Dream Bright Bubble Bath- i can’t wait to use this. Dream Bright is a wonderful sophisticated scent that makes me feel so fancy. it’s perfect for a night out (or in the bath with a glass of wine!). i don’t currently have a bathtub in my apartment but i’m hoping i can borrow my partner’s after he moves to try this out ✨

Sparkling Orange Spritz- this is AMAZING! i’ve been obsessed with Orange soda lately and this smells just like it! i love that they captured the bubbliness in the scent 🧡🍊

Vanilla Mocha Martini- i had this scent in a body lotion when it was vanilla mocha cafe. i kind of forgot about it for a while, but decided to pick it up in the mist on sale. it’s such a nice creamy scent with some coffee in there as well. i love it for fall and winter because it reminds me of drinking hot coffee in a cozy sweater ☕️

Sun Soul Radiating- i love this scent sooo much so i had to grab another cream on sale! it smells the way the sun feels on your skin in the summer and i’m not sure how they captured that in scent but it’s fantastic! 🌞

Mango Mai Tai Lip Gloss- amazing! the lip gloss formula in the skinny tubes is so great. i have the candy corn one for fall and needed a more summery scent. this has a nice bright fruity scent to it. 🥭

Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla Candle- so i have the candle that blended this with paris cafe and i love it! my partner liked this one so i picked it up for him since i have it in a blend. it’s a wonderful sugary cinnamon that smells like baking dessert! 🍨

Patchouli & Rosewood- i love patchouli so when i saw this on sale i had to grab it! it’s true to its name. i think patchouli is such a cozy scent and i’m hoping to light this one up today. 💓

Watermelon Mojito- i liked this when i smelled it but didn’t want a full size. i saw the mini on sale and decided to grab it. this scent is amazing, it mixes the sweetness of watermelon with a bubbly drink scent and fresh mint. 🍉

Coco Paradise Hand Cream- this scent is great! it smells like a salty creamy coconut. i also love coconut hand creams as it feels they moisturize my hands more for some reason! 🥥

Smell Like Chocolate🍫.

Dear Twenty-Ones,

It’s only reasonable that your fragrance scents change with the seasons. You don’t exactly want to smell like “Fiji” or “Coconut Hibiscus” in December. Many people opt for sweet holiday scents such as peppermint and vanilla bean. I grew up with those particular scents being widely popular. Large bottles of perfume and lotions would be displayed at the very front of Bath & Body Works each Christmas.

One scent I never really thought to look for however…is chocolate. This season I did plenty of research and found some of the best products to layer to smell like a walking mug of hot cocoa. Not only will you smell delicious but also very different than the rest of the girls.

Here are my top picks for layering the chocolate scent:

Philosophy: Pink Frosted Animal Cracker. ($17) This sweet vanilla, cracker scented body wash/shampoo is my top recommendation for the first step. This body wash soothes the skin and establishes a nice vanilla base scent. I found this in Marshall’s and TjMaxx!

B&BW: Vanilla Mocha Martini Lotion. ($14) The name is as accurate as it gets. This lotion can be layered above your normal body lotion to lock in hydration and a mocha scent. It smells super sweet but doesn’t last on the skin long so you may have to reapply. This is a cheaper option for lotion.

Fenty: Butta Drop Limited Edition. ($45) Now ladies, hear me when I say that this is the absolute best body cream I have tried in a while. It smells like cinnamon and butter. It has a nice shimmer and also makes your skin soft. I layer this after my standard lotion in areas, such as my arms, neck, and chest, that may be exposed to others. This is a more pricey option for lotion but is highly recommended. Mind you that the Butta Drop Limited Edition is only in stores for a select amount of time!

Choco Musk Al-Rehab. ($12) Arabic perfumes have become well known within the last few years. Choco Musk by Al-Rehab is a staple perfume/oil. It smells like powdered hot chocolate with melted marshmallows on top. It has notes of vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon, white musk, sandalwood, etc. This is a cheap option for perfume and can be found on Amazon!

Eilish by Billie Eilish. ($68) This is an amber gourmand perfume with hints of warm berries, vanilla, cocoa, warm musk, and soft spices. This is on the pricier side of perfumes. It can be found in Ulta!

25. Perfumes/Body Spray or Lotion?

Not sure if it's asking which I use or what scents, but I use both, but I don't use the body spray as often as I use the lotion. I have 4 different scents (all from bath and body works). I have Warm Vanilla Sugar which is my soothing/comfort scent, Vanilla Mocha Martini which is my go-to for most of the year, Twisted Peppermint which is my go-to for December, and Marble from the Men's Collection for when I'm feeling more masculine.

Personality- Completely uninhibited & fearless, she captures the attention of any room she enters. She's magnetic, alluring, empathetic, and totally comfortable in her own skin. She's pansexual & is in a committed throuple.

Sponde is in the small list of spirits deities- the most well known being Dionysus (god of wine, fertility, madness, ecstasy, the arts, & theater).

