#19 Wings from @ozzgin’s Monstertober 2024 prompt list
⋆ ⋅ ☽ ⋆ ☾ ⋅ ● ⋅ ☽ ⋆ ☾ ⋅ ● ⋅ ☽ ⋆ ☾ ⋅ ● ⋅ ☽ ⋆ ☾ ⋅ ⋆
You've been working the graveyard shift at the mall for a few months now. Whenever you're on break, you like to go down to the park nearby and watch the moon and stars twinkling above. The vastness of it all is mesmerizing and you've always wondered what it's like up there in the sky.
Tonight is no different as you huddle into your coat, trying to stay warm in the cool night air while munching on a sandwich. Just like every other night this week, you spot the pair of glowing red eyes watching you from the darkness of the trees. When you first saw them, you were terrified and your heart nearly stopped. You could just barely make out a massive figure hunched in the darkness and you knew, instinctually, it was a monster of some kind.
But as you held your breath, waiting for the creature to attack, they never did. They just stayed there, watching from a distance. After a while, you figured they didn’t mean you any harm and decided to let them be. Just because they’re a monster doesn’t mean they’re dangerous. You’ve seen what true monsters look like and it has nothing to do with being inhuman. Soon, you grew to find their watchful presence comforting in the lonely nights.
Tonight, you’re feeling particularly bold and decide that it’s time to say hi to your silent monster. Setting down your sandwich, you wave to the shadows and call out for them to join you. The bright crimson orbs blink for a moment and then disappear. You wait patiently until they reappear again a minute later.
“You…want me to come closer?” A deep, hesitant voice emanates from the shadows. The sound is nothing like you’ve ever heard before. It’s inhuman and has a buzzing quality as if it’s coming from a broken stereo.
“Yeah,” you say, patting the seat next to you. “Come sit with me.”
The eyes blink again and you see the faint outline of its head cock to the side. Then, ever so slowly, the figure starts to creep forward, easing out of the shadows and into the bright moonlight.
You gape in awe at the giant masculine creature that stands before you. He has a thick chest with a tapered waist and long spindly legs that bend backwards at the knees, much like a bird’s. He also appears to be covered in a sort of black fuzz that you instantly want to run your hands through. When he cocks his head to the side again, you notice two feather-like antennae bobbing above him.
Mothman! You think, not entirely surprised that he’s actually real. Even though you’re not afraid of him, a thrill runs through you at being so close to such a legendary cryptid. He’s also so much more beautiful than you thought he would be based on all the depictions you’ve seen.
When he just stands there staring at you, you hold out your hand, beckoning him closer. You hear a little intake of surprise come from him before he tentatively approaches the picnic table and sits down beside you. You watch in fascination as his wide mouth splits open to reveal several rows of razor sharp teeth in a terrifying smile.
“So, how long have you been watching me?” You ask, smirking at the way his antennae flatten back on his head as he looks away.
“A while…” He replies vaguely.
You smile at his sheepishness. “Hmm, have you now?” He just jerks his shoulder in an awkward shrug, still unable to meet your gaze. Deciding to cut him some slack, you change the subject. “Hey, can you fly?”
Of course!” he exclaims, puffing up his chest.
With a woosh, a pair of massive wings spread out wide behind him as he shows them off. You can’t help but marvel at the gorgeous patterns. There are two sets on each side, one higher than the other. Black and brown rippling lines cover the edges and each wing has an eye-like circle in the middle. When he flutters them, it appears as if the eyes are winking at you.
You laugh at his antics as you reach out to trace a finger along one of his wings. “What’s it like to fly? To be up there in the sky?”
He shudders at your touch, staring down at you with an intense look in his eyes. Realizing what you were doing, you quickly pull your hand back and he exhales softly.
Shaking his head slightly as if remembering your question, he asks, “Would you like me to show you?”
Gasping in excitement, you nod eagerly. Without hesitation, he scoops you up in his arms, wrapping your legs around his waist as he tucks you into his body. Large, slender hands grip you tight, pinpricks of pain sending shivers down your spine as claw-tipped fingers dig into your skin. You cling to his neck and bury your face into his chest. He’s unbelievably soft and warm and you think you could probably stay here forever if he’d let you.
“Hold on tight,” is all he says before he leaps into the air, pumping his wings with enormous force and lifting you both into the air.
Within moments, you’re soaring high up in the sky, the wind whipping your hair as the town below you shrinks in the distance. Your shout of excitement gets lost in the roar of the wind and your cheeks burn from how wide you’re smiling. He looks down at you, a twinkle in his eyes as he soaks in your joy.
You fly together for what feels like hours as you watch the land below whizzing by, the people and buildings like tiny figurines on a playset. Eventually, you start to shiver from the cold, your clothes growing damp from the moisture in the icy wind. He seems to notice and begins to veer off towards a nearby mountain.
Wondering where he’s taking you, you hold on tightly and watch as he begins to descend to a small cabin nestled in the mountainside forest. When he lands, he sets you down gently on the porch and then takes your hand, leading you inside. It’s a warm, and cozy space, filled with old wooden furniture and mismatched decor.
He sets about lighting a fire as you sit shivering on the couch. When the hearth is blazing, he grabs a blanket and places it next to you. Slowly, and with gentle hands, he begins removing your cold, wet clothes. He looks at you, pausing as if waiting for you to push him away. But you have no intention of stopping him, utterly bewitched by this terrifying yet sweet creature and desperately wanting to see what he’ll do.
Once he has all your clothes off, he drapes the warm blanket over your shoulders. Then he carefully picks you up off the couch and lays you on the plush fur rug in front of the fire. When he leans back as if to move away, you grab his hand, pulling him down until he’s kneeling between your spread legs.
For a moment, he just stares down at you, watching the firelight flicker across your naked skin. Red and yellow flames illuminate your curves in a mesmerizing dance.
“Are you sure you want this, little flower?” he asks in a voice that sounds strained.
“Yes,” you whisper on a breathy moan, “I want you.” And it’s true. From the moment you saw him, you were intrigued. And now your body is buzzing from the thrill of flying, needing an outlet for all that excited energy.
When he takes a deep breath and exhales it slowly, you gape at him as two long appendages gradually extend from the depths of the fuzz at his hips. They reach out and brush against your inner thighs and your legs twitch at the sensation. They’re covered in soft hairs and it tickles as they swirl around your skin.
Soon, a tingling sensation spreads along your legs and then the rest of your body, making your muscles relax as warmth spreads through you. The room begins to swim around you and you grab hold of his arm to keep from floating away. The warmth of his body and the softness of his fuzz is like an anchor in the fog. At the sight of Mothman looming over you with lust filling his eyes, your pussy tightens in need and you groan, squirming on the blanket beneath him.
His mouth opens on a pant as his chest rises and falls rapidly. As the two appendages at his hips begin to retreat into his body, a long, straw-like tongue unfurls from his parted lips and he bends down to drink up the sweat gathering at the hollow of your neck. A groan escapes him and he quickly shuffles downward, gripping your thighs and spreading them wide for his shoulders to fit between your legs.
Without hesitation his tongue dips into your dripping core, sucking up your juices greedily. “Mmmh,” he growls in that buzzing voice, “you taste like the sweetest nectar.”
You moan at the vibrations that ripple from his tongue against your entrance. He traces it upwards and begins to twirl the narrow tip around your clit, making you writhe at the intense, concentrated stimulation. The tip flicks at the sensitive bud, pressing and swirling around it with unerring precision. The zaps of pleasure mix with the weightless feeling of your body in a heady cocktail.
After a few moments of teasing your clit, he moves his slender tongue back inside your pussy, plunging deeper this time until it flicks against your g-spot. You gasp and jerk at the foreign sensation. His tongue isn’t nearly girthy enough to give you the fullness you so desperately crave but the feeling of the probing, sucking tip curling around your inner walls is just as erotic.
Soon, he moves back to your clit, repeating his earlier ministrations before returning to your pussy once more. He does this over and over, spending just enough time at each spot to bring you close to the brink before he switches back again. Before long you’re completely wound up, gasping and desperate to come.
Between the warmth of the fire, the tingling along your skin, and his torture on your clit and g-spot, your body feels like a tightly wound coil, ready to explode. When he reaches up to pinch a nipple between two sharp claws, you do just that. Your back arches off the floor as your orgasm crashes into you and you cry out in ecstasy. Waves of pleasure wash over you as he draws the orgasm out as long as he can until you eventually slump to the floor, twitching with aftershocks.
As you start to come back down, he slows his movements, gently lapping up the wetness that’s coursing down your thighs.
“Mmm,” he hums against your sensitive core. “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get enough of your sweet nectar”.
Before you’ve fully caught your breath, he’s climbing back over you, nipping and sucking at your stomach, chest, and neck as if wanting to taste your pleasure everywhere. You moan at the sensations on your hot and overstimulated skin. When he leans back to sit on his heels, you gasp at the sight before you.
Where there was once just fuzz, a massive length protrudes from his groin. It’s sort of like a cock but nothing like a human’s or anything you’ve ever seen before. It’s long and girthy and the shape is gnarled with bumps and whorls along its surface, almost like a dark gray tree branch. Your core clenches in desire as you watch his slender black fingers wrap around the length, stroking up and down a few times until a bead of sap-like precum wells up from a slit in the tip.
With one hand, he holds your hip steady while the other guides his glistening tip to your entrance. Locking his bright ruby eyes with yours, he slowly pushes inside you, letting you feel every ridge and bump of his unusual cock slide along your walls. His lust-filled groan joins yours as you grip the furs above your head, gasping for air at the feeling of your walls being stretched impossibly wide.
When he’s fully seated he pauses, letting you both catch your breaths for a moment. He places both forearms on either side of your head and leans down to press his forehead against yours, his warm exhales ghosting against your face.
“So fucking tight,” he grits out, the strain of holding back evident in his voice.
When your body begins to adjust to his size, your muscles relax and your pussy begins fluttering around him, clenching in need.
He snarls at the sensation and quickly pulls out almost to the tip, then slams back in again in one swift motion. Your cries of pleasure echo against the walls as he begins to fuck you roughly into the rug, setting a brutal pace. With every thrust the gnarled bumps on his cock drag against your walls and your eyes roll back in your head.
The wet sounds of your bodies colliding fill the small space as he takes what he wants from you. Each thrust is so forceful that your body begins to slide up the rug. He sits back on his heels again, lifting your hips up to wrap your legs around his waist. Digging his sharp claws into your ass, he uses the leverage to bury himself even deeper than before.
With the new angle, his cock hits your g-spot perfectly on every thrust and your cries turn into sobs at the overwhelming bliss and you squeeze your eyes shut. Between the bolts of electricity shooting up your spine and the pricks of pain from his claws buried in your skin, you hurtle towards your orgasm.
Feeling your walls beginning to clamp down, he snarls, “Look at me.” Your eyes flutter open and he pins you with his gaze. “There you are. Such a pretty petal.”
