[🐎] — The busy days never ended. Even after her conversation with Kana, and her subsequent decision to make a little more time for herself to relax and spend time with the people that mattered to her, work at the ranch and shop was still far too demanding for her to comfortably take any time off.

░ 🌳 ░     When Kurt visits Sterling Ranch, it's because of three things. One, Gwen made good food. He depended on her cooking for as long as he can remember, and even if he received pointers from her and can cook on his own, there was no comparing the meals she made. Two, he had a decent bed to sleep in and he didn't need to worry about any pesky rats. Mire Apartments was the cheapest apartment that he can afford but it never guaranteed comfort. Three, he missed her; and yes, nagging included.

          Kurt finished feeding cleaning the stable as a form of gratitude for the food and lodging. Before he exited the stable, he visited his favorite horse, Midnight. The Dark Bay horse was not the friendliest of all the horses Gwen personally raised, but Midnight was fond of Kurt. Perhaps it was because they were alike. Like him, Midnight was a lone wolf ( or horse​ ) and preferred solitude. But when it comes to doing what he likes — racing for Midnight, carpentry for Kurt  — they're dull flames start burning brightly.

            ❝ I'll see you in a bit . Knowing Gwen, she might want to race ... ❞ He's no racer, but he was taught by a strict perfectionist. He can manage well on his own and with Midnight, but he's still no match for her. This doesn't stop Gwen from wanting to race with him, unfortunately. It's just practice, she says. Tsk.

          ❝ Is that all you needed help with ? ❞  He reported back to Gwen, hoping she'd just give him something to do instead of dragging him to the track.

It might have come to a surprise to Dylas when he received a delivery the next day since he didn’t order anything, but the items that arrived were all from a Gwen M. It was a Mystic Fishing Rod and a Fishing Boat. She knew he was having a hard time on his own so she figured to give him a little help.

There was a note included in the delivery: “Here’s a little something to get you started. I won’t take no for an answer, so don’t bother returning it.”

░ ⚡ ░     ❝  What the — tch , I didn’t ask for this ! ❞ Oh, it came as a shock alright. He even yelled at the delivery guy for pranking him. But as he was given the letter and realized it wasn’t a prank at all, he felt nothing but embarrassment for his initial reaction and for the gift itself. 

         His debt towards people just kept increasing. Who knew having nice people around would be this troublesome? He was already having a hard time trying to make up for their kindness and now... damn it.

         He’ll just have to thank Ponytail later and maybe drop by with some fish...

[ ♥ ] — Ah, the Flower Festival... what a wondrous time, filled with love and happy feelings! ░ ⚡ ░    Dylas wasn’t familiar with Arcadia. He’s been asleep for hundreds of years, and apart from being in new land, the time’s most certainly have changed. What hasn’t changed, thankfully, was the significance of fishing in a man’s life. As an uneducated man who only knew how to fish, it was natural that his first order of business after calming down and settling at present time was to find a source of income. That meant fishing for Dylas and in order to fish, you need a rod.   

          — ( now where the hell can I get one? )

          His search for a store that can sell him that tool that he needs let him to local carpentry. He was told  — after much struggle in trying to talk to anyone without scaring them off  — that the carpentry can sell him any tool that he needed. That better be the case cause he was starving and there was no chance he’ll leech off the tiny farmer girl again.

          ❝ I need a fishing rod. ❞ Dylas requested plain and simply at the Carpentry’s cashier. He saw stacks of wood, furniture, and some tools, but he wasn’t sure which one he can buy. He barely had any Gs to his name but he’ll change that as soon as he gets himself something to fish with. ❝ The cheapest you’ve got . ❞
