This is an independent roleplay blog for Blitzcrank, the Great Steam Golem from League of Legends. Penned by Poro, mun of @metalvsflesh.

This interpretation is a fusion of my old blog, 2011 lore, and 2016 lore. Any lore developments and rewrites caused by the Netflix series Arcane is and will be ignored, but muses taking them into account are still welcomed to interact so long as you respect the fact that Blitzcrank will treat your muse as if they are from an Alternate Universe.

Additionally, please note this blog is a side blog and my secondary roleplay blog, with my primary roleplay blog ( @mxgalodon ) taking priority. As such, replies may be slow. Please do not hesitate to approach me with questions or plot ideas, however.

Important Information (below the cut):

Blitzcrank is genderfluid (masculine-leaning) and uses they/he pronouns.

This blog does not have a primary Viktor. By default, Blitzcrank does not know the status of Viktor and has mixed feelings about him. They believe he abandoned them to Stanwick, but have fond memories of him otherwise.

That being said, I am willing to interact with any and all Viktors who are interested in writing with a Blitzcrank as if he is their designated Viktor. I'm perfectly fine with adapting the lore I abide by to fit with your Viktor's lore. I only ask you give me a run down if it is not clearly outlined on your blog.

The only exception to this is any Arcane-based Viktors, as he is not a machinist and did not create Blitzcrank. All Arcane-based Viktors will be treated as if they were from alternate universes.

I could wax poetic about why Viktor's League backstory is inherently more interesting and more thematically resonant than where they went with him in Arcane season 2, but the cold hard truth is

a man covered in grease and probably blood who builds his own body out of scraps with his own two hands, can in fact build any contraption out of dinted metal sheets and a few screws including a deathray, performs deeply inadvisable operations on desperate but consenting people with his own tools, generates a cult following against his wishes because of his ability to inadvisably help people but the power's all his now anyway so he may as well, wants to clean up and save the undercity but is (only sort of) misunderstood as a walking Geneva Convention violation a freak and a supervillain, torments his arch-nemesis on at least a weekly basis and probably homoerotically hunts him for sport, had his life's work misattributed to people in the ruling class and is angry and tragic about it forever, tries to rip out his own emotions and is unsuccessful but pretends like he was not, is actually oddly kind to children, and is at the end of the day still just some guy,

ok so i get the sentiment of “your imperfections make you who you are” and i did cry like a beluga whale while watching the final jayvik scene but hear me out

while the sentiment totally works if we speak about viktor’s leg, self-esteem or his zaunit origin which society see as imperfections (when in reality it’s the world around viktor that is imperfect and should change, not him), this line angers me when i think about viktor’s terminal illness that was killing him at the age of what? 30? 35?

i haven’t rewatched s1 yet but it seemed that viktor didn’t turn to hextech in the sense of altering human nature before his illness got worse. i imagine a universe where he managed to treat this desease at early stages and is now using hextech to build tools, maybe robots and other cool stuff to make the world more accessible and safe for people, especially those less privileged. no cult or glorious evolution needed. and i believe it would be possible if he wasn’t so alone in this.

he didn’t cross the line because he couldn’t walk without a crutch or because people looked down on him in piltover. for me it was because he was fucking dying and so so tired. he fought alone for so long that the fragility and duality of human nature started to seem like a weakness to him. so anyway. i appreciate jayce finally seeing that viktor is wonderful, perfects, his soulmate and he should have never left him and he should have cared more but i also would like viktor to reply like ok, jayce, apocalypse cancelled let’s hold hands and butterfly out of existence. but when we are just two astral entities in the middle of everywhere you’ll have do your homework and learn about the inequity and what it does to a person.

If we never get a scene of arc!viktor asking jayce to join him in his big villainous granola pyramid scheme because 'they need each other' then that tv show truly lost. Viktor asks jayce to join him in both the 2011 & 2015 tellings of their game bios and it is SUCH a staple of doomreed multiverse stories.

My expectations are, as always, on the floor, but you should feel personally offended if we're robbed again. like thats personal homophobia

Arcane should’ve never become league canon, arcane Viktor should’ve been a skin. The original 2011 Viktor deserved to be updated in a way that enhanced and streamlined his old character, not completely replace it. Season 2 Viktor is less interesting and less unique and just not worth replacing the old one.