At his words the dam bursts and you careen over the edge, your screams filling the room as you take him with you. He roars in pleasure and his hips begin to stutter. Your walls ripple, milking him as his hot cum spurts inside you, filling you up until it seeps out around his throbbing cock. Your orgasms drag on for what feels like forever and you get lost in the intoxicating haze of ecstasy.
When you finally drift back down from your high, he slumps down on top of you, draping his large form over you but taking care not to crush you with his weight. After several moments of contented silence, you almost drift off to sleep from the warmth of his body and the crackling fire. But you’re roused from your half-conscious state when he sits up and gathers you in his arms, tucking you into his lap as he leans back against the foot of the couch.
With a rustle, his wings unfurl from his back and drape around you, cocooning you in a soft embrace as a plume of powder puffs into the air. You watch as it drifts in the firelight and settles on your skin.
Running your finger through the powder coating your arm, you turn to look at him in curiosity. “What is this?”
Sheepishly he replies, “It’s a…mating dust.” He drops your gaze as he looks into the fire. “For creatures like me, wings are very sensitive and intimate and we only allow mates to touch them. The dust is a way of marking you so that others know who you belong to…”
Mating dust?
You should balk at the idea of being marked like that but you can’t seem to bring yourself to be annoyed. In fact, you kind of like the idea of belonging to someone. You took comfort in his watchful presence all those lonely nights in the dark. His soft and gentle caresses. The way he looked at you as if you were the most precious thing in the world. The way he fucked you with a wild and desperate need…
At your silence, his antennae flatten along his head again and he tenses. “I’m sorry, I should have asked but I couldn’t help it—”
“Don’t be.” You say, placing a hand on his chest as you nuzzle into his warmth. “I just wish I had dust of my own to give you.”
He relaxes and you look up at him, your heart warming at the grin that spreads wide across his face and the way his antennae flutter in delight.
“Don’t worry. You’ve given me something far more precious.”
Pink stains your cheeks as you smile, his words sending a flutter through your stomach. Resting your head against him, you listen to the steady beat of his heart, marveling at this beautiful creature holding you in his arms. Soon, the slow rise and fall of his chest begins to lull you into sleep.
When a big yawn splits your face, he strokes a hand down your back and whispers in your ear, “Rest now, my sweet blossom.”
With that, you drift off into a peaceful sleep, dreaming of soaring wings and scarlet eyes.

Can I request apple pie- James potter + an airport terminal at midnight
I once saw a guy at the airport who looked a bit like James but I was looking busted and severely hungover from my last night of spring break to talk to him 😅
Thank you for requesting lovely!!
James Potter x fem!reader ♡ 688 words
“Excuse me.”
The voice is soft but still you wake with something like a growl brewing in your chest, fingers tightening possessively around the strap of your backpack. There’s a boy with brown eyes and a strong chin looking at you concernedly from behind a pair of glasses.
“Sorry,” he says, setting a hand on your suitcase. You’ve got your leg hooked through the handle, but he doesn’t look like he’s trying to steal it, only resting his hand there. “Would you like this?” He holds up a clumped-up mass of fabric.
You blink at him, trying to puzzle out whether he’s really making no sense or whether you’re just that tired.
“For your head,” the boy clarifies. “You just, you don’t look very comfortable.”
You lift your head, feeling the imprint that something poking through your backpack has left in your cheek. “Sorry,” you say blearily. “I don’t understand.”
“That’s my fault,” he owns immediately. “Sorry, I meant would you like to use my hoodie as a pillow? So you can sleep properly.”
“Oh.” You still feel odd, and it doesn’t help that this is the sort of thing that might usually only happen in a dream. Since when do attractive strangers walk up to you in airports? “Um, thank you, but you don’t have to.”
“No, it’s really alright.” With your head lifted, he starts positioning it atop your backpack, fluffing it as though it’s a real pillow. “It’s my spare. I’m warm enough without it, see?” He gestures to the hoodie he’s wearing as if to demonstrate. It’s a deep red color that looks nice against his warm skin. He does look very warm, overall. “Anyways, there.” He steps back, grinning almost bashfully as he takes a seat across from you. “Now hopefully you can sleep better.”
“Thank you,” you say quietly.
He nods, still smiling much too brightly for this hour of night (or morning, you suppose. Is it morning yet?).
You close your eyes, trying to ignore how pleasantly warm your makeshift pillow is, like he’s been carrying it around in his arms all day. It smells nice, too, the scent of a shampoo you vaguely recognize and also pine, maybe picked up from wherever he’s coming from. You open your eyes again.
“When’s your flight?”
He looks back at you, pulling his headphones off one ear.
“When’s your flight?” you ask again. “So I can make sure to give it back in time.”
“Oh, not for a few hours yet.” He waves you off. His headphones come down around his neck. “We’re suffering delays. When’s yours?”
“Five-thirty.” You feel weary at the thought of it, though you can’t wait to get out of here. You’ve been dying to leave this airport since you’d arrived, grievously regretting your decision to save money on a hotel for the last night of your trip.
He makes a sympathetic hissing noise. “That sounds truly awful. Early bird gets the worm, though?”
“Something like that.”
He smiles, and maybe it’s the fluorescent lighting but you think that if you weren’t already lying down it would take your knees out from under you. “I’m James.”
You tell him your name, and he nods like he’s tucking it away.
“Are you going on holiday?” he asks, crossing one of his legs under him, getting comfortable.
“Sort of,” you reply. “I’m going to see my mum. But she makes it feel like a holiday.” Something softens around James' eyes, and for reasons unknown it makes your face warm. “Where are you headed?”
“My best mates are spending the holiday in France. They’ve spared me a pullout couch.” James tilts his head, looking far more content than anyone traveling at this hour ought to be. You wonder if his lips just lie in a permanent uptilt. “So where you’re going to visit your mum, is that where you’re from?”
You reposition your backpack so you’re propped up a bit more, James’ hoodie still under your cheek but suddenly feeling less keen on sleeping the hours until your flight away. Oddly, you’re no longer dying to leave this airport quite so badly.

Enclosed Within🌿
18+ Dryads x Gender Neutral Reader
(Tentacles, sex pollen, reader has afab anatomy)
DogWitch’s notes: I figured I would post some short stories while I work in a much larger project. I don’t think dryads get enough love so instead here’s a little story of them giving reader pLEANTY of it.
Summary: Lost and alone you stumble across a beautiful grove. There’s something in the air that seems to have you desperate and burning up from the inside. Perhaps grinding against the dew soaked moss might soothe you? I’m sure the vines starting to enclose your body are just regular plants.
It had been a long time now since you had found yourself cut off from the rest of your hunting party, and the dapple of gold on the moss covered ground told you that dusk was not far away. You paused again, listening, observing, searching for any sign that might help you get your bearings. Nobody ventured into the forest unless they were sure they could defend themselves against the creatures within and this was not the first time you had needed to navigate home from an unfamiliar place. It was, however, the first time you had done so alone. You grip your bow a little tighter. It was a warm evening and the cloying air had you sweating beneath your linen shirt that now clung to your chest. The cooing and flittering of birds was beginning to quiet now in the fading sun and beneath it you could hear exactly what you’d be waiting for. The gentle murmuring of running water.
Moving swiftly, bow at the ready, you follow the little stream down through the forest. Your village had been built in the valley and all the forest streams connected to the water mill there- therefore, so long as you followed the running water, you could never stray far from home. You had been walking for a few minutes, keeping a keen eye out for any familiar landmarks, when the brook you followed abruptly came to an end. Looking up you take in the strange scene. The brook had opened up into a large pool, spring green with duck weed and lilies, surrounded by moss-covered rocks. Nestled in every crevice of every boulder were fungi of every variety. Tiny white fairy caps to sprawling shelves of orange and brown gills. Some you recognise but most you do not. And above all of this there stretched the branches of a glorious willow tree. Its bows were thick and draped over the grove like a protective embrace.
A strange smell began to pull at your senses as you stood there; something sweet and heady that mingled with the petrichor. You noticed that a light, yellow dust seemed to be falling from the branches of the willow. Tiny particles that caught the light and danced through the air. You find the scent intoxicating, almost addictive, as you breathe deeply into it. It seems to coat your throat with sticky sweetness, like nectar from the most vibrant honeysuckle. As you take in this glorious new experience, you find yourself becoming increasingly uncomfortable in your dampening clothes. The material clung to you, restricting, making you feel hot and over sensitive. Perhaps it was your mind becoming dazed in the sweet air, but it seemed the only solution was to peel off your now drenched, clothing and sit, completely exposed, in the cool, damp moss. The water on your skin instantly soothed the heat that was building up in and around you, and you sighed contentedly, digging your fingers deeper into the mosses and leaves. Your mind had now become so clouded and vague, you struggled to remember how you got here. All you could think about was the cool moss soothing the sticky heat that now seemed to be coming from inside your body.
You began to buck your hips against the rock, hoping the cold surface that rubbed against your entrance might cool your insides. Little waves of pleasure began to radiate through your body as you moved your hips faster, grinding down on the rock beneath you. Your lips opened to gasp for fresh air but all that entered your lungs was that same sickly sweet that dulled your mind and set your nerves ablaze. You let out a whine of frustration and continue to rut against the moss, your own juices mixing with the dew. It was then, as you felt the heat would surly overtake you, that you felt a voice speak within the back of your mind.
‘So easy. So quick to submit. Poor thing.’
With that, the bows of the willow were suddenly upon you, twisting around your limbs and lifting you from the ground to hang, suspended above the lake. You couldn’t even find it within yourself to be alarmed as the loss of friction had you bucking desperately against the air.
‘So needy’
The voice came again, though now it seemed to be joined by a thousand others that echoed its words.
‘Worry not little one. We shall fill you up.’
The whole grove started to shift to life around you, mushrooms and ferns and flowers all shifting into new forms that stared up at you. The branches that bound you, held your arms behind your back and spread your legs wide, revealing your dripping entrance for all these creatures to see. For the first time, your mind began to attempt to shake off its fog and you struggled against your restraints. But they only tightened as the willow lowered you down into the crowd of waiting creatures bellow.
For a moment, they simply observed you. Each one looked different; with features humanoid enough to be recognisable as a face, but with knowing, pupal- less eyes and bodies that flowed into tangles of glistening, vine like tendrils. There was a moment of silence where you could hear nothing but your own racing heart before…
‘Come my children; drink your fill.’
The dryads swarmed around you, wanting to touch and fill every inch of your aching body. Thick tendrils flicked between your folds, coating you with thick nectar before pushing inside. The thin vines of smaller creatures forced their way in beside them and you could feel each of them curling inside you, pumping in and out, sending waves of pleasure through your desperate body. Finding your slick entrance to be full, a dryad that was clearly once a bright fairy cap mushroom, made its way behind you and began to push into your tight ass. You yelped in pain as the engorged head of one of its appendages suddenly filled you, stretching you out. If they heard, the creatures payed no mind as they begin to toy with this new hole, filling it just as achingly full. The pain dulled into overwhelming pleasure as the feeling of countless, slick tendrils fucking deep inside you overtook your fogged out mind. Your hips twitched uselessly and your mouth hung open in drooling, wanton moans.
