hi i am tired as shit of my bpd (borderline personality disorder) and how it makes me feel so i'm projecting bpd onto idv characters that i think would have it. these are my hcs, if you don't agree, that's fine, just don't shit on them since they bring me comfort. also keep in mind this isn't how all people with bpd act. these are my experiences projected onto these characters!

𓊆survivors𓊇 luca balsa (prisoner): the reason i think luca would have bpd because he'd have experiences of feeling abandoned and betrayed. he felt abandoned and betrayed by his own father, and even by herman, and the only one he truly felt supported by was his mother, who died of anger after herman sold off her things after putting them in great debt. this would lead luca to being prone to fearing abandonment, but this would also cause severe trust issues as well as only seeing people in black and white. one second, alva was good, the other, luca was certain that man was up to no good. i also think luca's recklessness adds to my headcanon of him having bpd because he acted on the emotion he feels in the moment, leading him to hurt alva and the fire soon being caused. he seems confident and well-mannered, but on the inside, i believe he's severely anxious and worrying constantly about everything and everyone around him.

mike morton (acrobat): i believe mike would definitely have bpd. he lost majority of his family in the hullabaloo fire, which lead him desperate to make the culprit of the fire pay for what they'd done. i think this would impact him throughout his entire life (as expected), but i think this would cause mike to develop bpd. he'd be terrified of losing the people he loves, and would do anything to keep them safe. he'd act on impulse and act recklessly, and he'd probably end up upsetting the people around him, but they'd understand he has good intentions. mike's emotions would be incredibly strong and he'd get overwhelmed very easily by those emotions. i also think that he sees people in black and white, and he'd be prone to developing a favorite person - which to someone with bpd, that favorite person is like a lifeline.

chloe nair (perfumer): chloe is definitely one of the characters i believe is most likely to have bpd canon-wise. chloe saw her sister vera (the real vera), as a wonderful person until chloe began to grow jealous. she assumed that vera hated her and just pitied her, and chloe became desperate to be noticed and be cared for, to feel special to someone. she struggled to find her own sense of self, and struggled to figure out who she was. her jealousy and anger became so intense and reckless she'd actually gone and killed her sister, thinking that vera didn't care for her or love her anymore. that was until she found vera's journal, and realized she had only been seeing her sister in black and white. she had seen vera for so long as someone who hated her, but the moment she found out that was far from the case, chloe began to feel guilty and broken hearted. then, she took up her twin's identity, and eventually deluded herself into believing she actually WAS her twin sister. chloe had rapid changes in her sense of self, and her intense anger had caused her to do something she regretted, and she hurt the only person who loved and cared for her.

margaretha zelle (female dancer): margie is another character i think is very likely for bpd canon-wise. she's had two horrible relationships (idc what jokermarg fans say he canonly abused her and wears her abusive husband's face, as his own that's horrible). this would lead margaretha to feel distrust in people, and is afraid of getting attached to people. once she's attached to someone, though? she wouldn't be able to let them go. if they end up treating her right, they would quickly become her favorite person. she'd end up somewhat gatekeeping that person from others - not intentional, but she'd be terrified of abandonment and terrified of losing the one person who has been so good to her. she fears being separated from her favorite person, and gets jealous quite easily when her favorite person shares their attention with others. she's quick to self degrade, and blames herself for everything. the littlest things set her off and sometimes, she is quick to anger. she fears rejection and will often take her favorite person's actions as rejection.

norton campbell (prospector): i don't know how many people would think norton has bpd, but he's someone i think would have bpd (obviously, he's on this list lol). the fandom treats norton poorly by expressing that he's only greedy and only wants money - and while that is part of his lore, it isn't the entirety of his lore. in fact, norton is shown to feel rather guilty for blowing up the mine with the miners inside of it, and it seems to haunt him. his personality also seems to switch quite often, as though expressing he isn't sure of his sense of self. of course, that could also be norton being bipolar, but i also think that norton sees people in black and white. he'd probably fear abandonment and rejection, and yes, would probably believe money would solve all those problems, but he'd try to avoid attachment as much as possible. he's quick to anger and acts rather recklessly when he's angry. he'd deal with episodes that are just paranoia run that could last for days (he'd shun himself away from the world in his room).

