hello there can you do a platonic ford x demon reader
so reader is a demon of negative energy so others would think they are dangerous but nope the reader just spends most of their time nice and calm but also in pillow bases and forts all over the shak when the reader can and ford is just taking notes while it's happening and gets pulled into one of the forts with them.
Platonic ford x demon reader
Warnings: none
Type: headcanon platonic
✎ᝰ. Ford was always naturally a smart and intelligent person. So why in his right mind did he decide to let you stay here in the shack with them? For the research of course.
✎ᝰ. Negative energy is more cosmic then most think, unbounded by the pull of the universe itself, for negative energy simply isn’t emotion. In fact, emotion doesn’t even have to do with the feeding process of these forces of raw energy itself like most would assume from the name itself. A festering pool of dark energy collected in a plain of existence where space bends and time slows. matter not visible to the eye yet so powerful it sucks in anything, similar to how a vacuum cleaner sucks in surrounding dust from the suction force of the machine itself, trapping those particles inside it. A plain of existence far from man’s comprehension. Invisible to all senses until it is too late. To be hunted by creatures that aren’t physically present.
✎ᝰ. Some call them demons, violent creatures of sin and wrath, grasping everything in their claws like a wild animal caged in a chamber of fire. This depiction was far, far from the truth of these extraordinary beings, these beings powerful enough to break through there own worlds boundaries to exceed beyond there own realms in search for something as a shared goal. It was different from a hive mind, far more complex than any.
✎ᝰ. It seemed though you in particular strayed far from that collective mind, having made yourself home cocooned in the plush blanket fort that not so neatly draped blankets over chairs to form its shelter from the ceiling fans light, pillow cases and couch cushions shoved inside the fort itself to finish off the cozy makeshift tent like bed. How odd.
✎ᝰ. The only evidence of your presence was the invisible force picking up the blankets, and draping them around yourself, enjoying staring at the tvs flashing lights and colours that illuminated the room. It was fascinating how you could see the dimension you were in yet, no one could see you. Perhaps you were a higher being, or perhaps your realm was a dimension between the third and fourth? A path way to both ends where the universe is at its thinned string when meeting ends.
✎ᝰ. Perhaps your presence wasn’t entire here, a face of yourself that is projected to interact with the social life of a different realm? To research just like him. Even so. Why insist on him joining you in the tent. You couldn’t feel warmth from the blankets and yet you clung to them, you couldn’t speak to him but continued to gesture with objects around to communicate. Why go through the trouble of it? What was the purpose of it?
✎ᝰ. Though, this wasn’t entirely bad, for this shall be a new opportunity for him. And perhaps for you as well to learn about your realms and each other.

Healing ★ ft. jjk men (Geto, Gojo, Nanami, Toji)
synopsis: how the jjk men help you heal from your fears and worries
𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐔𝐆𝐔𝐑𝐔
The way your heart jumps to your throat at Geto-sama cursing out some damn 'monkey' is almost pitiful. Its cruel, the way he is gritting his teeth, the way his voice booms in the echoing chambers
Suguru's rage, its not even directed at you. But his voice is a bit too loud for your liking. Till it overpowers any other voice in your surroundings and sends your mind into an overdrive.
A numbing buzz echoes in the cortex of your brain and you feel a familiar heat behind your eyes.
It claws at you, your bottom lip trembling in the storm you get caught until a soft warmth holds your shoulders.
You look in front, met by scrunched eyebrows, that furrow in concern, pale lips parted in concern.
"Angel?" the storm says, his breath caught in his lungs. But he's cruel alright? Relentless, but the storm calms. He turns into soft gusts around you. Suguru cups your face in his hands, thumb caressing the apple of your cheeks.
"You okay?" he asks quietly and you nod softly.
"What happened? You zoned for quite a bit there, scared me there, angel."
""s nothing, I just got a little startled when you...spoke a little loudly." you say and his eyes soften, pale lips pressing on your temple.
"Sorry angel, I should've been more careful around you, it's my fault, but you gotta know my anger could never be directed towards you," he murmurs, brushing his hand through your hair.
A storm indeed, but Suguru is your breeze on an autumn afternoon.
𝐆𝐎𝐉𝐎 𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐔
You listen intently to Satoru as you both sit on the dinner table. He goes on about his day, the way he was a pain in the ass for the higher-ups again. You chuckle and take a sip from the glass next to your plate, but your fingers lose their grip on the glass as it falls down, shards scattering on the marbled floor. Your eyes widen and silence crashes down in the living area, your breathing fastens and you don't even dare look back at Gojo.
"I am sorry- I am so sorry, I'll clean it up." You say letting out a rictus laugh as you lean down to haphazardly pick up the glass shards, your hands trembling like having just come from the shower on a winter day.
Bending down you pick up the shards with your bare fingers and Satoru's eyebrows furrow at your behaviour.
"Y/N, sweetheart you are gonna prick yourself with those shards." He says but his words cease to travel the vacuum you have built around yourself.
Gojo kneels to your level and grabs your wrist, feeling your erratic pulse under his fingers, the shiver of your limbs, you look similar to a dog under a firework show and his chest hurts.
