Yesterday on the crowded roads of Dier al Balah, several people--one of whom was my friend, Mohammad Abu Alwan--carpooled in a vehicle. He was out collecting a transfer from donations, as well as securing food and other supplies. Suddenly the vehicle Mohammad was riding exploded from a bombing--the smoke was suffocating and my friend sustained injuries on his knee, as well as burns on his hands and legs. As you might imagine, this is causing him a lot of pain and discomfort, particularly as he must now continue to find supplies for his family. It’s been three weeks since Mohammad has tasted bread--but these two pieces must be shared between 14 people, the entire family. A single green pepper and a small tomato are the only vegetables to be found in the market of Dier el-Balah.

Please, please continue to donate--it’s the only thing sustaining the Alwan family!! But also please continue being a voice for the people who need you. Thank you so incredibly much, every little bit helps and I can’t overstate the impact everything has had upon this family.