naib subedar (mercenary): now, not all bpd is caused by trauma, but i do think naib's trauma would cause him to develop bpd. he'd find himself horrified upon losing people he cares about, which would lead to abandonment (especially watching his comrades die in his arms). he'd become extremely protective which would lead to somewhat extreme measures to keep his loved ones safe, but he always means well. he gets jealous easily but unlike others, he tries to keep it to himself and ends up bottling it up out of worry he'll just drive the person he loves most away. unlike most people on this list, i think naib would handle his bpd a little better than the others, but he'd still struggle with it. he's very understanding to others who have it, and tries to help them out with handling it, but he still struggles with it himself. if he bottles it up too much or if his favorite person isn't understanding, he'll end up lashing out angrily though other survivors i hc with bpd but don't have full reasons yet: freddy riley (lawyer), kevin alonso/ayuso (cowboy), and tracy reznik (mechanic), edgar valden, jose baden (first officer) and demi bourbon (barmaid)

𓊆hunters𓊇

joseph desaulniers (photographer): i think jojo is one of the more obvious bpd hcs. he lost his twin brother claude, who was clearly his favorite person, and that tore him apart. just canon alone, you can guess he'd have bpd. his fear of abandonment would be so strong that he'd act recklessly to ensure that he wouldn't be separated or abandoned by his favorite person, and would do anything to preserve their life and keep them safe. i also think his bpd and depression would lead to excessive drinking, and even if that would stop once he'd get a new favorite person, he'd end up drinking every time he fears they are going to abandon him or every time he becomes angry and jealous of the time they give with others. he has a hard time figuring out if someone is actually doing something wrong or if its just the way his brain is making him think.

michiko (geisha): unlike many others on this list, she handles her bpd very well, and instead of anger episodes when her bpd acts up, she has depressive episodes. she'll lock herself in her room for a long time, and will often cry and sob as a way to get out all her frustration and her feelings. she's one of the few on this list who i headcanon to be better at self reassurance than most. it doesn't always work, and she'll still need support from others around her, but she'll manage to self reassure herself quite often. michiko still fears abandonment though, and often has trouble understanding why people stay around her and stay close to her. she misses miles dearly, and miles is still her favorite person. she tries not to let the bpd get the best of her, and tries to stay strong, knowing miles loved her, flaws and all.

leo beck (hell ember): leo was betrayed by freddy and martha, and was left in severe debt and no way to properly provide for emma and take care of her. that alone is a recipe for disaster, and i think its likely leo would develop bpd (as well as trust issues). he'd have a hard time seeing himself as anything good, and would often struggle to figure out who he is. some little things would be he'd have a hard time telling if he genuinely likes things emma likes because he likes it too, or if he only enjoys it because she does. that being said, emma is leo's favorite person, but like michiko, leo handles his bpd very well. he knows emma loves him and knows that she'd never betray him and never hurt him. he trusts her, and reminds himself of that whenever his mind tries to tell him otherwise. he's very protective of emma, and the thought of being separated from her or losing her would send him into a pretty strong panic attack.

xie bi'an and fan wujiu (wu chang): i think both bi'an and wujiu have bpd, or are likely to have it. for awhile, the two had lost one another, and the other took his own life to join his companion in death. the two would deeply be afraid of separation and would deeply be afraid of losing the other one. such a fear would often consume them, but luckily, they have one another in the manor (shh i know canonly they can't both be present at the same time during matches but my manor hc allows them to be present together outside of matches). they're very sensitive to the other one getting hurt (god forbid you flare gun one of them in duos, the other will take his place and obliterate you). they're very protective of one another and will go to intense measures to protect each other.

other hunters i hc with bpd but don't have full reasons yet: robbie white (axe boy), ann (disciple), alva lorenz (hermit), and percy (undead)

MUSE: Dr. Vera Nair

what does your muse smell like?

Always the lingering scent of hospital disinfectant, paper, hot cocoa, and the distinct tang of blood. It's in her hair and on her skin, even her shampoo never washes it away for long.

what do your muse’s hands feel like?

This is a woman who prizes her hands above all else. With them she holds back death and creates wonders on strings, and she treats them with care. Her hands are soft, her fingers strong and slender. She makes time to give herself a manicure every few days. A single thin scalpel scar on her left hand is the bane of her existence.

what does your muse usually eat in a day?

