Trolls are, effectivvwely, closer to being Cephalopods than true insecticides.

They lack bones! The closest thing they havvwe is cartilage, wwvhich is only located in their midsection and head to protect major organs.

Their "brain", more accurately a nervvwe center, is located in their chest. So yes, the kids killed Condy by STABBING HER IN THE BRAIN.

The major sensory organs ARE in the head though, to givvwe a wwvide range of vvwiewwv. Like a periscope.

Their "teeth" and "lips" are modified Tentacles wwvith hooks, like those found on colossal and Humbolt squids.

Their arms are ALSO modified Tentacles, braided and fused together for better object manipulation. The clawwvs are ALSO rotating hooks.

Their tail is much the same, twwvo arms fused to act as a rudder.

Their horns are actually calcified semi vestigial limbs, covvwered in modified taste buds like a cat fish's skin, to catch pheromones like a snakes tounge.

The gills on a seadweller's neck are covvwered by a flap, to keep them moist out of wwvater.

Their bioluminescent "freckles" are actually chromatophores. They also change color, it's a wwvhole thing.

There's a beak in the back of their throat for crushing hard objects. Because of course their is.

Landdwellers havvwe adapted wwvith hard Chitin on their backs and chests. Seadwellers... havvwe not. Squishy bastards. Eridan is a LITERAL squishy wwvizard.

They can twwvist their heads around like owwvns.

Seadwwvellers wwvill ALWWVAYS need correctivvwe lenses on land, because of the shape of their pupils.

Yes the bulge is a left ovvwer from the wwveird reproductivvwe tentacle that octopuses havvwe. It's also an ovvwipositor. Don't ask. (Please ask imma do another post about that)

They, like bivvwalvvwe mollusks, produce pearls in response to foreign bodies in the soft tissue. There wwvill be a post entirely about that soon, I promise.

Seadwwvellers havvwe hyper flexible vvwocal folds that allowwv them to mimic sounds and vvwoices.

They possess a kind of precursor to the chucklevoodoos of purple bloods.

merlin told arthur his favorite color was the color of the sky during sunset when it shifted into a deep violet. arthur gets a tunic made in that exact shade. its the best thing merlin owns. arthur was hoping that would mean he’d wear it almost everyday but merlin almost never wears it. the only time he does wear it is when royals come to visit (which isn’t all that often). arthur “subtly” asks about it and merlin is like “it’s the best thing i own. i’m not gonna dirty it mucking out the stables or serving rowdy knights wine while they splatter food on it” and arthur is like “why not wear it when nobles come to visit? look at least a little presentable for them” (cough nice save). merlin doesn’t see the point in it bc nobles don’t care about him at best, view him as less than human at worst.

arthur really just wants to see his boyfriend servant in the tunic he had made for him (bonus points for sending a message that merlin is his. not that merlin seems to notice. man is too much of an idiot). merlin wants to preserve his favorite tunic and gift from his boyfriend king.
