I thought it was only me seeing this but the plot was literally explained to by "uncle sam", literally called Kendricks performance "too ghetto" and said the (yt) people want to see light hearted dancy shit. drake being a p*do is a side story here.
How many times does it have to be said "Y'all dont want to hear me talk you just wanna dance"
People want just black people to entertain them and don't care about anything we have to say. I swear to god any commentary on the black expirence just goes over people's heads (This is America touched on this too)
Its safe in their little bubble and they don't want to leave and face even the most palpable form of expression that doesnt align with their experience. The same people who play 3D chess with taylor swift lyrics can't see symbolism when its literally explained play by play.

“Mary Wallace was the first woman bus driver with the Chicago Transit Authority in 1974. Her job applications were rejected for three years, but her persistence paid off. She was eventually hired under an affirmative action program. Wallace became one of the city’s most popular drivers over her thirty-three year career.”
Happy Black History Month!