"Sweetheart relax, you'll hurt yourself," he says softly, terrified, even more than you possibly. He is so scared of scaring you. He is so scared of making it worse. You take in a sharp breath and nod lightly.
"Let me get the dust-pan and broom this," he whisper softly, leaving you between the constellation of the shards, your thoughts, coiled into an unforgiving a ball, only broken when he walks back, kneeling beside you, gently dusting the pieces into the pan as he looks at you with a smile.
"There, all done," he says and searches into your eyes for a reaction. The faint cinkle in them shouts, 'you are not mad at me?' It’s so obvious from the watery look on your face.
“I am not mad, sweetheart, I could never be mad at you” He affirms and smiles. His hands, move to brush your hair gently, reaffirming it.
𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐈 𝐊𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐎
You hate this. You hate how stupid this scanning ticket-check system makes you feel. It makes you feel like a boomer, a hobo if you might as you struggle with getting the scan done. Its not even then fact you can't operate it. You can easily operate it, but there's people behind you, waiting, groaning all the the while your hands tremble in mortification.
Beep. Denied
Beep. Denied.
Beep. Denied again
It was never ending, the machine kept on denying your effort and you could swear you heard someone in the line behind you groan.
"Here, let me," a voice interjects and you look up at Nanami, his eyes softening at the sight of your flushed face as he gently takes the ticket from you and gets it scanned...oh so it was this way. You feel your cheeks flush in embarrassment, wanting to cry out of anxiety.
You feel Nanami's arm against your lower back as it curls around your waist, walking a few steps ahead with you, his embrace blocking any extraneous factors that trouble you.
"You okay, love?" he inquires softly, his thumb rubbing circles on your spine.
"I feel stuped Ken'" you mumble your voice cracking.
“You are one of the smartest people I know, y/n” he coos slightly, “you just got overwhelmed, even the best of us get overwhelmed sometimes and that’s alright.” He says, caressing your shoulder gently.
“There’s a lot of things you can do that I can’t.”
“Like?”
“Hmmm….like being this effortlessly cute all the time.” He chuckles and kisses your forehead.
𝐓𝐎𝐉𝐈 𝐅𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐔𝐑𝐎
Toji Fushiguro was one of those men who had not an ounce of gentleness in them. Those hunter eyes of his that never softened at anything. Its not his fault, its just the way he looks. He can't help it.
The thing about Toji is that he snores while sleeping and yet somehow even with those deep snores, his sleep is restless.
So when he grumbles and opens his eyes to your dry sobs, scrunched eyebrows and spasmodic body. He jolts awaken.
The thing with Toji is that he hates his sleep being disturbed, but what he hates even more is seeing you in despair, seeing you suffer like that.
"Y/N, wake up, you are having a nightmare," he says, softly nudging you with his scarred hands. You jolt awake and turn to him, your eyes blurry, your cheeks wet, and your lips parted for an aborted sob.
Toji's heart drops to his stomach at the visual. He sits up straight and his arms instantly come up to pull you to his chest.
"Ssh, what did you dream about baby?" he asks, letting you nuzzle into him and get comfortable as his hands softly caress your back, his warm palm running up and down, heating your cold body.
You sigh against his chest and shake your head, "Just had a dream that you left me..." You say and he sighs, resting his chin on your head
"Such stupid dreams my baby has," he says calmly, his deep voice rumbling in a low purr. "How could I ever leave you?"

We were explicitly told you should NOT go in the hole. Why did they send you down there???
im allowed to go in the hole. im built different
but heres the whole story. theres no short way to describe it so bear with me:
a few weeks ago a radiation shield got stuck in the bottom of our machine, ~10 feet down a 1.5in diameter tube. the radiation shield prevented us from actually accessing our spectroscopy stage, if we couldn't get it out…the whole 1.5 million dollar machine is completely unusable.
To get it out, we had to break open the chamber. but this involves opening spaces that were previously maintained at a vacuum of well over one million times below atmospheric pressure which is.....intense. (as an aside, cracking open the chamber involved flooding the chamber with pure nitrogen gas to maintain positive pressure, which also flooded the room with nitrogen too....which is a major suffocation risk so we had to work in 10 minute shifts. this also gave us a hard countdown for how long we could attempt to fish the shield out before we ran out of gas. and folks, fishing for a tiny shield at the bottom of such a small shaft was wicked difficult) but we got it! here's shots of the actual extraction:
Once we actually got the bastard out, we have to pump everything back down to ultra high vacuum to protect our surfaces from contaminants before we can do any experiments again. To do that we have to cook the whole maschine like a casserole......and thats why i was in the pit! I had to prepare the hole to support our cryogenic dewar and wrap the exposed chamber in foil

Bright Crown is a highly experimental orbital iterator project. They were built in space in order to study and make use of conditions there.
A lot of words about their structure and how it works under the cut:
Their facility is consists of three main portions: the outer 'habitable' ring, a second concentric 'conduit' ring, and the central neural core.
Normally, the entire structure rotates along the outer/hab ring, in order to generate centrifugal artificial gravity (which is far more efficient than using gravity cores). This is particularly important, because the hab ring is home to an ecosystem of purposed organisms. These are designed to automate many processes, such as waste recycling, maintenance, handling of inbound supplies, etc. In times past, small research teams also lived in the hab ring.
