessere generale e sulla nostra felicità, e può sminuire il nostro successo e godimento nella vita. Mi piace imparare diverse tecniche per aumentare i livelli di benessere, che si tratti di consapevolezza, yoga, conoscenze dietetiche o psicologia positiva. Quando non ci sentiamo felici, notiamo di più difetti o cose che vorremmo cambiare della nostra persona e questo può portare a spendere soldi per trattamenti costosi e diventare davvero bloccati concentrandoci su come ci confrontiamo con gli altri. La psicologia del benessere e il modo in cui questo influisce sulle nostre scelte di spesa mi affascina soprattutto nell’area Beauty. Più felici saremo e meno sentiremo il bisogno di cambiare noi stessi – Questo è un work in progress per me!

Cosa faccio per mantenermi in forma. La mia motivazione varia! Quando sono dell’umore faccio allenamento HIIT o nuoto. Al momento sono in una fase “non fare nulla”, ma occasionalmente mi dedico allo yoga, ma più per scopi di relax che per il fitness. Questo è solo un bonus aggiuntivo, credo!

Dieta o non dieta.  Da tempo immemorabile seguo una dieta a basso contenuto di carboidrati. Trovo che i carboidrati mi fanno sentire gonfia, stanca e riducono le mie energie … quindi quando ho scoperto il movimento chetogenico non è stato un grande salto per me davvero. La più grande sfida per me è stata la riduzione dello zucchero: sono molto dipendente da esso e considerando che riduce il collagene (qualcosa su cui mi sto concentrando di più ora che sto invecchiando e le mie riserve di collagene stanno diminuendo) ho cercato il modo di poterne fare a meno. Ora dopo un certo numero di mesi trovo di avere più energia e di sentirmi meglio. Non volevo perdere peso ma  é stato importante capire come funziona la Ketogenic e comprendere appieno anche i miei macro. Ho anche eliminato il latte da gennaio, attualmente sono ossessionata dal latte di cocco! Questo ha davvero aiutato anche la mia acne cistica ormonale.

Come mi rilasso.  Con lo yoga, è ottimo per rilassarsi, le tecniche di respirazione sono tra le mie preferite anche se sto lottando per lasciarmi andare. Ascolto anche sessioni di rilassamento su YouTube o podcast. Adoro camminare e fotografare la fauna selvatica (insetti come le libellule e le farfalle sono i preferiti!). Sono così inafferrabili che mi danno un vero senso di realizzazione se riesco a catturarli sulla fotocamera. La vita è fatta di equilibri quindi mi godo le serate fuori con le amiche o un bicchiere di vino rosso a casa, di solito in giardino se fa caldo. Sono molto fortunata a vivere in una splendida zona del Galles circondata da campi ondulati, splendide coste e natura meravigliosa, quindi il mio giardino è sicuramente un santuario per il relax.

Repêchage Hydra Medic line deep cleanses the pores and gently exfoliates to remove excess buildup. It will help prevent the shiny appearance while not over drying the skin. Use the cleanser, astringent, and mattifying moisturizer twice daily.

The Repêchage Hydra Medic Sea Mud Mask is great to use twice a week to help cleanse the pores and absorb excess oil. Oily skin does need moisturized twice a day with the correct type of moisturizer. If no moisturizer is used, the oil glands will over produce trying to make up for the lack of moisture on the skin. The Mattifying Moisturizer is great for drying up any excess oil while still providing the skin with moisture.

Dry Skin

Skin that appears course, tight, and dull in color with fine lines is characteristics of dry skin. The Repêchage Hydra Dew line is great for creating dewy skin. Aging Skin

I’m still waiting for the mood to work to magically strike me, so, for procrastination, here’s my current skincare routine, winter 2017/18.

I’ve got combination skin that leans dry in the winter, main concerns are aging, sensitivities and allergies, wanting an even skintone without excessive redness, and I’d like some pores on my nose to appear smaller.