When a caring loved one reminds her to eat or requires feeding, she'll eat well. Unfortunately, though she is a fine cook, she does not enjoy cooking only for herself and will stick to lighter fare such as fruit, toast with jam or butter, or a can of soup. If it comes down to it, and it has, she can eat anything without complaint. However, for someone with such a powerful memory, quite often she genuinely forgets to eat and works through meals. Her favorite foods might be a spicy reminder of her childhood home or, failing that, a delectable fresh bread.

does your muse have a good singing voice?

She does. She simply isn't as comfortable sharing her singing voice as her violin music, but once in a while she might sing a few bars while caught up in the moment.

does your muse have any bad habits or nervous tics?

Nothing that could be considered a nervous tic, however she does have bad habits. The most obvious is that she never stops. Some part of her always needs to be doing something. She took up yoga as a teenager to help with her focus, but to this day she treats it as a frustrating part of her regular exercise routine that she isn't as good at as she'd like to be. Flexible, yes. Relaxed, no. Smoking a cigarette sometimes helps. It's the ritual that keeps her fingers busy and lets her mind finally slow down.

what does your muse usually look like/wear?

In the field, when not in scrubs and a white lab coat or her medic uniform, she tends to wear her much beloved green anorak over either a thick sweater and jeans in colder weather or a soft, muted tee over shorts in warmer. When on the job in a more professional setting, carefully ironed blouses are tucked into belted trousers. Subtle patterns and soft prints abound. Ideally, she wears shoes she can run in for all occasions. This one does a lot of running and prefers her clothing to be practical. Pockets. Breathable fabric. Reversible. She almost always appears put together. Light makeup, clean nails, hair exactly as she likes it: Chin-length, curly, and full of bounce. Her eyes reflect a world of emotion. At times they appear whiskey brown, flecked with amber in the proper light. More often, they are shaded with a sadness or pain that she cannot quite hide.

is your muse affectionate? how much? how so?

She certainly can be. Vera has a deep capacity for love. She'll quietly cook meals for two, hunt for the perfect little something, or maybe just trace her fingers over a bare patch of skin. More than that? Find out for yourself.

what position does your muse sleep in?

No particular position. She does sleep much better with a partner, either platonic or romantic, ideally maintaining some form of physical contact. The nightmares are lighter and she is more likely to sleep longer.

could you hear your muse in the hallway from another room?

Vera rarely yells. She has a harsh doctor voice that her wiser colleagues fear, but the closest she comes to yelling is her surgical bark. That can't be heard outside the operating theater, but if need be it can ring throughout the field camp.

Girls night with these three is actually pretty fun. While Vera might seem like a hard ass, when she relaxes she's actually pretty chill

Demi of course always brings the drinks. Unless s/o is like 20 then she'll bring juice or soda for them or if they just aren't a fan of alcohol

Margarethe always playing the record player to some type of music to dance to

And Vera likes doing makeup. If s/o doesn't know how to apply makeup she'll gladly show them how and give tips, she'll even do their hair. She just really loves making her girlfriends and s/o feel beautiful

Probably had to snatch a glass from Demi to prevent her from messing up her recently applied lipstick

Meanwhile, Margie is gushing about how Vera did such a great job

They all talk about how their week went or about funny parts of their life

If s/o is okay with it, they like having a cuddle pile. Demi will have her head in someone's lap, Margie leaning on someone's side, and Vera having someone lay on her somewhat

If s/o is from a modern period. They all probably watch movies, shows, or YouTube on their computer, or watch s/o play games on it. The same goes for the Nintendo switch if they have one

S/o probably played a new game called inscryption and all three of them immediately wanted a real game mode for Norton since the dude you're playing against is a prospector

S/o doesn't know why they want that, but oh well

Demi knows how to cook really well. So she makes a shit ton of food for the night, so much that she tells the girls and s/o they need to come to the main kitchen with her and help her carry all the food back to the dorm

"Because. Just because."

Margie playing all the songs on the computer to max volume. Good thing the manor walls are silent proof

She also definitely made s/o dance with her and dragged Vera along. Demi was already dancing

Probably had another cuddle pile and just watch TikTok

Demi likes the cooking accident videos

Margie likes the videos where the comment section is hilarious. Or the one's that read tweeter posts

Vera likes almost everything. But mostly the storytime videos

They also learned about covid that way

Nearly forced the manor to wear masks until s/o told them there's no way to catch it if they can't leave to begin with

If s/o has any pets. Margie is definitely hogging them

None of them even go to bed they just fall asleep in whatever position they're in and regret it in the morning due to neck pain

I took this and ran a MILE because omg, Vera may be a notable foe against hunters, but she won't be afraid to go against other survivors

TW: mentions of violence , choking , hate against a character (Kreacher)

Vera is a woman that has shown herself to be a strong woman, she has shown herself to be a reliable and always ready to help a teammate and it has secured her place in what you would call the 'inner circle' — these are survivors that are incredibly talented at the game, and if you had them on your team you were guaranteed a win or a tie as long as something didn't happen early match.

