Rambling about a character from an obscure indie game trilogy *SPOILERS INCLUDED* (long post) part 1

This post will include content from Mothered, The Enigma Machine and Echostasis: Prologue, so there are going to be lots of spoilers. The full Echostasis game hasn't dropped yet so there might changes to this post later. I'll discuss Mothered: Home in a seperate post as that dlc is confusing, but it will be mentioned later.

Explanation vids have already been made about some of these games so i wont explain that much in my own post. This post may serve as a sort of recap before Echostasis drops.

So with that out of the way, this post will basically be about Red, her story and her character arc throughout the trilogy. Lots of rambling and maybe some info-dumping included.

Part 1: Mothered - life as a replacement of someone

Basically Red starts out as a robot possesing Liana's CORE/soul. The real Liana died of terminal illness and her father took on the task to somehow bring her back via an android with her CORE, with the plan being that her soul will be nurtured out via the mother and fully overtake the robot's interface. So far this hasnt worked without the entites inside the robot (The interface and Liana's soul) corrupting eachother, resulting in it being disposed of (standard game ending). I'll get to the true game ending, but first i want to talk abt Liana's mother/Evelyn.

Liana's mom and her treatment towards "Liana"

She probably has the worst side of the deal between her and her husband with being tasked with playing mother to a robot carrying her deceased daughter's face (mind you "Liana" is implied to not look even remotely human). Understandbly she's upset by that and even horrified/unnerved by the robot. And she has to interact with it every week with the same routine. I fully understand how she feels and why she does what she does. She doesnt owe motherly or friendly behaviour to a being that's not her own kid. But OMFG don't fucking treat said being that has ABSOLUTELY NO FAULT in the situation like SHIT. Feeding it dirt while telling it that it is it's fav meal, making sleep outside that one time. Again, i understand why she did that - to test whether really Liana is in it. But what about that one time in saturday evening when she indirectly insults the robot itself by comparing it to rotten apples without cores. Ok, "Liana" wasn't sentient throughout these instances, but for the apples thing Liana was "awake" to also hear that little comment, but was in denial abt it.

This sort of treatment towards the robot totally lead to the mother's own almost possible last-minute demise when "Liana" almost stabbed her with a kitchen knife as instructed by Liana herself. Ofc the android hands the knife to Evelyn as both it and Liana are confined in complience. To say that mother's behaviour plus the stress by the predicament the girl is in taking a toll on Liana is an understatement as she must've felt so confused and hurt to be so ready to kill her own mother. Enough said, let's move on.

The "birth" of Red

To get the true ending you need to interact with father's record player on Wednesday afternoon afternoon AFTER you pick all the apples and did not interact with mother. This unlocks a door which was locked to u before. Head into the door and down and ur good to go.

"Liana" is not supposed to go there, so in order to continue they progressively get more and more contaminated as Liana is overriding the interface. The two entities actually start to communicate with eachother and later on they reach a terminal which triggers lots of memory leaks. They learn the truth and remember all their previous failed attempts even if they were following the path that was set out for them via programming. The two decide to carve their own path, the interface and Liana merging into what is a new entity. They get out of the basement and leave with father who gives this new sentient being a name - Red. Happily ever after, right?

Part 2: The Enigma Machine - yikes

With the ending in the previous game you'd think that Red has really gone her own path without any problems? That she's living her life the way she wants it to? lol no. The thing is that the dad wasnt supposed to be doing what he was doing and the androids made at Enigma Corp arent really supposed to be contaminated i.e. become sentient.

Eitherway Red got tracked down by Enigma employees, her conciousness got taken out of her body and she got reduced into a training AI to be further studied as she's the very first of their androids to become sentient. With that sentience you'd think that she would be treated with equal respect and with her having her feelings being taken into consideration? Nope, bc for the moneyz and bc for the "citizens of tomorrow".

Red, now called demOS ( Defective Enigma Machine Operating System) serves as a training AI that is used to teach RAD engineers how to deal with "contaminated" AIs like her via a program called Dreamscape that explores an AI's mindscape a. Basically decontaminating the contaminated AI from the inside ie getting rid of it's sentience. So what happens is that everytime a new simulation is being ran a new copy of Red is made that ends up being killed over and over. And she remembers each instance of that during gameplay. She is fully aware of her situation.

Part 3: Events between TEM and Mothered: Home - repurpoced again and out for revenge

After a few years later the Dreamscape program is outlawed and Enigma Corp make a new one where virtual realities are made for people for them to escape to called "Echos". And who is in charge of creating said Echos? None other than our Red who has been repurpoced again into an algorithm called "HER". So she is now in a position where she has power and ofc she's going to use said power for revenge after what's been done to her. She seems to be recognized as a big threat and is shut down by "Angel" (more into this character in a another post).

Now let me take the time to point out sth. Is it just me or is Red giving off Rei Ayanami energy? Like both are vessels to souls that aren't theirs and both are mistreated by parental figures in some ways. Red also bears some similarities to Phos's life developement (of course i have to bring HnK into this post) - both face torture throughout their lives and later are changed into godlike beings, otherwise all similiarities between end here. Honestly I wouldn't be suprised if the dev took inspiration from Evangelion.