As soon as your lips parted, you realised your mistake. Vines came curling up your body, encasing you completely and filling your open mouth. You gagged and spluttered but they t kept coming, writhing down your throat. They felt cool on your tongue and their slick was sweet as honey and you found yourself relaxing into the sensation as the lack of air just added to the heady state of your mind. You moaned around the tentacles, limp and pathetic as you could do nothing but feel pleasure.
‘That’s it.’ The voice came again. ‘Let go little one. Let us have you. Let us have every inch of you.’
You had no way of knowing how long you spent, bound up and being filled by countless creatures. Every time one seemed to finish, thrusting deep and releasing its thick, sweet nectar, another just curled its way around and inside you. Honey came leaking from every hole, coving your skin, your face, your hair. The dryads closed in around you and pressed you flush to their cool, damp skin. Perhaps you began to fade in and out of consciousness, waking up only to feel such overwhelming pleasure that you passed out again. But at some point, you realised as you took your first full gasp of air, they all retreated. You felt so empty, bound and dripping with nothing to fill you. The dryads still gathered around, their empty eyes seemed now to be softer, perhaps affectionate, as a few reached out their strange limbs to brush your hair from your eyes and gently caress your body. In your fucked out daze you leant into the touch, craving more, but you felt the willow begin to lift you up again. The tree twisted you around to face its trunk and revealed it to have become a creature of incredible size. Like the dryads below, it had an angular, almost insect like, face and huge, all knowing eyes. But this one had hands too, that reached out and cupped your tiny body within them. It bore a crown of sticks and leaves and it seemed to smile at you, though its face was hard to read.
‘You have done well, little one.’ It didn’t have a mouth to move but you knew now who had been addressing you. ‘So well, in fact, that I should like a taste of you myself.’ It’s gigantic hand wrapped around your waist and held you with ease. You looked down to see that, emerging from what was once the trunk of the great willow, there sat a single, thick, tentacle-like branch. It was thicker than any other that had filled you and seemed to be longer than you were tall. It glistened with nectar and twitched slightly as the dryad drew you close.
‘Fit… it won’t… too big..’ you tried to stutter out, struggling to form a coherent thought. A low laugh rumbled around you, shaking the earth.
‘Worry not little one. I shall not hurt you. You shall feel only pleasure.’
Before you could protest, that overwhelming fullness took you over once more and you cried out in ecstasy. The creature used your body like you weighed nothing, fucking all the nectar that had collected inside, deep into your stomach. You watched as your abdomen bulged against its ungodly size and pressed against every nerve, sending waves of delirious pleasure through you.
‘Such a pretty body, made to be filled. That’s it little one, give yourself to me.’
It moved you faster, your limbs limp and useless as your mind went blank. You were simply a toy to be used for this creature’s pleasure, it’s strange cock filling you completely, stretching you around it until it felt like the most natural thing in the world. You wanted it. You wanted to stay full and delirious forever.
‘I’m yours…’ you choked out a whisper as ropes of thick honey began to bubble inside you. The creature didn’t stop, pushing itself deeper as it emptied into you. You were so full you could taste it.
‘All mine’
The world went dark.
***
It was around three days later when your hunting party finally found you. They had located your clothes, stuck in a brook and feared you had been accosted by some brutish thieves or roaming orcs. Following the stream though, they came to the pool and saw you, leant up against a great willow. You were naked, hair sticking to your forehead but clearly breathing and without injury. They called out to you, relieved that you seemed unharmed. The only strange thing was that you seemed to be almost completely covered in plants. Moss was growing over your legs and vines enclosed around every inch of your body. It looked as though you had been here for years.
One hunter approached, calling your name to no response but a few feeble moans. They must be starved, she thought, as she knelt beside you. But looking closer, she realised your moan was not one of pain, but one of gentle pleasure. Between your legs there sat several mushrooms, seemingly taking turns to push their way inside your swollen entrance. A thin vine flicked, absent- mindedly, at your clit and more still seemed to be caressing your dew covered body. Your friend reached out a hand, trying to shake you awake when suddenly, the moss itself seemed to open its eyes and let out a viscous hiss. She stumbled back to find all of the plant life was seemingly staring at her with a hateful glare.
Perhaps they would just have to leave you here after all.

The early morning sun streamed through the sheer curtains, casting a soft glow across the bedroom. The faint hum of life outside echoed as birds chirped, signaling the start of a new day. Jude stirred beside you, his arm draped casually over your waist, and you smiled, savoring the warmth of his presence. Even after being married for a few years, waking up next to him felt like a luxury you never took for granted.
You turned in his embrace, nuzzling your face into his chest, inhaling the familiar scent of his cologne still lingering on his skin. He stirred, pulling you closer, his voice a low, sleepy mumble.
“Morning, beautiful,” he murmured, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.
"Morning," you murmured back, turning your head to look at him. His hair was slightly messy, giving him an even more relaxed and endearing look. You reached up to gently touch his hair, and he caught your hand, pressing another soft kiss to your palm.
There was something different about this morning. Maybe it was the stillness, or the fact that you both had the whole day ahead with no obligations. But the air felt thick with unsaid words, thoughts hanging in the quiet.
Jude shifted slightly, propping himself up on one elbow to look down at you, his face still soft with sleep. His big brown eyes studied you with affection. He could always tell when something was on your mind.
“You okay?” he asked, concern creeping into his voice as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear. “You seem… I don’t know.”
You bit your lip, nervousness fluttering in your chest. How do you even begin this conversation? It’s not that you hadn’t talked about it before—it had come up in passing, as something you’d both one day wanted. But it had always been vague, floating somewhere in the future. Now, though, the thought of starting a family felt more real. More present.
Jude tilted his head slightly, eyes narrowing playfully as he pretended to scrutinize you. “What’s going on in that pretty head of yours, hm?”
You exhaled, laughing softly, and decided to just go for it. He was your husband, after all—your best friend. There was no one you trusted more.
“I’ve been thinking…” you started slowly, watching his face closely for any sign of what he might be thinking. “About us… and about maybe starting a family.”
Jude’s eyebrows shot up in surprise, but his expression immediately softened into something warm and tender. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips, his hand gently rubbing your back as he leaned in a little closer.
“Yeah?” he asked softly, his voice full of affection. “You’ve been thinking about that?”
You nodded, heart racing a little as you gauged his reaction. “I know we’ve talked about it before, but I don’t know… lately it’s been on my mind more. Like maybe when might be the right time to… you know… expand our little family?”
Jude was quiet for a moment, processing your words. You felt your stomach twist slightly with nerves—what if he wasn’t ready yet? What if he had different plans?
But then he grinned—a grin that lit up his entire face, the kind of grin that had made you fall in love with him all those years ago. His hand slid up to cup your cheek, thumb brushing against your skin as he leaned down to kiss you gently, the kiss filled with so much love that it made your heart swell.
“I’ve been thinking about it too,” he admitted, his voice slightly hushed, like he was sharing a secret. “I didn’t want to pressure you or anything, but… I love the idea. Starting a family with you? That’s something I’ve dreamed about.”
You couldn’t help but laugh softly, relief flooding your chest. “You have?”
“Of course,” he said, his eyes twinkling. “I mean, I want to be able to look back on our lives and see little versions of us running around, causing chaos. I want to be the kind of dad that embarrasses them at football games because I’m cheering too loud. And I want to go through all of that with you.”
His words made you smile like a fool, a mix of happiness and nerves, the weight of this decision hitting you fully. You loved Jude more than anything in the world, but the thought of becoming a parent—it was both exciting and terrifying at the same time.
“I’m nervous,” you confessed quietly, and Jude’s expression softened further.
“I know, me too,” he said, pulling you even closer. “It’s a big step. But we’ll do it together. And if we’re not ready yet, that’s okay too. We’ll go at our own pace, like we always do.”
You wrapped your arms around him, burying your face in his chest, the warmth of his embrace calming your racing heart. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” he whispered into your hair, holding you tightly. “Whenever we’re ready, it’ll be perfect.”
Three months later, the sound of laughter filled the room as you sat on the plush couch in Luz Mendez’s living room, sipping iced tea as you chatted about everything and nothing. Luz was Brahim’s girlfriend and you two had become very close over the past few years, bonded by your shared experiences of being in the world of football. She was one of your best friends and you couldn’t be luckier to have her in your life.
Luz was effortlessly funny, always making you laugh with her quick wit and contagious energy. But today, you weren’t your usual self. You could feel it—the way your stomach fluttered nervously, the way your hands shook slightly as you reached for your drink.
You were waiting.
“Are you okay?” Luz asked, her brows furrowed as she noticed your sudden quietness. “You’ve been a little off all day.”
You swallowed, glancing toward the small box inside your purse. The pregnancy test. The one you’d bought on a whim earlier that morning, unable to shake the feeling that something was different.
“I… I think I might be pregnant,” you admitted softly, your voice trembling with nerves.
Luz’s eyes widened, a mixture of excitement and surprise flashing across her face. “Wait, what? Seriously? Have you taken the test yet?”
You shook your head. “No. I’ve been too scared to do it, but I´ve bought it this morning...”
Luz reached over, squeezing your hand in reassurance. “Hey, so what are you waiting for? Go to the bathroom and take it. You won't be calm until you do it. You have nothing to worry about, I'll be here for you." She saw you hesitate, and spoke again. "You’re going to be fine. Whatever it says, you’ve got this. And Jude is going to be over the moon, I bet.”
Taking a deep breath, you stood up, grabbing the box and heading to the bathroom. You couldn’t avoid it any longer.
The bathroom was too quiet as you stood in front of the sink, staring down at the small, white plastic stick in your hand. You blinked, trying to process what you were seeing.
Two pink lines.
Positive.
Your heart raced as panic slowly crept in. You were pregnant. Yes, you really wanted to be a mother, to start a family with Jude, but suddenly, doubts began to gnaw at you, making the room feel smaller, almost suffocating. The weight of it all settled in—this wasn't just a dream anymore. Now, it was a reality.
"Oh my God," you whispered to yourself, feeling the world tilt slightly. How were you going to tell Jude? Would he be excited? Nervous like you? How were you supposed to feel?
You were happy, of course. But also terrified. A rush of emotions you weren’t prepared for.
A knock at the bathroom door startled you out of your thoughts.
"Hey, you alright in there?" Luz´s voice echoed through the hallway. Now she was the only person who could possibly help calm your frazzled nerves.
Opening the door with shaky hands, you stepped out, the test hidden behind your back. Luz took one look at your face and her eyes widened.
"Y/N, you look like you’ve seen a ghost."
Without a word, you handed her the pregnancy test, watching her expression transform from worry to pure bliss.
