@kit-just-kit ...plucked from the Disco server
Kit nodded as his suggestion, her brow quirking together as she added "I don't know why yet, But I believe she'll really stick out. This woman……the visceral nature of the crime is so against the feminine and maternal norm. It leads me to think that we're looking for a woman who was denied the chance of being a mother - say through illness or accident, she had a hysterectomy fairly young. Maybe even lost her breasts too perhaps. She doesn't feel like a woman anymore and so, has no empathy for these young, beautiful, most probably very fertile women who were the victims. but at the same time, she's elegant, refined. Possibly even still very beautiful herself even though she doesn't see herself that way". In a sense, she could be describing herself - apart from the fact that Kit was already a mother and found joy in it ever day despite not being with her children all the time. Still, she was of 'a certain age' and had been cast aside for younger models by her last husband, she understood the rage and emptiness of being so lonely, all of a sudden. "The male perpetrator is still the key, physically. He's the one doing the cutting, the raping. He knows what he's doing is wrong, but he wants to please her, to earn her respect and admiration. And she just wants an instrument to wreak her havoc on her victims - it's a very twisted dynamic". Her head shook slightly from side to side, somewhat lost in thoughts of the cruelty of the human race. And then, after a pause, she looked over at him and said "I'm sorry that you were forced to accept my involvement in this matter, Detective Rollins. I know it can't be easy to deal with my profession if you haven't had much interaction with us before". It was only a slight concession, made to try and smooth the way between them for the greater good. But it was needed, she felt.
Everything she said was vital information regarding both medical and psychological history, but he had no way to access any of it to help them find their alleged female suspect. It was frustrating and he wasn't able to stop as the disappointment showed when he sighed and sat back further in the seat. Everything mentioned regarding the female perp would come after they at least had a suspect, and shifted through her history. It didn't get them any closer to where they needed to be. At the mention of the male perp, Alex nodded in agreement and waited patiently for her to say more.
He listened as she worked through her thought process eventually finding herself at something they agreed on: it was a very twisted dynamic if her theory was correct. Watching her process was interesting, making it seem as if she wasn't trying to sell just him on the prospect, but also herself. The waitress interrupted briefly delivering the plates before scooting off to another table.
Alex grabbed his fork when he caught the apology. He paused and looked up staring stunted by the comment. What the hell kind of vibes was he putting out? Placing the fork down on the plate he blinked before doing his best to undo whatever he'd done. "My apologies Ms. Prince if I offended you in any manner. I've been a homicide detective for over fifteen years, and the job has hardened me a bit, or at least that's what I'm told by family and friends. Please forgive me if I've come off as rude or cynical. Something they also tell me." It wouldn't be the last time he'd have to make such an apology, but it was an honest one.
After a few bites, he'd received a notification announcing that they were indeed going to do another sweep of the crime scene. He shared the information, "Looks like they can head back over this afternoon." He sat down his cell and asked, "Would you like to go?"
#c:kit&alex#c:alex#verse: utd#location:diner#[i'm thinking maybe once they get to the apartment he gets a call about a new body? maybe? A fresh crime scene.]

Mega, depressive, all tomorrow's party post
May 8th, 2009
Today, we should be at ATP. BY RIGHTS!! The next three days promise to be a stream of torturous reminders that we’re not.
So, to celebrate the fact that I’m gonna be miserable this weekend while my friends tweet and facebook and blog about how they’re having an incredible time, as I sit LONELY at msn, ABANDONED, here are some stream of consciousness, non-proof read reminisces about the four ATPs that myself and other members of LC! have attended. Plenty of name-dropping because I’m depressed, alright?
MAY 2006 The United Sounds Of ATP. Our first ATP. Phil Elverum with Herman Dune as backing band. Neil and Tom paid for tickets. I got the other…five of our pals “press passes” due to me being a BIG PLAYER in student media at the time. We slept the seven of us in and around a single double bed. John slept with his head in a bin and wore a dress for the weekend, got recognised by Huw Stephens while hitching up his skirt in the . Tom and Neil got their picture taken with Bill Callahan. Immediately accidentally deleted it. Cried. Beth Ditto called me “the cutest thing I’ve ever seen”. Met a really awesome girl, wrote a song about it. Did a conga line whilst watching the Shins. Shared a chalet with a Sheffield Wednesday fan, he was very tall. Two litre bottles of Strongbow. Vodka and slush puppies. Might have met Josie Long. Dancing with Sleater-Kinney to ‘Hot Topic’ by Le Tigre, WHILST WEARING a Bikini Kill t-shirt. 33 at 45. Mascis playing guitar with BSS, and forgetting to mute his pedals whilst tuning up, LOL. Absolutely OWNING the dancefllor for the entire weekend.I kind of peaked here. Pretty certain this was the happiest weekend of my life.