She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. As the goddess of libations her other powers/abilities include limited alcokinesis, limited pyrokinesis (her flame burns a dark gold color), limited ambrosia manipulation, & hydroportation (through alcohol).

Sponde lives in an apartment suite at the royal palace with her partners- a maenad named Lyra and a satyr named Costas. The color scheme are in rich deep hues of bronze, red, orange, & gold. There's lots of silk and satin furniture along with a built in bar as well as a room that houses her collection of spirits- wine, champagne, beer, & rum. One such addition to her collection was an induction gift from Zeus- the oldest mead dating back to the Titanomachy! It's over several thousand years old and it is kept in an ornate Imperial Gold bottle.

She's fond of wearing various body jewelry.

Sponde has an animal companion- a dragon named Valtaro. He has cobalt and bronze scales with gold claws, horns, crests, & wings. He's her usual mode of transportation and is also quite protective of her partners.

She's a member of The Horae. Her main responsibilities include guiding the tour group to the best eateries in the city. She almost always cover the early evening shifts at the palace's gift shop.

There's too many alcoholic drinks that she enjoys with a recent favorite being the chocolate martini. She also likes bourban ball cocktails, rum punch, New Olympus Iced Teas, pinot noir, & the p*rn star cocktail- a drink made with vanilla flavored vodka, passionfruit puree, a bit of sparkling wine, lime juice, and vanilla syrup. Her usuals from The Roasted Bean is an olympian sized iced dark chocolate mocha & a large orange passionfuit splash.

Sponde loves eating Lyra's egg sandwiches (added with sundried tomatoes, rosemary, & feta cheese) and Costas' warm and gooey sticky buns (also drizzled with dark chocolate sauce) for breakfast.

She values all her individual friendships with the other members of The Horae.

Sponde has been with her partners for a few years. They first came across each other during the Dionysia holiday, where the parade was being held in the Mania neighborhood. They got along so well that they continued hanging out at a restuarant, talking till it was closing time! After exchanging contact info on Fatestagram, Lyra invited them out to a retreat where her cousin lived in Thebes for a long weekend. During the retreat, the three of them became intimate. The memory still brings tears to Sponde's eyes, looking back on how gentle, passionate, & meaningful it was. They've been inspereable ever since. Sponde was ever grateful to Zeus when he allowed for her partners to move in the palace. Before her partners, she dated Helios (Titan god of the sun).

She knows about the looks & whispers her relationship gets, but Sponde doesn't give a damn. They're all comfortable in the bond they share as well as what they each contribute to the relationship. Sponde doesn't mind answering questions, but finds the unwanted commentary disrespectful- especially from the likes of Aeschyne (goddess of modesty & honor), The Litae, and Eusebeia (goddess of peity, loyalty, duty, & filial respect).

A guilty pleasure for her are the olympian burgers from Olympic Chef. She always buys two with extra red onions, feta cheese, & tzatziki sauce!

In the pantheon Sponde's also friends with Agathodaemon (Daemon) (god of vineyards, grainfields, & luck), Palioxis (goddess of backrush & retreat), Oeno (goddess of berries & wine), Kéfi (goddess of mirth), Damia (goddess of naturalness), Sardo (one of The Nesoi), Elpis (goddess of hope), Philotes (goddess of sex, friendship, & affection), Argía (goddess of holidays), Felis (Titaness of cats), Kósmima (goddess of adornment), Matikós (god of performance), Epimetheus (Titan god of afterthought), and Pan (god of the wild, satyrs, shepherds, & rustic music).

She finds it sweet that Dionysus looks up to her as a maternal figure.

One of her favorite make-up products to use is the Hot Intoxication liquid glitter eyeliner in the shade "Champagne Candy." She also likes the Olmorfia gel powder highlighter in "Perfectly Pyrite."

Sponde is the undefeated champ of the Mystês Amusement Park for riding the gigantic mechanical bull the longest without being thrown off!

Solaire Resort’s Chocolate Month Features Chocolate Afternoon Tea and Chocolate Sunday Brunch

Solaire Resort and Casino is celebrating Chocolate Month this July with a delectable array of chocolate-inspired treats and promotions. Oasis Garden Cafe is featuring a unique and indulgent chocolate-themed afternoon tea that is available daily from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The Hungry Kat was invited to sample this very luscious afternoon treat last week and I am already planning to go back for more of this chocolate haven.

Solaire Resort will make all our chocolate fantasies come true as they embark on the Solaire Chocolate Festival. Throughout the month of July, there will be special chocolate afternoon tea sets at Oasis Garden Café as well as new chocolate-inspired cakes and bespoke chocolate bars at The Patisserie. There will also be a special Chocolate Sunday Brunch at specific hotel restaurants every Sunday so you will never run out of sweet chocolatey options.

Oasis Garden Cafe is the hotel’s lobby lounge located at the Sky Tower Atrium. This is a more secluded area that is away from the noisy casinos and crowds. You can find it near the luxury shops just across Fresh International Buffet.

