demon brothers + dateables as destinations in the human world
✎ a/n: these are my opinions! i'm south and west asian, so i am most knowlegeable about those countries, please correct me if i've said anything incorrect!
LUCIFER
new york city, usa. he likes the cold, industrial corporate feel of nyc. it helps him avoid his feelings.
anywhere in germany. he likes their no-nonsense culture and unspoken social rules.
MAMMON
las vegas, nevada, usa. he always begs mc to take him there. the flashy lights and casinos are right up his alley.
dubai, uae. he loves the luxurious feel of it, and how its the center of celebrity gatherings, vacations, and parties.
LEVIATHAN
tokyo, japan (especially the akihabara/electronic district). he's always updated on pop culture and the newest technology/games.
seychelles island, africa. he likes swimming, but not socializing on the beach. that's why he likes isolated islands.
SATAN
london, england. he's interested in their medival history and seeing the places that inspired novels like harry potter and the sherlock holmes franchise.
cat island in japan, or any mediterranean country where cats freely roam.
ASMODEUS
paris, france. he'd love paris fashion week. he also just seems french to me, idk.
seoul, south korea. he'd adore seoul's culture, everything from the modern sappy kdramas to traditional dresses, like hanbok. he would bring an empty suitcase to stuff it with beauty products.
BEELZEBUB
mumbai, india. this metropolitan city in india offers so many different kinds of food. he would love to eat his way through the city, if not the entire country.
every city in mexico. he'd try the regional cuisine, but also hang out at the beach with his brothers and mc (so cute).
BELPHEGOR
cairo, egypt. he was once fascinated with humans, and often watched them build civilizations from heaven when he was an angel. he would enjoy the historical wonders of egypt.
reykjavic, iceland. idk why he just gives me iceland vibes. life there can be slow and cold, and it often gets less light than other countries.
DIAVOLO
transylvania, romania. he loves its breathtaking castles and culture, and is intrigued with all the pop culture references of vampires.
petra, jordan. this is a significant place in abrahamic religions, known for being haunted by demons, or jinn. diavolo would be fascinated by this history, whether its actually haunted or not. i know he'd eat up those scary ghost tours (insert fic about that here) and even probably try and scare a few tourist groups, despite barbatos advising him against it.
BARBATOS
istanbul, turkiye. istanbul has well-maintained structures from the byzantine empire, the ottoman empire, and even "newer and hip" neighborhoods. barbatos, being able to see the past and future, would appreciate the blend of it all here, like he's walking through time.
kathmandu, nepal. he'd enjoy the peace of monasteries and mountains, which are as old as the earth itself.
SIMEON
tuscany, italy. he'd enjoy the vast fields, heavenly sunsets, small towns and historic churches. he would find tuscany a peaceful place to write, but appreciates the community feel of small italian towns. would definitely be so friendly he'd get invited to eat dinner at a random family's house.
thessaloniki, greece. he would absolutely love seeing all the greek orthodox churches there, with their blue and white colors and dome roofs. he is just amused to see the religious structures humans have created. he'd also probably be interested in greek mythology, even though he's an angel.
LUKE
cape town, south africa. he would be so excited to see penguins at the beach and would enjoy the burst of color south africa offers. he'd also enjoy the modern bakeries and desserts in south africa.
lyon, france. the country is known for desserts. luke would probably take a baking class there to learn how to bake more things.
SOLOMON
salem, or just any small town in massachusetts. as a sorcerer, he's intrigued with their history of "witch hunting" and the paranormal.
lalibela, ethiopia. being old, he's intrigued with how ancient cities like lalibela have changed since biblical times. he also probably enjoys learning about different cultural practices and what they have in common with his sorcery. he also wants to learn how to cook more dishes from different countries, but fails miserably

Chapter Two
Also on Wattpad
Chapter One> < Chapter Three
The rhinestones felt soothing against her skin, as she ran a hand over it. The red dress clinging to her body and tapering down in a gorgeous flair.
“Stop fidgeting Khushi, “ Garima admonished.
“ Mummy, do I really need to be there? I hadn’t even heard of the Raizadas until a week ago!”
“ Your grandfather was a good friend of Veer Raizada, Khushi “, her papa spoke up from beside the driver.
“ And anyway it’s a party. Your friends, Payal and Preetika will also be there!”
Sighing with defeat, Khushi settled down against the plush leather, her heart dreading at the thought of meeting a particular Raizada.
——
The white mansion sparkled in glory from a distance. The flurry of cars surrounding it gave a glimpse of the scale of the party thrown by Anjali Jha nee Raizada to welcome her father and brother back to Lucknow.
Their Benz rolled onto the gravel, and Khushi heard Garima gasp admiringly at the arrangements.
She grudgingly alighted from the car, and placed an arm around her father’s as he led them into the venue.
———
“ Welcome! Welcome Mr Gupta!”
Khushi looked at the man who had become the star politician and the next-in-run to be chief minister at the mere age of forty. Shyam Jha was a charming man, who had worked his way up into high society. And the one who had helped him climb that ladder was none other than his wealthy, well connected and beautiful wife Anjali, who now stood by his side.