Streamer Jayce definitely seems like a LOL player who’d heavily grinds the game, and would *know* the lore extensively, even better than the devs/writers themselves. And in a world where LOL is the exact same, even with game Viktor and Jayce remaining unchanged, streamer Jayce would also definitely make jokes about himself and modern Viktor related to those game characters

oooh I've sorta been imagining a slightly separate AU where the streamer AU is still modern, but reader and the gang blow up before League of Legends was released their characters and bases the visuals off of them. Jayce and the Machine Herald were both introduced in like 2011/2012, so the slightly less modern streamer AU would take place circa late 00s early 2010s which is silly because that's such a different landscape.

You start out on Youtube, playing the original Minecraft, Sims 1 and 2, Bioshock, the old Resident Evil games and Silent Hill, Jayce playing WoW and LoL, the old Zelda games, Halo, and Assassins Creed. Your aesthetic looks quite different, pink and black foam sound mufflers decorating the back of your space, pink glass beads covering the door behind you, a fluffy pink rug on your floor, PlayBoy throw pillows next to your cheetah print stuffed animals on your hot pink velveteen bed. Don't even get me started on your closet. Juicy tracksuits galore, so many roll over leggings and matching tube tops, sparkly halter tops, low rise jeans, gold and silver hoops, a collection of belly button rings, and so many Chanel heels. You also definitely had one of those bedazzled BlackBerry's.

Viktor is more present in this AU, you both having a separate series on the channel called Multiplayer Monday where you and him film videos playing together. I wouldn't say he fits into the emo-boy look. Think less Rodrick Heffley and more season 1 Spencer Reid with less greasy looking hair. Lots of sweaters, lots of button ups and academic prints like argyle or plaid, lots of beat-up converse, old messenger bags, and comfy oversized jackets. He's still just as sassy, but he really does get into the games. I see his day job being something like an early day's computer scientist who really gets into the craft that goes into coding a game.

You and Jayce only really blow up because shipping culture used to be even more insane than it is now and everyone couldn't wait to see you two together, never mind the very real boyfriend you had. You and Vik still get a lot of attention, but shipping wars definitely break out over who you're going to "end up with". There are so many, fanfics don't get me started. You know how 1D started the "I Got Kidnapped By..." trope, you three definitely started some freaky shit in fanfic spaces. In fact, you really originated Fuck or Die fics, specifically a smutty twist on the Hanahaki disease trope where you have to fuck to prove that you love one of them so they won't die and prove which side of the shipping war was right once and for all. Also, so many Youtube edits of you and Vik to Kesha's, Your Love is My Drug.

Despite not being the greatest at the games he played, Jayce's deep love for the lore eventually got him noticed by Riot, who invite him, you, and Viktor to one of their events and plan a partnership with you three, which is how Jayce and the Machine Herald get introduced into the game. You also get a character, but we all know how well adding female characters to male dominated gaming spaces goes. It would be a completely terrible mischaracterization of who you are and what your channel stands for, your tits would be huge and popping out of your outfit, your waist would be the size of your head, your weapon would be some sort of Cupid's arrow gimmick, and the character would eventually be retired and a piece of lost LoL history. You get a few references made to your character on Valentines Day, though!!

Viktor is more pissed about it than you are, and out of spite, he remodels your character and makes a little platform game for her as a present to you on Valentines Day. It's a really cute small release where you battle a bunch of magical creatures on your adventure to find the Ring of Happiness. While you usually take the wheel when it comes to more creative endeavors like character and world design and story board creation, it's still a very cute game. When you beat the game, you do also receive your own real-life Ring of Happiness.

Besides the little hiccups, Jayce and Viktor think it's very cool to be in a video game. Jayce is definitely the type to main his own character no matter what while Viktor likes a little more variety. The cosplays would also go insane!!! Does Jayce lose his fingerprints with the ungodly number of times he burned himself trying to hot glue his hammer together? Well, yes!!! Does Viktor nearly dye himself with the black body paint he uses? Yes!!! You cosplayed Viktor's version and are the only one who comes out unscathed. From that point on, you leave the cosplaying to the fans and stick to playing the games.

