Hello, my name is Israa, and I am from Gaza.
I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support in reaching my campaign goal. Every single share and donation makes a difference in helping my family stay safe.
I am trying to evacuate my family from Gaza, where people are dying of starvation and disease. Gaza is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis that is only getting worse.
I have been unable to find any page that can support me, so I am sharing my campaign here in the hopes that you will be able to help.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
https://gofund.me/345e1bc0
Absolutely!!
this campaign has been verified by el-shab-hussein and nabulsi (line 236 of the masterfile) and has received $1,651 of its $48,000 goal.
Mohammed is trying to help evacuate his family. his father suffers from heart disease, and their home has been compromised by damage.
All donations will fund this family’s travel costs to Egypt ($6,000 per person) to allow them to leave Gaza. Then, they must stay at least two months in Egypt for a Canadian visa and cover the living expenses in Egypt. After that, they need a plane ticket to travel to Canada.
please find their gfm here:
I implore you to share and to donate if possible.

Mordor says He returned only for Visa reasons. They did some math and understood that Sam had been there for almost 90 days, só It was time for a quick walk home.
Dear Visa Anon,
Which Mordor luminary came with this idea? The MENSA-level CRT Clique or Miss Marple, who thinks I know nothing (the Dimwit from Madrid is still learning how to spell, so I can't believe it's her)?
Regardless. These people should immediately stop watching Ninety-Day Fiancé on their cable network, following a severe overdose on Uzbek midgets and Egyptian gigolos 'looking for true love' stories.
Maybe they could also have checked their facts before solemnly stating bullshit, since they clearly think all the visitors to the wonderful U S of A are tourists and as such, entitled to a maximum 90-day stay at a time (and then a short hike to Tijuana or Canada and back on tracks: not EDI/GLA, FFS!).
Incidentally, may I remind these geniuses that S has been spotted only near EDI, which of course would mean for them he'd be getting his visa there. Unless...
Unless you know the US General Consulate in EDI does not issue any type of visas - LOL, idiots. And unless he'd need to be in LHR for the pre-appointed interview and then another 7 working days delay for processing and 1-3 working days for passport delivery by mail only (never in person, chickadees). Doesn't really click with timelines, Madam Expert.
Because they are all very intelligent, they also forgot everything about/never bothered to look for the new-ish ESTA system (https://www.handyvisas.com/esta-us-visa/british/), especially designed for Visa Waiver countries' citizens. So I insist: if traveling as a tourist, S does not need a visa to enter the US for up to 90 days - that is correct, but by no means applicable to S's reality. And if he knew he'd need to stay more than 90 days, he would have applied for a visa - mandatory - in London before the Summer of Sassenach tour.
But he is not traveling as a tourist and very probably not under another type of non-immigrant visa, simply because he has businesses there and he is also involved in the OL project with *** (d'oh!).
Let's unpack:
As per US current regulations, S cannot apply for a B-1 (business non immigrant visa). To understand why, kindly refer to the US Customs and Border Protection FAQ (https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/documents/B-1%20permissible%20activities.pdf). I already munched it up for you:
He could only apply for a O-1 B immigration visa, for which his agent or employer should mandatorily petition the US Citizenship and Immigration Services. These are special visas designed for the individual who (...) has a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry and has been recognized nationally or internationally for those achievements. This is very subjective and a contract with * should be enough - I was in a taxi when I received your ask and immediately checked with a friend from the US Consulate, to indulge you. And all this hassle just because a Tumblr Nobody has flatulent opinions, huh?
According to the USCIS's own regulations, not Dutch fantasy or Belfast sagas, the authorized period of stay and possibility of extension are as follows (https://www.uscis.gov/working-in-the-united-states/temporary-workers/o-1-visa-individuals-with-extraordinary-ability-or-achievement):
The good thing about getting this visa (and I think * sorted it out a long time ago for both of them) is that it helps tremendously with the Green Card procedures, something I bet the farm both S & C already have, by now.
So doing the maths was perfectly inane and useless.
Does that answer your question, clever Anon? Can I go back to the Quaich post I must finish (it will be VERY long, beware) today?
Thanks for asking and I am sorry for the length: this fandom being paranoid, I had to include all the tedious details. I hope we can put this idiocy to rest, now. Parochial twits.