MAY 2007 ATP VS THE FANS The moment, watching Architecture In Helsinki, that, all at once, about 25 blokes in the crowd noticed a bit of one of their songs sounded like the BBC Cricket coverage theme tune, massive grins. Starting the weekend off with The Thermals, meeting loads of people off Drowned In Sound in the front row. Somebody told me Daniel Johnston had missed his flight. I drunkenly announced it to loads of people. Daniel Johnston hadn’t missed his flight. I’m still very sorry. The Notwist being amazing. Got a verse out of this one too. Yoni Wolf and Dose One performing part of Physics Of A Unicycle together. Incredible. Missed Shellac because we watched the frankly FUCKING AWFUL Chelsea v Utd FA Cup final. Asked to do a Los Campesinos! v Mogwai 5-a-side football match. Too scared.
CAN’T FIND ANY PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE OF THIS ONE!!
MAY 2008 ATP VS PITCHFORK We played this one. Esiotrot/4 or 5 Magicians/Los Campesinos! 5-a-side. Lot of fun. Maybe shouldn’t go to ATP with a girlfriend, makes it a bit rubbisher. Also, don’t jump off the drum kit during your set and sprain your ankle and subsequently have to spend the rest of the weekend on crutches. Except, ATP only had one pair of crutches, and somebody had already taken. In extreme pain for the rest of the weekend. But playing was probably the proudest I’ve ever been. I CROWDSURFED!! Last day of the Premiership season, United win it at Wigan. Found a disposable barbecue with a human turd on it. Times New Viking dedicating a song to us, and hanging out with them all weekend, gettin’ waaaaaaasted man. Saw the guy, who had the crutches, CARRYING THEM, WALKING FINE!!! BASTARD!! Was offered a Zimmer frame.
DECEMBER 2008 NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS: MIKE PATTON/THE MELVINS Didn’t go until Saturday afternoon, because I had a football match Saturday morning. Watched about 3 bands. All very good, thank you very much. Watched about 5 football matches. Everton v Aston Villa was a hell of a game. United beat Fulham. Kept asking for beers with the stress on the wrong cyllables, hilarious. Got drunk and tried to go swimming. It was closed. Got tricked at ‘gay chicken’. Lots of Dance Dance Revolution. Me and Gui started our new band KrabIsland (news on that, never). I could be Teenage Jesus’ drummer.
I’ve been reasonably restrained here. Might add some more in a bit. We’ll be lucky if I don’t bust out crying…
No apologies made.

Man City valuable
Man City named world's most valuable football club brand Man City has been named the most valuable football club brand in the world after topping the Brand Finance Football 50 report for the first time
Five other English clubs appear in the top 10: Man Utd (fourth), Liverpool (fifth), Arsenal (eighth), Tottenham (ninth), Chelsea (10th).
It is the first time an English club has topped the list in six years and comes after a 34 per cent growth in the club's brand since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Hugo Hensley, associate director at Brand Finance, said: "Premier League brands make up 45 per cent of the value of the top 50, and the league has the highest number of brands (18) represented; the seven from London is more than Serie A or Ligue 1 in total.
"This is most obviously due to the financial power Premier League teams possess thanks to huge broadcasting contracts, however, this is merely a reflection of the attractiveness of the league and its clubs to fans and sponsors around the world.
"Brand Finance market research shows that the league is seen as the most competitive and exciting league to watch, and is perceived as having more world-class players and clubs than any other league, while Manchester United and Liverpool were rated first and third respectively for the metric.

"Relatively equal distribution of broadcasting revenue, and the league’s reach allowing even smaller or newly promoted clubs to secure significant sponsorships, perpetuates the competitiveness that keeps the league exciting.
"Manchester City’s recent dominance could be considered a threat to the competitive nature, winning the title five times in the past six years, and echoing a problem is seen in Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and less recently in Serie A."
Twelve other British clubs made the list, too:
West Ham (16th), Newcastle (17th), Aston Villa (20th), Everton (23rd), Brighton (26th), Leicester (27th), Crystal Palace (29th), Wolves (32nd), Leeds (33rd), Celtic (42nd), Brentford (43rd), Fulham (49th).

Driving eastward towards dawn, they remained mostly silent until he started questioning why she was at the plantation house all alone. Finding her in such a bloody state caught him off guard, and left him unnerved. Admittedly, he was slightly pissy.
The tone and snark of his dear friend earned her a side glance. Stubborn or not all she ever had to do was call and he'd come.
