The next few weeks were rather bizarre. Elizabeth sat in the last bench for Draco's class. He noticed it, but didn't say anything. He thought that's probably for the best, whatever he does, doesn't sit well with her anyway.

"do you think daisy will accept it papa?" Scorpius asked Draco sitting at the stairs with him. The yulu ball has announced it's arrival again. Making Hogwarts a rather joyous place.

"I hope she does, I think she's a good friend" Draco replied, looking at his son and smirking, he couldn't believe his little son was blushing.

"I've made a card for her" he announced, "to ask her out".

"that's so creative of you" Draco praised. Surprised that he had such a thoughtful idea.

"Elizabeth helped" the name from his mouth made Draco's heart skip a beat, "ain't she amazing? I wish you two would get along well".

Draco sighed, knowing very well, it would be way too difficult. He doesn't understand her. He liked her a little maybe when he saw her. But she's... Probably not his type. Also she was his student. They better not be friends, people may assume something else.

Draco was invited to the practice, professor mcGonagall was again telling students about the ball. This time instead of picking a student she asked,

"Mr Malfoy" making everyone look at him, and making Draco uncomfortable, "our very dear student once".

"a lie" he thought to himself.

"and now the very great professor" she stretched her hand towards him, "could you come up and show them how it's done?"

Every student clapped and laughed. Just imagining him dancing with his professor was funny enough. He remembered the same thing happening to Ron once. Shaking his head he got up and went towards mcGonagall.

"but I will be needing a student to accompany him".

He frowned, he didn't think of that.

"ofcourse I can't dance now Mr Malfoy I'm old".

"you already were back then too" Malfoy thought to himself but stayed quiet letting her choose a partner for him.

"ah miss knight, late again".

Draco's heart pounded in his chest, again, again that name.

"I'm so sorry professor" she said from the doorway while walking in.

Draco couldn't move and look at her. He could feel her coming towards him.

"then you deserve a punishment" said mcGonagall, "come here, help Mr Malfoy teach other students how to dance".

He couldn't help but look at her, with pleading eyes. Pleading "please don't runaway this time."

Elizabeth on the other hand was shocked, her gaze shifted from mcGonagall to Draco. There was a droplet of sweat to be seen on her forehead. However, she didn't run, she walked slowly, and stood before Malfoy, a little far.

Draco and Elizabeth stared at eachother, wondering who would break the ice. He did. He stepped closer and asked for her company, "may I miss knight?"

Nodding she put her hand on his shoulder, letting him hold her by her waist, "you may, professor Malfoy".

With that their feets started to follow the rhythm, started to follow eachother, they started to sway with the music. Little more every time. Out of no where Draco made Elizabeth spin. Which shocked both of them but they continued to dance, drowned in the music, lost in the dance. They danced their hearts out. Everyone watched them with mesmerizing gaze. Even mcGonagall. Some were ready to tease but they couldn't, they just watched as if they haven't seen two people dance like that ever. It was only when the music stopped everyone including Draco and Elizabeth got a sense of the their surroundings. They bowed to eachother and everyone started clapping. This tim Draco let himself smile, so did Elizabeth staring at her friends.

Draco saw her smiling like that for the first time, that too with him, gaining a little courage he finally whispered, only for her to listen to,

"you didn't runaway".

Elizabeth looked at him, her smile not fading when she said, "you called me by my name yesterday".

Next day was rather peaceful for both Draco and Elizabeth. Atleast that's what it seemed like. Draco did steal glances at her often but her eyes were fixated on him when he was speaking and the objects when he was demonstrating. She was rather rational, rather interested in her studies than her very handsome professor. After the class ended everyone got up and took their stuffs to go out, so did Elizabeth. Draco on the other hand recalled the previous day, their fight, their moments together, he felt a little something in his heart. Wanting more of that, more him and Elizabeth. Alas! Elizabeth made it quite evident it wasn't possible. She took her stuffs and left the class, without a single glance spared at him.

That whole day was rather quiet for professor Malfoy. He didn't see or hear much of Elizabeth that day. He shook his head standing at the balcony, realising he misses her. Her hair falling over her shoulder, her eye roll at him, her annoyance towards him and... And also her affection towards his son.

"professor?" A rather known voice interrupted his train of thoughts. And known scent, Jasmine he believed. Draco turned to find Elizabeth, standing in her PJ's and a silk dressing gown thrown over it.

"Eliza-"

"I didn't want to come" she said before he could finish, "but it's... Your son wanted me to teach a spell, it's Noctisphera. So I've written about it, I've broken it down step by step on how to use it properly".

Draco took the paper she handed, "Noctisphera" he read, "This spell creates a sphere of soft, glowing light that surrounds the target, gently pulling them into a deep, peaceful sleep. It’s often used to calm nervous individuals or to temporarily subdue someone without harm. The light also shields the person’s mind from unwanted thoughts, offering a brief escape into a serene dreamscape and-"

"you don't have to read it out loud jeez" she said annoyed, "oh, you probably don't know the word 'jeez' it's a muggle word, it's -"

"I know" he said sternly.

There was something different in Elizabeth's expression, betraying her agitation. Hurt? That'd be a strong word. However it was something unlikely of the Elizabeth Draco saw. He noticed her shift in expression, so he stepped closer to speak politely,

"Elizabeth are you okay?"

She took a step back, eyes a little dewy, which she hid perfectly as she looked down.

"I am," she said swiftly, "please give this to him".

Without wasting another time she literally ran to Ravenclaw's dormitory.

"again" Draco murmured. She ran away again. She always runs away. She always leaves him behind.

He sighed and put the note in his pocket. Knowing as the sun will rise he'll give it to his son.

Don't even get me started...

So this is a weird story. I'll take you back to 2023. January month when I went to a shop with my mum and the guy who sits at the reception talked to me for the first time. Next time it was probably april or may when he spoke to me. But my mum wasn't there with me so he literally FLIRTED. So smoothly that for the first time I was 🤭 this for a not so good looking guy. Later fast forward to 2024. In the midst of my chaotic life I went there and again he made me giggle. Then I took advantage of his attention to make me feel good and went there while dressing well. BRO IGNORED ME!!!!!. I was so confused but then I was in hurry so I didn't give it a second thought. Later, I went there and I completely ignored him. Or... So I thought. I was putting stuffs in my bag and when I looked up I saw him reading my name from my identity card which was kept on the desk. So he was still interested. Then yesterday I went there with my friend and we didn't talk obviously because my eyes were on my friend. He's a very soft spoken guy but I'm really intrigued with this whole game. So I thought I share....