You can't trick me into watching Arcane because I played League of Legends for years and know where all these characters came from. You can't sell me realistic nuanced drama about fucking JINX of all characters because I was there for her champion release and she was just The Jonkler For Women. I don't care about whatever tragic bisexual backstory you came up with for Viktor, I know he becomes Cyborg Skeletor shooting death rays out of his third arm. Anything between Cait and Vi is retroactive queer baiting because Riot made those two in 2011 and 2012, and Riot wouldn't explicitly say they had a queer character until Neeko in 2018.

Warwick used to be a bounty hunter cursed by Soraka because he seduced and tricked her, and Singed literally has no backstory, he's JUST an asshole chemist whose name is an anagram of design because he was the first character they made for the game. I don't need a show telling me Jayce is a shithead, I had to deal with that fucker in top lane for months when he was new, I already hate him.

I am NOT watching the League of Legends propaganda cartoon that Riot keeps sinking money into to divert attention from how their company was/is as riddled with sex pests and misogynists as Blizzard.

hi so i don't post usually but I think nobody brought it up yet somehow? recently I saw a take on twt/x under "your unpopular opinion on Viktor" post on my fyp and a person suggested that Viktor's accent didn't make a lot of sense. and I agree and disagree simultaneously, so. I distinctly remember seeing that one interview with his original voice actor Owen Thomas (mind you, this interview is 12 years old) where he kinda explains how the character voice lines came about. I went to rewatch it again and yeah. here's a clip from there (Owen Thomas Interview - The Voice of Twisted Fate and Viktor on YT):

I think you know exactly what I'm thinking about, but I will elaborate a little bit on that. as a slavic person myself from a post-ussr area we know exactly that this is just an average caricature slavic accent that exists only on the screens of hollywood movies. like i haven't heard it anywhere but western movies. not in real life. ever. not to mention they usually don't even know other slavs exist besides russians (and even if we do, we, of course, sound the same lol). and I'm guessing you know exactly what characters usually have this accent. ;))))

Viktor came out in 2011 and back then the media was full of these awful archetypes(??), so I really believe that "the red scare bad villain slavic guys" played a huge role as to how this idea came to their mind to give this accent in the first place. because look at the old lore, Viktor clearly fits into the category of being this exact villain who may or may not have a slavic accent. whether it was intentional or not, this notion of making villains slavic with a silly accent was just something so deeply rooted in their minds they didn't give it a second thought. not to mention that Jayce (his kinda nemesis in the old lore) sounds very american to me. yeah bro where did I see this story before lol. anyway, yeah, the shit is hilarious, honestly. it is clumsy.

the point is, I think they kept the accent in arcane, because they felt like not taking away a trait from a character that made the character stand out in the first place. so it started as the voice actor randomly giving a character an accent over 10 years ago and it just stayed. the accent doesn't have a deep meaning besides maybe the thing that i have previously explained above (which may not apply to current artists behind arcane, at least I hope that their intentions were good) (fyi im not offended by the accent or anything, it is just how the culture has formed things. maybe one day we will see them do their homework and actually try to be at least somewhat correct in the phonetics of the accent. maybe. but like i just wanted to share this video I believe not so many people have seen)

Is there a safe space left for us League Viktor enjoyers? Everywhere on the internet it's "Arcane", "Arcane", "Arcane"... and many fans seem pretty toxic

Safe space is here in my spaces, I only don't ship jayvik and I have specific pointers to what's bad in 2016. lore. But when it comes to aesthetic, character point, etc... I will always stay true to og League Viktor, and never switch to Arcane Viktor.

I have a discord server for my Viktor comic, if anyone wants to join send me a message at Discord @ikleyvey . The comic will stay in old lore and while Viktor had like less than 10 minutes of screentime in Arcane as "machine herald", my comic will fully focus on his character and psychology for its entire duration.

I see at Viktor Mains discord server a lot of people share our sentiment too. @viktor-leagueoflegends also collects League Viktor fanart that includes jayvik if I'm not mistaken, there are fics written by old fans such as Hexmage . There are still many people creating old lore content, and I will soon create a big list!

Don't despair, go tell Riot about your opinion, wait for me to create a custom skin mod for his old model, VO and animations in-game, don't spend money on Riot anymore, and know there's a lot of us in the same soup as you!