This didn't mean that she was snobby or had her head up her ass either; she chose to date you for a reason, she's a woman that enjoys someone who she can connect to, even if she cannot remember certain things due to her self-inflicted short term memory due to euphoria. In fact, you were the reason she began to take her diary more seriously as a way to make sure she never forgot the important things. She even started carrying her diary around with her in order to jot down little notes every once in a while in case she may forget something.

The smile on her face every time you would talk to her was enough to brighten up a room, sure, it may be something small or having to tell her in words that you needed her to do something, but the smile she would always give whenever she heard your voice was just... so pure and wonderful. She truly did love you, and even if she wanted to hear your voice all the time, she knew that she shouldn't push you to speak all the time, as even the silent discussions the two of you would have was enough to her.

The day she heard other survivors mocking the fact you didn't talk... You didn't even need to ask her to know she was in a bad mood. If you bring it up first to her, she'll ask how long they've been mocking you for your vocal ability, if you don't wish to talk about it she won't confront you about it.

Don't get me started on if a survivor tries to mock you right in front of her or to her because she won't hold back; she isn't an inner circle survivor for nothing as she isn't afraid to kick a hunter's ass, so why was another survivor any different? She wouldn't be afraid to choke another out, she wasn't afraid to give them a black eye if they dared insult you to her: she had done it before for a completely different reason when Kreacher had tried to force gender roles onto the women of the manor. That man's personality when it came to the gender roles was as bad as his smell.

If you tell her to not go after the other survivors, she won't; she respects you too much to go against your wishes and as much as she was a woman that did anything in her power to rise up above the gender norms but she hated seeing you upset.

As much as she would want for you to forget the mockery of your mutism, she swore to herself she would not force euphoria upon you as she hated the effects it brought to her long term, she also didn't want you forgetting about your relationship with her if she was to use too much of it on you.

"Those people don't know what they're talking about — you are the Vera Nair's special lover, you are the person I chose, and I chose you because I love you." She would mutter over and over on occasion, most likely while giving you a facial with some of the beauty care products she was able to bring to the manor.

She would spoil you rotten if it meant seeing you smile against all odds.

He doesn’t really worry getting catched staring at you. He has his blindfold on! If you look at him he would quickly move his head away from you and pretends that he is petting Brooke or something. With a nervous yet soft smile. Like he didn’t just stare in amazement at you. Bro was even blushing.

He has fallen head-over-heels for you.

- SOME doctor mains are pure toxic and others are so sweet (the latter i appreciate uwu)

- i can understand that you are kinda selfish since you ALWAYS want to be healed and if someone doesn’t help you during a match, you get so frustrated

- you don’t like kitting all that much but absolutely WANT to go save your teammate just because of the points or you’re in need of your team’s victory

- you can be selfish BUT you know when to put others before you

- you prefer to stay hidden and decode and will go save only if ABSOLUTELY NECCESSARY

Hey, can I please have some headcanons of Luchino and Vera giving their y/n a bath because they rarely have one.

A/N: I had 0 ideas for this and that’s why it’s been sitting here for 3 months

Luchino/Vera bathing (with) their s/o

Luchino

He would definitely notice if you didn't bathe very often. Wheather it'd be because of health or mental health problems, stress or because you're satisfied with just getting a wet rag and scrubbing down without the comfort of being surrounded by warm water. It doesn’t matter, he’s gonna notice

He would then offer to bathe with you.

C'mon reptiles like warmth. Baths are warm, you're warm, win-win situation.

Good luck on finding a bathtub that fits both of you tho.

Of course, if you refuse at first he'll ask you why and try to convince you.

You're most likely going to end up completely entangled staying in the bath until both of you are half asleep.

You can’t fall asleep though because you would drown, so eventually you have to leave the bath, dry off and probably go straight to bed without even bothering to put clothes on

Vera

She doesn't try to sound mean she's just used to dozens of perfumes and from experience, being used to a lot of strong scents makes it weird to even just percieve no scent at all.