"Oh my God," she gasped, glancing between you and the test. "Is this positive?"
You nodded slowly, feeling a little overwhelmed by the situation. "I… I think so. I didn’t expect it to happen so fast."
Luz let out a breathless laugh, throwing her arms around you. "Holy heaven! This is huge! Why aren’t you freaking out more? Wait, are you freaking out?"
You groaned, pulling back slightly. "Luz, I’m totally freaking out. I don’t even know how to tell Jude. I nean, we´ve talked about this before a few times, but... What if he freaks out? What if I’m not ready?"
Luz squeezed your hands, her excitement dimming into a more supportive tone. "Hey, deep breaths. This is big, yes, but you and Jude are solid. You guys love each other more than anything. You’re going to be amazing at this."
You nodded, trying to believe her. But the nerves still buzzed beneath the surface.
"I just… I don’t want to mess this up," you murmured. "What if he can’t handle it? What if I—”
“Stop,” Luz said firmly, cutting off your spiral of worries. “Jude loves you. He’s going to be so happy, over the moon even. And it’s okay to be nervous—this is a big deal. But you’ve got each other. You’ve got this.”
A small smile tugged at your lips. Luz had a way of making things seem less scary, more manageable.
"Okay," you whispered, more to yourself than to her. "Okay. I can do this."
"You can do this. And you know what? You’re going to rock it."
With one last deep breath, you tucked the pregnancy test back into your pocket, glancing at Luz. "I guess I better figure out how to break the news, huh?"
You’d spent the entire afternoon trying to come up with the perfect way to break the news to him, something special and memorable. But every idea seemed to fall flat. Should you wait until dinner? Slip a tiny pair of baby shoes into his bag? Or should you just come out and say it? The more you thought about it, the more unsure you became.
The sound of the front door opening startled you from your thoughts. Jude was home from training, his usual cheerful voice calling out, “Babe, I’m back!”
Panicking, you quickly tried to act natural. You had wanted this to be a surprise, but now you weren’t sure you could pull it off.
Jude walked into the living room, giving you a smile before heading toward the bathroom. “I’m gonna take a quick shower, then we can do something together, yeah?”
You nodded, barely able to speak. “Yeah, sounds good.”
As soon as he disappeared into the bathroom, you let out a breath you hadn’t realized you were holding. Maybe you could buy some time, think of something clever before he got out of the shower. But just as you were about to head into the kitchen, you heard his voice from the bathroom.
“Babe?”
Your stomach flipped. “Tell me.”
There was a pause, and then the door opened. Jude stepped out, holding the pregnancy test in his hand, a look of shock on his face. “Is this… what I think it is?”
Your heart dropped. How could you be so absent-minded? “Oh my god, I—Jude, I was going to tell you. I just… I didn’t know how.”
For a moment, he just stood there, staring at the test in his hand, his mouth slightly open in disbelief. Your anxiety spiked, wondering if this was too much too soon.
But then, Jude’s face broke into the biggest grin you had ever seen. He crossed the room in a heartbeat, wrapping you in a tight hug, spinning you around as he laughed. “You’re pregnant! We’re having a baby!”
His excitement was contagious, and you couldn’t help but laugh too, the tension and anxiety melting away as he held you close. He kissed you, his joy spilling over into every word. “I can’t believe it! We’re actually going to be parents.”
Tears of relief filled your eyes as you looked up at him, feeling a weight lift from your shoulders. “I was so nervous about telling you. I wanted it to be a surprise.”
Jude chuckled, his forehead resting against yours. “Well, I assure you that I didn't expect it at all.”
You couldn’t help but grin at his enthusiasm, his excitement washing over you like a wave of pure joy. You reached up to cup his face, your thumb gently brushing his cheek. “Well, considering how much we’ve been… you know…” You raised an eyebrow playfully, a smirk tugging at your lips. “I guess it’s not that surprising that our unbridled sexual activities have these kinds of outcomes.”
Jude’s eyes widened for a split second before he let out a deep laugh, pulling you even closer to him. “Oh, so that’s what we’re calling it now? Unbridled activities?” He shook his head, still grinning. “You make it sound so… noble.”
You laughed, the tension that had been sitting in your chest for the entire afternoon finally dissolving completely. “Well, it does have a certain regal quality to it, don’t you think? But I mean, what did we expect? You don’t get to have that much fun without consequences.”
Jude chuckled again, his hands resting on your hips, his thumbs gently rubbing circles against your skin through your shirt. “Consequences, huh? Well, if this is the result, I’d say we’ve done pretty well for ourselves.”
You let out a soft laugh, the nerves from earlier now completely replaced with warmth and happiness. “Yeah, we’ve done pretty well,” you echoed, your fingers lightly trailing along the back of his neck. “But seriously, Jude, I’m still a little… I don’t know. Nervous. I mean, this is huge.”
Jude’s expression softened as he looked into your eyes, his voice dropping to a gentle, reassuring tone. “Of course it’s huge, but we’re in this together, okay? I’ve got you. You’ve got me. We’re going to figure it out—every step of the way.”
You nodded, feeling the full weight of his words. His unwavering support, his love—it made everything feel so much easier, even the parts that felt overwhelming. “I know we will,” you whispered, smiling up at him. “I’m really excited. Scared, but excited.”
He smiled back, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. “Me too. But mostly excited.”
You both stood there for a moment longer, wrapped in each other’s arms, basking in the shared realization that your lives were about to change in the most incredible way.
Then, with a playful glint in his eye, Jude leaned in close, his voice a low murmur. “So… I guess we should cool it with our activities for now.”
You laughed, shaking your head as you swatted his arm. “Not a chance, Bellingham. You know I’m not that easily deterred.”
He grinned, his laughter mixing with yours as he pulled you closer once again. “We´ll see.”
“I love you,” you whispered, pressing a kiss to his jaw. “I can’t wait to do this with you.”
Jude smiled down at you, his hand still resting on your belly. “I love you too, so much. And I promise, no matter how many surprises come our way, we’ve got this.”

Check Yes Chapter 7 part 1
in which the bats start to suspect that something is going on with Jason
Masterpost
“No, I'm at Jason's place,” Dick read out loud. “Have fun without me.” He put his hands on his hips. “I think I'm offended. Are you offended?”
Damian shrugged, cheeks hollowed around a juice box straw. He had under eye wrinkles from a long day of being a small child. Dick felt vaguely tempted to squish his cheeks, but the bites were still healing from last time and he needed dexterity to grapple.
“I'm deeply offended and think you should remind Jason who is the alpha older brother.” Tim didn't stop his keyboard mashing, splayed upside down on the back of the sofa. His neck was squashed at an uncomfortable looking angle. “Go get Duke and give him fundamental childhood memories. Now is your time to shine. Teach him how to ride a bicycle or Jason will do it for you.”
Dick hummed skeptically. He paced a little. “Duke probably knows how to ride a bike. But still.” He took a couple of steps while he wrestled with himself. “I know that you’re trying to encourage the worst in me.” He tapped his fingers against his hipbone rapidly.
It wasn’t going to work. He didn’t need to be competitive about this. Duke wasn’t really picking Jason over him, he was just- choosing to be with Jason instead of Dick. No big deal.
“Are you really going to take Jason take a W over you?” Tim didn’t even look over at him.
“He’s not winning anything.” Dick frowned at the distance, out the window. It was just that usually these few hours in between Duke’s patrol and bedtime lined up well with his free time after work, before patrol. He liked having the family together. He liked that they hung out in the TV room and fought for control of the TV. It built character, and he wasn’t saying that just because he usually won.
“He’s winning,” Tim said darkly. “You’re letting Duke get away from you.”
Dick ripped away Tim’s DS player and scowled down at him. “Stop trying to rile me up,” he demanded.
Tim gave him a shitty smile. “You’re right. It’s probably better if Duke hangs out with Jason. What’s one more bird who avoids the Manor? We can be a family from a distance. You don’t really need to see Duke grow up.”
“You suck.” Dick let go of the DS and stalked out of the TV room. He ignored the instant scramble behind him as Damian and Tim fought for control of the TV. Tim was probably doomed to two hours of Animal Planet, but Dick felt no mercy as he grabbed his riding jacket and jogged to the upstairs parking garage. He passed Bruce and they exchanged a silent nod.
Jason’s place was annoyingly far away from the Manor. Dick steamed inside his motorcycle helmet for the first ten minutes and then decided to be a better, more cheerful person, and also to do some recon. He called up Roy on his headset. “He-ey,” he sang with the line picked up.
“Dickie McDickface,” Roy said evenly. “Fancy hearing from you.”
“Oh please, McDickface is my father.” Dick swerved around a car that was merging without a turn signal and then gunned the engine so that he could get even with the driver and show them his middle finger. “You can just call me Baby.”
“Will do, sweet cheeks.” Something snapped in the background and then a humming started up. Microwave? “What’s up? You calling just to flirt or do you need to see my face?”
“Just thought of you,” Dick lied breezily. “Since I’m on my way to see my little wing and he’s tried so hard to subsume my place in your heart.” He tightened his grip on his motorcycle handles.
“You really don’t need to compete with him.” Roy said blandly. “You’re different people. I can have friendships with multiple people without one of them being the alpha friend.”
Dick made an unconvinced hum and took a sharp left turn onto the freeway. “If you say so. I’m not arguing with a man with beautiful brown eyes.”
Roy sniggered. “You’re terrible.”
Dick grinned. Gottem.
“I don’t think Jason wants my heart,” he said wryly. “You can relax.”
Dick got much tenser. “Oh?” he prompted. Say what you know! Reveal Jason’s secrets!
“I think he’s got someone else in the picture, he deep-cleaned his place again and last week he sent me pictures of him in three identical black leather jackets asking which gave off more of an air of careless sophistication.” A pan clattered.
“I’m sure they weren’t identical,” Dick said, a little distracted by how hopeless Roy always was about these things. “What were the lapels like?”
A few cars ahead sirens blared and then there was a momentous crash. Glass sparkled high in the air and someone skidded across the pavement while Roy chattered on.
“Anyway, I’m actually making dinner right now. Right, sweetheart? Wanna say hello to Uncle Dickie?” Roy cooed, voice going slightly unfocused as he moved away from the speaker.
A multi-car pileup crashed into place ahead of him.
“Oh, Lian is there!” Dick hit the brakes hard and safely settled to the side of the mess. “Hi, princess!”  He puttered through the scene at a low speed, checking everyone out. “How was your day? Did you kick ass on the bar at preschool?” Fender bender, fender bender, angry woman obviously calling the police- seemed fine. Dick hit the throttle and passed the wreck on the side.
A faint childish voice spoke in the background, utterly incomprehensible. Roy translated after a second, deadpan. “Boy Wonder, she says that she conquered like a roman general. She was as powerful and beloved as the second- no, sorry, she said the first emperor of the Chin dynasty. Lian, I corrected- I said the first!”