“ Garima aunty!” Anjali kissed her mum’s cheek, “What a pleasure to have you home this summer.”
“Well Anjali, we decided to keep Khushi company here in India. She was not willing to give her job a break! Wonderful party by the way”
Khushi rolled her eyes discreetly.
So this was the deal her papa wanted to crack.
Her parents were set on acquiring the contract for building the Raizada group’s latest hospitality venture. And for that they even sacrificed their annual vacation in London!
Shyam’s voice boomed out loud “ Mr Gupta you have met my father in law already, haven’t you? He’s at this party somewhere. Can’t seem to catch hold of him you see?”
And that’s when she became aware of a certain tension between her papa and Mr Jha.
Just then Anjali led her husband away to another guest, and Khushi heard her parents' hushed discussion.
“ He wants one of his corrupt cronies , that Rocky Khandelwal to get the deal Garima “
“ I know Shashi. But we need to be patient here. We have the quality of work and their friendship on our side”
It was the proof of her mother’s stressed state , that she left Khushi unchaperoned at that moment and went off in search of Rajiv Raizada.
Shrugging to herself, she looked around for Payal. Preetika was definitely to be found in some dark, dingy corner romancing some poor lad ,and Khushi had no intention of walking into that.
“Khushi!” Payal’s soft shout made her turn around and found her friend looking rather flustered.
“What’s wrong?”
“Akash has asked me to meet him up at the terrace, “ she explained breathlessly.
“ Not you too! What am I going to do alone in this boring party?”she whined.
“Find a boy! You are old enough!”
And with that Payal rushed off to find the nearest staircase leading up to the terrace.
Hormones, Khushi shook her head.
Grabbing a lemonade from the nearest waiter, she walked around the hall, and soon found herself, out of the French doors and near the pool.
The music was scarce here and so were the people. She settled down on a marble bench beside a tall bush, sipping her drink.
“ASR come on! We had so much fun last time!”
Khushi frowned at the shrill voice.
“How about we go back to my place? Or Tony’s club?”
“ I am not interested Lavanya “
The husky voice startled Khushi, almost tipping her glass over.
She could recognise the voice ,which had haunted her dreams ever since she had heard it.
She froze in place, afraid to move and come into his line of sight.
“But why ASR?! You have been so cold with me since you came back to India. LA was so fun with you! I can never forget that”
Her cheeks flushed as she realised what the woman was referring to.
Mr. Arnav was a classic playboy and had probably got bored of his ‘ flavour of the month’.
“ We both knew what we were getting into, Lavanya. Now please don’t make me regret being kind to you” he said, rage clouding his tone.
She heard footsteps lead away from her and breathed a sigh of relief.
She waited for a few more minutes before leaving her seat.
She walked around the bush, to head back to the hall, when her arm was grasped in a vice grip and she found herself looking up into a pair of eyes, looking dangerously dark against the moonlight.
————
Too shocked to protest, she allowed Arnav to take her wherever he was going.
Everyone was too drunk to even pay attention to the Raizada heir dragging her away anyway.
She found herself on a beautiful balcony, overlooking the vast gardens of the mansion, when Arnav finally left his grip on her arm and settled her down on the swing.
He sat down beside her, leaving her no choice but to look at him.
“Eavesdropping can never lead to good things , you know?”, he said , jolting Khushi out of her silence.
“ I-I was there first! And I did not intend to hear about your escapades with your girlfriend. It was too awkward to get up and leave, that’s why I waited. It was common decency!”
She was more outraged than ever before at this infuriating man.
“She’s not my girlfriend“ he hastened to clarify.
“Oh, forgive me. I don’t know what Casanovas these days call their flavour of the month!”
His eyes flared with anger.
“Flavour of the month? Which 60s movie did you watch?”
Sensing her need to leave,he caught hold of her hand to stop her.
“ Lavanya was an acquaintance. I met her back in the states. And we enjoyed a night together. One night. That’s all. It didn’t mean a thing.”
Khushi huffed in exasperation.
“Who cares?”
“I do” he smiled, “the opinion of my captive matters to me”
Gaping at him, Khushi murmured,“C-captive?”
“Yes. The respectable Guptas wouldn’t want to know that their daughter was drinking whisky and prancing around in a barely there dress, would they?“
Swallowing nervously, Khushi said,“You plan to blackmail me?”
He flicked her nose with a finger, before whispering,
“ I plan to hold you to your promise. Anything, remember?”
Khushi gasped as she realised he planned to make her do his bidding. But she couldn’t deny the thrill which was running through her as Arnav’s hand remained in her hold, his gaze watching her every move, his voice hinting at something beyond what he said.
“Okay. Um..what do you want?”
He smirked.
“I want you to do what I am challenging you to do.”
She frowned , clearly expressing her confusion.
“It is ridiculous that I just get one thing out of such a big secret-“
“But it’s not! It was just one evening of madness…”
“Yes, but think of what Mrs. Gupta would think about that evening of madness?”
