Michael Vey: The Forgotten YA Series

One of the best YA series that I've ever read, and honestly I believe it's one of the best that's been written, and it's a complete and absolute crime that people barely know about it.

it's a series with ten books (i'm so sad i haven't been able to catch up, i need to get the rest of the series!), it's got an absolutely wonderful and diverse group of protagonists, and it's just one of my absolute favorite series.

Every single character has their own unique set of skills, and the conflicts that they face within their own group are so realistic, because it makes sense that a group of teens would eventually have some sort of inner conflict, and the way the conflicts are resolved aren't cheesy or cliché.

The redemption arcs are so realistic and you really come to love all the characters. I won't spoil much (it's in the first book), but as someone who struggled a lot in school with bullies, one of the first antagonists, a bully in Michael's class, gets a redemption arc and it's one of my favorite arcs of the series.

I've definitely cried at points in the series, everything is so well-written and heart-wrenching at times.

if you're a fan of Percy Jackson, I absolutely recommend this series, because Michael, Ostin, and Taylor (the main Michael Vey trio) have a very similar dynamic to Percy, Grover, and Annabeth. Also Sharon Vey, Michael's mom, would be the best of friends with Sally Jackson, and no one can tell me otherwise.