He'd always come.
Gripping the wheel of the classic F–150 with one hand he let out a held breath as she turned the questioning on him.
"Well, your hani sister in New York hadn't heard from you in a couple days. She said you'd been chasing ghosts around that old plantation house. She was worried–which in turn made me worry. Just a big ol' circle of people worrying about you." He went quiet for a moment before he added, "Yeah, so looking for you."
They'd pulled into the motel close to the interstate with a diner attached. Throwing the truck in the park he asked, "Sleep or food?
@little-earthquakes-rp {{from this starter}}
"...S'not like I've had so many volunteers beatin' down my door tryin' to help me." His tone is met with a small spark of fire in her own. The stubborn set of her jaw. But she can't let enough alone. "My hanai-sister has her own troubles back in New York. And you've been..." She could have reached out. She could have called. Found him and turned up on his doorstep. And yet the guilt eats her alive. It's her fault that his kind turned on him, even if they have no idea what her purposes are, what she does for so many. She isn't any more a monster than they are. "Why were you even out there, any way?" She'd been chasing down the creature that had murdered her brother in cold blood, but it always seemed to be either a dozen steps ahead of her, or the rumour led her to some other source of trouble. That plantation house is rife with disquiet spirits, but she was working through them one at a time. She hadn't expected him to find her healing up several bloody gashes in the middle of the night, or bringing her back to town while the sun was rising. They hadn't really said a word on the way back, but now it feels like there's so much that lay between them that should be said. She doesn't exactly know where to start.

Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds - Young Adult
(Available on eBook and eAudiobook)
‘‘Now
I’m wishing I would’ve
laughed more
at his dumb jokes
because the day
before yesterday,
Shawn was shot
and killed.’’
This remarkable Y.A. thriller is set over the course of 60 seconds. Written in lyrical, verse-like prose, it tells the tale of a revenge-seeking William, whose brother has been shot dead.
But when Will sets out to get his revenge, some ghosts from his past appear in the elevator on his way down to the ground floor. Will he go ahead with his murderous plan?
There’s a sense of urgency in this fast-paced novel, though he soon realises; it is a ‘long way down’ from the 8th to the ground floor.
Hero On A Bicycle by Shirley Hughes – Children (10+)
(Available on eBook and eAudiobook)
‘‘He stopped and slung his bicycle against a nearby wall to get his breath back and consider the situation. At that moment someone came up silently behind him and clapped a strong hand over his mouth.’’
Set in Florence, Italy during World War II, this is historical fiction at its finest. The Allies are closing in on Nazi-occupied Florence and 14 year-old Paolo has been taking secret bike rides late every night to beat the boredom of life under curfew. He misses his dad – an anti-Fascist who is in hiding - and rues the fact that he is too young to join the military.
However, when Paolo receives a frightening message on his way home from one of his late-night treks, he suddenly becomes involved in the thick of the action. Can he become the hero during his hometown’s greatest time of need?
This is an excellent novel, which captures one family’s struggles during war.
Not suitable for younger children, some upsetting themes.
Zom-B; Underground by Darren Shan – Young Adult
(eAudiobook)
‘‘Can you hold on to your humanity when you're a monster....’’
This fantasy-horror, dystopian novel by the ‘Master of Horror’ is book two in the Zom-B series.
B Smith is the main protagonist in this story, which is set during a zombie apocalypse. When she wakes up in a laboratory-style military camp, ‘B’ learns that she has become ‘Zom-B’.
Can she meet the demands of her captors or is she doomed?
Will she be a monster forever?
The Dog Who Lost His Bark by Eoin Colfer – Children
(eAudiobook)
‘‘In his short doggy life, Oz has suffered at the hands of BAD PEOPLE. Somewhere out there, he believes, is an AWESOME BOY – his BOY. Maybe when they find each other he will learn to BARK again ...’’
Patrick comes from a very musical family and he has wanted a pet dog for a very long time. When he rescues an abandoned puppy on his summer holidays, he calls him Oz, and so begins a strong friendship between a boy and a dog – at least that’s what we hope!
Oz is a nervous little creature and he can’t bark, or at least he doesn’t bark when he moves to his new home. Will he ever bark again? Maybe the musical family will be able to get him barking again!
This heart-warming children’s tale, from the creator of the Artemis Fowl series, shows how important music can be in the healing process.
Rugby Spirit by Gerard Siggins - Children
(eAudiobook)
‘‘A new school, a new sport, an old mystery ... the first instalment in Gerard Siggins’ beloved and bestselling Rugby Spirit series.’’