Chewing her lip, Khushi thought of her mummy. She will definitely take this as a sign that evenings out with her friends were spoiling her daughter. She couldn’t sacrifice those evenings of dancing she enjoyed so much.
“What do you challenge me to do?” She asked hesitantly.
“A date. Tomorrow night.”
“I-I can’t! I am going out to the club with Payal and Preetika!”
He smiled softly,
“Take me with you then, Khushi Gupta!”
She sat there dazed, as he lifted her fingers to his lips, kissing her knuckles one by one.
His eyes burned with such intensity, it scared and thrilled her in equal measure.

Leon S Kennedy x/+ sibling!reader pt.3
Plot: You're working with him
Tw: Violence, drugs, angst, ...
ps: we really like to break him, huh? Aslo reading the first parts is recommended
Pt 1 - Pt2
If you thought the man was devastated before, you're not ready for this one.
So let's keep most of the scenario of pt2 but switch it up a little.
Leon did attempt that one night but when he saw how devastated you were, he promised he'd never try that again.
So after 1 or 2 more years, you're both out of the academy.
They gave you 10days to get your stuff together before you guys actually start to work.
In that time, you both cuddled, cried a lot, talked, ...
when the end of your "vacation" comes closer he starts to get really anxious again.
He always stays with you. It got so bad that he even waited around in the hallway while you did your stuff in the bathroom.
He'd probably sleep with you or at least in the same room.
Of course, if you guys sleep in the same bed, you put a pillow wall in between the two of you, like homies that are scared to wake up inside one another 😂😭
Anyway...
Picture this:
You're in the hallway leading to the front door, tying up your shoes (these), so it's taking you quite a while since you're making sure everything is tight and secured. Leon was already full dressed which left him time to lecture you on anything he possibly could.
"What's the code if you need backup?" He'd ask. It's the 20th question he asked you since you woke up. He's just making sure you're as safe as you can possibly be.
"huuuuh... 11-99...?" you'd say a bit hesitant. Of course you knew it but he was making you a bit nervous with all the questions.
"You shouldn't be hesitating at all ___." He'd say, a bit surprised and slightly angry.
"I know it, okay?! You're just asking too many questions."
"Shooting?" He'd asks you whole looking you straight in the eye.
"10-71." You'd answer while starting to get upset because he keeps distracting you, and you still haven't toed your laces.
He'd mutter out a little "good."Under his breath before closing his eyes and taking deep breaths.
"Hey Leon. Look at me, please."
He'd do it and wait for you to keep going.
"We'll both be alright, kay? Plus, even if we're not on the same team, we're still in the same company. We'll see each other often, yeah?" You'd say while nodding to emphasise the positive affirmations in your questions.
"Right." He'd say, finally relaxing a little.
"Your turn. What do the letters mean in the phonetic alphabet?" You'd ask just to tease him.
"Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliett, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, Zulu." He'd say immediately without any hesitation.
"Damn, boy. Relax, I was just teasing. " You'd say, clearly surprised. Of course, you knew them too, but you weren't expecting him to let this out almost automatically.
So after a bit more talking, you're both going into the garage to finally go to work.
After fighting a bit to decide who would drive, he won.
The first day was pretty slow, just a few junkies making a scene in the middle of a popular avenue.
You made them leave, and everything was going great until one of them had an outburst and unexpectedly stabbed you with a used needle.
This caused a lot of commotion, and since this was a rookie mistake, everyone knew about this incident. Including Leon.
He picked you up at the hospital after you had tests and an antibiotics shot.
He was so mad. He yelled at you once you both were in the car.
He called you tons of mean words and kept telling you how stupid you were to let that happen.
Of course, he doesn't mean it, but he was so scared this would end badly.
So you guys had a really bad argument that led you to tears.
He never apologised for the thing he said that night.
It led to the both of you slowly drifting apart.
Eventually, you moved in the quarter while he stayed at home.
You'd still see each other but only at formal reunions.
His alcohol problem got pretty bad. He drinks every night after work until he falls asleep.
Hi, sorry if this is a bit rushed, I'll probably edit this later to add more stuff.
Hope you still liked it tho :)
have a good day/night and be safe everyone <33

Fic: First Day
Donna Noble embarks on her first day at UNIT, 10 weeks after we left her at the end of The Giggle.
Donna had opted to use the tube for her first day. Did UNIT Tower have an underground carpark? She made a mental note to ask someone. If she was going to be saving the planet every week, she felt she deserved a commute that didn’t involve standing with her face in someone’s armpit.
Maybe she could have her own personal driver- no, that would be pushing it. She could still barely believe she’d talked her way into a £120k a year job when this time last year she was doing admin on a fixed term contract for a recruitment company which made them all fork out for their own Christmas party. Now she was a permanent employee of an international organisation defending the Earth!
