Flower Festival

[ ♥ ] — Ah, the Flower Festival... what a wondrous time, filled with love and happy feelings! Flowers weren’t too high on Felicity’s list of interests (of course, that applied to just about anything that wasn’t food), but she could appreciate their beauty, and the heartfelt sentiments attached to them.

So before she heads out to her evening shift at the restaurant, Felicity stops by City Hall to buy some flowers for a few friends, paying a courier to deliver them for her. Hopefully everyone would enjoy their gifts~

✧ Kids can be cruel, people say.

✧ Vishnal didn’t believe that when he was 11. (He doesn’t believe it now, either, but 11′s the age we’re at.) Why would kids be mean to him? He helped them all the time, and they always looked grateful when he reported he was done with something.

✧ His current objective: clean up a mess.

✧ There’s a tiny part of him that wonders why someone would spill so many jacks across the ground at a park, but he doesn’t want to make anyone feel bad for being a klutz if he asks. So he’ll sit here and collect them eagerly, every single one. He’ll be able to join the others once he’s cleaned this up for them, easy.

✧ It doesn’t occur to them that maybe they’re just using him because they see him helping the teacher all the time. He hears teacher’s pet whispered sometimes, but he doesn’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing. He always gets a ‘thank you’ from the teacher, and a smile! There’s nothing wrong with getting a smile, right?

✧ (When told of his new status as, uh... chore-doer in class, his mother had an odd look on her face and said, “Well, darling, don’t forget to have fun with the rest of them, alright?” But there’s nothing more fun than making people’s lives easier, so he doesn’t know why she was so adamant on it...)

Running Away With Things || Trent & Forte

It was starting to warm up, the sun starting to come up a little earlier in the mornings, and Trent welcomed both with open arms. While he wasn’t looking forward to running in the heat of summer, the in-between of Spring was a pleasure he fully intended to enjoy. He’d run all through the winter, whenever it was safe to at least, and was glad to be out when the worst weather he’d encounter was rain.

Today even had some warmth from the sun coming up, shaking off the chill of the morning as he jogged through the quiet streets of Arcadia before the island had come to life with morning commuters. It was peaceful, and there was a beauty in it he couldn’t help but admire.

Lost in thought, he barely noticed as he passed another jogger.

Knight in Shining Armor || Felicity & Forte

[ ♥ ] — Felicity had been in Arcadia for an overnight assignment, covering one of the local restaurants for her next review article. She had spent a good amount of the day scoping it out. Dining and judging the quality of the food, all the while keeping an eye on the restaurant’s level of service and other functions.

After gathering what she deemed was a sufficient amount of data, the waitress heads back to the inn she was staying in. The sun was already set, and the roads were iced with days’ worth of piled up snow. Compared to Leuda, Arcadia had a severe lack of street lights, so the roads had been much darker than she anticipated.

It wasn’t so dark that she couldn’t find her way, however, so she didn’t really mind it. Of course, she had no idea about the criminals that liked to lurk about at this time of evening-- or perhaps, the possibility of their existence had simply slipped her mind. But Felicity gets a very stark reminder in the form of an unfamiliar arm snaking around her waist, the woman shrieking as she gets roughly pulled against a larger, and plainly male, body. 

She tries to struggle against him, to no avail. He was much stronger than her, and breaking out of his hold was proving to be an incredibly difficult task. When he mumbles something about stealing her money, or else, she grows even more frantic.

“H-hel---!” Before Felicity could call for assistance, she feels a hand clamp over her mouth, muffling her words as she begins to get dragged away.

floral familiarity

✧ No, Vishnal hasn’t abandoned Kiel yet! And he sure wasn’t going to forget him on his flower list, which... turned out much longer than last year, wow! His last two individual deliveries come in the form of Kiel and his sister, who is just as lovely as a human as her brother. The odd, but somehow fitting, pair.

✧ Kiel gets one white calla lily (purity) and three red alstroemerias (friendship and devotion) while Forte gets four red alstroemerias. They’re gathered in Vishnal’s hand when he visits, knocking on the door quickly with a grin on his face.

✧ “Hello!” he greets, and brandishes the flowers. “Flowers for one of my favorite families on the islands! Thank you for your companionship, and for... putting up with me, heh.”

✧ Kiel, for putting up with his food, and Forte for just... carrying him, metaphorically. Well, and sometimes literally.