Eoin Madden is the grandson of a legendary Irish rugby player. When he starts a new school in Dublin, leaving behind his GAA playing days in Tipperary, his rugby adventure begins.
In Casterock College, rugby is everything! But Eoin has never even held a rugby ball before. And the bully, Richie Duffy, is making his life even more difficult. Can Eoin make an impact in his very first season on a school rugby team?
This is one for fans of sport and fiction. It provides lots of insight into the game of rugby, too.
Once by Morris Gleitzman – Children
(Available on eBook and eAudiobook)
‘‘Once I saved a girl called Zelda from a burning house.
Once I made a Nazi with toothache laugh.
My name is Felix.
This is my story.’’
Once is the first book in Morris Gleitzman’s Felix and Zelda series. Set during the Second World War, this novel is a tale of hope, friendship and survival.
Felix is in a Catholic orphanage in Poland in 1942. The son of Jewish booksellers, he fears that the Nazi’s are burning Jewish books and believes that his parents’ store could be next.
The young Jewish boy departs the orphanage, longing to find his mum and dad, and to warn them about the Nazis. Felix soon discovers that his hometown has changed utterly. A race for survival ensues.
Not suitable for younger, some upsetting themes
Sabrina; Season Of the Witch by Sarah Rees-Brennan – Young Adult
(eAudiobook)
‘‘To be a witch is to kiss the moon.’’
Inspired by the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, this fantasy novel is a prequel to that Netflix series. It is the story of what went before the "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" show.
Sabrina is half-mortal, half-witch. Before she turns 16, and becomes full-powered, she realises how scared she is of joining the dark side and leaving her mortal life behind.
Can she discard her boyfriend Harvey, and her other mortal friends? This is her origin story; a spooky adventure for fans of the Sabrina series.
Ultimate Football Heroes; Rashford by M & T Oldfield - Children
(Available on eBook and eAudiobook)
‘‘When the referee blew his whistle, Marcus started his well-practiced penalty routine:
Four little shuffles to the left,
then short steps forward to try to fool the keeper, and then BANG!’’
The Ultimate Football Heroes series is a biographical story of the life of a star footballer. It charts the rise of some of world football’s biggest names, from the playground to the pitch.
Marcus Rashford is one of the most exciting players in the English Premier League. The Manchester United star has been one of the standout stories over the last year, with his campaign to keep free school meals available for children in the UK.
In Rashford, we learn about the life of Marcus – from when he would watch Man Utd playing on TV as a baby, to scoring important Champions League goals for the Red Devils.
A fast-paced story, full of action, it is one for all the family to enjoy. Others in the series include Kane and Delli Alli, which are available on BorrowBox.
Slam! You’re Gonna Wanna Hear This by Nikita Gill – Young Adult
(eBook)
‘‘Poetry is the language of Fire, Fury and Freedom,’’ says Nikita Gill.
Slam! is a collection of poems performed at ‘slams’, or spoken word competitions. It features established and emerging voices, with themes such as home, kin, protest and desire among those in the collection.
Slam! highlights the importance of poetry for the times we live in. It provides an ideal introduction into modern poetry and is a terrific publication.
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien – Children
(Available on eBook and eAudiobook)
‘‘In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.’’
J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic fantasy novel is the prequel to his Lord of the Rings saga. Tolkien wrote the story for his own children before it was published into a worldwide bestseller. First published over 80 years ago, it continues to be enjoyed by young and old.
This otherworldly tale features the hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, who has been recruited as a burglar by Gandalf for an epic quest. Expect trolls, goblins, dwarves, elves, giant spiders, and the dragon, Smaug, as Bilbo and the gang make their way across Middle Earth in search of treasure.

The natural soundscape suddenly ceased as the night air quieted, and an uncanny feeling of being watched overcame the witch. Etta searched through the night calling out only to be surprisingly answered. Quickly she turned to the source of a deep voice and gasped. A smiling man–an angel in solid form stood before her now.
Etta was confused. She'd only meant to invoke an angel for assistance in a matter. She didn't mean to summon one. In complete shock, she took a step back onto her cell cracking the touchscreen, unbeknownst to her, as she was lost in the moment. Several seconds of silence passed between the two before Etta finally composed herself to admit, "I guess I did." All she could do was stare at the other.
Shaking her head in disbelief before she attempted again, "Sorry, who are you?" Bringing her hands in front of her chest she interlinked her fingers. Before he'd even had a chance to reply she asked, "Are you an angel?" Shaking her head in disbelief, she shifted her weight from one foot to the other.
Tilting her head to the side she forced a nervous smile before introducing herself, "I'm Etta."
