Imagine how fuckin hilarious it would be if Virgil was overprotective of Jericho.

Not like, in the sense of a demon and its host type of way - though he definitely claims it's just that - but in a kinda-sorta-maybe-pining-maybe-platonic type of deal. Like, Jericho coming out casually as agender and Virgil is WATCHING HEAVILY the whole time, sideying everyone in a hundred foot radius for so much as a twitch wrong. When Jericho gets a little more friendly, he's mildly jealous but also staring bc yeah ofc nobody is good enough for his host but if this bozo Hurts Him-

It's even worse when Jericho begins acquiring a crush. Personally, I think it's funniest to have Jericho crushing on Marius, especially given recent events where Mari point blank says he's gotten really fond of Virgil. Jericho is pining, Marius thinks Virgil could be a good ally/friend, and Virgil is on the OPPOSITE PAGE, PAL but he can't do anything to hurt this blond buffoon bc it would make his host upset.

Bonus points, Lethica very quickly picks up what's going on and is absolutely THRIVING on the drama.

Polycules can absolutely be a moon worshipping woman and her former sun worshipping blond knight, the knight's scarecrow bard boyfriend, and the bard's demonic soul roommate who may or may not be involved and refuses to answer when asked.

Briggsy is off to the side like "damn, these guys are fruity. I should text my boyfriend about this."

((Bonus, if Farryn and Yorgrim are still around, she and Virgil found the Jericho Protection Squad, which results in hog fuckin wild hijinks and later includes Adella. Yorgrim meanwhile may or may not ALSO catch some mild feelings across the party, but regardless of that, he definitely loves Jericho in some flavor - up for interpretation there. Romantic, platonic, familial - doesn't matter, this orc adores this anxious little twink. They all get matching shirts for the protection squad, but Yorgrims's fits like a torn crop top á la Gideon's Cake Chad shirt))

So ive gotten really into Edge of Midnight and i absolutely adore it. Especially Jericho, i love him. So i did some art of his fucked up beast >:-3

Episode 20, man, holy fuck

Jericho dying, and Virgil taking over for a little while (which, btw, HUGE props to Mikey for that entire scene. The clicking of the tongue to simulate the bird-ness of the demon, the change in voice, the seamless transition between Virgil and Jericho? How the fuck is this man not an actual voice actor)?

Marius drinking Lethica’s blood, and then being abandoned by his god when trying to heal Hugo?

Yorgrim’s fucking GRIEF over Anya. Mace’s description of how Yorgrim is feeling, as well as Nikkie’s additions was just fucking heart shattering. 1000/10 oh my god.

This episode was just incredible, story wise. I know I joke about how gross this campaign is, or how I may “hate” some certain moments, but I do genuinely adore this campaign. Tbh, it might be my favorite campaign so far (tho I’m also picking from Witchlight, Icebound, and EOM)

SPOILERS FOR BOTH BDW AND EOM BELOW THE CUT

So. I finally got answers on how Zurn became the weird gross crow. And it makes sense. But what's he up to now during EOM?

Because presumably the BDW party succeeds in at least stopping the end of the world because prime, EOM, and OUAW all take place in the future. And stopping the chained god was like his whole life's purpose. That and fucking Felixs mom I guess.

So what's Virgil up to, especially in the newer episodes trying to possess Jericho more frequently without him knowing? Why does he hate Jericho so much? Is he just so bitter and corrupted about what happened to him? Is he more demon now than man?

Also shout out Pazuzu for loving Irony. Man who worships Raven goddess turning into a crow? Man who hated devils/demons being turned into a demon? Man who was obsessed with secrets needing to literally consume them to survive? Absolutely hilarious. He may end the world but hats off to Pazuzu for his comedic genius