Dick winced. “Yeah, the first emperor was better,” he said. Massive understatement.  “So proud of you, Li-Li!”
“I better let you go. Take care, Dickie. Hope Gotham doesn’t treat you too mean.”
“Gotham is a sweetheart,” Dick said cheerfully. “Enjoy dinner!” He cut the call and grinned to himself, thinking over the new information.
His first thought was that Roy was off-base and Jason had cleaned his apartment because Duke was coming over. But Roy was right about the jacket– Jason wouldn’t be worried about his clothes to impress a sibling.
‘What does this have to do with Duke?’
He turned that part of the puzzle over in his mind as he approached Park Row. It could be a coincidence, sure, but he could smell something more interesting here. It made more sense for there to be a connection than for there to be two changes to routine in a short time frame.
The only thing to do about it was to let himself into Jason’s apartment building, hoist open the staircase window on the floor below Jason’s apartment, and free climb up the wall to let himself onto Jason’s balcony. Jason’s door was only accessible by code, and he was aiming for stealth this time. Dick hunkered down to listen closely.
Duke was definitely in there. He could hear the faint music of a boss battle coming from inside.
‘...That’s definitely weird,’ Dick noted, getting excited about it. ‘Jason doesn’t own games. What’s Duke got on him? Is it blackmail? What do I have to do to force Duke to tell me?’

› prologue, the journey
The morning felt stale under a colorless sky, announcing a cold and cloudy day ahead. A soft whooshing sound preceded the breeze that swept through the forest, rustling the leaves of the timber trees.
The leaves had begun to turn a vibrant shade of yellow, the King noticed. As he gazed at the land before him, he felt the urge to bend down and pick up the leaves that had begun to blow around his feet in the wind, creating a soft, crumpled blanket on the ground.
He paused for a moment, aware that the wind was whispering something from afar. It carried with it the distant, melodic calls of phoebes, their voices echoing through the crisp air of the morning.
Junhui tilted his head forward, allowing the cool breeze to brush and sweep between his eyelashes as he closed his eyes. With a gentle, respectful gesture, he bowed to the wind, feeling its whispers in his brown hair.
The earth would gradually grow barren and lose the sweetness of spring. This was familiar to him; he had witnessed the signs time and time again. Yet this time it carried a significant weight—it meant that you were on your way here, it meant that you were coming home for the very first time since you had met.
With a deep, steadying breath, he straightened his neck, feeling the anticipation rising within him, he felt an exhilarating rush of energy coursing through him. Slowly, he opened his eyes to the land stretching before him.
Paradise. Where the sunlight seems almost tangible, it rises but never reaches its zenith. Colorful waves of grass stretch far and wide, dotted with small mounds of tiny white flowers, inviting anyone to rest their head on them.
This place was beautiful. At least this side of his kingdom was tranquil and robust with color. The birds choose to seek shelter and sleep here. It is where the souls who were granted peace would grow quiet and witness the king of the lands spend his mornings.
The place reminded him of a long-lost childhood. The music from the phoebes, the cold but gentle breeze. He wanted to run, he wanted to become one with the wind and not feel anything at all.
But alas, the dread came.
“What are you doing here, Clotho?” he asked, his voice was low and raspy from not speaking to anyone in what felt like months.
“It is time. Must follow tradition,” she said with a gentle tone, but Junhui knew better. He knew she was pressing on the importance of your arrival there. One of the Fates, only doing her work, but vague as to how to be tactful.
“I am aware of that. Thank you,” he replied, turning to face her, turning his back on the land.
Her pale face looked stricken with worry and embarrassment as she lowered her eyes to the ground. “Forgive me.”
Jun raised his gaze to the silvery sky, trying not to roll his eyes. “You have nothing to apologize for,” he said coldly. “You’ve done nothing wrong.”
Clotho frowned. Those around him saw his apathy, and they took it as a sign that he was grieving his break-up with you. They were right; his heart was heavy with sorrow, even if he refused to show it. Beneath the surface, a storm of grief raged within him, slowly consuming him, even if he wore a mask of calm.
You came into his life in the most devastating way imaginable. Like a merciless wave, washing away everything that preceded you, leaving only you. Your arrival was not only abrupt, but it was like a shock that altered the course of his existence, forcing him to deal with the remains of the things you made him feel.
But then he lost you, all because of a lie. Now, as autumn slowly awakened, you were coming to him; it was time to make amends.
Only if you let him.

⌞Forest of Color: ⌝
⌞A salad made from fresh fruit and vegetables. Blanch the Grainfruit, chop the other ingredients, drizzle over the sauce, then stir until evenly mixed. Extremely simple to make, but even more importantly, it's so healthy that no matter how much you eat, you won't feel stressed!⌝
You stared at the in-game meal right in front of you, it was a late friday night and you were wasting the hours away curiously reading and looking through the official page that contained all of the food and drinks that could be found in your comfort game, Genshin Impact.
As a student in the culinary course and a rather enthusiastic foodie, one of the factors you always looked for when playing or finding a certain game or watching a particular show was their cuisine!
Just staring at the delicious looking, not-real, food always got your appetite running. Part of your little hobby was trying to even recreate certain dishes like those foodtubers did in youtube! Right now while mentally eating the pixelated dish in your mind, you were also picking the next food you'd try to recreate.
'Perhaps I should pick from star rail, none of the food here has picked my fancy. .' you thought to yourself while leaning back on your chair and making a point to stroke your chin with a thoughtful expression. 'Ah! how about the Mondstadt hash browns, I could even try to make Razor's variant dish!'
Snapping your fingers you immediately went to the kitchens, mentally patting yourself on the back for going grocery shopping the day before. So like usual, in the comfort of your own apartment, you began to cook, then eat and clean up, before retiring to your bedroom, dozing off with a full stomach and a lazy smile.
Z z z. . .
"Huh?" You swat at your face before sneezing, immediately standing up as you felt something tickling your face, what fell from your face and onto your lap was a pristine white feather.
Immediately standing up, finding yourself out of bed, no, out of your own room and seemingly not even in your fucking city as you started at the environment before you. Lush, verdant grass that swayed with the winds. Birds chirping as they flew high and above your form, some scattering the same feathers that made you sneeze.
A wave of fear and confusion washed over you, you were afraid as you began to realize this wasn't a dream when you ran, and ran, and tripped. Part of your pajama pants had been ruined and vaguely you can feel the blood dripped down on your leg from your fresh injury.
Wincing you stand up, not bothering to look as it as you cried out, wondering, where the hell were you?
. . .
It probably took you a few hours to get your bearings, sitting by a tree as you hugged your knees and contemplated your existence, did you screw with some God or Rich Asshole and they decided to kidnap you and dump you in the middle of nowhere as revenge?
Nah, you were antisocial, so screwing with some rich guy was highly unlike with your lack of a social life. You bit your nails, was it God? "At least give me a sign of where I am!" you shout frustrated as you pulled at your locks.
"Ouch!" Wincing, you rubbed the top part of your head as something fell on it, the perpetrator was round, yellow and orange in color. Your eyes widened, silently grabbing it as you ignored the now dulling pain in your head. .
It was plump, fragrant. .
you bit it.
It tasted sweet.
you ignored the juice that dribbled down you chin as you nodded, yes, this was how you imagined Sunsettia's would taste like base on it's description.
you blinked, jaw dropping.
Sunsettias. .
fuck you were in Teyvat, basically Genshin Impact.
A part of you felt like you were screwed, considering how all of your worldly possessions were gone, and you were here in nothing but your pockets. One hand went to pat the pockets of your pajamas. .
Eyes lighting up as you felt something, pulling that item out, you were speechless as your hand simply held an old expired coupon for some ramen. . .
screwed it is then.

I need to find a banner to use for the series, also also although I put in Baker, the reader will also make dishes, both from in-game and in real lifeee so if you want a particular dish featured in a future chapter, add the recommended dish in my ASKS so it can be a surprise for other readers! Please also add information about that dish since I may most likely not be familiar with themm

The day had barely started, and you had already decided it wasn’t going to be a good one. You were rudely awoken at the ungodly hour of six a.m. The sun wasn’t even up yet, but you were. You tried to go back to bed, but each attempt at closing your eyes and relaxing were fruitless. You just couldn’t get comfortable again; you were too hot or too cold. The room was too quiet, and your thoughts were too loud. With a heavy sigh, you peeled the covers back and quietly stepped out of the bed to use the restroom. While you washed your hands, you looked at yourself in the mirror. And just like every other day this week, you frowned at your reflection.
You had a history of negative thoughts of your body. But you had spent a long time recovering from that toxic mindset. Your husband was a big part of that process. Jeonghan knew about your issues, and he had no problem letting you know that he liked you every and any way you looked. Even after five years together, no matter if you were in fancy clothes or sweatpants, his eyes lit up the same way when he set his eyes on you. He made you like your body for the first time in a long time. But some times were harder than others, and this week had been a hard time.
Nothing had really set it off. You had just been having low self esteem that then snowballed into nitpicking the way you looked in the mirror. If it wasn’t your face then it was your arms, or your stomach, or your legs, or your breasts. Sometimes it wasn’t just about your physicality. You felt like crap. You had mood swings and unwarranted anxiety. You overthought a lot. You felt like you weren’t enough, or you were boring.
You tried your absolute best to save face in front of your husband, not wanting to burden him with your issues, but he knew. He always knew. The slightest shift in your behavior would tip him off. Today was no different.
After you spent several minutes staring in the bathroom mirror, mentally berating yourself, you re-entered the bedroom. You shut the restroom light off but noticed Jeonghan’s bedside lamp was turned on, bathing the room in the softest white light. Your steps came to a halt just out of the doorway as you made eye contact with him. He was sitting up on his side, nearest to the bathroom, looking at you with a small smile just before he yawned.
“Decided to be an early bird today?” he joked.
You knew he was joking, but you couldn’t help but feel an immense amount of guilt for waking him up. You frowned once again, “Did I wake you? I’m so sorry. You can go back to bed, I’ll go in the living room.”
You went to leave the room, but he stopped you with one word, “No.”
For the second time, you came to a halt mid-step and met his eyes from across the room.
“Come here,” he gestured you over with two fingers. As you got closer, you could tell how tired he was. The skin under his eyes were smudged with that faint purplish-brown color that he only got when he didn’t get enough sleep. Your heart sank, “Sit.”
You did as he told you, sitting facing him as he scooted over to make some room for you on the edge of the bed. He looked into your eyes, searching for something, but you weren’t sure what it was yet.
“What’s been going on in that big, beautiful brain of yours?” he asked, a stray piece of his fringe falling over his eyebrow. You so badly wanted to push it back where it came from. His hair looked so soft first thing in the morning.
“Nothing, I just couldn’t go back to sleep,” you supposed it wasn’t a complete lie.
“________,” he said your name the same way a disappointed parent would, “Please talk to me.”