its the trans us american anon from the other night; id first of all like to thank everyone who answered my previous ask. ive been thinking about going to college in canada (more specifically toronto) for a bit but havent looked into it as much as i probably should have, but based on a lot of the answers it sounds like it would be very financially straining. that being said, would anyone happen to know if it would be easier to immigrate with a student visa?
International Student tuition is higher in Canada compared to rates for Canadians, but American university tuition is a lot higher than Canada, so depending on the university you're looking for it might actually be significantly cheaper.
The University I went to, tuition is on average around $4500 for an undergraduate degree per year, and for International students is about $8500 per year. But the average tuition in the USA seems to range from $10k to 40K depending on if its public/private. The bigger universities in Canada have higher tuition but there are many medium sized ones of good reputation that are not very expensive.
This might be worth looking into as for your 2nd point:

Dear humanity
I am Ahmed from Gaza. I am married and have three children: Jumana, 8 years old, Suhad, 6 years old, and Muhammad, 3 years old. Although they are young, they have survived previous wars, but this current war is the most difficult because I am not with them and cannot provide water, food or a safe place.
Our lives changed on October 7, when my children were home with their mother. The sounds of bombing were getting louder everywhere, and with every missile strike, my children’s bodies were shaking. My wife and children left our house in a hurry and moved to another house, then to school. Later, our house was surrounded, burned and completely destroyed. It wasn't just the loss of our home, it was the loss of safety and security and our dreams, including those of our children. They destroyed our home and ruined years of our lives.
I also lost my job. Job opportunities in Gaza are extremely scarce due to the blockade that has been in place for more than 17 years.
Despite my persistent attempts and improving my skills through education and traininig, I was able to open an office for vocational education and training. But I lost my office after its infrastructure was destroyed. I also had a store that sold electronic games, and that was destroyed and burned as well. As a result, my family and I no longer have any way to earn a living. I went to Egypt before the war to take some courses for my business, but I am now stuck in Egypt while my children are with their mother in Gaza due to the closure of the road from Egypt to Gaza due to the war.
I have not seen my children for 8 months due to road closures, and I am desperately searching for a way to save them from the ravages of war. Being away from my children, I feel tremendous pressure and feel extremely responsible for every moment my children and wife spend in fear and devastation. I dream of bringing my children and my wife to Egypt to a safe place where I can build a better future for them, full of safety and hope. They deserve life in all its meanings, including comfort and peace.
I appeal to the whole world to hear my cry, the cry of my wife, and the cry of my children in Gaza. We need a helping hand to wipe away our tears and build a bridge of safety for us.
Perhaps this fundraising campaign represents a beacon of hope amidst the darkness. It is truly the only hope we cling to so strongly.
The aim of the fundraiser is to save my children by traveling to Egypt. Travel costs per person are $5,000, and I also need to cover transportation costs, renting a house in Egypt, and meeting my children's clothing, healthcare, and other humanitarian needs for several months up to a year.
Approximately $1,000 to cover GoFundMe transaction fees (%2.9+$0.30 per transaction)
To learn more about me, please visit my
TikTok account www.tiktok.com/@help.juju
Donations campaign details:
Travel fees for the mother = $5,000
For children: 3*2,500$=7,500$
Total travel fee = $12,500
Passport issuance fees = $1000
Visa fees for Canada and plane tickets for the family are $8,000
Accommodation in Egypt, including renting a house, buying clothes and toys for the children, entertaining them, and conducting a medical examination for the children to check on them. My family of four in Gaza and me alone in Egypt, we are all facing unimaginable challenges. To give us a chance for a better life, we are seeking to raise 58,000 Euros.
There are taxes on money in banks as well as on the crowdfunding fund (GoFundMe) which also has a percentage.