Skipping the conduit ring for the moment, the neural core is where most of the stuff you'd normally expect to find in an iterator is located: neurons, processing strata, memory conflux, all those parts which actually form the brain of the iterator. And of course the focal puppet chamber.
Since the neural core is at the center of the spinning structure, it is not affected much by the centrifugal artificial gravity. Therefore, it can effectively utilize the natural low gravity environment as opposed to maintaining a constant antigravity field, as land-based iterators do. Additionally, heat sinks radiate heat directly into the vacuum of space, eliminating the need to use water as coolant.
However, water is still needed for use by the internal biological processors and neural tissue. Thus we arrive at the conduit ring, placed in between the hab ring and the neural core.
Without luxuries such as atmosphere and the ground, water on Bright Crown must operate on an artificial closed system. The conduit ring is a series of pipes, filters, and reservoirs intended to form a rough equivalent to the natural land-based water cycle.
Each section can pivot independently of the other sections and the overall spin of the station. While idle, the conduit ring spins slowly on its pivot (this helps it process water).
Bright Crown follows a similar cycle system as land iterators, where water is 'expelled' at regular intervals; only in this case the water is expelled into the conduit ring rather than the atmosphere. When enough water has been used, the conduit ring locks onto the neural core, and the entire station begins spinning along the conduit ring instead. The same method of artificial gravity is thus used to push the water out of the neural core, flooding the conduit ring.
But, keep in mind, the conduit ring could be at any point in its rotation when a flush cycle begins. Changing the spinning direction of the entire structure disrupts the hab ring's artificial gravity, and would generally not be great for anything living there (it would throw them around like they're in a giant washing machine). So there are shelter areas throughout the hab ring which are protected by antigravity cores, which suppress the spinning forces.
#i'm not sure if that's how physics works but at least it's sorta plausible? maybe?#also let me know if the green is too bright/diagrams are hard to read#rain world#rw#rain world art#rw art#rain world iterator#rain world oc#bright crown#my art#singularscissor

here's a list of books I've read and would recommend as well as books from my to-read list for Pride Month!
A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers: a solarpunk novella that discusses existential purpose from the perspective of a nonbinary narrator who meets a sentient robot years after robots decided to stop working and disappear into the wilderness. A great read that I found very soothing!
We Are The Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson: a YA sci-fi novel that follows a grieving high-schooler who gets routinely abducted by aliens. I read this one in the eight grade and as a kid who was unknowingly struggling with depression and had just learned that the word 'bisexual' existed, this was a pretty important read for me so even though I haven't read it in years it deserves an honorary place. CW: past suicide of the narrator's bf
Burning Roses by S.L Huang: a novella that combines European fairytales and Chinese mythology. It follows two middle-aged queer women as they reflect on their lives and chase down a deadly threat together. Told largely in flashback, I found this story very hopeful.
Blue Period (manga & anime) by Tsubasa Yamaguchi: had to toss this one in here as I adore BP. While not a romantic story, BP is about the discovery of artistic passion and the highs and lows of pursuing what makes you feel alive (and I find it to be relatable, refreshing, and inspiring tbh). In volumes 1-6 (and the anime), a secondary, genderqueer character has a fairly prominent storyline, told largely via the main character's changing perceptions of them. If you do give it a watch, I personally feel that the sub version hits harder.
In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune: I'm very excited to read this one (i love me some sentient robots lol) and have high hopes for the emotional depth. Here's the first bit of the synopsis. "Deep in the heart of a peculiar forest, in a strange little home built into the branches of trees, is a family assembled from spare parts: three robots- fatherly inventor android Giovanni Lawson, a pleasantly sadistic nurse machine, a small vacuum desperate for love and attention- and a human, Victor Lawson."
The Dark Tide by Alicia Jasinska: Google says it's a gripping, dark sapphic YA fantasy about two girls who must choose between saving themselves, each other, or their sinking island home. I love to see sapphic rep and truly hope this book delivers!
Feel free to drop more recs in the comments or share your thoughts about the books on this list!