She had taken a while to agree on a start date - first of all her house had been demolished in an alien skirmish, so she felt like she needed to be settled in her new home before embracing her new role as Consultant Advisor under Kate Stewart. She did feel slightly nervous about the responsibility awaiting her, but she had done so much already that surely the only difference was now she was being financially compensated for her efforts. She had been sent a welcome pack in the post, containing her contract for signing and the company handbook that had some old country house emblazoned on the cover. Very National Trust, apart from the almost comical wooden sign reading ‘Ministry of Defence. U.N.I.T. Headquarters. KEEP OUT.’. Clearly they needed to update their marketing materials, now they sit at the top of a swish skyscraper in central London, complete with a helipad, and according to Shirley, the best coffee machine this side of the Milky Way.
The house had been quiet as she left that morning. Shaun was dead to the world after a late night taxi shift, and Sylvia had taken Wilf to visit Minnie. The Doctor, having made himself a resident of her back garden, had recently begun reaching out to old friends, now that he had an address to visit. She was charmed to meet Ace, bemused by the robot dog trundling alongside her, and Tegan made her hoot with laughter when she gave the Doctor a dressing down for saying she used to complain a lot. Jo Jones had embraced her so enthusiastically that she knocked her mother’s favourite vase off a table (thank God, it looked hideous), and she’d been overjoyed to host a raucous wine night when Martha finally found out about her getting her memories back and rushed round with a bag of clinking bottles to make up for lost time.
This morning there was a square patch on the grass which the TARDIS had vacated the previous day, as the Doctor had decided to pay a visit to an elderly couple named Ben and Polly in India, and a time space machine is less hassle than Heathrow. Rose had begged to go too but Donna had reminded her that she had mocks soon, and last time she’d gone on a daytrip with the Doctor she’d missed a week of school as they’d ended up in Ancient Athens, returning with their tails between their legs. As consolation, she let Rose stay overnight with another girl from school to revise for their exams. She was doing her A Levels but was disengaged outside of Art and Design. Maybe UNIT had a work experience program? Not out in the field of course, she didn’t want to encourage that; maybe they needed a new logo designing, or a rethink on their uniforms. She could see Rose sketching out a new look for the troops, the current all black look didn’t compare to the chic red berets she remembered from the ATMOS factory. Although knowing Rose’s taste they’d end up all furry with googly eyes on their helmets and pipe cleaners and pom poms on their chests. Maybe not, then.
Walking through the automatic shining glass doors stamped with the organisation’s insignia, Donna’s stomach threatened to do backflips. She refused to let misplaced imposter syndrome spoil this for her. She’d saved the universe, every universe, for crying out loud. If she could survive being locked in with rabid Ood, sneak through a Sontaran battleship undetected, deduct that a generations-long war had only lasted a week, and outthink the Not-things, she was ready for whatever life working for UNIT could throw at her.
“Hello, darling!”, a voice sang out, and Donna looked across the reception area and saw a familiar mane of red hair. “I came down to meet you!” beamed Mel.
“You’ve not come to let me down gently then?” Donna laughed, still slightly nervous, but the butterflies inside her calming in the presence of her friend.
“Don’t be ridiculous, come on, let's get you set up upstairs.”, Mel said, whisking her briskly to the lifts, waving to the receptionist to let them through the security barriers. “There’s so much to do! We need to get your photo ID pass sorted, your hair looks gorgeous by the way, and - oh you’ve arrived just in time, our Shadow Proclamation liaison is off sick and we’ve had communication last night from the Judoon that they need jurisdiction to arrest a minor royal for trafficking Graskes - complete crisis. Kate’s on it but needs support arranging rendition.”
“Judoon? Space Rhinos, yoyo velcro tesco fomo; we’re already acquainted.” Donna replied as the doors slid open with a soft ‘ding’. “Let me at ‘em”.

Clandestine meetings (part 5)
Part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 6, part 7, part 8
Sherlock x (married) oc!
After two days, Watson was again sat in his chair in the morning, with the newspaper in his hand. Wondering when will the door of Mr detective will open. He's been in his bedroom this whole morning. He went out once just to say he won't be having any breakfast today. He doesn't eat when he's got a case. After saying so he went inside and locked the bedroom door.
After a few minutes some faint footsteps were heard as Watson looked up. To his surprise, it was almost unrecognisable. Holmes was dressed as Mr Scott. The same moustache, same wig, and similar type of coat. And as luck favoured him, they both had similar eye colour.
“My God, Holmes! You look just like the man in the photograph.”
Holmes smirked and stole a glance at himself in the mirror, satisfied with his disguise, “Just stay here and wait. When you receive an empty wire with my name on it, I expect you to make a call to Scotland Yard.”
“Your wish is my command,” said Watson and nodded, staring at his tall figure as he went out of the flat with full enthusiasm.
*
As Holmes hired a cab and got into it he recalled every little detail Devi told him as she smartly, without any doubt made her husband speak of him. Mr Scott, his reputation in the office is of a quite yet joyous man, he talks to everyone with a big smile which Holmes had to work to get Mr Scott right. As he reached Mr Dey's office I sighed and got down from the cab. He stood for a second or two before getting inside. He smiled at everyone who noticed him with a bit confusion in their facial expression. Yet as everyone bid him good morning he also nodded and with a huge grin did the same. As he registered his name in the register a man came to him and asked,
“You were on leave, were you not?”