He's felt the desperation gnawing at him — to depart from the misery that he's found himself confined to for however long. Stuck within the cage of his own life, wherever it was. He wasn't certain what it entailed, where he actually was, these days ... hadn't been for awhile, he's realized. But, it's only more evident when he feels the shift, and experiences the welcoming warmth of life suddenly being gifted to him once more.
He doesn't understand it at first. Barely registers the faint murmurs that fills each of his senses when he hear his own name being cast out all around him. Yuvan, it speaks, and when he peers up, he accepts its calling.
Yuvan blinks and suddenly, he's somewhere new. Not forced to stare at the same darkness that's veiled his vision for however long, but a different kind of shadow. Night, he realizes, when he feels the subtle breeze against his features, and allows the faint scent of pine to fill his nostrils. Gazes up long enough to realize that the light that glows comes from the natural beauty of the moon.
No longer confined to the depths he's been forced into.
But, he's not alone, he quickly realizes. Witnessing the candles before him — only half of them lit — and the woman that stands within. Her question encourages the realization : it's her who's called him.
There's mischief in his smirk as he stares at her, trying to gather answers to whatever's kept him bound. Nothing comes to mind, and still he says, "You called ... did you not expect me to answer?"

Solskjaer is likely to stay at Manchester United... BBC "keep it until Tottenham" 먹튀검증
먹튀검증먹튀사이트먹튀검증사이트먹튀 검증 먹튀 사이트 먹튀 검증 사이트
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to have escaped a sacking crisis.
After United's 0-5 home defeat to Liverpool, Solskjaer was on the brink of sacking. The British 'Manchester Evening News' immediately said, "Man Utd is considering the sacking of Solskjaer. They are seriously considering Solskjaer's future, and United have yet to give an answer about the manager's whereabouts. We have 5 losses in the match.” It has been revealed that United executives have entered into a meeting over whether or not to sack Solskjaer.
Following the reports of the resignation, there was also talk about the next candidate for the director. While Zinedine Zidane, who is currently resting, former Real Madrid manager and Antonio Conte, former Inter Milan manager, have emerged as candidates, Italy's Sky Sports reported that "Man Utd had contacted Conte for the first time."
Reporter Fabrizio Romano, well versed in European football, also said, "Conte's position is clear. It is not Conte's style to take over the team mid-season. The only club that can change Conte's mind is Manchester United. It will depend on Solskjaer's situation. “, explained.
But United are likely to give Solskjaer more chances. British 'BBC' reporter Simon Stone said on the 26th (Korean time), "There is a growing chance that Solskjaer will remain as Manchester United manager until the Tottenham match on the 31st."
Solskjaer avoided sacking immediately, but his position has not changed. Currently, Tottenham Hotspur are not as good a team as Manchester United. It is true that there is also a difference in objective power. It seems that Solskjaer's sacking can become a reality if the atmosphere is not reversed in the match against Tottenham.
Solskjaer took over as manager Jose Mourinho in the 2018-19 season and took over as an official manager. He is evaluated for rebuilding Manchester United, which was struggling even in the European Champions League (UCL), but in the end, he is not able to bring the trophy the fans want. Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Rafael Varane were brought in this season, but they faced the biggest crisis as their grades fell.

Premier League 2021/22 preview: Vastly-improved Chelsea can wrench the title off Pep’s City
The soccer treadmill starts up again with the return of the Premier League on August 13. The post-lockdown period has been a pretty relentless one for the game's leading players, although at least there has been a longer break this summer than last. Still, the fact remains that England's top flight will resume less than five weeks after the finals of Euro 2020 and Copa America, the stars of which have only just returned to training in many cases. With this in mind, the squad depth of Manchester City warrants plenty of respect as Pep Guardiola's side go in search of a fourth title in five seasons. The Spanish boss is well versed in having to rotate his players - City have regularly contended for all four trophies on offer in recent years. They look well stocked in defence where it should be remembered that Aymeric Laporte wasn't even first choice for much of last season, while the midfield is overflowing with talent - something which looks set to be enhanced by the arrival of Jack Grealish. With Sergio Aguero now at Barcelona, the lack of established centre forwards is the biggest concern. Gabriel Jesus remains but won't be able to play game in, game out, given the demands placed on this squad by the cup competitions. Unless the Harry Kane saga takes another twist, it looks like Guardiola will again be looking to employ his midfield and wide options as 'false nines' pretty often. To be fair, the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and the ever-improving Ferran Torres are all capable when called upon to carry out that job. However, in a season in which Aguero played little, it was notable that City's goal output fell to 83 league goals - a decent number for most sides but well down on their own tallies of 102, 95 and 106 in the three previous campaigns. Clearly a signing of Kane's stature would make that less of a worry - and highlights the problems punters face betting prior to the closure of the transfer window - but in the here and now it's at least a slight concern, as is the fact so many of their stars were involved in the latter stages of the summer international tournaments. While they remain the team to beat, I can pass at around 4/6, particularly given there has been just one successful title defence in the last 12 years. Question marks over Solskjaer Cross-town rivals Manchester United were runners-up last season and have again spent big in a bid to improve. Jadon Sancho's arrival for £73million makes for a fearsome attack, especially if Mason