just remember, the studios not paying their writers and actors fairly caused the strike
which caused venom 3 to be delayed
never forget that the people responsible for this are NOT the writers and actors. this all falls on the rich fucks at the studios who refuse to give up a tiny fraction of their profits to pay the people who make their products.
the big studios took away your symbrock
not the little guys

I’m reaching and giving this movie credits where they are not due, but Eddie and his other not being able to fully manifest as Venom out of fear of being instantly attacked does unironically feels like metaphor for homophobia.

if venom ever, ever, finds his way back to eddie, he's gonna spend every morning reassuring eddie that he's still there

having evil thoughts and thinking about eddie dying instead of venom. venom somehow getting ripped from eddie during woodchipper fight, flung underneath a helicopter door surrounded by fire where he can't escape from. somehow eddie makes it to the acid, mr soldier blows everything up and venom can't do anything but watch. helplessly they try to lift the door but it's too heavy and it's getting too hot and the fire is everywhere. and this time it's permanent. eddie is dead and venom can't fix him, can't get to him in time.
he manages to barely get away in a cockroach, skittering to new york, vengeance and revenge overtaking every single part of them as he takes in the statue of liberty. he leaves his host, thinking, we'll see each other soon eddie, as they let themselves die- and then he gets snatched up by a piece of webbing

Thinking how Venom probably won't survive in his world anymore if he leaves Eddie and Earth in general. Everyone (due to hivemind) knows he's a traitor, and he himself mentioned that he's "a loser" back on his own planet. Out there, it's kill or be killed, eat or be eaten. Venom changed Eddie just as much as Eddie changed Venom, and even if Eddie will be able to live without him somehow, Venom most likely won't be able to do that. Other symbiotes may kill him for the treason alone.
(Not to mention that there won't be more perfect host for V other than Eddie. :((( )

little things that jumped out at me on TLD rewatch:
in Vegas, Eddie doesn't even notice the crowd of showgirls he passes through, let alone turn around to look at him
Venom and Eddie blink together in the dogfighting scene where half of each of their faces are visible
for all their bickering and Eddie's odd "You stole my life!", they're in sync before they start getting hunted by the xenophage and Eddie kills a woman, fighting together, acting with mutual purpose, joking a bit, the face lick -- really, he's going through one thing after the next the whole movie, he is not his best self, and we already know he doesn't handle stress well
Eddie is largely at peace with Venom's shenanigans. It can read as resigned, but he's not mad when Venom destroys the bar and knocks the guys out or even when he breaks his foot; he's the voice of reason but he's accepted that this what Venom is like and is ultimately fine with it.
Most importantly:
Eddie reached out to Venom as Venom was dying. Eddie could have run away. Instead he chose to die with Venom even though he didn't have to.
So: who cares about the "You stole my life," who cares about the montage and "friend" and "I won't forget you, buddy 🙂" -- Eddie wanted to die with Venom

There has to be something poetic that Venom, despite high frequency sounds being lethal to him, he still loves music.
A thing that could potentially kill him if it gets to a certain point, is one of his favorite things in the world.
Idk. He interesting.

In venom 4 Venom gets back to eddie somewhat quickly, but venom is still pretty weak so he's unable to transform or transfer back to eddie. The rest of this part of the film is split between Eddie's and Venoms POV as venom tries to communicate ( unsuccessfully ) with eddie.
Half way through the film, Late at night, Eddie decides to take a shortcut thought an alley way and gets held at gunpoint for films reasons. Film stuff happens and they shoot at eddie. Eddie flinches, but just before he closes his eyes he sees from the bottom right of his vision a cockaroach seemingly jumping in front of him just in time to block the bullet.
The thugs are surprised and terrified as they try to comprehend what happened in front of them. They just saw a cockaroach appear from a dark corner, moving in a speed that should not be possible, somehow jumping and stopping the bullet. As they are still trying to understand it all, they notice that not only is the bug not dead, but its currently skittering closer to their location.
In a panic the thugs start shooting wildly both at eddie but more at the cockaroach. To the awh and horror of everyone the insect moves in a hard to see flash bodyblocking every single bullet. If it wasn't for the fact it was a bug it would almost seem magestic. The thugs decide this is not worth it and just run away.
Eddie stands there dumbfounded as the cockaroach watches the thugs run, when they are out of sight it turns around and stares at him. Having been familiar with the unnatural for over a year, and feeling desperate at the first sign of it coming back , he asks "Buddy, is that you?". His eyes tear up as he sees the bug jumping up and down in what he assumes is joy.
The rest is now about the evil guy thats hinted around the first half of film. However throughout the film at what seems like random moments different pieces of a qr code appear, small and hard to find. Putting all the pieces together and scanning it takes you to a video of Venom and Eddie fucking nasty style.
This was meant to just be me writing down an idea that turned into fanfiction.

