Honestly, I lowkey get Kankri sometimes. Because if I was raised in a society where I was constantly coddled and not taken seriously by everyone including my own maternal figure, I'd be pissed off about everything too. I think a lot of people don't understand why Kankri acts the way he does and he's so self-righteous about everything. It's because he's raised in a world where he's never taken seriously. Even after he's dead, he's still getting coddled by Porrim, when he's clearly attempted to set up boundaries. And I know a lot of people think that Kankri's concerns about the Hemospectrum don't matter anymore because everyone is dead, but it clearly still affects him because, once again, Porrim is shown culling him on-screen! No one takes him seriously, so he does all these sermons and made all those memos to try and show everyone that he CAN provide! He doesn't have to be coddled, but everyone just brushes him off because of the harmful culling culture of Beforus. And don't get me wrong, Kankri brushing off Porrim's concerns about feminism isn't good, but it shows part of his character. He believes that his issues should take top priority because if they aren't then they'll just be brushed aside as "silly mutant nonsense". Also Kankri literally says that he's WILLING to talk to Porrim about misogyny! It's just not his top priority at the moment because it doesn't actively affect him.

On top of this, Porrim is known to be the one to coddle him all the time, something he is SHOWN to despise, so obviously he's going to be more dismissive of her views. Porrim literally acknowledges this!

Kankri is such a wonderfully complex character and the fact that people boil him down to such an irredeemable asshole genuinely upsets me. Porrim and Kankri are two of my favorite characters and their dynamic is really interesting, but just boiling down both of their characters to "misogyny" and "village two-wheeled device" is really moronic frankly. There's so many context clues and dialogues that give us extensive knowledge on all of the Dancestors that everyone just seems to not pay attention to.
