Vitidsarn's cooked but at least it will the Thailand's first medal in badminton and this Olympics overall!
Because I'm not paying attention to the match as much anymore I've realised that I don't think the (English-speaking) commentators have said Vitidsarn's name even once?? They always refer to him as the Thai player while refer to Axelsen with his name. Like I get that it might be difficult to pronounce but the players have recorded themselves saying their names

Alasan Laki-laki Menangis
Viktor Axelsen atlet tepok bulu peraih medali emas Olimpiade Tokyo 2020 itu kini lolos lagi ke final Paris. Tampak usai memenangi laga semifinalnya kontra Lakshya Sen, pemain India, ia menangis di lapangan ungu.
Tangisan pemain tunggal unggulan Denmark ini mungkin dipertanyakan, sebab kemenangannya mudah diprediksi. Axelsen memiliki rasio menang hampir 80% selama karirnya.
Di hadapan awak media ia mengutarakan alasan air matanya tumpah, “A man like me must show emotions, because I'm very passionate about what I'm doing.”
"If men can't cry, what world do we live in?" Kata Axelsen.

Hopefully they get what they want!
23 sports stars such as Christian Eriksen and Pernille Harder are suing Bet365
23 of the biggest Danish sports stars have sued the bookmaker Bet365 via their unions in a case about marketing and illegal use of image rights.
The 23 sports stars demand a total of DKK 4.8 million plus process interest in compensation for being unjustifiably used for marketing purposes by the bookmaker. Apart from a single case, the bookmaker believes it has done nothing wrong. This appears from the documents in the case, which the Maritime and Commercial Court will hear on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
The sports stars are represented by their unions: Spilleforeningen, Handbold Spiller Foreningen and Danske Elitesportsudøveres Forening (DEF).
The former represents 21 footballers, including Christian Eriksen, Simon Kjær, Kasper and Peter Schmeichel and Pernille Harder. Handball Players Association represents Mikkel Hansen, while DEF represents badminton star Viktor Axelsen.
"This case has been brought because the plaintiffs have found that Bet365 has improperly and without consent used the personal names and images of well-known athletes for marketing purposes on Bet365's company profiles on Facebook and Twitter, in violation of general legal principles and good marketing practice, cf. the Marketing Act," it reads among other things in the plaintiff's claim document.
Used as an advertising column
Christian Eriksen believes that he has been involuntarily used as an advertising column in at least 29 cases, and he has the largest compensation claim in the case of DKK 1.45 million. Kasper Schmeichel has the second largest at 500,000, followed by Pernille Harder, Peter Schmeichel, Simon Kjær, Lasse Schöne and Viktor Axelsen.
The postings by Bet365 were made from 19 February 2019 to 11 March 2021. The unions then filed a claim for damages against the bookmaker, but the bookmaker denied infringing the athletes' image rights and therefore also refused to pay damages. However, the posts on social media were deleted.
Bet365 now acknowledges that Christian Eriksen is entitled to compensation - but less than the 1.45 million kroner that the compensation claim is. In the 22 other aspects of the case, the allegations are appealed for acquittal – alternative acquittal against paying a lower compensation amount than the claimants want.
Christian Eriksen, Pernille Harder, Lasse Schöne, Mikkel Hansen and Viktor Axelsen are expected to have to testify as parties in the Maritime and Commercial Court. It is planned to take place via a video connection.

Devastated Lakshya Sen takes solace in Deepika Padukone's support after the Paris Olympics agony
Lakshya Sen created history by being the first Indian male badminton player to reach the Olympics semifinals. However, his adventure ended in despair when he narrowly missed out on winning a medal. After losing to World No.1 Viktor Axelsen in a nail-biting semifinal, Sen faced Malaysia's Zii Jia Lee in the bronze medal match. Despite his greatest efforts, he was unable to secure the victory, leaving him with a remarkable fourth-place finish but without the coveted medal.
Tumblr media
Sen expressed disappointment during a conversation with Humans of Bombay. "After the match, I was devastated." "It will hurt for a while that I was unable to give India a medal at this Olympics," he said. Sen admitted that there were parts of his game that he might have improved, particularly in those crucial final seconds.
Prakash Padukone's harsh love: A coach's candid comment Sen's coach, the famous Prakash Padukone, did not hold back from expressing his disgust. Padukone told reporters that Sen has to take responsibility for the loss and come back stronger. "He surely could have received a medal. I understand he is young, but he cannot use this as an excuse. "Take responsibility and work harder," Padukone said, encouraging Sen to refocus and prepare for future problems.
Deepika Padukone’s unflinching support Despite the criticism and disappointment, Sen took solace in the unwavering support of his coach's daughter, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone. Deepika, known for her loving and encouraging nature, contacted Sen during the bronze medal match. "Even after the match, she called me and said, 'It's okay; don't worry. You did well. Prakash sir has been a mentor and father figure for me. "It's always nice to talk to them if I need advice," Sen said, emphasizing the Padukone family's beneficial impact on his journey.

"Garden Mein Ghoomne Wala": Sunil Gavaskar Blasts Lakshya Sen's Olympics 2024 Meltdown
The Paris Olympics 2024 has been a bittersweet experience for the Indian sports fans. After the high of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where India returned with a record seven medals, the expectation was that at the Paris Olympics, the haul would be bigger. However, following a string of narrow misses and some unlucky incidents (like the Vinesh Phogat disqualification), India won six medals. Badminton was one sport where India has fared well in the last three editions.
Tumblr media
Starting from the 2012 Olympics, Indian badminton stars have returned with at least one medal. However, this time there were no medals. The star duo of Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty could not enter the semi-finals. Singles player Lakshya Sen became the first Indian male shuttler to enter the Olympic semi-final but lost crucial matches despite being in a strong situation.
Amid such displays, badminton legend Prakash Padukone said that It was time for the badminton stars to bring home good results as there was enough support from the government and other stakeholders.
The comment was criticised by many. Former Indian cricket team captain Sunil Gavaskar, however, has supported Prakash Padukone and critisiced Lakshya Sen's mental block.
"As far back as 2017/18, Prakash, who I unfortunately meet rarely, had told me about this kid, Lakshya Sen. He had taken him under his wing and was his guide and mentor. He would have watched Lakshya's progress step by step. As he came to the cusp of an Olympic medal, Prakash was by the courtside along with the hard-working and indefatigable Vimal Kumar to see the fulfillment of not just Lakshya's dream but also that of the entire community of Indian badminton lovers," Gavaskar wrote in a column for Sportstar.
"To then see a 20-17 and 7-0 lead being squandered off in the semifinal (vs Viktor Axelsen) and then lose the bronze medal match (vs Lee Zee Jia) after winning the first game comfortably must have been gut-wrenching indeed. He, Vimal Kumar, the BAI, and the government's TOPS had done everything possible, but when it came to the crunch, Lakshya was, in the famous words of the Indian cricket team captain (Rohit Sharma), 'garden mein ghoomne wala.'"
Gavsakar felt that Lakshya had lost his "thought and concentration".
"For those who watched both the semifinal and the bronze medal matches, it did appear that Lakshya had lost his trend of thought and concentration in the way he looked at his racquet as he sipped from his water bottle in between points or at the changeovers," Gavaskar wrote.
"I could be completely wrong, but on TV, it looked like a blank expression, and that's usually a sign that the mind has wandered. Concentration and focus are things that no coach or trainer can ever teach. It can be developed over the years by the athlete by observing other champions and having an inner resolve, but there's no specific program for it. Yes, mind trainers are around, but they can only do so much and not more. It's got to be within the athlete."