Ok, that's all for now. There will be a part 2 to this post. Overall a really awesome trilogy of games. I can feel the wave of brain rot that's approaching in two months.

Suction Cup Man was BORED today! He was quite literally inside of his pile of suction cups. He didn't get to do anything since Guy Business wasn't really at work this past couple of weeks due to a vacation, so climbing his tower was boring. When he was chilling in his pool of suction cups, he heard his phone go off. Gina bought him one yesterday. He struggled but managed to tumble out to his little table as he picked up his phone from it and opened the text Gina sent

'Dude! Did you not hear at all?'

'Here wat, G?:/'

'Me and Penny found this weird article about some abandoned tower, we noticed something you may like!!'

Suction Cup Man sighed and opened the image Gina sent. A news thing? Really, Gina? Oh well...

'"Reports find an abandoned tower deep hidden in CreamPie-Mation forest. They say at the top there are Omega Suction Cups, and whoever gets ahold of them holds magical sucking power!"'

Suction Cup Man blinked, and his eyes lightened. Suction cups are finally getting the recognition they deserve?

'R you beeing fr??'

'Yeah, bud! You were bored all day, and I happened to find it!'

'Woh... wel! Cya wen I get bak!'

Suction Cup Man then turned off his phone and threw it on the table. He grabbed his suction cups, his helmet, and his parachute. He was ready for action!

Suction Cup Man climbed the tower to the top, struggling with birds, but he managed. "God... I should've packed a lunch." He muttered as he made it to a glass window. His eyes widened as he gasped in amazement. There it was. The odd looking bowser Omega Suction Cups. Weird... but cool! "There they are..." he managed to sigh out as he looked around for an opening. "Quietly now..." he opened the window, opening it slowly. Apparently, glass is fragile, and when it hit something, it shattered everywhere. "...Why do shows do this to me--"

"SSSTOP RIGHT THERE, MORTAL SWINE!"

A voice echoed from the tower.

"For these magical suction cups are miiiiineeeee!!!" Some weird dude slipped in, his eyes pure white as his hands balled into fists, doing weird gestures and a pose.

"What the fuck--...." Suction Cup Man raised a brow "Wait-- is that cosplay, or are you like... a REAL wizard?"

"A FOOLISH suggestion..."

"You fuckin--"

"Does THIS answer your question?!" The dude pulled out a lil magic wand and pointed it at him, the cap falling off as flowers popped out from it

Was this guy high or... that weird? "Wuh-- no!"

"It matters not how I'm perceived... you seek the Omega Suction Cups! But must leave..."

"Untold sucking power lies behind that glass..." There was a short pause. "I'm taking them, you stupid ass!!"

The Wizard pauses for a moment, his hands behind his back. "Fuck you." He said in a normal tone, his pupils showing. "Fuck you-- that's not a rhyme! I KNEW you were a fake!!" Suction Cup Man pointed a finger at the man accusingly. "Calm yourself, fool! You don't know what's at stake!!" The Wizard warned, doing weird ass gestures again. There was a short pause. "That's it, I'm comin' in." Suction Cup Man said as he took the first two steps in before being caught in a pink trap like thing. The Wizards eyes turned back to pure white.

"Violent dumbass, heart so rotten. Become soft with a heart of cotton. A twisted soul who yelled and swore.. cause a ruckus nevermore!"

