Evening Mood (William-Adolphe Bouguereau, 1882)
In an article for Spatial Vision, Baingio Pinna praises Bouguereau's technical skill, writing:
The female sensuality is mainly due to the realistic representation of the young woman and to the enveloping transparent veil moving slowly all around her body and, at a more primary phenomenal level, also to the sinusoid wavy lines that seem to dance synergistically and harmonically through their good continuation.

With a passion for painting, Mario Casilli enrolled in art school and developed a knack for photography. Clever lighting and striking backdrops became his trademark. Casilli submitted his first photos to Playboy in 1957, which caught the eye of the magazine's editor, who was so impressed with his work, he hired Casilli on the spot as a staff photographer. The pictures here are from a March 1968 Playboy pictorial titled "Brush-On Fashions". Body painting and photography by none other than Mario Casilli. I can only assume stroking these girls was more fun than snapping them.

"Your voice, your eyes, your hands, your lips
Our silence, our words
Light that goes, light that returns
A single smile between us
In quest of knowledge I watched night create day
Oh beloved of all, beloved of one alone
Your mouth silently promised to be happy
Away, away, says hate
Closer, closer, says love
A caress leads us from our infancy
Increasingly I see the human form as a lovers’ dialog
The heart has but one mouth
Everything by chance
All words without thought
Sentiments adrift
A glance, a word, because I love you
Everything moves
We must advance to live
Aim straight ahead towards those you love
I went toward you, endlessly toward the light
If you smile, it enfolds me all the better
The rays of your arms pierce the mist”
 ❤️
"La tua voce, i tuoi occhi, le tue mani, le tue labbra
Il nostro silenzio, le nostre parole
Luce che va, luce che ritorna
Un solo sorriso tra di noi
Alla ricerca della conoscenza ho osservato la notte creare il giorno
Oh amato da tutti, amato da uno solo
La tua bocca in silenzio prometteva di essere felice
Via, via, dice l'odio
Più vicino, più vicino, dice l'amore
Una carezza ci accompagna fin dalla nostra infanzia
Vedo sempre più la forma umana come un dialogo tra amanti
Il cuore ha una sola bocca
Tutto per caso
Tutte parole senza pensiero
Sentimenti alla deriva
Uno sguardo, una parola, perché ti amo
Tutto si muove
Dobbiamo avanzare per vivere
Punta dritto verso chi ami
Andavo verso di te, incessantemente verso la luce
Se sorridi, mi avvolge ancora meglio
I raggi delle tue braccia squarciano la nebbia”
- Paul Eluard