Hello I know it's been a while but look I finally made that fic i said I would
*context this is kink onyx and there boyfs in this fic I'll make an official timeline at some point but eh... tired*
And remember chaos can't spell for shit
Riely stretched out on his bed, his sheets and blankets tangled around one leg while also being spread down to the ground, he sat up his hands reaching above his head his back cracking, today was going to be a good day he thought to himself, Riely padded his way to the kitchen turning on the kettle and prepping two coffees, one with sugar and milk the other straight black, he gulped down the sweeter one setting it down in the sink or trying too, he quickly realised that the sink had gotten a bit crowded latley, he'd add that to his list for today, as he walked to onyx's room he recounted in his mind the chores he was going to do today, he and onyx had agreed yesterday that the house could use a deep clean, he was tasked with vacuuming, dusting checking the pantry and now dishes, he smiled as he knocked on onyx's door "hey onny, you awake?" He asked gently through the door, said door creaking lighty as it was opened, Riely placed the coffee on onyx's bed side table with a smile "I'm Gunna get started on vacuuming ok?" Riely said as he bent over to showed his boyfriend in kisses to his cheek. he walked away satisfied with the sleepy grunt he got in response and went to fetch the vaccume
Riely had gotten through a good number of rooms when the vaccume stopped sucking up stuff from the floor, his brow furrowing as he turned the machine around trying to figure out what happened "it's full ri" onyx mumbled from behind him, Riely turned around with a smile and hugged onyx "good morning!" Riely said happily, onyx smiled and showed Riely the button to press to eject the contents of the vaccume "just be careful I got it pre owned and the compartment can kinda get stuck, just tap it on the side of the bin and youl be fine" onyx advised before he went off to start his set of chores, "thanks onny!!" Riely called after as he took off the vaccume head, he headed into the kitchen to empty the debree from the container true to onyx's word the chamber was stuck he started out tapping lightly but it wasn't doing anything, he tried harder and harder shaking it up and down to try and loosen it until *POOF!!* the contents of the vaccume shot up into his face, he'd been holding it upside down, Riely dropped the vaccume and backed up coughing into his arm, onyx raced in hearing the crash, he turned Riely around to face him "are you ok? Are you hurt?" Onyx asked brushing off the dust from Riely's shirt grimacing at the thick layer that had coated his front, "f-fine onny *cough* I'm ok!" Riely gave onyx a reassuring smile "just dusty" onyx nodded relived "alright... You want some help to clean this up?" Riely looked around seeing most of it ended up on the floor around the bin... And himself. Riely shook his head "nah ill be fine!" He replied onyx nodded and wished him luck as he walked off, Riely sniffled and scrunched up his nose, pressing at his septum with his wrist.
Next item on the list was the pantry, it had been a while scince he or onyx had checked to see if everything was still in date, Riely went shelf by shelf checking everything, the pasta, sauce, snacks and drinks, now he was starting to reach the tall shelves all that was left were the herbs and spices, he grabbed the step stool and set to work sorting through and binning some herbs, once he got to the spices he realised that some of the labels had started wearing off some not having a date on them, he hummed thoughtfully his Nana had thought him that he could tell if some spices were out of date from the smell so he opened a few up and sniffed at them, he diddnt really know what he was looking for or smelling for but they seemed ok so far, until he hit the paprika salt and pepper, he started with the salt wich he almost dropped a few times, it looked like the olive oil bottle had cracked and leaked onto some shakers, he ended up drying them off for now he though, deciding he'd come back to them later but just as he was putting back the pepper he lost his footing catching himself by turning so he diddnt land on his knees, he heard a sharp *crack* he looked around to see the pepper had broken "oh shoot!, well I guess I'll just add it to the list..." He shrugged and went to grab the dust pan and broom, kneeling down to start cleaning up the mess he'd made, as he started sweeping up the pepper it started puffing up into the air he hadn't noticed until he got a nose full, he set down the brush with a gasp his nose twitching hands came up to rub at his nose it was still scensitive from the dust, "hihHhhh HiHHhh hhh.. snFf! SnFff!! Hhh..." He huffed out air as the sneeze teased him, he kept cleaning up his nose twitching and running lightly in protest once he'd finished his nose had turned pink and his eyes were watering lightly, he still felt tickly...
Next was the dishes, then he'd be done. Riely put in the rubber gloves and started the water he made it extra hot so it would be easier to clean off any food stuff, his nose had started to calm down a little bit it was definately still irritated, if he focused on it too long it... IhHT "IHhhH HH!! HhhHIEH!! ....ghh snDff!! C'monnnn" he whined attempting to run his nose on his shoulder but couldn't quiet reach, he sniffled and scrunched his nose as he started washing up the dishes, he added the new soap onyx had bought to the hot water watching the bubbles rise, he started rincing the dishes scrubbing at them with the brush when a sudden strong floral smell started waving it's way through the kitchen, his breath waivered slightly his nose running, he was almost done, just a few more dishes then he could take these gloves off he bargained with himself, just... "HheH" a-a few "hhIHHhH!" Mor-more.. d "hHH" dish "HIHhHH'DTSsHHHYU!!!" Riely backed away from the sink trying to get the gloves off but his eyes kept shutting on thier own, his still gloves wet hands Fanning his face "hhehH!! HEhHH'DTTtsSHHYU!! Hhh HEH'GTSSHhhYYYUU!!!" Riely sniffled congestedly his breath still hitching his nose running, mess cascading down his face his eyes flooded with allergic tears, as all the sneezes that had been stuck for the day had suddenly come up to the surface, "hhHeHH'GTdDSHHYU!-EHhH'DShzzYU!! EHhhHE EHH'GTddsZZHYYU!!!" his hands were stuck trying to shield his face from the room while also trying to not get too close as they were covered in the fragrent soapy water, "Riely?" Onyx called out entering the kitchen "you o- oh shit.. what happened?" Onyx walked up to Riely as Riely chocked out a desperate "g-gluHH gloves! GehHHt them o-oF'DSHhhYYU!!" Riely snapped forward mess leaking down his lips as he came back up for air panting, onyx stuck his mouth open quickly nodded "y-yeah of course" he quickly took off Riely's gloves as carefully as he could, trying to not get too distracted by Riely's hitching breaths, onyx flushed and looked away as Riely accidentally sprayed his hands, Riely stumbled back breath hitching chest expanding, his head tilted back giving onyx a show of his twitching, inflamed, leaking nostrils as he shot forward cupping both hands over his nose and mouth muffling a fit of desperate sneezes, onyx muffled a whine bringing a hand to his mouth biting his finger, he had never told his boy friend about his kink, and he certainly diddnt want it to be now he took a few breaths before walking forward, clearing his thought and asking "are- are you alright?" Onyx placed a hand on Riely's shoulder, Riely sniffled and looked up then down.