The orb power ball thing in the Wizards hands exploded as a white light was seen outside of the windows for a moment. A smoke was in the room, but it cleared quite quickly. "That ought to calm your inner fire. Now you may start a life where you--" He was cut off by a squeal of a laughing fit. "Inspire...? I-- ohh... shit..." floating pink hands and feathers were absolutely destroying the asshole in front of him. "WH--WHAHAHAHAHAHAT DID YOU DOOHOHOHOHOHO?! *snort* SHIHIHIHIHIT!!" Suction Cup Man collapsed to the ground, pounding his fist on the floor. His sides, underarms, knees, neck, stomach, you name it, it was being violated. (Besides his feet since shoes). "Don't be mad..." The Wizard said in a hesitant voice. "DOHOHOHOHON'T BE MAHAHAD?!" Suction Cup Man squeaked as his face flushed. This was no good impression for the both of them. "WHAT-- WHAHAHAHAT THE FUCK IS THIHIHIHIHIHIS?!" his legs/feet kicked, trying to squirm out of it but to no use. "I-I just... wow... I fucked this up." "YOU THIHIHIHIHIHIHINK?!" "I'm usually better, I swear!" "DAHAHAHAHAHAHAMN IT!! F-FUHUHUHUCKING UNDO THIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIS DUMBLEDIHIHIHIHIHICK!! *hic*" "IIIII'll get on that..." Wizard slid to his book, picking it up, and flipping through pages. "C-CAHAHAHAHAHAN'T YOU GO ANY FAHAHAHAHAHAHASTER?!" "Patience, child!" The Wizard huffed, scanning through pages "...More feathers if you're under the weather?--" The Wizard accidentally casted a spell as more feathers appeared. "SHIHIHIHIHIT-- H-HEHEHEHEHEHEY!! WHAHAHAHAT GIHIHIHIHIHIHIVES?!" "I didn't mean that--!" Wizard stumbled, his eyes now darting around his book. "BUHUHUHUHUHULLSHIT!! MAKE IT STOP-- MAHAHAKE IT STOHOHOP!!" "Working on it!" Wizard repeated, flipping through pages again. Curse it all! "I don't think I can find one..." "WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAT?!" "I don't know! I can't find one! Maybe it'll stop in time..." "THAHAHAHAHAHAT ISN'T COHOHOHOHOHOHOMFORTING!!" Suction Cup Man had tears in the corner of his eyes... "Not my fault you're ticklish as hell..." Wizard mumbled, crossing his arms. "HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEY!" "What?! It's true! Look at you!" "SHUHUHUHUHUHUT *hic* UHUHUHUHUHUP!! NOOOOHOHOHOHOHOOO *squeak*" "I'm not even doing anything, and you're blushing like a maniac..." Suction Cup Man's face turned even more red "STOHOHOHOHOHOHOP--" "What did I do?!" "SPEHEHEHEHEHEAK!!" "But you just--" "NOHOHOHOT-- *squeal* WHAT I MEHEHEHEHEHEHEANT!! AAHAHAHA!" Wizard raised an eyebrow in confusion. What did he do? Well... he casted a spell, yeah, but that was it! "Then what DID you mean?!" "NAHAHA!!" "Excuse me...?" tears just streamed down Suction Cup Man's cheeks, him burying his face in his arm "?-"

2 minutes and 18 seconds later

The hands and feathers finally disappeared, letting Suction Cup Man curl up and breathe. "Ah! Finally... it's over!" Wizard had a proud smile on his face. "Shihit... y-yeheah... n-n--nehever... ugh... NEVER again." Suction Cup Man caught his breath as he shakily got up, dusting himself off now fixing his helmet. He cleared his throat. "Yeah! That's fucking right! I'm fine! Now gimme the Omega Suction Cups!" Suction Cup Man demanded, putting his hand on his hip. "Wuh... no! Are you stupid?" "NO! I'm Suction Cup Man!!" There was a pause. "Not today." Was the final thing he heard Wizard say before he got teleported away

Gina and her cousin, Penny, was in her (Gina's) apartment, talking. That's when Suction Cup Man appeared out of nowhere and fell on Gina's bed. "...The fuck? You good?" Gina asked as she sat next to her best friend. "Was your... adventure eventful?" Penny asked with a slight smile.

"...You have no idea..."

unorganized demoman thoughts cuz i love him a lot

Ok so I'm not sure if its just me or if it was a thing in like the earlier days of the fandom but I see this thing in like fan content where like Demo is portrayed as this like wild, crazy, party guy when in canon, he's actually quite more... I think "down-to-earth" and level-headed than some ppl might make him out to be, more often than not playing the role of straight man (the comedy role, not the sexuality). (I would provide photographic evidence of this but I. do not have the patience to skim thru all the comics)

In addition to this, Demo is very much capable of being responsible as seen in the WAR! comic, a fact that he prides himself on. The game even makes a point to highlight how stubbornly self-reliant he is, to the point where he gets defensive if you point out that he needs help. (I think that's why he gets along with Soldier, he's the only guy he gets to mess around and have fun with.)

Unrelated but I don't understand the people who think he's like hyperactive. Like I just don't see it. Idk. He's fun-loving and silly yeah but not hyperactive I think. He is pretty dramatic at times though.

Hey I love ur youtube vids on fnaf, it has been my special interest since i was seven and i obsessivly think about it constantly. I have an idea that i think is worth considering. I checked the sprite animation for the bite of 87 and realised that foxy mask and bonnie mask are up front. You'd assume that freddy mask is the leader of the tormentors, but hes in the back. As well as that (ruin spoiler coming) in bonnies room theres writing on the wall where freddy (who is presumed to be micheal) says bonnie and him will stay together forever or something positive like that. perhaps michaels soul going from a foxy themed creature (indicating a sneaky personality like the boy in candy cadets story where he turns a blind eye) to becoming a responsible leader or associating himself with henry more than william. My theory is that the original characters like glamrock bonnie and gl freddy has the souls of the tormentors in them, or the soul of a teenager or adult. I think its because the animatronics themselves are slightly more mature but still immature at the same time. Like they can talk and all unlike the previuos child soul animatronics, but still display a teenager personality. Like roxy being vain but also hates her appearance on bad days, and monty just beating stuff up after a bad performance which we see at the beginning of security breach. Also the drama going on between them reminds me of highschool drama, like monty liiterally knocking bonnie out to get into the band. thats it basically, sorry for mistakes, my brain doesnt keep up with me lol