In light of nothing at all that is happening in the news this week, Americans might like to know that we're allowed entry to numerous countries without a visa. In Canada, Mexico, the UK, and some Caribbean nations, we're allowed for six months on just a passport. In most of Europe and South America, plus some of Asia, it's 90 days per country. Here's a the whole list with more! Because it's so fun to think about these things!
#it feels stupid to book housing after january rn like#i am usually booked way further out than this but like#it just seems foolish to make unrefundable deposits on rentals in a country that might elect a fascist dictator in two days#i think if trump wins I'm gonna finish the southwest road trip I wanted to do because that will only take a few months#and then fuck off to canada because I'm lucky and have the paperwork to get me tf out of here#worst case scenario I live in the woods in BC for four years. that's ok with me

Brazil Reinstates Visa Requirements for Travelers From the US, Canada, and Australia
In a return to pre-Bolsonaro precedent, the country establishes visa procedures based on reciprocity.
If you’re heading to Brazil in the new year, there’s an extra step to add to your to-do list. Beginning January 10, travelers from the United States, Canada, and Australia will need to acquire an e-visa in order to enter the country. Until then, citizens of these countries will be able to visit Brazil—for business as well as pleasure, per a press release—without these short-term visitor visas (so long as they are staying for no more than 90 days.)
The process for obtaining a visa will purportedly be a quick and easy one, although all that is known at this time is that applications and issuances will be handled entirely electronically. Procedures are still being finalized by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will provide additional details when available.

What is the requirement for family members visiting Canada on a visitor's visa? Do they need an invitation letter?
Title: Exploring Requirements for Family Members Visiting Canada on a Visitor's Visa
Introduction: Planning a visit to Canada with your family? It's important to be aware of the requirements for family members visiting on a visitor's visa. In this blog post, we will walk you through the essential requirements, including valid documentation, proof of funds, medical exams (if applicable), and the role of an invitation letter. Let's dive in!
Valid Passport and Visitor Visa: The first step in the process is ensuring that each family member has a valid passport. Check the expiry date and make sure it covers the duration of the intended stay. Additionally, obtaining a valid visitor visa is crucial, as it serves as official authorization for entry into Canada.
Proof of Sufficient Funds: To support themselves during their stay, family members must provide proof of sufficient funds. This requirement aims to ensure that visitors can cover their expenses without relying on public funds. Prepare financial documents, such as bank statements, to demonstrate the availability of necessary funds.
Medical Examination: Depending on the visitor's home country, a medical examination may be required. To determine if this applies to your situation, consult the Canadian government's official website or contact the relevant authorities. If necessary, undergo the medical examination as per the provided guidelines.
The Invitation Letter: Optional but Beneficial: While not mandatory, having an invitation letter can greatly facilitate the visa application process. The letter should be written by a sponsor residing in Canada, typically a family member or close relative. It confirms the sponsor's invitation and their commitment to financially support the visitor during their stay. Including the purpose of the visit and the intended duration can provide further context.
When crafting the invitation letter, make sure to include the following details:
Clearly state the purpose of the visit, whether it's for a family reunion, vacation, or other reasons.
Express responsibility for the visitor's financial support during their stay in Canada.
Provide the sponsor's contact information, including phone number and email address, to ensure effective communication with immigration officials if needed.
Conclusion: Planning a family visit to Canada requires careful attention to the necessary requirements. From valid passports and visitor visas to proof of funds and potential medical exams, ensuring compliance with these guidelines is essential. While an invitation letter is not obligatory, it can significantly enhance your visa application. Remember to provide all required documentation, and feel free to consult the Canadian government's official resources for detailed information tailored to your specific situation. Enjoy your time with your family in beautiful Canada!