Greenwood can continue his ascent which rather stalled in the first half of last season. Raphael Varane also looks a good upgrade in defence but it is the midfield which will be the biggest concern to those thinking of backing them at 17/2. Bruno Fernandes has been a revelation over the past 18 months but his inclusion has undoubtedly meant Paul Pogba hasn't been used in the best way. He's regularly been forced into a wider or more defensive role and United fans aren't the only ones who will have watched his performances for France in the summer and asked why isn't he being utilised in the same way at Old Trafford? That's a mark against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and doubts still remain over his managerial ability at the very highest level. He's certainly not got a great record in the biggest games - May's Europa League final was another where opportunity slipped away, while United won just one of their six matches against their fellow top-four clubs last season. I'm not sure too many people would choose Solskjaer as their man if Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel were the other options and this off-pitch role is an area I can see United falling short in. Liverpool a tempting price Klopp's Liverpool are a tempting price. Much went wrong for them last season but most could be put down to some dreadful luck with injuries. To lose both first-choice centre-backs to long term injury within weeks of each other was the biggest blow but both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are fit again now, with Klopp having also added Red Bull Leipzig's Ibrahima Konate as to bolster the defence. The Reds actually coped well for a while without their two central defenders but a devastating period in the new year saw their title hopes collapse. With hindsight it was almost certainly a mistake by Klopp to plug the defensive holes with his best midfielders - Fabinho and Jordan Henderson were both regularly asked to play in the backline and that undoubtedly weakened the side in forward areas. The likes of Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams showed during the run-in that they were capable stand-ins. Had they been trusted earlier, Liverpool may well have created a title race. I have few doubts the well-established 'Fab Three' forward line will still provide plenty of goals - although I'd expect Diogo Jota to be forcing his way into the side a lot this season, as long as he stays fit. Roberto Firmino's spot certainly came under threat towards the end of 2020/21. Gini Wijnaldum will be missed in the midfield but Klopp appears to have a ready-made replacement in Curtis Jones, who should feature more this season and it would be no surprise to see him in the England squad at some point. Some will be concerned about the January loss of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, both of whom will be at the Africa Cup of Nations. However, there seems a good chance Liverpool will be able to negotiate a deal which sees them leave after playing Chelsea on New Year's Day. If that's the case, they'll only miss league games with Brentford and Crystal Palace. In short, it's not the big problem it might first appear. This isn't a vastly different team to the one which won the title just over a year ago but while Klopp's men were seriously considered, preference is for Chelsea at the same price. Best bet Their 2020/21 season was one of two vastly different halves with the arrival of Thomas Tuchel producing a huge upturn in fortune. There was massive improvement, particularly in defensive areas, and that was highlighted by the Blues' run to Champions League glory under their German boss. However, Chelsea also picked up notably in domestic competition too with only champions Manchester City winning more points across the second half of the Premier League campaign. A related point is that under Tuchel, Chelsea won at Liverpool and Man City and drew at home to Man Utd. They managed to pick up only one point against those three opponents when Frank Lampard was in charge in the first part of the season. Essentially, Chelsea have looked much better tactically under Tuchel with the defence organised and tough to break down. Antonio Rudiger returned from the cold and made you wonder why he had been left out so long. In wide areas, Reece James and Ben Chilwell offer plenty and in the centre of the park, N'Golo Kante, a man who knows what it takes to win Premier League titles, remains one of the best midfielders in the league, while Jorginho was arguably Euro 2020's star man. Attack is where Chelsea will need to improve if they are to triumph - they had only the eighth-best record for goals scored last term - but they are clearly working on that. They remain keen on signing Erling Haaland, although Borussia Dortmund don't look likely to sell, while Romelu Lukaku, another of the world's best strikers, has been mentioned as a potential alternative. Money appears to be there for Tuchel to spend and a marquee arrival can be expected before the transfer deadline. But even with the forwards in his current squad, Tuchel has talent to work with. Timo Werner will surely be better with a season in England under his belt and those who watch German soccer will know he's a better finisher than the one we saw for much of last season. The same can be said about Kai Havertz, while more can also be expected from Hakim Ziyech, whose career at Stamford Bridge got off to a bad start due to injury. Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount are others with plenty to offer going forward and a manager of Tuchel's ability should be able to formulate a plan to get the most of these players, something Lampard simply couldn't. On paper, a gap of 20 points is a huge one to bridge but that doesn't take into account how Chelsea picked up after Tuchel's arrival. If anyone is to challenge City this season, I feel it's most likely to be the Blues and they look worth a bet at around 5/1. The pretty stranger seemed almost star-struck as it was practically stacked in Willa's DNA to draw attention. It was a tad endearing honestly. She couldn't remember the last time she felt or looked at anyone in such a manner. Hazel eyes took in the wisp of a woman within arm's length, as she meandered her way through a response. The blooming blush only intensified the adorableness.