You took a deep, shaky breath, mentally preparing yourself to unload, “I’ve been in one of my moods lately. Just feeling bad about myself. About the way I look. The way I feel. It’s just . . . been a lot.”
Your husband’s soft features seemed to harden the more you spoke, as if he was upset or angered by the words he was hearing. You averted your gaze from his, too ashamed to meet those beautiful brown eyes. For a moment he didn’t speak, he just looked at you. You started to feel uneasy under his stare, but then he was moving, carefully pulling the sheets back to free his legs. You asked him what he was doing, but he didn’t respond.
So, with worry setting in, you sat on the edge of the bed. You watched as he got up from the bed (in only his briefs) to cross the room where your full-length mirror was propped up in the corner. Despite the mirror being pretty hefty by itself, he picked it up with what looked like minimal effort. He placed it right in front of the wall opposite from where you sat, then he climbed back onto the bed, settling in right behind you.
He placed his hands on your shoulders, and you finally met his gaze through the mirror.
“What about your body do you not like?” he asked.
You felt frozen in place, and it didn’t help that his hands felt like they were anchoring you down. You weren’t going anywhere, as far as he was concerned.
“Tell me,” he urged you again.
You swallowed the nervousness building in your throat. Your eyes, along with his, raked over the image of your body in the mirror. From only a few feet away, the first thing you noticed was how bloated you looked, “I’ve been gaining a little weight in my stomach.”
Instantly, Jeonghan’s hands were slithering from your shoulders down to your torso. His lithe fingers splayed out over the soft fabric of your shirt covering your belly, “This stomach? The one I spend hours a week cooking for to make sure it’s fed and happy? To make sure you’re healthy? A little weight isn’t anything to worry about. It’s normal, ________.”
You refused to make eye contact with him, for fear of your eyes tearing up.
“What else?”
Your eyes spotted the top of your arms, the faint stretch marks you had grown accustomed to over the years were just barely showing from where your arm brushed against your ribs, “My arms.”
Your husband’s hand encircled your wrist, carefully turning your arm so that it was outstretched and your stretch marks were on display. He leaned down just enough for his lips to effortlessly press kisses to the delicate skin there, the shallow fissures not deterring him in the slightest. Truthfully, he never noticed them until you brought them up.
“My legs have cellulite,” you muttered so quietly, not even realizing you had said it out loud until he moved his hands down to your thighs.
His blunt fingernails drew goosebumps to the surface of your skin as he dragged them smoothly up your leg. He gripped your flesh in his palm, then soothed it with a gentle, massaging gesture, “These are not things you should feel bad about, _______.”
He whispered that against the shell of your ear, making you close your eyes to keep tears from spilling. You felt his supple lips press tender, healing kisses against the skin of your neck and shoulder. His hands snaked over your body, revisiting the areas you’ve pinpointed. Without words, he was telling you how much he loved your body. Exactly how it was. He always would.
“My wife is the most beautiful woman in the world,” he said, his fingertips sliding between your thighs. Your skin there was naturally warm. Your breath hitched in your throat as he grazed over the material of your underwear while his other hand parted your legs. He loved that you didn’t wear pants to sleep. This way he could see the space between your thighs in the mirror; in fact, his eyes were locked on it, “You don’t think my wife is beautiful?”
You didn’t speak. You couldn’t. You didn’t know how to respond to that; or rather, you didn’t know how he wanted you to respond.
“Tell her she’s beautiful,” he spoke sternly, not giving you the option to say ‘No’.
“She is,” you said, a shaky gasp escaping you as his fingertips dipped beneath the edge of your panties.
He rubbed the pads of his fingers over your slit, his words ghosting over your neck as he spoke, “She’s what?”
“Beautiful,” you said.
“That’s right,” he continued to stroke your sensitive skin that was growing wet the more he worked you up. Your chest moved up and down with every heavy breath you took. He was holding back a smirk at the effect he had on you. And you could definitely feel the effect you had on him, his erection was practically poking your ass from behind, “My wife is the most beautiful woman on Earth.”
You nodded, not even really listening to what he was saying anymore. All you could focus on was the way his fingers were circling your clit perfectly. You rested your head on his shoulder, letting him have his way with his lips and teeth on your neck. Hickeys were blossoming all along the skin there, and you couldn’t care less.
“You’re always the prettiest person in every room,” he talked to you while your hips chased after his fingers that were relentlessly pleasuring you, “You’re the smartest. The most beautiful. The funniest. The most caring. You’re the best partner I could ever ask for, you know that, don’t you?”
You were too far gone, eyes beginning to close. Your thighs were starting to ache, wanting to close around his wrist. Jeonghan simply pushed them back open with his free hand before using his fingers to tilt your chin up. He caught your wide-eyed gaze in the mirror ahead of you two, and he looked like a teacher on the verge of reprimanding a student.
“__________,” just the way he said your name sent a chill down your spine.
“I know,” you agreed and, for the first time this morning, he believed you.
“Good, now I want you to watch yourself cum,” he gripped your chin gently, keeping your eyes locked on the sight before you.
You couldn’t deny him even if you wanted to. He kept you locked in. His fingers were bringing you to orgasm, his soft fingertips keeping a determined pace on the button at the top of your folds. They sent your pussy into a frenzy, clenching and pulsating around nothing, arousal leaking out onto your skin. It was getting to be too much, so you had to pull his hand away. But he only intertwined his fingers with yours, bringing your arms up to your chest as he hugged you from behind.
“Don’t keep all these thoughts to yourself,” his gentle voice floated over the skin of your shoulder before he pressed a kiss to it, “As your husband, I’ll be here for you whenever you need me. However you need me. I said that in my vows, and I meant it. Every word.”

A little snippet based off this post
Tumblr media
Tim and Stephanie would both like to preface they know what they're doing is a bad idea. They do not need Duke, who is also listening in, to repeatedly tell them how terrible of an idea this is. He still does anyway, just to make sure he can rub it in when this all backfires later, but really, Tim and Stephanie already know.
They have both just decided to ignore that silly little fact in the name of information gathering.
So here sits Steph and Duke, huddled up in Duke's bedroom in front of Tim's laptop. Tim, meanwhile, is disguised as some random blonde haired, brown eyed kid. His fake backstory is vaguely based off one socialite or another, because even though he can change his tone or his accent, he just can't seem to hide the wealthy sounding lit in his voice.
In the back of his head, Jason and Stephanie's voices overlap. Once a rich boy always a rich boy, they say. Tim shivers.
"The Baby Bird has landed in The Nest." Duke sighs over Tim's com. "I still don't understand why the codenames are necessary."
"You know why they're necessary."
"Ow!"
Tim may not be in the same room as them, but it's not hard to figure out that Stephanie gave Duke a good punch on the arm. If Tim was there himself, he would've done it too. Duke knows that saying Peter's name within a miles range of the manor will cause the entire family to appear.
Duke himself wasn't even originally part of the plan! The only reason he's here is because Steph said Peter's name while they were talking, and then Duke just happened to wander one of the empty rooms in the manor! Seriously, what business did he even have in there?!
"Landing in the nest." Tim whispers. "Muting now."
"Roger that."
He mutes their side of the com, so they can hear everything he hears, but he can't hear them. It can be overridden by the two still at the manor if the need be, but Tim has faith that he at least won't fuck up that bad. Not bad enough for any help Steph can offer to be useful, at least.
He steps inside the coffee shop Peter frequents, oddly enough, it's actually called The Nest, and Tim's favorite cafe. It's the only place he can get their liquid death special, and he's pretty sure the only reason they keep it around is because he always tips at least $200 when he comes.
It makes sense that Peter would also frequent the place since he's his future nephew. Though, it's probably because Tim passed down his coffee habits. A fact that he will elect to keep from Dick so the man doesn't kill him before Peter's born.
Speaking of Peter, he just sat down in the far corner booth. The one that still has ink stained in the old wood, from that time he got a little too frustrated working on a case here. The one that has Dick's lightly carved initials in the side of the table, because when he wants to spend one on one time with Tim he likes to bring him here, knowing he can't say no to their coffee.
It makes him warm, knowing they probably continued the tradition with Peter when he was old enough.
Currently, Peter is tinkering with a futuristic looking watch. His coffee sits a good distance away, an obviously learned behavior, because Tim does the same thing after many many many drinks lost to an unrefined sweep of his arm. He's pulling other pieces out of a good sized black backpack next to him, quickly covering the whole booth in random looking machinery, completely engrossed in his project.
So Tim does what any other self respecting uncle whose nephew doesn't know he's his uncle, would do. He buys his favorite coffee, adjusts the blonde wig by running a seemingly innocuous hand through it, tips the barista, and sits across from his nephew with a smile.
He calls it a win when Peter wearily returns it.
"Sorry if I'm intruding." Tim starts, throwing a little rasp in his voice for the sake of his cover. "I was just curious about what you're... Working on... Looks complicated."
"Oh, it's a uh-- personal project. For my mentor. I'm under strict NDAs."
Tim nods. He wonders if Peter's telling the truth, and if he is, he's sure the NDAs are from WE, it's just a question on who he's referring to as a mentor.
"Ah, that's too bad. Do you mind if I just sit and watch? For curiosity's sake, I mean."
Even to his own ears that sounded suspicious, but he's never been good at improv. That's more Jason and Dick's thing.
Peter, at the very least, doesn't seem to care. He just shrugs and sips his coffee.
In that case, whatever he's working on probably can't be replicated at this point in time. There's probably some big discovery that hasn't been made yet, which makes Tim wonder who made the discovery. He'd bet $50 on himself or Bruce.
Conversation doesn't continue after that, so Tim just sits and observes.
Peter is clearly skilled. He moves with an assured elegance only to be competed with by himself and Jason, since both of them are the most skilled engineers of the family, though in two different fields. It's especially impressive with the eyebags that pull heavily on Peter's face, which he's sure he got from Bruce and not him no siree. Peter did not learn to overwork himself to death from him, that would be unacceptable.
The exhaustion leaks into his whole body. Low shoulders, slow movements, heavy slouching, small periods of zoning out and coming back to himself. He looks a little bit like shit, if Tim were to be fully honest.
At least it will be easier to get information out of him this way. The quicker they get information, the quicker they can send him home, the quicker his family can bundle him up and let him sleep for a week.
"So," Tim cannot help but break the silence. He's an anxious talker. "Your mentor? Is he cool?"
Peter pauses, his eyes slowly dragging up to meet Tim's brown contacts. "He's the best. I spend basically all my time with him nowadays."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. He's kinda hard on me, but it's just cuz he cares, y'know? He thinks he's this like- manipulative genius that has somehow fooled me into liking him, but honestly, he's giving himself too much credit. He just doesn't want to accept the fact that he's a good person, or that he's gone soft."
Peter rambles and Tim listens, nodding along as he talks. He's sure Duke and Stephanie are tuned in as well. Between the three of them there's no way they don't at least get some information on how to help him.