theoretically- if venom and eddie’s lifeforces became one when venom saved him and the codex was created, could eddie live without venom?
like their LITERAL LIFEFORCES aren’t separate anymore. would that have any effect on eddie?
and obviously he can live for some time because of the ending, but can he forever? or if the post-credit scene really is alluding to a piece of venom still being alive, is eddie only alive for that reason??
i just feel like merged lifeforces being separated would have a physical effect on whoever was left behind

venom 3 rewatch thoughts
so i just rewatched venom: the last dance again, and i don't know if anyone has ever expressed the same thought as me before, but the first watch, i was really shocked venom insisted on dancing with mrs. chen, because of course, venom would never jeapordize eddie's safety
but then after rewatching it, i've come to realize the small details of venom having big dreams, and i don't know if im looking too deep into it, but isn't there a psychology behind like people who know they're going to die soon and wanting to achieve their 'bucket list', let's say inmates on death row getting their final meals which usually consist of large amounts of food, or grandiose foods in general i know venom and eddie had already planned to move to new york before the main conflict was revealed, but after that venom became even more insistent that they must go to new york,
i think after the warming events that played out with martin's family, and having that neurika (? correct me if im wrong) talk with martin, venom finally came to his senses and finally accepted that it was the end for them (for now), i think it was the same for eddie too, but i think eddie was still in his 'bargaining' phase within the 5 stages of grief.
then we get a touching scene at the vegas strip, and the tone of the movie briefly changes to one that's more sweet and sad at the same time, about venom truly wanting to meet lady liberty one day !! i think the scene that foreshadowed the most about their future grief is venom saying they'll watch some broadway, and eddie was like sure, and venom was a bit shocked because eddie had never liked musicals !!
back to my saying, about isn't there a psychology behind people knowing they're going to die and so they try to achieve bucket lists or major dreams of theirs they haven't achieved yet. i think that's what venom was doing. venom had already accepted that he needed to die for eddie to live and that's why he had these grandiose dreams of going to new york and 'meeting' lady liberty and taking eddie to go see broadway.
then we meet mrs. chen, and venom just HAD to dance with her. venom said eddie never does what he wants, and venom finally went full form to dance with mrs. chen. it was literally venom: the last dance.
so what's my conclusion?
my conclusion is, venom still would NEVER jeapordize eddie's safety. he had his fun with mrs. chen and went full form because venom had already accepted the fact that he was going to have to part ways with eddie (for now). venom just always had a flare for the dramatics (let's not forget venom 1 and 2)!
i think even if they didn't meet mrs. chen or something, venom would somehow still give himself in, basically sacrificing himself, and show a dramatic way of doing it :)

Could you imagine someone loving you the way Venom loves Eddie? It doesn’t even have to be romantic love. Could you imagine someone loving you so much that they are truly willing to die for you on three separate occasions? Could you imagine being on someone’s mind so often that even if the gestures they perform aren’t perfect, they’re still thoughtful and tailored to basically what you need? Could you imagine someone having such pure and unfiltered affection for you that it seemingly never fails to make itself known when they’re talking to you or about you or something that’s even tangently related to you?
The way Venom loves Eddie actually makes me sick because it really is something that could only exist in fiction.
And I’ve always said Venom and Eddie are probably the closest thing Marvel will get to soulmates without straight up making soulmates. Like even though the Sony movies were not by any means perfect, you could still tell that at least someone cared enough about these characters to give them some qualities that make the two of them work. And even if some people don’t want to admit it or acknowledge it, what really makes Venom as a concept work is the push and pull nature of Eddie and the symbiote’s relationship and how despite their troubles (internal or external) they do love each other deeply and that love they feel for each other is nothing to be ashamed of.
And when they do make their way back to each other (because they always do) I hope whoever writes/directs that movie understands this. 😭