Holmes stared at him. Trying to deduce if there's any identity he can find of him, and there was, a paper he hold which he was working on as he held the fountain still in his hand, and under that paper was his signature, Mr Crawley. “I never said that I would be gone forever Mr Crawley,” Holmes replied giving him a grin, a forced one yet such, that could convince anyone of him being Mr Scott, “I came early from my vacation so I thought of joining, I'll inform our manager don't worry”.
With a nod, Holmes quickly moved pass Mr Crawley and swiftly went to James Scott's cabin without making any further eye contact with anyone.
Holmes went straight to the desk and took some random papers which looked like important articles. He picked a few that he thought would be important to people, which went like “Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee” he rolled his eyes as he read it, such unimportant news yet people seem to love reading this news for hundredth time. “Match girl's strick” he seemed to find it more interesting than the previous, yet he gathered it without reading as he gathered another, “British colonised India” he stopped as he found it. He read the article, how blind has he been all this days he thought. Everything that glorified British newspaper was eventually traumatizing to, especially, the working class one, the farmers. He stood thinking how Mr Dey have been wronged. How much the biased eyes of police inspectors have to not see the obvious. But then he also recalled how wronged Devi has been by her husband. Shaking his head he gathered those three articles and made his way to Mr Dey's cabin straight. Unfortunately it was empty. And fortunately Mr Reynolds went out to a meeting with the monarchist and won't be coming until two hours. However this always happens, he goes out of the office each and every day for three to four hours. As Holmes was about get his work done someone called from behind,
“What are you doing here, Scott? Do you need something from Dey’s cabin?”
He turned to see a rather healthy man staring at him with suspicious eyes. Although Holmes wasn't moved a bit he kept his composer and said,
“He had asked me to tally some documents. I was just going inside for that thing. Why? Is he not here?” Holmes feigned innocence.
“Oh, my. Do you really not know what happened here? I shall tell you everything after work when we smoke a pipe together, do not worry.” he left with a smirk.
Holmes smiled politely and the man took his leave. He locked the door behind him, and began to search for the one specific file.
It did not take Holmes long to find the file: the one where Debashish Dey had supposedly written a wrong amount for the cost of newspapers in the town. The Daily Telegraph had not yet deemed it necessary to confiscate that document from Dey’s office.
Holmes looked through the document closely. He immediately noticed the overwriting that the file displayed where the actual amount was written. The overwritten part was certainly not done by Mr Dey. The handwriting was different. He was surprised of no one ever noticing this mistake, or perhaps it was hidden so no one notices anything , no one doubts anything, no one catches the real deal.
Holmes had a feeling that he knew whose handwriting it was.
He began to search for some more important papers to look for a document that might be handwritten by someone else.
He looked some more papers where others signatured and He then found Mr Reynolds’ Signature on a file, and his suspicion was correct.
It was Mr Reynolds who had manipulated Mr Dey’s file, and he was also the one who was actually corrupt. Mr Reynolds had framed Debashish Dey for being Indian, using the ongoing sour relation between these two country.
Holmes took both the documents with him as he went out of Mr Debashish Dey’s office to ask for a telegram paper at the reception, so that he could send a wire to Watson.
*
Watson had phoned the police and instructed them about where they had to go, exactly. Just as Holmes had asked him to.
The police had shown up on time, and they had arrested Reynolds on the charges of corruption, forgery, misleading the officers, and whatnot.
Holmes went back to Baker Street, and paced in his living room, gathering all the clues as he waited for Watson, who had begun to jot down the whole case at the study table in his bedroom.
It was done, this case was solved. It was a mere case of secrecy. A mere case of putting blame on an innocent.
He stopped and looked at his violin. Devi was fascinated with the instrument. Devi, she must be very happy seeing her husband being proved innocent. But what about her, her passion for sitaar?
Holmes went closer to the instrument and could only think of Devi and her helpless situation. What if Mr Dey still doesn't respect her? She was a young girl of twenty, she couldm’t let her life get wasted. However what Devi wanted was impossible for him.
It haunted him.
Though he wanted to help her, he couldn't quite do anything, could he? While he thought all of that, Watson entered the sitting room with a pen in his hand.
“Finally, you solved another case, Holmes. Congratulations.” Watson came in with all excitement. Finally to hear a conclusion of this absurd case.
Holmes nodded, smiling vacantly.
“Is something bothering you?” Watson walked over to have a seat on the armchair across from Holmes’ in the sitting room. His dear friend is always the most elated one after solving even the most mundane case is leaping in joy, why not today?
“Yes, dear fellow.” he answered looking away with a single nod.
A moment passed in silence, when doctor Watson started to wonder what could be the reason, until he recalled his friend with Devi, laughing, talking, sparkling in both of their eyes, especially of Devi's. “Does this have something to do with Mrs Dey?”