Shifting her weight on her four-inch heels, she made a point to put herself in the path of others' line of view before offering up completely unsolicited advice, "Well it sounds like enough time has passed that you can upgrade that connection from mentor to lover." Letting her eyes trail back to the man before she added, "You two would make a cute couple. My love life has all the zeal and excitement of a graveyard currently so someone might as well be getting. it"
She practically beamed as she suggested, "Look, you're beautiful, and that dress is in on point. You two are in the same room with a dance floor. Maybe once things settle down you should ask him for a dance."

Nor does she notice that the soft sigh is audible. Even after years, there's no mistaking how his presence effects her, there's no denying that time has been gentle with him even if there's more silver at his temples than she remembers. Even if Beth is oblivious, the woman a shoulder's length away from her seems to see it, and the query is not something that slips by her. "Mmm? Oh. Ah." A flush of pink sculpts her cheekbones a little more sharply. "No...not...it's...." Complicated. "He's...he was my mentor in another life, long ago."

Premier League predictions: Lawro v Sister Bliss from Faithless
Tottenham have by no means earlier than been to this point above Arsenal going right into a Premier League north London derby, however will type depend for something on Sunday?
Spurs, who’re prime of the desk after 10 matches and haven’t misplaced within the league because the opening weekend of the season, are assured to be no less than 12 locations above the Gunners at kick-off.
Their earlier largest benefit was 11 locations, when Spurs had been tenth and Arsenal had been twenty first earlier than they met on the second weekend of the 1993-94 marketing campaign. Arsenal gained that recreation 1-0.
“Arsenal’s efficiency within the win in opposition to Manchester United firstly of November was glorious,” BBC Sport soccer skilled Mark Lawrenson stated. “However since then they have not come anyplace close to that within the Premier League.”
Lawro is making predictions for all 380 Premier League matches this season, in opposition to a wide range of company.
This weekend, he’s up in opposition to Sister Bliss, from iconic digital outfit Faithless.
Faithless have simply launched All Blessed, their first studio album for 10 years, and have launched a marketing campaign for the Select Love Assist Refugees charity known as #playitforward which is designed to lift cash for charity via the sharing and giving of music.
“Play It Ahead seems like a soccer charity, nevertheless it is not,” Sister Bliss instructed BBC Sport. “Together with a number of different artists, we’re signing and auctioning a number of vinyl to assist people who find themselves residing in probably the most unimaginably robust situations.”
Sister Bliss is an enormous fan of Manchester United ahead Marcus Rashford and his work to lift consciousness of kid meals poverty within the UK. “Props to Marcus. He’s probably the most extraordinary sportsman, and a correct hero. He provides footballers the most effective identify.”
Followers returned to soccer matches this week and Sister Bliss is aware of all concerning the distinction a crowd makes when you find yourself performing – whether or not it’s music or sport.
“In the mean time our new music cannot exist within the area that it was alleged to – with a reside viewers at an indoor venue or competition,” she defined.
“The album is concerning the life we live proper now, and discovering empathy and tolerance, and the issues in life we have to nurture us and join us to one another.
“It’s got very heat vibes – individuals have stated it’s like getting an enormous hug. You may nonetheless expertise that listening to it via your headphones, however I’m simply gutted I am unable to play it to individuals in particular person and have that incredible connection, which is a unprecedented feeling.
“Sport is similar. For the previous few months, the emotion and power you get from being the particular person enjoying in entrance of a crowd, and the place that takes you, has been lacking from the expertise.
“Let’s hope all of us get it again quickly, as a result of all of us yearn to really feel that once more.”

“I really feel like I’ve acquired allegiances in north London and south London,” she added. “Is that even allowed?!”