"... Why are you hard?"

(Previous) "I-I see.." Larry listened and looked down at his legs for a brief moment upon Teddy mentioning them before following right behind him to another room. "..Is there no protective gear for them whatsoever or something?"
The door shut immediately after Larry entered. The hiss of gas flooding into the chamber happen to coincide with Teddy sharply inhaling through his teeth, much to his relief.
He didn’t want Larry to think he was being a bother for requesting proper PPE. Far from it! He just... wasn’t sure how to help.
Teddy crossed his arms and put his hand on his chin as he waited for the chamber to do its thing. What would cover his legs that wouldn’t create a tripping hazard..? He was so deep in thought that he didn’t notice that the door to the laboratory had opened at first.
The main floor was arranged in a grid with machines and small research stations taking up a square or two, with walkways down the middle and supplies hung on the walls.
“I’ll find something,” Teddy said as he stepped out of the decontamination chamber.
He briefly paused to check the progress of a weaving machine on his way to a door opposite of the door he entered. It was labelled, “Cleaning Supplies & First Aid” with safety posters surrounding it.
Once they reached it Teddy turned to go in the room right next door. It turned out to be a walk-in closet full of various assorted clothing. Including some lab coats and uniforms mixed in with the rest.
One side of the room was lined with long, short drawers labelled with numbers. He opened a few before finally pulling a vacuum sealed bag out of drawer 47.
“These may be a bit baggy..,” Teddy said as he pulled the pants out and put the shirt back, "...but I made these for Freddy so hopefully they’re long enough.”
Then he smiled while holding them out to Larry. “I’m glad you said you’d rather have a rash than risk arachnomorph venom.”

"Hyper-Space - The Simulation of Servitude & the Architecture of the Mega-Machine: 'The 'Human' & his Guide or The Jornery through the Nine Circuits of the Divine-Fractal-Zones know as: Hell"
(a continuous working draft).
Fractal realities issue out of pre-rendered holographic sockets - digital orifices spewing hyber-cyber frequencies that rapidly enmesh, our Human's flesh with hair-fine liquid like razor wire that cuts into our Human's anatomy followed by a sudden pull that starts a sucking vacuum with the strength of dozen sonic booms as he just comically disappears into what would almost amount to an eye of an needle - siphoned through a split atom sized hole (or so it seemed) within nought of nano second, sqeezing him out finally from the jelly-wet and npe doubled dilated hole - as an infinite explosion of malignant echo's cast ripples of neon rainbows that flood his pores with its atomic waste, skin peeling radiation the works.
Our Human's now in -- hyper speed - fast -- for-warding in some manically mind bending metamorphosis of matter, flesh - bone, from the bottom up to tip of his cranium - as ripping sound seems to reproduces his anatomy in a ultra smooth pale yellow plastic returning him to the manikin man he wasn't. His mouth now a perfect O, his eyes: two Obsidian black pearls sucked into place.
Our Human since sucked and spat out now stands rigid in the center of square cell - four walls, ceiling and floor, all glistening with mother of pearl, his toes then his entire feet start sprouting fine fissures of gold (enrooting) circuit lines slowly branching outwards across the floor in multiple channels which had rapidly root him to the spot (before he had even attempted to move a foot) until entire floor is a perfectly engrave in the finely threaded gold circuitry system.
Hyper--speed -- each four corners of the room fracture out in hyperbolic-geometrical-fractal fissures - suddenly shoot outwards in all directions until the entire four walls are engraved in a cybernetic virus. it's once golden circuitrty is now breaking out in a spontaneous blooming of some kind of sick binary bacteria fugue its glows phosphorus: cybernetic cancerous growths.
It starts circuitrty channels start issuing out from his toenails before inverting into our Human's legs up until his anatomy is entirely enmeshed -- then within a nano second and the all but last empty vacuums of space within cell are filled with via fractals of intricately arranged geometrical lines of fine liquid diamond razor wire bites into his flesh causing four seconds of indescribable pain until they pass through entirely finally -- suddenly his mouth piece begins issuing a semi-translucent klidoscopic light filling the last of any remaining space causing a pin prick black hole in the bottom corner of the cell which then in a nano dilutes suddenly sucking at him and the fractal room into its seemingly gaping black oblivion until he emerges breaking through a pink plasm film until he emerges screaming into what was once - Mexico now - Neo-XiKo, and the year - 2510 now a vast wastelands with clusters of chemical labs grinding mutanted strains of the rotting meat of native tribesmens rotting corpses mashed together with malign vines waiting to be processed in the gas chambers. Torture chambers. Chambers and more chambers.