They also have a pianist and violinist playing classical and contemporary tunes to give the cafe a more sophisticated dining ambiance.

Oasis Garden Cafe offers a wide selection of coffee, tea, traditional snacks and artisanal finger sandwiches during the day. By night, the Garden Café transforms into a stylish lounge that offers a full complement of cocktails and drinks.

For the entire month of June and July, Oasis Garden Cafe transforms into a chocolate haven with chocolate desserts and its Chocolate Afternoon Tea. Solaire Resort Executive Pastry Chef Ben Haslett made sure that guests will be able to enjoy a variety of chocolate-infused treats, from cakes to pastries and savory bites as they celebrate Chocolate Month.

Guests will also be able to indulge in a variety of cakes, including Chocolate on Chocolate, Intense Chocolate Choux, and Mocha & Caramel. Bon bons on offer include Vanilla Bean and Milk Chocolate Auro 42%, Yuzu & Black Sesame Auro Paquibato 70%, Mango Coconut Crunch with Auro White Chocolate, and Raspberry with Auro Saloy 70%.

The main attraction at Oasis Garden Cafe this July is the Chocolate Afternoon Tea (P1,900+) in partnership with Auro Chocolate. I was really excited to sample this special chocolate set which I had yet to try.

I started with their Chocolate Martini which comes with a vibrant mix of vodka, chocolate liquor, and Baileys Irish cream. This comes with the afternoon tea set but you can also choose a non-alcoholic beverage like the Chocolate Milkshake instead.

The Chocolate Afternoon Tea comes with many indulgent and unique treats. Similar to the classic high tea, it comes with a set of scones with clotted cream.

However, the Chocolate Afternoon Tea also comes with these chocolate chip scones and chocolate syrup that you can put on the scones. It’s a different experience compared to the strawberry jam that I usually eat with my scones.

Guests will be able to indulge in a variety of sweet treats including Chocolate Brioche, Amarena Cherry, Vanilla Chocolate Crème, Milk Chocolate Sponge, Milk Chocolate Crémeux, Mango Creme, Calamansi Chocolate & Pistachio Praline, Coffee Filo, Chocolate Caramel and Hazelnut Mignon, Raspberry, White Chocolate & Lime with Breton.

Savory bites on the afternoon tea menu include Chicken sausage and quinoa pie, Beef Bourguignon in rich chocolate sauce, Sesame tuna with chocolate pretzel stick, Potato nest and chorizo, Solaire smoked salmon sandwich, Lobster and avocado in charcoal brioche toast, Roast beef and burrata in chocolate banana bread, and Creamy chicken in garlic baguette.

There’s also some Chocolate Crinkle Cookies that you can dip inside a cup of Hot Chocolate Sphere doused with warm milk. You can’t get more indulgent that this.

To celebrate the Solaire Chocolate Festival, Chef Ben and Auro Co-Founder Kelly Go gave us a short demonstration of how chocolate is actually made. Before this, I never really knew about the process of making chocolate from cacao, so it was really a very interesting and educational afternoon.

Chef Ben showed us the first step in the chocolate creation process, which is harvesting the cacao seeds from the big cacao pods. Do you know that it takes years to grow a cacao tree and around 1,000 dried cacao beans to make just 1 kilogram of chocolate?

This is what cacao actually looks like in its raw, harvested state. Chef Ben even let us taste these cacao seeds and it is so far from what chocolate tastes like. Auro Chocolate directly works with local cacao-producing cooperatives, organizations and farms so that it directly supports them and their work.

The next step is fermenting the seeds for 4 to 6 days in wooden boxes. Then are then dried under the sun and roasted to develop the flavor.

The final step would be mixing the roasted cacao together with sugar, milk, and other ingredients to product the type of chocolate desired.

Aside from the Chocolate Afternoon Tea at Oasis, Solaire also has special chocolate Sunday brunches available throughout July. The Finestra Sunday Brunch (P5,555+) on July 2, 2023 will feature a chocolate garden, family style chocolate desserts, and nitrogen affogato, where velvety smooth espresso meets the rich embrace of luscious Auro chocolate. They will also have a chocolate inspired candy trolly, all with Auro Chocolate.

The Waterside Sunday Brunch (P3,499+) on July 9, 2023 features a chocolate brunch with a grazing table of chocolates, a month-long chocolate desserts and chocolate mega milkshakes bar.

On July 16, the Yakumi Sunday Brunch (P3,888+) will let diners enjoy chocolate infused bento desserts, a chocolate bamboo cup dessert, plus chocolate and Japanese Whisky Bon Bons with custom Omamori for giveaway. Fresh International Buffet will also showcase a special Chocolate Sunday Brunch (P2,999+) on July 23, 2023. Diners can enjoy the chocolate fountain for lunch and dinner with chocolate savory dishes, and a chocolate dessert bar.

Before the 7-course seafood and meat dinner, guests will be treated to chocolate-infused canapés and cocktails. The dinner then ends with a decadent dessert.