“You're in excellent form today, Watson. As it happens, yes. It has to do with the young lady.” He replied with a soft chuckle. Proud, seeing his friend's deduction being correct.
Watson hesitated to ask the question that came in his mind, however he smirked a little, wondering if his friend finally in love. “Are you in love? Is the cause of your current black mood and angst stemming from the fact that she is not an unattached woman?”
“I fail to see how you'd come to such a conclusion! You must know quite well that a man like me is not made for a sentiment like that. You are on the wrong track.” Holmes replied with evident irritation.
“Pardon me, Holmes. I took the liberty of arriving at that conclusion because I saw how close the two of you were when I came back from the park the other time.” he came closer wanting an answer.
“Well, then, you arrived at the wrong answer. In fact, the reverse is true. She is in love with me.”
“Did she say that to you?” Holmes' answer made his jaw drop. A married woman is in love with another man? And was she so unabashed that she uttered it to him?
“Not exactly, but I shall be deemed a sloppy detective if I couldn't even deduce that much at this point in my career.” Saying so Holmes finally sat in his chair, taking out his pipe.
“What can you possibly do about it? She is married. If you do not even feel the same way.” Watson sat accross him too as his friend blew a round of smoke into the air.
“That is the question. That is the very thing which is bothering me at present.” Replied Holmes.
“Perhaps you could promise her that you would write to her and she to you, every now and then. As good friends. This way you would not hurt her feelings.” Suggested Watson taking out his smoking pipe, but stopped before lighting it up. Disturbed by the whole situation.
“You truly are the conductor of light in my life.” Holmes smiled, considering his suggestion for a moment. Yet wanting if there's any other way to make that woman truly content, not with a man, but with herself.
Watson smiled fondly at Holmes, this time lighting his pipe and smoking. “Do it as soon as you can. Tomorrow, if possible.”
Holmes smiled back. “I will.”

Four And Four
Volume 1: Fantine; Book 3: In The Year 1817; Chapter 3: Four And Four
It is hard nowadays to picture to one’s self what a pleasure-trip of students and grisettes to the country was like, forty-five years ago. The suburbs of Paris are no longer the same; the physiognomy of what may be called circumparisian life has changed completely in the last half-century; where there was the cuckoo, there is the railway car; where there was a tender-boat, there is now the steamboat; people speak of Fécamp nowadays as they spoke of Saint-Cloud in those days. The Paris of 1862 is a city which has France for its outskirts.
The four couples conscientiously went through with all the country follies possible at that time. The vacation was beginning, and it was a warm, bright, summer day. On the preceding day, Favourite, the only one who knew how to write, had written the following to Tholomyès in the name of the four: “It is a good hour to emerge from happiness.” That is why they rose at five o’clock in the morning. Then they went to Saint-Cloud by the coach, looked at the dry cascade and exclaimed, “This must be very beautiful when there is water!” They breakfasted at the Tête-Noir, where Castaing had not yet been; they treated themselves to a game of ring-throwing under the quincunx of trees of the grand fountain; they ascended Diogenes’ lantern, they gambled for macaroons at the roulette establishment of the Pont de Sèvres, picked bouquets at Pateaux, bought reed-pipes at Neuilly, ate apple tarts everywhere, and were perfectly happy.
The young girls rustled and chatted like warblers escaped from their cage. It was a perfect delirium. From time to time they bestowed little taps on the young men. Matutinal intoxication of life! adorable years! the wings of the dragonfly quiver. Oh, whoever you may be, do you not remember? Have you rambled through the brushwood, holding aside the branches, on account of the charming head which is coming on behind you? Have you slid, laughing, down a slope all wet with rain, with a beloved woman holding your hand, and crying, “Ah, my new boots! what a state they are in!”
Let us say at once that that merry obstacle, a shower, was lacking in the case of this good-humored party, although Favourite had said as they set out, with a magisterial and maternal tone, “The slugs are crawling in the paths,—a sign of rain, children.”
All four were madly pretty. A good old classic poet, then famous, a good fellow who had an Éléonore, M. le Chevalier de Labouisse, as he strolled that day beneath the chestnut-trees of Saint-Cloud, saw them pass about ten o’clock in the morning, and exclaimed, “There is one too many of them,” as he thought of the Graces. Favourite, Blachevelle’s friend, the one aged three and twenty, the old one, ran on in front under the great green boughs, jumped the ditches, stalked distractedly over bushes, and presided over this merry-making with the spirit of a young female faun. Zéphine and Dahlia, whom chance had made beautiful in such a way that they set each off when they were together, and completed each other, never left each other, more from an instinct of coquetry than from friendship, and clinging to each other, they assumed English poses; the first keepsakes had just made their appearance, melancholy was dawning for women, as later on, Byronism dawned for men; and the hair of the tender sex began to droop dolefully. Zéphine and Dahlia had their hair dressed in rolls. Listolier and Fameuil, who were engaged in discussing their professors, explained to Fantine the difference that existed between M. Delvincourt and M. Blondeau.
