I have exciting news...
As of last night, all compositing, animation, background painting, etc, has been completed! There is literally no more art to produce for the actual film.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what's next? All that remains is to re-edit the music to the new timing of the film and have it professionally mastered. This could take a month or so. The next step after that is to complete an intro sequence that has minimal motion. My plan is to complete the film in its entirety before the year is out and then prepare for the festival circuit.
Within a few weeks, I will be dropping a trailer! in the meantime, please enjoy these screenshots from the film and imagine them in motion!

Still thinking about how Casey Jones from TMNT 1987 became a Fricking Mess Without Relying on Dead Parents Origin
(Is it Wrong to think Casey Jones 1987 might have an Abusive Parents or Father who wants him to be Very Masculine??)

I think a massive facet of Tim's secret identity should be that everyone in Gotham knows that if Tim had Bat Skills, he would simply be a benevolent supervillain instead. A feral little gremlin who would take out the kneecaps of every boomer trying to embezzle charity funds. Like, this is the bitch that's constantly ready to fight God in a Denny's parking lot. He would be out there committing murder every time someone tried to rezone Gotham's voting districts again; he'd just show up in their dark living room with anime eyeshine like, "oh? And you thought you could get away with this? 🔪"

So you know that time probably 2 years ago now when style theory premiered and personifying the entire theorist channels as characters was all the rage?
Well like a year ago I started BRAINROTTING about these guys and I didn't stop
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
GAME THEORISTS VIGILANTE AU
Where all the channels are their own superhero with their own weapons and fun powers, deafeating Kaiju level threats of videogame characters come to life ( among other things)
I have so many thoughts about each one of these guys but I'll keep it at a minimum
Basically I made personifications of the channels and I based their names partly off of their specific channel as well the host of that channel
ex. Saidi Anatoli has her first name start with S for Style theory, and her last name start with A for Amy, same goes for all the hosts except for gt live which is a special case but their initials are still somewhat related
Avery -- Ash
G taylor -- G T Live
+---+
Gregory is a computer programming student
Frederik is a film student
Filip is a cook at a local family-owned diner
Saidi is a reporter
Avery is a at-home student/livestreamer
+---+
All of them have fun deisgn ideas with game theory taking inspiration from Megaman and fps games, film theory looking like a ninja, food theory being a shape shifting beast boy chef type, style theory looking like a cool revolutionary/musketeer with her blue coat, and gt live being the hacker/guy in the chair making sure things go all according to plan
I also have a lot of lore about them, like how the super hero suits are Augmented Reality suits (AR suits). when they put on one article of clothing and say the trigger word, the suit shapes up around them and improves their physical mobility and instincts ( similar to a Spidey sense suit)
I also have a villain in mind that I haven't illustrated yet, but he's closely related to game theory and his name is micheal- super villain name : Chrono ( y'know like Chrono trigger, something something first theory video on the channel haha)
So much inspo from marvel, DC, X men and the lot
I'll stop yapping for now but I'll add stuff if I end up drawing more