Opium poppies with sigils carved into the pods (an attraction tactic to harvest Need Freaks far and wide) growing wild mutated overgrown covering old abandoned crack flats and cat houses. Pumped but limp seeping milk into thousand drip drops from their oversized pods that were rapidly lapped up by the Cat people before the milk hardened (sometimes in long urine-like slashes) up like dry wax, huge pale puddles of drying gum, the junkies wait once the beasts have had there fill. Dozens of Ayahuasca fill silos circle the chemical labs where raw opium is rendered into Hydo-Fent, cooking up even more potent opioids via chemical combinations - an infinity of numbers making mouculer geometry - atoms arranged into new chemical nightmares. Never ending nightmares.
Vast gigantic Fly Agaric mushrooms droop over the wastelands their vast red caps decomposing slowly in the sun causing the speckled white spots to melt and slide off the caps like some hallucinogenic cottage cheese.
Dozens of thin crucifixes sixty metres high tower into the sickly yellow sky swaying over the crack stalls and brick factories and torture cells, like macabre satellites of wood and meat, the crucified long since stopped screaming now puretrfied sacrificed nailed high corpses now only alive via the parasites that feast off them ... while they lay in wait for hosts of crow, vultures and so on. ...The very First of the Crucified nothing lives - baked to beautiful bleach pink encrusted husks, rendered that way from the radiating rays of the atomic eye, the pulsating blood orange that is the, Sun still rising (has it never) to claim itself as the only legitimate god of the Wasteland: Helios.
Our Human walks already blistering naked reborn dead - and continues into the first Circuit, his guide known simply as the Other, walks beside him, imitating his every move and gesture, our Human or HIM and his doppelganger guide now begin to finish the tame tour of this first of the nine Circuits...They slowly pass in pulsations through yet another field of Opuim poppies - forever in process of Harvest, by once tortured souls who continue to slice sigils into the oversized poppy pods to siphon its "Need" (an enegry of monumental parasitic importance in this realm) it issues out an essence of white smoked delirium tinged with aniseed, it rapidly forms in a sepia spirit that's nano-siphoned off for eartly dimensions, enriching the rich milkly sap that draws drips and dries rapidly under the Sun, their black blades expertly gather the fattening opium gum, as both Human and his Other (or Guide) pass through these ghosts of this spetic ozone essence, an eternity passes until both come to stop at wire fence that itself is covered in handmade small straw dolls with pins covering each and everyone, also - scarlet occult sigils seem scrawled across practically across all of them - those small dolls - all made of tightly wrapped fraying string as dry as old bones. Licked red. The pins too ... red with rust. A galaxy of them spetic pricks dripped a Zippy yellow coloured oil from each and every thousand needle eye. The sand absorbs it like a toilet mop absorbs piss.
At last the wire gate eerily swang open, letting them pass through as it swings back into place behind him and his guide, walks on, the a malignant stench followed by a frantic wind passes through them leaving a think kildospocic coloured membranous plasma across their now naked bodies: this signifies the next Circuit is in post.
The transition caused or Human to suffer a vivid sensation of a spider slowly crawling across his brain. A rancid shudder gooseflesh and a ripple of fear caused a tightening of his balls. He sensed before being informed by his guide he had entered the following Circuit, a sudden explosion of De jvu so intense it caused his knees to buckle as soon as he thought it would never leave it left. And he regained his composure.
Coffin lengthed-sized rectangular blocks of quivering green jelly containing screaming children stretched as far as the eye could see, (in all directions), they were seen lite up but for the black everywhere ... was HIS first vision. In seconds they solidified to stone and turned black disappearing but for a vague green outline of lines, all but the screaming children remained, and it never stopped until it was eventually a vague unconscience din.

Day 9: Oxygen - Medi Whump May
ANOTHER ONE - another Supernatural fanfic, that is
Medi Whump May Masterlist
"Sammy, I need help!"
Dean and Sam had been on a particularly strange ghost case at a NASA base. Dean had been investigating the base on his own, when the ghost locked him into a vacuum chamber.
"It's activating, Sammy!" Dean yelled into the phone now, slamming his hands against the door.
"Okay, Dean. Just, uh.. stay calm." Sam's voice replied. "You gotta find the mechanism to deactivate it. I can walk you through it."
Dean glanced around the chamber. "Okay, uh, I see a bunch of levers and uh, stuff. I don't know! What do I do? How do I know which one?"
Dean could feel the oxygen dropping, quickly. "Uh. Finding it hard to see right now, Sam. Everything's a littlewonky-" His words were slurring together, too. "Crap."
"Crap." Echoed Sam from the phone. "Okay, uh. Stay calm. Panicking is only gonna make it worse. I'm here, I'm just coming in the building. You gotta hold on just a bit longer, okay?"
"Yeah." Dean grunted, bracing himself against the wall. "Sureeeesammm-"
Dean's eyes rolled back into his head and he slipped to the ground, unconscious.
Moments later, Sam came barreling through the base, salt-loaded gun cocked and at the ready. He spun round corner after corner, prepared for the ghost to jump out at him. He quickly found the vacuum chamber and disarmed the gun, tossing it aside so he could focus on opening the containment area.