Blachevelle seemed to have been created expressly to carry Favourite’s single-bordered, imitation India shawl of Ternaux’s manufacture, on his arm on Sundays.
Tholomyès followed, dominating the group. He was very gay, but one felt the force of government in him; there was dictation in his joviality; his principal ornament was a pair of trousers of elephant-leg pattern of nankeen, with straps of braided copper wire; he carried a stout rattan worth two hundred francs in his hand, and, as he treated himself to everything, a strange thing called a cigar in his mouth. Nothing was sacred to him; he smoked.
“That Tholomyès is astounding!” said the others, with veneration. “What trousers! What energy!”
As for Fantine, she was a joy to behold. Her splendid teeth had evidently received an office from God,—laughter. She preferred to carry her little hat of sewed straw, with its long white strings, in her hand rather than on her head. Her thick blond hair, which was inclined to wave, and which easily uncoiled, and which it was necessary to fasten up incessantly, seemed made for the flight of Galatea under the willows. Her rosy lips babbled enchantingly. The corners of her mouth voluptuously turned up, as in the antique masks of Erigone, had an air of encouraging the audacious; but her long, shadowy lashes drooped discreetly over the jollity of the lower part of the face as though to call a halt. There was something indescribably harmonious and striking about her entire dress. She wore a gown of mauve barège, little reddish brown buskins, whose ribbons traced an X on her fine, white, open-worked stockings, and that sort of muslin spencer, a Marseilles invention, whose name, canezou, a corruption of the words quinze août, pronounced after the fashion of the Canebière, signifies fine weather, heat, and midday. The three others, less timid, as we have already said, wore low-necked dresses without disguise, which in summer, beneath flower-adorned hats, are very graceful and enticing; but by the side of these audacious outfits, blond Fantine’s canezou, with its transparencies, its indiscretion, and its reticence, concealing and displaying at one and the same time, seemed an alluring godsend of decency, and the famous Court of Love, presided over by the Vicomtesse de Cette, with the sea-green eyes, would, perhaps, have awarded the prize for coquetry to this canezou, in the contest for the prize of modesty. The most ingenious is, at times, the wisest. This does happen.
Brilliant of face, delicate of profile, with eyes of a deep blue, heavy lids, feet arched and small, wrists and ankles admirably formed, a white skin which, here and there allowed the azure branching of the veins to be seen, joy, a cheek that was young and fresh, the robust throat of the Juno of Ægina, a strong and supple nape of the neck, shoulders modelled as though by Coustou, with a voluptuous dimple in the middle, visible through the muslin; a gayety cooled by dreaminess; sculptural and exquisite—such was Fantine; and beneath these feminine adornments and these ribbons one could divine a statue, and in that statue a soul.
Fantine was beautiful, without being too conscious of it. Those rare dreamers, mysterious priests of the beautiful who silently confront everything with perfection, would have caught a glimpse in this little working-woman, through the transparency of her Parisian grace, of the ancient sacred euphony. This daughter of the shadows was thoroughbred. She was beautiful in the two ways—style and rhythm. Style is the form of the ideal; rhythm is its movement.
We have said that Fantine was joy; she was also modesty.
To an observer who studied her attentively, that which breathed from her athwart all the intoxication of her age, the season, and her love affair, was an invincible expression of reserve and modesty. She remained a little astonished. This chaste astonishment is the shade of difference which separates Psyche from Venus. Fantine had the long, white, fine fingers of the vestal virgin who stirs the ashes of the sacred fire with a golden pin. Although she would have refused nothing to Tholomyès, as we shall have more than ample opportunity to see, her face in repose was supremely virginal; a sort of serious and almost austere dignity suddenly overwhelmed her at certain times, and there was nothing more singular and disturbing than to see gayety become so suddenly extinct there, and meditation succeed to cheerfulness without any transition state. This sudden and sometimes severely accentuated gravity resembled the disdain of a goddess. Her brow, her nose, her chin, presented that equilibrium of outline which is quite distinct from equilibrium of proportion, and from which harmony of countenance results; in the very characteristic interval which separates the base of the nose from the upper lip, she had that imperceptible and charming fold, a mysterious sign of chastity, which makes Barberousse fall in love with a Diana found in the treasures of Iconia.
Love is a fault; so be it. Fantine was innocence floating high over fault.

Note
hi!! id like to participate in your moodboard game. for you, i did three moodboards with notes at the bottom.
one on your fs, relationship w them and other things i could channel
your 2024
your futury city/country + home
future spouse moodboard notes: emphasis on making you laugh, might be slightly well off (if not then they are just more well off than you), lots of new experiences. the couple all your friends invite to hang out with (double dates!) lots of quality time dates. both might be busy when you first start dating, so quality time dates where you cook and eat together might be prominent. also might be from a colder country. im lowkey getting scandinavian countries but take that with a grain of salt.
your 2024: lots of self care, hanging out with friends, catching up with friends. health is wealth, definitely working on achieving success and taking the time to reconnect with yourself.
your future country/home: i sense countries like Romania, Greece, Italy but the quieter parts. your home might be cozy, simple things like having wooden flooring instead of marble. very calm and relaxing. home will definitely be a safe space for you. might often invite friends over and catch up. this feels very much like golden hour in the morning.
for myself, i’d like to know
my future spouse’s appearance/ethnicity and job
my 2024 (tbh i just want to know if ill emigrate so you can disregard this and just put future career if not much comes up)
my future country/city
thank you and i hope you have a really lovely august! i hope the moodboards make you feel better especially after being scammed 😓😓
Hello!
