Happy Art Monday!

Today, I'm sharing a close-up of an intimate moment between Moon Jeong-Hui and Angeliki Alexakou. This piece focuses on a whisper, capturing the subtle emotions and connection between them.

Jeong-Hui is softly saying the 'ou' sound from the Korean word 'Noona', highlighting the tenderness of the moment.

I'm really proud of how this turned out, especially the shape of Jeong-Hui's lips. It was a real challenge to capture the sound of the whisper.

At first, I considered drawing their entire faces, but I think this composition adds a layer of mystery, intensity, and intimacy so I kept it that way.

As you may already know, I have problems visualizing faces, that's why I use real people to represent my characters, kind of like casting actors for a TV show. Casting is: Song Kang (Moon Jeong-Hui) and Vicky Papadopoulou (Angeliki Alexakou).

An amazing and fun project I had the opportunity and honor to work within Character and Motion Animation at Tigrelab Studio in Barcelona. / / / / / / / / / / We had the amazing opportunity to pitch, design and produce the relaunching campaign of Mamos Beer. The hero spot tells the beautiful real story of Petros Mamos, a Greek brewer and entrepreneur that built his own label and factory from scratch. Foss Productions came to us asking for some animations with collage technique, Tigrelab designed a brand-friendly style with simple compositions and minimal color palette. We played with images adding vintage pictures into fantastic environments with a pinch of contemporary elements and collage extravaganza.

Who are the most beautiful Greek actors and actresses?

I don't know what it says about me but I had to watch two videos called "Koreans react to 16 Greek actors / actresses" in order to answer this.

I did this because I tried to be relevant with who is trending and more objective, otherwise my own list would be people who were in their prime in the '90s and '00s. I am sorry, I haven't watched TV in ages.

Prête pour sa première émission télévisée panhellénique est la "Ballade of the pierced Heart" de Giannis Economidis ("Matchbox", "Little Fish"), diffusée sur Dimanche (18/4) sur ERT2 (23h30), nous donnant l'occasion de rassembler les cinq choses que vous devez savoir sur le film.

Son cas se déroule dans la province grecque, plus précisément à Lamia, où les passions érotiques se mêlent aux tendances autodestructrices des héros. Tout commence par le mariage d'une charmante femme (Vicky Papadopoulou) avec un homme d'affaires (Giannis Tsortekis), qui se trompe complètement. Elle décide de le quitter et de se réfugier chez son amant, un ancien chanteur folk (Vassilis Bismbikis), qui possède désormais une boîte de nuit. Les deux parviennent à se réunir, mais en plus d'abandonner son mari, elle lui a également volé un million d'euros. Et l'homme d'affaires décide de se venger sanglante ...

La "Ballade ..." est sortie le 5 mars 2020, coïncidant avec les premiers cas de coronavirus dans le pays mais aussi avec la mise en place du premier verrouillage national quelques jours plus tard. Cependant, les quatre premiers jours de projection du film - dans une seule pièce - ont été caractérisés par des ventes à guichet successives, qui se sont traduites par une ouverture de 2 208 billets. Ce n'était qu'un avant-goût du grand succès qu'aurait le film, lorsqu'il a poursuivi ses projections cet été, atteignant un total de 35 483 billets vendus dans tout le pays. D'une manière ou d'une autre, "Ballad" est devenu le plus grand succès commercial de la carrière d'Economides, malgré les conditions défavorables.

Suspect habituel

On sait que le réalisateur a toujours fait confiance à des acteurs spécifiques pour les rôles qu'il joue, avec la présence indicative de Vangelis Mourikis dans trois films avant "Ballad", à savoir "The Soul in the Mouth", "Knife Cutter" et "Little Fish" . Ici, Vassilis Bismbikis, un nouveau venu en économie, joue le rôle principal, les Mourikis étant limités à un petit rôle inoubliable qui fait passer le film au niveau supérieur. Concernant le casting, selon Economides: "Le choix des acteurs, qui ici dans presque tous les seconds rôles sont des amateurs, et le travail avec eux est ce qui donne la sincérité cinématographique à votre histoire".

L'homme de France

Une autre innovation dans le travail d'Economidis est la collaboration avec l'éminent compositeur Jean-Michel Bernard dans la création de la bande originale. Le Français, qui a travaillé dans les films de Martin Scorsese ("Hugo") et Michel Gondry ("La science du sommeil", "Come Back Alone"), a raconté à "a" sa connaissance du réalisateur grec: "Nous avons cliqué" et j'ai été particulièrement impressionné qu'il ait décidé de me faire totalement confiance dans le morceau de musique, sans qu'il n'intervienne du tout. Ceci, vous le savez, est extrêmement rare. Alors, j'ai pensé que je voulais écrire quelque chose d'inattendu, quelque chose qu'un spectateur ne s'attendrait pas à entendre dans un film grec. De plus, je n'ai pas l'habitude de composer de la musique ordinaire, j'aime lui donner une bizarrerie qui la fasse ressortir. Je pense que tout le monde est très content du résultat et j'ai vraiment apprécié le processus. Bien sûr, le meilleur de tout, c'est que j'ai rencontré Giannis, c'est comme si nous étions amis depuis vingt ans! "

Une vie sur la piste

L'acteur George Giannopoulos, qui appartient désormais à jamais à la culture pop domestique grâce à l'attaque "comment les avez-vous coupés comme ça" ("Little Fish"), dans "Ballad" joue un chanteur populaire, un rôle qui n'est pas loin de la sienne la vie. «J'ai fait un travail à temps partiel dans la chanson, ce qui est montré dans le film est un tout petit échantillon. Bien sûr, maintenant, vous m'avez rappelé une époque où je chantais dans une taverne à Kos. L'esthétique du néo-noir a toujours fasciné Economides, qui a pleinement adopté le style de "Little Fish", avant de l'enrichir tout en conservant ses traits distinctifs personnels dans "Ballad". Mais quelles sont ses influences cinématographiques dans ce cas? Il a évoqué les films "cold Blood" et "Hot Secret" des frères Cohen, "Family Friend" de Paolo Sorrentino, "Mission to Bruges" de Martin McDonagh et en général le cinéma d'Aki Kaurismaki.