Understanding New Work Rights for Canadian Student Visa Holders in 2024
In 2024, there are new updates to the work rights for international students in Canada. If you hold a student visa Canada allows, you can gain valuable work experience while you study. This guide breaks down what these changes mean for you and how they can impact your academic and career journey.
1. Overview of Canadian Work Rights for Students
Canada has always been supportive of students who want to work during their studies. This year, students are given more flexible options, making it easier to gain work experience. In 2024, full-time students enrolled in recognized institutions can work up to 20 hours per week during semesters and full-time during breaks.
For specific roles like internships or co-ops, you may need an additional work permit. However, Canada’s government has made it simpler for students to balance work and academics, aiming to enhance real-world skills and job readiness for graduates.
2. The Benefits of Gaining Work Experience
Working while you study offers many benefits. You can earn extra income, gain hands-on experience, and build a professional network in Canada. These opportunities help you understand the Canadian work culture, which can be invaluable for future job applications. Having Canadian work experience on your resume also improves your chances if you plan to stay in Canada after graduation.
For students in specific programs, like engineering or business, internships are often built into the curriculum, which allows you to apply classroom knowledge directly in real-world scenarios.
3. Why Study in Canada?
These flexible work options are one reason many students choose to study in Canada. Canada offers quality education, diverse communities, and numerous work opportunities. The country's welcoming approach to international students, combined with accessible work rights, makes it an ideal choice. Many students see Canada as a place to gain a world-class education while building a career.
Canada’s balanced lifestyle is another reason students find it attractive. The ability to work part-time allows you to gain financial independence while adjusting to a new culture. This work-study balance is a major factor in choosing Canada over other destinations.
4. Important Guidelines for Student Workers
To work while studying, students must meet certain conditions. Your visa must explicitly allow work, and you must be enrolled in a full-time program. If you exceed the 20-hour weekly limit during semesters, you risk violating your visa terms, which can lead to penalties. Be sure to track your hours and stay informed about your rights to avoid any issues.
In some cases, your program may require you to complete a co-op or internship, and this may call for an additional work permit. Speak with your institution's international student office for guidance, and consider reaching out to an overseas education consultancy if you need personalized advice.
Conclusion
Canada’s updated work rights for international students make studying and working easier and more beneficial than ever. With these new guidelines, you can gain valuable skills, earn income, and expand your professional network—all while completing your studies. By understanding and following these rules, you’ll maximize your time in Canada and make the most of your student experience.

RATING: MOSTLY RELIABLE
The statistic on Canada's cost threshold is outdated, as the threshold has since been increased to $24,057 per year. The information may be somewhat over simplified, but is generally correct.
Australia and New Zealand both deny visas on the basis of potential medical costs, including for autism.
Source: 'People seeking long-term visas for either country must undergo rigorous medical screening. Those who may pose a significant cost to the taxpayer over a period of five years — measured at about $45,000 in New Zealand and about $32,000 in Australia — or who have medical conditions considered especially costly have their visa applications denied. Having private health insurance makes no difference, and being born in either country does not confer automatic citizenship.
Across both countries, over 1,600 people are affected by the policies each year. People have been turned away with conditions as varied as autism, obesity, intellectual disability, lupus and multiple sclerosis.'
The US can deny visas on the basis of a mental or physical disorder only if there is 'harmful behaviour' associated with the disoder.
Source: 'Applicants who have physical or mental disorders and harmful behavior associated with those disorders are inadmissible. [2] The inadmissibility ground is divided into two subcategories:
Current physical or mental disorders, with associated harmful behavior.
Past physical or mental disorders, with associated harmful behavior that is likely to recur or lead to other harmful behavior.'
In the UK, anyone staying for more than 6 months require a medical examination, and can be denied for health issues that may prevent them from supporting themselves or require major treatment.
Source: 'The objective of the medical examination and recommendation is to prevent the entry of, or bring to notice, persons who if admitted to the UK might:
endanger the health of other persons in the UK; or
be unable for medical reasons to support themselves and or dependants in the UK; or
require major medical treatment (for which an entry clearance application has not been made).'
Canada changed their immigration laws in 2017, increasing the support needs threshold to $20,000, as stated in the video. The threshold has since been increased to $24,057 per year.
Source: 'As currently written, the law allows the government to deny residency to an entire family if even one person in the group has a disability or medical condition that could place “excessive demand” on Canada’s publicly funded health and social service systems – meaning it will cost more than $6,655 a year to care for them, a figure the government says was the average, per-capita health and social service spending in Canada in 2016.
But after Monday’s announcement, Canada will no longer consider certain costs when deciding if someone can come to Canada – such as special education costs for children with intellectual disabilities. The government said it will also triple the cost threshold for denying someone based on medical conditions to nearly $20,000 a year.'
It is difficult to provide any statistics on how many people disclose their autism during a visa application, so I cannot speak to the accuracy of this statement.
This is exactly what I mean when I say the society even more “progressive” societies are inherently ableist