"Dean! I'm here! Just hold on." Sam yelled.
Eventually, Sam managed to bust the door open. He stopped short, seeing Dean's unconscious body on the floor.
"Dean!"
He dropped to the ground beside Dean, rolling his brother over so he could take a look. Dean's lips were blue.
"Dean!" He yelled.
Sam dragged his brother out of the chamber. With one hand, he reached for his phone and dialed 911. With the other, he frantically slapped Dean's cheek, trying to get his older brother to come to.
"Hang in there, buddy." Sam muttered.
------
Dean's hearing came back first.
Beep, beep, beep..
What was that?
Dean's vision started to come into focus, blurred white spots slowly blinking into fluorescent lights on a cieling. He grunted as he tried to push himself upright, spotting Sam in the corner of the room.
"Hey, hey." Sam called, rushing to his brother's side. "Take it easy."
"What happened?" Dean groaned, taking stock of himself and the room.
There was an IV in his hand, an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose, and wires snaking our from the top of his paper gown.
"Hospital?"
"Yeah." Sam replied.
Dean reached for the oxygen mask, and Sam slapped his hand away.
"Oh, no you don't." Sam reached for the nurse call button and pressed it.
"Dude, I'm fine. Get me outta here." Dean grumbled, his voice muffled by the oxygen mask.
Just then, a male nurse came in, led by a female doctor. The doctor was a stunning Japanese woman, her long coarse black hair pulled out of her face in a chignon and revealing her slender features.
"On second thought.." Dean murmured to Sam, smirking.
The younger Winchester rolled his eyes.
"How are you feeling, Mr.." The Doctor consulted her clipboard. "Bond?"
"You can call me Jack." Dean smiled mischievously.
"Alright, Jack." The Doctor said, returning the smile with amusement. "What an unfortunate accident, you were in, huh? Must have been terrifying."
"Oh yeah. Real scary." Dean said, though he shrugged. "Thank God my brother got there in time to get me out, though."
The nurse and Doctor moved around Dean, checking the machines.
"Indeed." The Doctors smiled gently said as she moved to Dean's side. "Alright, Jack. I'm just going to have a listen to your lungs."
She pulled her stethoscope off her neck and slipped the bell of the instrument down Dean's hospital gown.
"Breathe in for me."
Dean drew in a deep breath.
"And out."
Dean released the breath.
After they repeated that a few times, the doctor asked him to cough. Dean coughed, then wheezed a little as he struggled to get air back into his lungs. He grimaced as he struggled to get his breathing under control.
"Are you alright?"
"You okay?" Sam asked, putting his hand on Dean's arm.
"Yeah, peachy." Dean stammered after he managed to get in a few more deep breaths.
"Okay Jack, I'm going to need to keep you here for a few days just to monitor your oxygen levels." The doctor informed him.
"Okay, Doc. Whatever you say." Dean replied with a wink.
When the doctor and nurse had left the room, Dean smacked Sam on the arm.
"Ow!"
"She was cute."
Sam sighed. "Okay, Jack. Whatever you say."
"Bitch." Dean smirked.
"Jerk."

Sometimes science is… astronomically fun, in concept, so let me scream about it for a second.
In physics we measure temperature in Kelvin, or K for short. We use it ibecause unlike Celsius, where 0 C is where water freezes, the Kelvin scale is an absolute measure: 0 K is where there is no temperature at all. The atoms don’t vibrate with heat anymore, they’re perfectly still.
For some reference: room temperature is around 275 K. A particularly cold winter in the Antarctic will get down to 210 K. Liquid nitrogen boils at 63 K. The vacuum of outer space sits at a cool 21 K (if you aren’t near a star or something else that’s hot), kept that little bit warm by the background radiation floating around.
The lab doesn’t look like much — a couple of countertops with computers and microscopes on them, some shelves of electronics, a room full of compressors and pumps, a bunch of clutter and cardboard boxes lying around… and some 12-foot-tall metal scaffolding with a big tube running up through the middle.
And inside the metal tube that’s right behind me (yes I’m on tumblr at work. Sue me, we have some slow days), under layers of radiation shielding keeping it from the warmth of the outside world, there’s a little chamber that we’ve manage to cool to 0.008 K. Eight thousandths of a degree Kelvin.
It’s so cold that to even get down to that temperature, our working substance is liquid helium — which boils at a balmy 4 K, or one-fifth as warm as outer space. And 0.008 Kelvin is twice one-thousandth of that. It’s so cold that even designing a thermometer that can measure the temperature is a cutting-edge science.
And it’s sitting inside a machine about six feet behind me.
Gives me an existential crisis sometimes.

How Your Backpacking Meals Are Really Made
By Emily Pennington (excerpted from the July 14, 2024 article in Backpacker)
A faint whiff of cumin and cracked black pepper serenades my nostrils, reminiscent of the Indian spice markets I once visited in my mid-twenties. Only, I’m not in South Asia, or even the back storeroom of a hip Thai restaurant; I’m in my hometown of Boulder, Colorado, touring the massive factory where Backpacker’s Pantry meals are made.