The fs description sounds beautiful!! I love all the small (but significant) details that you mentioned. I am particularly fond of the quality time dates 🫶 I LOVE that for us <333
My 2024 year description sounds super nice. Those are all things that I need, and that I have already started to work on. I really like the fact that those will be the themes of next year 🧡
Again, I’m gonna say how interesting it is that you all seem to channel the area I’m from. I’m more of a city girl, but I’d absolutely love having a vacation home in a place like that!! You’re on point with the vibes you picked up about my space! As an introvert, my home is indeed very important to me.
Thank you for the moodboards and for the readings <333
I did mostly feel feminine energy for your fs. If you’re not attracted to women, then it can just be that your fs might have a lot of feminine energy. As for jobs, I felt like they might have their own crafts shop, or work someplace where they can sell their creations. They might create anything. I heard things like: ceramics, glass, clothing, personal care products, plants, diys, healing herbs, crystals, holistic jewelry. They might also do something that has to do with being environmentally friendly. Strong Aquarius vibes tbh. I don’t usually put astrological placements in my readings since I don’t feel knowledgeable enough to do that, but it really feels like your person has strong (or many) Aquarius placements haha. I also heard India, Native American, Maui, American, and Hawaiian, but take that as it resonates since it felt more like places or cultures they might be interested in, rather than necessarily being where they’re from. (Btw, the outfits I showed you don’t necessarily need to be identical to how your fs dresses. It might be about the patterns they like to use, or where they get their inspiration from, in terms of personal style).
During the next year channeling, I saw you focusing on friendships and learning. I saw you also spending time on the blog and putting effort into the content you put out. Lastly, I’m not sure if you would like to move to a big city, but I saw a lot of skyscraper pictures, to the point of having to put them in your moodboard. I also heard London, but if you’re not interested in moving there, then you might just move to a bigger city more or less near to where you currently are. You’ll also spend a lot of time meeting new people and cultivating positive connections.
Again, as future place, I saw mostly cities. Especially London or England in general, Germany, Northern Europe in general, India, Nepal. Slightly felt America too but I feel like you’ll just travel there at some point, and you most likely won’t move there, but take it as it resonates. If it’s not really in your plans to move to a big city, you might get a really good opportunity there at some point, and after considering the idea for a bit, you might then accept to go, even if just “temporarily”. Butterfly effect kind of situation.
Thank you for participating!! I hope you enjoyed your reading <333 Take care! 🧡

Dresses And Light Jackets: You are going to need dresses and light jackets of a wide variety. As pointed out earlier, the weather in the state is going to be a little confusing. It is warm during the day and very cool in the mornings and evenings.
Flexible Jeans Or Track Pants: You might have to do a little bit of running or walking. Also, there are numerous Punjab tourist places that you would want to explore on foot. In such situations, comfortable leggings are your best option.
Extra Socks: It is always a good decision to carry a few extra pairs of socks. Some of them might get soiled and dirty, especially during a taxing trek or walk.
Shoe Storage And Comfortable Shoes: Shoe storage is very important. It is an absolute must and you should never forget to make a spot for it on your travelling checklist. Also, if you have decided to wear a pair of slippers while travelling, store your sports shoes in the shoe storage itself with enough padding material.
Sanitizers: Both liquid and gel sanitizers are important. You must also keep a packet of napkins or tissue papers with you. If you can find paper soap and have storage for an extra water bottle, that is going to work fine as well.
First Aid Kit: You are going to need a first aid kit as well. Make sure to include the following items in it:
Pain relief medicine
Antiseptic liquid
Vaseline petroleum jelly
A tiny sanitiser bottle
Anti-acid liquid
Medicine for fever
Antiseptic cream
Band-aid pack
A pair of small scissors
Anti-allergic tablet
Inhaler
Pacifier if you have small children
7. Sunblock/Sunscreen: Sunblock or sunscreen is very important because the temperature and the sun especially in the internal regions of many Punjab tourist places can be a little too cruel. Carry something with at least SPF 50 if you have sensitive skin.
8. Power Bank: This is one of the biggest necessities that you will long for. There are practically countless places to visit in Punjab and you would want to check out a lot of them in a single day. You are going to need a power bank if you want to keep your phone camera running and the pictures constantly flowing across to your Instagram feed.
To wrap it up for you, travelling to the state of Punjab to explore some of its hidden gems is going to be a lot of fun. It is not just a one-of-a-kind experience for a solo traveller but also a rejuvenating exercise for couples who are looking to reignite love and passion in their relationship. When are you planning your next trip to Punjab?