EoM update Pt. 1

My blocks of little reactions for other campaigns is put on hold for this one. I have so much I want to say about Edge of Midnight but its diffrent. I want to sit and just talk through the campaign and all my thoughts, not little silly posts but something in depth. This campaign is much more serious than the others I'd watched. Of course its got funny moments, some that have made me genuinely howl with laughter. But the thing is its just got me so invested and enthralled, a 10/10 campaign. The horror in it is amazing and Nikkie is so descriptive, I've nearly thrown up multiple times, but like its just really really *good* The friendships in this campaign are my favorite of any so far, the way Marius protects everyone and they all just kinda have a deep concern and care for each other. They all just decided when they met that they were all- well- in a sense, family. Everyone of their personalities I adore, they all just care about each other, even Briggsy LOL The characters themselves, even outside of that found family vibe, are all amazing. I could go on for a while about each of them. And I will. LETS START WITH THE PRETTY BOY. Marius. Marius is amazing, I'm usually not too keen on the "good boy paladin" i think the trope is usually boring. But god did Andy do it right. Marius is protective, brave, affectionate, and very set on his morals. He knows he's made mistakes and is SET on making it right and making sure his friends/family are safe and healthy. And more than that, strangers too. But he's not naive, he's anything but, especially because of his Vampire-esc nature. WHICH BY THE WAY IS MY FAVORITE PART OF HIS CHARACTER. The way Andy describes Marius's vampiric nature is so badass. And you can just FEEL the way Marius feels about it too. I love it. PRETTY LADY TIME Lethica. I love Lethica, she's cunning and beautiful and rather sly. You would think she'd be stoic, and while she *is*, she's also funny, sarcastic, passive aggressive, but also caring. She too cares deeply about those around her even if she doesn't show it as openly as Marius, but you can tell. I also love her goofy bag of holding, i know its evil but why make it so likeable??? ALSO (mild spoilers for episode 8) When Yorgrim gets his ass beat by Billy, her reaction was to rush over to him and gently place her hand on his arm. "Yorgrim.." She casted healing word with his name being the healing word. I don't know why but i LOVE that. Usually with these guys healing word is some goofy shit but she just softly says their name and I don't know I just LOVE THAT. Especially with her accent god i'm gay i love her she's hot anyways FREN SHAPED SCARECROW!! (and weird crow) Jericho. I love my lil tall baby boy scarecrow crow demon baby, and Virgil is here too ig. Jericho was the first character we met and good for it because I was attached to him imminently. He's so sweet and he just wants friends, and good thing Marius is there because they're laterally the best-est best friends I love their goofy dynamic. Jerichos songs are so silly and creative and I love them. His whole weird bird thing is also SUPER interesting, seeing Virgil take over was a huge change of pace and I wish it got touched on more. Give him hugs, he deserves them. PLEASE hug him. Virgil is goofy, tell him to stop being mean MORE TO COME I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THE OTHER THREE

Something silly and Info under cut

The force is a mysterious thing, we Jedi don’t dare try to understand it, only learn from it. The force takes many forms, in Jedi, in people, and in the galaxy itself; but there are beings who claim to be the force in its fullness, one such entity is Virgil. It is a being made of darkness and death, if you encounter Virgil there is no point in running it already has you.

Anyway Virgil is a force spirit of the dark side, he wreaked havoc on the galaxy for aeons before the force sages locked him away to contain his chaos. While he was contained he gathered which was basically a cult that worshipped him and dedicated their lives to freeing him, they where the ones to build the Jericho battle droids, and they begin a ritual to free Virgil. Once the force sages learned of what the cult was doing they tried to stop them best they could, and they basically succeeded, the cult was whipped out and Virgil was still trapped. Or that’s what they thought, Virgil did escape but was weakened form the decades of imprisonment, he had to inhabit a body. So he chose one of the battle droids who seemed to still be in decent working order. Now he’s trapped inside of Jericho and he finds much worse then where he was before.

Edge of Midnight spoilers ahead [29+] (as well as Beneath Dark Wings [33+])

Jericho still handles the idea of plurality so much better tho like omg the contrast is Jericho is the Host and Anxiety holder, Zurn gets to be the gatekeeper and protector and perhaps the original trauma holder and either way has Exomemories, and after Yorgrim's death you get a split into what may be true Raum, an anger and trauma holder, pr it could be a remant of Pazuzu, a factive introject of sorts in being a reforming from the demonic remants. Either way, Jericho has a lot less of the stereotypes of plurality while still being plural coded making Edge of Midnight a fucking amazing piece of plural representation. Case and point when the party came out of the barrows with Jericho and Zurn switching to handle a stressful situation, Zurn knows he has the repetoire and general demeanor to be of help and not be panicking, so he forces himself to the front to protect Jericho. The morally grey to good alligned high general from his last appearence in BDW returns fully to wrote his wrongs and overall this arc shows this but Zurn is more Zurn now than he is Raum and the Taroka card reading has Jericho mention something else, I assume the demonic essence Raum had, a split.

In contrast Torbek was originally implied to be schizophrenic coded, touching the subject lightly but never deeply. And then his reintroduction occured... "Gorebek" came into being and this is treated like as Plurality in the sense of media that bears into the stereotypes of creating violent alters and borderline goes more into demonic possession as a trope than Jericho does with Virgil/Raum who is coded as plural in an amazing light. I know the Witchlight party is supposed to be a less morally upstanding group while EOM has mostly moral greys given their genres, but given what goes on with Torbek it is disappointing.

It has been 4 months since we realized we were plural, and 3 of us in the body love Legends of Avantris, but plurality altered our perspective heavily. Torbek no longer feels like sweetly pathetic boy and more so midtier effort idea of something that Andy is still figuring out. Meanwhile Jericho feels much closer to home and if Mikey decides to have a session frame where the scarecrow system were to be too blurry to tell who is fromting, I will scream because Micheal Gilder is a master storyteller