“However Arsenal in all probability want all of the assist they will get proper now. As Rollo lamented to me this week, they can not get their act collectively in the mean time.”

Match report
SUNDAY
West Brom v Crystal Palace (12:00 GMT)
Palace missed the spark of Wilfried Zaha within the defeats by Burnley and Newcastle – they want him again.
Slaven Bilic’s Baggies beat Sheffield United final week, however they held on for that three factors. He’ll assume this can be a recreation the place his aspect must get three extra. Will he play a barely extra offensive workforce due to that?
I fancy Palace at The Hawthorns although.
Lawro’s prediction: 1-2
Sister Bliss’ prediction: 1-1
Sheff Utd v Leicester (14:15 GMT)
Final season the Blades had been excellent, however they did not rating that many objectives. Strikers David McGoldrick, Oli McBurnie, Lys Mousset and Rhian Brewster, though he is unproven, have all come up from the Championship and that’s the downside.
It is that second-season syndrome. I believe they had been enjoying means above themselves final marketing campaign. They’re nonetheless troublesome to beat however they are not making sufficient possibilities.
I believe Leicester have some actually tremendous gamers however I do not see them ending within the prime six. You’ve got seen within the house video games ahead Jamie Vardy denied area to run into, whereas they’ve gained 4 of their 5 away video games as a result of groups are approaching to them.
I anticipate them to beat the Blades.
Lawro’s prediction: 1-2
Sister Bliss’ prediction: 1-2
Tottenham v Arsenal (16:30 GMT)
Tottenham are a greater aspect than Arsenal, a extra dependable aspect and they’re superior defensively which is largely all the way down to the supervisor and his philosophy.
Jose Mourinho’s forwards Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have additionally been the most effective two within the league bar anyone, and can give the Gunners defence a tricky time assuming Kane is match.
Arsenal do not appear to have leaders in the mean time – so when the going will get robust they do not going.
Their new signing Thomas Partey seemed a participant in midfield, however simply as he acquired began he acquired injured. They actually miss him.
And in assault, since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed his contract… has he been away? It is simply that one purpose because the begin of November.
It is a derby with that added incentive, however with out a lot of a crowd it’s going to be a wierd one.
Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
Sister Bliss’ prediction: I am actually hoping for an Arsenal win however they’re missing confidence in the mean time so that’s not the most certainly consequence right here. There’ll loads of thoughts video games from Jose Mourinho beforehand too. 2-0
Liverpool v Wolves (19:15 GMT)
Wolves have at all times given Liverpool a very good recreation.
They are a respectable aspect, though this season they have been tinkering with their system and have been sluggish starters at occasions. They had been 1-0 down at house in opposition to Southampton and also you had been questioning what they had been doing earlier than they got here again to attract, after which final week they went to Arsenal and made them look bizarre.
They are going to be a purpose risk in opposition to Liverpool, however the house aspect could have the sting.
I believe the Reds have completed properly to this point this season whenever you keep in mind the accidents and so they’ve additionally not had a constant backline. Privately supervisor Jurgen Klopp can be pleased however he is aware of there is a robust time arising.
It is a good factor the assault has been so good, particularly Wolves outdated boy Diogo Jota who already has 9 objectives.
Lawro’s prediction: 2-1
Sister Bliss’ prediction: Liverpool are smashing it in the mean time. I am a fan of Jurgen Klopp, and you may see why his gamers love enjoying for him. 2-1
MONDAY
Brighton v Southampton (20:00 GMT)
Southampton have gotten some good unsung gamers there together with James Ward-Prowse who scored these two cracking objectives in opposition to Aston Villa and grabbed one other within the defeat by Manchester United final week. He’ll be a risk once more in opposition to the Seagulls.
The supervisor has completed a superb job and the membership deserve a pat on the again for holding on to him regardless of that 9-0 defeat in opposition to Leicester final 12 months.
Brighton had been good in opposition to the Reds in final week’s 1-1 draw and have began to seem like an honest aspect. I do know they have not overwhelmed the Saints since they got here as much as the Premier League however I fancy them to finish that run.
Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
Sister Bliss’ prediction: This can be a resort versus a port. I am going with Brighton, as a result of from my touring expertise, they have an extended stretch of sea entrance with a correct promenade and pier to get their cardio train in beforehand. It is nice for operating or roller-blading, which might add a little bit of enjoyable to coaching, would not it? 1-0
How did Lawro do final time?
Final weekend, Lawro acquired three appropriate outcomes from 10 matches, together with one actual rating, for a complete of 60 factors.
He beat Maximo Park frontman Paul Smith, who acquired two appropriate outcomes, together with one actual rating, for a complete of 50 factors.