She’s gonna force you to bathe but she probably won’t join you. She stays next to the bathtub and keeps getting you drinks, massaging your scalp or adding another 20 different oils and soaps to the water so that it’s perfect, just perfect.

Anything less than perfect won’t do. Not when it’s about you.

Trying to take care of you if her way of showing that she cares about you, providing you with the only thing she knows how to provide you with.

However, if you so much as ask her to join you because it’d make you feel better you’re gonna have her in your arms in 10 seconds.

Though she does prefer to just care for you, who can say no to warm water snuggles?

After the bath she’ll probably want to care for you some more. If you have long hair she’d care for that, if you have any left over muscle pains she’ll try to give you a massage.

She’s very sweet, just not good with words.

When she cares for you she can forget about the past for a bit, you help her with that so she want to help you in return. She now has another person that truly loves her and she does not want to screw this up too.

margie x vera birthday hcs

happy birthday to margie! sorry I'm a little late with these, but I wanted to write something for my favorite ship. I really think margevera is cute. I'm going to try to write more often and work on the like 40 asks in my box. ty guys for still supporting me even though I have been gone for quite some time ♡ hopefully this doesn't seem too ooc, this is how I headcanon them to be together. I think vera is much more withdrawn unless margie is involved.

so, vera is most likely not big on birthdays. unless it comes to the people close to her (margie). vera tries to go as all out as possible.

she definitely worked with the people she felt decently comfy with (emily, martha, and emma) to coordinate a birthday party for her, specifically a surprise party. she wants to surprise margie with all of her friends because she knows that's what margie really likes.

vera is probably nervous to talk with them though, and she feels awkward asking them for favors.

however, vera still opts to spoil margie with gifts because she knows margie also appreciates the finer things in life and anything margie gets from vera is worn any time she isn't in a match.

vera definitely makes a specialized perfume for margie based on her favorite aromas but also what vera thinks would complement her natural scent.

she might be stoic, cocky, or difficult around others, but with margie she simply melts.

if margie has a match that day, vera has probably worked out with the manor owner to either get it rescheduled or to allow vera to go with her.

margie definitely gets birthday kisses and cuddles inside their room, but in public vera is much more reserved and quiet, opting to gently link pinkies with margie or keep her hand on margie's thigh or knee.

vera probably planned a nice picnic for the two of them. (think of the one art of them on the little picnic with ballerina margie and vera feeding her a strawberry)

she 100% makes sure they're in a secluded part of the garden and that nobody else is around so she can be comfortable with margie.

vera wants everything to be absolutely perfect and aesthetic. every piece of cake is perfectly cut, the drinks are evenly poured, the food is plated to margie's liking.

margie's heart bursts at how vera remembers everything margie likes and takes so much time to prepare everything just for her. vera is definitely going to be covered in faint lipstick stains.

they probably walk through the gardens around sunset (while the others prepare the party shh) and vera probably links arms with margie until she gains the confidence to clasp their fingers together. I feel like margie is around my height (5'2) and vera is tall enough that margie can rest against vera comfortably.

margie likes watching the sunsets, and vera will ask margie if she had a good birthday, trying to keep her tone even to not give away the fact that it isn't over.

the birthday girl is probably tearing up over everything. she has never felt so loved and appreciated by anyone.

when vera leads her back, margie practically jumps out of her skin when everyone pops out to surprise her at the manor.

she hugs and kisses everyone (who is okay with it) on the cheek to thank them. but she's definitely surprised when she hears vera put most of the effort into planning it.

vera probably steps back and lets margie enjoy her party with her friends while she chills in the corner or at the tables. parties aren't exactly her thing, but she's happy to observe margie as she laughs and dances around with her friends, hugging them tightly as she clasps gifts in her hands tightly.

by the end of the night, margie has so many gifts and things that she needs help to bring them to her room.

her favorites are the stuffed toys (I hc that she loves collecting stuffed animals like the bear in her 'man in dream' skin)

at the end of the night when she's done arranging her things and changing, she sneaks off to vera's room to visit her (wearing a light mist of the perfume she got of course)

they end up cuddling and before bed, vera tells margie to blow out the candle for one last birthday wish. afterwards she falls asleep in vera's arms listening to her softly hum, and when she thinks margie is asleep, she presses a kiss on her hair and tucks them both in.
