On the morning of April 9th 1917, the battle of Vimy ridge began. For the first time in the war all 4 Canadian divisions were present. After flew days of fight on April 12th, Canada would successfully capture Vimy Ridge, although it did come at a price. There were around 10,600 casualties with around 3,598 being killed. This battle to this day is seen as the moment Canada emerged as a country and not an another under Britain.
though it would be neat to not only draw from that one famous photo, but to also redraw my first Vimy art I made, I definitely improved a lot from 2018.

I was thinking of scenarios in which Hetalia characters could only speak in their official languages with other nations being translators between them.
And (I think) only Switzerland and Luxembourg are the only nations whose official languages are both French and German. So I can just imagine France asking Switzerland to translate a message for Germany:
France: "Suisse, can you please tell Allemagne that I want to **** his ***? He looks so s3xy today!"
And Switzerland would just turn red and yell a mix of French and German (honestly put in some Italian and Romansh, he'd probably be so flustered) profanities while Germany is right next to them being also very flustered/confused (but also being normal about Switzerland being angry cause he's probably seen his cheese uncle much angrier before)
I know this is very very random and probably did not make any sense but you're one of the few FraGer shippers that I know (gorgeous art btw!) and wanted to share this goofy situation with
Belgium could also be a translator ☝🏻👀
PLEASE I love reading all these headcanon, ya' all have to many ideas for them and that's amazing!! 😭💞
I love this hc and I also find it funny 'cause, in germany they teach French at school as a second foreign lenguage! Same happens in France but with german 👀 and them like, not being 100% good at their lengauges, I totally see it!!
Poor small countries that live near/between them, they had to deal with their flirtations 🫣
Also thank you for your kind words <33

My Dad (completely in denial about how hard of hearing he is) is visiting from the UK and my father in law (who accepts that he’s hard of hearing but doesn’t care enough to wear his hearing aids regularly) is taking the two of us to the Canadian War Museum tomorrow and I am just. so. excited. This is gonna be amazing and I am HERE FOR IT