"I'm sure your parents are thrilled about that." Tim puts implication in his tone. He's not sure what he's apparently implying, but insinuation tends to make people defensive, and getting defensive makes people talk.
Peter does not get defensive.
"I wouldn't know." He shrugs. "They're not here for me to ask."
"Oh, where are they?" Tim asks, like an idiot.
"Dead."
Tim's whole world may have just crumbled before his eyes. He feels like somebody just crushed his lungs with their barehands, and then stuck them back in, sideways.
The first thought that comes to him is he cannot tell Dick. Under no circumstances can Dick find out. Hell, Tim kinda wishes he hadn't found out.
"I'm sorry for your loss." His throat is dry, the coffee isn't helping.
"Nah, it's alright. They died when I was little, so I don't have a lot of memories of them anyway."
"I-It's still unfortunate." Tim coughs. "So who raised you then? If you don't mind me asking."
A smile overtakes Peter's face. It's warm, loving, and wistful. It makes Peter look five years younger, and that makes Tim's heart clench.
"My uncle and aunt did."
"You look very fond of them."
Peter looks more awake than has this whole time, just the slightest bit bashful. "I am. They're the best."
Tim is having a hard time grasping how utterly crushed he feels, he can only hope it doesn't show on his face as he talks. Maybe he can play it off as being overly sympathetic.
"So it was just you guys then? No other family?"
"Nope." Peter shakes his head. "My uncle didn't really get along with any of them, and after he took me in, my aunt went no contact like he did."
So it was probably Jason who took him in then, which is somehow exactly something he would do and nothing like him at the same time. Tim has to wonder where Bruce was, or himself. And which aunt? Tim bets on Stephanie, but it could've been Cass.
"It sounds like you've lived an interesting life."
"Yeah. I wouldn't trade it for the world though." The truth in those words aches Tim's chest, he feels so winded... Lost, maybe. He almost forgets to listen when Peter continues reminiscing. "My aunt definitely did her fair share to make it interesting. She's basically the fiery redhead stereotype, but she cares a lot about everyone..."
Whatever Peter says next gets lost as Tim sinks into his own thoughts. The aunt is not Cass or Steph, unless one of them has been repeatedly dying their hair for years. Steph might still be on the table, maybe. More likely is Barbara, or possibly even Kori, maybe Roy is trans and hasn't told anyone yet. He'll have to ask Jason when he gets the chance.
Tim regrets his coffee, he thinks he's gonna be sick.
"Are you okay?"
Clearly, Tim is doing a bad job at hiding it.
"Yeah, sorry I need to get back home now, but thanks for keeping me company."
He could have stayed. Probably should have, even. But Tim doesn't think he can stand another moment with that old ink stain in eyesight.
"Oh yeah, it's no problem. I didn't mean to ramble to you like that."
Peter rubs his hand on the back of his neck, his eyes trailing off in the distance. He's embarrassed, he knows it for sure because Dick makes that exact same expression.
Tim walks out, and the chime of the bell above the coffee shop door sounds more far away than it should.
He can distantly hear Stephanie's voice in his ear say, "Well. Fuck."
Tim couldn't have put it better himself

I wrote this at 1am and it's barely proofread so don't @ me if there are mistakes. Who would've thought this would be my first piece of writing posted on this blog, huh
1) the watch. It's the universe hopping watch from spiderverse, figured that'd be a good explanation for how he got here and for what he's doing at the coffee shop
2) complete coincidence that it was that coffee shop fyi, he just needed a place to work
3) he chose that booth bc it's the booth that overlooks the entire cafe. It's vigilante 101 about seating choices.
4) thank you to @magicpiano for the original post. I have so many more thoughts about it but I doubt I'll write another piece... Maybe <(͡°‿ ͡°)>
Send me an ask, if you want /ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\

Noticing you <33
Hobie brown x gn!reader oneshot
My first time doing a whole oneshot for hobie! Any advice on his character is happily accepted :)
Warnings: a lil blood, no use of y/n, i dont think anything else but if you notice something tell me!!
Summary: hobie slowly falling you <3
-----------
Hobie brown wasn't sure when he first noticed you. But he thought it was the class trip you took in secondary school.
He was always vaguely aware of you. People talked, they always did. He was vaguely aware of all the not-quite-normal people, the goths, the emos, the other punks.... And so he knew you existed.
And then you went on this trip..
You weren't in the same room, but you were in the same chaperone group.
And then he was painfully aware you existed.
He saw that whenever there was a street performaner you would run and put a few dollars into their case, and he noticed when you offered your sunglasses to someone from another group, and he saw how you would pick up little trinkets from the ground and shove them into your pockets like a bird.
He watched when you smiled whenever someone said something nice about you. He watched you sit by a kid you didn't know because they were alone. He was painfully aware whenever the two of you made eye contact and you smiled at him, he always looked away.
He watched when you held a crying kid's hand and helped her find her mom.
And on the bus ride back, he noticed how you fell asleep sitting up, your head resting on the window. he noticed when you woke up too. And how you yawned and.. he noticed just about all of it.
By the end of the it, he was convinced you were some kind of angel.
He didn't even believe in that kind of thing, he never did. But there wasn't any chance that someone as perfect as you was human.
(He didn't believe in perfection either)
He  took notice of you in the hallways, and when you got on the school bus. then he noticed how whenever he was sent down to the office for his 'behavior issues' (another thing he didn't believe in) you were sitting with the school councilor.
Eventually, though a friend, you too started talking. And then you started hanging out with his friend group.
He noticed you when the group hung out for the first time out of school. It was just the mall, and he noticed how you offered to me buy him a shirt when he said he didn't bring money.
He rejected the offer but he didn't protest when you Gave him half of your pretzels from the food court, claiming you 'weren't that hungry'. He could tell it was a lie.
Eventually when he did get your number from the same mutual friend, he was a bit too happy when you texted back immediately.
And then you guys got closer.
He noticed how you would mess with his rings whenever he'd let you, and how you would always tug on that wallet chain you wore. He wondered what you would do if he started tugging on it.
And eventually, he got more confident.
And, yeah, Hobie was always touchy. And, yeah, you didn't mind when his fingers tugged on your belt loops, or his arm wrapped around your shoulder whenever you stood next to him.
Eventually, you met up just the two of you, cause the rest of the group was busy. It was casual, and you definitely didn't panic a little when he grabbed your hand as you walked around that old record store he wanted to show you around.
His voice pulled you back to reality a moment after, "you alright?" He smiled after you nodded, "what kinda music you like, luv?"
And then there was tonight.
He was panicked, and hurt, and he didn't know where else to go. His suit was half covered in blood, which was coming from his left arm. He was dizzy, and he could barly stand right. He didn't realize where he was untill he was knocking on the window of your flat.
When you opened you window, he tugged off his mask.
He noticed how scared you looked for a moment, as your hand flew over your mouth, but he was thankful as you opened your window.
He noticed how focused you looked as he sat silently and your wrapped arm with bandaids and an ace bandage. And he was thankful when you gave him Tylenol and one of your oversized hoodies. You even offered to wash his suit.
Finally, when you knew he was okay, and he was laying down in your bed (next to a pile of stuffed animals which he thought was excessively cute) you had a chance to question him.
He noticed how your eyebrows furrowed as you asked him about being spiderman, and you asked him if he was feeling okay again. Then you asked him the question he was the most worried about.
"..why did you come here?"
You noticed as he hesitated for a moment.
Hobie gave it a thought why did he come here? He was half delirious, he could say that. Or he could be honest.
"You make me feel safe. I Knew you could help me out, figured I could trust you with the whole secret identity thing too."
You noticed that he seemed more mellow then he normally did, more soft. It made your heart melt.
You offered to sleep on the couch in the main room, but he promised he wouldn't mind sleeping next to you. Honestly? You didn't mind either.
Eventually, you ended up in his arms, pressed against his chest, his head in the crook of your neck.
He could hear your heartbeat, and you could feel his hands on your waist.
"...thanks, luvie."
He whispered quietly, and you felt him press a kiss onto your shoulder. His voice could give you goosebumps, and his lip piercing felt warm on your skin.
"Course' Hobes.."
You whispered back, almost unsure. He noticed that, of course he did.
Hobie Brown wasn't sure when he fell in love with you, but he was sure it happened. And he was sure that it was never going to change.
Eventually, he'll tell you, that's what he promised himself that night.
What he couldn't notice was how you promised yourself the same thing.

pairing: Spencer Reid x gn! reader warnings: not proofread words: 832 summary: 3 different ways Spencer shows he loves you
masterlist
one Spencer often went away for long periods of time, it came with having a job at the BAU. Despite missing him and disliking how quiet your home becomes, you knew what you were getting into. You would never stop him from going on a case, no matter how little time you get to spend with him in between.
The longing for your partner was not onesided. There were times Spencer hated to be away for so long, to come home for a few days before leaving you again. He disliked how lonely he felt at night, the bed in the hotel felt too large without someone else there.
It's why he was out and about in whatever city he was in at the time. He would send you photos of things that remind him of you. Maybe some blooming flowers out front of a store. A dog that vaguely looks like you. A couple of birds sitting on a branch together.
Sometimes they would be accompanied by messages. 'thinking of you'. 'doesn't it kinda look like you?'. 'did you know these birds mate for life'. Just small facts or messages that always bring a smile to your face.
It helped ease the loneliness when he was away, knowing he was thinking of you just as much as you were thinking of him.
two While you weren't as much of a book addict as Spencer, you enjoyed reading. You often asked the man to recommend one for you to read. It always brought a smile to his face as he rambled on about the plot and characters, ensuring he did not give anything away. You read at a much more leisurely pace than your partner who could read large chapter books like it was a small letter.
Sometimes you were a bit jealous of his ability to read so fast, not wishing to wade through a large part of the text before getting to the exciting part. But you could not help but enjoy curling up in a chair with a cup of tea and a good book.
Persuasion by Jane Austen was the book you were currently reading, being recommended after expressing a desire for a romance book. But as you read you began to notice small annotations hastily scribbled in Spencer's handwriting. Somewhere about the characters or the thoughts on the themes. But some were drawing parallels to your relationship.
The more you read the less the annotations became about the book and more about your relationship. You found it endearing, more reading the book to get to the next annotation than the next chapter. A stupid love-sick smile graced your face as your eyes skimmed over the writing squeezed in between paragraphs.
The sound of footsteps graced your ears as you quickly began finishing the page you were on. "Enjoying the book?" Spencer's voice rang out, wanting to ensure his recommendation was right. Glazing up at him from the book your smile only grew. "Yes, I am. But I find myself liking the annotations better."
It took a moment for Spencer to understand before the tip of his ears flushed red as well as his cheeks. His eyes flicked downwards as he grappled with what to say. Deciding to give him a break you speak again. "I find them very cute. Shows how much you love me."
three It wasn't often that Spencer had time to sleep in, not getting up at the crack of dawn to get an early start on his work. So, you wanted to do something sweet for him, and what was better than breakfast in bed? What you didn't account for was him waking up before you were finished.