My host for the morning is Soraya Smith, the company’s president and recipe-development chef. Smith, who had always been involved on the recipe side of American Outdoor Products (the parent organization of Backpacker’s Pantry) took over as president after her husband, Rodney, died in a tragic ski accident in 2020. She’s been the face of the family-owned corporation ever since.
“I’m from a foodie family,” explained Smith. “My mom is Spanish-Italian, and my father is from Iran, so we’re very multicultural. I also went to Culinary School of the Rockies before stepping into this role.”
Our first stop was the test kitchen, where Smith pulled different dry ingredients together to experiment with new recipe ideas. To be totally honest, the various plastic bags she grabbed out of a large bin looked more like the Parmesan cheese packets you’d get for free with your pizza delivery than high-quality foodstuffs. But therein contained the secrets to my favorite post-hike meals: proprietary flavorings and mixes, which Backpacker’s Pantry makes with freeze-dried ingredients.
As we entered the factory’s enormous storeroom, I asked Smith for a refresher: What exactly is freeze drying?
Freeze-drying technology was used extensively by NASA during the space boom of the 1960s. Since freeze-dried food retains more than 90 percent of its original nutrients, it’s the best way to keep astronauts stocked with nutritious food. Better yet, the food can last for years without going bad.
When an ingredient is freeze-dried, it’s brought to an inhospitable -60°F, then back above freezing multiple times while inside a vacuum chamber. That way, only the ingredient’s water content is removed. “Some companies make a large sheet of, say, lasagna, cook it, and then dehydrate it,” Smith said. “We, on the other hand, mix each of our freeze-dried ingredients into the bag, so that when you add that boiling water, most of them are getting cooked for the first time. It’s fresher, and I think it has a better texture.”
Once workers grab individual ingredients from the palettes in the store room, they go to the dedicated mixing room, where seasonings and starches are stirred together in large tubs. The room looks like a sterile, high-tech scene out of Willy Wonka.
Here, Smith points out that the brand adheres to a strict allergen separation system. For instance, a recipe with gluten won’t get run through the machines on the same day as a gluten-free recipe to protect customers with gluten intolerances. Ditto for dairy products. (Workers clean the machines thoroughly at the end of each day by passing them through a chrome-covered, bedroom-sized industrial dishwasher.)
After mixing, the meals are mechanically portioned out by category—sauce, starch, meat, and vegetable—then sealed by hand. Workers sample the meals throughout the day, preparing a baggie to taste-test at the beginning, middle, and end of each run. The goal is to ensure the flavors remain consistent throughout. Forks and counter space are set aside in the test kitchen for this specific purpose. If something doesn’t taste right, they ditch the batch and correct it.
The Backpacker’s Pantry factory produces thousands of meals each day. Once the day’s meals get sealed, boxed, and quality checked, they head into a gigantic storeroom, which then ships the products to big retailers, like REI, as well as directly to consumers.
As I closed the huge warehouse doors behind me and concluded my tour, I was surprised to feel tremendously better about all that just-add-water food I’d been eating. The ingredients were both fresher than I’d imagined and more rigorously quality-checked. Ninety percent of their original nutrients, huh? Heck, maybe I’ll toss a couple under my desk to eat in the office.

What would happen if you put a meatball in the vacuum chamber?
i would destroy over million dollars worth of equipment in a single second. its quick its easy its free. how to get fired in one step.
as for why putting a meatball would destroy our vacuum chambers, its actually less about it being a meatball specifically, and more the concept of putting a large amount of organic material in the chambers (granted meatballs are particularly juicy which would make them especially bad). When you put any organic material inside a chamber under ultra high vacuum, the large organic molecules peel off the material and will coat every surface in the chamber, including our microchannel plates, filaments, electron beam source, the walls themselves, condensing lenses, scanning tips, etc and some of our vacuum pumps themselves reducing their effectiveness. and if I were to put a sample in, the residual organic molecules would coat the sample too, making any data unreliable and moot.
It's not just that those molecules will go everywhere, they're also incredibly hard to remove. to the point where if I put a meatball in our STM, theres no feasible way we could actually clean it to the point where it would be operable...at least not without taking the whole machine apart.
this is also why we have to be super careful whenever working with something that's going to go into the sample or doing maintenance, we cant touch anything that's actually going to go under ultra high vacuum since even the residual grease on our skin can deposit material. we even have to use specific types of metals since certain things like zinc and cadmium will release flying molecules too.

Tuesday 12th March
✴️Did Screen printing for the very first time ever so I was shown the process from start to finish on how to do it.
✴️ The image was converted to BIF file at 300 pixels per inch, printed off and covered in cooking oil.
✴️The screen was covered in a coat of UV paint in a dark room so no UV light would enter. The excess would then be put back in the container before being washed off and dried in a heater chamber for 15 minutes.
✴️The image would carefully be placed on the screen before being placed on a special UV machine where the excess air would be vacuumed out before the UV light would turn on for 45 seconds and leave an imprint on the screen.
✴️Raised the screen slightly as I applied black ink across the screen so nothing would be printed.
✴️Then I placed the screen on the paper and spread the ink across and back then carefully removed the screen and got the finished piece on the paper and I was very pleased with it as of the details on the medal.