Can we stop calling The Punisher a hero?
I'm sick and tired of the glorification of The Punisher. Frank Castle is a sick man whose happy place is being in a war and it doesn't really matter what or who he's warring against. He never started this crusade for revenge. If it was for revenge, then he would've gone home like 3 weeks in to Punishering it up.
Frank Castle is not a hero. He’s not some tough-as-nails, misunderstood anti-hero. He’s not some tough teeth gritting vigilante with a heart of gold. You're thinking of Wolverine. No, he’s a murderer. Plain and simple. That’s his whole thing. That’s what he does. That’s all he does. He doesn’t fight for justice, he doesn’t save people; he kills. And yet, people still put him on this twisted pedestal, like he’s the symbol of the moral gray and justification. And I’m so sick of it.
Yeah, sure, this is the Marvel Universe, where logic bends, where guys in tights throw buildings and teenagers can swing between skyscrapers like it’s no big deal. Ethics get fuzzy when you have gods and mutants and billionaire playboys. But what Frank does goes beyond all of that. Because Frank Castle is a bad man. A sick man. A man whose entire life is wrapped up in a never-ending war he never really wanted to end.
He lives in a van or warehouse full of guns and weapons, and he’s still out there, free, because he's too violent, too ruthless for anyone to deal with. Nobody stops him. Nobody can truly stop him. Not because he's some anti-hero with a tragic backstory. Once again, you're thinking of Wolverine. It's because he's a walking, talking, killing machine who’ll unload a clip in your face before you even think about it. People think he’s a badass. They think he’s cool. No. He’s a psychopath. A man who is only happy and defines himself by being in the middle of a war.
Don’t get me wrong; I like the character. I really do. But, I read his comics the way you might watch a true crime documentary about Jeffrey Dahmer. You’re not rooting for Dahmer. You’re horrified by him. But you’re fascinated. You’re trying to understand what makes a person tick when their clock is so broken. That’s The Punisher. There’s something raw, something almost cathartic about watching one man wage his own war against crime with no empathy, no mercy, just a hell of a lot of ultraviolence. And yeah, everyone gets in that mood every once in a while.
But here’s what gets me: people out there, actual people, glorify this. They paint his skull on their cars, their jackets, their walls. They act like he’s some kind of symbol of tough love or real justice. But Frank Castle would hate that. He’s said it himself — "Captain America would love to have you. I would not." He despises anyone who sees him as a role model because he knows what he is. He’s not confused. He’s not conflicted. He’s not trying to be a better person. One more time, you're thinking of Wolverine. Frank Castle is a monster.
And he knows it.
So let’s call it out. Call out the people who put Frank Castle on a pedestal like he’s something to aspire to. You wanna read a tough teeth gritting vigilante? Go read Frank Miller’s Batman or Daredevil. You want someone morally gray, someone who actually grapples with the weight of what they do? Check out Moon Knight. But if you want to peer into the mind of a deeply broken, deeply dangerous man, then yeah, read The Punisher. Just don’t fool yourself into thinking he’s anything other than what he is: a guy who likes to kill people, who lives to kill people, and who’s damn good at it.
Frank Castle is not a hero. And he never will be.

Hello all! I'm sorry for the long stint of radio silence. I have been busy compositing the film. All animation is complete and locked down. It has been a long process of putting everything together. If I'm lucky I will be able to finish the compositing this year!
Anyways, enjoy this small loop of a shot from the movie!

Taxi Driver (1976, Martin Scorsese)
28/01/2024
Taxi Driver is a 1976 film directed by Martin Scorsese, written by Paul Schrader and starring Robert De Niro. Set after the Vietnam War in New York, it is about a vigilante with neo-noir and psychological detective elements.
The screenwriter Paul Schrader stated that he was inspired for the film's themes by European existentialism and in particular by Jean-Paul Sartre's Nausea and Albert Camus' The Stranger, as well as by the story of Arthur Bremer, who attempted in 1972 to assassinate Democratic US presidential candidate George Wallace. Particularly notable is the performance of Robert De Niro, defined by the American journalist Robert Kolker as "the last of the noir heroes in the noisiest world imaginable". The very young Jodie Foster won two BAFTAs in 1977 as Best New Actress and Best Supporting Actress (also for Bugsy Malone).
The film won the Palme d'Or at the 29th Cannes Film Festival in 1976 and was nominated for four Academy Awards, including the Best Film category in 1977. The American Film Institute placed it 52nd among the 100 best films of all time, while it ranked 17th on the list of the 500 best films in history according to the British magazine Empire. In 2012 it was placed in 31st place, ex aequo with The Godfather - Part II, in the ranking of the best films of all time drawn up by critics and published by the English magazine Sight and Sound, while in that drawn up by directors it found itself in fifth place. In 1994 it was chosen for preservation in the National Film Registry of the United States Library of Congress.