AM routine:

Dab off the oil my T-zone has spewed overnight with a tissue (such glamour). Wake-up rinse: rubbing 2 ice cubes over my face until they melt. Wipe with Cattier Rosée Florale Soothing Beauty Lotion on a cotton pad (this completes morning cleansing; when I used to wash my face with a foaming cleanser in the mornings, my skin got so dry I developed random patches of eczema). Mist with Avène thermal water spray and do a little facial massage. 

Then, some nice layers of light, hydrating things with useful ingredients:

Hada Labo Gokujyun Clear Lotion hydrating toner (full of hyaluronic acid, reasonably priced and effective),

CosRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence (niacinamide & ferments),

Berrisom Collagen Intensive Firming Essence (peptides & collagen),

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% & Zinc 2% on T-zone (newest introduction, so far, it has noticeably reduced redness and evened my skin tone, which I like a lot. Hoping it’ll gradually help diminish pores, too).

A sheet mask (about 3 times per week) or leftover sheet mask essence, if there’s any. Current stash is Banobagi Vita Genic Hydrating and Relaxing (blue and green), Tosowoong Pure Green Tea and Velvizo Lifting Renewal. I’ve got some more in the mail. 

Su:m37 Flawless Regenerating Eye Cream (deluxe stuff I cannot afford, but I’ve got a stash of samples from TesterKorea, I find this pleasantly rich and firming).

The Face Shop Mango Seed Silk Moisturizing Facial Butter (pleasant texture, does not pill, effective at moisturizing, and the finish isn’t too shiny).

Ricinus oil on lashes most days. Nope, not bothering with sunscreen this time of year, seeing as I am barely awake in time to see any of the “daylight”, nvm leaving the house before dark. Maybe in February.  

PM routine:

Lumene Lähde Pure Arctic Miracle 3-in-1 Micellar Water on a cotton pad, if I wore make-up and need to remove mascara; or Etude House Real Art Mild Cleansing Oil, if not.

Cattier Nuage Céleste cleansing foam (low pH, reasonably priced, pleasant to use.)

Next slot is actives: vit C, AHA and BHA, I try to use each 1x per week. All as wash-off treatments: leaving them on, while technically possible, hasn’t done me any favours.

Vitamin C Serum options are Let's Cure C-Ster High Performance powder (diluted with water to apply), or The Ordinary Vit C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres (this leaves a film that is such a hassle to remove).

BHA: CosRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid, followed by Cattier yellow clay mask. (I try to remember to do a separate weekly application or two on my nose only, to dissolve dark sebaceous filaments & clean pores.)

AHA: CosRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid. (For smoother skin texture.)

I also might do a wash-off mask in the shower 1-2x per week: currently the only, but very good option is Green People Vita Min Mask. About every 3-4 weeks, I might feel like a bit of physical exfoliation as well, that’s when Dr.G Brightening Peeling Gel comes in handy.

After shower/before bed: Avène thermal water spray, and another spray with Cattier Rosée Florale Soothing Beauty Lotion. Then, all the nice, light hydrating layers again: Hada Labo Gokujyun Clear Lotion, CosRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence, Berrisom Collagen Intensive Firming Essence, The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% & Zinc 2%, and either leftover sheet mask essence, or Su:m37 Flawless Regenerating Essence (again, samples, but this is lovely too, and I’d buy full size if I had the funds).

Then, Su:m37 Flawless Regenerating Eye Cream. For night cream, I’m currently alternating nightly between Lumene SOS cream (discontinued, but I've got a stash) and Avène Eluage Cream with retinaldehyde. (I am using up my last tube, then switching to The Ordinary Granactive retinoid 2% emulsion for that retinol fix - Avène has been fine, but currently the price and availability are an issue for me, and TO is supposedly more effective, too).

I've got The Ordinary Rosehip oil on standby, and need to do some testing to figure out where to put it in my routine (before night cream probably, but need to see if this causes any pilling/absorption issues). I’ve also reordered 2 good, versatile night/day creams, so there will be some variety, and I’m planning to switch to a lighter day cream in April or May.