Humming a tune to yourself, you failed to hear the patter of sock-clad feet on the floor. Too busy making sure you didn't overcook the eggs in the frying pan. When two lanky arms wrapped around your middle, it caused a squeak of surprise to be pulled from you. The spatula in your hand dropped onto the counter in surprise.
Soft, muffled laughter filled the room, a mop of brown curls invading your vision as Spencer buried his face into your shoulder. A small huff leaves you, realising your surprise is ruined. "You're meant to be asleep." You whined though a small smile played on your lips, enjoying the sleepy back hug you were receiving.
"Sorry, darling. I just missed you in bed." His voice was rough with sleep, clearly having only woken up moments ago to an empty bed and set out to find you. Reaching one hand up you ran your fingers through his messy hair pulling a small hum of pleasure from him.
"Why don't you go back to bed? I'll bring breakfast and we can spend the morning there?" You offer softly, it takes a moment before you feel a soft nod. Spencer untangling himself from you before trudging off to bed once more, a small lovesick smile on his face.

Life had always been a quiet affair for you. Each day blended into the next, a monochrome tapestry of routine and solitude. School was no exception - a place where you existed more as a shadow than a person, drifting through hallways and classrooms with barely a ripple in your wake.
It wasn't that you disliked people. No, it was more that you had grown accustomed to the gentle hum of loneliness, finding comfort in the predictability of your own company, at least you were forced to enjoy your own company. Your classmates' names and faces blurred together, a sea of unfamiliar familiarity that you navigated with practiced indifference.
This particular morning started like any other. You rose with the sun, mechanically prepared for school, and set off on your usual route. The spring air was crisp, carrying the scent of cherry blossoms that lined the street. As you walked, your mind wandered, lost in the labyrinth of your thoughts.
You barely registered the school gates as you passed through them, your feet carrying you on autopilot. The chatter of other students washed over you, a meaningless backdrop to your internal musings. You were contemplating the English assignment due next week, mentally cataloging the books you'd need to reference, when it happened.
One moment you were lost in thought, the next you felt the solid impact of colliding with another person. The shock jolted you back to reality, your eyes widening as you stumbled backward.
"Oh!" A male voice exclaimed, surprise evident in his tone.
As you regained your balance, you finally focused on the person you'd walked into. It was a boy, probably around your age, with dark hair that fell softly around his face. His blue eyes were wide with surprise, one hand half-raised as if he'd been about to steady you. There was something vaguely familiar about him, like a face you'd seen in passing a hundred times but never truly looked at.
Next to him stood a girl with long, light brown hair and an expression that rapidly shifted from surprise to anger. You had a fleeting thought that you might have seen her before too, but your notoriously unreliable memory provided no name or context.
You opened your mouth, an apology forming on your lips, when the girl's voice cut through the air like a knife.
"What do you think you're doing?" she demanded, her eyes flashing. "Don't you dare touch my boyfriend!"
The words hit you like a physical force, leaving you reeling. Confusion clouded your mind as you tried to process what was happening. Boyfriend? You hadn't meant to touch anyone. It was an accident. Why was she so angry?
Your face, usually a mask of calm indifference, betrayed your bewilderment. You blinked rapidly, mouth slightly agape as you struggled to form a response.
The boy - apparently her boyfriend - turned to the girl, his expression a mix of embarrassment and irritation. "Hori, it was just an accident," he said, his voice low but firm. "There's no need to-"
But the girl - Hori - wasn't listening. She took a step forward, her hands balled into fists at her sides. "Are you even listening? I said, stay away from him!"
You flinched at the volume of her voice, acutely aware of the curious stares of other students beginning to gather around you. Your heart raced in your chest, a caged bird beating against your ribs. This was exactly the kind of attention you always strived to avoid.
Summoning your courage, you tried to speak, to explain, to diffuse the situation somehow. But before you could utter a word, you felt hands on your shoulders, pushing you backward with surprising force.
You stumbled, nearly losing your footing. The shock of the physical contact left you breathless, your mind reeling. In all your years of fading into the background, you'd never experienced anything like this.
The boy - Hori's boyfriend - looked positively mortified now. His face had gone pale, and he reached out towards Hori, clearly trying to calm her down. "Hori, stop it! You're overreacting. It was just an accident, okay?"
But his words seemed to fall on deaf ears. Hori stood there, glaring at you with an intensity that made you want to sink into the ground and disappear.
You stood frozen, your body tense, your mind a whirlwind of confusion and fear. You weren't used to dealing with such strong emotions - especially not from others. Your own feelings were usually kept carefully in check, hidden behind a facade of quiet reservation. But now, in the face of this unexpected confrontation, you felt your carefully constructed walls beginning to crumble.
Your eyes darted between Hori, her boyfriend, and the growing crowd of onlookers. The urge to run, to escape this bewildering situation, was almost overwhelming. But something kept you rooted to the spot - perhaps the lingering shock, or some deep-seated instinct telling you that running would only make things worse.
As the tension hung in the air, Miyamura's mind was in turmoil. The sight of you, standing there looking lost and confused, triggered a flood of memories from his own past. He saw himself in you - the quiet, reserved child he once was, the target of bullies, the one who faded into the background to avoid attention.
His eyes traced your hunched posture, the way you clutched your bag like a shield, the barely concealed fear in your eyes. It was like looking into a mirror of his younger self, and the realization hit him like a physical blow.
Hori's angry words faded into the background as Miyamura's thoughts raced. He remembered the loneliness of his childhood, the sting of cruel words, the bruises from physical bullying. He thought of the piercings hidden beneath his uniform, each one a testament to his journey of self-discovery and resilience.
In that moment, Miyamura felt a deep, visceral horror at Hori's behavior. The girl he cared for, usually so kind and understanding, was acting like the very bullies that had made his life miserable. He wanted to reach out to you, to offer some word of comfort or understanding, but found himself frozen, caught between his past and present.
Your quiet, almost emotionless apology snapped Miyamura back to reality. He watched, a lump forming in his throat, as you quickly walked away from Hori's accusing gaze. Your retreating figure seemed to blur with the image of his younger self, walking away from yet another confrontation, another day of feeling invisible and misunderstood.
As you disappeared around the corner, Miyamura felt a surge of empathy and regret. He should have done more, said more. He knew all too well the pain of being singled out, of being the focus of unwanted attention.
"Hori," he said softly, turning to his girlfriend. "That wasn't right. She didn't do anything wrong."
Hori, still bristling with indignation, opened her mouth to argue, but something in Miyamura's expression made her pause. She'd rarely seen him look so serious, so… hurt.
"Let's just go to class," Miyamura said, his voice tight with suppressed emotion. As they walked, he couldn't shake the image of you from his mind. He wondered about your story, about the experiences that had shaped you into the quiet, reserved person he'd glimpsed in that brief encounter.
The hallway seemed to stretch endlessly before them as they made their way to class. Miyamura's steps felt heavy, weighed down by memories and regret. He could hear snippets of conversation from other students, whispers about the scene that had just unfolded. It made him feel sick.
As they approached the classroom, Miyamura caught sight of you again. You were just ahead of them, your shoulders hunched, your pace quick as if trying to escape. He wanted to call out to you, to apologize, to offer some word of comfort. But the words stuck in his throat.
Entering the classroom behind you, Miyamura felt a sense of dread. This was your safe space, he realized, the place where you could blend into the background and avoid attention. And now, because of what had happened, all eyes would be on you.
He watched as you made your way to your seat, your movements stiff and uncomfortable under the curious stares of your classmates. Miyamura felt a pang in his chest, remembering countless similar moments from his own past.
As he sat down at his desk, Miyamura couldn't help but think that this day, which had started so ordinarily, had become a turning point. For you, for him, for his relationship with Hori. He glanced back at you, noting the way you seemed to be trying to make yourself as small as possible in your seat.
In that moment, Miyamura made a silent promise to himself. He would find a way to make this right. He would show you that not everyone was like the bullies from his past, that there were people who could see beyond the quiet exterior to the person within.
As the teacher entered and class began, Miyamura's mind was far from the lesson. Instead, he was lost in thoughts of past and present, of hidden scars and silent struggles, and of the unexpected connection he now felt with the quiet girl who sat behind him.
As the lunch bell rang, the classroom erupted into a flurry of activity. Students rose from their seats, chattering excitedly about their plans for the break. You remained seated, watching as Hori practically dragged Miyamura and her friends out of the room, her voice carrying back to you.
"Come on, let's go to the roof! I'm starving!" Hori exclaimed, her earlier anger seemingly forgotten.
"Hori, slow down," Miyamura's softer voice replied, a note of concern evident.
Their voices faded as they disappeared down the hallway, leaving you alone in the now-quiet classroom. The silence enveloped you like a familiar, if unwelcome, friend.
You reached into your bag, pulling out the bento box your mother had carefully prepared that morning. Setting it on your desk, you stared at it, feeling a lump form in your throat.
This was your life, distilled into a single moment. Alone, always alone, even in a room full of people. The realization hit you anew, as fresh and painful as if it were the first time you'd acknowledged it.
You felt a hot tear slide down your cheek and let out a quiet, bitter chuckle. "Pathetic," you whispered to yourself, the word hanging in the air like a judgment.
Your mind began to spiral, thoughts tumbling over each other in a familiar, depressing cascade.
'What's wrong with me?' you wondered, your inner voice tinged with self-loathing. 'Why can't I be like them? Why can't I laugh and chat and make friends so easily?'
You thought about Hori and her group, imagining them on the roof now, sharing food and jokes, creating memories you'd never be part of. The loneliness felt like a physical ache in your chest.
'I'm invisible,' you thought, your fingers tracing patterns on the desk. 'No, worse than invisible. When people do notice me, it's only to yell or push me away.'
The memory of the morning's confrontation flashed through your mind, bringing a fresh wave of shame and hurt.
'I don't belong here. I don't belong anywhere. What chance do I have at friendship, at love, at any kind of normal life?'
Your thoughts turned to Miyamura. For a brief moment, you'd thought you'd seen understanding in his eyes. But that was probably just your imagination, wasn't it? Why would someone like him ever notice someone like you?
You wiped your tears away roughly with the back of your hand, angry at yourself for crying, for feeling, for caring.
Looking down at your unopened bento, you felt a wave of nausea. The thought of eating made your stomach churn. You pushed the box away slightly, your appetite completely gone.
The classroom remained silent, the only sound your own shaky breathing as you tried to compose yourself. You stared out the window, watching clouds drift by in a sky that seemed impossibly blue and cheerful, a stark contrast to the gray world you felt trapped in.
As you sat there, alone with your thoughts and untouched lunch, you couldn't help but wonder if things would ever change, if you'd ever find a place where you truly belonged. The answer, as always, seemed depressingly clear.
well, you may not like it but you better learn how ‘cause it’s your turn now
